Man I feel like a lot of leftist activists would do a lot better to just use common fucking language to talk about things rather than dense academic shit that's only understandable to people with PhDs and people who spend 95% of their waking life on Leftist Twitter lmao
Like, you're talking with other academics? Great, use academic language. You're a social media account trying to interact with the general public? Don't say "decarcerate", say "find alternatives to imprisonment". Don't say "collective liberation", say "freedom for all". By GOD don't say "bodymind autonomy", say "the ability to have control over our own minds and bodies".
Yes it takes a little more effort to explain shit in common language but I promise you people will stop looking at you like you have two heads and dismissing everything you say as Woke Bullshit if you like, actually get on their level, goddamn it. Not everyone has the privilege to have a graduate-school level understanding of this type of language or spend so much time reading leftist theory that they can perfectly understand this stuff.

Tails and Nine can tecnobbable to their heart's content since they know each of the proper terminologies and understand the formulas that Mangey is starting to learn as well, on paper at least.
Sails doesn't bother.
He knows the practical side of tech and doesn't feel the need to write three books calculating the energy output and friction caused by a gear complex, or the bearing capacity of its hinges, he just makes it and if it holds up then that is that. He's also an absolute headache to get through and understand the slang he uses for everything.

For those not in the know, Argentine president Javier Milei's Omnibus Law (a nightmare bill with articles that would expand the president's powers and privatise state properties, among other things) was turned down yesterday.
It had been approved in general on Friday, and they were voting for the particular articles in this session, but apparently some congresspeople who had promised a yes were voting no (my guess is the soft opposition [radicals] wanted more money?). La Libertad Avanza (Milei's party) called for a break to evaluate the situation, and when they came back said that either they passed it or the bill went back to commissions, seemingly under the impression that they'd keep the general saction.
BUT Article 155 of the rules of Congress, which clearly NONE of them read, states that if a partially sanctioned bill goes back to commissions it's like it never got voted. They have to start from zero after having already shown their cards just because they don't now how the laws work--the Minister of Interior had to have it explained to him on live television. This is a massive win because there's no memory of any government here having the first bill of their administration rejected. Right now Milei is in Israel, mass-liking tweets that say the congressmen in question are little whores and they should go to civil war for this.

you can’t see curses unless you have enough cursed energy to use cursed energy, and only then will you also see curses and also be able to kill curses with your cursed energy. so if you only have some cursed energy you need cursed energy glasses to see curses and you’ll also need a cursed tool to kill curses. oh, you can also see curses if you have absolutely no cursed energy, but if you have absolutely no cursed energy you still need a cursed tool to kill curses because you can only kill curses with cursed energy—
I HATE THIS SO MUCH, SAY CURSE ONE MORE TIME 🔫

So uh the manga I Think I Turned my Childhood Friend into a Girl is pretty good. Cute. Wholesome. I'm sure the dorks on Reddit kicking up a storm about it totally know what they're talking about and can take into account the distinction between the terminology used by the US and Japanese LGBT communities and the differences that creates for localization. I'm sure they aren't just going with a strict words-as-literal translation and falling into the exact same pitfalls they're accusing the official translators of doing, with the additional layer of transphobic nonsense that tends to come with.

English Romanichal and Irish Traveller activists and a German Sinte activist who attended the First World Romani Congress in 1971 all agreed that all Romani and Traveller groups should be covered by the ethnonym "Rom/Roma" even though the word had a different meaning in their dialects. But in Germany in the 1970s the condescension of immigrant Roma led to a backlash in which Sinte insisted on their own name being used. A similar reaction after the mass migration of East European Roma to the United Kingdom from the 1990s has led to English Romanichals in the UK insisting strongly on the legitimacy of the the English word "Gypsies" to describe themselves, although the same reaction has not occurred in North America, where Romanichal activists often support the Roma assertion that "Gypsy" is a demeaning exonym. But in England, former Gypsy Council chairman Joe G. Jones expressed majority sentiment when he said 'Our ancestors were killed because they called themselves Gypsies. Today we will not let anybody tell us we cannot call ourselves "Gypsies”!’ "Gypsies, Roma and Travellers" is now the English-English equivalent of German "Sinti und Roma" and Euro-English "Romas".

I think my most cancelable take is that I'd rather put energy towards re-naming the disorder of Narcissism than put energy towards trying to get people to stop using the word narcissist casually....

if you think that carlisle and esme aren't going to local school board meetings and fighting for t.rans rights and reproductive education, you're wrong. carlisle is often also the medical expert who stands for local/state hearings on bills that threaten lg.btq and reproductive rights.
