Recruiting characters because they're hot/have good stats/are your blorbo? Nah, that's for amateurs. The only real way to recruit students to join your house is carefully select characters that fill strategic political roles in the opposing houses so that when you depose of their leaders in the second half of the game you can set up a puppet governments susceptible to your interests.

I'll say it before and I'll say it again, people like Raxis, and the rest of the Edelstans ruined 3H for a lot of people. There's a reason why nobody looks back at the Fodlan universe fondly anymore, besides the fact that people are noticing the flaws more (which hey, no game is perfect). And considering how it's the most popular game in the FE series so far, yeah not a good look if there's a vocal bunch who'll go out of their way to sealion, harass, send borderline death threats, and spread disgusting rhetoric just cause someone doesn't like the female red emperor or sees her as the antagonist (which the devs see her as).

The fandom is just a cesspool of negativity because a certain group of people see anything negative about their fav as a personal attack. But they'll insist it's a both-sides problem to avoid taking responsibility.

Fucking hell I miss being able to just shitpost without edelgard discourse popping up every 5 seconds, or being told youre sexist for not liking a female character (???)
