For anyone wondering about the next update, I'll give a bit of a personal answer so bear with me.

The reality is that I have been emotionally exhausted for quite a while (some years at least), and despite my overwhelming love for the game and its community, writing takes a lot of energy, which I often lack. I cannot even give you an estimate, because as you might know I tend to binge write all content and then have months of absolutely nothing. The last update, for example, took me less than a month where I was completely consumed only by that, and while it's exhilarating it is also exhausting.

So, I don't know when the next update is coming, and unfortunately I cannot give you an estimate either. I can only say that I am thinking about the game and you will definitely know when I will be having the next burst of productive writing.

What led Squall to try and revolt? Was it a decision by himself, with others, or was there a third party involved? What is true and what isn’t?

What is the fallout and aftermath of Mog’s actions at Courage Square, and what might her future as a budding Wundersmith in Nevermoor look like?

Christmas Eve: is it a Distraction, is there a Ghostly Hour involved, is it related to the Massacre, and how could it relate to modern Nevermoorian religion and Squall’s exile and Eventide activities?

Maud: does she have a knack or some sort of power, how and when does she use it, what is her dynamic with Squall based on, and why is he so scared of her?

Miscellaneous Silverborn Masterpost additions, on a rolling basis as I (or anyone else!) thinks of things.

Well I hate to say it but I am actually watching Skibidi Toilet.

For something which started out as a 5 second SFM job for children, it's kind of genuinely impressive?

Like an arc develops and they become increasingly technically impressive, and there's a definitely sense about 40 "episodes" in that some of it is just action filler with none of the characteristic back and forth twists of the earlier episodes, because its absurdly popular, and potentially also to fill time while working on big setpiece episodes.

It also gets decreasingly reliant on the dumb meme song, about 30 episodes in they start getting uploaded as real videos instead of shorts, and I'm genuinely impressed by the commitment to using HL2 sound effects and assets as the basis of everything, like all the audio is unique but distinctly "from HL2". I think thats cool. Just when I was thinking "Huh, there hasn't been much distorted scat in recent episodes", they used Triage at Dawn for a key scene. That's real music, real half life music with emotional weight! For us olds!

But also impressive is how the comments sections are entirely like, literal 9 year olds repeating the same few community memes/inane observations/spouting "lore" which like, fair enough they're literally children but its also WEIRD how popular this is with six year olds. Like I get why, it's got (literal) toilet humour and cool cartoon action battles. But THIS popular?

I'm just glad it's not as much utter trash as it seemed it would be from a distance, I guess?

Honestly? If you're not watching Skibidi Toilet you are setting yourself up to be especially out of touch with the people who will be teenagers in the 2020s. its like Five Nights at Freddies was for the Youth of the previous ten years.

Anyway thats all i have some more episodes to finish.

So I made Shaperaverse OCs! Their names (from left to right) are Big, Little and Middle, and I love them dearly. Their fic is rather elaborate and I don't want to post it until I've figured it out properly. However, the short backstory is:

They're some of Sarah's "mutants", who actually escaped the culling of the Posthuman War. Since then, they've slowly learned how to take care of themselves in this dangerous Metaverse, and built a little family of three. They all have different mental and physical capabilities, yet they make do.

Next year’s treasure: a fucking elevator

So, Arven carries a lot of supplies with him. He’s got a weird relationship with gender where he’s definitely a guy, but finds himself relating more to terms like Eldest Daughter Syndrome and Mom Friend. He doesn’t consider himself particularly gender nonconforming; at least, not on purpose. He just thinks the binary of gender roles is stupid and he wants to opt out.

Why is it a gendered trait that he raised himself, that he shows affection for his friends by making sure they’re well fed because his mom and dad were never around to cook for him? Why is it a gendered trait that behind the uncaring facade he puts up, he's actually quite anxious, especially after what happened to mabosstiff, and he likes to be prepared for any situation? Why is it a gendered trait that he doesn't expect anyone else to take care of him, doesn't want to be taken care of as much as he desperately craves it, and keeps all his baggage, emotional and physical, to himself?

Still, it’s heavy. It’s a lot  to carry around, especially up the stairs. So, Penny is exhausted. All the time, actually. Her therapist says it’s a trauma response, that all of her energy goes towards processing and healing from the bullying she endured, and she’s been nearly a shut-in for so long that her constitution is shit.

And then there's her transition-- objectively, coming out of her shell and coming out to her parents was a net positive. Back in the days when her denial was at its peak, she buzzed her hair short, trying to prove something to herself, to her bullies. Looking back, that haircut feels like an act of violence against herself, but now she is growing it out, and has to admit she feels cute more days than not.

Dysphoria still flares up from time to time, but Penny's got a cute backpack, a skirt and patterned leggings, a knack for wearing just enough eyeliner to make people question if she's wearing makeup or just has pretty eyes. Right now, her gender goals are Just Some Girl. And she's getting there. She doesn't need to be some exaggerated model of femininity, she's just another girl in the crowd, kinda cute but not in a way that stands out.

But now that her body is running on estrogen, now that she's no longer literally running from her problems, her muscle mass...well. It's seen better days. She'd like to maybe build up her stamina, but school makes it hard.

Especially those damned stairs. So, Nemona is disabled. The compression sleeve normally keeps it under control, but it's an aid, a tool, not a cure or a perfect fix. Her gross motor coordination with that arm isn't good enough for a lot of sports, she struggles to throw pokeballs, and it gets sweaty and gross sometimes, which is unpleasant.

The specifics of it are, basically, a somewhat benign growth on her blood vessels will swell up and press uncomfortably against the nerves if she's not careful. It's not hurting much for now, and she knows her limits, but she's sort of looking forward to the day she's old enough to get it surgically fixed. She's got to wait until her body is fully developed for that-- something about pediatric surgery being a risky endeavor-- and honestly, that's okay. Makes sense to her.

She knows her limits, knows what kinds of exercises she can do without exacerbating her bad arm, and she's got more hobbies than battling. She's got friends to hang out with, friends who understand, even. So most days, she's fine with being a little disabled. There are worse fates out there, and it's taught her how to get creative and work around limitations to find solutions.

But some days, she resents it. Because her arm is always throbbing with pain by the time she makes it up the academy stairs.

So, the new transfer student is something of a force of nature. Defeating titans, collecting gym badges, and sweeping through Star bases like it’s nothing. Everything has changed since their arrival, like a revolution in process, and by the look in their eyes, everything's going to keep changing, and for the better.

Those stairs never stood a chance.

i really do feel like the main reason q-taro didn’t go through with the escape ticket ending wasn’t because he didn’t have enough tokens as the rest of the cast assumes, but because he received the tokens from... gin.

it’s different with sara - it’s a fair clean-cut trade. he can barely face her while he goes through with it, but he manages to keep his resolve when it’s just her. but with gin? in return for tokens, all he asks is for you to spend time with him. to play with him, to speak with him, to build that bond with him. q-taro wouldn’t necessarily put his life on the line (it isn’t until after the final attraction when q-taro begins to reassess how he’s been acting), but he’s become fond of him at this point and is forcefully reminded that this is a kid he’d be leaving behind. abandoned - however brief q-taro meant it, under the impression he could still gather help - by someone he trusted most. q-taro already feels awful enough having left the orphanage, but at least they’re not in a situation as severe as this.
