“We should get up.”
“Do you want to get up?” was the sleepy reply.
Obi-Wan shifted, rolling a shoulder to prevent the incoming crick. He rubbed his nose over Cody’s neck. “I’d rather you drool some more on my arm.”
Cody stilled in a way that spelled trouble in Obi-Wan’s immediate future. Cody’s head turned as far as it would go in their position, visible eye squinting. “Excuse me?”
Obi-Wan hid his smile in Cody’s shoulder, trying to innocently blink up at him and failing miserably.
He laughed through the pins and needles in his arm when Cody sat up, through Cody putting his entire battle-hardened weight on him, through the raspberries blown into his neck.

domestic wartime codywan
what it says on the tin. gen, pre-relationship. less pining and more biding their time. feat. cody’s food thief tendencies and obi-wan failing to act like he’s not whipped. ~600w.
---
Cody looks up from his datapad when Obi-Wan pushes through the tent’s entrance shoulder first, caf burning his palm in one hand and two tidy little boxes cradled against his chest. He blinks and then he smiles, tiny and surprised and distracted, before looking back at his work. His shell rests on its rack in a corner of the tent they share, his corner of the room on the edge of messy, as always. The blankets on the cot are more or less folded, his boots like on its side tucked under it, and the datapads strewn over the holotable that presides over the small tent are mostly his. He’s too good at his job to allow himself his mess, Obi-Wan’s commander, but Obi-Wan isn’t strong enough not to read a bit too much in the little mess he allows himself. He’s not a fan of tripping over the ammo crate Cody likes to lug around on his way to the fresher every single morning but—well. Obi-Wan has been sharing rooms with other people for all his life: Cody isn’t the worst roommate he’s ever had.
Obi-Wan leaves the food on the table. Cody drops his ‘pad and reaches for the boxes, his curiosity a sudden, tangible thing. He’s still smiling, the gesture tiny and tucked away against one of the corners of his mouth, and Obi-Wan has to force himself to look away: he can remember perfectly well the first few months of the war, and Cody’s distant politeness, and the flat look in his eyes.
“What’s this?” Cody asks. He’s opened both boxes, and now he’s poking and what’s inside with his chopsticks, familiar and comfortable. He fishes a slice of carrot from one of them—from Obi-Wan’s—and places it in his mouth. Obi-Wan snorts, and tugs his food from Cody’s grasp before it ends up Cody’s instead.
“That’s mine,” he tells him, a bit too pointedly. Cody raises his eyebrows in mock contriteness and says nothing. He turns back to the other box. “That’s yours. You liked the seafood thing from the other day, right? That one is similar.”
“Where did you get it?” Cody asks. He sprained an ankle the day before, and he’s been told to keep weight off it: he keeps forgetting to do so, now that it’s mostly healed, and now he makes a face, half-way to clearing the table. Obi-Wan rolls his eyes and takes the datapads off his hands.
“There are a few carts outside, in the market,” Obi-Wan replies. He dumps the ‘pads on Cody’s cot and turns back to the table. “And I’m really kriffing tired of GAR rations.”
Cody snorts. His smile grows wider, younger, almost bashful. He glances at Obi-Wan from the corner of his eyes, eyes thoughtful, and then he starts eating without waiting for Obi-Wan, and Obi-Wan knows it won’t be enough for him, that he’ll end up hungry, but that’s alright: Obi-Wan bought too much for himself.
Obi-Wan knows he has a soft spot for his commander. It caught him by surprise, though he thinks it shouldn’t have: Cody’s smarter than him, brave and complicated, and he’s also a very bad idea, if not the worst Obi-Wan has ever had. Obi-Wan lets him have half his meal but doesn’t let him have his caf—boundaries are important and all that stuff. Afterwards, Cody sits there looking full and smug and happy for the first time in a while: under the table, his bare foot knocks against Obi-Wan’s boot once, twice, a third time, and then stays.

wip wednesday
uwu wip wednesday because I liked these few paragraphs and how comfy they felt 🥺
The first hint he gets that something is different is a twinge in the Force, urging him to sit up and pay attention. Ben rouses slowly, blinking his eyes open into the dark. The Force laps against him, insistent and insisting. Cody’s arm slung over his waist is warm and comforting. The soft sound of his rumbling snore is the only thing Ben can hear, the rest of the house silent and nothing outside to draw his attention. He reaches out with the Force, but there is only the deep, enduring ache that he is used to; though it’s undercut by a humming expectation. He sits up, and Cody stirs beside him, hand brushing over Ben’s side before he quiets, likely expecting that he simply needs to use the fresher. When Ben doesn’t move, he makes a soft noise, voice lilting in a wordless question. “I’m fine,” Ben promises him lowly, still searching. Something itches at him, demanding action. “How do you feel about a late night walk, my dear?”

hi, do you happen to have any fic recs? :)
Hello!! Of course I have fic recs!!! Now, I must say I haven't read in two or three months due to depression and brainfog so none of these fics are recent but they are highly recommended by me!!
First off, we have non explicit fics!
The General by @snowywinterevenings
Very cute canonverse fluffy fic in which Cody adopts a tooka. There are cuddles.

Canonverse late night of flimsiwork. So soul wrenchingly tender. They had their first kiss(es). Stoked my overwhelming love for codywan by showing just how well these two can be done.
cherished in sunlight by @inkformyblood
This fic made me smile so much. It's perfect. Just perfect. Another first kiss fic, this time after the war. Soft, hopeful beginnings.
Another Happy Landing by @lttrsfrmlnrrgby
Goddddd this fic!!!! Order 66 happens, codywan lose one another (neither of which is shown in the fic), but this is their reunion!!! Obsessed with Lttrs' take on this.

Rex Raises Luke AU Part 4
So, as I’m sure some of you have noticed at this point… the “scene #” has nothing to do with the chronological time. It’s just the order of how I wrote things out 😂
So yeah, there are a good number of scenes!!
Also, I wanna add some more context when I post these lol…
So for this one, Rex and Cody reunite after a bloody fight with imperials on a snow covered planet. Rex is still get a handle of being a parent.
Later, Rex “sics” Cody on Obi-Wan and of course, years pass of Codywan falling in love again and having a sickening sweet domestic life…
Luke is probably around 8 to 10 years old in the second scene. He hasn’t met Obi-Wan yet, but he will…
Previous - Next
Scene #4
“Cody,” Rex wheezed. He slapped a hand on his brother’s shoulder and clenched his fingers around the pauldron, before dragging the man up to his feet.
“Rex,” his vod’s voice broke, “I’m so sorry.”
“Nothing to be sorry for, ner ori’vod.” Rex crumbled and stepped forward, wrapping his arms around the bloody gray armor and burying his face into his brother’s neck. Armor pinched at his cheek, but he didn’t care as he lifted a hand to clench into his brother’s finely cut, regulation curls.
Another choke left his brother’s throat, but then his head shifted and his chin pushed over Rex’s temple. Arms wrapped around him and squeezed him tight, a hand cupping the back of his neck and another wrapping fingers around edge of his cuirass. The cold dipped away as his brother turned into the wind, blocking the onslaught of bitter ice that cut through his body
Tears soaked his eyes as warmth flooded him, filling from his feet to his fingers, and Rex refused to let go of the one brother he had mourned the most.
“Su cuygar,” Rex gasped, his lips pulling into a smile.
A laugh jolted from his brother, ruffling them both. “Elek, I’m alive and you are too… you’re alive.”
“I am.” Rex leaned back and caught the tears on his vod’s face, knowing that his face reflected the same.
“What happened? Where did you go?” Cody looked down at him, hands moving to grip his shoulders.
“Well,” Rex began but a piercing cry ripped through the air.
He whipped his head around and caught onto the sight of his ship, the ramp down and the gathering snow. Another cry pierced his ears, desperate and louder, the exact opposite of happy.
“Rex?” Cody asked.
He looked back at his brother, sighing and smiling. “I have someone that I want you to meet.”
Scene #5
“Ba’vodu!” Luke slammed into the orange-armored man, staggering them toward the edge of the ramp.
The man let out a grunt, enough to bring an amused smile to Rex’s face as he watched the two, and then sighed as he looked down.
“You’re getting too big for this,” Cody said as he rested a hand over the boy’s hair. “Su cuy’gar, Lu’ika.”
“Su cuy’gar!” The boy smiled. “I missed you.”
The man chuckled and ruffled the boy’s hair, smirking down at him before looking back to the ship. “I’ve got presents for you, care to step inside before you see them?”
“Yes!” Luke slipped away from his uncle and waved him inside, his chatter and gestures filling the air. “I rearranged my room, I have to show it to you!”
Over the years, the inside of Rex’s ship had changed away from the sterile military-class design. Lights had been replaced to create golden glows over the painted walls, detailed in designs of creatures and stories. A few places had children’s handprints pressed into the edges, steadily growing bigger and taller. Further down the corridors, two storage rooms had been stripped clean and refitted with bunks, creating bedrooms next to each other. Each was decked out in their own fashion, one with crisp sheets and military plans laid across desks, and the other with toys scattered and an endless supply of blankets.
While Luke couldn’t move the bunk in his messy room, he did spend hours every few months rearranging the desks and platforms, the chests and buckets, to fit whatever scenarios were running through his head. It scratched noises into the air and softs sounds of music, but Rex didn’t mind, not when his son would fly into his arms moments later and ask him to see the changes made.
As the ramp of the ship closed, Luke pulled Cody to sit on the singular L-shape couch. The boy squeezed himself between his father and uncle, before pulling himself up to lean against the raised center table. A smile gleamed across his face as his head swiveled between the two of them, before his whole body turned and his eyes set back onto his uncle’s form.
“What did you bring me?” Luke asked, eyes wide.
“Udesii,” Rex said and reached out, patting his son’s back.
But his son didn’t seem to notice as he leaned closer to his uncle.
“Listen to your buir, ad’ika.” Cody smiled, but his hand was already reaching into the satchel at his side. “Have you been listening to him?”
“Yes!” Luke replied. “I’ve been good, I promise!”
Cody glanced across his nephew’s head, an eyebrow raising as he smirked and leaned against the center table. Rex met his brother’s eyes and smiled, giving him a small nod in return as he rested in his hand on Luke’s back.
“Alright then,” Cody said as he turned back to Luke, “Here you go.”
He pulled out two items from his satchel and set them on the table. Both of them were small, wrapped in cloth, and had scribbled aurebesh across them. One was disc-shaped, as if hiding a puck underneath its wrappings. The other was larger and took up a wide portion of the table, but the shape of the item inside was hidden by the obvious box that held it.
Luke leaned over the table, reading out the words on the smaller gift, “From Master Kenobi?”
“That’s right,” Cody said.
“My father’s master?” Luke asked and sat taller in his seat, his hands reaching toward the present. “That Kenobi? Obi-Wan Kenobi?”
“Elek,” Cody replied, “I’ve been spending some time with him, he wanted you to have this.”
The wrapping cloth fell away as Luke pulled out the true gift. The puck was completely black with a few protruding buttons along the side and a sheet of silver metal across the top; a hand-held holoprojector with only a few features. When Luke pressed a button, a list of items jumped into projection: meditations, lightsabers, the Force, shielding, form I, form II, form III and so on.
“He wants you to learn about the Jedi,” Cody explained as Luke stared.
“Really?” The boy asked and pulled his gaze away from the projection.
Cody nodded and a light grew in his eyes. “Only if you want to, but this is the knowledge he is offering you.”
“Wizard,” Luke exclaimed and then turned to Rex, a plea crawling onto his face, “Can we add this to our training?”
It didn’t take much to break down Rex’s will, not when it came to the way his son smiled and his eyes lit up. Every ounce of happiness and excitement reflected in his smile and the rising of his shoulders, the way that he clutched the holoprojector closer to his chest. Already, it was a treasured item that his son would protect.
“Yeah,” Rex sighed, “We’ll figure it out.”
“Yes! Thank you, buir!” Luke cheered and then looked back down at the holoprojector, fingers scrolling through the various items listed.
“Hey, don’t forget the other present.” Rex nudged his son and then nodded to the table.
“Oh, yeah!” Luke turned back, setting the holoprojector aside and then reached for the larger present.
Once the cloth fell away, his son ripped into the box and pulled out what was hidden inside. The item sparked Rex’s heart and his eyes widened as his son held onto it.
The cuirass set, missing pauldrons but still carrying the chest and torso piece, had been reworked. It was smaller than the regular clone set and inside flickered with silver, a secondary metal lining. The white surface was wiped clean, reflective and shiny.
“Ba’vodu!” Luke gasped as he held the cuirass up. “My own…?”
Rex gaped over at his brother, at the satisfied smirk across Cody’s face.
“That’s right, ad’ika,” Cody said, “Reworked it myself, it should fit you for the next few years.”
“I’m going to paint it orange.” Luke’s words cut straight through Rex’s chest.
“Ha!” Cody smirked, eyes alight as he looked over at Rex.
Then Luke added, “And blue!”
“Oh,” both Cody and Rex sighed.

Fic Stats Meme
Rules: Give us the links to your fics with the most hits, second most kudos, third most comments, fourth most bookmarks, fifth most words, and your fic with the least amount of words.
Both @elwenyere and @goddammitjim had open tags and this sounded fun! Let's see what the stats say:
Most hits
Slow Waters - Star Wars, 37k, Codywan, 7123 hits
The events of seven days in the mid-autumn of 2025, between the arrival of the Fett brothers -- the three-man Ranger team nicknamed "The Clones" by the general public -- to the Tokyo Shatterdome, and the last mission made against the Kaiju invasion.
Second most kudos
Inexpressibly to Untangle - Star Wars, 6k, Codywan, 533 kudos
"He’d always wondered why they’d called it that, when they can see real stars all the time, and the rearrangement of blood pressure just greys out his vision. It’s nothing like crisp white sparks of light on a vast black field, or a little speck of red on a purple sunset, or three yellow suns burning in tandem on the horizon." A post-Order 66 canon AU in which Obi-Wan and Cody crash-land on Endor.
Third most comments
Portrait of Monsieur X - Captive Prince, 37k, Damen/Laurent, 47 comment threads
"Without moving, Laurent spoke. “I wonder how long it takes for a portrait to become something different than its subject,” he said quietly. Damen wondered if this was a question he was truly meant to answer." It's the 1890s and Damen is hired to paint Laurent's portrait. A fic with guilt, ruin, and love.
Fourth most bookmarks
Wolfssegen - Star Wars, 7k, Codywan, 42 bookmarks
"Three years ago, just after Cody took on the old house on the outskirts of a small town, there had been a full moon, and Cody had woken the next morning to find the mangled remains of an iron wolf trap strewn across his back steps. The next full moon, he'd dragged a chair outside and waited up all night, and watched the patient glow of Obi-Wan's eyes from just beyond the tree-line." A vaguely historical, vaguely German story about wolves and magic.
Fifth most words
What Year Was Our House Built? - Star Wars, Codywan, 23,713 words
Cody and Obi-Wan live a peaceful, domestic life in a beautiful house, but all is not what it seems. When they start to have dreams of a different world, and objects start to appear in their home, and something in the basement just doesn't feel right-- that's when someone has to ask: What Year Was Our House Built?
Least words (not counting artworks)
Corn? - Venom (Marvel), Chickens, 354 words
A brief glimpse into the navigations of chickens Sonny and Cher in Eddie and Venom's life.
Tags: Open for anyone who sees this!! what a fun little glimpse into what I usually try not to look at. Numbers are not usually very large but I'm so proud of everything on this list. Yes, even the chicken one.

so about that TOTALLY PLANNED ot4 ending for tiny prophet luke... >_> (WHY NOT, ADI. WHY NOT.) ok i don't have any questions really i just want more about this verse, it feels like a hug after a long tiring day.
LMFAO that is NOT planned you hellion (<><><>) I am actually extremely fond of No Choir's dynamic being owenberu and codywan, the two couples joined in domestic unithood and never the twain shall meet. I think that there is not NEARLY enough demonstrations of mixed families where NOT all the people involved in raising the kid are screwing each other, weirdly! There was a time in our history where it was expected that your entire extended family would all be involved in living life and sharing the burdens of adulthood, and along the way somewhere we have lost that idea in favor of the nuclear family. I intend to let these four adults be family without it having to be about sex. In this essay I will--
okay okay anyway. No Choir is my love, my light, and I will one day return to the next installment, which is from Owen's POV as he tries to build an extension onto his homestead while his entire family has a meltdown around him and Beru mostly shrugs sheepishly about it, having kind of caused half of it by accident. <3 ONE DAY
