Whilst agreeing with the statement above, I suggest that we still hold a form of inner relationship with family members, whether we like it or not. In my experience it is helpful to work on those uncomfortable relationships, because the negativity or abuse that came from them towards us will have been internalised during the years we had endure it. Until we have made peace with them within us, we…

If anyone has a problem with saying "rest in power" to the white man that self-immolated himself and yelled "Free Palestine" till he burned to death then I want you to block me right the fuck now. You are so morally bankrupt and brainwashed by western neoliberal identity politics that you aren't worth spitting on. There's nobody resting in more power than that kid.

Greetings!
I was wondering about your thoughts on Bernard Dowd for the Owl Court Family AU, you said the Drakes were new money and that’s why they’re (in part) not a part of the Court.
Based off what we’ve seen of seen of Bernard’s parents in Tim Drake: Robin we know that 1) they have money (but not if it’s new or old money) and 2) that they’re up to something SHADY.
Would you imagine them as part of the Court? Part of some other organization/cult?
Do Tim and Bernard get together in this AU, and does that cause any drama because of Bernard’s shady parents?
How do the others react to them getting together if they do?
——
I personally can imagine Bernard’s parents, if they know about the Court, but aren’t a part of it, after finding out about Bernard’s crush on Tim, trying to get him to “snap out of it” (His mom did call Tim Bernard’s “friend” in Tim Drake: Robin #7) and then when that didn’t work think well, if he’s into Tim Drake, might as well make the most of it and try to manipulate the situation
Which, if that’s the case, poor Barnard because things would definitely not go well for the Dowd’s if Cobb found out about that 👀
——
(Sorry for the many questions/mini rant lol, I think your AU is really neat and I’m rather curious about how Bernard might be incorporated if he is)
Thank you for reading my rambles! ^.^
Hi! 💚
So I can totally see the Dowds being part of the Court, but also… I can see them keeping their… “extracurriculars”… a secret from their son (for whatever reason).
Bernard is the ultimate fanboy of anything vigilante/conspiracy related, and with the absence of actually vigilantes in Gotham I think he’d fixate on rumors of shady cults. Like the Court of Owls (something his parents are none too happy about).
Of course, there’s also Robin/Nightwing beating up criminals eventually, always accompanied by something darker, something scarier, that keeps the Boy Wonder safe. Bernard only gets far enough in his investigations to hear about “the Gray Son of Gotham” before he hits a dead end though, so everything beyond that is mostly speculation.
I think Bernard and Tim would meet in school during the time neither of them have anything to do with the Court. Maybe they’re friends, or perhaps just acquaintances. Either way, Tim ends up falling head first into the world of the Court (thanks to Jason’s near death) and as a consequence he would probably cut back on interacting with his civilian friends a lot. At first out of fear that Cobb will make true on his threat to kill everyone Tim loves, and later because… well, the damage of distance is done.
But they’d meet again a little later, hit it off (Tim just can’t help finding all those wild conspiracy theories absolutely adorable. Shut up, Bruce, I remember you staring at Will all night last night because the guys smiled), and I’d like to say the rest is history but… it’s not.
When Bernard works up the nerve to tell his parents about Tim Drake being his boyfriend… they appear curiously delighted. Ecstatic, even. Encouraging meetings and dates and inquiring one too many times if everything is going alright between them. (Never asking if Bernard is treated well, never asking if he is happy, only Drake, Drake, Drake…)
And naturally, the Dowds go too far. Demand too much. And Cobb becomes suspicious of their motives, uncovers a whole lot of dirt on the Dowds, and… well, the Court of Owls does not tolerate traitors. One foul egg spoils the whole batch. Court protocol is to exterminate the entire immediate family.
Including Bernard…

my hot take (not in a condescending way) is that lindsey's obsession with darla is not "actually" about angel, by which i mean that his obsession with angel is ALSO not actually about angel. i think both represent ways of coping with an inferiority complex that requires impossible figures -- an unattainable object, an insurmountable obstacle -- that externalize interior feelings of shame and inferiority, the point being that he CAN'T ever beat angel or "get" darla.
that being said, i DO think lindsey has a weird psychosexual obsession with angel. i DO think he would benefit from a healthy bdsm relationship, but i DON'T think it should be with angel, not because angel couldn't do it but because he shouldn't, because angel does actually look down on him for real. i mean i DO think lindsey would get off on that. not because he should. but he would.
mostly the only situation i see angel fucking lindsey is if he was REALLY down in the dumps about something and felt isolated from the rest of his support system, a la buffy s6. at which point the relationship would be about proving to each other that angel's not AS evil as lindsey but also that, by "using" him, angel has ~evil~ within him too. eventually lindsey would pick up on the fact that angel was doing this out of self-loathing and engage in psychosexual warfare where he realizes he can't "beat" angel by overpowering him, but he can humiliate him for fucking him. like i think the worst thing lindsey could say to angel would be the acknowledgment that he can't ever surpass him, because angel is just that much more evil than lindsey could ever hope to be. the levels of self-destructive hatesex would be off the charts, and actually, when i put it that way,

Randomly remembered how Lawrence was a real one for knocking Qwark out in UYA to help his boss out lmao
Tumblr media
Seriously
This was one of those rare moments I realized someone seemed to genuinely be on Nefarious’ side. Everyone else could be flakey, but Lawrence was the only one who stepped in to save Nef when he needed help and I just think about it a lot ok
Also do not mess with the butler or else he’ll knock your ass out fr. I love that he’s lowkey a threat too but he just doesn’t care enough to act on anything

time for nightshade clips
[VD: Transformers Earthspark clip of the Malto's (The human father, 2 human kids and two bot kids), Bumblebee and Optimus meeting the three new terran transformers (each unique in size and shape, but still in their protoforms, which have more nondescript soft shaped details, in white, metal grey, and glowing blue).
full transcribe below
The Malto's emerging from a collasped cave. Bee walks over them, kneeling, reaching out: Oh thank Primus your alright.
Mo Malto (the human daughter), clinging to her Dad's (Alex) side: Mr. Optimus, we... we lost the emberstone.
Optimus makes a sorrowful expression, Bee nods in understanding. They both gasp as the three new terrans pop out from under the cave's rubble.
Optimus, joyful: But look at all you've gained!
Bee: More terrans!
Optimus goes on one knee to be at better height to greet them: Welcome, young ones. I am Optimus Prime. It warms my spark to meet you. What are you're names?
The terrans all look at each other and shrug.
Robby Malto (the human son) looks to the flashing cyber sleeve on his hand: She's... Hashtag!
The largest of the terrans crouches in front of him, excitedly. She has a visor: [Gasp] You're right! Oh, I didn't have a word for my name, just a feeling!
The shortest and chunkiest of the terrans gestures nervously with his hands: Well, what am I called?
Mo, gasping, walking forward: His name is Jawbreaker! (She takes on of his fingers in both her hands) My favourite candy!
Jawbreaker, softly squelling: Really?!
The remaining terran, tall and narrow, bows theactrically: And I am Nightshade! It is a delight and a surprise to mean you all!
Alex, solemnly: Not all of us, [picking up a name tag reading "Malto"] Mandroid still has Dottie.
All four of his children come in to hug him. Jawbreaker, looks around, upset and clutches his head: [Noise of upset] How do we make the bad feelings go away?
Roddy: We have to save Mom and Megatron.
Twitch Malto (bot daughter), shaking her head: Mandroid is no joke. We barely escaped last time we met him, (nervous gesture, upset tone) and only because... Mom saved us.
Nightshade steps forward: We don't know this "Mom"... [Places a hand to their chest] but we feel your love for her burning through our hearts.
Hashtag, steps forward and points to her chest with a thumb: We want to help!
Jawbreaker, stepping forward, timid: If you'll let us?
All the Malto's smile, touched. Mo runs forward and jumps into Jawbreaker's hands. He catches her and brings her up to hug.
Mo, resting her cheek and hand on his chest plate, looking up: Thank you.

The Brothers Karamazov: A Masterpiece of Moral Inquiry and Psychological Depth
Tumblr media
Fyodor Dostoevsky's "The Brothers Karamazov" stands as one of the most profound and influential works in the canon of world literature. Published in 1880, this epic novel delves into the complexities of human nature, morality, faith, and existential angst, weaving together a rich tapestry of philosophical inquiry and psychological insight.
At the heart of "The Brothers Karamazov" are the three titular brothers: Dmitri, Ivan, and Alyosha, each representing different facets of the human psyche and grappling with their own existential dilemmas. Dmitri, the passionate and impulsive eldest brother, struggles with his desires and impulses, torn between his love for two women and his sense of honor. Ivan, the intellectual and skeptical middle brother, grapples with the problem of evil and the existence of God in a world filled with suffering. Alyosha, the youngest and most devout brother, seeks spiritual redemption and strives to embody the teachings of his mentor, the elder Zosima.
Through the interconnected stories of the Karamazov family and the residents of their provincial Russian town, Dostoevsky explores a wide range of philosophical and ethical questions, from the nature of morality and free will to the existence of God and the meaning of life. Drawing on his own experiences of poverty, suffering, and spiritual crisis, Dostoevsky imbues his characters with a depth and authenticity that resonate with readers on a profound emotional and intellectual level.
One of the most compelling aspects of "The Brothers Karamazov" is Dostoevsky's exploration of the human condition and the existential struggles that define the human experience. Through the trials and tribulations of the Karamazov brothers, Dostoevsky grapples with the fundamental questions of human existence: What is the nature of good and evil? Is there a higher purpose or meaning to life? How do we reconcile the existence of suffering and injustice with our belief in a just and compassionate God?
Moreover, "The Brothers Karamazov" is celebrated for its richly drawn characters, vividly depicted landscapes, and masterful storytelling. Dostoevsky's prose is by turns lyrical, philosophical, and profoundly moving, capturing the complexities of human emotion and the inner struggles of his characters with a rare depth and insight. From the dark and brooding Dmitri to the idealistic and compassionate Alyosha, each character is rendered with such psychological nuance and complexity that they feel like living, breathing individuals, grappling with their own hopes, fears, and desires.
In conclusion, "The Brothers Karamazov" by Fyodor Dostoevsky is a towering achievement of world literature that continues to captivate readers with its profound insights, moral complexity, and psychological depth. Through its exploration of timeless themes and universal truths, "The Brothers Karamazov" speaks to the enduring mysteries of the human condition and the eternal quest for meaning, redemption, and spiritual fulfillment. With its richly drawn characters, intricate plot, and philosophical depth, "The Brothers Karamazov" remains a timeless masterpiece that rewards readers with new insights and revelations with each reading.
Fyodor Dostoevsky's "The Brothers Karamazov" is available in Amazon in paperback 24.99$ and hardcover 30.99$ editions.

Have a ship between a friend and I (she owns the bad lad assassin on the right): Isabella and Crux. I like to call this pic “Intertwined,” hehe. They’re endgame but just don’t know it yet >B)

The sentence “Mark Johnson and T’Pel are here again, sir” becomes every Starfleet admiral’s worst nightmare.
#he and kathryn aren't officially married but Mark calls her his wife playfully anyway#I am firmly on team 'Mark Johnson is a good person and he and Janeway love each other very much' bc it makes the tragedy 10fold#I think after they receive word about Voyager not being destroyed or otherwise lost forever Mark suffers from an extremely guilty conscience#if he'd just been able to believe a little more...hold out a little longer...#Mark: You know near the end I thought you were a little crazy. Still holding out hope. I didn't know how you did it - I still don't.#When they tell you to 'stay strong' they don't tell you how much it hurts. (sad chuckle) but I guess I'm a bit of a coward. I gave her up#for dead. I should have known better. Of course she wouldn't go out that easy.#T'Pel tells him that just because he moved on doesn't mean he's a coward - in fact it takes a certain kind of bravery to do that as well.#Most of the people around her certainly urged her to do the same. She just...couldn't. As long as there was a chance - she couldn't.#She supposes that's also a form of cowardice.#Mark laughs. 'It all depends on how you look at it huh? mm...look at us. Two old fools~' (silence between them as they look up at the sky)#T'Pel and Greskrendtregk are among the very few who didn't give up their lovers for dead#and I don't think he's a grumpy person at all - if anything I'd characterize him as more energetic and a bit frustrated by how#serene Mark and T'Pel are hehe#also in my head Elieth and Varith believe that Tuvok could be alive while Asil and Sek think he's dead and are frustrated by the others#Elieth believes more fervently than Varith does (Varith is more in the middle saying neither possibility has been proven)#it causes a bit of family drama#also by 'started a family' Mark means getting married while T'Pel thinks he means had a baby#God...his name really is 'Mark Johnson' huh. Bathroom sign of a name. The most avergae man in the world. Love ya guy.#Mark - T'Pel - Greskrendtregk <- star trek name spectrum#doodle page#bea art tag#st voyager mark#st voyager mark johnson#t'pel#t'pel art#greskrendtregk
