It was far too cold to be out, already the tips of his fingers were turning blue and had that faint zapping feeling of nerves that were falling asleep. In his hand, he had two cups of scorching hot coffee, but even that was doing very little to keep the oppressive cold at bay. He turned down another alley, toward the back corner of a set of buildings that could provide some shelter from the cold. Since he worked at the university’s counseling center, he knew first hand that a lot of people who fell on hard times gathered in that alleyway. It was secluded, cut off from most of the bad elements, and there was an off chance that the restaurant nearby would provide them with food at the end of the day.

Regardless of the benefits of that particular patch of the land, it was still cold. Brutally so. No one deserved to be out on a night like this one, and Minsu was determined to make sure Kota wasn’t. He had been worried about the other man since the first snow had started falling that morning, and that worry only increased as the blankets of white continued to fall.

“Kota?” he called out softly, eyes adjusting – finally – to the dimness so he could see. “Oh! Hey!” Spotting him, Minus picked up the pace and jogged over, holding out one of the coffees. “I bought you some coffee, and uh…” The inside of his lip was bitten between his teeth, worry that his offer might not be accepted very present on his face. “Listen, my apartment is close, and it’s already cold – and only getting colder. Come sleep on my couch? I’m worried about you out here, and…the company would be nice.”
