crazy how the badlands have been an active group for two years, since 2020. theyre the only faction left from the manburg era, and theyve never once kicked out or added a new member. tell me theyre not the tightest group on the server.

#I’m not angry I just like.. #augh #idk #it was a post of a person saying that the dsmp would change a lot if it wasn’t inspired by Hamilton and the op responded that early dsmp #would but later dsmp wouldn’t #but like… most of late dsmp is a consequence OF early dsmp!!! #like god I can’t get into it but like.. #so much of the dsmp is literally BUILT upon the joke of ‘haha were like Hamilton’ #all of L’Manburg and the consequences of that nation? it’s all Hamilton #and when you realize that L’Manburg is Hamilton you realize that a lot of shit can’t happen / happen the same way because of it #like even the eggpire would be different! #cause early on bad wanted to use the egg as a tool for the badlands #and the badlands could not exist WITHOUT manburg #manburg can’t exist without L’Manburg ofc and thay couldn’t exist without the Hamilton #like! even if it seems to not be connected it is #and it’s not to say that like factions wouldn’t be made and the egg is an idea that ONLY can exist like that #but that the ways things happen such as groups being made or the egg being founded would be very different #like if the dsmp was inspired by hadestown (what the original asked user as an example) it WOULD be so different #even in character creation #you have a huge inspiration of Greek mythology #gods such as XD would have a bigger play #the way people act and speak and the decisions they make would be different #there likely would not be any early war #and if there was it would not be nation vs nation #like.. so much would change #which I think is cool btw and that’s why I mad I can’t find the psot #cause I wanted to repsond #domino effect n shit #it’s cool to me :)

There’s this idea going around that the hole story of the dream Smp was the fever dream of a random gas station and I love it but I was thinking what if it was a wizard of oz situation where the characters are all people he knows 

 bbh could be a semi religious daycare worker that stops by every morning to buy muffins for his students breakfast and an egg sandwich from the next door Dunkin’ doughnuts or some other chain 

the gas station can be located in a in the middle of nowhere strip mall 

There’s a day care that is the badlands/eggpire

Las Nevada’s is a Mexican restaurant with a lot of arcade machines 

The syndicate are security or repair men 

The dream team are health inspectors or people from corporate that are in charge of the reviews and budget 

Kinoko kingdom is a book store that also sells foreign products like plants or Japanese KitKats or manga the types of people that buy from them are very pompous or just very eccentric amongst there frequent customers are very familiar names from tales like helga or sir billiam

i wish there were more fics that tackled the dsmp story on a much wider scale, from like the perspective of a full country with thousands of citizens rather than just a couple dozen... like i crave a novel about the socioeconomic consequences of schlatt’s rule is what im saying. i want to see citizens shouting at the gates of the white house demanding a solution to the food shortage. i want to hear about the badlands’ monopoly on the steel industry and how blacksmiths in manberg are struggling to keep adequate inventory as a result. i wanna meet families whose homes were destroyed on november 16th or january 6th or any of the other wars that have occurred. i wanna see pogtopia with dozens of refugees huddled inside, cramped and cold and hungry. i wanna hear about the woods outside manberg and how schlatt’s guards and hunters are patrolling it constantly, searching for whatever game they can find and preventing average citizens from hunting their own food. i want to see quackity promising solutions at a public rally and having to flee the stage when the audience starts rioting in protest. i want to see newspapers and political cartoons and graffiti and drinking songs and people!! i want to see people!!!!
