Her next documentary will be principally filmed in the country whose population speaks more languages than any other country in the world, Papua New Guinea. Kate takes on the writing, directing, and editing. Her brother in law, Matthew Bagwell, is her cinematographer. Linguistics professor and fellow polyglot Thomas Dorset will provide assistance in research and procuring interpreters. And then there's Anthony Bridgerton, her sound engineer and pain in the ass, but in a way Kate kind of loves, and maybe can't live without?

Carols a socialite. Family’s old money from banking so she uses her time to party and travel and get paid to post on social media. Dating tommy who is the son of a congressman and also created his own app that blew up in the tech world so he’s making bank off of that

Chrissy is a model who got her big break because her mother has been head of housekeeping for the hargroves for years and she and billy grew up besties. And now she’s dating billys other best friend heather and also robin good for her

Scrapped idea: God, so many. Newt went through like a million revisions before I ended up with this story. I made him for an OC server I'm no longer in and his story was completely different. The cyberpunk thing was actually an AU that I decided to run with once I had to revamp him because I stopped talking to the people from that server. He was originally from a plain modern universe and wasn't nearly as heroic--his original story was that he saw a serial killer murder someone and was forced to stay quiet, eventually falling in love with her. Once I stopped writing with the other person's serial killer OC, the idea became Violetta, but Newt reacted much differently. (His personality honestly didn't change that much, but I had more freedom over the outcome of the story, so his actions could be more impactful.) Camille is actually my partner's character because they saw all my old vent art of him smoking pensively and wanted to comfort him, LOL. (That's also the reason I don't write Camille on here even though she's a major character in the story. She feels more like Rose's character than mine, even though we share custody over her.)

Newt wasn't originally a documentarian but that development did come while I was still writing with the other person's OC, and it always bothered me that she just got away with murder and Newt helped (even though she did stop murdering for him). It felt out of character, but I'm much happier with his story now. It feels much truer to what I want the character to be.

Something stuck in limbo: Androids in this universe. I pretty much only develop them when I think about my OC Ken, an android con artist, but he's like the protagonist of a completely different story from Newt set in the same universe.

(I do love Ken though. I'll definitely add him as a muse on here eventually.)

I do know that androids are a very new technology, mostly found in Japan. There's going to be a specific company that manufactured Ken (I love my corporations) and they'll probably be the antagonists of that story, since Ken is a rogue android going around conning humans out of their money.

An upcoming idea that still needs development: I've been thinking about a new character but I'm shy to talk about her because it's always the same shit with me 👉👈 All of my plots are about obsessive love and it's getting ridiculous, and I know it's getting ridiculous, but, like, as a personal web of OCs, it's fine. It's once I start explaining it on here that I'm embarrassed by how I sound.

I separate Newt plots by documentary in my head and the other two were like, "what if a powerful person got obsessed with you?" and this one is "what if someone with no power became so obsessed with you that they'd go to any lengths to have power over you?" I was thinking about how famous people have stalkers and I started wondering what would happen if someone thought the only way to get attention (not just from Newt, attention from anyone) was to make themselves the kind of person that people make documentaries about. So I've been thinking about this new villain, even if I end up keeping her story to myself. Her name is Marnie and she kidnaps Newt to kill people on camera, and forcibly make herself the subject of a documentary people will be talking about long after she's gone.

troy and abed 10 years in the fuuuture! they pay taxes now

Director and star of the unexpected runaway hit The Bla.ir Wit.ch Project, Heather Donahu.e rolls up the VMAs looking as stylish as ever.

When asked about the surprising mainstream success of the documentary, Donahu.e had this to say, “We just wanted to make something entertaining and maybe solve a mystery along the way. As you know, it started as an assignment for class and then turned into something more. I guess that goes to show you that doing your homework really does pay off.”

The minute she walked into the room, Anthony knew it. It wasn't just the way every single player's head turned towards the door, he could feel it. Prickling against his skin, the hair on the back of his neck standing up. Don't turn, don't fucking look at her you'll-

He couldn't help himself. Anthony turned slowly, his eyes searching, searching and- he let out a sad sigh. There she was. Kate , no no, Doctor Sharma, loitering a little awkwardly by the door, her eyes darting around. Her dress caught the light, drawing attention to herself, casting a glow around her, and Anthony's stomach lurched. Every day she was beautiful, her heels clacking along the polished concrete, her skirts tight, the only time he'd ever seen her out of them was on match days, when she showed up in her polo shirt, the buttons undone so that when she bent in front of him, her jeans tight on her legs, her hair tickling his nose, he could just see down the front, even as he forced himself to look away muttering She's a fucking doctor, this is her job don't be that guy. But tonight she looked nothing short of breathtaking. So much skin.

Kate turned to a woman who'd just appeared behind her, a smile on her face that made Anthony's chest feel awfully tight and- Was that Edwina...? Sharma. The documentarian, Edwina Sharma from BBC1 was her sister. Well. Of course.

"Kate!" Sophie called out to her, startling Anthony, making him spin towards her wildly as Kate made her way towards them, towards him.

"Soph! What the fuck?! Don't bring her over here!"

Benedict snickered, a slow smirk stretching across his face. "Why Anthony? Is there something wrong with the good doctor?"

Anthony felt his cheeks flush, his eyes flicking to Kate, still approaching, stopping to talk to a waiter. Anthony practically growled at one as they walked past, "Can I get another scotch please?" He turned towards his brother "No, of course not. I just wonder if we should monopolise her time."

"Strap your dick down, Anthony. She's here. Kate!" Sophie muttered, her name said in greeting.

"Hey Soph, Ben." Her smile slipped just a little as her eyes caught with his, swallowing just a little, drawing his attention to her neck, his chest tightening. "Anthony."

"Dr Sharma." Kate bristled just a little, her jaw tightening, her voice as well as she spoke, turning her head slightly towards her sister who was looking curiously around.

"Eddie this is Sophie, her boyfriend Ben, and his brother. Everyone this is my sister-"

"Edwina." Her name had left Anthony's lips before he could stop himself. As though he was desperate to know something about her, even a tiny fact like this.

He saw immediately that he'd made a mistake. Kate's entire body stiffened, her eyes like ice, her voice freezing him in place. "Yes. Edwina."

Edwina Sharma for her part was looking back at him in surprise, her eyebrows raised, even as she laughed, clearly sensing the tension around their tiny circle, "Ugh! That's me, most days I suppose."

But Anthony wasn't even looking at her, his eyes stuck on Kate as she shifted awkwardly, her eyes glued to his. But he couldn't hold her gaze for long, his eyes slipped down, over her dress tight against her body, her long legs practically sinful, and all he wanted was to touch her. To reach out and tug her against his chest, feel her skin against him, those long legs wrapped around his waist, that floral scent that clung to her overwhelming him. Everything in her burned to know what she tasted like, what it would be like to run his tongue along her collarbone, let it dip into the hollow of her throat, to kneel in front of her with her legs around his ears and worship her while her hands tugged him closer and his name dropped from her lips.

Benedict nudged him, snapping his attention away from his... daydream he supposed, everyone was looking at him, clearly expecting him to say something and because he was a fucking idiot apparent what came out was "We match!"

Kate's brow furrowed, brushing back on of the curls framing her face, "I'm sorry?"

Anthony cursed himself, gesturing to the deep purple velvet of his jacket, then to the much lighter fabric of her dress. "Purple. Purple."

Kate's eyebrows raised, as she took a shuddering breath, her lips ticking upwards in an ironic smirk, "Don't worry, Anthony, whichever girl here's unfortunate enough to find herself on a date with you tonight isn't going to think we planned it."

"I didn't mean-"

"It's fine!" she said quickly, turning towards the waiter who'd appeared with the drink she'd obviously ordered, offering Anthony's to him as well.

"No, I just meant that anyone would think we get along."

"Jesus fucking christ." He heard Sophie mutter into her own drink as Kate stared back at him, his heart pounding in his chest.

"So um, Edwina, you have a documentary coming out, about- um-" Anthony said quickly, searching for a topic as Edwina turned towards him, clearly a little surprised to be being addressed, "Child labor laws in developing nations?"

Edwina nodded, her eyes flicking between Kate, who he could feel glaring at him her eyes hot on the side of his face, and him. "That's right, I just finished filming last month so it's in post right now."

Anthony nodded awkwardly not, really sure where to go from here, "Well, I look forward to seeing you-it-on the screen."

Edwina Sharma looked a little bemused "O...kay?" She seemed to flounder in the silence for a moment before she turned to Kate and said, "I'm just going to-" She gestured towards the bathrooms "I'll be right back"

Sophie startled, "Let me join you, Ben why don't you go and get us some drinks at the bar."

Ben's brow furrowed, staring down at his half full glass, "But the waiter'll be back-"

"Ben." Sophie interrupted pointedly, her eyes wide.

And Anthony could have groaned, as Ben looked covertly between him and Kate before he cleared his throat, "Right, yeah, 'course babe."

And then he and Kate were alone, her eyes cold as she looked at him, her fingers drumming on her arm, her glass resting there, and god she was so beautiful, but he just couldn't-

"Kate you look really-"

"Anthony, stay the fuck away from my sister."

She said it so sharply, cutting off the last two words he hadn't known he was going to say until he'd started, her chin tilted towards him in defiance. He felt himself flinch backwards, his eyes widening.

"Kate I'm not-"

She sighed cutting him off again, "I get it, Anthony, she's young, and beautiful, and she's smart and no one loves her more than me and that's your thing, you flirt with women and slip into bed with them, and never see them again and that's totally fine. If women want you that's their business."

Fuck I want you to want me.

"But not my sister, okay? Just stay the fuck away from her." And then she was gone, her heels clipping across the marble floor away from him, before he could say the last two words. Beautiful Tonight.

What are your thoughts on Aang and Sokka's friendship in a modern AU?

katara and aang are best friends growing up, which makes sokka a convenient babysitter for the two of them during times when no adult supervision is available. gyatso will drop aang off at katara’s house a lot of the time and it falls to sokka to make sure that they don’t use the stove or make a bunch of prank phone calls. as with all only children who hang out at the home of a friend with an older sibling, aang is intrigued by sokka in the way a nature documentarian is intrigued by a sighting of a rare animal. he likes to tag along behind sokka and ask him a lot of questions about his life as a capital-T Teenager. sometimes his curiosity becomes a little annoying, but sokka almost always answers him patiently and gives aang the attention he’s asking for.

aang’s interest in sokka as a cool older friend sometimes infuriates katara when she wants aang’s attention all for herself, so the first few times he visits, she has a habit of periodically grabbing aang’s arm while he’s talking to sokka and dragging him away. later on, she devises a better idea: she can collude with aang to prank sokka, thus allowing aang’s pro-sokka attitude to work on her terms. they watch a youtube video on how to do the old bucket-of-water-above-the-door trick and set up their own version of it. as katara gets in position to watch the bucket fall, aang’s job is to lure sokka to walk through the door, but when he reaches sokka, he just can’t do it--instead, he gives a full confession and walks through the door himself, protecting sokka from the misfortune they’d engineered for him. this is the first time when sokka really realizes that aang is actually a very kind person who is worthy of his admiration, and it sparks a genuine friendship.

weirdly, aang is the first person who tips sokka off to the revelation that he might be bi. when sokka turns thirteen, nine-year-old aang is aware that this is an age when people start to enter into relationships, and he asks if sokka has a girlfriend or a boyfriend or another gender of significant-other-friend. the lack of judgment conveyed in the question is so matter-of-fact that sokka actually takes it seriously, and the conversation comes back to him later when he really begins to think about his sexuality.

when sokka starts dating yue, he denies being in a relationship so katara won’t tease him at home, but aang intuits that there’s a more mature dynamic between sokka and yue than he or katara can really understand yet. he makes it a point to get to know yue, since she’s so important to his adopted big brother, and of course he quickly grows to adore her. it’s mutual, and yue will sometimes suggest to sokka that instead of going on a typical date, they should just take aang to the aquarium or a theme park for a “babysitting date” because they so enjoy his company. katara is only occasionally invited to tag along.

aang also teaches sokka how to make all kinds of vegetarian food for yue (who eats fish but no other meat). sokka is a reluctant convert and eventually comes to accept that even some of his favorite meat-based dishes struggle to hold their own against some of aang’s tofu creations.

there is a summer when katara goes to hockey camp and aang and sokka are left at home. they decide to spend their summer working on a project together: painting a huge mural on the back wall of aang’s house. gyatso gives his full support. all through june, they sketch and plan. in july, they hold lemonade stands and garage sales as fundraisers to raise the money to buy paint and supplies (sokka maintains a meticulous budget). in august, they spend almost every single day painting the thing. some days, yue comes by and sprawls on a lawn chair in the yard, watching the boys work. at the end of the summer, the mural is done and they bring katara over to show her. she likes it fine, but cannot understand for the life of her why they look like they’re about to cry tears of joy as they behold their masterpiece

they’re big on doing crafts together or gifting crafts to each other. for aang’s thirteenth birthday, sokka gives him a pair of flip-flops he made himself out of cork and recycled plastic. for hanukkah that same year, aang gifts sokka a baseball cap he modified by sewing a hidden pocket in the brim. inside the pocket? a miniature calculator and a portable phone charger. sokka’s breath catches at the thoughtfulness.

there comes a point in ninth grade when aang becomes aware that two of his classmates have crushes on him--a boy and a girl. he trusts sokka’s judgment completely when it comes to dating matters (and he has seen enough to ensure that he will NEVER trust katara in the same arena), so he describes both suitors to sokka. from aang’s descriptions, sokka concludes that aang really doesn’t seem to like either of them all that much, and he helps aang figure out what to say to protect both friendships. aang always struggles with delivering bad news, and he’s incredibly grateful to sokka for the help.

when sokka leaves for college, he doesn’t really expect to hear from aang all that much--they were good friends, but he expects that there will be a whole out-of-sight, out-of-mind thing on aang’s side. katara is aang’s real best friend, and sokka was just a casual friend who was there when katara wasn’t around (or so sokka assumes). so he’s surprised when aang calls him on his second night away from home, and they talk for half an hour, aang asking thoughtful questions about what the dorms are like and how orientation is going and how sokka is settling in. they don’t always have time to talk on the phone, since sokka quickly immerses himself in schoolwork and way too many student organizations, but they exchange emails at least once a week. every time sokka visits home, he makes a point to grab tea with aang and catch up on everything that didn’t make it into their emails.

aang has a habit of occasionally sending sokka his math homework to look over, and sokka dutifully corrects any glaring issues. but the trig teacher is one shrewd lady, and after a few weeks of suspiciously meticulous homework in a row, she sends aang home with a problem set on which the following is written in red ink: “sokka--how’s college? are they not challenging you enough at princeton? if you still need extra work, consider a tutoring job, or a girlfriend. all my best, yugoda.” aang texts sokka a picture of this note and sokka cracks up laughing. he did love yugoda’s class. but the jig is up, and aang’s trig grade does take a hit as a result of this decisive end to their homework-help scheme.

i saw a post about this a while ago but i had no clue what demisexuality was back then. now having recently replayed the first couple books in the series, and being spurred to do some research because a character in another game identified himself as such (cove from our life. i refuse to stop talking about that game), i can't unsee the parallels between those two characters! and with the way rory talks about their "perfectionist" view of love, falling for the heart and having to be close to that person before they can begin to feel that way, and how particular they are about how their relationship with MC develops... it seems kinda canon ngl

andy kang and tom sato (ilitw / ilb) are in love with each other but don't know it

this might be a residual from teenage me constantly shipping two guys together who showed any ounce of affection for each other ajkflyldh but again, having replayed recently, their scenes together are just so...??? and andy's scene outside the house party where he's wishing he could share his joy and confidence with tom?? and the unerring support and protectiveness they have for each other throughout everything they've dealt with, redfield or otherwise?? i just feel like andy's gonna wake up one day and be like, oh. it's him. it's always been him.

black!edward mortemer (ds) is afro-caribbean

i'll never get over how pb uses the same backstory for every version of a custom LI even when it doesn't make historical/contextual sense for all of them. i know there was a noteworthy black population in england at the time of the story, and many of them were free and chose to work as sailors. but there was an even more significant black population in the caribbean as a consequence of the slave trade, and i can't help thinking what a missed opportunity it was to bring that glaring aspect of the time period up, especially with a black MC. i'm just tired of everyone being european by default when they so easily could have had individualized backgrounds.

benji (qb) was never the bad guy

yo hear me out, what he actually did was gross and disgusting and he definitely is a bad guy, so this is more of an AU idea than a headcanon. when book 1 ended, there was an amazing reddit post about how much better queen b would've been if it had any actual critique of the classism that's so rampant in the school, and how one of the popular students should have been the person harassing MC to show the darker side of all that privilege, instead of it being the one poor student everyone hates. i think i commented about how pb had an interesting take on that with nathan and the fratority in the junior. in that thread, i found out i wasn't the only person who thought benji might join the squad and help overthrow belvoire's whole system when we first met him, seeing as he and MC were in the exact same position as outsiders at that point. that post was pretty eye-opening, so i like to imagine a different version of book 1 in which benji isn't thrown under the bus and typecast as a creeper nerd, and one of the frat guys in the top 10 fills that corrupt role instead. (not carter though. never carter)

Andiversary Week Day 5: AUs & Crossovers

Pokémon AU where the GHC+ are Pokémon trainers who travel the world together.

Andi wants to be a Pokémon artist. When she’s not sculpting or painting she can usually be found making flower crowns for herself and her Squirtle.

Buffy is determined to win a Pokémon League and become a Pokémon Master. When she grows up she wants to be a gym leader with her Charmander (who may be a Charizard by that point).

Cyrus wants to be a Pokémon breeder. Or Pokémon scientist. Or a Pokémon documentarian. Whatever he does, if Bulbasaur and his friends are by his side he’ll be happy.

Jonah isn’t sure yet what he wants to do when he grows up and he knows there’s nothing wrong with that! For now he’s focusing on training with his Pikachu and enjoying being young.
