“You really want someone to fuck?” The bluntness and crass wording he used gave you pause. His voice was gruff, and for once, he didn’t look you in the eyes. He stared hard at your knees, jaw set, waiting for your response.
“Huh? I mean, yeah, I’m long past ready, but —”
“Let me.”
“Um,” you stuttered, unable to stop your jaw from dropping a little. “What?” you laughed nervously, as if you hadn’t been dreaming of him saying this since you met.
“Let me.” Dean finally looked up, and you could tell he was deadly serious.
Your mind was screaming at you to say yes on the spot, but you forced yourself not to jump at the opportunity. “And what’s gonna happen if I do?”
“Then, I’ll fuck allll that innocence, and that snarky attitude of yours, right outta ya’, and I can promise you, darlin’, you’ll always remember your first as your best.” He was still serious, but now, you noticed a little twinkle in the corner of his eyes.

Gif not mine, credits to the owner!
Your heart was beating erratically, and rightfully so.
The literal demon version of your own boyfriend, Dean, was currently chasing you around your place. So much for safe home.
“The more you run, the more angry I get Y/n/n.” His voice sent chills down your spine but you knew you had to keep going. You rounded the corner and grabbed the stair case banister to haul yourself upstairs. You could hear his footsteps, loud and clear.
“I gave you a chance, remember that.”
The house that was now trapping you inside, used to be your safe haven.
“Why won’t you just tell me what’s going on Sam?!” His eyes wouldn’t meet yours, the entire time he drove. Sam’s knuckles kept wrapping around the wheel, his knuckles were white and his grip unrelenting.
You’d met Dean not long ago, whilst you were still a baby hunter. Only a year had gone by since you’d lost your best friend whilst she and her boyfriend were on a hunt. It was your first time, and when you’d found out about the supernatural world. A wrong swing, a sharp knife and the dark of night caused her to pass away that night.
You were thoroughly traumatised from losing someone you were so close to, and the job wasn’t complete yet. But Jake called in reinforcements, in the form of Sam and Dean.
From then you’d continued to keep in touch with them, mostly Dean, talking to him helped you immensely when dealing with the pain of losing someone you loved. And when you’d run into them in California, and Dean asked you out, you were jumping for joy.
Within the two weeks you’d spent with them, hunting, travelling and living, you’d never felt happier. So when Dean asked you to stay with him, to be his?
You agreed with no hesitation.
But with a sick family member, you drew back. It’d been over a month and in that time you’d missed so much. So when your family got better and they all dispersed to their rightful places, you were surprised when Sam all of a sudden came to pick you up.
And you’d wound up at your safe home. With no explanation and a lack of communication, you found yourself lonely. Dean never reached out, Sam only checked in on mornings to make sure you were okay. Sam had literally taken your phone, giving you another with only his number.
Of course you’d asked questions, but you trusted Sam. So when he told you it was for the best? You’d listened. You’d wanted more information, but not like this.
The ringing of your phone had awoken you that night, you groaned as you turned over glancing at the alarm clock to your side.
3:30am.
“Sam what—,”
“Are you okay?”
You furrowed your eyebrows as you sat up in your bed, “I’m fine, what’s up?”
“You need to check the doors. The windows— god everything. You need to make sure you’re safe. Do you have access to your weapons?”
“No, I left them in my car. Most of my weapons stash is downstairs, I only have a few handguns and knifes in the bathroom. What’s wrong Sam?”
“It’s Dean, I’m so sorry I didn’t tell you Y/n. He’s not safe, he’s…” You got up from your bed, heading downstairs. You needed water if you were going to continue with this weird conversation.
You refrained from rolling your eyes, what hell is up with the dramatics? “He’s what Sam. A vampire?” You joked whilst grabbing a glass from the cupboard.
“Nope, not a vampire sweetheart.”
The glass shattered on the floor at the sound of his voice, it’d been far too long since you’d heard it.
‘Y/n? You still there?’ His voice was so close yet so far.
‘'Y/n? Is he there?" His voice was so close yet so far. Dean’s eyes were dark and black, nothing like the green you found yourself loving everyday. As if the eyes weren’t enough to tell you something was wrong, the hammer in his hand and the dark expression on his face.
Demon.
It was the one word that seeped into your mind from Sam’s screeching through the phone. Dean’s smirk made your heart beat faster. "If I was you sweetheart, I’d get to runnin’."
So you did.
With all the energy your drowsy body could muster, you ran past him and into the dining room before turning the corner. His taunts followed as you turned a corner, only to be met with a hard chest. “You’re making this too easy baby. How bout’ this, you hide and I seek. And if I catch you,”
You tried to pull away from him, but Dean was stronger now. “If I catch you, well you don’t wanna know.” His eyes flicked from green to black, and your heart dropped. His grip faltered and you took it as your chance to go. You ran to the back door, only to find it locked.
“Thought I told you to hide?”
“Shut up! I’m not playing!” You shouted as you ducked behind the kitchen counter, hopefully he hadn’t seen you by now.
As you peaked from behind you noticed the black boot by your foot, “You always looked best beneath me.” A wave of disgust rolled through as you grabbed onto his leg and pushed, swiping it from underneath him.
You ran back to the stairs.
“I gave you a chance, remember that.”
The words echoed through your head as you ran upstairs into your bedroom when the alarm system began blaring.
A bit late for that, you thought.
The crimson red seeped through the whole home, indicating an intruder. Shivers went up your spine at the thought of a demon chasing you, red consuming you.
You were a hunter, yes. But not emotionless, so a literal Demon chasing you through your home with the face of your boyfriend was more than enough to cloud your judgement. On one hand, all you can see is Dean. You can stare into his eyes, whether they're green or black, you can see the familiar stature that always cuddled you.
You could hear his voice, and boy was it hard to not listen.
Leaning against the door, you closed your eyes and breathed heavily in an attempt to calm yourself down. Was Sam on his way? Or were you defenceless against him?
As you calmed down, your eyes widened in terror. The bathroom door to your right was open, and led right into your room. You scrambled to your feet and rushed to the door but were knocked back down.
You were right, a Demon's much more menacing with a red glow. he was entering the bathroom with a smile on his face.
"There you are, sweetheart." He raised his arms outwards in a mock hug, those open arms were usually your safety. But now? You weren't so sure if they'd be the best place to be.
"Now I told you not to run, you can't get away. Be realistic baby." His footsteps were slow and menacing, but he hadn't entered the room yet. Your eyes flickered momentarily to the door, and an idea rushed through your mind.
Dean seemingly caught on, "Don't you dare—,"
The slamming of the door cut him off as you swiftly rose to your knees, turning the lock. A sigh of relief escaped your lips as you got up with the help of your bed. "Okay, now I'm mad."
And you sure as hell were not in the mood to experience it. So you slowly tiptoed over to the bedroom door, unlocking it. The eerie silence did nothing but raise your heartbeat. Where was he?
You turned to look back at the bathroom door, you couldn't spot any shadows. Either you barricade yourself upstairs and pray for a miracle in the form of a certain Winchester, or you take your chances with the stairs and risk getting grabbed.
You had a good feeling about the stairs, and if Dean was following then you'd for sure hear him with how loud his steps were, right?
The bedroom door closed behind you as you slowly made your way to the top of the stairs. You couldn't hear anything, or see anything besides red. So you ran.
With each step your faith in getting away was renewed.
But as you made your way to the ground an arm harshly dug into your stomach as you screamed. "Told you I'd getcha." You squirmed in his grasp, clawing at the door to pull yourself away from him. "Keep moving like that and I'll crush your skull in." That got your attention, your arms dropped to your side as you stood on the ground.
"Always so good for me baby, yeah?" You shook your head as he chuckled, "You don't want to be my good girl?" His voice was hot in your ear, and his words went straight down to your--
"I'm talking to you." Dean spun you around, you were chest to chest now, his eyes bore into yours as he awaited a response. His stare was too intense so you settled for staring at the ground. He didn't like it.
His hands dug into your chin, forcing you to look up at him, "Yes or No?" Your lips inched closer to his as he grinned, "Missed me have you?" The distraction was all you needed, the hunter in you telling you to run. Dean groaned as you ran towards the door having swiftly kneed him in the groin.
As your hands fumbled with the latch, a hand twisted around your hair before yanking you back, "You bitch, you think you're slick?" You cried out as he climbed ontop of you, his eyes flashed back to black as a scowl overcame his face.
His hold never relented as he dragged you upstairs, “Please Dean!” Despite your pleading he continued to walk, your pleas seemingly driving him. “You want to be a bitch? I’ll treat you like one.” You wheezed as you made impact with bed, courtesy of Dean’s harsh push.
You turned over, trying to crawl away as his hand wrapped around your ankle, “Stop!” His chuckle was deep and his hand bruised you. You couldn’t help the tears that ran down your face, this wasn’t your Dean.
“Fuck you look pretty when you cry. Y’know, I’ve missed this.” His hands ran down your stomach, and back up your chest as you attempted to shimmy away. A hand wrapped around your hip, digging in to hold you down.
“Missed these tits too.”
Your eyes widened as his hand unbuckled his belt.
“We’ve got time to spare, right?”

The urge to take Dean Winchester’s face in my hands and give him a kiss on the forehead is just ☹️☹️☹️.
requested by @faerieroyal at my old blog
he’d blush, dolly. blush!!!!!
dean winchester is nothing if not marshmallow fluff for his s/o. tried to put on his macho face, but you disarm him completely. i am a full believer that dean grumbles when he asks for cuddles like you’re actually annoying him, “you gonna lay with me already or not?” with this grumpy face, deep voice scratching his throat, rolling his eyes as soon as you snuggle up to him as if he’s not pulling you even closer.
your winchester boy loves cuddles, but he’ll pretend it’s the greatest chore of his life— don’t you dare pull away, though. he will throw a fit, “hey! the hell are you goin’?”

Title: We Have Time
Pairing: Dean Winchester x fem!reader
Word Count: ~3,825
A/N: Thank you so much @milkb0nny for the request!! I really got into this story, and I hope it lives up to what you were imagining.
And thank you for your kind words, I hope you have a great read and an amazing day!
A 1967 Chevy Impala.
You couldn’t help but stare, your jaw slack as you admired the car. You had a pretty nice car too, if you did say so yourself, but you hadn’t seen a freaking 1967 Chevy Impala in a while.
Your head tilted to the side as you slowly walked up to the car. You’d absolutely love to get your hands on it, but you could tell that the car was loved and well taken care of, and that the owner would probably never let another person lay their hands on it.
You were startled out of your thoughts when someone cleared their throat behind you. You whirled around in surprise and were suddenly standing face to face with two men. They were both tall, though one was taller than the other, with long brown hair. The other was a bit shorter, with cropped blond hair and piercing green eyes.
You could feel blood rushing up to your cheeks in embarrassment. “Sorry,” you said.
The taller man smiled kindly. “No worries. What’re you up to?”
You shook your head, your cheeks still flaming. “Nothing. Well, I was headed back to work, but I got distracted and now I’m a little late, but I should be fine, I think. I just love this car and I had to stop and take a closer look and now here we are.”
The taller man chuckled at your tangent, but the shorter man was looking behind you. You followed his stare and came face to face with your own lovely car. Your 1995 Mazda RX-7.
You turned back towards the two men when you heard the blond one finally speak. “That’s a damn nice car.”
You felt pride brimming in your chest. Of course it was. You’d kept it in pristine condition, and if there was one thing that you knew for sure, it was cars.
The man looked back towards you and offered a small smirk. “You like my car, sweetheart?.”
You smiled easily. “I love it, actually.”
His smirk grew as he put on a flirtatious voice shamelessly. “Oh, yeah? You wanna go for a ride sometime?”
The taller man made a face of disgust, but you were practically jumping for joy. “Really? You mean it?”
The shorter man blinked in surprise, as if he hadn’t expected you to say yes. Why wouldn’t you, though? It was a freaking Impala.
You reached out a hand, still buzzing with excitement. “I guess if you’re offering me a ride, I should introduce myself. Hi, I’m y/n.”
The taller man reached out a hand first, his handshake gentle. “I’m Sam. Nice to meet you.”
You moved your hand towards the shorter man, who took your hand in his. His grip was firm. You smiled as he introduced himself. “Dean.”
You nodded and looked back towards the car again. “So, did you mean it?”
Dean hesitated, looking you over, before nodding slowly. “Yeah, I meant it. We’re only in town for a few days, but why don’t you give me your number? I’ll take you on a ride.”
Your smile widened and you quickly recited your number as soon as Dean had his phone out.
Sam shoved his hands in his pockets and raised his eyebrows at you. “You sure about this?”
You nodded vigorously. “Yeah, of course. If you guys don’t mind me hitching a ride for a bit, obviously. I’d sit in the backseat, and I’m a good passenger.”
At that, a smile of amusement grew on Sam’s features as Dean cleared his throat. “I think you misunderstood me, sweetheart.”
A wave of disappointment crashed over you. “Oh.”
Dean’s eyes widened. “No, not like- I was thinking I’d leave the lunkhead behind and the two of us could go for a ride.”
“Oh,” you said again, relief filling your chest. “Yeah, that's fine.”
You could see Sam stifling laughter, though you weren’t sure why. You looked towards your phone and gasped lightly. You started walking backwards towards your car as you spoke. “I’ll definitely take you up on that, call me whenever. I really gotta go, but it was nice to meet you, though!”
You turned and ran the rest of the distance, hurriedly entering your car and driving off as quickly as possible in the hopes that you wouldn’t get fired for being so late.
From the same spot that you’d left them in, Sam burst out into laughter as Dean rolled his eyes.
Sam bent over, trying to catch his breath. “I don’t think she got the hint, Dean. Or maybe she’s just more interested in your car than you. You’re losing your touch.”
“Yeah, whatever,” Dean muttered, sulking towards Baby. Who cared what Sam said? You’d said yes to the ride, right? That had to count for something.
He looked off in the direction your car had gone in. “I can’t believe that’s her car.”
Sam threw him a look as he walked over to Baby and opened the passenger’s door. “What’s wrong with that?”
“Nothing. If you know how to take care of it.”
“Right. Because you’ve never even gotten a scratch on your car.”
“Hey,” Dean said warningly. “Baby’s been through some tough times, but she knows she can count on me.”
~~~
Dean stood still, staring at Baby.
Sam stood to his right, staring at the damage as well. They’d been standing here for a few minutes. The worst part about it was that the hunt was already over. There was nothing and nobody for Dean to take out his anger on.
Sam glanced towards Dean, hoping that this wouldn’t cause him to go feral. He opened his mouth to offer condolences, but Dean stopped him before he could speak.
“Not a word.”
Sam nodded silently and looked back towards Baby. It definitely wasn’t pretty.
Dean had been able to fix his car up plenty of times, but Sam had a feeling that even Dean might need some help with this one, if only so that he didn’t mope around in silence for hours as he fixed his Baby.
Not that he’d say that right now, of course. He’d wait until Dean finally stopped staring at the wreckage, first.
~~~
Dean stood a safe distance away from the car garage, leaning on Baby. His eyebrows were furrowed in anger and his arms were crossed over his chest. He’d love nothing more than to just drive away, but he’d have to come back for Sam anyway, so there was really no point.
Sam was talking to someone about the damage that Baby had sustained during the hunt. Dean wasn’t even sure what cover story they were using. He’d been too upset to ask.
Not that it mattered. They shouldn’t have come in the first place. He could’ve fixed Baby up on his own.
He still could. Maybe Sam could just walk back to the motel.
“Hey!”
He glanced towards the voice and immediately dropped his arms down by his side when he saw who the voice belonged to. He smiled, the anger in his chest subsiding slightly. “Hey yourself, sweetheart.”
You looked behind him and your eyes widened as you saw the state of his car. To say that you were surprised was an understatement. You’d definitely wanted to get your hands on that car, but you really hoped that you hadn’t just manifested an accident or something.
You looked back towards Dean. “What happened?”
Dean shook his head and closed his eyes. “Don’t remind me.”
You nodded slowly, your eyes still stuck on the poor Impala. “Okay.”
Dean looked over at you. “Eyes are over here, sweetheart.”
Your eyes snapped over to Dean. “Yeah, sorry. It’s just… sorry. Anyway.”
Dean smiled slightly. “Anyway.”
You grinned. “You said you were only in town for a while, right? What brings you here, of all places?”
Dean felt a warmth in his chest, thankful that you were kind enough to try and distract him. “My brother and I are travelers. We just wander wherever the wind takes us.”
You scoffed and crossed your arms. “The wind picked a horrible time to send you here. There’s been a bunch of accidents lately. I’m getting a bit worried, honestly.”
Dean felt a small smirk creep onto his face. “Is that right? I have a feeling it’ll die down.”
You made a face. “Horrible choice of words.”
Dean’s eyes widened and he let out a small cough. “You’re right. Sorry.”
You shrugged and smiled. “It’s fine. Wandering where the wind takes you sounds fun, though. I’ll have to try it some time.”
Before Dean could respond, you heard someone call out your name. You both turned in the direction of the garage to see who it was. Your boss pointed towards the Impala and cupped her hands around her mouth to shout, “These boys need a hand with their car! You got it?”
You waved a hand to show acknowledgment. Your boss nodded and walked back into the garage.
Dean whipped his head around to face you. “You’re a mechanic?”
You smiled with pride. “Only the best in the business.”
Dean looked you up and down. “Is that right?”
“You’re the one with the beat up car.”
“Don’t.”
You grinned unapologetically. “Sorry.”
You looked up as Sam approached the two of you. “Hey,” he said, “is there anywhere around here where we can get some food?”
You nodded and pointed. “Five minute walk that way, you’re going to hit a few places and a market. Is that okay?”
Sam nodded. “Yeah, that’s perfect, thanks.” He looked over at Dean. “Come on, let’s let her work.”
Dean looked over at you, who sent him a sweet smile. He shook his head slowly and turned back towards Sam. “I’ll stay here, help out with whatever.”
Sam made a sound of disbelief. “She’s a professional, Dean, she can handle it.”
“Oh, I know she can. I just want to see her in action.”
You blushed, looking away with a smile.
Sam rolled his eyes. “Whatever. I’ll be back.”
Dean nodded and watched for a moment as Sam walked away before turning back to you. “So. How long is this going to take?”
You shrugged and looked behind him, cringing at the damage. “Three days, minimum.”
Dean closed his eyes in pain before shaking his head. “Alright. Alright, that’s fine. We have time.” He opened his eyes and smiled. “So. What other surprises are you hiding?”
~~~
“That’s bull!”
Dean watched you fondly as you yelled at the television that was set up in the garage.
You were multitasking, watching Formula Drift as you worked on fixing up the Impala. Which isn’t what he had expected from you, but really, he should have known better by now.
After all, this was the third day that the two of you had been busy repairing Baby.
Your time together had started out quietly. On day one, when you had gotten Baby to your workspace, you’d started crooning as if she were a living thing. Dean had taken a liking to you immediately after that.
As soon as you started working, the two of you made progress quickly, much faster than he could’ve ever done it on his own. It was made even faster by the fact that you were splitting tasks and helping each other out whenever possible.
The first day of work was mostly silent, except for a few short exchanges here and there.
But on day two, you two had gotten to talking. You were an open book, no secrets or lies to you at all. Well, except for the fact that you were “sweet and harmless on the outside but a tough mechanic here in the garage”, according to Dean. You’d laughed at that, causing that warmth to appear in Dean’s chest again.
You had told Dean a bit about your life, and how your family was no longer in the picture after an accident that had happened a few years back.
“I’m sorry,” Dean had said softly.
You smiled. “Thank you.”
Dean had found himself telling you a bit about his life as well. That Mary had passed away long ago, and that John had gone more recently.
You had looked at him with such compassion in your eyes as you said, “I’m sorry, truly.”
He had nodded once in acknowledgment before he’d steered the conversation towards something else.
You were easy to talk to. Almost too easy. Today, on day three of working, Dean had almost told you what he had really been doing that had caused so much damage to the Impala. He caught himself just in time, but still marveled at how easy it was to be honest with you.
Luckily, your conversation had been cut short when your boss walked in and turned the television on. “You’ve got to see this,” was all the context that she had provided before walking out once again.
Dean had glanced at the screen in surprise when he saw Formula Drift playing, and looked over at you with even more surprise when you immediately repositioned yourself so that you could work on Baby and watch the TV at the same time.
You’d been working and watching the competition for a while now, instructing Dean to hand you a tool every once in a while or giving him a job to do when you didn’t want to tear your gaze away from the screen.
But even with your focus divided, Dean could see how loving and careful you were being with Baby.
He couldn’t help but let his gaze linger on you when he saw how passionate you were with both the Impala and the competition. You were muttering to yourself as you worked, and looking up at the screen every once in a while to make sure you didn’t miss anything.
He wasn’t even really paying attention to the screen, or Baby, to be honest. His gaze was focused on you.
You threw your hands up in frustration and shouted at the screen before looking over at him. “You saw that, right? You saw that, I know you did.”
Dean nodded, not really even sure what he was agreeing to. “Yeah, I saw it.”
You huffed out a breath of anger and stood. “I can’t watch this anymore, it’s too much. We’re almost done here, do you want to see if Sam has some food for you?”
Dean looked down in surprise to see that you were indeed almost done with your work. A quick glance at the clock on the wall let him know that the two of you had been working hours.
He looked over at you. “Yeah, sure. We’ve been at it for a while, don’t you get breaks or something?”
You smiled. “Yeah. I’m trying to subtly ask you if I can take my break now.”
Dean’s eyebrows shot up. “Oh. Yeah, no, of course. Let’s eat, I’m starved.”
He turned away from you, but stopped when he heard you groan again. He looked back to see you bouncing on your toes as you watched the screen.
You made eye contact with Dean. “I’m coming, just give me two seconds.” You looked back at the TV.
Dean shook his head in amusement and walked back over to you, gently placing one hand on your shoulder and using his other hand to grab one of yours. He slowly led you away even as you stared at the screen.
“Come on, sweetheart,” he mumbled.
“It’s just-”
“I know.”
“It’s so stupid, he didn’t even-”
“I know, I’m sorry. Come on.”
“Dean, are you seeing this?”
“Yeah. Yeah, I am. Come on, you can do it, I believe in you.”
He finally led you away from the screen, releasing you as soon as the tension faded from your body.
You laughed in embarrassment. “Sorry about that.”
Dean smiled back. “What’re you sorry for? I get it.”
You grinned, looking down at your feet. “How long are you staying in town for?”
Dean’s heart sped up. So you had definitely caught on to his not-so-subtle flirtations over the last few days.
You looked up and smiled hopefully. Dean had been nothing but kind and sweet, and you were hoping that he’d at least entertain the idea of the two of you spending more time together. Especially since he’d been hinting at it for a while now.
But as you watched his smile start to fade, you realized that your hopes had only been silly little dreams. Nothing more.
He looked away. “We don’t usually stay in one place for long. We’ll probably be out as soon as Baby’s ready to go.”
You could feel your heart drop down to your feet, but you forced a smile on your lips. “Yeah, that makes sense. Traveling with the wind and all.”
Dean nodded, still not looking you in the eye.
You cleared your throat and nodded. “Okay, then. I’ll get Baby up and running soon. I’m just going to grab some food and I’ll get back to it.”
You turned your back on Dean before he could reply and walked away swiftly. You furiously wiped at your eyes as you felt them well up.
You didn’t know why you were so upset. Why would Dean put his life on hold for you when you’d only just met? Just because the two of you had some things in common? Or maybe because he had allowed you to be open and vulnerable without judgment. Or maybe because you had seen the way that he was looking at you as you worked, even though he hadn’t seen that you were looking at him the exact same way.
You stopped walking when you knew that you were out of Dean’s sight and leaned against a wall. There was no one like him in your small town, and you doubted you would ever meet anyone like him again. Someone tough but kind, eyes haunted by his past even as he tried to make sure that others didn’t have to suffer the way he did. Someone who made you feel like you had time to take things slow, and let things click into place.
You straightened and took a deep breath. You couldn’t let this affect you. Yeah, it hurt that Dean had led you to believe that you might become something, but when it came down to it, you’d only known each other a few days. No matter how much you liked him, you had to stay focused.
Even if Dean didn’t stay, you had a job to do.
~~~
“She asked you to stay?”
Dean shook his head. “No. No, she didn’t. She asked how long we’re staying for.”
Sam threw his hands up. “Same thing! What’d you tell her?”
“The truth.”
Sam spluttered. “The truth?”
Dean made a face. “Not the whole truth, I’m not insane.”
“You’ve done it before,” Sam pointed out.
“We’re getting off topic. Look, I just told her that we never stay in one place long, and that we were leaving when Baby was ready.”
“Dean,” Sam said in exasperation. “You’ve been flirting with the poor girl for days. Now she probably thinks she did something wrong.”
“Yeah, well, I don’t know what you want me to do about it.”
Sam stayed quiet for a moment. There was nothing that Dean could do to fix this. Not really. Not unless…
Sam sat up straighter. “Okay, listen. Maybe we can stay a bit longer.”
Dean shook his head. “We have a job to do, Sammy.”
“What job, Dean? We don’t have any new leads. Garth hasn’t called, and Cass hasn’t told us that the world is ending again.”
“Yeah, but-”
“We have time, Dean. Take advantage of it.”
Dean shook his head again. “Sammy, listen-”
“No, Dean, for once in your life, you listen to me. I can see the way you look at this girl. Hell, her boss sees it, too. I know our life makes it almost impossible to settle down, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try.” “Sammy-”
“Wouldn’t you say the same thing to me if Jess was still around?”
Dean stayed silent. Sam was right, of course. He’d love nothing more than for his brother to be able to settle down peacefully with the love of his life.
He took a deep breath and looked up at Sam. “Alright, I hear you.” Sam nodded, satisfied. “Good. Now, go get her, tiger.”
~~~
You looked up and smiled as Dean entered your workstation again.
“We’re almost done. Just a few last tweaks and you’ll be out of here.”
Dean stood across the room from you, his hands in his pockets.
You frowned in concern. “Hey. You okay?”
He nodded. “Yeah, I’m alright. But, uh, there’s been a change in plans.”
Your eyebrows furrowed in confusion. “Oh?”
Dean offered you a small smile. “We’re actually going to be staying here a little longer than we thought.”
You could feel your heart speed up in your chest, but tried to squash down your expectations. “Really?”
He nodded. “I still need to give you that ride, don’t I?”
You laughed in relief, allowing the flood of feelings that you’d been pushing back to move forward, front and center. “Yeah, you do. What made you change your mind?”
At that, Dean walked forward until he was standing beside you. “I think you know.”
You smiled. “Maybe. But I’d still like to know.”
Dean grinned and gently patted his Impala. “Well, Baby, of course. I need to be nearby in case you’re not as good as you say you are, so that I can make you pay for damages.”
You laughed. “Fair enough. You want to finish her up with me?”
“Obviously.”
You hummed. “We’re almost done, though. Where are you going to take me?”
Dean shook his head. “It’s a surprise.”
“Not always a great idea to keep a first date destination a surprise,” you said, surprised with your own boldness.
Dean chuckled. “First date, huh?”
You took a step closer to him. “Maybe. Is it?”
Dean lowered his head towards yours. “Absolutely.”
You could feel warmth radiating off of him in waves, allowing yourself to be comforted by his presence as you tilted your head up towards him.
Before you could even register what was going on, your boss burst into the room. “Hey, I have a guy out here asking for help, are you-”
You buried your face in your hands in embarrassment as Dean stepped back, looking up at the ceiling to hide his flushed cheeks.
Your boss slowly backed away, pulling the door closed behind her. “Sorry about that. Carry on.”
You peered out from behind your hands and looked up at Dean. “Maybe we should save that for our date. You know, just in case my boss decides to walk in again.”
Dean smiled, the warmth in his chest stronger than ever before. “Don’t worry about it.
We have time.”
dean winchester is 100% a tit man and nobody can change my mind on that.
18+ mdni
You’re absolutely right. I mean “busty Asian beauties” is his favorite so it’s literally canon. He’s definitely been obsessed with tits his whole life, and when he finally got his hands on some he was hooked.
He loves all sorts of boobs, small, big, large and small areolas, it doesn’t matter to him. If you allow it, he’ll suck ‘em
Get Off the Highway || Chapter 1
Pairing: Dean Winchester x Plus Size Reader
Word Count: 1.2 K
Warnings/tags: Enemies to lovers trope, pining, angst, fluff, childhood trauma, eldest daughter syndrome
A/N: I’m sorry for the short chapter. There isn’t much Dean in this one or much of an interaction between them. But I really hope you enjoy it. It is a short introduction to Reader and the very first meeting between our reader and the Winchesters. I know it says enemies to lovers trope, but I think it’s more along the lines of rivals to lovers. A bit like Anastasia and Dimitri, from the animated movie; Anastasia. If you know, you know. Which we’ll get more in the next chapter.
“Thanks,” You smiled at the waitress as she refilled your cup.
She sent a quick smile your way. “Let me know if you need anything else.”
“Will do.”
Sitting in the booth by the window, you were waiting for the help that Garth had promised you. You still had a hard time believing that he had sent the Winchesters your way. You had been working on this case for a little over two weeks. Strange killings had been going on in town. Wasn’t that how every hunt started? Strange deaths, classified more often than not as animal attack.
You knew better though. Everything about that case pointed to vampires. You had been able to locate their nest. Only problem was you were alone and there were at least eight of them. And before that case, you had never hunted vampires. Many hunters believed they had been hunted to extinction. And so far, you could only agree with them. Until now. It was a pretty big nest. At least, it was to you.
Not much of a team player, you usually hunt on your own. You liked it better this way. You didn’t have to depend on anyone for your survival. And you were the only one you had to worry about when on a hunt. It was better this way.
A dark muscle car parked next to yours on the parking lot. Two tall men climbed out of the car and made their way into the diner. The bell over the door rang as they walked through it. You observed them as they looked around the diner, certainly looking for you. The tallest of the two, with hair that belonged in a shampoo commercial, was the first one to clock you. Broad shoulders, tall, the Winchesters were handsome men. Way out of your league.
“Sam and Dean Winchester, I presume?” You asked as they stopped by your booth. You introduced yourself as they took a seat across from you.
The waitress stopped by your table. They placed their orders, and the waitress left with a smile on her face. And you told them everything they needed to know about the hunt, the nest and the location of it.
Your back slammed against the wall as the male vampire shoved you into the wall. You tried to push him away as the vampire snarled before he dived for your neck. You had a plan that you had, of course, shared with the brothers.
“That’s a stupid plan.” Dean scoffed.
“How is it stupid?” You asked with a frown.
“Too complicated.” Dean retorted. “It’s vampires, we go in, kill them, save the girl, go out. Simple, easy.”
“And my plan is stupid.” You scoffed in turn. “What about the not getting killed part?”
“We kill them before they kill us.” Dean said back.
“You have an answer for everything, huh?” You crossed your arms over your chest, annoyed at him.
And now, there you were. Fighting off a vampire because Dean Winchester thought he was too good for your plan. Alright, maybe your plan wasn’t all that good. It was the first time you were hunting vampires, after all. And sure, Sam had given you precious tips on how to take down a vampire. But Dean could have at least given you the benefit of the doubt. Or at least, given your plan a chance. It wasn’t all that bad.
You always thought there were safety in numbers. Although, you’d rather hunt alone. However, this was a vampire nest and you needed help. And your plan was for the three of you to stick together while you go through the nest. The Vampires would not know you were there. Chances were, they did not expect anyone to come to their nest. It wasn’t a grand and complicated plan, as Dean made it sound. It was your plan. And you liked to do things your way.
That was why you were annoyed more than anything. It was your hunt and your plan. And Dean Winchester decided that he would take over. And you simply did not like it. But you swallowed your pride because he knew better than you did. He had hunted vampires before while you had not. So, you trusted his opinion but you still didn’t like that they were not doing things your way.
“Took you long enough.” You said breathless, as the dead vampire fell to the ground. Beheaded.
“You okay?” Sam asked you.
“Yeah,” You nodded quickly. “I’m good.”
“SAM!” You both heard Dean call from upstairs.
On Sam’s heels, you rushed upstairs to Dean’s rescue. There, you saw more vampires and still no trace of the girl. One of those vampires was pining Dean to the floor, going for his neck. As soon as you reached the landing, the vampires turned on you and hissed. You reached into your pocket for the syringe that contained the dead man’s blood. It was poison to vampires. It would not kill them but incapacitate them for a little while. You stabbed the first vampire that reached you in the neck, and they crumpled to the floor. You took this opportunity to behead the monster. Sam was a little to your left, fighting his own vampire. He kicked it in the stomach before marching onto it. Judging that Sam did not need your help, you rushed to Dean, and beheaded the vampire attacking him.
You pulled him to his feet. His hand covered his bleeding neck. Your eyes immediately went to Sam. The latter was kneeling on the ground, straddling a headless body. You looked around you. Bodies were strewn around the room. It seemed you had taken care of all the vampires. You abandoned the brothers to check the rooms. You had to find the girl, make sure she was alright.
She was not. Not really. The vampires had fed on her and thankfully, she had not been turned into one herself. Physically, she would heal but emotionally—there was a long road ahead of her. You hoped she would move on from this eventually.
“It’s a weekday.” You said as an answer after the brothers invited you out to the bar.
“So?” Dean frowned at you.
“I don’t drink on weekdays.” You shrugged.
Dean scoffed before shaking his head. “It’s just a drink after a hunt.”
“I get that but I don’t drink on weekdays.” You retorted. “You guys go. Do what you usually do. I’m going back to my motel.”
“Suit yourself then.” Dean said before walking up to his car.
You exhaled as you watched him go. “Anyway, thanks for the help.”
“You’re welcome.” Sam smiled down at you. “Are you sure you don’t want to come?”
“Yeah, I’m sure.” You smiled at him. “I’d rather go back to the motel.”
“Well, if you need help with anything, give us a call.” Sam offered kindly.
“Will do.” You nodded. “It was nice meeting you guys.”
Sam grinned at you. “Yeah. Be safe out there.”
“You too.”
You waved him goodbye before you drove away. You wouldn’t call. Not if you can help it. But it was nice to know you had the option if you chose to. It couldn’t hurt to have the Winchesters as your ally, could it? And who knew? Maybe you would call.
It wasn’t the best day of your life, but it wasn’t bad either. Until he called you.
You didn’t know it was him, you wouldn't have picked up the phone if you knew it.
“Y/n” You hear his voice. And suddenly all you have constructed, all the walls you have constructed around you, they all fall down… He’s there, speaking to you again “Y/n, answer to me, baby”
‘Baby’ you hate how that sounds on his lips now. You will hate that word forever.
“Baby, we have to talk” he continues talking “We have to talk about what happened, if only you would give me another chance… I will make it up to you, I swear”
You still don't answer, the words can’t leave your mouth, and you feel your eyes begin to water.
“Baby, I’m sorry. You know that wasn’t me, right? I would never hurt you” his words are sweet, he’s trying to get to you like he did in the past “I regret everything that happened, everything. I just want us to be together again, like the good old times, you know? Henry and y/n against the world. Baby, just say something, I miss you”
“I…”
“There she is, my pretty baby. C’mon, you know our fate is to be together. What happened… it was just a mistake”
“A mistake? You call hitting me a mistake?” you can’t help the words spilling out of your mouth.
“Yes, a mistake, a stupid mistake”
“Just leave me alone, okay?” you say, and hang up the phone. But the damage was already done. You’ve heard his voice again, you’ve heard him call you ‘baby’ again. He’s getting in your head, and the worst thing is that for a moment, you did consider getting back with him. Because after all, after all he did to you… a part of your heart would always want him.
So you decided that the best way to forget about him, about that voice, was to go to a bar and stuff yourself with drinks. You’re not usually like that, you can count with the fingers of your hand the moments that you’ve drinked alcohol in your life, and all of them were for happiest reasons.
Now you’re drunk. Sad and drunk.
And that’s how you end up in the door of Dean Winchester’s room. Because he’s the only person you can trust in a moment like this, in a state like this. With your mind troubled like it is and your senses not at your best, he’s the only person who could give you the comfort you need.
So you knock on his door, wishing it wasn’t this late, so you didn’t have to wake him up.
He, of course, is there in a moment. Your drunk mind can’t help but admire his beautiful face and his strong body. Maybe it don’t have to do with the drinking, you also admire him when you’re sober.
“Y/n? What, it’s like two in the morning? What are you-?” he stops when he smells the alcohol “You’ve been drinking?” he sounds amused, you’re not usually like this. But deep down, he’s worried.
“Hmm” is all you say, and extend your arms in the air, like waiting for him to hold or grab you.
“What is it, darling? You’ve gone too far with the drinks?” he teases you with a smile, admiring you from a distance.
“Shut up” you groan.
“Hmm, so cute when you’re mad” he says with a smile, then grabs your hand and starts to pull you.
"Where are we going?" you stumble over your words.
“Just follow me” he leads you to the living room, and sits you down on one of the sofas “C’mon, now you’re gonna tell me what happened. Why are you drunk?” the teasing is gone, now his worried side is the dominant one.
"It's not important, it's stupid"
“C’mon, you wouldn’t have gotten drunk if it wasn’t important. You know you can tell me anything, it’s just me” he reassures you with a smile.
You swallow nervously, but finally say the truth in a whisper:
“Henry called me”
Every playful behavior Dean still had on him evaporates. His body goes stone-still and his jaw clenches. You look at him with guilt, like if it was your fault.
“When did he call you?” he asks in a grunt.
"A few hours ago" you answer "I'm not sure, I don't even know which hour we're in"
“What did he say?” his voice is merely a murmur.
"He wanted... he wanted to ask for forgiveness"
"For what? Did he say for what?"
"No, he just... said he was sorry, that he missed me"
“Well, he’s lying” the words let go of him as another grunt. He can't hide his anger any longer, the veins on his hands and neck visibly tensing.
"I know" you whisper "But I just... couldn't bear hearing his voice again, had to drink to forget it" you admit with guilt
He nods, he’s not mad at you, he understands you. He leans towards you, trying to steady his tone, to make it softer, even though he’s still mad as hell.
“Did you talk to him?”
“Yes” you whisper, embarrassed. You look down, not wanting to see his disappointed face.
He leans in even closer to you.
“What more did he say?”
"He asked me to be with him again"
“And what did you tell him?”
"I told him to leave me alone"
He nods, proud of you “That’s good”
He then looks to the ground, his jaw clenching.
“Dean? Are you mad?” you ask, worried, embarrassed.
You can see him swallowing the lump in his throat “Yes, mad at him”
“Not at me?” you ask, your eyes glazed.
"No, no… Never at you. God, never at you" he says,and his hand travels to your cheek, caressing it with care. Then a thought crosses his mind: “You didn’t think about getting back with him, did you?”
"I..." you look down "It's not easy to forget"
His hand goes back to his lap after hearing this. You feel his rage, his anger, his hands starting to tremble with the tension. You notice it and hold one of his hands.
“I’m sorry” you whisper.
“It’s okay, don’t be sorry” he says, your touching soothing him “Just… promise me you would never let him back into your life…” he looks at you seriously.
“I promise” you say after a few seconds of silence "Just… just if you promise me that you're not letting me alone"
“I promise” he says, the anger leaving his system after hearing your words.
You then fall into a strange silence, it isn’t uncomfortable, but it isn’t comfortable either.
Your drunk mind makes you dizzy, and you finally whisper: "Can you... can you hold me? Just for a moment?" Maybe it makes you braver too.
Dean moves instinctively, putting his arms around you. He pulls you close to his chest.
"I'm sorry for worrying you" you murmur against his chest.
"I know. It's okay" he replies, his voice now soft and gentle.
"Thank you, Dean" you whisper, and in your drunken state, you don't think when you let out: "I love you"
You feel his heart skip a beat, his hands tighten around you as he brings you closer...
"... what did you say?"
"Hmm?" you seem confused, but then repeat "I said I love you" you're drunk mind can't comprehend the power of those words.
His entire body freezes, but you don’t seem to notice. Instead, you let out a yawn.
He shifts, bringing you closer to his chest, moving his hand up to the back of your head, and caressing your hair.
He buries his face into the back of your neck, breathing in your scent, and as he does, he lets out the deepest sigh you've ever heard.
"I think I need to go to bed now" you say softly, yawning again.
"I'll carry you" he whispers.
"What a gentleman" you half joke with a drunk smile “But I can walk, thank you”
You both stand up and start to make your way towards your bedroom. He lays against the door-frame, making sure that you make your way safe to the bed.
“Good night” he says when he sees that you’re safe now. He’s turning around when he hears your voice:
"Can you sleep with me?" you whisper before he exits the room "I don't want to be alone" In a normal state, you'll be blushing like crazy upon saying those words, but your drunk state does something to your confidence.
He stares down at you, as you're laying on your back, your eyes half-closed as you watch him.
"You... you want me to stay?" He asks softly, leaning in closer to you.
"Mhm" you say, half asleep.
He sighs and nods. He lays down next to you. He’s unsure, should he cuddle you? But you answer that for him, you turn away from him and say:
“Hug me” So he does as you say, he spoons you.
"Go to sleep. I'll be right here" Dean whispers, kissing your hair.
You smile and finally get the sleep that you deserve.
The next morning, you wake up to find Dean wrapped around you on your bed.
You are lying on your side, and his arm is wrapped around you tightly, his face buried in the back of your neck. His body feels warm and comfortable.
It is like a dream, but a dream that is slowly becoming more real with each passing moment.
What happened yesterday? You can't remember almost anything, the only thing occupying your mind right now is the pain of the hangover.
You try to think of what you may have spoken about, what you may have said, but the haze of the alcohol isn't quite gone yet.
You smile though, feeling Dean’s closeness. Even with the pain in your head, you can still enjoy when the man of your dreams is hugging you.
You let out a contented sigh as you slowly stretch your muscles.
And suddenly, it hits you. You're alone in bed with Dean Winchester.
You just wish the alcohol didn’t make you make a fool of yourself yesterday. You start to panic. It's like your memories are slowly coming back to you, but you can’t put the pieces together, like a very messy and difficult puzzle.You sigh, and suddenly feel Dean moving, waking up.
"Hmm...." he murmurs, in a low, sleepy voice. His body starts to shift slightly.
You don't say anything, waiting for him to fully wake up
He's shifting a little bit in his sleep, until he wakes up slowly.
“Good morning”
"Morning" you whisper back.
You feel Dean's body shift again, moving a little bit closer to you, as he wraps his arm around you even tighter.
"What... What happened yesterday?" you ask, embarrassed "Did I... did I say something?"
A smirk plays on his lips.
"Something, yes" he replies softly. "You said a lot of things."
Your face turns warm with embarrassment, and you turn around in his arms to look at him "Like what?"
He raises an eyebrow, the smile only growing.
"You told me you loved me."
You feel your face warming up like crazy. You don't know what to say, or what to do, or where to look.
His hand travels to your warm cheek.
"Did you... mean it?"
"I... I was drunk... I probably didn't know what I was saying or doing" you try to lie, and fail completely at it.
He continues smiling.
"Maybe you were drunk..." he says, teasing "But were you lying?"
"I..." Your mind is racing miles per hour, trying to look for an excuse. But then it hits you: he has stayed with you this night, maybe because he feels the same way about you?
"Just answer me this, as honest as you can be: did you mean it?"
"Yes" you finally let out in a sigh
In a second, he flips you around until you're now laying on your back.
You can feel the warmth his body irradiates. You feel safe and sound there, but also embarrassed, how could you be so stupid to let out that you love him?
"Why did you stay the night?" you ask softly.
He smiles.
"Do you really need an answer?" He asks, his eyes gazing into yours. "And here, I was thinking it was obvious...."
"I need to hear it"
His face is so close he could just kiss you if he wanted "It's because I love you too" he whispers softly.
Your breath catches as you hear those last three words, those eight letters.
And just like that, in one motion, he closes his eyes and pulls you into a kiss. It takes you by surprise, but it’s a sweet kiss.
Your hands travel to his hair, pulling him closer towards you.
This is everything you've ever wanted in him. The warmth of his body, the softness of his touch. The closeness, the companionship. The vulnerability, the trust.
You sigh against his lips, content. You pull away from him slowly, and look in his eyes. His breathing is slow and heavy, but he's still smiling at you.
You can't help but chuckle out of pure joy. His smile widens when he hears you laugh.
"Happy?" he whispers, his breath hot and his body pressed against yours.
"Yeah" you whisper back.
“Good” he replies.
His body relaxes fully against yours, his breath slowing down.
"You have no idea... the things I've felt for you" he whispers “Every time I looked at you, I imagined just pulling you into my arms. Imagined kissing you. Imagined loving you”
“Dean…” you whisper, your eyes becoming moisty.
“Shh, don’t cry, don’t say anything, just listen to me”
“But I just… I feel like I don’t deserve you”
"You deserve this and more" he replies softly "You are brave. And intelligent. And thoughtful and warm and beautiful and… I just love you so damn much, y/n”
You're starting to feel overwhelmed with all the love you're suddenly receiving, you're not used to it.
"I just... nobody has ever loved me this much. Nobody" Not your family, and definitely not Henry.
"I'm sorry" he whispers, not sure what else to say "I'm sorry you haven't been feeling loved. That changes today, though. I’m gonna make you feel like the most loved woman in the world”
You smile, feeling already like the luckiest woman "You really mean it?"
He nods.
You smile and you can't help a tear streaming down your face, it just feels so overwhelming, to be this loved... in a good way, of course.
"Don't cry..." He whispers, using his thumb to wipe away the tear from your cheek.
You sigh, content like you have never feel before "Kiss me again, please, Dean"
The words are barely out of your mouth, and he's already leaning in and planting his lips on yours, gently yet firmly.
"Thank you" you whisper.
"For what?" he replies softly.
"For making me feel loved”
"It's my pleasure" he whispers "I finally feel like everything I've ever desired has come true. You are mine and I am yours, and nothing else matters."
"Nothing else matters" you can't help but whisper the Metallica song with a silly laugh.
You see the corners of his mouth turn into a smile.
"You're a bit of a goof, aren't you?" he sighs.
"Hmm" you sigh, still laughing.
"I like it." he replies, and his body moves lower so that he's now lying directly on top of you.
"Hmm, do you?" You feel your heart full of love. Henry used to tell you that you were stupid when you made comments like that.
“I love it” he confess “It’s adorable”
"I'm not adorable" you pat him on the arm, embarrassed.
“You kinda are. But it's alright. That just makes you cuter. I love the fact that you think you're a tough hunter, but in reality, you're adorable."
You frown "I could kick your ass if I wanted to"
He can’t help but laugh at that.
"I'd like to see you try, I'm sure that your cute little hands and tiny fingers could totally beat me" he says sarcastically.
You narrow your eyes and then push him so he's no longer on top of you. Instead, you flip you both over and end up on top of him, with your legs on either side of him. You catch him off-guard, and instead of fighting back, he chuckles softly and wraps his arms around you.
"Do you really think that you're stronger than me?" he says with humor.
You narrow your eyes "A fight isn't always about strength, you should now that"
"Yeah, you're right" he smiles, and your head is now resting against his chest while his arms are wrapped around you "You have to be smart, too. But I still think that I would probably beat you up" he adds teasingly.
"Not a chance" you refute "You're too rough"
"Maybe that's why I'd win. Because I'm rough and tough and wild. You're... fragile. Easily breakable. Your skin is soft and delicate, and while it's beautiful, it doesn't make for a good body for fighting."
"But I'm smarter, and faster. You wouldn't have a chance" you say, enjoying the banter.
"And yet, you're also shorter, and lighter. I could pick you up and toss you around like a doll" he replies with a smirk.
"You couldn't catch me" you assure.
"I'm pretty sure I could" he replies, smirking.
He slides down a little so that his hands are resting on your lower back and ass, his fingers gripping lightly into the soft fabric of your pants, caressing your lower back, moving slightly lower.
"Keep dreaming" you say, enjoying his touch.
"Oh, are you challenging me?" he asks, his tone full of humor.
His fingers keep moving, caressing your spine, and he leans in so that both his hands are resting on your ass now, as his eyes look into yours, full of teasing and humor.
You narrow your eyes "Mhm, and I still think I'll win"
"I think my hands are winning right now," he replies.
You continue narrowing your eyes "I could defeat you just with a kiss"
"Oh yeah?" he asks, "Do you really think your kiss would be that powerful in getting me to submit?"
"Mhm, wanna try it?"
"Alright then" he whispers "But I won't surrender. Let's see this... amazing kiss of yours."
You smile and approach him slowly, and then capture his lips with hunger. Your tongue entering his mouth causes him to shiver in surprise and pleasure. His body becomes weak with the sensation.
You continue the kiss for a little longer, enjoying the feeling of having him under your control. You lose yourself in the moment, and you don't even know how long you continue kissing, and how much time has passed.
When you finally break the kiss, he lets out a soft moan, and you can't help but just look at him with hungry eyes.
"Well?" you ask him.
"I give up" he whispers, giving in to the moment as he leans in again, capturing your lips with his once more. You sigh and now simply enjoy the kiss.
He does as well, allowing the kiss to continue for a long moment, before he finally pulls away.
“That was fun” you smile.
"Mhm" he nods, as his breath calms down.
Step Away From Him, Now
Dean Winchester x Fem!reader established relationship (nothing too detailed)
Other Characters: Sam Winchester (barely there), John Winchester
Warnings: canon violence (kinda?), language, mention of wounds, blood, wendigo mention, arguing, that’s it I think?
Summary: She's finally had enough of John treating Dean so horribly
A/N: This is kinda my take on how Dean used to talk about his dad. Probably made John out to be a little worse than he really was, but I always saw him as someone who pushed Dean to his limits when they hunted together
Word Count: 2712
John Winchester. Everyone in the hunting world knew that name. Winchester. Now, his sons Sam and Dean held the legendary last name in all the stories that were passed around.
John had been married to Mary, an amazing woman with hunter parents, who had wanted nothing more than to get out of the life she knew. She wanted to run as far as she could from the world of monsters and have a normal life with a husband who loved her and maybe a few little babies along the way. She did eventually make her way out of the hunting world and build the life she wanted. John loved her so much, and she did end up having two little baby boys after a few years, but the world of monsters didn’t leave her alone for long. She had gotten up one night to check on her youngest baby, little Sam Winchester, only for her world to come crashing down.
The story was well known now amongst hunters across the country. Sam and Dean were then raised in the world of monsters by their father who wanted nothing but revenge against the thing that killed his wife and mother of his boys. Now, that doesn’t mean John was winning ‘Father of the Year’ awards, his boys learned the hard way how to survive in the world filled with evil. Dean was practically forced to become his fathers little soldier, always taking orders, and doing as he was told in order to protect his younger brother.
My own mother had been friends with Mary before she left hunting to build her family, so when John and his boys turned up on our doorstep years after she died, my family didn’t hesitate to bring them in.
Over the years the Winchester boys and I grew up to be incredibly close. We learned to rely on each other during hunts, and once Sam had taken off for college, Dean and I became an unstoppable duo on hunts John sent us out on. We worked seamlessly together, always covering the others back and making sure everything was handled before the local law enforcement could catch up to us.
That doesn’t mean I always followed John’s orders. Dean took orders without hesitation while I stopped to question John when I knew a plan wouldn’t work or seemed a little too good to be true. Dean and I had been placed in the field as bait far too many times for me to blindly allow John Winchester to order me around anymore. My mother taught me well while I was growing up. She told me to always double check things before committing, make sure me and my partner were safe, and always watch my back.
Sam coming back to help Dean and I track John down made hunting even easier. A third set of eyes and a fresh take on the cases helped in ways Sam couldn’t even understand. Once we found John and managed to work a few cases as a group of four, I started picking up on things I hadn’t noticed when Sam wasn’t with us.
John was now always double-checking leads, making sure Sam was sent with plenty of weaponry and back up, while Dean and I were nearly forced to figure out our half the plan on our own without the promise of proper gear or even the availability to call for backup if something were to happen.
I had finally had enough when we were sent on a wendigo case John deemed “simple enough for the two of us to handle” and ended up with Dean and I nearly killed.
“I can’t take this anymore.” I half growled as we pulled into the motel parking lot John and Sam were staying in. “We’re gonna get killed one of these days because your father doesn’t give a shit about us.”
“Stop.” Dean parked the car. “He didn’t know there were more than one in those caves.” Again, Dean had an excuse to not blame his father.
My eyes were wide and mouth hanging open at his words. “You’re kidding, right? We didn’t do any of the research because he ‘had it covered’.” I moved my fingers with the quote John had said an hour before Dean and I left for the hunt. “He’s the one that said it was one and would be a simple case.” Dean stepped out of the car, favoring his right side from being tossed into some stone. I followed, carefully getting out of the sleek black Impala, and grabbing my bag from the back seat.
Everything in my body screamed in pain. My arms were bruised from where the creature had grabbed me, digging its nails into my skin, and bruising my once clear skin. Scrapes and deeper scratches littered my legs and arms from falling in rocks and being dragged down one of the tunnels. “Just stop.” Dean groaned, joining me on my side of the car and resting a hand on my cheek. “The important part is that we’re alive.”
His broken down and tired voice reduced my anger as I took in just how exhausted he looked. He and I had grown close over the years of hunting together, and that closeness eventually turned into love, that’s why we made such a great pair. I sighed and nodded my head, leaning in closer to his hand. “Ok, I’ll drop it for now. Just wanna grab a shower and pass out for the night.”
A soft smirk covered Dean’s face. “You and me both baby.” His arm drifted across my shoulders and pulled me into his side as we headed into the motel room to meet up with his family.
The moment the door was opened, and our bags were tossed to the floor, John was already up from the table and handing us a folder. “Got another one for you. A couple hours west of here that needs taken care of now.”
My hands clenched into fists as Dean took the folder and drifted over to the bed he and I shared to take a look. Everything in my body ached and I knew Dean was in the same boat, plus, he could do with about three days of sleep to make up for lost sleep over the last week. He was barely running on black coffee and the little food he ate between fighting monsters and catching maybe an hour or two of sleep each night. At the first sight of his eyes slipping closed as he read through the folder, my anger got the better of me.
“No.” I snapped, grabbing my bag from the floor, and moving to my side of the bed opposite Dean. “We’re not taking a hunt hours away tomorrow.”
“Excuse me?” John turned from the table.
I crossed my arms defiantly. “I said no. Can’t you hear?” Sam glanced at Dean in a way to figure out where my anger was coming from. “Dean and I haven’t had a break in weeks, John. Weeks. We need sleep, and time to heal.”
“People are dying out there. Don’t you get that?” John snapped, slapping down another few folders and a notebook.
“I do, and that sucks, but seriously? People die every day, sometimes luck runs out, and yeah, it’s really shitty to die from a monster mommy and daddy tell you isn’t real, but that’s the world we live in. If you’re so concerned about these people, then you can go deal with it.”
John looked like I had just smacked him across the face. “You need to get control over her.” His eyes had slipped over to Dean’s. “You’ve both got three hours till your asses better be on the road for Colorado.”
My mouth had dropped open in shock from John thinking Dean could or would control anything I did like that. I was prepared to give him a real piece of my mind when Dean finally spoke up. “No.” he stood from his spot on the bed and joined my side. “You know, we were nearly killed today. The freak got the drop on us with one of its buddies and dragged her down a tunnel. All because your research was wrong.” His voice was slowly growing in volume, and I was beyond thankful the motel was practically empty tonight. “You haven’t even taken a moment to ask if we’re ok. But yeah, dad, were gonna be fine.”
John launched into a rant on how Dean and I have been messing up every hunt over the last few months, coming back with more and more wounds, more complaints, and requesting more time between hunts. He threw every little thing at Dean’s face like he wasn’t already in pain from the day. I watched as Dean’s face slowly fell from the confident and angry man trying to protect me, to the look of a kicked puppy as his dad belittled him with his younger brother watching on. I could tell Sam didn’t know how to step in and stick up for Dean, so it was up to me to protect the oldest Winchester when no one else would.
“Back up.” That same angry growl from the car scratched at my words as I stepped beside John who had cornered Dean into the wall of the motel. “Step away from him, now.” My hands balled into fists, tighter and tighter with the longer John was taking to back away from his son. “I said back the hell up, now.”
His dark eyes flashed to my face as he stepped back half a foot. “The hell you say to me?”
I pushed my way between John and Dean, making sure to keep eye contact with John Winchester while I did. “You do not get to talk to him like that. Dean isn’t some little soldier toy for you to throw at the problems you think he can fix. He isn’t indestructible like you think he is. He’s human and needs a god damned break every once in a while. How can you not see that he doesn’t want to let you down but that he’s struggling to keep up with your constant demands? He does everything you ask, “keep an eye on Sammy, don’t let anything happen to Sammy”.” I started quoting him from the past few years. “You have two sons, John. Don’t you remember that? Two! Dean deserves the protection you give to Sam as well. He’s your kid too!”
Silence filled the motel room after my little outbreak, but I couldn’t tell if John was going to let it go for the night or continue to fight. “Dean’s the oldest. He knows the responsibilities that come with that.”
It felt like my skin was on fire with the anger that radiated through my body. “I need you to shut the fuck up and listen for once in your life.” Sam was silent and still as a statue on the bed, papers still scattered around him. “I don’t give a shit about if he’s the oldest or whatever is stuck in your twisted head. I understand you lost your wife, and baby Sam never got a chance to know his mother, and that’s horrible. But Dean lost his mom too. He lost her just like you and Sam did, but because he was four and not a baby, that means to you that he now deserves to be your slave for the rest of his life. It means hunting what you deem necessary and when you say so? He isn’t someone you get to command around for eternity.”
“And who the hell do you think you are, telling me what to do with my family. Last I checked, you weren’t a part of this family.” John’s anger was boiling over at this point. His face was bright red, and I swore I could see a vein in his neck pulsing. “You’re just some tag-along who thinks she can stick around with Dean long enough to be more than a piece of ass to him.”
That caused a deafening silence to flood the room that even a gunshot couldn’t overpower. “Right.” I nodded, willing the sting in my eyes to go away so John wouldn’t have more ammunition to throw at me. “Right. I’m here simply because I wanna be a late-night booty call to him…it couldn’t possibly be because someone needs to be on his side for once. Couldn’t be that he needs someone to watch his back on hunts because his father doesn’t care enough. Or it couldn’t be that I simply love him and want to be here for him, right? No, it’s absolutely because I wanna be his hook-up on the few nights where he isn’t struggling to stay awake because he has to finish some research you and Sam couldn’t do, or the other nights where he’s too busy being beaten by monsters.” I took a deep breath and stepped back an inch, barely leaving enough space between John and I before I turned towards the bed to grab my purse and gear bag. “Go to hell, John.” My shoulder slammed into his as I walked past him and out of the motel room.
I didn’t make it very far down the row of rooms before a voice could call and stop me in my tracks. “Wait a minute!” Dean’s voice echoed over the nearly vacant parking lot.
“What?” I asked as he joined my side, his green bag hanging from his hand. “Wait, I…Dean. Did he…”
“No. He didn’t throw me out.” Dean’s free hand came to rest on my shoulder. “I just ditched. I couldn’t let you leave alone after that.” Guilt tugged at my chest as I thought of Dean walking away from the only family he had left.
“I shouldn’t have said anything. It wasn’t my place and…”
He cut me off again. “No one’s ever stood up for me like that.” Dean was quiet as his eyes met mine. “I’ve never had someone in my corner against my dad before.”
“You don’t deserve the way he treats you.”
“I know. It’s always been hard to tell him when I need time off, or even just a break. He’s so driven and focused all the time on getting the thing that killed mom that I don’t think he even notices how he acts sometimes.”
I dropped my bag. “God, Dean. There you go again. You make up these excuses for the way he acts like its ok to treat you like a damn dog. I don’t care that he wants to find the thing that killed her, you and Sam want that just as badly but you two don’t go out endangering each other at every little possible chance you get. I’m sorry you guys lost her, that sucks, and I can’t imagine the pain you all felt, but he needs to understand that you can’t keep risking your life like he expects you to.”
He nodded at my words. “I know.” It was barely a whisper coming from him now. “I just don’t know how to tell him. You’ve seen it, the way he gets when he sets his mind to something.”
“I know.” It was my turn to nod. “You get it from him. You’re so focused sometimes on the hunt or helping someone that everything else kinda blurs.” I gently cradled his face in my hands. “There is one huge difference though. When your partner is hurt, or even struggling, you drop everything as fast as you can to go help them. You’re there in time to save me, every time I need you.”
“And I always will be, you know that, right?” Dean’s hands rested softly on my hips, drawing me in closer to his chest.
“I do.” I smiled up at him. “Now, what do you say to a drink at the bar down the street and a night spent in the car in the middle of nowhere?”
“I’d say that sounds like a great plan to me.” He let me grab the bag I dropped, pressed a soft kiss to the side of my head, and led me towards the infamous black Impala.
Deepest love - Flufftober 25
Tumblr media
Summary: Dean acts...odd.
Pairing: Dean Winchester x fem!Reader
Warnings: fluff, friends to lovers
Trope: Friends to lovers
Idea by the lovely @elle14-blog1
A/N: *Y/F/S = Your favorite song – reader’s choice is your favorite song
Kinktober vs Flufftober 2023
Tumblr media
“Aw, she looks so good, Dean,” you admired his car. Dean did a great job cleaning Baby. He took his time, cleaning every inch of his beloved car.
“Only the best for my two favorite ladies,” he flashes you a grin. The hunter cleaned his car to make sure you’d enjoy the next ride with his Baby. “We are ready to roll, sweetheart.”
“Me too,” you excitedly look at Baby. She looks shiny and brand-new after Dean took care of her. “She’s so pretty.”
“That she is,” Dean says to himself as he watches you look inside his car. “So, uh—I was thinking about having a nap on our ride. Do you want to drive?”
“What?” Sam and Castiel ask in unison as they watch Dean throw the keys at you. You catch them, giggling as Dean makes a joke about two hot girls going for a ride.
“But no one is allowed to drive your car,” Castiel cocks his head. He furrows his brows as he tries to find out what changed Dean’s mind. “Are you unwell, Dean? Do you need my help? Maybe your hands are hurting.”
“What? No! I’m fine,” Dean snorts. “Can a man not let his friend drive his car?” He purses his lips and glares at his brother and Castiel. “Now, get your stuff. We need to hit the road. I want to gank that monster scaring old ladies.”
Looking at the keys in your hands you smile. Dean trusting you with his beloved car proves he meant what he said a few weeks ago. “Dean, I’ll call shotgun for you,” you wink at Dean. “We are going to be driving buddies.”
Tumblr media
“What are we going to listen to today?” You glance at Dean in the passenger seat. “Dean? Mr. Music. What do you want to listen to?”
“Driver picks the music, sweetheart,” he flashes you a smile, “shotgun shuts his cakehole.”
“Awesome!” You exclaim. “How about…” You look at Dean again. “Ramble on, for starters. And then, we will listen to the best song ever, *Y/F/S!”
“I love that one,” Dean pats your hand. “Maybe we can listen to more Zeppelin and your favorite band later on.” He grins. “We are a perfect match.”
“Of course, we are, Deano!”
“What’s going on?” Sam whispers. “Did I miss something?” He frowns. No one is allowed to touch Dean's car or choose the music. Wait, since when is his brother looking at you like this?
“I think he’s in love with Y/N,” Castiel finally concludes. He nods to himself, convinced that his friend must’ve fallen in love with you. “She looks at Dean with heart eyes.”
“What? How do you know that term?”
“I watched humanity for an eternity,” the angel proudly states. He won’t tell Sam that his new hobby is to search for terms and trends on social media. “If you want to know more about human feelings, ask me.”
“Cas, that’s…” Sam glances at the angel sitting next to him, “good to know…I guess.”
“Hey, stop talking so loudly. We can’t hear our song,” Dean and you mutter in unison. "If you want to stay inside the car, stop talking so much."
“Heaven help us, Cas. My brother is in love with his match…”
Second Place | Dean Winchester
Tumblr media
Request - Can I request an angsty spn imagine where Sam is in love with deans gf but she definitely only sees him as a friend/brother because she is head over heels for dean?
A/n - I normally don’t write about love triangles because I don't like them so this was definitely out of my area of expertise. I hope you enjoy it nonetheless and it's angsty enough for you!
Category - Dean Winchester x Reader, Angst
Warnings - Pinning on sams end, fluff for reader and dean, kind of told through sam's pov, my first dean\spn fic so be nice, not proof read as always, thamk :p
Word Count - 1.3k
♡♡♡♡
There was never a time in Sam’s life when he didn’t come second place to his brother. That just came with the territory of being the little brother to Dean Winchester. The man who could get anything, everything and whoever he wanted with just a single look. After a while, he didn’t mind it though. He accepted his fate and made peace with it, but the one thing he could never let go of was coming in second place to Dean when it came to You.
The three of you had been as thick as thieves growing up. Your father and John Winchester had been best friends and hunting buddies, so naturally the three of you were always together. Your father would leave you with Sam and Dean as he and John went off hunting for the night. You being older than Sam, yet younger than Dean, naturally you clicked with Sam a little more during the young stages. Preferring to hang with him as Dean had grown more off putting and to himself, that's when Sam’s crush started on you. He loved that you were the one person who put him above Dean.
It was movie night? You’d choose to sit next to Sam and share your snacks with him. Long car rides in the back of the impala? Naturally, your head would fall over onto Sam’s shoulder as you slept. Starting new schools together? You’d cling more to Sam’s side as you were shy and nervous. Feeling as if he’d be the one to shun you from all those wondering eyes. Never once did Sam have the courage to speak up about his feelings towards you. Assuming that if he did and you didn’t feel the same, your bond would be ruined and you wouldn’t be his best friend anymore. Maybe he could live with just knowing that you’d put him first–until you didn’t.
It was your 17th birthday when everything changed. It had just been the three of you, sitting at the small hotel table with a cake and candles Dean had stolen from a nearby grocery store. You had hoped that your dad and John had made it back in time to celebrate, but they didn’t. So Sam and Dean took it into their own hands to cheer you up. They sat and sang happy birthday to you, loudly and obnoxiously to get you to smile.
“Thanks guys.” You smiled softly. You gave Sam your usual best friend hug. Your arms wrapped around his waist and his arms went around your shoulders. Only lasting for a moment, he always wished they lasted longer. But then you went to hug Dean. Sam’s heart dropped at the small difference in the hug. It was your arms around his neck, and Dean’s arms around your waist. A small rock was added as Dean’s arms loosened and lowered a bit more than Sam preferred. He watched as Dean whispered something in your ear, causing you to smile and hide your face into his neck.
It was then that Sam knew he was once again placed second to Dean, in the one way he wished, he hoped, would never happen.
YEARS LATER
The hotel room was thrown open as the three of you walked into the door. Defeat written all over your faces. Tonight, a hunt went terribly wrong. The person you had been trying to save had ended up losing their life anyways. Of course you knew that you couldn't save everyone, but nonetheless did it bother you when the creatures of the night won.
“I’ll get the kit.” You mumbled, after making sure Dean had gotten to the bed. He had been hurt the worst tonight, throwing himself in the line of fire.
Sam sat on his bed, watching you move about the room gathering the supplies you needed to tend to Dean’s wounds. Sam was hurt too and he’d known you’d get to him eventually, but even all these years laters, he was wishing that he was first on your patch up list. He sat with envy in his eyes, as you worked on Dean’s wounds. Hating the hushed whispers between the two of you that he couldn’t hear. It should've been him making you laugh in your saddest moments. Truthfully, he held resentment towards Dean for taking his best friend, his life long crush from him without a second thought.
“Sam?” You called to him, pulling him from his thoughts, “You okay?”
Clearing his throat, he sat up and nodded, “Yeah, yeah, I'm okay.”
You gave him a soft smile, sitting down in front of him, “ ‘Kay, let's clean that wound, yeah? I think you only need a butterfly band-aid.”
He nodded, letting you get to work on his small forehead wound that he could've cleaned himself, but he loved when you did it. He tried his hardest not to stare you in your face, but he couldn’t help but notice your beauty. Even with all the dirt and sweat on it from the previous couple hours. To Sam, you never have a bad day. To Sam, you were the most beautiful woman in the world and he was pissed that he missed his chance with you. Maybe, just maybe had he not let his thoughts get the best of him when he was younger, you’d be his and not his brothers.
“What’s on your mind, Sammy?” You asked him with concern laced in your voice.
Sam’s green eyes glanced around the room, Dean not in sight, before they met yours. Was this his chance? Would he be able to redeem himself and spill his true feelings to you? How would you feel? Did you feel the same? Would you leave Dean and be with him like he truly felt like should've been since day one?
“Y/n..” Sam started, his heart beating out of his chest as he was getting ready to spill his feelings out to you, “I’ve been wanting to tell you this for years.”
Your eyebrows jumped in curiosity, wondering what the hell Sam could have been keeping from you for years. Yet, as soon as Sam went to spill his guts, the hotel room door had opened again and Dean reentered the room.
“Got some more towels, we’ll need them.” He stopped in his tracks, looking over at the two of you, eyebrows furrowed, “Am I interruptin’?”
You looked back over at Sam, who now had an unreadable expression on his face, “Sam?”
His eyes shot back and forth between you and Dean before he swallowed his words, clearing his throat with the shake of his head, “No, no, I–uh, I was just gonna say thank you. For everything you do for me—and Dean.”
You smiled widely, “Oh, of course, Sammy. You’re like a little brother to me.”
At that moment, Sam could swear that he actually felt his heart shatter into pieces. Y/n’s words had crushed any hopes he had of her feeling the same about him. A brother, a little brother is what he’d always be to her.
He watched as she got up, making her way over to Dean, taking the towels from him, but not before she leaned up on her tippy-toes to give Dean a kiss. In Dean fashion, he wrapped his arm around her waist and leaned into it, deepening the kiss as if it was the last time he’d kiss her. Pulling away the couple whispered a plethora of ‘i love you’ and ‘i love you more’ before Y/n wandered to the bathroom so she could be the first to wash tonight off of her.
“Yo,” Dean called, cracking open two beers and passing one to Sam, “You good?”
Forcing a thin smile on his face, he accepted the beer, taking a long swig of it, cringing at the stale taste of it, “I’m great.”
Sam Winchester, always coming in second place.
Cutting left, she disappears into the denser tree line, taking the route he'd laid out for her to Baby. He could have led the way, but he wants to make sure she doesn't fall prey to the douchebags hunting them like animals.
Tumblr media
She rescued him from the basement where he was being held, but they hadn't made it far from the house when the bullets started flying. The twisted bastards must have known, simply giving them a head start under the guise of an easy escape. The small projectiles whistle through the air decimating the fresh foliage in tiny explosions of bark and greenery.
"Sooie!"
Clenching his jaw when the shout, accompanied by snorting sounds, reaches him, he stops and pushes up against a tree for cover. If they call out again, he can pinpoint their location. A few moments later, he's rewarded with, "Here, piggy-piggies."
Even though it's too dark to see clearly, he turns toward their voices, searching. The snap of a twig tells him they're headed in the opposite direction, so he sets off to follow her, cursing when a tracer sets the sky alight in a shower of white sparks and smoke. Glancing one last time in her direction, he takes off to the right to lure them away and give her a chance to get to safety.
It’s only been a matter of seconds when he feels the burn of molten metal bore through the meat of his shoulder. Stumbling, he manages to stay upright. The next round rips through his side, and another pierces his thigh, sending him to his knees.
Crawling over to a patch of undergrowth to hide, he grits his teeth against the pain. Hearing them crashing through the forest toward him, he slides further into the brush, arm and leg dropping when they land on nothing but air. “Shit.”
Cautiously looking over the edge, he can just make out the ground below as the last remnants of the tracer’s illumination fade. It’s about a five-foot drop. He debates letting them capture him to distract them from hunting her. Then again, what good will he be if they truss him up again …or worse.
There are four of them, and he’s not exactly in top form at the moment. She’s quick and smart. She’ll make it out. He decides to bide his time for now and assess his injuries before making a move. Clamping his mouth closed to quiet his breathing, he rolls over the ledge.
“Where did he go?”
“I saw him drop. He has to be close.”
Shuffling overhead sends debris raining down on him, and he presses himself beneath the outcropping as far as possible. His shoulder numbs as they thrash through the scrub and underbrush, searching. Then a shout echos through the darkness, and they take off.
Fear that they're going straight for her spurs him into action. It doesn’t matter now what happens to him. He needs to create a diversion. Sitting up sends a wave of dizziness and nausea through him. He won’t make it back up the rock face, but he needs to get out in the open and get their attention. A couple of deep breaths, and he’s on his knees, grunting with a final push upward.
Stumbling away from the overhang, he makes it a couple of yards before collapsing. Fuckers must have tipped the bullets with something. There's no way those shots should be taking him out this quickly.
“Son of a bitch!” Rolling onto his back, he berates himself. He should have just stayed with her. At least they would be together.
He's always known that his end would be bloody, and she thought hers would be the same. They'd talked about it in hushed voices, bodies moving in sync, hands tracing over sweat-slicked skin, fingers pressed against pulse points. Affirmation to each that they were alive and safe. They'd promised each other that no matter what, they'd be together when the end came, but he'd silently sworn to keep her from falling prey to a hunter's end. He hopes fate doesn't intervene and lets those sonsofbitches cut her down.
She deserves better.
Making one more attempt to move, he can barely lift himself an inch off the ground. A piece of bark scrapes his neck as he falls back into the mossy earth. Bugs chirp and hum, leaves rustle, and a frog croaks nearby, a soothing lament to his ragged breaths. Life fading faster than the blood flowing, he tries to focus, to send a silent message to the stars of all the things he should have said to her. Words he should have whispered in her ear or said aloud daily but will never get to say now.
Lips soft and sweet brush along his jaw, breath warm as her tongue sweeps over his, fingers card through his hair, nails gently scraping over his scalp, the weight of her body a comfort. The memories attempt to swallow him and ease the guilt, but the exigency to protect her fights against the lull of contentment. Feeling his pulse spike, then slow, breaths becoming irregular, he shivers beneath the layers of flannel and canvas, his vision blurs, thoughts drifting. He wonders if he'll know his reaper. Maybe they'll tell her for him.
Another tracer illuminates the canopy of trees in the direction she'd gone, and he cries out in anger and frustration. The night falls eerily silent beneath the brightness and then roars to life as a wave of gunfire fills the misty air, along with cries of fury and pain. He swears he can hear her screaming for him and prays they didn't catch up to her. He calls her name one final time. A spray of dirt and decay shower his face as something lands hard next to him, but he's too far gone to do anything, sinking into the peaceful abyss.
He jerks awake, grunting as pain shoots through his entire body, rippling from the epicenters of his leg and shoulder wounds. His chest heaves as he breathes through the worst of it, hands fisting in the fabric beneath his palms. He hears a click and a beep, the pain recedes to a tolerable level, and then awareness hits. Snapping his eyelids open, he's met by blinding light and immediately closes them. Definitely not Hell, but he gets a sense that it's not Heaven, either. You never know with those dicks, though.
Movement to his right and the sweetest sounding growled, "Thank fuck!" have him peeling his eyes open again. This time in a squint. Softly calloused fingers wrap around his wrist, pressing into his pulse, and a palm is carefully flattened over his heart.
A few blinks later, he's met with trembling lips and a tear-filled gaze when their eyes fully connect.
"Y- you came b- back." His voice cracks, throat raw, the words laced with anger and awed adoration. Reaching for her, he's stopped short by the tug of an IV needle and monitor wires and drops his hand to his chest to cover hers.
A cheek damp with tears presses against his, and she whispers, "I promised, too."
A friend of his had dragged him along, claiming that the College experience was not just about studying. Sam didn’t want to be there, but he also didn’t want to disappoint him.
He ended up letting his friend disperse, interacting with the people he knew. Sam knew no one at this party, it consisted of another schools students and a few familiar faces. He nodded at a few but found himself standing in a corner and trying to choose which assignment he was going to finish off when he got to his place.
Which is when he saw you, with one of the biggest smiles on your faces. And Sam couldn’t help but smile along with you. It didn’t matter that he didn’t know what on Earth was so funny, he wanted to smile because you were. It seemed like everyone circled you.
Your friend had noticed him staring your way about a minute ago, but didn’t want to be wrong. So she kept moving you around and dragging you to new people. Lo and behold, his eyes followed. Based on her check, he seemed sweet. He didn’t stare at your ass or your chest, just your face. He laughed and smiled when you did.
He seemed to admiring, and she liked it. Sam’s friend, Mason, returned to the room with a girl on his arm. She watched as Sam side hugged him once he returned.
Mutual friend? Check!
“If you drag me anywhere else my arm is going to fall off Jess!” The party seemingly faded away as you made eye contact with him, god was he cute. His gorgeous brown eyes and hair were more than enough to render you tongue-tied. Sam looked like a deer in headlights as he stared at you, why were you in front of him?
Had he been staring too long?
“Mace! There you are.” The two of them exchanged pleasantries, “Oh, this is my friend Y/n. Mason, Y/n.” Mason reached his hand out to you as you smiled at him. Sam found himself holding his breath, your smile is even bigger now.
He wanted you to smile his way, “This here is Sam! Sam, Y/n.” Jess and Mason shared the same idea as the three others watched as you smiled, “It’s nice to meet you Sam, you can just call me Y/n/n.” He snapped out of his daze and shook your hand, hoping it wasn’t sweaty.
“Sam, I’m Sam. You know that, Mason told you. But uh, you can call me Sammy.” Masons eyebrows furrowed at the notion, he never called him Sammy. The girl on his arm tugged, “Let’s let these two get, acquainted.”
And that you did.
For the rest of the night, you may not have had as much to drink as the others, but you had one of the best nights of your life. You started off in the corner of the room, slowly getting to know eachother. The night led you outside, thumping music and shouts drowned out by the others presence.
Then somehow you ended up heading out for Ice Cream and then at the park. Sitting on swings and laughing at his awful jokes, you’d never felt more care-free. The night was full, and you were thankful.
He shone, if that made sense. Sam was a shot of espresso, and you were an addict. As cheesy as it sounds, you found him to bring color into your life. Your life wasn’t dreary and depressing, but it was boring. You found yourself going from class to your bed, the library, or working.
You had friends, yes, but not too many you could actually rely on if need be. That you trusted. And within one night, you found yourself pushing Sam to the top of that list.
Sam liked you from the get go, how could he not? With your infectious laughter and smile, kind eyes and understanding self. And you listened, with your whole body. You digested everything you heard and were full of empathy. He needed someone like you.
You’d been best friends since then, your first year of college. Best friends and undeniably in love with eachother. Not that the two of you ever noticed. It infuriated Jess and Mason to no end. The two of them saw it, every time you all hung out. The way Sam clung onto everything you said, as if it was Gospel.
The way your eyes practically glistened when he spoke or smiled. You looked up to eachother with so much emotion it hurt the soul. And the second the other was approached? All bets were off.
No man or woman in their mind continued to pursue you once they caught a glimpse of the huge, 6’5 giant behind you. Sometimes they’d keep going, but then he’d come up behind you with some stupid excuse to get you to go back to the table. And that person was left face to face with Sam and his unsettling smile, “You waiting for something?” A quick shake of the head and they were gone.
But it didn’t matter, whether or not you got together or not. You had eachothers backs at the end of the day, no matter what was going on. Even if you were fighting.
The night Sam’s life changed, you were drunk.
The two of you had an argument earlier on.
You ran your fingers through your hair as Sam followed you through the hallway of the apartment building, “Stop walking away from me!” You stopped in your tracks and turned to him, “Stop telling me what to do!”
“I’m not telling you what to do, I’m trying to keep you safe Y/n/n.” His voice was softer now, and it pissed you off. How on Earth were you supposed to be angry with him when he looked like that. And then the eyes? Ugh!
“It seems like you’re always babying me Sam! I can go out with who I want to.” He sighed, taking a step closer he held onto your hands, “I’m not babying you, again, I just want to keep you safe.” You pursed your lips before crossing your arms, “What’s wrong with Ben?”
He’s a vampire.
“Y/n, please.” He was pleading, but you didn’t care.
“No! I never get a clear answer from you. Why don’t you want me to go out with him?” Your voice quivered as you waited for his response. You noticed his jaw clench, you could tell he was keeping his answer under wraps.
Is it because you like me?
“I- I-,” The words wouldn’t form in his mouth and he couldn’t find a decent answer.
“Good one Sam. I’m leaving.”
He watched as you entered the elevator, guilty eyes unwilling to meet his. He sighed as his head hung low, hands stuffed into his pockets.
Sam had been invited to go out that night, he turned it down. Jess had let him know which club the two of you had gone to, and kept him updated on whereabouts. If you needed a ride and he was out, it would take him about thirty minutes to get to you from his party.
A lot can happen in thirty minutes.
His phone ringing drew him out of the light sleep that he’d fallen under, “Hello?” The sleep in his voice was evident to Jess, “Hey Sam. It’s Y/n time.” He scoffed at the term whilst chucking on a jacket and grabbing his keys, “I’ll be there in 10.”
You hadn’t wanted to see Sam, which was what you’d told Jess, repeatedly. Even if it was most definitely not true. Sam and Jess had successfully stuffed your unconscious self into your car, you’d had Jess pick you up after the argument.
He’d been carrying you to his bed when you’d stirred, “I’m sorry. F-for fighting with you. Ben’s a bitch.” Sam laughed at your crude language as he laid you down on the your side of the bed. You’d claimed it the second he’d invited you over to his new place. “Glad to hear it Y/n/‘.” Sam settled on his knees, removing your heels.
“Sweetheart?” Hair fell in front of your face as you turned to face him, “Mhm?” He moved it behind your ear, “You okay if I change you?” A half-assed thumbs up and a lopsided smile was all you could muster. He knew you wouldn’t mind anyways. You’d told him on multiple occasions that you’d murder him if he let you sleep in your makeup too.
“Could you ever be friends with me if I always had run down make up slobbered over me all the time?” You both sat in front of the TV, chowing down on pizza. “I thought that was your usual look?” The pillow you threw his way had begun a pillow war.
He removed your dress before picking out a shirt of yours and boxers. Since it was your favourite combo. Sam smiled at the notion of you practically swamped by his clothes. Using the makeup wipes you had stashed in the bathroom, he gently cleaned your face before settling in for the night. You quickly turned over to bury into the side of your personal furnace.
Sam’s eyes shot open at the sound, it was darker than before, later in the night. You being settled into his side checked off the possibility of you rattling around in the kitchen for a midnight snack. Quickly checking it out he was met with his brother Dean after a tussle.
“Whoa, easy, tiger.” Sam glared at Dean whilst trying to catch his breath, “Dean?” He laughed at Sam, “You scared the crap outta me!” Dean grinned, “That's 'cause you're out of practice.”
Whether he was offended or annoyed, Sam took the opportunity. He grabbed Dean’s hand and managed to turn him and they ended up on the floor.
Dean groaned, “Or not.” Dean tapped him twice where Sam was holding him. “Get off of me.” A small smile came across the youngest Winchester’s face as he rolled to his feet and pulled Dean up.
“What the hell are you doing here?”
Brushing himself off he straightened up, “Well, I was looking for a beer.”
Dean placed his hands on Sam’s shoulders, shaking once, and letting go. Sam was understandably confused, “What the hell are you doing here?” The elder of the two relented, “Okay. All right. We gotta talk.”
“Uh, the phone?” Sam crossed his arms as Dean rolled his eyes, “If I'd'a called, would you have picked up?”
Fair point.
The murmurs and bumps were more than enough to wake you up. You made your way to the source before turning the light on. Cursing whatever Sam chose for you to wear, it was cold.
“Sammy?” Your voice was like honey to the two of them, Dean couldn’t help but look at you appreciatively whilst clocking onto the fact that you called him Sammy. The boxers, the bare legs and the cute tired look on your face.
Sam and Dean turned their heads in unison to the sweet voice, “Y/n/n. Hey. Dean, this is my gir— friend. Uh, best friend. Y/n.” Sam cringed internally at his words.
Your face was painted in confusion as your brain finally processed his words, “Wait, your brother Dean?”
You smiled as Sam nodded, you’d always wanted to meet him. Dean grinned at you and moved closer.
“Oh, I love the Smurfs. You know, I gotta tell you. You are completely out of my brother's league.” You stuttered at the prospect of being Sam’s girlfriend. But you weren’t in the mood to deny it unless he did.
“I—, we aren’t— ,” By a glimpse you could see Sam’s eyes staring straight into Dean’s head, “Alright, why don’t you back up a little Dean?” Sam spoke as Dean laughed, “Just let me put something on.” As you turned to go a voice stops you.
“No, no, no, I wouldn't dream of it. Seriously. Anyway, I gotta borrow your boyfriend here, talk about some private family business. But, uh, nice meeting you.” You smiled at him, “Nice to meet you too Dean.”
“No.” Sam goes over to Y/n and put his arm around her, “No, whatever you want to say, you can say it in front of her. She’s my best friend.” That’s how you two were, touch was never weird for you two. It’s why you were always mistaken for a couple.
Dean sighs, “Okay.” He turns to look at them both straight on, “Um, Dad hasn’t been home in a few days.” Sam nodded along, “So he's working overtime on a Miller Time shift. He'll stumble back in sooner or later.”
Dean ducked his head and looked back up at the couple in front of him.
“Dad’s on a hunting trip, and he hasn’t been home in a few days.”
Sam expression didn’t change as he nods along. Y/n glanced up at him with a frown, “You never told me your Dad still hunts.” Sam’s lips pressed into a tight smile, “Y/n/n, excuse us. We have to go outside.” You nodded at him, “Can I borrow you, really quickly?”
Dean nodded as Sam smiled, “Of course.” Sitting down on the bed as Sam sat next to you, “If your dad’s missing then are you going to go look for him?” He didn’t know yet, he didn’t even know the whole story yet. “It depends I guess. Where he last was and what Dean tells me.”
“But what about Monday?” Sam couldn’t help but smile, of course you were worried about things that weren’t yours. “I’ll be back in time, I swear Y/n/n.”
He glanced over at you, your hands were in your lap as you smiled, “I know you haven’t told me what your dad hunts. But, I’ve seen your old diary.” His eyes immediately widened, “Y/n—,”
“I believe it, don’t worry. How can I not? I’ve watched my fair share of horror films and Buffy. Plus, my mum always used to tell me to keep an open mind to everything.” Sam had to take a second to grasp everything that had tumbled out from between your lips, “Wait— you knew?”
Your giggles were prominent, until it blew out into a laugh attack, “You should see your face! Of course I knew!” His eyebrows twisted as he pinched the bridge of his nose, “I don’t— what?” You grabbed his hands and clutched onto to them, “Baby, come on. All the random facts you always have, that one time you kept talking about the inaccuracies about Vampires. And then today,”
Sam’s face looked as if it had been drained or color, “If this is about—,”
“You sent an article that morning about Vampires and how they should actually be beheaded. And then a random story about them getting close to people abnormally quick. Which is exactly what happened with Ben. I got mad at you because I couldn’t figure out why you wouldn’t just tell me.”
Sam sighed, “Well you can’t blame me for being cautious. And most people don’t handle the whole, ‘Ghosts are real’ bit that easily.”
“Well I’m not most people Sammy.”
“No, no you’re not. You’re better, you always have been Y/n.” The air in the room had apparently been drained, since you couldn’t breathe. Not with those gorgeous eyes staring down at you.
“Yeah?”
“Yeah.”
“If you’re not about to kiss me I give this interaction a minus 0 out of 10.” Sam scoffed, “So you’re rating me now?” You jokingly nodded as his hand was placed on your cheek before kissing you.
And God was it worth the wait.
As you pulled away you couldn’t believe you finally had him.
“100/10.”
“What an honour.”
You couldn’t help yourself as you kissed the tip of his nose, “Anything for something as cute as you.”
“Who, little old me?”
if you could spend a day with dean, what would you do?
go for a drive *sighs*
drive. drive. drive.
windows down, hair a mess, stopping for snacks shared at the bench seat of the impala or snacks shared sitting on the hood. feet out the window resting against dean, him playfully belting out to songs and grumpily letting you pick the music sometimes, “don’t tell sam.”
dean winchester x afab!reader — smut, 18+ only, nsfw, fwb/fuck buddies situation is how i imagined it, but however you wanna read it :)
Tumblr media
“Fuck, Dean! Right there!” you cried out from underneath the man pounding into you. He had you flat on your stomach, his forearms on either side of your head holding himself up. You were caged in — and you fucking loved it.
“Yeah, baby, you like that?” Dean practically growled in your ear. His hot breath curled through your hair as he grunted with the force of his thrusts. You inhaled his scent as his body pressed to yours. Whiskey. Leather. Something so distinctly Dean.
“So, fucking, much, De,” the words came punching out of you as his hips kept a steady pace. He pressed wet kisses along your jawline and down your neck, and you let out a moan, tilting your head to grant him even better access.
Dean gladly took advantage of your instinctive submission, his kisses growing harsher, and you knew you’d find marks there in the morning. Worth it. You fucking loved the feeling of his teeth scraping along your skin, and he was nothing if not observant. The past few times you’d done this together, he’d taken mental notes, and it showed.
Not that the first time was bad, or anything less than great, actually. The rumors about Dean Winchester’s sexual prowess certainly were true. Not only was he exceptionally gifted below the belt, but he also made it his mission to give his partner as much pleasure as possible, and as much as you’d rolled your eyes when Dean had referred to himself as a “god in bed,” you couldn’t say he was wrong.
Hence, why you found yourself falling into bed with him again, and again, and again.
You could feel Dean shifting slightly over you, and suddenly, you felt his fingertips brushing lightly over the column of your throat, a stark contrast to the way he touched you everywhere else. You nodded your assent to him, “C’monnn, do it already!”
Instantly, his palm was flat against your neck, his thick fingers pressing, encircling your throat and forcing your head up. “Better watch the attitude, darlin’,” he warned, his lips brushing your cheek tauntingly as his grip slightly lessened your airflow. “You know who’s callin’ the shots right now.”
“Yes…sir…” you choked out as his fingers pressed tighter.
“Ah, yeah, that’s my girl,” Dean grunted, his lips brushing your ear just enough to make you wild with need for him. Each of his thrusts forced something in between a whine and a moan from your throat, and you slapped your palm over your mouth to try and keep the last bit of your dignity.
But Dean had other plans.
“Hands off,” he grunted, his hips never faltering. His big palm slapped down on your wrist, closing around it, and jerking your hand away. “Wanna hear ya whining for me.”
As soon as your hand left your mouth, Dean slammed his hips hard against you.
“Fuck, Dean!” you yelped as he rammed into your cervix.
“Aw, it’s okay, baby,” he taunted. “I know you can take it. My big, bad hunter girl’d never let herself go down without a fight, hmm? Remember what you told me yesterday?”
His voice had dropped even lower, taken on a darker tone, and his breathing was raspy. Even still, his pace was relentless.
“Ow, Dean, fuck off!” you huffed at his teasing.
Crack. His palm came down harsh on the side of your ass, and this time, he did stop. He pulled all the way out, and suddenly, you were flat on your back, lying underneath him. He loomed over you, smirking dangerously, and you knew you’d fucked up.
“Ohhh, sweetheart, you should’ve known better than to talk to me like that,” he growled out, and you swallowed nervously.
“M’sorry?” you tried hesitantly. But Dean just scoffed, shaking his head, and pinned your wrists above your head.
Shit.
The past year had definitely been wild. More demons, ex-girlfriends, selling souls, all of this in a short period of time.
What Dean did was stupid, everyone knew that. His anger and sadness took over his already not-so-logical brain. He couldn't let that hold him back anymore.
He can't take by what he did. Now, he's waiting for his final hour. Sam's efforts for trying to get his brother out of this deal, seem to all fall short. He didn't want to lose his brother for something so foolish.
These events haven't been so great for Y/N either. She had only been in the business for a few years, she started after she met the Winchesters. They became close after the boys had removed a poltergeist from her apartment.
She saw this as an opportunity for a new life, full of adventure and being able to help people from evil. She's been running around the country with them ever since.
Her personality was the opposite of Dean's which would make you think they didn't like each other. But they were closer than she was with Sam. She balanced out the boys. They're bickering and constant fighting had decreased since they became a little group.
This soul-selling situation built a wall in their relationship. He didn't tell her what he was going to do nor did he tell her after the fact. She thought they shared everything, apparently, she was mistaken.
For a few days she didn't speak to him, which was awkward since they still would share a bed. Dean would refuse to sleep with Sam and he wouldn't let Y/N sleep on the floor so he made her sleep next to him.
Thankfully, he took her aside and apologized for not telling her what he'd done. He hated that he did that to her, it pained him to see her upset.
He'd always been so fond of Y/N, he couldn't explain why. She was the coolest chick he'd ever met and she took care of him when he didn't know he needed it. There may have been a feeling or two somewhere in this friendship, but neither of them knew how to express it properly.
-
They have been looking for Lilith for what seemed like ages. Sam had been trying to get the two of them to listen to Ruby. It's kind of hard to trust a demon when they're trying to kill you all the time.
Ruby had insider knowledge of Lilith, why shouldn't they trust her? At this point, desperation had taken over Sam. His options were sparse, he'd blindly follow a demon if that meant saving his brother.
Y/N had a feeling that trusting her wasn't a good idea. It seemed too good to be true. A demon who doesn't like being a demon? sketchy. She told them about how she felt, but this seemed like a family matter.
It was the day before everything had gone down, before they went to New Harmony. The group had been researching, Y/N wasn't sure what they were looking for. It felt like they were just killing time as the end approached.
She was staring at some sixteenth-century book, her eyes heavy. Trying to understand old English isn't an easy task. She sets down the book deciding it was useless at this point. She went into the small motel bathroom to get ready for bed.
Sam was already in bed, Dean was wide awake sitting at the small table in the room. Y/N knew he must've been exhausted, the past few months wore everyone down.
"Dean you should get some rest" she said
"Yeah" he sighed getting up from the table, climbing into bed next to her. She turned off the side table light, turning so her back is facing him.
Dean stared at the ceiling, not thinking about sleep. His mind raced with images of what he feared was his future. He felt Y/N tossing and turning trying to get comfortable until she gave up.
Now she was facing him, it was too dark to see if he was awake or not,
"Dean?" she whispers
"Yeah?"
"Are you afraid?" she had been thinking about this since the day she found out about his deal with the devil. It must be eating at him, terrified of what's to come.
"Very" he admits turning to face her "I don't have any faith in these plans to save me"
"Don't say that, maybe there's a chance" she didn't sound too convinced herself
"Y/N, you and I both know better. I'm going to die"
"I don't like to think about that, makes it too real" the small amount of light shining in the room highlighted her face, Dean could see the pain on her face
"Everything will be okay Y/N, I promise" He took his hand and light cusped her cheek "You and Sammy will be fine without me, you'll go on kicking demon ass while I'm in the firey swimming pools of hell"
"It's not funny, Dean" she stifled a laugh, lightly hitting his chest
"I know" his voice extremely low
She could see the outline of his face, tracing every sharp feature in her head so it's stuck in her memory.
In the back of her mind, she thought something would happen between them. They shared many stolen glances over the past year or so, both seemed to be scared to allow themselves to be happy. If they furthered their relationship, it would make their job more dangerous. Too many emotions to cloud their judgment.
This was the end, that stuff didn't matter anymore, it was time to stop holding back. She slightly sits up, leaning down toward Dean catching his lips with hers. He was a little off guard but immediately kissed her back.
She pulled away, not wanting to get carried away, especially since Sam was like two feet away from them.
"What was that for?" Dean asked taken aback
"Might be my last opportunity to go for it" she answered, he could hear the smile in her voice
"I think this is a good way to go out" he says going in for another kiss
As their make-out session got more heated, his hands started to travel down to her waist. Making her push him away
"nope, not now" she told him
"C'mon, these could be my last hours on Earth" he pleaded
"How about, if you make it out alive, I'll think about it"
"Fine" he sighed "you're such a tease" he whispered in her ear
She kissed his cheek, cuddling into his chest. He wraps his arms around her, holding her tight against him. He didn't want this moment to end, he knew it would be his last great memory.
"Ahem" Sam clears his throat "You guys are gross"
"Sorry bro" Dean fake apologized
What followed this event was heartbreak. They found Lilith, they just weren't powerful enough to defeat her.
Dean had to make good on his end of the deal. All of their efforts were for nothing.
Sam lost his brother and Y/N lost her love.
