Enneagram time with the Links!

I'm gonna type the Links from LoZ games I've played, might do Linked Universe too at some point. Anyway! I am too tired to explain the enneagram properly, but essentially it is a personality system that consists of nine different types. They're sorted by their core motivations and fears, and how they respond to the world in relation to that. Check out more info about that here!

Here's a list of the nine types

Okay, personality dweebs, let's do this!

Skyward Sword Link - Type 9, The Peacemaker, for sure. This boy just radiates type 9 energy. Laid back, doesn't seem particularly bothered by much of anything but when he is bothered, oh boy does it show. Is called "lazy" and a "daydreamer," yet he doesn't show traits of actual laziness. The teachers don't lament his lack of work. He's airheaded and unfocused, but he isn't lazy. Has strong feelings, you can see from how expressive he is. He's very empathetic, patient, and kind.

When type 9s are under stress they gravitate towards the more negative traits of type 6 - constantly anxious (always running too late), distrustful or reclusive (can't tell anyone else on Skyloft what's going on).

Link just... I can't put it into words, he just is type 9. As for his wing, I'd go with a 9w1. This Link isn't particularly assertive or looking for challenges, he's far more introverted, has a strong sense of duty and probably prefers the safety and comfort of routine.

Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask Link - Type 1, The Reformer. His sense of duty, his position as Hero of Hyrule, his need to help the world and protect others literally dominates this man's life - and death!! It's clearly important to him as he imparts this ideology to his descendant, the Hero of Twilight. He sticks around as a stalfos to continue his legacy, to train the next generation because his greatest regret was not ensuring the continued protection of Hyrule and ensuring others fulfilled the duty of the Hero as well. He is quiet, reserved, logical, and incredibly intelligent - of all the games I've played, OoT dungeons are the hardest, and this dude figured them out when he was nine.

Type 1s under stress devolve into the negativity of type 4s, they're emotional, they think no one can understand them, they're isolated and just different, ring a bell anyone? This dude is so displaced in time I can't blame him for feeling disconnected from everyone else and bitter about it. He definitely had a phase like this in his adolescence, I'm sure. And when type 1s are growing and at their best, they have the sense of spontaneity and adventure of type 7s, which seems on par with his I'm-going-break-this-horse-out-of-the-stable-by-jumping-over-the-fence-with-her-during-a-race moment.

His wing would probably be a type 2. He has a very kind heart, even if he doesn't express it well, bless him.

Twilight Princess Link - Type 2, The Helper. Compassionate, putting others first always, having a strong need to defend, assist, and nurture others. This Link is a gentle soul, through and through. Until you put him on a battlefield of course, because wow he is the most ferocious Link of the bunch. And that's a thing with 2s! When under stress they are aggressive and overbearing like 8s!

The entire village relies on this guy before he ever even starts his journey. He's already being a hero to his own people, and it has nothing to do with leading or fight, it's just that he goes out of his way to help others. He is so caring and tender and loving, he whittles away at Midna's sharp edges until she warms up to him too.

His wing would probably be a type 1 because he seems very focused on helping the individual more than the group. He's a local country boy who thinks small scale, has a sense of duty to others specifically instead of a sense of building achievements and success.

Breath of the Wild/Tears of the Kingdom Link - Type 6, The Loyalist. Committed, security oriented, responsible, anxious. Sounds a lot like our boy, right? His anxieties dominated his life prior to the Calamity until his amnesia wiped those away. Committed? Dude, have you ever seen him leave Zelda's side? This is him to a T. Notably, when 6 is in a place of healthy growth, they act more like a relaxed, laid back 9, which you 100% see in Breath of the Wild. The contrast between Link under pressure prior to the Calamity and Link without the world making demands of him is huge. He and Sky Link would be chill besties is all I'm saying. Type 6s and 9s tend to be good friends.

Did I happen to mention that type 6 is filled with self doubt? This boy doubted his ability to be the Hero so much he let the world decide how he should act because he was convinced he would screw it up.

His wing is definitely a 7. 7s are spontaneous, wild, rambunctious, adventurous, and don't plan a second beyond the moment they're living in. He is absolutely a 6w7.

Hiro’s mind is a plethora of possibilities, and he is constantly exploring new ideas. Throughout the movie, he is shown creating new things, through robots, and super suits, and this is what gets him into college. Not to mention, Hiro is often bored by routine, which is why he doesn’t initially want to go to college.

Ti (Introverted Thinking)

Hiro is very attuned to his own logic, and is able to figure things out within minutes. He seems to see the world differently, because he is smart enough to be colleagues with adults, but he also has the maturity of a child- mainly because he is a child. He comes up with the idea to make a superhero group, and sticks to it, despite everyone saying it’s a bad idea.

Fe (Extroverted Feeling)

Like his brother, Hiro has an innate desire to help people, which is what he refocuses his intellect on towards the end of the movie. While he despises Callaghan, he still is able to empathize with him on some level after he finds out he lost his daughter. However, he still knew that Callaghan killed his brother die, and that is something he was not willing to forgive.

Si (Introverted Sensation)

Throughout the movie, we see that Hiro doesn’t like routine, which was a huge reason as to why he doesn’t want to go to college. He also purposefully tries to avoid the past, as it’s painful, however it is seeing the past that allows him to get a better view as to how to carry on Tadashi’s legacy.

Hiro doesn’t like being controlled by schedules, and tends to prefer to do his own thing. Throughout the movie, he prefers not to go to college, despite his intellect, because he sees it as a waste of time, when he can do other things he enjoys. The rule of three is widely used in Genshin, to the extent that the Narzissenkreuz acknowledge it to be an ancient principle. Childe was trapped in the Abyss for three months, or three days. The enneagram shown in every domain combines the Law of Three and the Law of Seven. There were three descenders until the traveler arrived, breaking the cycle. To an extent, some boss battles and archon quests come in three acts.

The bible also uses the rule of three - the three patriarchs, the three kings, then later the three wise men. Jesus is denied three times and asks Peter if he loves him three times. The Holy Trinity. Omne Trium Perfectum.

Childe IS the rule of three. He has three names, three forms, three powers and most recently, he spends three patches tracking and promptly brawling with the all-devouring narwhal, which uses three elemental types. During phase two of the boss battle, the narwhal eats the player and a shadow knight, similar to Childe's Foul Legacy form, appears to fight the traveller. The boss drop "lightless silk string" is shaped like the Ichthus, a symbol that represents Jesus Christ.

In Jonah and the whale, Jonah disobeys God before his boat is caught in a storm. He is thrown overboard in repentance, assuming he is being punished for his actions but is swallowed by a whale. Inside the whale, Jonah laments that he has been "banished from gods sight" after disobeying and abandoning his God. He is offered a second chance, which he uses to bring salvation to the ninevites, who repent and avoid divine wrath.

According to The Knave, Childe said he was travelling to fontaine on vacation. This is directly following the erasure of Scaramouche from Irminsul. After bumping into the traveller, he acknowledges his strange mood and abandons his vision. This hides him from celestia, subverting the prophecy. He follows the call of the abyss which leads him to reunite with the all-devouring narwhal, taking the opportunity to fight with it... which ultimately, leads to Fontaine's survival.

I once ventured deep into the abyss and came face-to-face with an enormous beast. I don't know its name, all I know is the sight of it chilled me to the bone. But mark my words, one day I will march back in there and behead that beast, and you, comrade, will be my witness!

(don't forget, visions are likely celestias eyes. their original name in CN and other languages literally translates to Eye of God.)

Revelations mentions two divinely appointed "witnesses" [revelation 11:3-12] who are initially seen as heroes, before being turned on, shunned by the public and sacrificed. you could argue that the abyss sibling has already ventured this path, being friends with the gods before siding with the abyss during the cataclysm (apocalypse).

While attempting to convince furina to tell the truth, the traveler refers to themself as a Witness. as an outworlder, they are immune to irminsul and thus able to remember both Rukkhadevata and Scaramouche. It is implied that the abyss is also unaffected by celestia.

The abyss sibling asks the traveller to witness the story, hinting at the time loop and inevitability of Celestias will. Zhongli acknowledges this in his second story quest and asks the traveller to remember what Teyvat forgets.

There are many events of ages past... many secrets that lie hidden. They have been eroded by time, forgotten by the people... abandoned. But you are capable of finding them and bringing them into the light. Those who come to witness, will witness. Those who are born to remember, will remember.

According to Daniel 12:12, there are 45 "extra" days after the anti-christ is defeated by a returned jesus christ, in which judgement is declared upon certain nations... the traveller is sentenced to 45 days in prison before Childe and the whale return from the abyss, allowing the hydro dragon to bring judgement upon fontaine.

Fontaine is forgiven by the hydro dragon and the city floods in order to cleanse it of the original sin. before the waters recede, many citizens are rescued by a giant boat... an ark, you could say.

he didn't look back after debuting as a formula one driver at only seventeen years old. the entire time damon kept his eyes on his goals the entire time, adding victory after victory to his resume until he claimed his first world drivers' championship, followed by his second the next year, and his third the year after. the eyes of the world were on him. some of his fellow drivers preferred avoiding the spotlight but after working so hard to get to where he was, damon loved it, embracing the more glamorous lifestyle his growing success provided him, always having a smile for the cameras, so long as it didn't interfere with his racing. he might've been considered the golden boy of f1 were it not for his quick temper, because for as cool behind the wheel and charming off track as damon could be, his temper was just as fiery. if an article wasn't writing about his latest victory or public appearance then odds were damon was making headlines for getting into fights, normally verbal but he was caught throwing a few punches over the years.

inevitably it led to conflict amongst the team, particularly when damon and his fellow driver began getting into more arguments recently. his manager would tell him he needed get a better handle on his attitude, but damon knew that with his reputation and success, he wasn't really at risk of being dropped from the team. he's at the top of the world and has no intentions of coming down anytime soon.

known for his fearless and daring driving style. his overtaking skills are considered legendary amongst the f1 community. also well known for working with the team to plan out his race strategies, including adapting the plan mid-race based on how the car is feeling.

it's very rare for his temper to show itself during a race. his radio messages to his engineer normally calm regardless of what is happening on track, which then causes surprise when, if damon disagrees with the team instructions, he simply ignores them or when post race he'll confront another driver for a racing incident despite sounding calm when it happened.

mama's boy. the first big purchase he made with his winnings was to get her a penthouse apartment in new york. has told her repeatedly that she doesn't have to keep working but she insists she wants to.

Below is a bit of backstory for Phoenix, if you're interested.

PROLOGUE:

Phoenix grew up in Oasis Springs with his mother, Leanne. Just the two of them. His father was an alcoholic and left when he was a little boy, around 5 years old maybe… he’s not sure exactly. They were poor, and Leanne struggled at times to keep food on the table and even a roof over their heads. There was a short period of time when they lived in their car, when Phoenix was about 9. He never felt sad or scared though. His mom would make up wild stories and make it feel as though they were on a grand adventure. But he wasn’t oblivious to their struggle either. He used to promise his mom that one day he would be president. He would be a great leader and would make sure no one else ever went without food to eat, clothes to wear, and a bed to sleep in. Eventually, Leanne found a stable job and was able to afford a small trailer home to call their own. They had it pretty good for a few years… Until she passed away suddenly. Phoenix lost everything in that moment… he’ll never forget those long two minutes at his shitty summer job, when his boss put a hand on his shoulder and quietly walked him back to his office… but he remembers nothing of the 24 hours that followed. It was all just too much.

The only family they could find was his uncle, his dad’s brother, Julian Vega, who was living a quiet life in Copperdale. Phoenix hadn’t seen his uncle since he was a child. He didn’t remember him much, but he remembered liking him. He was kind and quiet, preferring to keep to himself. Julian was heartbroken to hear what had happened and agreed to take Phoenix in and care for him until he turned 18 and graduated high school. Phoenix wanted to put up a fight… at 17 he was old enough to get a decent job and take care of himself… but he didn’t have the energy for it. The experience sucked the fight right out of him. So, he packed his things and headed to Copperdale.

the red eye organization was, in reality, a ruthless factory for producing some of the world's deadliest assassins. driven by the desire to honor his parents and make them proud, max willingly embraced his training. he excelled in ways that surprised even himself, and he became known as glushitel, the silencer, for his uncanny ability to eliminate targets with deadly precision and absolute discretion.

though max's memory remained spotty at times, he paid it little mind, chalking it up to the lingering effects of the car accident that had forever altered his life. his unwavering dedication to the red eye organization drove him forward, as he continued to strive for excellence and to fulfill the legacy of his beloved parents, all the while navigating the truth remains lurking from him just under the surface.

When Anastasia was born, her name was given as a path of life. Her mother having had been one of the most famous ballerinas for the Russian Ballet, it only made sense to give her daughter the name of one of the most sought-after roles for dancers. At the time, her parents had no idea just how big of a force she was going to be in the ballet realm. As others took steps, Anastasia took leaps. She was quickly the favorite in every studio she walked into, and she also managed to be the top of her class in academics as well. Even when making the switch from a public school to a prestigious performing arts school when she was in middle school, Anastasia never faltered in the changes in her life. From Clara in The Nutcracker, to Odette and Odile in Swan Lake, her talent well proceeded her and her mother gracefully handed on the baton of the ballet legacy when she retired. Though, Anastasia loved ballet; the discipline and well as the freedom, she also began to struggle when her mother retired. It was then, that she wasn't dancing for herself anymore, but living a life her mother could live vicariously through. At least she still had figure skating. Figure skating was something that was fully Anastasia's. Even when she was first competing, she loved the adrenaline rush that came from being on the ice. After the induction into the NYC Ballet, after touring headlining shows and juggling a social life and her figure skating, Anastasia told her mother that she wanted to pursue a higher education in mass communications. She received a full-ride scholarship (though she didn't need it) for an accelerated program in journalism and mass communications because of her GPA and outstanding SAT scores to NYU. Her father was the one who wouldn't let her pass it up. Suddenly, Anastasia's name is plastered all over the papers when her competition broke their ankle. Now having to compete in a placement that was given to her on a technicality, Anastasia is battling the negative headlines whilst trying to clean her family name. Ana is currently residing in Merrock as her family's beach house to try to get some of the pressure from the press off of her.

Amirah was born in Jakarta to an Indonesian mother and a Lebanese father, who had met some time after both going through amicable divorces with their first spouses—bringing their children from those marriages into their family. For the first few years of her life, Ames and her older siblings travelled extensively with their parents before moving back to the United States when she was six years old. They chose to settle in Huntsville, mainly to be close to the Lovejoys, who were old friends of theirs.

When Ames started showing an interest in beauty pageants, her parents were initially skeptical but ultimately supportive, paying for dresses, dance classes, and driving her to pageants out of town regularly. She had a couple of titles under her belt when all of that came to a crashing halt due to the paradox hitting when she was almost twelve years old. While saddened, she immediately redirected her energy into other interests and extracurricular activities, in particular illustration—eventually starting her own graphic novel featuring herself and her closest friends as a band of superheroes.

After graduating from high school, she got a job at the local paper which gave her access to their printer (it's her, she is their printer). Most of her time not spent at work or with her friends is now spent working on her book, which she mostly distributes digitally to her friends as well as anyone else who wants to read it, with the occasional print copy of certain issues gifted to various Huntsville residents whenever they serve as the inspiration of a recurring character. It isn't the life that she wanted, but she is doing her best to make it one that she enjoys, in spite of their circumstances.

Her graphic novel series is called The Phantom Guardians and features a main cast of five based on the Five-Man Band trope: Spencer Holmes as The Leader, Izzie Lovejoy as The Heart, Satine Hicks as The Big Guy, Riley Alson as The Smart Guy, and herself as The Lancer. She started writing it after Riley passed as a way to help her cope with the grief. In her story, Riley retired from being a hero and went on to chase her dreams, while the remaining four carry on her legacy.
