The Who's Who of Hipipo
("Open Image In New Tab" highly recommended!)
one of my favourite scenes in "Osomatsu-san: The Hipipo Tribe and the Glistening Fruit" was the climactic chase featuring cameos from many reoccuring and one-off characters (some of whom also appeared in the film's opening) from all three seasons of the anime - some well-known among fans of the franchise, others not so much.
in an attempt to fill in those "not so much" gaps, I proudly present a project I've been looking forward to posting for three months: a visual guide to the name and origin of every character who cameos in the climax and/or opening. see the list in text form under the cut!

Is Nozomi actually dead? We'll never see her again?
Well, THE Nozomi Takahashi we saw in the movie is likely dead. But that doesn’t have to mean we’ll never see her again! Osomatsu-san has a very loose concept of canon and characters get sometimes reused for other “roles”, such as Jyushimatsu’s girlfriend from season 1 reappearing as the dolphin trainer in season 2 and the mean flower fairy from season 1 getting reworked into Dobusu in seasons 2 and 3.
If we keep getting new Osomatsu-san material in the future such as a season 4 and/or more movies (both things that seem pretty likely given how the franchise is still very popular and might have even been unofficially “confirmed”), she might very well make a future appearance, playing a different role!

Okay okay, so character idea I may end up putting in the "book" (it's not nearly long enough to be a book, but I don't have abother term), but someone else could steal. So the lore would be that some people have special powers called dobusu, or something else idk, represented by some sort of animal tattoo somewhere on their body, and all these powers would have themes. Like a transformation theme with a butterfly, or a vision theme with a squid, y'know, Epithet Erased or BNHA type stuff.
And than would come Lull, a mage with dream dobusu, represented by a moth. They would go by dream logic, and one of their main thing would be forth wall breaks. They'd often have visual gags involving fourth wall breaks, for example, they'd run away from the camera after doing something embarrassing, and some of it would even be involved with the plot, like the notorious "disappear while off screen" gag, that they play off in universe as just dream logic, or as soon as the music gave off a negative sting on an evil guy, they'd immediately give a dirty look and say "I don't know what, but something about you seems suspicious". Idk I just think they seem fun.
