In 2001, my company @enter360media was the largest #virtualreality producer in the world. We had our own rendering software and were producing content worldwide. It was delivered online and also on CD-ROM, on kiosks and we served many different markets. Our main focus at the time was hospitality, and when terrorist took out the trade centres in New York, we were forced to diversify to survive. This is one project that we had some press on for a local eye laser clinic. We used VR and AR to turn it into a HUGE success. The goal was to use tech and VR to relieve some of the fears people had, for data-mining prospects and ultimately close sales. Prospects could take a virtual tour of the office and click to walk through doors, then click on equipment and get information on what each did. This showed the process from pre-exam to post op. We also created a data mine, by producing an 11 minute video of the entire surgical procedure from start to finish, but in order to view it, people had to fill out the form and join the mailing list. At the end of the video, viewers had the opportunity to schedule a free consultation. Over 50% of people who watched the video scheduled a consult. The clinic closed 65% of people who came in for a consult. The surgery was $5000+ at the time, and we made this client MILLIONS. Strategy and execution, combined with technology. This was 20 years ago! I have a lot more experience now and technology has come a LONG way, but there are certain ideas I had back then, that have still not been realized. I was a venture capitalist beginning in 2004, and sat on the board for a research and development consortium that used to develop tech, and invested in some. I also developed some tech using the lab’s services. Had a great time in Texas working with Mike on his latest film Minii Ayam (Mongolian for My Journey). I flew from LA to San Antonio to meet Mike and we drove out to his family’s ranch called Rene’s Retreat. We did some edits to lock down the story, recorded Mike’s voiceover, and also drank whiskey, smoked cigars, watched the sunrises and sunsets, hunted some hogs and filmed a ton of wildlife. I also had the opportunity to met his good friend @jayrivierejr. We had a ton of laughs too. Mike Bryant is one of the top benchrest shooters in the world and was on the USA's World Benchrest Team in 2017. He's also one of the top gunsmiths and custom gun builders. I flew to Texas to interview Mike, find out how he got into building rifles, and then filmed him as he built a super accurate custom rifle, from start to finish. This short bio documentary tells his story - how he got started building some of the world's most accurate, recognized ord setting rifles. This was filmed on a single GH5 recording to an Atomos Ninja Inferno recording 4k 60p 10 bit. There are a few 180fps shots but it's pretty much all 4k 60p 10 bit. I used one 12 x 18" flexible LED panels, and three tiny portable LED lights for the subject and the rifles, and a few of Mike's 3200k shops lights for the background.
