I am holding this art of Ingo needing reading glasses in Hisui oh so gently in my cupped hands, it makes my heart so soft.

Because like I can just imagine that with Ingo and Emmet, after Emmet Falls and they reunite in Hisui. Ingo already needs reading glasses by then, so any time he needs to read small print, he passes it off to Emmet (before he realizes just how bad his sight has gotten though, Ingo will sit there squinting at something very hard...then hold it out at arm's length, then squint at it again, until Emmet's finally just like "Ingo-niisan oh my god just give it here" ksozjsksk).

As is often the case with these two, though, Emmet is eventually also farsighted, to the point that he and Ingo match. So Ingo will try to read something, pass it off with an "Emmet, my dear, could you read this to me," Emmet will try to read it, and then pass it off with a "Hey, Akari, what does this say." XD

Sometimes when Ingo asks Emmet to read something for him, instead of just taking the paper from Ingo like a normal fucking person, Emmet will come up behind him and hook his chin on Ingo's shoulder, with his arms wrapped around his waist, and then tell him to hold it closer or further away. No one in the nearby vicinity wants to be there anymore.

"Closer. ...No, further. ...Closer, actually. No no, like really close! ...Hmm, too close."

How Does it work? Like is it just, Holly write Childe in a bunny suit, Holly what would Childe be in a- why didn’t I pick bunny suit? (Man ok ya that would be something else to deal with copy and pasted)

ugh it’s a little frustrating but nothing we’ve never seen before, so it’s not all that but let me explain

basically, i received an ask a while back when i was still “active” on my nsfw blog and it was rather demanding in tone (for lack of a better word), more or less consisting of “i need [these 8 characters (separately)] with [this scenario] pls pls pls”

call me petty but for several reasons it ticked me off; 1) i think the tone is not it, as i said it feels kinda demanding and i don’t feel respected as a human (goes back to the whole “i’m not a writing bot but a person with feelings” argument), there’s no acknowledgment of past writing or so much as a hello

2) 8 characters in separate scenarios is a lot to ask for, especially considering the length in which i usually write a character’s scenario for, some people might be able to crank that out but i’m not; i know in my first post on there i had like 6 or 7 characters but that was of my own volition bc i was inspired, which makes a big difference

3) i don’t take requests

so yeah, the ask itself wasn’t received very well by me in the first place and i just sent to a group of writer friends basically going ‘is it petty of me to have negative feelings about this or am i misreading the tone here’

and we all just kinda came to the conclusion that it is the kind of request/ask someone would copy and paste into several writers’ inboxes, whether that’s because they just want their scenario written out or whatever, i don’t really understand the motivation behind it

and it seems we were correct because i happened to be scrolling through the tags for that fandom and saw the exact same ask, word for word, from roughly the same time period too; the writer seemed to have been happy about receiving it and wrote a paragraph each and it seems to have been well received, so i’m not here to take that away from them in any way

it just personally rubs me the wrong way but, at the end of the day, those are just my feelings on the matter

anyway, take away: be nice and appreciate your writers when they go out of their way to grant your request; be nice to them in general hehe ^^

actually, there's added context to the fic i posted earlier that's lost because it's from my pov and not his and it's that of course he sleeps better in my bed. of course he does. part of it is because i'm there, yeah, but there's something a lot deeper to it — something i don't think he'd want to bring up all that often, and especially not right then — that ultimately boils down to there being no memories attached to my bed.

or, rather, there are, but they're actually good ones — ones that he likes remembering; ones that he never wants to forget; ones that actually make him happy. and all the ones attached to his own — if he can even remember them at all — leave a sour taste in his mouth at best and make him feel sick at worst. but when he's with me, all of that seems to disappear, and it's suddenly so much easier to fall asleep and now the thought of staying in bed in the morning is a temptation he regularly gives into rather than it being something that would previously fill him with dread.

now, it's something he looks forward to — if not for that, then because wrapped up in my blankets with me held in between his arms is one of his favorite places to be. 🩵

honestly, life can be pretty shitty but the only way to go after hitting the bottom is up! and it takes some people longer than others, everyone's different & progress isn't measured in the same way. I wouldn't measure it by time because it could be discouraging bc sometimes our mind likes to compare where we can be/could've been. As long as we're trying our best right? And on top of that, there are people who are there for you and would be sad if something did happen. You may not know it and they may not be your closest friends- they can be coworkers, mutuals, acquaintances on top of your actual family and friends. It can feel lonely but I assure you if you reach out to someone, there will be someone to lend an ear. Sometimes it just feels better to vent to someone or even journal your thoughts down, it takes some weight off your shoulders.

I hope this doesn't sound too cliché for advice but I hope it finds you well ♡
