Hi. I'm alive and I'm gonna forego updating my artblog and just post this bc it took. too long, and I'm done having the "my artblog needs to have everything on it chronologically" mindset on here

I've fallen face first back into my mcyt/life series/hc obsession, and specifically my helsmits. The title of this file is "drawing other people's hels as a warmup"...... .....needless to say that warmup escalated and I've been drawing on these for like two or three days-

~~~ 1. The two in the bottom left are my own fallsmits (= helsmits with extra steps, lol) for Bdubs and Tango, Sleepless and SwingTek the beloveds- Swing has an inbetween of his natural and his "I'm totally TangoTek guys" hair colors in this doodle, because I said so.

2. Top left is a Hels!Stress named AnxiousBeast, who belongs to @square-milk. the possum thing is so creative, and I love her grian-esque unhinged vibes, so I just had to draw her 3. Top right is a Hels!Grian concept by @daffodily that I had my eye on when I first got into helsmits a year or two ago, but I don't think I ever ended up drawing him. No name given, as far as I could tell. Super dark with the stitches and everything but I love it. Totally different vibes but he does remind me a tiny bit of my falls!grian, Gregory, and I'm all for that - it's probably mostly the sweater color though jhdfkjgh but still

4. Bottom right is Foxtrot, a Hels!Tango with a very cool name, posted by @neoflames. I love the ice+siren powers this one has, plus the hair is very cool (no pun intended)

5. Central to this doodle page is Iota, a Hels!Grian design I saw and immediately became obsessed with. what the hels. who comes up with this stuff. (the answer is @rhapsoddity. rhapsoddity comes up with this stuff.)

6. And last but most certainly not least! At the center of the top is a figure that people on my art blog will have seen before, and that anyone who's browsed the helsmit tags will recognize - the beloved Limbo Lag by @galaxygermdraws. what a guy. what a little guy. he needs a hug someone hug him NOW this is an order. I'm sure my boy Swing would be glad to hear he's not the only blue tango counterpart giving off sad little guy energy

Autumn Headcanons

Bdubs x reader

Decorating for the season is done all year round with Bdubs

He makes most of the decor himself. Or he did until you came along

The two of you grow your own pumpkins, harvesting them is the biggest task of the season

He hand selects which will go home and which will be sold Although you find a way to sneak some in that you like He finds this cute

As the leaves change colour and start to fall, Bdubs makes a wreath for the front door

You help him choose the leaves

He even taught you how to preserve them so their colours wouldn't change

With this knowledge the two of you make Bdubs a new jacket since the moss one isn't great for camouflage against the reds and oranges of the leaves You might also happen to have a matching jacket

Once the wreath is up and the pumpkins decorating the property you're done... Not!

Bdubs instead hands you the lead

Foraging for berries, mushrooms and other tasty things is where you come in, you and your handy book of all the plants that are edible

You and Bdubs make for not only yourselves, but for the Hermits Harvest Festival

You make all manner of treats, sweet and savoury

Bdubs is very good at designing the tops of pies

He's not great at making them though Let's just say a few have been burnt, or whatever comes after burnt

Bdubs' decorating skills are used at his booth, he even uses some of the other foraged foods for decor

All the things you've made together are up for sale, and are always a big hit with the hermits

Any leftover berries are always fed to the birds

You both make price tags out of leaf cutouts! They're super cute and 100% recyclable

Whatever Bdubs and you make you try and do it with as little waste as possible

As the days get shorter and nights creep in faster you keep Bdubs awake

You watch sunsets with him from an established safe place of course

Bdubs promises to protect you from the monsters

You both know who will be doing the protecting

Beacon AU: the beginning

The beacons have failed.

It was the news on everyone’s lips. The beacons have failed. The gentle light they once cast across the sky, only barely perceptible at night, had gone away. It had been strange - to go into the night and instinctively know that something is wrong, but not being quite sure what could be the case. That is, until the first undead shambled out of the forests and targeted everyone in sight.

Wels, at the end of his stay at his home village while recovering from a serious injury that left his left arm wounded, held back the mob of undead with the town militia. It was a long and arduous night, but no more than two casualties were made in the night.

It was the beacons, everyone knew - they had failed. Wels told the people to remain as calm as possible, asked for the militia to always be on guard and for everyone to stay inside their homes, as those undead who did not find the main group of protectors neither seemed intelligent enough to target the doors nor tried to bust into homes to go after people. Once all these preparations had been made, Wels returned to the capital city.

He hadn’t been back since his injury; his duty as the commander of the king’s guard passed down to Etho until Wels had made a full recovery. He still couldn’t quite remember what happened that day; he just knew that he agreed to be part of some official mission for the crown. During this mission, he narrowly escaped death (according to Bdubs) and Cub, the king’s chief arcanist, vanished without a trace. Cub’s responsibilities have been handed to his apprentice, Xisuma, to navigate the landscape of strange magics that King Ren knew so little about.

He was supposed to spend another week at home to recover. Yet, when the knight returned to King Ren’s court, he formally requested that he be sent to relight the beacons. The king was hesitant, but granted him his leave. Before Wels left for his mission, he spoke with Etho about his responsibilities being extended. Bdubs came to visit as well, for an extended conversation about the beacons and all the information he had already found on the subject, giving all of it to Wels as “light reading” for the road. Wels thanked him for the research - which said nothing that he didn’t already know, though he did learn the locations of each of the beacons.

Armed with the knowledge, Welsknight set out on the road to relight the beacons.

why does nobody ever talk about the beginning of etho's LL episode 7 where he asks bdubs for a moment just to be all "can i just say how glad i am that you were my partner?". it literally might be my all time favorite ethubs interaction because you can hear etho suppressing his giggles so that he can have this single second of sincerity. etho LOVES a bit so show me any other clip where etho makes an attempt to be this sincere. u can't!!!
