Viewers disclaimer: I don’t want to offend anyone who has mental illness. This is just my perception of a fictional character. Mental illness is different for anyone but if anyone thinks I’m portraying anything wrong please let me know.

Crescenta Butterfly’s chapter in the magic book of spells was very interesting. She might be portrait as the spoiled princess ego brat or a little girl that needs help. The description of her spells, journal entries, and mewman writing gave me the impression of someone with mental illness. I’m not a psychiatrist but her symptoms are sort of remind me of someone with schizophrenia or bipolar disorder.

Since there wasn’t really much character development, I thought I draw out the what if… what if she was suffering from early stages of schizophrenia and the one made it worse. She experiences delusions, visual, audible, and textile hallucinations, depression, anxiety, and extreme sensitivity.

Dirhhennia probably noticed it but everyone else would shut her down anytime she would bring it up. Of course her mother wouldn’t want to acknowledge any issues about kids and want everything to be fine. That the problem would go away on its own. To Dirhhennia, that would make everything worse. Dirhhennia really cares about her sister but in Crescenta‘s mind she is portrayed as someone who hates her. That would be tragic for both princesses.

Queens of Mewni headcanons

Have some headcanons of some queens of Mewni!

Festivia obviously favored Cresenta over Dirhhennia. Even hoping that her youngest daughter would be allowed to be her heir, which eventually happened.

Comet and Etheria did not get along growing up, at all.

Cresenta was the one who arranged Rhina’s marriage to John, not really caring that her daughter objected to it.

Celena taught Comet how to cook.

Rumors went around that Feativia had many extramarital affairs and that Cresenta was the result of one, and that she was an illegitimate heir.

Rumor also had it that Rhina was actually Dirhhennia’s and Chad’s daughter, and that Cresenta took and raised her as an heir after turning Dirhhennia into a wolf.

Celena was dubbed the most beautiful queen of Mewni by the people.

Jushtin gave Eclipsa her signature hat as a birthday present.

Estrella made the tapestries of the previous queens.

Comet and Lazlo divorced shortly after Felicity was born.

Celena did have some demon traits inherited from her father, most notably her fangs. But she kept those traits a secret.

Eclipsa often went to the Spiderbite kingdom to visit her aunt and uncle.

Estrella was dubbed the most loved queen of Mewni.

I feel so bad since when I tried writing stuff about Dirhenia my phone kept auto correcting it to diarrhea. I've seen people write analysis and say its suppose to come from hennia and something related to spheres. Idk. I just hope the writers weren't being jerks when they came up with the name.

Unfortunately, it is likely that at least part of why Dirhhennia got her name was because of what other word it looks similar to, though unless we get a pronunciation guide, I've been mentally saying it as "Dir-henny-uh", with the first sound coming from "dirt".

One analysis I've seen is that depending on where you think the "Hennia" part of her name comes from, that could mean either blessed or troubled, and the "Dir" refers to someone who lived on muddy land. We don't know much about her and Crescenta's father besides the fact that he was a prince of some place called the Musty Mountains, and a name like that feels like it'd be fitting in that setting. Perhaps he named Dirhhennia and Festivia named Crescenta?

Who's your favorite Queen of Mewni?

out of all the ones we know about, i think i have a weird soft spot for jushtin in particular

he doesn't get much in the book but what we have makes him pretty interesting, his mother had such high expectations for him, only for him to not meet them whatsoever and by the sounds of that, her response was to have another baby, a girl, to surpass him

immediately taking away his power and any position he had.

jushtin absolutely is very irresponsible, and didn't take the role as a future heir seriously, but at the same time the fact his mom basically gave up on him and had another child just so he no longer had to be the heir is kinda screwed up and a little heartbreaking.

he still does some diplomatic stuff later in life so it seems he wasn't fully out of the picture and i'm going to assume his life with his wife was happy, tho we never hear much about any of these butterfly branch families after the fact......but he's clearly very smart so really it sounds like his mother just didn't care to really help him improve.

you can't help but feel kinda bad for him, he's the only queen that has a backstory even like this.

Yeah festivia gave cresenta the throne instead of dirhhennia, also implying she gave up on dirhh as well, but the book never implies she gave birth to cressie BECAUSE of dirhh, it comes off more like cressie was just the better canidate (As messed up as cressie is).

also, gotta admit, him being solaria's brother is super interesting, i just kinda wish it was actually explored because it really isn't in either of their chapters, or even eclipsa's, and it sure is not in the show.

I dunno, wasted potential if you ask me.

if you can give star vs anything, lotta great ideas, just....usually either unexplored or mishandled.

Also, him having clover markings while being inherently unlucky is great btw

Big info of the day: moon is born in 1978 so she is 37-years-old in 2015 and in my story moon will saddly be killed in 2020 (at the age of 42) by old-radioactive-magic-radiation and its so poisoning it killed moon when she was in the magic-VR world to find (the-magic-knigt) who is the son of Justin-butterfly and  minna-loveberry and his name is jimmy-loveberry-butterfly and he is the one who is calling on moon from roots of the willow of info (its the little-baby-girl of the worldtree Yggdrasill) and Jimmy told moon of the staff-of-celena and its demon powers to protect and heal moons-body {so moon goes out on an big 2years adventure and she gets the staff from the oni-demon-maid of  7 butterfly princesses (the princesses whas festivia/dirhhennia/Crescenta/rhina/celena/estrella) and after estrella became queen so was her creed at its end and she use the staff to go out in the big multiverse and she is an allseeing oracle so she knew moons life was at its end but she gave moon the powerful staff-of-celena to use its magic in her last 3-years-of- life}.{later [after-3-years] Jimmy called out to janna and marco to be helping moon find the grave of the man of, the little shy demon girl, of the riddleing queen, to find him in estrellas mind to find the willow of info so moon can find all the info she needs to save earth and mewni for the two worlds are destroying itself from impact}.(moon finding the grave of the dad of estrella and janna takes dna of the dad of estrella to use in stars own mind-vr-box so moon can reliving estrellas life from the {ages of 5 to 10 to 13} and moon sees Jimmy using estrella(13-years-old) to unlock the door to her dads clans secret tempal but her dad found out and Jimmy is in fighting with estrellas dad and Jimmy falls in to the roots of the tree and estrella aktivated the tree with her tree magic from her dads side of the family).(moon goes out of the box). NOTES ON THE SPELLCASTERS CARDS

Part 1

1. The cards apparently exist in-universe because they are taped to the pages, Star had put yellow squiggly borders around hers.

They are likely made by Glossaryck, along with detailed illustrations of the wands, millhorses, and drawings of the spellcasters used for spellcasting instructions.

2. The cards are usually in the same page as the spellcaster's millhorses, but in some instances, it can be found in the next page, or few pages after. Only Jushtin's card doesn't follow this convention, instead being placed in the same page as the wand. I believe that this—along with some other stuff—not only implies that Jushtin doesn't have a millhorse, but he might be the millhorse/charger(I'll explain in NSaP part 3).

3. It makes perfect sense now why Dir is dubbed "Dirhhennia the Heaped." One of the definitions of heaped is "to give(something, such as praise, blame, etc.)in large amounts." More than likely alluding to her supernatural charisma, and maybe also her depression-like affection.

Corroborated by Glossaryck as he called Dir "the heaped one" in Crescenta's chapter(I also believe that he is the one who gave Dir her title).

4. I feel like the meaning of "Uncalculated" in Jushtin's new title(the old one is Jushtin the Un-queen)is more important than to it just be alluding to the fact that he was not expected by his kingdom to be a boy, 'cause the titles, they either allude to a important trait, or something the spellcasters are known for. But then again, Star's title is "Star the Underestimated," even though no one called her that, except her once, I think. So maybe it is just alluding to his gender, but I like to think otherwise. His title sounds like it means a lot of things, complex, like Jushtin.

I like what a youtube commenter said regarding it:

"Uncalculated can be used to mean something hasn't been thought through, or the opposite of a calculated person meaning simple and genuine, but I like to think it means "unknown quantity" Jushtin's potential, his success, how his reign would have gone are things that can be calculated. Who he could have been is unknown."

5. It is never explained what the Butterflies besides the titles are supposed to be rating, and I can't find anything in the Magic Book of Spells that would imply even one possible answer. I personally believe that the Butterflies are rating the overall influence of the spellcasters on their kingdom during their respective reign, when they still have the wand and book. It makes the most sense to me, because Jushtin and Dirhhennia only have one butterflies, they never got to rule mewni, so they only have one.

The first three are from early april, the last one is from mid november, I never got around to posting them.

First two drawings are from my Meteora AU when she was never replaced. She marries the piefolk Festivia (may change her color palette a bit) and they have their heir Pandora (designed by @lunista-lou ) and some time later have their other two daughter Dirhhennia and Crescenta thanks to their old friend (or maybe I’ll make them a polycule insead) Musty Mountains, with Crescenta becoming his heir (Dirhhennia never wanted to be in power and left).

Second is three generations of queens, not sure in wich AU put them yet but still. Meila (blonde grandma) was designed by my friend Bunny (njkhrte and other related accounts on deviantart), Sol (middle one) was designed by @sailormedia and Satellite (flowers on hair) was designed by me.

Mended has been posted (also available on FFnet).

Summary: Crescenta's planned visit to a place dear to her is interrupted when an unwanted guest shows up unannounced. However, such an event soon brings out grief that she thought to have left behind, and she reaches the conclusion that facing her past might be the only way to come to terms with it.

Note: The link says Chapter 1, but in fact this is a story that was written as a one-shot that I split in two. Chapter 2 is also available at the link, and the story is complete.

Well, it’s been a while since the last entry in what was supposed to be a series of one-shots, eh? Oh well, never said I’d be fast about it :D

Mended continues on with my quest to explore Crescenta’s character, but this time I focus on the relationship with her sister Dirhhennia, who takes a prominent role in this story as well. It made for a story a bit more complex and longer than expected, but I kind of like the final result even if I had some difficulty handling certain parts of it.

I am not quite finished with Crescenta, though. The next one-shot is also going to focus on her and it will be the last one to do so. It will also be wildly different from any of the other stories in the Tales, or even the rest of my fanfiction output. Hopefully that comes a bit earlier compared to this one!
