Changelings have certainly never had a very positive reputation around Equestria. The species of bug-like creatures mainly known to have ruthless mannerisms that only acts on instinct. Especially when considering the changelings eat love and love alone to keep them from starving. As you can see... These creatures, too, need to feed. And so steal the love hidden within ponies and other living entities for themselves with brute force. And this tiny human here... has love, and a lot of it.

But despite being an aggressive species, they are also known to be rather curious towards creatures they've never seen or heard of before. Which is why being a human is really just a saving grace for you in this scenario. Cause instead of pouncing immediately purely from starving impulse, they know they'd need information to report back to the Queen first. And since this is the first human the changelings have ever met, their natural reaction to encountering a new species is to learn more about it instead of feeding off of it, atleast not before they got all the answers they'd be satisfied with. Considering you are the only source of love and affection around.

The first changelings that have noticed your presence may start seeing you as a tasty morsel. if love is like meat for them, then they're being deprived of it, and then the one creature comes along that's a walking talking buffet of love. They'd observe your actions and behaviours from a safe distance for a little while, taking note of aggression signs or being a potential threat to the hive. But in truth... you weren't. You were more of a lover than a fighter, which gave the changelings the signal to not waste any other opportunity to abduct you into the hive for some answers.

And that's... when something sparked.

Being calm and sedate in your position would usually cease a changelings’ natural instinct to hunt and would often cause in less aggression and forceful measurements. But even if they did try feeding from your love, that would be similar to essentially trying to suck from a dry well, because the transporting process from the human realm to Equestria drained you of many strong emotions to begin with, and it takes a lot more time for your entire alternation from universe to universe to take full effect. And the changelings wouldn't budge from their stubbornness until you reached out to one of them... Brushing a gentle hand over its malnourished frame.

The love that you'd contain would be a tad bit ‘different’ from normal love they'd consume, mainly due to the fact that they never had to actually take it with force. You gave it to them willingly, making the love inserted into them a lot stronger and effective than if they were to steal it. Which results in giving their bodies an intense emotional ‘shock’ as you basically feed them little by little... The shock would still feel good to them, like it would make them feel warm and light headed, but their heart would begin beating rapidly by the shot of immense adrenaline they just got.

The reason why changelings need love and affection in the first place was because they need it for their survival. The value feeds them. As they learn you're capable of feeling and giving love, they would want to keep you around permanently to feed. However, in extreme cases it might lead to a changeling becoming dependent upon one person's love. And their survival might be based on that person's love and affection. and what happens when that person's love and affection starts to falter? There is such a darker side to something so innocent as eating some consensual love.

Which could go either two ways...

Plan A being a bit more complicated. Since they ended up taking a ‘sample’ of you to basically extract the hormones and emotions of love, you had proven yourself to be more productive than all of the ponies they've held captive combined. Feeling more satisfied with the mere sip of love you've happily handed out to them than with any usual prey they had ripped the love from. But the Queen desires love too, because it is essential for their race. And because the hive is almost completely devoid of any love in the first place. You could become a sample for the Queen... Just keeping you there and farm you for love.

But there's also a considerable chance the changelings who captured you would scrap plan A and would instead focus on a plan B... Keep you a secret from Queen Chrysalis and prevent you from being cocooned at all costs, but only under the condition if you keep blindly feeding them with your lovey-dovey personality. Changelings tend to function with a very strict hive mentality... conclusions are set by the swarm's majority of drones’ standpoint. They all have a strong tendency to fall for group decision-making, but they're also quick to swap their beliefs if it seems like the right choice for the best of the colony. So it likely wouldn't even take long for the entire swarm to come to an agreement to keep you secured under high protection and warding.

Due to being a good source, you would give them more positive energy than any other creature who would falter in their fright after being captured... which would make you a rather popular target for the swarm of drones. To a point where the entire hive would start to view you as the "heart of the colony" of sorts. Because a changelings emotions are based on their diet. And the more love they receive, the more addicted and obsessed they'll become with it. So they would all be head over heels at some point, bordering on complete worship ...viewing you as an object of their affection and admiration. And getting even more physically violent to defend and protect you from what they consider a threat to their food source.

They might be feeding off of the love you give them and emotional positivity for now. But if they keep feeding and feeding, eventually they are probably going to want something else than just your emotions, which isn't good... But at the end of it all, they will want to protect you. But their methods might be a bit morally questionable. They have been looking for a more ‘sustaining’ source of love their entire lives. And from what we know... love only grows stronger.

So what happens when a creature becomes utterly emotionally dependant on someone?

What if... they begin to get obsessive?

Instead deciding to ensure no one else gets to have you?

Signs of attacks outside of the hive would become more apparent as time went on, a variety of breeds beginning to disappear aside with half dead creatures covered in adhesive emerging from their hideout as no entity even dares to get close to the shapeshifters. Some changelings would begin arguing with eachother over the delightful taste of your love. But knowing how naturally greedy and hostile they can get, these would convert to physical violence sooner or later, causing a bunch of internal conflict in the colony. A bunch of love starved changelings just riskily fighting over a single human.

It would get so bad, in fact, that there's possibly not even second you'll spend in the hive without a changeling being nearby, just ... watching you. With or without you knowing, there to strike and pull you back in at a moments notice if your demeanor gets too close to flight response. The changeling that you first bonded with would feel remorse about doing it, but the rest of them won't really care much as long as they can keep you in their grasp. Though you would still be allowed to travel closely outside of the hive, they'll keep their little eyes on you anyway...

You'd have this love that's a bit diluted, but even with just having a weaker type of love to feed off of, they'd have to feed for a longer time and drain their energy in order to get it. Which in terms causes in them taking more than they can physically handle. You aren't necessarily a dry well, but rather more of a dripping faucet while they are all dying of thirst. So they could still eat from your given love for a while, but if they try to go all out, there could be horrific consequences...

Because each of them are essentially trying to take enough to survive, their individual feeding sessions can become more aggressive. They don't want to kill you, nor do they understand how strong of a heart you have. So they don't see that they need to be gentle. Because in their eyes, you're considered weaker as a mortal. And your emotions, not being very strong, make their hearts race and they aren't feeding slowly and cautiously enough to keep the heart beating at its normal pace. You're basically a complete reverse card on them. To the point of them becoming so infatuated with you, that they literally forget what they are doing, and basically, accidentally kill themselves with a massive case of overdosing love.

The more of your love they take, the more they will like you. And the more they like you, the more they would try to suck it out. And the more they try to suck it out, the more it would turn into a "want" instead of something more natural. And then, that's when some would begin to die from overfeeding. The emotional shock and overdosing on love being much more overwhelming than the changeling's bodies are capable of handling. And of course, you wouldn't really understand why they were all suddenly lifelessly scattered around you...

It would be quite a challenge for many changelings to have the self control to prevent that fate. I doubt the majority of them would even understand the concept of death enough to avoid it even when their heart rate was going at unsafe speeds. The situation would honestly be safe for the changelings that have enough self-control to hold themselves back, but those who don't would become history real quick... Especially as changelings mainly seem to cocoon their prey. You may have more love to give when you're out in the open, but perhaps you even walking freely might just be enough to push many changelings over the edge.

Though this would also highly depend on the distinct personality of each changeling. Those who were more reasonable would try to just suckle in love. Then we have those who would become a bit feral and aggressive trying to tear the love out of you. Making it like a really twisted irony that they want love, but by trying to obtain love, in this way, they could essentially doom themselves. The ones who are more in control and more disciplined may survive. But either the greedier or younger, more immature changelings might get too excited and just want more and more. Which leads into them destroying their bodies via the very thing they wanted. The ones that do manage to control themselves will remain very interested in you however. But even if their fair sense of attachment and perhaps even bond towards you won't fade...

This is nothing more and nothing less than a parasitic relationship

Honestly time just doesn’t exist anymore lol. Sadly I didn’t have an hour or so until now so I hope I can ‘ask’ this soon. (Same to you, good whatever time of day it is for you!)

Box stuff: (honestly that’s a bit hilarious because we have shifted so far from box stuff and I think this is where Reggie taking people‘s baby pictures came from)

1. I love how you have classic teenage boy angst starting with caps that’s funny. And very true, Alex will come over as soon as he can and tell Luke how much of an idiot he’s being but affectionately (also in the way that friends can but if parents tried to do the same you wouldn’t listen yk)

Yes, mom and son bonding time. I just love the idea of Alex telling Emily everything that’s happening while they are cleaning or making food is adorable. And Emily spreading gossip is everything (also Luke’s childhood stories because what best friend doesn’t want to lovingly tease their friend)

Wait I love that idea. Personally I don’t feel like Alex or Reggie would go to their parents just because it seems as if they left on bad terms. Although Luke did leave on bad terms with his parents as well, I just feel that checking in on them once is something that he would want to do. Also that last sentence is sad, kind of shows that when something happens to someone there will always be another person who is affected by this. That you can’t always tie up loose ends, for example in the show we see the boys say just before ‘the band is back’ that in those 25 years they don’t know what happened to their friends or their family. So it’s easy to assume that they had friends outside of the band and whomever they are possibly the boys would’ve wanted to say something to them but they never got a chance to. (Also I’ve seen theories where the boys have siblings which if this is true then maybe one of them could go back to that sibling/s)

Yea the song is sad. Also could relate to Julie and how she lost her mom that how in the show. They kind of dance around the fact that the boys are some thing that Rose sent down to her ‘you were an angel in the shape of my mom’.

(Also if you want another sad song, ‘soon you’ll get better’ by Taylor Swift because if Rose did die from cancer like some theories I’ve seen have suggested then this song which is very emotional and kind of talks about this as well could relate to Julie and her mom as well) (I promise you can throw some sad songs my way as well, I know I’m just throwing really sad ones at you lol)

Anyways, going back to the actual conversation. I believe that we did say Emily and Julie are close because they’ve met before and just in general after Julie gave her that song they became closer. But yes they hear it one day and just get so upset, maybe someday Julie plays it for Emily and Mitch 🥺

3. I love that, also adding onto this Willie is basically the same way however his experiments don’t turn out nearly as well also he’s just in love with the fact that Alex can legitimately not use a recipe book but make some thing extraordinary. But yes, Luke and Reggie are horrified especially when Alex throws the recipe book. ‘Bye bye Mr. Recipe Book’ as you said.

Board games and jam:

1. Yes, exactly. Reggie just starts laughing when Alex throws that one but quickly stops when Alex throws one at him as well

Exactly, his weapon of choice is his drumsticks, which may not seem threatening but seeing as which Alex is rather tall and weirdly has very good aim they hurt when he throws them.

That is what I was picturing, like Caleb just looks in shock for a second because how dare someone throw drumsticks at him, but at the same time someone threw a drumstick at him.

Among us

Yes, Alex is always annoyed how everyone voted for him with no prove. So he always tries to sabotage Luke, every chance he has.

Alex kind of gives up not talking to Willie after about 10 minutes, his puppy dog eyes convince Willie to never do that again. (Also because Alex has no problems killing Willie if needed)

Honestly everyone just kills Luke first and he gets upset about it but everyone is laughing. Also exactly, if he doesn’t die first then he is usually the imposter.

Accessories- I actually looked at them before I made my comments and I completely forgot about the hat as well but I saw it and I was like oh that’s such a Reggie move. Yes that is exactly why Carlos has the paper bag.

Honestly Flynn being competitive is everything and very true. Also yes, she is totally impatient like I’ve read these rules probably three times and this decision is taking forever so give money.

Alex just sneaking Willie money is very in character and I love that. Alex just being like no is similar to how he says it during the ‘girls am I right’ scene

Honestly monopoly just takes forever and sometimes people just don’t have the patience for that also as you said arguments are a very real thing that happen. (honestly part of the reason why I said Flynn is competitive because depending on the game I can be the same exact way)

Oh yes, Flynn is just like you’re trying to accuse me of cheating and you’re trying to pretend that we haven’t seen you smuggling Willie cash this entire time, Sure Alex.

Oh my goodness, and while Reggie is avoiding Luke. Alex in the background just casually says something like ‘now you know how I feel.’

2. Exactly, and of course Alex is just like Aw Willie is laughing so I may forgive this for now but you’re still replacing this.

Yea I’m hoping that Arthur will grow on me. Also I just haven’t had a lot of time to Address to his character aside from like the two interactions with Merlin who honestly if anything kind of starts the fright.

Exactly. Alex just being done with Luke 24/7, ‘I’ve had to save him 25 times so far, how is that possible’

6. That’s hilarious because Alex is freaking out over this cute hair flip however at the same time he is in the thought processes of ‘oh I have to act cool in front of my best friends because they will definitely tease me more later, so what should I do’

Exactly, honestly I don’t blame you and I totally support that writing decision lol. (On that note best of luck with your other requests, also with school because it seems like it’s been a tiny bit stressful and I don’t mean to over impose but I just hope you’re doing well!)

8. Oo I’m excited for the tangent. I completely agree they are the perfect recipe for a band because their strengths are each other’s weaknesses so they’re able to balance each other out so well. Also in a way where one of them won’t get a big head or anything.

Luke- exactly, and although he does have his insecurities the others are able to balance this and help him out just as much as he helps them. Especially where he is kind of like the leader of the band unofficially with being the lead singer and everything it’s easier for him to possibly get cocky or something but we don’t see that. More often then not, as you mentioned it he tries to be there for his band and make sure that they are doing well before he thinks about himself.

Reggie- precisely, honestly I feel like some people don’t recognize how important an instrument is until you don’t hear it anymore (will bring this up later with Alex). And if they didn’t have the bass line and the one set of back up vocals that Reggie provides (Alex/Bobby as well) then the songs would definitely be lacking some thing. He has such an incredible vocal range, which I feel like is shown rather well in stand tall because although he doesn’t have a lot of solos. It kind of shines very well in the solos he has in that song. (Also the actor in general just released an EP which also not only displays his musical ability with the instruments he can play but his vocal ability as well)

Also, as you mentioned his kind of role as the happy one kind of balances out Luke’s go with the flow, (honestly not sure for Bobby they haven’t shown his character a lot to know but possibly another voice of reason) and Alex who can overthink things and can be mature.

Alex- kind of like what I said earlier. When Alex says get ‘woke these are sensitive times’ due to Luke saying that they didn’t need to have a drummer for that song (later we see that Alex is drumming in that song) if they didn’t have a drummer for that song then the entire tone of the song would’ve been changed because they didn’t have percussion and it possibly could’ve been overwhelmed with string instruments.

Agreed, it’s easier for the drummer to be overlooked but he keeps the rest of the band on track and if the one that the boys fall to if something goes wrong (for example when they appear and Julie starts freaking out, Alex says that he should handle it and the boys let him immediately).

Bobby- Yes, I feel like if season two focuses on the past of Sunset Curve a bit more then it will be easier for us to see what exactly his dynamic is in the band. Exactly, they would be lost without having Bobby in their band. And as you mentioned, he is part of the glue that holds them together from our previous discussions as him being a counselor and who the band would turn to.

I love how you described it because you’re completely right. Without the other three there then it’s easier for Bobby to feel more alone because now he doesn’t have his support system that he’s relied on for who knows how many years. Also as you mentioned he doesn’t have the band reminding him to either let loose a little bit or when to stop so he’s easier to manipulate if that’s the direction that the show wants to take. Honestly I just don’t want to think about Alex or Reggie or Luke being alone that night but exactly, they would be a mess without each other.

11. Honestly Reggie just forgetting to mention that he met celebrities at their concert and stuff is such a in character move.

(Noted, we can just pretend that it happened in like 1994 lol)

17. Oh my goodness, I know we mentioned that Reggie had a Caleb scrapbook. However honestly I forgot about that and it’s hilarious to think about Nick having his own page in that scrapbook due to when Caleb. possessed him.

Oh my goodness, yes. Just like ‘I get that you are trying to take our souls however I want your baby pictures right now’ - Reggie.

Honestly I just want Caleb to be good just because not only is the fashion incredible but Cheyenne Jackson is such a phenomenal singer and it would be sad if due to the character being a villain that eventually they had to get rid of him.

Precisely, he just want to protect them all and he totally would love Julie for the reasons that you said.

I love the idea of Reggie just walking into the White House and basically everyone jumping out of their seats and helping Reggie take over the world.

Exactly, they seem to have a very good alliance between them however as the snow fight continues they all just switch sides and eventually it is just Willie and Carlos, Julie and Reggie, and Luke and Alex. (they are really bad at keeping alliances, in the end everyone has had an alliance with everyone) (and or just keep the teams I mentioned but they are definitely chaotic enough for every team possible to happen)

20. Same here, and it’s just so easy to tell that they are close together which makes the their chemistry on screen seem really believable. (Friends, ect)

Exactly, they do you have a few moments however it’s that way for every actor and some of those may just depend on personal preference. Also for quite a few of them as they get more experience than how they act will definitely improve and honestly just seeing how phenomenal they are now, I can’t wait for that to happen

Honestly yes, just jealous Willie I guess. Also just completely ignoring what is happening on screen and what the show is literally trying to show them.

I agree ,because although I feel like it would be interesting if somehow the theory was in the show. At the same time I just feel like it would overwhelm the show and it would be easier for Caleb to turn nice then for him to not be the one at fault. That’s an interesting theory, honestly I didn’t think of him handing over HGC over to Willie and is a new take that may be nice to explore, if the show wishes to.

Honestly, Luke and Flynn‘s friendship does deserve its own post. And legitimately if anyone messes with Julie then they would have to run because not only would Flynn and Luke have problems with them but the rest of the ghost boys alongside Caleb probably would come after them as well.(And the family)

21. Phew, I’m glad you I agree because I legitimately have no reasoning for that except for I just want to see Alex just casually say one day that he got arrested and have Willie just be so startled.

Oh yeah Reggie and Luke would start the fire but Alex would be the reason that it’s continuing to burn while Bobby is just unbothered on the side. Going with the Sunset Curve graffiti, that’s exactly what happened but if any asks they have no clue how it got there.

25. I’m just imagining Carrie accidentally being turned the wrong way for some of the conversation and then she faces Willie and although he was laughing before he all of a sudden gets really serious. (Although it’s Luke’s and Reggie‘s shovel talk that makes him the most afraid)

I love how you’re like it’s not because I want Flynn and Carrie to be together however that’s basically the entire reason. (I embellished a little bit but yeah) But I do agree, I feel like Carrie and Nick could have such a great potential to be friends. I love how you said that it’s Caleb who says yes to going back to Carrie that makes her suspicious not anything else that he does.

32. Honestly the fact that Alexander‘s Reggie back to the park manager with a batch of cookies is such a mom friend to do and a very in character move for Alex.

37. Legitimately Reggie is just banned from using laundry mostly because Alex and Luke were very horrified that day which they never want to experience again. Yes, and it wasn’t even a colour that made sense but one that theoretically is supposed to be impossible but Reggie managed to do the impossible.

I also love the little detail of candles being banned from the studio because Luke once out his arm in it. Also going off of that Luke and Reggie are also banned from using lighters just because they think arson is fun and would definitely try to set something on fire.

Oh my goodness, Luke being on fire and Alex just being done ‘Luke we are dead it’s not going to hurt’, and Julie is just saying something along the lines of how did this even happen. (Reggie is kind of panicking as well but he is probably the reason why Luke is on fire)

I love the fact that Julie is the first person who believed Reggie about having the Queen‘s baby pictures because that is adorable. Also just because a Reggie and Julie friendship is needed so much.

Good whatever time of day it is for you (honestly love that lmao)! 100%, time hasn’t existed since like March which is why I accidentally slept from four til nine and am now answering this at half midnight because I’m unable to sleep and also it’s brilliant, but anyway!

Box Stuff (oh yeahhh this is where the baby photos came from!)

1. Lmao I love that idea, Alex comes in and sees Luke like sat amongst utter chaos and he just goes “Luke, that was dumb” about whatever he did and Luke just grumbles “I know” obviously doing the angry puppy face. Also I love that detail, like if a parent said it then it’d be unacceptable but it’s a friend so it’s fine, I totally get that. He’s like “this is what I think you should do” and Luke grudgingly listens.

Side note: the way we’ve been talking about Alex is really really strongly reminding me of one of my irl friends and this is literally nothing to do with any of this but I’m now projecting her onto Alex so I wanna headcanon that Alex was really close with teachers. Not in a weird way, like they just got on well with him because he was a good student and he was bright and happy when he wanted to be, and he was mature and well-mannered and everyone he ever met would do anything for him. It’s not like he was a teacher’s pet, it was more like they trusted him and were friendly with him and tended to give him higher grades because he was so nice.

Anyway, idk if that made sense, but back to the actual points! Omggg yes Emily telling Alex all Luke’s stories! (Like places he got stuck as a child bc as we know Luke will get stuck anywhere 😂) Alex starts bringing them up whenever Luke is being particularly annoying - “bold words for someone who cried when they met Mickey Mouse at Disneyworld” and bonus points if Emily happens to be in the room (like they’re at Luke’s house or whatever) smirking to herself because she loves her boys

You put this so beautifully omg 🥺 I think you’re definitely right about all of this, Alex and Reggie would have not wanted to see their parents and given that opportunity to Luke instead. And like yeah exactly!! Alex says they had other friends but we never hear anything about them and it makes me wonder what they did when the band died. Also this got me thinking about tributes the school would have held for them and all the different things going on in their honour, and people being careful with Bobby (like people were with Julie after Rose died) because he’s been so down and them all carefully offering their condolences and saying they’re sorry for his loss and ouch. Oooh yes personally I really like the idea of Alex having a sister who’s quite a lot younger than him like ten years but I think that’s just me projecting, no matter what I definitely think he had a sister. It says in the show that Luke was an only child (and sidenote: that made me headcanon that Mitch and Emily really struggled to have kids, possibly going through infertility treatment and Luke was the only child they didn’t lose during pregnancy but they still ended up losing him anyway), and also I like the idea that Reggie had an older brother who he didn’t see much. I think Alex would have liked to see his sister again but Reggie wouldn’t have minded either way about seeing his brother

I haven’t heard that song but I’ll make sure to listen to it in the morning! And I’m so glad you said I could suggest songs lol because I literally only heard this for the first time about an hour ago but I’m already in love with it - Don’t Stop... by Oasis is literally such a beautiful song and I can definitely imagine it as something Rose wrote to Julie, Ray and Carlos like Wake Up before she died, or alternatively a song sort of similar but not really to Unsaid Emily, more like Luke trying to comfort Emily. It’s less sad and more sort of comforting and emotional, but it’s absolutely gorgeous!

Omggg Julie playing that for Mitch and Emily, I would cryyyy. I feel like the Patterson’s have a piano so Julie would be at their house one day and start playing the chords and humming along and Emily and Mitch would watch as she slowly starts singing and it turns into a proper performance and everyone’s crying by the end omg I love it

3. Lmao that’s great, Willie sees Alex improvise and is like “how hard can it be?” and tries it by himself and almost sets the kitchen on fire. Alex just isn’t even surprised and helps him clean up, then the next time Willie wants to do it Alex helps him - turns out Willie should just be banned from the kitchen at all costs because even with Alex there it still ends up going wrong. And I love that, how Luke and Reggie would just be horrified when Alex throws the book away. Like Luke would go and get it from the trash or wherever Alex chucked it across the room and would nervously say “you need this buddy?” but Alex just waves him away like “NO it’s stupid get it out of my sight”

Board Games and Jam

1. Pfffft this whole thing literally made me laugh out loud. Reggie thinking it’s hilarious but his face immediately falling when Alex is against him, immediately trying to backpedal.

Also I read it wrong bc I thought it said “Alex is weirdly tall” and I was like I’m pretty sure he’s not like much over six foot that’s normal??? Then I read it properly and was like oh ok that makes more sense. And also you’re right, like a drumstick may be a flimsy piece of wood but Alex has perfected his technique and good god it hurts if it hits you

Lmao that’s exactly what I was imagining too! Caleb just looking completely flabbergasted because How Dare someone throw something at him?? And while he’s still looking shocked, another drumstick hits him. He starts to look annoyed more than shocked and another drumstick hits him. Alex kills him literally the next round.

It gets to the point where if someone finds Luke’s body and there was no one near it at the time then they’ll just ignore it and won’t even call an emergency meeting bc they can’t accuse anyone of being sus because it could literally be any one of them unless someone was running away from the body. Luke gets annoyed so quickly and won’t do his tasks as a ghost because everyone is laughing at him and being mean about his death

Exactly! Flynn has the rules memorised word for word and if someone tries to do something they can’t she will literally be out of her seat like “NO bitch play by the rules, why can none of you play this game properly?!” and everyone is like “... calm down all he did was accidentally move his piece three spaces instead of two. chill.”

I love that so much, also because I feel like they wouldn’t really talk much outside of game nights and stuff - like Willie would be good friends with Flynn so Alex would talk to her whenever they all hang out, but most of the time it’s just them as a group so their interactions are almost always them arguing about the rules of Monopoly. The only time they’re in agreement is if Luke (and only Luke) does something wrong then they will gang up on him, Flynn bc the rules are very important to her and Alex bc he thinks it’s funny

Literally same, tbh I’m usually the one who starts arguments during any board game so it’s good we can both project our competitiveness onto Flynn 😂😂

Unrelated sort of, but it kinda reminds me of this scene in a show called Miranda (idk if you’ve ever watched it? Again it’s one of my all-time favourite shows. It’s getting an American remake actually called Call Me Kat which Cheyenne Jackson is in!!) where the main character Miranda is talking to the love interest Gary. Basically they’ve not seen each other in years and so Gary asks what’s going on in her life and she tells him she’s an Olympic gymnast. Later he asks if she’s seeing anyone, she says she’s married and has two kids called Orlando and Bloom. Gary says he’s single and she’s like “oh me too” so he asks about the husband and kids and she’s like “we’re divorced now. The kids are... dead” anyway yeah now I wanna write a Miranda AU lmao

8. Luke - exactly!! His selflessness can be dangerous sometimes bc he might just forget to take care of himself but the others balance it out. Also yeah it would be so easy for him to get cocky but he just doesn’t because the band means so much to him!

Reggie - yes to all of that! His solo in Stand Tall is beautiful, and I legit can’t remember if I brought this up before but my favourite Reggie lyric is that “today!!” in Now or Never because it’s just amazinggg. And yes!! Jeremys new music is literally so good, I haven’t listened to all of it but like you said it’s such a great display of his abilities and he’s so so so underrated within the fandom and in general

Alex - yes!! That’s the perfect example because even luke doesn’t realise how important Alex’s part is and like that’s Luke of all people

Wait yeah that’s a great example! Alex keeps them on track by trying to calm Julie - I mean, admittedly he doesn’t do a great job (“wHy ArE yOu In OuR sTuDiO?!”) but they know that he’ll be the best guy for the job

And ok ok ok just this got me thinking - imagine if it had been Luke left alone that night. He finds that his three brothers are dead and he’s just completely lost. It suddenly feels like his dreams have been crushed because he doesn’t want to go on with music without the band. He doesn’t know where to go, but he feels himself longing for home. So he goes to the studio but it doesn’t feel like home anymore. Without the other guys there, making noise, or staying quiet, or laughing and joking or making their music, it doesn’t feel like the home Luke had considered it before - it just feels like a room, a draughty old garage with shattered memories and newfound loneliness. But he’s still aching to go home, he just doesn’t know where that is anymore. He walks, and he keeps walking, trying to find somewhere that feels accepting and welcome but nowhere fits. He doesn’t even really know where his feet are taking him. Eventually he stops walking and he looks at where he is, and he sees that he has stopped outside his house, at the end of the driveway. Through the window he can see Emily knitting and he’s reminded of Bobby, and he sees Mitch doing a crossword in the paper and he’s reminded of Reggie, and he sees a Cake cooling on the counter and he’s reminded of Alex, but also he can just see Mitch and Emily. He walked himself back to his parents. He walked himself home. And he has no idea what he’s going to do or say but he walks up to the door for the first time in months and he knocks and it’s Emily who answers and for a moment they stare at each other and without a word they both move to hug one another. They’re crying, quietly, and Emily whispers into his ear, disbelievingly, “you’re home” and he realises then that yes, he is. He comes in, tells them everything that happened, and from then on they support him and help him pursue a solo career - he dedicates all his songs to his fallen family.

Exactly!! As brilliant as Cheyenne Jackson is at decadent villain songs, I’d rather get rid of those and have him turn good than defeat him and have him leave the show :(

32. Yes!! I love the idea of Reggie finally getting back to his friends with the ranger. His jacket is all covered in dirt and Alex brushes it off him while saying “never wander off again, Reginald, we were worried sick, anything could have happened to you” and all this. Then the next day Alex hands over the cookies to Reggie and is like “take these to that nice park ranger, it’s the least we can do”

37. Reggie managing to do the impossible is a theme we’re making kinda and I’m loving it! He just has a knack for doing the impossible and most of the time it’s just absolutely terrifying or confusing so that means the guys just don’t trust Reggie with complicated things because he’ll do them but in the weirdest way possible (I hope that made sense but i don’t think it did 😂)

“Because they think arson is fun” lmaooo perfect. If ever Alex or Bobby or Julie finds out they have a lighter on them for any reason they get put in the Time-Out Corner and they literally act like preschoolers about it.

Reggie being the reason Luke is on fire that’s freaking hilarious omg, it’s the one time Alex didn’t realise he had a lighter and of course it ends in disaster. He’s only panicking bc he feels bad and also he’s annoyed because now Alex knows he had a lighter and he’s gonna get put in time-out

The best moments of Ducktales in the second season

Here only one scene per chapter will be emphasized, plus the critical score of the good of the chapter, that is memorable and that left a certain continuity. (i.e. the same as the previous publication)

10° "The Bravest Duck of Two Worlds" (S2 Ep 17 "What Ever Happened to Donald Duck?!")

This chapter showed us even more why Donald is the best main character in the series along with Launchpad and Webby; the part where he fights with Lunaris while he's angry is satisfying along with Jones' explanation of why Donald always gets angry is spectacular. Here the most recognized character in the mouse house was given a new depth and became more popular than before. Besides, adding to Penumbra's words "There goes the bravest man of two worlds" is a perfect ending.

Donald the last cool uncle and father.

9° "The Song of the Three Caballeros" (S2 Ep 4 "The Town Where Everyone Was Nice!")

I know it deserves to be higher up, however there are two reasons why it is in this position, first the episode is a bit far-fetched with the part of the inhabitants not showing their feet which are the roots of a giant carnivorous plant and second because the others are better, even if, this fan service was wonderful, every reference to the song in the movie was incredible and all the fans screamed like crazy when they sang the song; I know they changed one word that is gay, but it was because in the context that the movie was released which was the 40's it had a different meaning and then it would have another one later, but it doesn't take away that the song is very good.

The Three Caballeros ride again. (As I love these three)

8° "Flintheart's Victory Dance" (S2 Ep 10 "The 87 Cent Solution!")

The funniest scene in the series is very short, but it makes you laugh at how sadistic and burlesque Flintheart was when he thought Scrooge really died, until the time the episode came out, most of the fandom made jokes about this scene and I don't blame them.

The best scene in Flintheart and the funniest episode of the show.

7° "The return of a great friend" (S2 Ep 14 "Friendship Hates Magic!")

If Della's return excited the whole fandom, so did Lena's. After being in Webby's shadow and experiencing jealousy towards Violet, the emo duck returns to the scene to save her best friend from her own jealousy along with a girl who didn't trust at first that she should join her because they care about Webby too. The part where they are about to return to the material world and Lena almost disappears, leaves an emotion of sadness, however, when the bracelet takes an important role, Lena returns now to the material world and that group hug between the girls of a nice closing and giving a new friendship for the tender duck of the pink bow.

6° "The harsh words of a son and a mother" (S2 Ep 21 "Timephoon!")

This scene generated a great debate in the fandom in general and that's why it's on this list; Louie almost shits the whole universe just to avoid the hard work and get it easily, while everyone forgives them, Della was the only one who did give the stop to his son and both give each other strong words, especially Louie leaving a tense environment and everything ends up being Louie punished by his mother who lived less and confiscated his dream and nobody says anything. I leave him in this position because of how powerful he is and how he generated debate in favor of Louie or Della.

Although they reconciled in the end, it's lacked more emotion in reconciliation.

5° "A Christmas in Dewey's Past" (S2 Ep 6 "Last Christmas!" )

Again, Dewey takes the scenes for himself, even though it was for something nice. When Dewey is with the young versions of his mom and his Uncle Donald when they captured the family friendly version of the Wendigo and Dewey hugs his young mom it was very sweet, it was obvious that Dewey didn't contain the emotion of giving a first hug to the woman he wanted to meet.

(There he left another plot hole as to why Della when she returned to earth wasn't surprised when she saw Dewey for the first time)

Maybe I'll leave you in this position because the chapter in general is very good.

4° "A mother's most awaited embrace" (S2 Ep 12 "Nothing Can Stop Della Duck!")

Everyone wanted to see this and it went faster than we thought, but it doesn't take away from the fact that this scene made history in Disney animations; Della hugging her children and them hugging her back is very emotional and it made almost everyone cry.

A well-deserved position, because the rest of the chapter falls a little later in the third act, however, doesn't take away the fact that this scene is Della's most memorable in animation.

3° "The Song of the Moon" (S2 Ep 7 "What Ever Happened to Della Duck?!")

Another memorable moment for Della is this; she spent a lot of time trying to get back and ruining chances because of the moon bug, after meeting the filthy liar Lunaris and Penumbra, the broad who tried to kill her three times (Della's sasuke, please you can take it as irony if you understand the reference) and see that the mistreatment that was ruining her chances actually had a baby to take care of and Della understood immediately how she felt, she wants to calm the baby that was crying with a lullaby (which is the NES Ducktales moon theme) and it calms him down, it's nice and leaves a feeling of satisfaction. Della gleamed with this.

2° "F.O.W.L" (S2 Ep 23 "Moonsavion!")

There are many good moments in the "Moonsavion", although the most outstanding is at the end of the chapter, where we reveal a few things, leave several doubts and a new threat that promises to be better than the imbecile of Lunaris; hopefully they will not disappoint with this. At that moment I was surprised and began to dislike Gandra Dee (I'll give an explanation, if time permits), my expectations grew more and left a possibility that gives a lot to the fandom.

And so a new and promising threat is presented.

1° "They want grim and gritty, huh? Happy to play the part." (S2 Ep 16 "The Duck Knight Returns!")

Although "Moonvasion" wants to be epic, this episode is EPIC and with desire, is the best episode of the second season and is in one of the best of the reboot, the only flaw that has is Dewey no more, but the rest is glorious from beginning to end and its end is excellent, because it gives two very good plot twist, the revelation of the real Drake Mallard and Jim Starling who survived the explosion and immense in madness and hatred becoming the villain Darkwing: Negaduck; it's spectacular and with those words he says at the end I leave a mark on the chapter and giving the hope of seeing it once again.

Here Frank was again great with this chapter, respecting that he is Darkwing Duck with modifications well done by a great fan of the character.

Episodic Patterns for Episodes 8, 9, & 10

Good morning, Everyone! How was your Thanksgiving. Mine was great! Lots of family, craziness, WAY too much pie. Good times! ;D

Okay, so I’m first going to talk about the video released on the official YouTube channel that shows clips of Beth’s, Carl’s, and Deanna’s deaths after the 10x08 trailer. Because that’s what got me thinking about this. I said originally that showing Carl’s death along with Beth’s made perfect sense to me, but Deanna’s mystified me a bit.

Well, after hashing things out with my fellow theorists, I have much more to say. Actually, @wdway came up with these initial observations all by herself, so kudos to her for that. What she observed is 100% accurate and insightful, and led to me realize these other episodic patterns. So let’s go through these quickly.

There are some subtle parallels between Beth’s, Deanna’s, and Carl’s deaths. Mostly, it has to do with the way they’re set up in the MSF. In each case, the death is “announced” if you will in the MSF, and we’re kind of led to believe that they’ll die in that episode. Except that they don’t. They’re given another episode to kind of wrap things up.

So with Beth, this is obvious. At least to us TDers. We’re led to believe she died in the MSF, and we don’t think she did. But even setting the death fake out aside for a moment, even 5x09 is kind of a continuation of her death. We really shouldn’t have seen her at all after 5x08, but we did.

Seeing her, even as part of Tyreese’s death hallucination, was a surprise. And we have other clues (like the group running to their cars) of other things that may have happened in the interim that we aren’t privy to. So the idea is that things might not have gone down in exactly the way we were led to believe based on the MSF.

Deanna’s is less dramatic. We knew she’d die one way or the other because she was bitten. She was given a gun to end her own life rather than be eaten. And we had clues that it wouldn’t go down that way (she opened the door, screamed at the walkers, and fired at them) but we didn’t’ know because we didn’t actually SEE her death. (Perhaps another Beth parallel.)

Then, in 6x10, we do learn that things didn’t go according to plan. Because Deanna, as a reanimated walker, is stumbling around outside of Alexandria. So, she couldn’t have shot herself in the head. But she also wasn’t eaten by walkers.

Something happened that helped her avoid being a meal, but also led to her reanimated self getting not only out of the room but outside the walls. What was it? We don’t know. And it’s probably not even very important because Deanna wasn’t a super main-stream character.

But the point is, things didn’t go down the way the MSF finale led us to believe they would. And we have parallels to Beth’s death both in the mystery surrounding what happened with Deanna, and the fact that Spencer looked for her as a walker, which we also believe Daryl did with Beth.

Carl’s death is similar. We found out about his bite in the MSF and many people might have pegged that as his death episode. Yet, they gave him another episode with a much bigger send off to tie up all the loose ends. So things didn’t go down quite as people thought they would, based on the setup in the MSF.

There are other subtle parallels as well. I have to point out the gunshot-to-the-head theme that runs through these. The theme is present in all three, but what actually happens is different each time. Beth is shot in the head, but we believe it didn’t kill her. Deanna is supposed to shoot herself in the head, but doesn’t, and reanimates as a walker as a result. Carl actually does shoot himself in the head, and it kills him, and we see his burial/funeral.

There are other rabbit holes we could go down as well when it comes to the symbolic ties between these deaths. I’ll just mention a few things without actually going down them.

Carl is the one who sees walker-Deanna and leads her to Spencer so Spencer can put her down. He tells Michonne such things should be done by family or someone who loves the deceased person. That he would do it for her. You could see that as a foreshadow of Carl’s death. The way it’s presented, it almost seems like a foreshadow of Michonne’s death (“I’d do it for you,”) but it wasn’t. Carl said it and it was about him. A foreshadow that when he was bitten (like Deanna) Michonne would be there to make sure he got put down and didn’t reanimate as a walker.

But the thing is, this conversation takes place right after Carl says the thing to Baby Judith about using the North Star to find your way HOME. Saying that and then talking to Michonne about his death (not literally, of course) also entangles Carl’s death with Beth’s return.

See what I mean about the rabbit holes?

I also think it’s interesting that Michonne was involved in a big way in both Carl’s and Deanna’s deaths. Makes you wonder what her role in the missing 17 days after Coda was, doesn’t it? And what her role in Beth’s return will be.

But let’s switch gears just a bit, here. Thinking about all of this helped make a pattern clear in my mind about the structure of episode 8, 9, and 10 in each season. And I think you’ll all like this because it’s another, concrete way to point at episode 10 as possibly being when Beth returns.

We all tend to think and say—me especially—that each season is divided into 16 episodes with two major arcs: the front half and back half. And while that’s true, it’s not quite that neat and tidy is it? The two arcs don’t consist of 1-8 and 9-16. Rather, the first arc tends to be 1-7. 8-9 is a shit-hits-the-fan mini-arc,

and then the new arc for the back half starts in episode 10. Hence all those damn sunrises we see, yeah? ;D

I think my biggest takeaway here is that they never FINISH in episode 8 what they started in episode 8. They usually short it up in episode 9. We already talked about this with character deaths, but it’s true in a more general sense as well. Ep 10 starts the new arc, and, more often that not, it includes them finding a new group or community.

So I had to think through all the seasons. Or at least, all the ones since S4. Arguments can be made for 1-3, but I’ll stick to the ones after Gimple took over.

S4: So right off the bat, S4 was a little different. I think that’s mostly because they split into so many little groups and they had to show them all. But of course the big event in ep 8 was the prison going down,

but ep 9 and 10 were continuations of that. Hence all the running. Again, I think this took 2 episodes because 9 was just about Rick/Michonne/Carl and then 10 covered Bethyl, Maggie/Sasha/Bob, and Glenn/Abraham/and co. They didn’t actually find a new community, but all of them started moving toward Terminus in one way or another.

S5: Obviously the shitstorm in ep 8 was Beth/Grady. And while it’s still a little unclear how ep 9 continues this, the biggest clue is that Beth was actually in episode 9, albeit as a hallucination. And it’s hard to pin down because it was so metaphorical and abstract, but the more you think about it, the more it makes sense. Ep 9 was about taking Noah home. That was to honor Beth’s wishes, and Noah came to the group courtesy of Beth/Grady anyway. So that episode really was an outgrowth or extension of the Grady arc.

And it ends with a burial. Of course it was Ty’s, rather than Beth’s, but now, after all this time, I can see that it was meant to symbolize Beth’s as well. Not because she actually died or got a burial, but rather because, for all intents and purposes—both to the characters and to the audience—she was dead, and that was the end of that arc.

The new arc starts, of course, with Aaron showing up to bring them to a new community: Alexandria.

S6: This is a big one for me. I always said 6x09 would have made a WAY better MSF than 6x08. The big event was the church falling on the fence and letting walkers into Alexandria. (Yeah, I know it technically happened at the end of ep 7, but that was just for the cliffhanger effect. Ep 8 was them dealing with the horde.)

And ep 8 left off right smack in the middle of the action. Daryl/Sasha/Abe were still facing Saviors on the road, Eugene was still calling for help on the radio, Rick and co held hands and moved into the horde, but things were far from solved. Maggie was still trapped on the scaffold. Glenn and Enid were still outside the walls. Then ep 9 comes along and all the great stuff happens. Daryl plays with a rocket, everyone returns to the Alexandria, Glenn and Maggie reunite after 8 episodes apart (end of death fakeout, by the way), Daryl stars the lake on fire, Carl shot, Jessie & sons eaten, and epic battle against walkers for Alexandria.

So my point is, they didn’t wrap things up until episode 9. New arc begins in ep 10 when they meet Jesus and go to Hilltop (new community).

S7: Much less drama in the middle of S7, but ep 8 ends on a confrontation with Negan and Rick deciding it’s time to fight back. It continues in ep 9 as they try to figure out exactly HOW to do that and where they’ll get the resources.

New arc begins in ep 10 when they meet a new community (Scavengers) and the arc for the rest of the season focuses on building things up toward the war.

S8: We already talked about Carl’s death, which is definitely part of this pattern. In terms of plot, the big event was the bombing of Alexandria.

But when it ended, it REALLY didn’t end. Carl didn’t die, everyone was still hiding in the sewer, and plenty of people were still running around in the woods in the dark, trying to figure out what the hell was going on. It didn’t wrap up until ep 9, including Carl’s death and burial. I think the “new community” aspect in this season was Enid and Aaron going to ask Oceanside for help. So, not a new community, but they weren’t a part of the war yet, and there were TONS of Beth symbols around this arc, which is important.

S9: So I really wasn’t sure at first if they’d stuck to this pattern in S9, especially given that we know Andy left later than originally planned. I couldn’t even remember off the top of my head which episodes were which, and had to go look at them. Yeah, they totally kept to pattern. The big event was graveyard/Whisperers/Jesus’ death,

which came from going to rescue Eugene. But you can tell they didn’t wrap it up until ep 9 because we didn’t see Jesus’ burial/funeral until ep 9. In terms of episode 10 and finding a new group, guess what episode 10 was? Omega, where Alpha shows up at the gates. So yeah, they totally pulled it off.

So what’s the point of all of this? Well, they’re following pattern this season. They started something in episode 8 (Daryl and co going to find the horde and look for Lydia) but it definitely didn’t finish. It ended in the middle of the action, much as it always does. So I’m fully expecting that they’ll solve that particular problem in ep 9, and if there are any character deaths, they will no doubt happen then. (No idea if any of the reports about Connie or someone falling off a cliff will prove true, but IF they do, it will be in episode 9 anyway, not 9).

As for them meeting a new community, which should happen in episode 10, we don’t REALLY know what it will be…except that they’ve been filming at Grady so we do. Whether it’s actually Grady or some other hospital, chances are it will be introduced in episode 10.

And the fact of the 10:10 clock on Beth’s wall, which episode will probably coincide with them finding this new community? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I think it’s safe to say that Gimple planned for this a LONG time ago.

So yeah. Just wanted to point that out and hopefully it carries everyone through the hiatus and gets you excited for 10b. Thoughts?

The Toonami Trending Rundown for March 23-24, 2019. Megalobox ends its run with a bang as Joe and Yuri have their highly anticipated rematch at the Megalonia finals. Meanwhile, the League of Villains begin their surprise assault at the UA’s hidden campsite, Asuna learns about the Soul Translator and the Underworld as Kirito recovers from his injuries, and Meruem wishes to spend his last moments with Komugi, among other great moments.

On Twitter, Boruto and every show from Sword Art Online to Shippuden on the schedule would successfully trend in the US. #MyHeroAcademia and #SwordArtOnlineAlicization would also trend alongside these shows, but not outright.

Several character trends were also spotted from JoJo’s, Black Clover, and Hunter x Hunter, with Josuke and Rohan (As Josuke somehow cheats his way into winning a dice game), Asta (as Ladros gets back up and proceeds to pummel everyone, forcing Asta to unlock a hidden power), and Meruem (as he spends his last moments with Komugi before both succumbing to the radiation).

Following the success of My Hero Academia: The Two Heroes in theaters, Studio Bones and Toho Animation have announced that a second film of the hit franchise is in the works, scheduled to premiere sometime in Winter 2020. Funimation has yet to reveal plans for a theatrical release this side of the Pacific at this time.

Netflix has announced that they will be putting up the original Evangelion series up on their streaming service on June 21. Unfortunately, it has been revealed that Netflix will be doing a completely new re-dub with a new cast as Amanda Win-Lee, the show’s original ADR Director and voice of Rei, has revealed that she and the original crew will not be invited back by Netflix to reprise their roles.

Toonami creators Jason DeMarco and Gill Austin recently talked with our friend and media partner Joshua Mathieu (@jmb70056) from Toonami Squad, including how Toonami will remain competitive in this golden age of streaming, its new partnership with Crunchyroll, and the 30th anniversary of DBZ, among other things. Sports anime has historically been a tough sell for the Western anime fandom. During the mid-2000’s, Toonami saw IGPX and the Prince of Tennis stumbling and Slam Dunk and Eyeshield 21 ended up pretty much DOA. While the sports genre of anime has seen a resurgence this decade thanks to the likes of Free, Yuri on Ice, and Haikyu, due to the previously mentioned shows’ focusing more on the slice of life aspects rather than the action, it perhaps came as no surprise that Toonami wasn’t really interested, and thus a sports anime joining the better cartoon show in the modern era remained elusive. That was, until Megalo Box came.

A show created to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Ashita no Joe, this futuristic reinvisioning of the classic manga and anime in Megalo Box was a notable hit and fan favorite among Crunchyroll viewers during the spring 2018 season with its acclaimed music, animation, and story among other things. The series would become one of the most requested anime to eventually air on Toonami, especially when Viz announced that they had licensed and were producing a dub at Anime Expo, and I think it’s safe to say the requests were heard loud and clear by Toonami and Viz. During New York Comic Con, Viz had announced that Megalo Box would make its debut on the better cartoon show on December 8, and the rest is history.

13 weeks of Joe’s quest to reach the top, and Megalo Box’s run is in the books. During the show’s run, the show successfully trended on Twitter in the US every single Saturday it had aired during its 13 week run, and included a character trend in Mikio during week 9. The show also showed up in the top 30 Amr Rahmy’s Fan Screening app during all 13 weeks.

Whether we will see more of Joe’s story in the future is hard to say, but overall Megalo Box overall was an enjoyable ride and it was great to see Toonami commemorate the golden anniversary of this historic franchise. Thanks for the memories.

Due to the glitch that preempted SAO last week, and with the next acquisition apparently not ready to go just yet, SAO will premiere both Episodes 7 and 8 from 12:30 to 1:30am ET. In addition, we’ll also see the conclusion of Hunter x Hunter’s Chimera Ant arc, while Boruto begins the School Trip arc, and Naruto begins The Taming of Nine-Tails and Fateful Encounters arc, among other moments. 20 Questions for Simmers

1.) Favorite Sims Game

While I have played and loved every version of The Sims, I think my absolute favorite was The Sims 2. It was the one I couldn’t put down! The little details and humor are what really stand out when I look back, and I don’t remember having any real problems with it either since the game itself was pretty solidly developed and bugs tended to be squashed quickly. Overall, I was never bored playing The Sims 2 and I still occasionally boot it up just to reminisce.

3.) CC or No CC

I play with a small amount of CC. Everything I download is Maxis-match, and I pull pieces out whenever we get new official content that I can use instead.

4.) Preferred Part of the Game

I really like each part of the game and try to spend my time evenly among them. Lately I’ve been building and messing around in CAS more than actually playing though. Oops!

5.) Favorite Expansion Pack

In The Sims, my favorite EP was Makin’ Magic. I was so young when I played that I thought I was incredibly clever for figuring out the pattern to the spells in the dueling arena so that I’d win every time. And I had a lot of fun creating one of each type of potion and then trying them out on the poor, unsuspecting townies!

In The Sims 2, my favorite EP was Bon Voyage. I spent so much time completing every single vacation memento! Some of them were really hard to figure out too, so finishing the collection was really rewarding to me. All three of the destinations were equally fun to explore with their local dances, gestures, foods, and massages. I could really feel the difference between visiting Takemizu Village, Twikki Island, and Three Lakes.

In The Sims 3, my favorite EP was Ambitions. The firefighter career and the new inventing skill were the real highlights to me. I spent weeks creating a Simbot without cheating, and firefighting was a really exciting change from the standard rabbithole careers. Another neat feature was the ability to sculpt statues of Sims. Never-melting ice sculptures looked great in mansions, and of course stone sculptures made great monuments to ‘famous’ Sims in town.

In The Sims 4, my favorite EP (so far) is Seasons. The weather effects are beautiful, the raincoats and rainboots and umbrellas are adorable, kiddie pools are the greatest item ever created, and temperature is just such a vital addition that it's finally starting to feel like a full game for me! Seasons and weather in general also function differently in each world, which is perfect. I didn’t want snow in Oasis Springs, and Brindleton Bay desperately needed fog and rain to feel complete.

6.) Favorite Game Pack

In The Sims 4, my favorite GP (so far) is Vampires. I never really liked this life state before, but this time around they’re fantastic! The abilities help differentiate each vampire from one another, and I love that they don’t have to ask permission nicely before biting a Sim. The sticker cracks and spider webs are also something I’d been wanting to help make places seem less perfect. Overall, the life state seems so detailed and sets a much higher bar for future life states. I don’t even mind paying for each individually if they’re this well-done.

7.) Favorite Stuff Pack

In The Sims 2, my favorite SP was H&M Fashion. Honestly, I just really loved all the new clothing that kept my Sims from constantly matching each other. And building a clothing store with all the cool retail items that came with it was a lot of fun too!

In The Sims 3, my favorite SP was Town Life. The rabbitholes were more modern and added some variety since most of the others were the same building with slightly different colors. I had a lot of fun remodeling my more modern worlds with them.

In The Sims 4, my favorite SP (so far) is Laundry Day. I’m a sucker for realism elements so adding another menial chore for my Sims makes me happy. The laundry system is surprisingly complex, the furniture filled in a lacking farmhouse style I felt was missing from the game, and stackable machines look perfect in apartments. The clothing and hairstyles were also very well-done and I have to actively try not to overuse them on all my Sims.

8.) Least Favorite Expansion Pack

In The Sims, my least favorite EP was House Party. It felt like the smallest addition we were given, and parties weren’t enough for me to explore more than a handful of times before I got bored. As soon as the next EP came out, I moved on to the new content and I don’t think I ever threw another party again.

In The Sims 2, my least favorite EP was Nightlife. It wasn’t bad at all, it was just the one I used the least. My personal gameplay style at the time was incredibly family-oriented and you just don’t take your kids to clubs. I only ever went to the new Downtown subhood for first dates and a few marriage proposals since the date interactions were pretty cute.

In The Sims 3, my least favorite EP was Showtime. I don’t think I ever really played with anything from it. The ‘optional’ online connection where you would send your Sims to someone else’s game to perform really made me mad since some of the items you paid for were locked away behind it and I had no desire to participate. And the whole in-game news feed and achievement system were horrible and really caused problems. The venues were also super glitchy so even when I did give the new active careers a go, trying to complete a performance was almost impossible. Overall, the whole thing felt like more trouble than it was worth.

In The Sims 4, my least favorite EP (so far) is Get to Work. I think my expectations were just too high going into it. The active careers are okay, but none of them make me actually want to follow my Sims to work past the first few days because they get highly repetitive and there’s no real risk associated with them. The retail system also seems a bit lacking. There are very few retail items to use when building a store, although I do have to mention that the clothing mannequins are pretty cool. And actually running it is too easy since you can just instantly restock the items even if they’re unique things that you’ve made your Sims create.

9.) Least Favorite Game Pack

In The Sims 4, my least favorite GP (so far) is Spa Day. It’s not nearly as immersive as the others. There isn’t much to do outside of getting a massage or doing yoga, and both are kind of boring to do repeatedly over and over. It doesn’t expand on the gameplay nearly enough to be categorized as a GP in my opinion; I’d demote it to SP.

10.) Least Favorite Stuff Pack

In The Sims 2, my least favorite SP was Glamour Life. It added the least versatile stuff. Most of my Sims weren’t swimming in cash, so the items, particularly the clothing, were rarely used since they’d look and feel out of place.

In The Sims 3, my least favorite SP was Katy Perry’s Sweet Treats. I didn’t even buy it and I have no idea why anyone did. The objects were all horrible and cheesy. There was literally nothing good about it. At all. Ever.

In The Sims 4, my least favorite SP (so far) is My First Pet. No matter how many times they deny it, it’s a massive money grab. The furniture set literally completes what they left incomplete in Cats & Dogs! The clothing is for the most part just recolors of what we already have! And to top it all off, there’s just one new critter. They claim four, but it’s the same thing with a different skin overlay. I am perfectly fine with some items in a pack being dependent on owning previous packs so that they can continue to expand on past content. But to release this immediately after the associated EP and for it to pretty much be the rest of the items that we were missing from said EP...certainly seems like they withheld content just to wring an extra $10 from their players. Especially since it wasn’t even mentioned in their quarterly teaser. Haven’t bought it, and will not until it’s on sale.

11.) Custom or EA / Maxis Sims

EA / Maxis Sims are the best! I adore the premades and their unique, weird stories. My favorite thing to do is make them over and put an interesting spin on their storylines while still keeping them recognizable.

12.) Households or Single Sims

Definitely households. I prefer organized chaos with lots of things going on at once! There just isn’t enough to do when there’s only one Sim.

13.) Free Will On or Off

Free will is always firmly set to off in my game. I’m a dictator when it comes to my Sims and I make no apologies for that.

14.) Favorite Life Stage

Toddlers. They’re just so darn cute! The expanded skill building this time around is really cool since they actually learn in discernible stages instead of all at once, and I’m still not over their ability to go up and down stairs all on their own. The little mess-makers also have some of the cutest interactions with other Sims and their environment.

15.) Favorite Life State

Aliens. The first time I ever had a Sim abducted was in The Sims 2, and it terrified me because I had no idea what was going on and didn’t know if he was ever going to come back. Then he was finally returned and popped out an alien baby! It was just so surprising and ever since I’ve had a particular fondness for extraterrestrials.

16.) Favorite Skill

Cooking is probably my favorite skill to build. Something about getting to see what those difficult dishes look like is just fun to me. Since The Sims 4 actually includes 3 separate skills for cooking, gourmet, and baking skills I’ve been having a blast discovering all the new recipes!

17.) Ever Completed a Legacy

Only once, way back in The Sims 2. It lasted a grand total of 16 generations before I wound up making the move to The Sims 3. I’ve tried numerous times since then, but The Sims 3 was too buggy to play a single file that long and The Sims 4 is still missing a couple of key features that I’d like to have before trying again.

18.) Longest Simming Session

When I had more free time (and was significantly younger), I happily confess to wasting away a full weekend playing The Sims 2. These days I’m lucky to get a couple hours a week here and there. Ah the joys of growing up!

19.) Personal Sims Wishlist

There are a few things I’m still really missing for The Sims 4. I’m hoping universities and witches are making a comeback soon as they’re crucial to my planned storylines. Fairies, werewolves, and a beach vacation world would also be wonderful to have but they’re less important to me.

20.) Unpopular Opinion

I don’t miss the open world system from The Sims 3 at all. I’m perfectly happy trading it for every world to be connected. Every save file is a megahood and I find that preferable to a single, completely open world. I also think that it makes the game more stable for everyone, especially lower-end computers. The loading screens are worth it!

Mark Tuan, stage name: Mark. ‘93 line, rapper. Also in charge of acrobatics / fly boy stunts. From LA, USA. Quiet, very intelligent. ISTJ personality. The only one who can pull the hyung card on Jaebum and BOY, WHEN HE DOES. Sometimes pegged as the ‘bad boy’ but lol. Mark’s laugh cures evil and creates butterflies. Deep ass rap, will make you shake in your boots. I know you want me, so stop fronting.

Im Jaebum, stage name: JB. ‘94 line, vocal and leader. Korean. Also writes / releases music under Def (used to be Def Soul, soundcloud here). A tsundere hoe, to quote myself. INFJ personality. Very intelligent, typically takes a more subdued role in the group but DAMN, MEMEBUM. Don’t let the rude exterior fool you, Jaebum is a straight up meme. There are hours of footage on Youtube to prove it. Owns like, a billion cats and they all sleep in his room. OG cat is Nora.

Jackson Wang, stage name: Jackson. (Chinese name, Wang Jia Er). From Hong Kong, China. ‘94 line, rapper. ENFJ personality. Was a nationally ranked / world class fencer until he was 17. Convinced his parents to let him audition for JYP, moved to Korea and followed his dreams of music. Speaks English, Korean, Mandarin, Cantonese and Shanghainese. Jackson is pure sunshine in addition to being the most extra variety star in existence. Will do a forward flip every chance he can. Is a gigantic mama’s boy. Would never hurt a fly.

Park Jinyoung, stage name: Jinyoung (IF YOU CALL HIM JR OR JUNIOR, HE WILL FITE U). ‘94 line, vocal and dancer. ISFJ personality. Korean. Before debuting as part of GOT7, debuted in a duo with Jaebum called JJ Project. Tied with Jaebum for first place at 2009 JYP auditions. Has melodious, beautiful falsetto. Is an actor, appeared in multiple web dramas and was the young main for Legend of the Blue Sea, in addition to the lead in the independent film, Nunbal. Writes fucking bops. Is basically good at everything, the boy to bring home to your parents. Also the man who may take over the world. Idk. I’m not biased.

Choi Youngjae, stage name: Youngjae. ‘96 line, main vocal. ISFJ personality. Korean. Only trained for 7 months before debut, POWERHOUSE vocal. Composes under the name of Ars. Often compared to an otter bc SMILEY and ADORABLE and just actual sunshine. Anyone who hurts Youngjae answers to Jaebum. Hates cucumbers. Co-owns a puppy named Coco with Mark. Constantly damaging Jackson’s hearing with his yelling.

Bambam, stage name: Bambam. ‘97 line, rapper. ESTJ personality. From Thailand, trained with JYP for three and a half years. Legal Thai name is Kunpimook Bhuwakul but is rarely used except in legal circumstances. Bambam is his name lol. ANYWAYS. Bambam has rapidly switched from adorable maknae line to fly-ass fashion mogul. Loves memes, all things pop culture and fashion. Speaks Thai, Korean and English. Loves to interact with fans, especially through Twitter. Constantly calling fans girlfriends at fanmeets, WILL DAB WHENEVER HE WANTS TO DAB.

Kim Yugyeom, stage name: Yugyeom. ‘97 line, singer and main dancer. INFP personality. Korean. Maknae. Main dancer in GOT7, performed twice on Hit the Stage and won first place the second time. Like Bambam, has transformed from adorable maknae to champion of sexy dance. Yugyeom is coming for us all. Is quiet and sweet but also loves to troll hyung line. Specifically Jinyoung and Jaebum. Is the biggest JJ Project fan in the world. One day, Jinyoung might actually kill him.

Their debut single was 2014 with Girls, Girls, Girls. As you can tell, the styling is excellent. Jackson’s small piece of hair popping out of his hat is a personal fave. Thus introduced the boys to the scene though (BONUS POINTS if you spot all the future Twice members LOL)

Next GOT7 released A, which is one of my personal favorites. Yes, that is Sana. LOL ALSO THE DANCE PRACTICES FOR A ARE ADORABLE. This has been a PSA.

GOT7′s first full album, Identify was released at the end of the year with a lead single Stop, Stop It. Otherwise known as those minions outfits. This song will get stuck in your head. THIS ALBUM IS A BOP, THO. Girl Magnetic and Moonlight are two personal favorites.

The next summer GOT7 came back with Just Right. Actually, this is GOT7′s most watched MV on YouTube. It was also featured in the Try Guys (Buzzfeed) watch Kpop video. Famous quotes to know about JB: “While this guy doesn’t look like my wife, he makes me feel the way that my wife makes me feel.” Truth, Ned.

That fall, GOT7 came back with If You Do, a darker concept. Just... watch every single live stage of this. You won’t regret it. Here’s a favorite, though. In December of that year, the released yet ANOTHER EP, which included the holiday single - Confession Song. EVERYDAY from this album is amazing, thank you JB.

In March of 2016, GOT7 came back with the Flight Log Trilogy (Departure, Turbulence and Arrival). The first album, Departure was released in March. The lead single was Fly, and it was bomb af. That’s just fact. The dance practice for this was also freaking adorable. Fave tracks from this album of mine are Can’t by PARK JINYOUNG. Also Rewind.

That fall, GOT7 came back with Turbulence. The lead single for this was Hard Carry, a heavier beat than previous GOT7 songs. Crazy dance, prompted much concern by fans that Jinyoung died in the MV. Favorite songs of mine here are Prove it, Mayday, No Jam and Who’s That.

The next spring, 2017 GOT7 completed their Flight Log Trilogy with Flight Log: Arrival. The lead single for this was Never Ever. Favorite songs are Paradise, Q.

THEN JJ PROJECT CAME BACK. SUMMER 2017, FIVE YEARS AFTER THEIR FIRST EP. Jinyoung and Jaebum teamed up yet again to put out a beautiful album called Verse 2. If you haven’t listened yet, save yourself. Go listen now. The title track was Tomorrow Today, and it was amazing. Truly.

1) Tristania - Evenfall

Randomly came across this video and instantly fell in love. I'm still not too familiar with their work from the 90's, but I'm loving everything I'm hearing from that point in time. This track is just absolutely gorgeous. I will say one thing though. Vibeke's dancing. Gurl.

2) Ruelle - Carry You feat. Fleurie

This song randomly popped up in my recommended videos and decided to check it out since I know a few songs from each of these ladies. This is such a pretty duet. So soft and easy to listen to. And the video is absolutely breathtaking. I really need to check out more from them.

3) Desiderium - Falling

Randomly found this song when going through a depressive moment and was craving gothic doom metal. I really want to check out more from them, because this is some wonderful stuff. From what I found, they only had one EP, which is a bummer, but at least there's some other stuff from me to find. This song is full of so much emotion and is riddled with melancholy, and their front woman conveys it so well.

4) Distorted Harmony - We are Free

These proggy guys are going to be releasing a new album soon, and this song makes me excited. It has a bit of an atmospheric vibe to it at times, but then switches to being a bit heavy. And don't get me started on the dubsteppy bits in the bridge. So. Fucking. Good.

5) Phosphenes - Boy in the Hood

Randomly found these guys one day. I really like how ambient and soft this is. It's so peaceful to listen to and the video further conveys that with how beautiful it is. Definitely am gonna check out more from them.

6) Purple Nail - Whenever

I've been wanting to listen to more of their work from Lady Crow's era with the band and came across this gorgeous track. It's so haunting and absolutely everything. If you're a fan of gothic metal, definitely give these guys a listen. They now have a new singer (the one who followed Lady Crow left the band shortly after the release of their new album) and I'm super excited to hear what she brings.

7) Elvellon - Until Dawn

The title track of their debut album and it's a gorgeous one. It's strong, beautiful, has powerful lyrics, is heavy at times and truly shows off everything that makes this band the amazing thing it is. I can't get enough of this band. They really blew this album out of the water and I can't wait to get my copy!

8) The Autist - Anima feat. Polina Psycheya (All I Could Bleed) and Alina Lesnik (Once)

They did that! Hands down my favorite song they've released so far. Such a powerful, dramatic and epic song. Everything about this song is perfect. The whole Anima EP is wonderful, but this song is a definite stand out and is a nonstop powerhouse from start to finish.

Bloodlust feat. Dragica Maletic (Demist) and Polina Psycheya

I love Dragica's voice so much and I need to listen to more from Demist and check out her cover channel on YouTube. This song has a bit of a doomy vibe to it, and her voice really fits well with it. It really adds a haunting dimension to the song, and Polina's growls push that vibe even further. Although Anima is my favorite off the EP, this song definitely stands out the most.

9) Svrcina - Who Are You?

Found this after listening to Carry You by Ruelle and Fleurie. I love cinematic pop tracks like this and I'm such a huge sucker for pitch-shift harmonies. It's such a great song to just chill to and has such a cool vibe.

10) Amaranthe - Maximize

Rekindled my love for this one day when I got in an Amaranthe mood. It's such a fun song and the chorus is ridiculously catchy. I find myself just randomly bursting out into song singing the chorus. Definitely my favorite off Maximalism. And I can't wait to hear their upcoming album with their new singer.

11) Adimiron - Zero Sum Game

Found these guys through their record label. The best way I can describe their sound is progressive death metal with a djent vibe to it. Definitely a cool track and the singer has a cool gritty voice when he does his cleans.

12) Piqaia - Artifact

Found these guys through Spaceuntravel and I'm really digging them. They're almost like a blend of Tesseract and Voyager. Atmospheric like Tesseract, but still has a technical feel to it like Voyager. I'm definitely am gonna check out more from these guys. The singer has such a gorgeous voice and goes so well with the vibe of the music.

13) Trillium - Nocturna

Tectonic is a really great album, but it's nowhere near as symphonic as Alloy and definitely leans more on the power metal side. With that being said, this song has the most symphonic vibes to it, given that Amanda sings operatically at times in this track. It's such a beautiful track and the last bit in the chorus is so gorgeous.

Eternal Spring

This song stood out the most on Tectonic. It's just Amanda's voice and some beautiful orchestrations. It's full of so much emotion and so much power. This is the song and vibe I was waiting for with this album, and the fact they left it for the very end of it to drop it makes this album even better. The perfect way to close the album.

14) Qveen Herby - Livin the Dream

EP 3 was really great and a bit more on the R&B side of things. It had some amazing tracks (Sade in the 90's being my favorite), but this song stood out a lot to me. It has this humbling feeling to the lyrics as Amy looks back on her life prior to how her life is now. Even though things were a bit rough, she still remembers it being some of the best times of her life. It has such a great message behind it and the instrumentals reflect it so well.

15) Raving Season - Silent Lake

I finally got around to listening to Amnio after knowing about these guys for a few years. They're a female fronted symphonic gothic doom metal band. They're the only doom band I've encountered with a female screamer and female clean/opera singer duo. Usually it's a male screamer/growler with a female singer, but not these guys, and it works so well. This song here is beautiful. It's so haunting and gets absolutely gorgeous around the 4 minute mark and through to the exit. So good.

16) Juno Reactor - Let's Turn On

A friend on Facebook shared this video and I decided to check it out because the thumbnail looked pretty. Holy tits is this video gorgeous. It's so pretty thanks to all the lights on the suits and the tools they hold. The song is so weird, but in the coolest way possible. Electronic music will always have a very special place in my heart. Definitely am gonna check out more from these guys.

17) Diary of Dreams - The Wedding

This song randomly popped into my head one morning and wound up rekindling my love for it. It's been YEARS since I last listened to it. It takes me back to the days when I listened to it on the regular when I was younger. Definitely a great darkwave track. The synths are probably my favorite part of the song, ESPECIALLY the ones in the third verse. I need to look into these guys again.

7 F-Rated Dividend Stocks to Avoid

Total return. That’s a combination of growth and the dividend a stock returns. The dividend is kind of like a guaranteed return, even if the stock doesn’t perform or the market rolls over.

That’s why companies that offer dividends are considered shareholder friendly. They return some of their net profits to their investors and generally back that dividend, even in hard times.

Plus, even small dividends on stocks are outperforming saving account interest, money markets and CDs. You can have your money invested at a better price than keeping it in the bank and get an added growth kicker.

But that doesn’t mean you can pick any stock that provides a dividend. When times get tough, a company may cut its dividend to keep the company afloat. Now, that’s not the case in all companies that provide dividends — some have been paying and growing dividends for more than 50 consecutive years.

However, the seven ‘F-rated’ dividend stocks to avoid here aren’t in that select group. They’re in hurting sectors and are struggling to keep their stocks up, and businesses going:

Strategic Education (NASDAQ:STRA)

Equity Residential (NYSE:EQR)

Federal Realty Investment Trust (NYSE:FRT)

Kennedy-Wilson Holdings (NYSE:KW)

Energy Transfer LP (NYSE:ET)

CF Industries (NYSE:CF)

The name might not be familiar, but a couple of its products might stand out — Strayer University and now Capella University. Both are online and Strayer has 78 campuses around the U.S. with its original campus in Washington, D.C.

In early November STRA announced the merger with Capella, which will provide some help for both organizations in expanding enrollment around the U.S. during the novel coronavirus pandemic.

STRA’s recent Q3 numbers were down from last year, due to the pandemic. And it also recently sold operations it had in Australia and New Zealand. There’s also talk about starting a culinary school with Sur La Table.

It’s working hard to find a way to succeed in this market, but STRA stock is down 44% year to date. And another bad quarter or two may mean the dividend could be cut, which would send the stock into freefall.

Equity Residential (EQR)

As a real estate investment trust (REIT) you would think that EQR would be having a field day right now.

The problem is, EQR is in the apartment rental market in major cities like San Francisco, Boston and New York. That means two things, neither of which is good.

First, the pandemic has been especially hard on large urban areas due to population density. And when those cities shut down, people lose their jobs. That means rent is no longer a reliable source of revenue.

Second, people that still have jobs and are working from home are starting to look outside of big cities to work. And that means rising vacancies.

This double whammy is hitting EQR stock hard.

The stock is down 26% year to date and has a 4.1% dividend. The risk here is, things could get worse before they get better given the resurgence in the pandemic.

Federal Realty Investment Trust (FRT)

This REIT has been around since 1962, and it has a very good dividend record. But the problem is, while its dividend may be safe, the dividend isn’t going to help your return on the stock, since its properties are focused on locations where the pandemic is making life hard for retailers and renters alike.

FRT focuses on mixed use properties in upscale markets in significant urban centers around the U.S. The problem now is the REIT is exposed to the double whammy of reduced foot traffic for the high-end retailers (and keeping those storefronts occupied) and reduced interest from property owners and renters moving into high-density urban locations.

And with potential localized lockdowns reappearing in major cities as the pandemic worsens, this will continue to affect FRT’s ability to get back to good times. Worst-case scenario means the dividend may be at risk.

But even if its dividend remains intact, the stock is down 30% year to date, so its 4.7% dividend is cold comfort as downside risk rises.

Kennedy-Wilson Holdings (KW)

While KW calls itself an international real estate company, it operates enough like a REIT that it’s in the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trust’s directory.

It has multifamily properties as well as commercial and hotel properties in the U.S. and Europe. That means it’s under the same pressures as the previous REITs but on a global scale. And its hospitality division is particularly under stress, since European nations are locking down once again.

There is still some optimism for KW stock in the markets, but the jeopardy levels are rising. And its current 28x price-to-earnings ratio seems a bit rich for a company with this much at risk.

Also, that P/E is after the stock has sunk 27% year to date. Given where the world is right now, thinking 2021 is going to be on track for a big, global economic recovery may be a bit optimistic. And its rich 5.4% dividend isn’t turning that red to black, and it may be in jeopardy if the pandemic has its way this winter.

Energy Transfer LP (ET)

The midstream energy market — pipelines — is usually a solid place to be when energy prices are volatile, since these companies operate as toll takers for companies using their pipelines. The price of oil and natural gas don’t matter to these companies.

But what does matter is demand. And it’s looking like the U.S. is under siege from Covid-19 and at best that means people are going to stay close to home. Certainly the winter season in much of the country will increase demand for natural gas for heating, and that’s EP’s specialty.

Yet that seasonal demand is baked into its pricing and performance models. This quarter will certainly be weaker than it was a year ago.

Limited Partnerships are the energy patch’s version of REITs. They throw off dividends for investors as a percentage of their net profits. But when prices get hit, dividends rise.

ET stock is down 53% year to date, and it has a whopping dividend of 10.2%. That sounds great, but the higher it gets, the higher the risk of a dividend cut or elimination. And that would be very bad for the stock as well.

CF Industries Holdings (CF)

This fertilizer company has been around since 1946, so it has seen some challenging markets over the years. And generally speaking, fertilizer is a pretty stable business.

CF is the world’s leader in converting natural gas to nitrogen. It has nine manufacturing facilities in the U.S., Canada and the U.K.

The one issue is, this sector can be cyclical. When economies are going strong, the demand for agricultural goods rises and so does the demand for fertilizer.

That isn’t the case now. While CF isn’t in dire straights and will likely get through this current challenging global market, it’s no time to bottom fish the stock.

CF stock is down 33% year to date, so its 3.7% dividend isn’t going to save it from a tough year. And there’s no knowing where the bottom is, so thinking the stock has seen its worst is a risky bet if you’re hoping to sit on that 3.7% dividend here.

Walgreens Boots Alliance (WBA)

On the plus side, WBA stock has 45 consecutive years of dividend growth. On the downside, the stock has been in a significant downward trend since late 2018. Back then, it was trading near $85. Now it’s trading around $37.

Its fiscal Q4 numbers were released in October and they were solid. The pharmacy side of the business was solid if unspectacular and same-store sales were up around 5%.

There isn’t a concern that WBA is going to disappear from the marketplace. But that still doesn’t mean it’s a stock worth holding right now. It is still transitioning its $17 billion purchase of nearly 2,000 Rite Aid (NYSE:RAD) stores in 2018. Given RAD’s struggles, WBA might not be able to fix some of those stores and that could be a drag on the whole company.

WBA stock is down 36% year to date, so its 5% dividend is impressive, but it can’t be the reason to rely on this stock’s ability to recover from here.

Picks of December 2019

Hello! Here are some of my music, movie, and other art picks of the final month of the decade! This year I’ve really been getting into 90s rock, permanent wave, slowcore, and punk rock. This month especially I’ve been interested in the music of the 70s and 90s acoustic songs. It’s been really cool seeing my taste in things progress to where they are now and I’m excited to see what else I find in the new year! Without further or do, here’s what I’ve been vibing with this month. :)

Music:

1. Gut Feeling/(Slap Your Mammy) - DEVO

After rewatching the movie 20th Century Women for the first time in many months, I had a resurgence of my love for the Talking Heads, Black Flag, and the Buzzcocks, and a newfound love for DEVO. My dad when I first got into the Talking Heads at the tender age of about 12 or 13 told me about this band called DEVO. He saw them live for the first time when he was about 17 or 18. Anyways, I’ve grown up with them in a sense but never really paid attention to the work they did. I’m glad I finally decided to give a listen to their debut album “Q: Are We Not Men? A: We Are DEVO!” It’s led me down a rabbit hole of discovering new music and the culture of the 70s (which I’ve come to hold close to my heart). This song has become a sort of anthem for me. I’ve spent countless hours listening to it on loop and having dance parties with myself. The intro comes in subtly leaving you excited for what is to come. After an astounding 2 minutes of heavy drums, keys and a guitar riff that will remain in your head for days, the lyrics come in heavy “Something about the way you taste, makes me want to clear my throat” making it impossible to resist the urge to jump up and down shouting along with the band. Truly a great song would definitely recommend.

2. St. Ides Heaven - Elliott Smith

There really isn’t much to say that hasn’t already been said about Elliott Smith. In my opinion, he is one of the greatest songwriters of all time. His haunting lyrics on this song, in particular, have stuck with me this month and this is yet another song I’ve had playing on repeat lately. It is simple in production and instrumentation but I think that’s what makes it beautiful.

3. Halah - Mazzy Star

The music of Mazzy Star/ Hope Sandoval has really been there for me this year. There’s not much to say other than this song is beautiful beyond compare. It is the first track off of my favorite Mazzy Star project, She Hangs Brightly. I would definitely recommend this song and band to everyone.

4. Pop Queen - Noise Addict

This is an acoustic ballad by 90′s Australian indie rock band, Noise Addict. I haven’t done too much research on the band but from what I know, they were a group of thirteen-year-olds led by lead singer/songwriter Ben Lee. This song, in particular, Pop Queen, is a cute, very raw and very unproduced single with simple yet enticing and creative lyrics. It was the lyrics of their songs that really got me attached to the band. There are many references to other bands I enjoy like the pixies and pavement in their songs as well as what it feels like to be a teenager, something I can relate to as of this moment in time. (I’ve only listened to this ep, Young & Jaded, but I expect to like most of their other songs as well.)

5. Beechwood Park - The Zombies

The Zombies are yet another band my dad loves. I remember him buying Zombies CDs when I was younger so back in September I decided to check them out. I fell instantly in love with their album, Begin Here. This month I decided to make playlists dedicated to my favorite songs from the decades 1960s-1990s. While searching through my library of saved songs I came across this beauty. I hadn’t listened to this song in probably about a year so I decided to listen to it again and it was probably one of the best decisions I’ve made this month. The zombies make these incredible psychedelic songs and I think Beechwood park is now my new favorite. I definitely recommend this song to everyone. (Especially when you’re driving late at night, this song feels extra special)

6. Like Dylan in the Movies - Belle & Sebastian

A friend of mine back in September introduced me to the band, Belle & Sebastian. This month, I was lucky enough to get two of their albums, The Boy With the Arab Strap and If You’re Feeling Sinister, on vinyl. I quickly fell back in love with Like Dylan in the Movies and it’s become a new favorite.

7. Androgynous Mind - Sonic Youth

Now, I’m not about to sit here and tell you that this song is any good. In fact, it’s really just Thurston Moore screaming “hey hey it’s okay” over and over again, but I’ve come to really enjoy listening to it. I truly believe Sonic Youth is a band for everybody. Their entire body of work is extremely diverse, experimental, and different. If you don’t like one song keep exploring their discography and you’ll probably find something you’ll enjoy eventually. For me personally, I love their albums EVOL, Daydream Nation, and Sister the most. Back to Androgynous Mind, however, this is a punchy punk tune that really gets you in the mood to bang your head. If you’re into noise rock/punk and just like music that makes you want to move, this song is for you. However, if you’re more into pop-y music, maybe skip this song.

Movies & TV:

This month I was lucky enough to see quite a few movies that stuck with me.

1. Honey Boy (2019)

Let me tell you, I was really, really looking forward to this movie. Over the summer I watched every Shia LaBeouf movie I could get my hands on. He became one of my favorite actors and I loved learning more about his story. Noah Jupe portrayed a young version of Shia under the name “Otis.” He stole the show. His acting in this movie was absolutely incredible and I’m now a huge fan. Overall this movie was shot beautifully and extremely well written. A new favorite

Other Shia LaBeouf movies I recommend: American Honey and Holes

2. 20th Century Women (2016)

I watched this movie for the first time around the time it was initially released. This is the movie that introduced me to the work of Elle Fanning, Greta Gerwing and Annette Benning. Three incredible women whose work I admire very much. The story is about a young boy named Jamie growing up in the year 1970s. We see him go through the struggles of growing up without a father, falling in love, and just, in general, being a teenager. It is a very powerful movie that I connected to instantly upon watching it for the first time. It was recently added to Netflix so I decided to watch it again and once more I’ve become obsessed. 10/10 would recommend.

3. Bojack Horseman (2014-present)

To be completely honest, I wasn’t expecting to like this show, let alone binge all 6 seasons in a span of 2 weeks. Another good friend of mine recommended it to me and I’m very glad I trusted her judgment. This show was unexpectedly deep and tackled subjects I didn’t think any tv show would ever cover. As someone who struggles with anxiety and depression, I found comfort in Bojack’s character and his struggles with mental health and life problems. This is show is very important and I’m very excited for the series finale to be released.

Alright! That’s it for this month, this year, and this decade! I’ll be sure to write up some more things in January. I think I’m planning on making two posts a month of what I’m listening to and watching. This was fun.

Bulls had upper hand during the early hours of Muhurat Trading.

The benchmark S&P BSE Sensex was at 39,272 level. Only four out of 30 stocks listed on the index were trading in the red. Tata Motors, up 17 per cent, was the biggest gainer in the early trade. Bharti Airtel, on the other hand, was trading 3 per cent lower as the top loser. On NSE, Nifty50 was trading at 11,660-mark.

Sectorally, while all the indices were in the green, Nifty Auto was the outlier with over 1 per cent gain. All other indices gained up to 0.5 per cent.

In the broader market, the S&P BSE mid-cap index was trading 0.7 per cent higher, while the S&P BSE small-cap was ruling with over 1 per cent gains.

OUTLOOK FOR SAMVAT 2076

Going ahead, analysts have ruled out a runway market rally in Samvat 2076 on the back of several domestic and global headwinds, which they say, could keep markets volatile through the year.

On the domestic front, health of the economy, fiscal and current deficits, flows – both from foreign and domestic investors -- into equites as an asset class, interest rates, liquidity issues, policy initiatives by the government and modest growth in corporate earnings are some of the factors likely to impact sentiment.

At the global level, trade war tussle, monetary policy of major central banks and oil prices, analysts feel, are the factors that will dictate market direction. 06:39 PM Kotak Securities on telecom sector The adverse SC judgment on the longstanding AGR case is a massive body blow to Bharti and VIL, in our view. Per unauthenticated media reports, the two companies are liable to pay Rs217 bn and Rs283 bn, respectively. These liabilities pertain only to underpaid license fee and associated penalty and interest.

Related demand on underpaid spectrum usage charges is also quite likely – this demand could be 60-70% of the LF-related demand. We change our rating on VIL to NR (not rated) given the high degree of uncertainty post this event. Upgrade Bharti to BUY with a revised FV of Rs450/share (from Rs370) and retain REDUCE on Bharti Infratel with a revised FV of Rs200/share (from Rs275).

06:37 PM MARKET COMMENT :: Chris Wood of Jefferies World stock markets are increasingly optimistic for a US-China trade deal this quarter, as is GREED & fear. The key question perhaps is whether it is a “mini deal”, which is the consensus, or something more substantial where the existing tariffs are dropped. GREED & fear would also view it as positive, especially for Asia and emerging market equities, if the deal contains a currency component. Markets are expecting, as is GREED & fear, another 25bp cut by the Fed this week. The data that give the Fed the excuse to ease again were the latest ISM data and the latest average hourly earnings growth. Still, if the Fed does ease, as expected, it will be ignoring again the recent pickup in reported US inflation data.

The Toonami Trending Rundown for June 16-17, 2018. Week 3 of FLCL Progressive is in the books and it was a big week for the Dragon Ball franchise on Toonami as we see the conclusion of Dragon Ball Super’s Future Trunks saga, while we witness the epilogue of the Buu Saga (which likely was retconned upon Super’s production) and Midomi and friends head to the beach, among other moments.

On Twitter, Toonami would trend alongside #FLCL, #JoJosBizarreAdventure and #HunterXHunter. Meanwhile on tumblr, #Toonami would trend alongside Boku no Hero Academia and #BNHA.

In less than 3 weeks, the anime community will be converging onto Downtown Los Angeles on the Fourth of July weekend for Anime Expo, and for the very first time, I will be heading up to LA to team up with CJ Maffris, Sketch1984, and others to help bring you ToonamiFaithful.com’s coverage. This week, Anime Expo has been releasing their full schedule of festivities, which you can see by clicking here. We’ll have a full list of events within the coming weeks, but some of the Toonami related events we’ll be keeping an eye on include:

FUNimation and Toho will be showcasing the subtitled world premiere of the upcoming My Hero Academia Movie: The Two Heroes, to be showcased on Thursday at the Main Event (Hall B) from 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm. A panel will follow the film lead by Justin Briner, Colleen Clinkenbeard and several of the Japanese voice actors including Daiki Yamashita (voice of Deku), Mirai Shida (voice of Melissa Shield), and Katsuhisa Namase (voice of David Shield).

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure anime director Naokatsu Tsuda will be headlining a panel along with Patrick Seitz (the voice of Dio), and Christopher Tergliafera (the voice of Avdol) on Friday at Main Event (Hall B) from 3-5pm. According to Anime News Network, some big news is being planned for the franchise to be announced in the summer, and with only 10 episodes of Stardust Crusaders left to air as of this writing, we’ll could likely be hearing news regarding the dub of Diamond is Unbreakable here as well as any possible information regarding Part 5 in the works. In addition, there will also be a JoJo’s theme attraction at AX, titled “JOJO'S BIZZARE ESCAPE: THE HOTEL”, a 6 player Escape Room game themed after the JoJo’s franchise.

With Alternative Gun Gale Online presently airing in Japan and with Project Alicization coming up this October, Aniplex will be hosting a “Sword Art Online festival” panel on Friday to showcase the franchise, including potentially revealing further information to the two new additions. Bryce Papenbrook and Cherami Leigh will headline this panel along with Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, (the Japanese voice of Kirito), Ai Kayano, (the voice of Kirito’s newest harem member Alice), Tomori Kusunoki (the voice of Llenn/Karen), Alternative GGO creator Keiichi Sigsawa, and producers Shinichiro Kashiwada, Kazuki Adachi, and Kenta Suzuki. The panel will take place Friday at the Petree Hall (LP1) from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm.

Maki Terashima-Furuta and Gill Austin will be hosting a FLCL Panel along with several of the new series’ voice actors. In addition to the panel and some giveaways, there will be a surprise showing of a new episode, whether this will be the Progressive finale or the dubbed premiere of Alternative is to be seen. The panel takes place Saturday at the Petree Hall (LP1) from 2-3 pm, and will be immediately followed by the Production IG panel in the same room.

With season 3 of Attack on Titan slated to premiere in Japan on July 22, FUNimation will be hosting a World Premiere event of the first episode on Sunday, with Yuki Kaji and Bryce Papenbrook, the voice actors for Eren, headlining the panel. No word yet on what FUNimation’s plans are regarding simulcasting and a potential simuldub, or if Toonami will be airing season 3 as well, but we’ll likely hear the answers to those questions ahead, if not at this panel. The panel will take place at Main Event (Hall B) from 11:30 am - 1:30 pm.

In other My Hero Academia news, Viz Media is presently working on releasing the My Hero Academia side-story: Vigilantes, with the first manga volume set for release stateside on July 3.

Studio Trigger and Arc System Works have announced this week that they are developing a battle action Kill la Kill video game. Not much word has been released on this new game as of yet, though new information is to be expected to be released during Anime Expo next month.

With the success of Samurai Jack and FLCL, Toonami has been hard at work creating more original productions for the block, and during Jason DeMarco’s recent interview with the Toonami Faithful Podcast, he mentioned that Toonami is presently at work creating two anime productions as well as an American action cartoon. On Friday we may have gotten some new information on the latter, as @CNSchedules noticed that Cartoon Network had filed a new TV show trademark: “Gennedy Tartakovsky’s Primal.”

Back in April when Jason DeMarco was hinting at upcoming shows, he mentioned that one of the next 3 acquisitions at the time would be considered confusing for many people. We’ll this week, with DBZ Kai’s run coming to a close, its replacement no doubt is a surprising one for many, though for long time Adult Swim viewers who are accustomed to the block’s surreal comedy, this acquisition may not come as a surprise.

Indeed, Toonami’s next acquisition is the hit anime comedy series Pop Team Epic, who will be premiering on June 30 at Midnight Eastern. Both My Hero Academia and FLCL will also move up by 30 minutes to air at 11 and 11:30pm ET respectively.

Based on the manga series by Bkub Okawa, Pop Team Epic aired in Japan from January 7 to March 25, 2018 and has become a big fan favorite among those who saw the series across the various streaming sites it has been available on as well as being a popular source for anime related memes. Many fans have likened it to one of Adult Swim’s classic animated comedies, and indeed there have been quite a few requests for Adult Swim to pick this one up.

With many of Toonami’s acquisitions especially in recent times being Shonen Jump works, fans have been wanting Toonami to showcase more variety in their acquisitions, and outside of airing a slice of life moe anime, I don’t think you can get an anime acquisition more out of left field than this, and no doubt this will be an interesting one to check out in two weeks’ time.

Tune in next week as DBZ Kai showcases its final episode, among other great moments. Until then, congratulations to the Washington Capitals for winning the Stanley Cup and finally breaking their 44 year curse, congratulations to the Golden State Warriors on repeating as NBA champions, and of course, let’s go Team US…oh, yeah, they’re not in the World Cup this year, never mind.

Weekly Research Briefing: Still Trending...

The first week of earnings did little to change the overall market’s trend. In fact, it may have provided reasons to reinforce it. While the week’s reports were mostly beats at the top and bottom lines (just like three months ago), the reception to some of the more cyclical company earnings reports (Banks and Industrials) were very unwelcoming. The large sell-offs in the disappointments last week could give investors one more reason to shift their portfolios away from cyclical exposures and into more growth-oriented companies. Another reinforced trend was the -1% move in the U.S. dollar. This came as a result of the Draghi/ECB comments regarding the Eurozone strength and speculation of a future timetable to start tapering their easing bias. Also hurting the U.S. dollar was the stall of Healthcare legislation in Washington D.C. We will have an even bigger week of company earnings reports this week providing more data points on the outlook for the U.S. economy. Let’s see if we get a better or worse tone to work with in this next round of releases.

Earnings hit the S&P 500 movers list hard last week…

Unfortunately, most of the moves happened to the downside as Banks and Transportation stocks sent investors jumping for the exit. At least for Financial investors, some of the non-bank financials joined Netflix on the big upside list. But in looking through the first big week of earnings, I have to say that I am not very impressed by the receptions. Especially in a week where the market ended with a gain.

Even Bespoke mentioned that the average action is to the downside for this earnings season…

@bespokeinvest: Stocks that have beaten EPS estimates are only up 0.59% on average, while misses have fallen 4.7% and inlines have fallen 2.8%.

Plenty of green for the week except in the U.S. Dollar (again)…

You have to start wondering if the U.S. Dollar’s rapid decline will begin to start impacting the unit revenue outlooks for foreign companies.

A bit more of a mixed bag when looking at the weekly performance of the U.S. sectors…

Utilities moving in lockstep with interest rates. Biotech, Technology, and Consumer Discretionary are leading as investors want growth companies. Value lags again as cyclical Bank earnings outlooks are a bust this quarter and early Industrial outlooks are also looking questionable. Then there is the value trap that we call the Energy sector.

ING had a good quote regarding the U.S. Dollar…

For the past few weeks, we’ve been working under the assumption that surely it can’t get any worse for the dollar. From an economic standpoint that’s probably a fair statement; negative sentiment over the state over the US economy has been excessive, while question marks over another Fed rate hike later this year also look a bit misplaced. While next week’s FOMC meeting and 2Q US GDP release could see some of this negativity ease up, US political uncertainty is now having an outright dampening effect on investor sentiment. In this environment, it’s hard to see anything but the dollar staying on the back foot, even if further weakness may be economically unjustified.

U.S. Banks could really use higher, longer-term rates to help their net interest margins…

Low long dated rates and rising short rates combined with increasing competition for bank deposits will put the Banks in a tough spot. Maybe they will get regulatory expense help from Washington but they had better not bet the bank on that. They either need a rising NIM or rising loan growth. The lack of one or both is what is troubling investors this month.

SONGBYRD ARTISTS STORM FESTIVAL SEASON!

Festival season is here! And while the Fyre Fest dumpster “fyre” and general consolidation and proliferation of music festivals has caused many to ask if we have reached “peak festival”, there’s a reason that these weekend- or week(s)-long events are basically more popular than ever—they tend to be a fun and value-packed opportunity to see a raft of great artists in unique settings.

Without delving too much into the topic of festival politics, we here at Songbyrd still love a great festival, especially the ones that retain their local mission and flavor and contribute to cultural and economic wellness in the place they reside. Our favorites include Milwaukee’s Summerfest, which has been a stalwart of cultural and economic ignition in the American Midwest, New Orleans’ Jazz and Heritage Fest, which has a local economic impact of over $300M and uses proceeds for year-round programs in education, economic development and cultural enrichment and, locally, Broccoli City Festival, which has featured and engaged artists and residents from traditionally under-served parts of the District of Columbia and has a stated mission of building thriving urban communities to sustain future generations by mobilizing and educating urban millennials through social impact campaigns and major events.

But whatever your personal leanings (or travel budget!) dictate, our motto this year at The Byrd has been “We’ll Bring the Festival to You”! And to those ends, we take the opportunity to share and get you excited about all the major festival acts you’ll be seeing at Songbyrd Music House during Spring and Summer 2017:

Tkay Maidza (Wednesday, May 24th): Tkay Maidza played every festival in Australia worth mentioning and now a phenomenal performance at South by Southwest has put 21-year-old Adelaide rapper Tkay Maidza on the cusp of global stardom. Tkay’s date at Songbyrd is sandwiched right between her dates at Hangout Fest in Gulf Shores, Alabama and Governor’s Ball in NYC.

Blossoms (Saturday, June 3rd): Blossoms have been nominated for both 'Best Breakthrough Act' at the BRIT Awards and 'Best New Act' at the VO5 NME Awards this year. After its stint on the 'NME Awards Tour' in March 2017, Blossoms headed to North America for a tour this April as well as appearances at this year's Coachella Festival in California, Firefly in Delaware, Bonnaroo in Tennessee, Governor's Ball in New York City and Chicago’s Lollapalooza before heading back across the pond for Reading and Leeds Fest and Bestival. This child of the ’90s, raised on his dad’s classic rock vinyl, has roots that go deeper than you’d guess. She won the BBC's Sound Of 2017. After her U.S. Tour, including the date in DC, Ray Blk also heads back across the pond with Blossoms to play Reading and Leeds Fest and Bestival.

Alvarez Kings (Saturday, June 17th): Four lads from South Yorkshire, UK who gleefully share their moniker with an infamous old school South American gang, Alvarez Kings summon pop power through timeless analog synth and guitar magic. BBC Radio proclaimed “No Resolve” the “Single of the Year,” while they impressed audiences at Isle of Wight and O2 Wireless Festival in addition to show-stopping stints on the Vans Warped Tour in 2013 and 2015 and again this year. In addition, boys will also be at Summerfest.

Chastity Belt (Friday, June 23rd): This June marks the release of I Used to Spend So Much Time Alone, their third and finest full-length to date. Recorded live in July of 2016, it’s a dark and uncommonly beautiful set of moody post-punk that finds the Seattle outfit’s feelings in full view, unobscured by humor. Chastity Belt hits Bestival along with Blossoms and Ray Blk later this summer.

Current Music Obsessions: August 17 - 31, 2017

Ho lordt. I have A LOT of obsessions to get through for these past two weeks of August! I listened to A LOT of stuff and purged my watch later playlist big time. So let's start out with the MANY honorable mentions.

Now let's see those MANY real obsessions.

1) Season's End - Our Prayers Fall Back to Earth

It's been 12 years since these guys dropped any new material and they released this awesome track. It's so good and haunting. I always love it when music talks of the struggles of the real world, ESPECIALLY when it get political. It opens your mind to what is really going on outside.

2) A Sound of Thunder - Who Do You Think We Are?

These guys are amazing. This track is low key a diss track to people always trying to define metal bands and put them in small boxes. A metal band is still a metal band no matter what subgenre they fall under. I love their campy songs like this one. They're always so fun.

3) Serpent & Seraph - Tears of Naviane

I discovered these guys through a compilation video on YT one day and fell in love. There's something about this track that is so hypnotic and amazing. It goes from being extremely aggressive to being extremely beautiful rapidly and the transition practically non-existent, but that's what I love about it.

4) Garbage - No Horses

This is the second song I've heard from these guys and it is completely different from Magnetized. It has a bit of a 90's industrial kind of vibe to it and I love it. Another song that is charged by the evils of the world around us. More specifically: police brutality.

5) Micky Huijsmans - New Horizons (Textures cover)

This is one of my favorites off Phenotype, and Micky put such an epic spin on it with this cover. I never expected her to do growls and I hope she brings them to a future End of the Dream album. It really shows multiple dimensions to her voice that EotD doesn't show and is amazing.

6) Synkvervet - Aurora

Another song I discovered from a compilation video on YT, this is a blackened symphonic metal band. This song is so beautiful and lovely. The contrast between their female singer and their male vocalist are so epic. Also, their female singer looks STUNNING in this video. Definitely am gonna check out more from these guys.

7) Little Dead Bertha - Cry of Mankind (My Dying Bride cover)

This was a random discovery on the recommended videos on YT and I need to hear more from them. It has a blackened doom metal vibe to it and their female singer's voice is so lovely. Not only do I need to check out more from these guys, but I need to finally listen to My Dying Bride. I still haven't listened to them yet!

8) Cradle of Filth - You Will Know the Lion By His Claw

This is their best single they've released for their upcoming album and probably one of the best songs they've released in the past 10 years. It's like an evolved form of classic CoF and I fucking love it. The last two minutes are absolutely INSANE. Dani's low growl is everything. So hyped for the new album!

9) The Great Discord - Omen

Everything these guys have released in line with their new album has been amazing. This song is pretty and so cool. They've really stepped their game up with this album. Not saying that Duende wasn't a good album, it was amazing, but they're definitely putting their names out there with this one and I can't wait to see what amazing opportunities come their way from it.

10) Russkaja - Alive

Really weird, bizarre, amazing, glorious, cheesy ska fused with punk and rock. I've heard a few songs from them, but haven't really gotten that deep into their works. I really need to change that. I love bands that don't take themselves seriously. Also, that EDM breakdown was extremely unexpected and dope af.

11) Aly & AJ - Take Me

This is their first song (under their names) in 10 YEARS and it's wonderful. When I found out that they dropped a new single, I nearly screamed. These girls were my childhood. I'm so hyped for the upcoming album and to see what direction it's gonna go in, because this is a blend of indie rock and 80's styled synthpop and I love it.

12) Corvyx - I Got You (Bebe Rexha cover)

I never heard the original, but I am OBSESSED with this guy's cover of this song. I've been a big of this guy for a minute now and I think this one is on the same level of favorites as his cover as I Don't Wanna Live Forever. His voice is so lovely in this song and I love the slight distortion. This song is such a fun one to just blast while driving.

13) Kari Rueslatten - Spellbound

This song is so pretty. It's such a simple song, but it's so pretty that you get hooked on it instantly. Such a great song to put on and just chill to. I can't wait to get around to listening to her new album.

14) Tristania - Aphelion

I've been on a big Tristania kick lately and this has been one of the songs I've been obsessed with by them. I really need to listen to their full discography again, because I'm not familiar with Morten's era with them. This song is just so beautiful and intense. The last two minutes are probably my favorite. It just escalates so quickly and ends on such a beautiful note.

Crushed Dreams

After getting a copy of World of Glass, when this song came on, I knew I would be listening to it non-stop for a hot minute. The intro, the choirs and the exit are so amazing and beautiful. This is definitely my favorite album from Vibeke's era with the band. It's so beautiful, raw, haunting and in your face.

15) Qveen Herby - Busta Rhymes

Amy is definitely reinventing herself with this new project. Karmin dabbled with hip hop a little bit, but this project is pure trip hop/hip hop and I'm loving it. And homegirl goes IN on the second verse. I really need to listen to their debut EP.

16) The Naked and Famous - All of This

I can't remember how I came across this song, but nonetheless, I love it. It wasn't all that interesting to me at first, but then it grew on me and became an obsession. It's such a simple pop rock track, but it's so fun and catchy and has a bit of a punk-ish flare to it. Really digging it and am gonna check out more from them.

17) Crimfall - Until Falls the Rain

I discovered these guys through Helena (I'm a big fan of her old project Tacere), but have only listened to Wildfire Season. This song is so powerful and beautiful. I know how cheesy this sounds, but this song is amazing to listen to when it's raining/storming outside. Such a perfect blend of symphonic and folk metal. Can't wait to hear their new album.

18) End of the Dream - Who Do You Think You Are

Finally listened to their new album, Until You Break, and I really enjoyed it. This and the track below are ones that definitely stood out to me on the album. This song has such a hard and raw proggy vibe to it and is so in your face. I also love the vocal lines in the chorus.

I Am Nothing

This song is so beautiful. It starts out so simple and pretty, but then it starts to escalate and it gets so powerful and raw near the end. I haven't heard a song like this one in a very long time and am so pleased with it. It really shows off just how much this band has grown since their first release.

19) Exit Eden - Rhapsodies in Black

I couldn't pick a particular song that I was obsessing with from them, so I just put the whole damn album on here! This album is absolutely AMAZING and I listened to it non-stop for little over a week. My two favorites are their covers of Paparazzi by Lady Gaga and Frozen by Madonna which features Simone Simons of Epica. Paparazzi is so unexpectedly heavy and intense and Frozen is just as beautiful as the original, but with a symphonic metal flare to it and I love that they kept the original vibe of the song with this cover.
