bucky barns and breeding kink i want his children so bad😭😭
I know, hun!
I actually have some stories featuring our boy Bucky and breeding kink: in Memory he's actually a vampire with breeding kink (I know, it's weird!), in Is She With You? I made him an actor for those who don't like to read Sebastian RPF and in Let Your Tears Fall he's your ex and he does not like that (careful, it's noncon!).
Is there any other scenario you'd like me to write featuring Bucky and a breeding kink?
I also took the liberty of finding some fics that I love that feature those two: my friend @navybrat817 has one called You Asked For It and @buckylattes wrote an incredibly hot story called Next Door Neighbour. I definitely recommend that you check those out!
Anyone else who might have written or read a story about Bucky and a breeding kink could possibly reblog this with a link? I'd love to compile a list and add some to my reading list so that I can reblog later!

The BBC lady blowing my mind by pointing out the parallels between the endings of North and South and Jane Eyre (man brought low after losing his fortune, woman has gained wealth and comes to his rescue so they're now on equal footing).
She also pointed out that North and South is a continuation of issues Bronte explored in Shirley (to the point that Helstone is named after a character there), so I guess I may have to read that book one day.

When your best friend asks if they should read your favorite book and you have the craziest mixed feelings of “yes absolutely it’s a masterpiece and everyone needs to know” but also “noooooo you won’t understand it the way I do it’s absolutely just for me” and also “if you don’t like this piece of literature there’s no way we can remain friends.”

yeah working in a rural second hand bookshop during winter is cool. i listen to hozier and searows on my lunch break and drink tea all day. it’s great. sometimes my grandma comes in just to talk to me at the front desk. i can do homework if it’s empty and there’s nothing to do. sure my back hurts but does your work have 80,000 books available to read at any time? i don’t think so

it truly is isolating when i have no one to share my jane eyre/wuthering heights brainrot in person. please… anyone near me… let’s casually talk about the symbolism of dogs in WH or the major omen in JE at the campus cafeteria

one thing i really wish they included in jane eyre (2011) is the second wedding. they stopped right at the reunion, which leaves a lot to be desired, especially if you don’t know what comes next! the second wedding is my favorite piece of all the symbolism, because as opposed to the first in which mr rochester is anxious and rushing to get it done and jane is entirely confused and there’s just so much happening and so much going wrong, they are entirely content in the second wedding. they take their time, and do not even have any sort of formal take on a wedding, just going to a church only the two of them in their every day clothes, with nobody else to see them be wed. they are content and at peace, but that truly isn’t an understatement. jane holds her ground in the majority of the book past the reunion and it’s beautiful to see them truly meet each other’s needs and, in a sense, really look each other in the eye.

Alex Claremont-Diaz to Henry Fox in Red, White & Royal Blue movie:
"It's like there's a rope attached to my chest, and it keeps pulling me towards you."
Rochester to Jane Eyre:
"I have a strange feeling with regard to you. As if I had a string somewhere under my left ribs, tightly knotted to a similar string in you. And if you were to leave I'm afraid that cord of communion would snap. And I have a notion that I'd take to bleeding inwardly."

books read this week & mini reviews
jane eyre by charlotte brönte 🗝️
will always stand by the point that this is not a love story!! absolutely adore this book. i love the opposing dynamics between all the characters. took me a few chapters to get into it but by halfway i was hooked. - 4.25 stars
wide sargasso sea by jean rhys 🌊
a really interesting take on jane eyre, telling the story of mr rochester’s first wife, antoinette. i love the way it delves into how antoinette goes from being the young girl living in jamaica at the beginning of the novel to the “madwoman in the attic” depicted in jane eyre. - 4.5 stars
paradise lost by john milton 🔥
an epic poem depicting the battle between satan and god for control over humankind. i struggled with reading this form, but once i got used to the way it was written, i was hooked. i love the portrayal of satan, and admire what milton set out to do with this telling of a biblical story. - 3.75 stars
the diary of adam and eve by mark twain 🍎
a short story retelling of adam and eve in the garden of eden & the fall. i understand the intention with this but feel as if it was executed poorly. adam’s perspective was infuriatingly misogynistic and i almost dnf-ed on page 3 because of it. eve’s perspective was fortunately more bearable. - 2 stars
the yacoubian building by alaa al aswany 🚪
originally written in arabic & translated by humphrey davies, the yacoubian building is an allegory for egyptian society. such a good book and i particularly loved the focus on the female experience. my one complaint is the lack of chapters, the entire novel was split into only two chapters, the queer representation is also somewhat problematic. - 4 stars
