Estus Flask (Dark Souls) Recipe - Gamer Cooking Reciplore

So you’re carrying around this flask of glowing liquid to swig whenever you get a Dragonslayer Arrow through your noggin. Therefore, to recreate Estus, I began thinking of protein shakes.

Other people tend to go in the alcoholic direction, possibly as a homage to the whole ‘fire’ sensation. But I think of real-life Estus as a ‘medicine’ rather than a drought of liquid courage.

If curing the Darksign was antibiotics, Estus would be Muscle Milk’s Non-Dairy Everyday Protein formula. You can imagine a magical version of a protein shake to instantly heal your sore muscles after a workout, complete with a firey kindling animation.

afterimage has the worst healing and i have to rant about it

ok maybe it's not actually the worst, there are probably games out there with worse systems. but it's certainly the worst among the games i've played.

you have multiple ways of healing, you have the limited refills-at-a-save-spot kind of thing, you have consumables, there's weapons and equipment that let you recover some health over time or per kill.

and i swear this is the worst version of the estus flask system. over 40 hours in, my healthbar takes up like 60% of the length of the screen and i have 8 heals. but jokes on me because one heal takes a long time and refills less than a third of my health. do you know how fucking bad that is when getting hit once can take half my health or more. not to mention that bosses have a ton of aoe or homing attacks or just a lot of attacks that cause a lot of things to happen on screen and not getting hit is extremely hard, especially when you dislike the bosses and don't have the patience to 'learn the patterns'.

there are ways to increase the healing efficiency by equipping certain weapons or items but the difference is barely noticeable when my healthbar is so hecking large. i'd rather have 3 heals that do their job properly tbh.

then there's the consumables. there's three types, a normal one which is probably worthless at this point. there's the 'refined' ones which you can buy and you can have 4 on hand at once - they refill like less than half of my health at this point? then there's the third type which refills most of your health, you can have 3 at a time but you can't buy them. using consumables is way faster but since i only have 4 at a time i try not to use them unless really necessary. i have nothing else to spend my currency on so that's fine but this, too is so fucking bad. it's like they tried to have the best of both worlds but failed at both somehow.

and it makes bosses extremely annoying because this game has a lot of them and like i said, i do not like the majority of them. maybe id like them a little more if the healing wasn't so fucking stupid but fuuuuuuuck. there was even a spell thingy that let me convert mana into health and it was the best thing ever - but now it 'broke' and its unusable because the game hates me.
