Silm AU with the Feanorian death order reversed
I apologize in advance, but:
Maglor regrets the Oath and kinslaying on the voyage over. He stays aboard the ships, meaning to stow away back, but falls asleep (it's been a long day) and wakes up on fire. His brothers and father become aware of the situation when they hear the screams. Maglor's cries become a permanent echo in that area, much like Morgoth's at Lammoth.
Maedhros does not have the clearest head in the ensuing battle. He gets separated from the others and is beaten into the dust by balrogs. His family isn't even able to retrieve a body.
Feanor is very shaken and very mad. He doesn't parlay with Morgoth, not even for the Silmarils. He and his remaining people spread out across Beleriand and establish fortresses.
Things are chilly at best when the Helcaraxe group arrives thirty years later. Feanor does not yield the crown. The two groups don't fight, because Morgoth's a bigger problem, but they're not working together. Partially because Fingon refuses to speak to the Feanorians after he hears what happened to Maedhros, and Finrod won't even be near them after what they did to Maglor.
Feanor is very careful with his remaining sons.
Time goes on, the Bragollach occurs on schedule, and so does the Silmaril quest, except that C&C aren't in Nargothrond because of the Finrod-hating-them thing, so Celegorm never meets Luthien. She doesn't get Huan, but still manages just fine.
We do still eventually get to the point of "Silmaril at Doriath" + "no Girdle" + "stubborn Dior" = Second Kinslaying. But this time Celegorm's not grudge-fueled and Curufin's not having to cover for Huan and watch his back, and... Amrod and Amras die instead.
Elwing escapes to the Havens. Elured and Elurin aren't left to die, but Feanor has no interest in keeping around Sindar reminders of his dead sons. He has them sent away. (They don't know where Elwing and the Silmaril are, so ransom isn't an option.)
Then they do learn where the Silmaril is, at Sirion. They attack. Caranthir dies.
Curufin has been doing increasingly badly since Celebrimbor forswore him right before Doriath. Celegorm decides the solution is to pick up Elwing's twin sons and get Curufin to help parent them.
Feanor isn't thrilled, but he can't say no when he sees how Curufin latches on.
Love grows after between them, as little might be thought.
War of Wrath happens. Feanor keeps his tattered family out of it, but contributes weapon designs via courier. The Host uses said designs, because even if he's problematic they need this stuff.
Afterward, the claiming and theft of the Silmarils proceeds. Curufin sends the twins to Celebrimbor to preempt another rejection.
He's hollow, disillusioned, attacking the camp. The guards don't have to work very hard to kill him.
Feanor and Celegorm escape. The Silmarils burn them. Celegorm starts laughing and laughing and can't stop, and backs away...right into a chasm of fire.
Feanor flings the Silmarils after him, hating the things he chased so long at the cost of his sons, and staggers to the shore as the sea encroaches.
No one knows what happens to him.

Imagine rescuing Finrod with your dragon
Tumblr media
Link for the First headcanon
Requested by Anon
Hi Animator Weirdo! Might I request a one shot/mini fic where Ann (Ancalagon) and reader go and save Finrod and Beren, trash Sauron’s place and maybe even steal a silmaril later on? Thank you! And congratulations on the 500 followers! 🎉🥳
( I only recently realized you wanted a one shot kind of fic. I'm sorry. I ended up making a mixed headcanon/one shot, so I hope you still like it)
Warnings: mentions of Celegorm and Curufin being a pair of bricks, mentions of loneliness, fear, manipulation, imprisonment, burning orcs, and werewolves, saving Finrod, Ann having too much fun wrecking Sauron's place, and a lighthearted ending.
----------------------------------
- If you had known how things would have turned out for Finrod, when he left with Beren to claim a silmaril from Morgoth's crown, you would have tried harder to convince him to take you and Ann with him.
- Ever since he rescued you from the river and allowed your dragon friend to live in Nargothrond despite the differences— you were not willing to lose him to anything, including his oath. He was too important and dear to you for you to lose him to death.
- He first refused your offer to join him when Beren arrived in Nargothrond to seek his aid and when the two sons of Feanor, Celegorm, and Curufin, threatened his people to become unwilling to join him with only a handful of people ready to aid him on this journey.
- He feared for your safety, and despite the advantages your dragon friend could provide him, he wanted you both to remain in Nargothrond, away from the enemy’s hands.
- Your heart swelled for his consideration for your dragon's safety, even if it took months for his people to get accustomed and accept one of Morgoth's creations living among them. However, it only made you more determined to see him return safely, but despite your reasonings and fears, Finrod convinced you to stay.
- He left Nargothrond under Orodreth Care and you with false hopes that things might turn out alright in the end.
- You missed him terribly, and things began to change rapidly when he was no longer governing Nargothrond. The Feanorian princes saw an opportunity to take charge and appeal as more eligible leaders to Finrod's people, trying to overshadow Orodreth. And to your concern, Finrod’s people seem to take on their side each day despite Orodreth's rightful kingship.
- Luckily, some didn't and remained strictly on Orodreth's side. Most being those who still held grudges toward the brothers for something they had done in the past.
- You have never been fond of the brothers. They were arrogant and looked down upon you and Finrod for having a relationship because you were a human. They had even jabbed at you for your past, calling you Morgoth’s thrall, and even tried to make you look like a spy when you ventured to Angband to free Ann and returned on his back to Nargothrond.
- That stunt might have made you look like one, but you have never been one of Morgoth's thralls.
- They always played with people's fears, and perhaps since you had a dragon on your side, most of Finrod's people remained on Orodreth's side. It was not something you hoped for, but it seemed to help preventing the Feanorians from taking full control of Nargothrond and possibly overthrowing Orodreth.
- It was a stressful situation, and you couldn't seek much comfort from anyone except Orodreth and Ann, who had taken a liking to residing in one of Nargothrond's caves and guarding its treasures. He made an excellent treasure guard.
- Despite Ann's size and indifference toward emotional affairs, he knew how to make you feel safe and calmly talked about events that helped you feel better. He even allowed you to rest against his warm scales. It was an old habit whenever you wanted a moment of peace and quiet, even though lying on hoards of gold was not very comfortable.
- When days passed, your anxiety for Finrod's well-being only grew, especially when one of the Feanorians had begun trying to sweet talk to you. You never thought you would find someone's voice so agitating, and you hated acting polite and well-mannered with the Feanorian but knew you would end up in trouble if you didn't.
- Then, the day arrived when the Feanorians brought an elven princess from Doriath.
- There was something suspicious about it because the Feanorians should have brought her to meet with Orodreth as a matter of courtesy. However, when she suddenly seemed to vanish, and no new information was heard about her, you decided to investigate.
- You first tried getting it out from the Feanorians, and they claimed she was just a guest and wasn't available at the moment. She was resting or something.
- You were familiar with their patterns of lying, and then you found out in secret that the princess was, in fact, Luthien, the elven princess Beren has fallen in love with. The Feanorian brothers were keeping her as a prisoner and planned to marry her off to one of them despite the laws and the very nature of the elves. You found that utterly disgusting, and they once claimed humans were the only ones who could do such things.
- You knew how much Thingol hated the Noldor and how possibly a civil war could be born if he found out his only daughter was married against her will, so you decided to act quickly since her appearance also meant something was wrong with Beren and Finrod.
- You convinced Orodreth to assist you in retaining the two while you released Luthien from the room they had locked her in. Orodreth may have been easy to persuade, but his fear of Thingol's wrath outweighed any influence the Feanorians could exert, so he was firmly on your side.
- Luthien was incredibly grateful to you and explained how she saw visions of Beren and Finrod suffering in Sauron's isle of werewolves, where they had been captured and tortured with a ravenous wolf hiding in the shadows.
- Having a valid reason to leave, you allowed Luthien to go first upon Huan as the hound was against his master's treacherous actions and handled the Feanorians first before departing.
- Due to their vicious plan, they quickly fell out of favor with Finrod's and their people. You received Orodreth's assurance that they would be dealt with accordingly, and given the severity of their actions, they will most likely face banishment.
- After all that, you and Ann were good to leave. Finrod needed you more than anything.
- One perk of having a flying dragon is that you can get to places much faster than any horse or dog. You didn't waste time planning Finrod's rescue when you finally reached Tol-in-Gaurhoth, the isle of the werewolves. You did hope you were not too late to save your beloved from the fangs of death.
—-
The orcs and werewolves of Toul-In-Gauroth were unprepared for the attack. They were taken by surprise when a fierce wind swept through like a violent hurricane, tearing their master's banners from their places and drowning out all other sounds with what seemed like thunder.
The orcs in the towers had no time to sound the alarms as they witnessed a shadow descending from the sky, its wings enveloping Tol-In-Gauroth.
Only one managed to cry out and alert the others of the approaching beast. "Attack!" the orc screamed as fire engulfed the tower.
The black dragon unleashed a torrent of flames upon the towers and walls. The wretched orcs and werewolves wailed in agony as the dragon's fiery breath consumed them. Their screams of pain reached the fortress's lord, sounding the alarm.
Ann glided around the fortress as smoke pillars billowed from within its walls and the remnants of crushed towers. He landed gracefully on one of the remaining intact towers, gripping it tightly with his claws. With his immense strength, he began tearing through the stone and steel.
The orcs tried defending their fortress, shooting arrows at the dragon, which only bounced away after hitting his armored scales. Ann swiped his tail against the orcs, swatting them away like flies.
Ann then ignored the screaming of orcs and the howling of the wolves, who ran away from the sight of him and began sniffing the air, trying to find a certain scent. When he found the scent emanating from the lower parts of the fortress, he crushed the walls and the ceilings through his closed fist, allowing you to slip in through his fingers where you had hidden before the attack.
You looked around while Ann pulled his fist away and continued tearing the fortress apart, keeping the attention of Sauron and the defenders upon himself.
After ensuring the coast was clear, you ventured into the dungeon, intending to find and free your beloved and his foolish company.
Finrod, Beren, and the rest of their companions were taken by surprise when the stone walls of their cell began to shake, releasing dust and pebbles from the force. The wolf that had preyed upon them from the shadows had left, and a roar was heard from the outside of the dungeon. Finrod's eyes widened as he recognized the roar.
They then heard the door to their cell open, and Finrod saw you walking in with a set of keys and your axe in your hands.
"(Name)? What are you doing here?!" Finrod demanded in shock as you began opening their chains.
"Rescuing you!" you replied as you hit their shackles and chains open with your axe when the keys failed.
"From now on, you will not tell me to stay behind, especially when you end up captured by the enemy and when I have a bloody dragon who is more than willing to wreck his former master's place to free you," you stated as you helped him and Beren up.
"Come on. We need to leave fast before Sauron notices something," you said as you led him, Beren, and the rest of their company out of the fortress.
Ann ripped the fortress apart, crumbling the stone with his weight and setting fire to the rest of Sauron's werewolves.
A shadow rose from the fallen ruin, standing before the great dragon.
"Ancalagon!" Sauron yelled in fury. "Is this how you betray your masters, you traitor?!" he demanded as the dragon looked down upon him with a golden glare. "You fool!" Ann said in a grumbling voice. "I was never yours to begin with!" his eyes blazed brighter with golden fire.
Ann's chest began to glow. Sauron backed away when Ann opened his jaws and then released a barrage of fire upon the Maia.
Sauron changed forms and narrowly escaped in the form of a vampire. He cursed the dragon as there was nothing he could do to save his fortress and forces and flew toward the north.
You watched as Ann continued wrecking the fortress before turning your attention to Finrod and his company. Luthien had arrived later, riding upon Huan and reuniting with her beloved Beren. Finrod’s companions took the chance to enjoy the light and fresh air after being trapped in Sauron’s dungeon for so long. You began tending to Finrod’s injuries.
“Ann seems to have fun wrecking the fortress,” you stated as you wrapped his injured hands and legs in the bandages you had brought along. “I hope you don’t mind that,” you said, and Finrod dryly chuckled at your sentence.
“No…” he uttered. “At least, he ensures Tol Sirion can never be used by the enemy again. And it kinda of looks better. Sauron had a terrible taste in the design and the interior,” he explained, making you snort. “I guess it does look better,” you commented after you finished wrapping and offered him water.
Finrod grabbed the waterskin from your hands and stared at it with a look on his face before glancing at Beren and his other companions. “Don’t worry. I brought extra,” you showed the other waterskin you had taken with you. “I came in a rush, but I planned ahead what you might need after rescuing you,” you stated. Finrod chuckled. “You always come prepared,” he noted. “Well… after doing a few trips away from Angand and doing a trip there once. You learn a thing or two when it comes to preparing, and trust me– you do not want to taste the water in Morgoth’s lands,” you said.
“I trust you,” Finrod said, his voice filled with gratitude as he took a long, satisfying drink from the waterskin. It was evident that he had been deprived of fresh water for quite some time, and the relief was palpable on his face. After quenching his trish, he turned his gaze toward you.
“Thank you, my love. Many more of us would have perished if you hadn't come,” he stated.
You nodded with a hint of determination in your eyes. “It seems sometimes it's okay not to listen, especially when you have a good reason not to,” you said. “And I was already on the verge of going stir-crazy with Celegorm in the same house,” you added, prompting a snort of laughter from Finrod.
“I’m serious!” you exclaimed, your voice laced with playful frustration. “Don’t leave me ever again in the same place as that blondie. I was this close to fulfilling the urge to let Ann eat him alive,” you said, pinching your fingers together for emphasis.
Finrod chuckled, his laughter filling the atmosphere. “Understood, my dear,” he said with a grin, and the two of you shared a hearty laugh, finding solace and humor amid the adversity.
"I don't care what you say. I'm coming with you. I already stole from Morgoth once. I might as well do it again," you said sternly. "I do not think I can convince you otherwise even if I tried," Finrod said. "Good," you said, then chuckled and enjoyed the moment together as Ann returned to you, having reduced once Tol Sirion into nothing but rubble.

The Definition of Kinslaying
Summary: In which Celegorm is Absolutely Fine And Not At All Traumatised.
He’s used to it at this point. The dirty looks, the spitting at his feet, the way parents grab their children when they see him coming, the way merchants and barmen refuse to serve him, it’s a blow to the pride of a once loved prince but he accepts it with no retort no matter how much it stings. He would have fought back once, he would have been furious but that flame seems to have finally been quenched, he had just been re embodied for reasons he didn’t fully understand and he didn’t want to jeopardise it so soon. These imbeciles didn’t understand, they couldn’t possibly but he must stay here for those that did. That’s what Amme kept telling him anyway. The imbeciles comment had been an addition of Curvo’s.
So that’s what he said to himself as he walked through the streets of Valinor with his head held up without a hood to cover his silver hair, refusing to hide even if deep down he wanted to. Oh but he wanted to. But he didn’t think he’d be able to look his Atya in the eyes when he got back if he’d finally succumbed to the desire to pretend he wasn’t a son of Feanor, what was meant to be their greatest source of pride. He got the usual murmurs and jeers of ‘kinslayer’ as he tried to get through the crowd that had gathered to reach the one shop that still sold them their essentials.
But as he pushed past one of the elves he met their eyes. A Sindar. He recognised him from Doriath. A rational person would have assumed he had more of a right to that insult than any but Celegorm wasn’t the rational sort. He also never forgot a face and certainly could never forget this one. So he spoke back with a low dangerous tone that hushed the crowd and a wild grin that hadn’t graced his face in many a year, ‘You fucking hypocrite. You go throwing that word around like you didn’t earn it as well. Like I wouldn’t fucking remember what you did.’
The elf laughed mockingly ‘What I did? You can’t actually be serious, you came there to slaughter the lot of us and you have the nerve to try and criticise us for fighting back? You monsters got what you deserved.’ Celegorm clenched and unclenched his fists before replying. ‘When you killed us we deserved it. We brought it onto ourselves and you were justified in killing us. But you still drove your swords spears and arrows into our chests, you still killed us and though we killed more than you and we initiated the conflict I want to hear you admit it was kinslaying.’
The elf spat at his feet and glared at him ‘You aren’t people. Not after all you did. Killing a group of murderous orcs isn’t kinslaying. It was in self defence anyways.’ And that’s it. That’s when the fire that had begun stirring in his veins the minute he’d seen that elf’s face, clean and no longer smeared with blood but the same face and it was all too much but he was not going to get away with that. ‘Self defence. Was it self defence when you drove your sword through my brother’s back? He wasn’t armed, what kind of self defence was that? It wasn’t even defending someone else, he wasn’t fighting. Do you remember what Caranthir was doing? DO YOU?! Or did you not bother remembering the details? After all why would a monster’s death be worth remembering, staying up at night over?’
‘He was cradling Curufin’s corpse! He was wounded but he crawled his way across the floor so he could sooth our little brother’s passage to Mandos! He was a person! He may not have been a good one but he still was one and his death counted! It counted to us! You still fucking killed him!’ It had been the last thing Celegorm had seen before his death other than his assailant. He’d been in the throes of blood lust like he’d never experienced before, his desire for vengeance stronger than it had been at any point in his life the moment he’d seen his Curufin fall back with a clatter that shouldn’t have been audible in the struggle but seemed to ring clear in his head. Because Curufin was his, he always had been, they connected in a way no one really understood since the days of youth when he was a solemn little child who’d only be lifted by Tyelko and Atya.
But while his grief had instantly transferred to rage even in that state he’d glimpsed an image that would be imprinted in his mind from that moment on. Moryo, drenched in blood, breath coming harshly, easing Curvo onto his lap and leaning down to stroke his raven hair back with little repetitive Quenya phrases murmured and gently rocking him in his arms. And it was almost a familiar scene, it could have been the Moryo who used to embroider little flowers onto his tunics as apologies, thank yous or just to say ‘I love you’. The Curvo who’d sit at the foot of his bed to read and offer the occasional sarcastic remark for whole days. Except.
Except, Caranthir’s fingers left streaks of blood smeared on Curufin’s face with every caress, the murmurs were broken off by fits of bloody coughing, Caranthir was sobbing and Curufin’s eyes were glazing over. And then he’d seen him, he’d heard Moryo’s breath stop and seen the expression of shock on his face as his head fell onto Curufin’s breastplate. But he hadn’t had time to get his vengeance because his vision had gone black and he was finally able to join them. He turned on his heel sharply and walked back to Formenos, angrily pushing tears off his cheeks. When did he start crying? They’d probably all seen it to, in a public space with every eye on him. Well never mind his dignity, he needed to go see his brothers. Maybe he wasn’t quite as healed as he’d thought.

Special Abilities of Galadriel That Made her Stand Out Among Other Elves - by Eru Lotr
I have tremendous admiration and respect for Galadriel as a character in Tolkien’s legendarium. Galadriel is a model of female leadership and power. In a universe where many of the movers and shakers were male, Galadriel held her own as Lady of Lothlorien and one of the greatest living Eldar. She inspired awe and respect.
She exhibits strength in the face of temptation. Despite being offered power from the One Ring, she was able to turn it down, showing her deep moral integrity and self-awareness. Few could have resisted such temptation.
Galadriel was born in Valinor during the Years of the Trees and was considered one of the greatest of the Noldorin Elves. Even among the elves of Valinor she was renowned for her beauty, wisdom, and powers. She was one of the few to have fought against Feanor during the Kinslaying and refused to join in his rebellion, for which she was banned from returning to Valinor.
When she came to Middle Earth, Galadriel and her husband Celeborn ruled over the wood elves of Lothlórien. She lived in Middle Earth through the First and Second Ages, acquiring great knowledge and power over many long years. Galadriel was able to slow the wearing effects of time on her lands, preserving the beauty of Lothlórien.
Galadriel was bearer of Nenya, one of the three Elven rings of power. Nenya gave Galadriel the ability to preserve and protect Lothlórien as a haven against the outside world. She used her magic ring to keep evil and decay from entering the forest, creating a timeless realm. The power of her ring also helped Galadriel read minds and communicate telepathically with others.
In addition, Galadriel had the gift of foresight and could glimpse events both past and future. She was able to telepathically communicate and counsel members of the Fellowship when they visited Lothlórien. Galadriel turned down the One Ring when offered it by Frodo, proving the strength of her character. Her wisdom and magic helped the Fellowship on their journey.
So in summary, Galadriel gained great power through her ancient lineage, possession of one of the Elven rings, and her inner strength to turn away from evil. Her mystical abilities and far-seeing wisdom made her an invaluable ally in the fight against Sauron. Among the Eldar, she had no equal in Middle Earth.
She serves as a bridge between the mortal and immortal realms, guiding humans while also representing the dignity and grace of the High Elves. Galadriel is truly unique in this regard.
Her mystical abilities were used judiciously and for good. She could have abused her powers or withdrawn from the world, but she chose to nurture beauty in Lothlorien and provide counsel to the Fellowship.
There is a melancholy air about Galadriel. Her tears over Gandalf’s fall humanized her, despite her power and wisdom. I think she carried a deep sorrow for all she had witnessed.
What can Galadriel inspire you to do?
Galadriel’s deep knowledge and ability to counsel others wisely reminds me to continue pursuing education and perspective. There is so much more to learn if I keep an open and curious mind. Her insights came from lived experience over thousands of years, but I can still seek to understand others and provide thoughtful advice.
Despite being powerful, Galadriel remained humble and chose to use her gifts for good rather than personal glory. This inspires me to stay grounded and use my own talents to help others. Seeking knowledge rather than power is a worthy goal.
Galadriel had great inner strength and faith, despite moments of sorrow. She inspires me to find my own inner resolve and meet difficulties with stoicism and grace. Her strength was not flashy but ran deep.
Above all, Galadriel inspires me to live with purpose, principle, and care for the world around me. She is a reminder of how one person can make a profound difference through wisdom and perseverance. Her character will continue to motivate me to learn, endure, and protect what is good.

AU asks: Finarfin is the eldest of Finwe's sons instead of Feanor?
(five things that would happen in an au ask game)
thanks for the prompt!
Indis is Finwë's first wife, Finarfin is their first child, with Fingolfin, Findis and Lalwen following soon. While Indis and Finwë do not pour much of their spirits into their firstborn, it is still unusual for the Eldar to have so many children in such a short time; after Lalwen, Indis starts growing weaker, and fades despite the attempts to help her.
Finarfin stays by his father's side through all of this. He visits Alqualondë once or twice in his late teens, but always returns to Tirion. He helps to look after Lalwen while Indis grows weaker, he helps Finwë with all his attempts to help Indis, he comforts his siblings when they cannot sleep. Deep down, he always knew Indis would leave them.
Finwë grieves for a long time. Here the possibilities may vary: he already has many of children, so he may not want more of them enough to remarry; or he can meet Miriel who would take Indis' place in canon. Maybe there is a spark between them; maybe she makes him as happy as he had not been in ages, and he cannot refuse her.
Finarfin convinces himself he is fine with Miriel. Convinces himself his mother's decision does not hurt him. (It's his fault. He should have put more of himself into helping, should have spent more time by her side, should have taken all of his siblings away so she could have some peace and quiet. Clearly, he was not enough.) He welcomes Miriel into their family, though she is loud and bright and laughes a lot. Makes Finwë laugh a lot. Finarfin does not remember laughing as much before.
When Lalwen is of age, and little Fëanáro old enough not to require a lot of attention, Finarfin goes to Alqualondë, heeding Olwë's invitation. Officially, he goes to study their craft and lore. Deep down, Finarfin does not want to think about returning to Tirion at all.

Caranthir, also known as Caranthir the Dark, was the fourth son of Feanor and the harshest and the quickest to anger of his seven brothers
Tumblr media
Haleth was the daughter of Haldad, leader of the Haladin (or Halethrim), one of the Three Houses of the Edain.
Head canons undercut
Caranthir was known to be the odd one of his family, and he felt something inside himself that he did not want to address, nor even acknowloge. However when he met Haleth, he thought her the most beautiful in all of Arda, despite her being in the race of men. His soldiers watched in awe as she was able quench his anger with ease, and match his with ten fold. He fell in love in less then a week, over the days they planned and aided in the rebuilding of the Haladins camp, and praised her valiance to the gall of Haleth. Caranthir was never good at making friendships easily, but with Haleth, they formed a fast and brazen connection, that sparked through his entire fea, and finally he felt as if someone understood him.
He offered her land and a courting proposal, but she refused. He was torn then, and asked why she had rejected him.
“I have no interest in men, but I do not find you distasteful. I am proud you see, and being together would only cause hardship; for both our peoples”
He and his company escorted her people to Estolad instead, and they began settling down. He often visited her land, for despite the failed marriage proposal, they became close still, but never past the confines of friendship, until something deep inside Caranthir changed.
One day when Haleth was braiding his hair, she surprised him by placinga braid in a style that is only used on women of her race. When he saw it, his heart lurched and for the first time in many centuries, he began to cry.
She had done it because she knew, that Caranthir was in the wrong body, before he himself had even realized it.
and he became a she.
They both finally dealt with their feelings that they had suppressed for so long, and they married in secret under the laws of the Haladin, and not of the Eldar.
Caranthir did not have too much body dysmorphia, she liked her prominent jaw line, and her male features. But on bad days she was able to talk and cry to Haleth without turning to anger and rage like she did before. No longer did she had to be mis-gendered, and her brothers took the news well, and braided a new family braid in her hair.
Yet Haleth grew old, and while Caranthir stayed in denial about her rising age, she suddenly was confronted with the gift of men....
mortality.
Haleth died while she was away in Thargelion, and her body was laid in a burial mound before she could even give her funeral rites. She visited her grave once, and never again, for her grief was described as a shadow, that it consumed the very light around her. Caranthir the dark fit her perfectly now. She became very fierce with the sindarin elves, and killed with little mercy in the second kinslaying.
She died in Menegroth; the thousand caves after being fatally wounded by Nimloth who stopped her from killing her young daughter Elwing. Her last words were to her brother Maglor, who told him to bring her body to Haleth’s grave to be buried next to her.
He did as requested, and beside Haleth’s overgrown grave, a new one was made.

Thingol wasn't that bad:
1. Banning a language because the speakers murdered a bunch of your brother's - originally your own - people wasn't an overreaction??? He had to do SOMETHING - a lot of this people were probably realated to the Teleri + the Noldor lied to him + Melian called the sons of Feanor 'Fell and fey' even before the second kinslaying - letting them into Doriath wasn't a great idea when they'd already proven themselves capable of outright killing Teleri (ethnically similar to the Sindar) and abandoning their own fellow Noldor to a journey that killed half of them
2. The Sindar really weren't in any kind of shape to be fighting any wars??? The First Battle killed A LOT of them - remember, Thingol's people only won one front. Cirdan was still being besieged. Melain put up the girdle because they RETREATED to Menegroth. Clearly they weren't in any place to be waging war.
3. The Eldar didn't come to Beleriand to help them?? Thingol had to live with the fact that his people were dying because they made the choice to wait for him: are those really the kind of people whose lives you'd be willing to risk for some jewels and an overblown desire for revenge for the death of ONE man. His brother Elmo was dead; his children nephews and grandnephews too. The Sindar were used to death.
The Noldor weren't there to help the Sindar or Avari. Why should Thingol risk his people for their sake?
4. He wasn't indiscriminately against all Noldor - he was willing to forgive the Nolofinwians for their (unwitting) part in the kinslayings and only asked Finrod and Galadriel to leave TEMPORARYLY. He was okay with Galadriel learning from his wife and even marrying his grandnephew.
5. The Noldor came to Beleriand partly looking for lands to rule. Could you really blame Thingol for not letting them into his kingdom? For not trusting that KINSLAYERS wouldn't unnecessarily sacrifice his people or make them bear the brunt of the fighting to make them easier pickings later?
Can you really blame him for refusing to join the Union of a guy whose brothers kidnapped and tried killing his daughter? Who killed the Teleri for BOATS? Who were willing to let their own people died out of pride and jealousy?
And given how widely known doom of Mandos was, Thingol would have know that any attempt by the Noldor to fight Melkor would end in Doom regardless of their intentions. As such, staying as far away from them as possible made sense.
6. The Luthien thing was bad. Nothing can make up for that.
But I think the fact that he did it out of love and to stop his daughter from making a what he saw as a huge mistake doesn't make him a bad man? He knew men weren't immortal and didn't want his only child to fade away when Beren died.
And the fact that he made Dior his heir, took in human refugees and fostered Turin showed that he learnt from his mistakes and was willing to change.
Also, Elrond set a crazy high bride-price for Arwen too - Aragorn had to become king of Gondor (which, let's remember, he wasn't really heir to and which had turned down his ancestor's far better claim) AND basically raise Arnor from scratch. Turgon let Idril marry Tuor only because he was blessed by freaking Ulmo AND Turgon owed his father and uncle big time (sacrificing themselves and their people to buy Turgon and his people time to escape).
7. The concept of wereglid was established in Tolkien's work. Luthien had every right to the Silmaril SHE recovered. And not just because she recovered it, but because Celegorm and Curufin kidnapped her to try forcing her into marriage???
It's clear that marriage is pretty holy for elves and NOT something they do for political gain. It's not the same thing as a human being forced into a politically motivated marriage, and as such, is a pretty massive crime she was entitled recompense for.

Am I a bad person or do I just project all my feelings into Feanor because my family almost went through with the same shit his did and I completely understand why he went down the “I hate Indis and her children” path because my mom almost had a kid with the man she was seeing not two weeks after my father died. I would’ve hated that child she had with her ex. I would’ve left home as soon as I can so I can avoid seeing the child that could’ve been my fathers but isn’t because my mom choose another man not even before my fathers body was cold. But if she actually went though with it and seemed to erase all that my father was (even if he wasn’t as saintly as Miriel is portrayed to be) I would’ve ruined my relationship with her to keep my fathers memory alive. Faenor not ruining his relationship with his father makes him a better person than I am because I am so filled with rage that the mere thought of my mom betraying my dad is enough to send me into hysterics. It would be worse if that were true and I was an only child but I know my brothers felt the same way as I did. My older brother, to this day, still refuses to speak with my mother because of her actions following directly in my fathers death. And my younger brother has trouble speaking to her even if he is living with us due to it to. But it would’ve been so much worse if my dad has a chance to come back but my mom went “ah sorry your dad is going to stay gone forever in a place that promised that no one would be sundered forever because I want more kids!!!” I already had two brothers so I know what I felt like having siblings but to think that my mom was having a kid with another person after my dad died and wasn’t even buried yet would make me so hateful. Like it was almost a reality for me so I cannot being to imagine how Feanor felt.

Feanorian hugs rating headcanon:
Maedhros : 13/10
He's a big boy so all engulfing hugs, he likes to bury his head into the person's shoulder and smell them if he needs comfort (because I have a personnal headcanon he's at least partially blind after Angband so he relies a lot on his other senses, including smells ). Overall it feels really safe and comforting, after all he was used to comforting his brothers when they were little.
Maglor : 6/10
Not the biggest hugger out of the brothers, but he still might go for side hugs when he truly needs comfort. He was also known to rest his head on Nelyo's shoulder when he was young
He still gets a good rating because he hugged Elrond and Elros a lot and gave them the sweetest, most gentle hugs ever, as he used to with his own twin brothers.
Celegorm : 9/10
Maybe the less princely of the feanorion, he hugs a lot and is generally spontaneously touchy with people, blame it on growing up half feral in the woods. He gives the best bear hugs and is somehow pretty reassuring. Minus one point for being slightly overbearing at times.
Caranthir : 7/10
Strangely enough pretty good, I refuse to believe that after spending some times with dwarves he doesn't warms up to their culture (in my head they are way more liberal with touch than elves). Therefore he hugs loved ones at time, especially when he's drunk. Sober, he likes short greeting hugs better but once drunk, he sometimes forget to let go of them here goes my headcanon that's he's really touch starved becausd of the middle child syndrom™.
Curufin : 1/10
Does not like to hug, doesn not like to be hugged, will freeze if hugged by surprise, and scowl at any person who proposes it. The only point goes for Tyelpe as a baby and Feanor when he was young.
Ambarussa (yes they're one person now) 5/10
Really not that bad, they're the babies of the family and got doted over a lot by their eldest so they like hugging a lot, the problem is their unability to stay still for too long, they start squirming about 10 seconds in the hug.
+ Celebrimbor : 100/10
Sweetest hugs ever, he likes to bury his face in the other person's chest and radiates warms. He's a sweet angel and needs to be protected at all costs.

Let's go for Ecthelion of the Fountain.
Ecthelion was born during the Years of the Trees, to Noldor parents. His father was an architect serving in the guild and his mother was an artisan baker whose specialty was cakes and pastries that got served in the royal palace. Because of his mother's close proximity to the Noldorin royal family, as a child, Ecthelion was often brought by her to the palace so he can be watched over with the other children in the day care for the palace employees.
This is how he meets Finrod, because the prince was forever sneaking about as a very young child and would make friends with anybody that stood still long enough and listened to what he said. And, because Ecthelion became friends with Finrod, he inevitably also becomes friends with Turgon. Glorfindel gets into the picture because Glorfindel was the son of Vanyarin aristocrats who often visited Queen Indis.
Together, they -- FInrod, Turgon, Glorfindel and Ecthelion -- were eventually called by Feanor as the Vanya Menace Group, because they, in Feanor's opinion, were good for nothing rascals who did nothing except party and drink and get into all sorts of mischief in the city. While this is partly true, the nickname stuck and sadly, so did its implications.
In truth, the party-goers were Glorfindel and Finrod. Turgon joined some moderate affairs but stayed away once it got too raucous for his tastes. Ecthelion had no choice but to let Glorfindel drag him around with Finrod.
He is the mother hen of the group, often calling a stop if he feels they're getting too far in drinking. He is the one who cares for his aristocratic friends' reputations, and is often the elf who would drag drunken Glorfindel and Finrod to the safety of their homes before he would go home himself.
Ecthelion eventually got a scholarship in the Telerin music school where Maglor was teaching, and he was actually a student of Maglor in wind and string instruments.
Together with Glorfindel, he was one of the two persons Finrod trusted the most outside of his family. He and Glorfindel knew of Finrod's double-faceted life, and knew practically all of the prince's affairs and conquests.
One might ask, why did Ecthelion and Glorfindel choose to go to Turgon eventually when they reached Beleriand?
The answer is simple. They wanted to go with Finrod. Their plan actually was to split up: Glorfindel will keep Turgon company while Ecthelion went with Finrod, but this came to naught because FInrod refused and said, 'if we still stay together in Beleriand, we will the three of us exchange faces, ai!'
Ecthelion was among the most vocal protesters when Turgon chose to keep to Gondolin during the Bragollach. He and Glorfindel were worried about their other friends and of course, Finrod, and they knew Angrod and Aegnor were at Dorthonion. It is one of Ecthelion's biggest regrets in life -- that he didn't do more for his other friend when it mattered the most.

Do you ever think about the fact that Indis was Miriel’s handmaid and most likely knew that Miriel was going through postpartum, and understood that she needed time to recover in the Halls of Mandos so she could regain her strength and come back to her family, and still decided to accept Finwe’s marriage proposal because I do often.
Like Indis knew Miriel just needed healing to recover from a difficult birth, and also knew that if she married Finwe Miriel would be separated from her child for eternity. She also knew that her recovery was going to be slow, but still decided to marry Finwe.
And in doing so Finwe not only abandons her and her children, but sides with Feanor after he was banished for almost killing Fingolfin, her son? Finwe refuses to come back to be with her and stays with the son that reminds him most of Miriel.
At what point do you think she realized she was truly the second wife, in all sense of the words. Not second love, because Feanor occupied that place, as did all of his children. At what point do you think she realized she just used to make Finwe feel better?
I think Finwe was most certainly damned by the Valar for his second marriage, but I think Indis was too.
Like because I do.

Headcanon Advent Day 23
TW: suicide (kinda)
I finished Glorfindel, so I'll post it, but I have non-adventy things for the next two days, and I won't be doing the Peredhel Family because that would be so much work.
Glorfindel
Name(s): “Glorfindel” is an epessë meaning “golden haired” in the Mithrim dialect of Sindarin.  The Quenya version is Laurefindil, or Lauro as a family nickname.  He is very strongly attached to his epessë and rarely uses his other names anymore.
Appearance: 7’2’’, muscular, very light skin, honey blond hair, blue eyes
Age: about 7,500
Heritage: 3/4 Noldor, 1/4 Vanyar
There are many possible origins for Glorfindel, but I chose that he's the daughter of Findis and a Noldor prince.  He also had an older brother.  Both of them pledged themselves to Turgon once they were old enough.  Glorfindel had a girlfriend in Aman for maybe a century, which was probably a long time in those days, who refused to go with him when the Noldor rebelled.
In the First Kinslaying, Glorfindel didn't participate, and tried to shield civilians, who were mostly Teleri because more Noldor civilians were able to stay back.  (I always think of the helicopter pilot in the My Lai massacre.  Someone must have been that guy in the kinslaying.  Probably several people.  I mean, a lot of people were there.)  However, he and his brother still followed Turgon out of loyalty.  The journey across the ice was difficult, treacherous, and traumatizing, and ultimately his brother gave up.  He let himself die because it was the only feasible way back at that point, leaving only Glorfindel out of his family to go on.
Glorfindel’s first real battle was when Fingolfin’s host finally arrived in Middle Earth.  Later, he became very skilled in both fighting and leading troops in war.  The Noldor stayed a while by Lake Mithrim, with the northern Sindar, and Glorfindel became good friends with them, having some of them join his house.  My theory is that the reason Glorfindel’s name doesn’t quite fit with later versions of Sindarin (according to Tolkien) is that it’s in the Mithrim dialect.
I have surprisingly few headcanons about Glorfindel in Gondolin, but he definitely learned a lot about politics, leading a house, and leading an army.  He was close with Idril, since he was one of her closest relatives in Gondolin.  But I do have things to say about the fall of Gondolin.  He was pretty sensible in the battle: they were horribly outmatched, and he wouldn’t have survived by throwing himself at the enemy.  Also, because of his relationship to Idril, he may have known about her secret passage (or at least that she would have something in mind).  This is how he ended up getting out.
Glorfindel did tie his hair up, of course, when he put on his armor.  (By the way, I’m pretty sure elves wear chainmail, not plate mail.  I don’t think I’ve ever seen them drawn with that though.)  But not even elves can keep their hair in place throughout an hours-long battle.  Also, he canonically wore a helmet, since Lost Tales says that the balrog grabbed his hair “under his golden cap”.  My image of this battle is book-based: the balrog is twice his size, more or less human shaped, with a body made out of shadow and flame, and no wings or horns.  I like to think that he knew the balrog had his hair and threw it off the cliff anyway, because that was the only way he saw to defeat it.  His sacrifice wouldn’t be as meaningful if it was done on accident.
Glorfindel healed emotionally in Mandos and was reborn when he was ready.  He wouldn’t have been the first to be reborn (in fact, some people died and were reborn before Feanor’s birth), but he was definitely the first of the rebellious princes.  He went back to live with his parents.  In the Second Age, the Valar chose a few Noldor (and maybe Vanyar from the War of Wrath) to be allowed to go back to Middle Earth to help Gil-Galad, and he was the only one to actually agree to do it.  He sailed to Númenor with the Blue Wizards and was then ferried to Lindon, where he served Gil-Galad for a while before going with Elrond to rescue the survivors of Eregion and found Rivendell.  It’s quite possible that he actually stayed to guard Rivendell to defend it during the War of the Last Alliance, since they were still in danger of siege.
I wish I knew more about his part in the war against Angmar.  The Ringwraiths are afraid of him because he’s seen the light of the Trees, and because he’s as capable in the Unseen world as the Seen, and possibly also because he’s already died and come back, and they’re afraid of death (though it’s a different death).  After a few battles that lead to them fleeing, they never even let him come close enough to cross swords with them.
Glorfindel isn’t actually part of Elrond’s house, but doesn’t have his own house either, he’s just an allied lord.  He is one of Elrond’s best friends and most trusted advisors, and there aren’t many secrets between them.  He’s also friends with Gandalf, whom he knew in Valinor.  This mostly means they make fun of each other, though.  He definitely started the tra-la-la-lally song in the Hobbit, with the intention of annoying Gandalf.
Canonically (not in my fic though), Glorfindel either stayed in Rivendell to defend it from the siege he expected, or rode westward to draw Sauron’s attention.  Him leaving Rivendell would have attracted all kinds of attention, which is why he didn’t go with the Fellowship.  He probably wouldn’t have killed the balrog without dying a second time anyway, and then we wouldn’t have had Gandalf the White, so it’s better than way.  (When he finds out how Gandalf copied him with his death, he’s going to kill him a second time.)
Glorfindel is very open, sociable, and joyous, though there’s a lot of depth behind that, and he is as wise as Elrond (or more).  He has pretty strong foresight, but he doesn’t try to control or harness it: thoughts just come to him that he knows are true.  It’s a normal part of his thought processes, to him.  He’s skilled at fighting, and works at it, but he’s also interested in things like horse breeding, history, and linguistics.  He’s not just a dumb jock, even if he acts that way most of the time.

I'm not quite sure which Artbreeder portraits of him are my own work and which I saved from other people, and none of them are quite right anyway, so let's leave out Artbreeder. Here's the closest to the "correct" colors I have (of course it's only flat color but whatever).

Your elf returns from the dead and finds you with a child
Tumblr media
(Here you go. Excuse the bad tittle, I couldn't come up with anything better. Maedhros, Celegorm, Argon and Finrod are our special guests here. I felt like they would fit the consept of the requests. Theres a lot of angst in Maedhros’s and Celegorm’s part, so be warned. Enjoy!)
Requested by Anonymous
Warnings; marriage, fluff, death, angst, divorce, and complicated family life.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Maedhros
-When you two met and fell in love, it was love at first sight. Maedhros hadn't been interested in anyone before, counting how many people asked him to court them, but something about you got his heart hammering like a drum.
-You were a bit shy, which he thought was cute. You were charming when you got comfortable around him. Throwing jokes and keeping him on his toes excited him and made him even more interested in you.
-He stole your heart for helping you around social situations and being kind, so you silently had a crush on him but hated it because you thought he was out of your league.
-However, he mustered the courage to ask you to court him, and you said yes.
-Your courtship laster for a long time, filled with love and adoration for each other. It all ended up in a happy marriage.
-His family accepted you. Nerdanel adored you, but having Feanor's approval was tough at first, but eventually, he softened up for you.
-After being married for a long time, you two finally considered starting a family. Unfortunately, that would never happen when the darkening happened, and Maedhros swore the oath to retrieve his father's silmarils.
-You had a bad feeling about the ordeal and tried to convince your husband of it. Arguments took place between you, then the kin slaying happened, and you refused to go with him to middle earth.
-Maedhros was heartbroken but still left with his father, leaving you on the shores of Valinor.
-Heartbroken and alone, you seek out your mother-in-law for comfort and help.
-Your family had left with Feanor's host, and most of your friends had left with Finfolfin's host, so you were all alone.
-Your other friends from Teleri and Vanyar would not trust you after what happened.
-Nerdanel welcomed you with open arms and let you stay with her.
-Your grief didn't take a good toll on you, especially when you found out a few months later that you were pregnant.
-You and Maedhros had been trying for a baby but had some complications. Your little one came at the worst time possible.
-It griefed you to the end that Maedhros wasn't going to meet his child, but for the sake of your baby, you pulled yourself together.
-After nine months, your daughter was finally born.
-She had her father's hair, which pained you, but you still loved her.
-You missed Maedhros terribly, but you stopped thinking about him and dedicated yourself raising your precious little girl.
-Nerdanel was a great help and was happy to be a grandmother. She took over whenever you needed rest.
-When Maedhros was released, he sought you out. Even though; he was afraid of how the encounter might go.
-He didn't expect to see you conversing with a young elleth, who kinda looked like you but with red hair.
-You felt rage when you saw him, and you became even madder when he thought you moved on and had a child with another.
-You smacked him with a book, calling him names and blaming him for leaving a child with you.
-It would take him a moment to realize that you were pregnant when he left, and the young confused elleth beside you was his grown-up daughter.
-He would feel happy but regretful. He left you alone to carry the burden, and he wasn't there for his daughter.
-It was just another addition to what he failed in his life.
-Reconnecting you wasn't easy. All the Anger you suppressed came out like a volcano, so you were constantly pissy with him.
-His daughter was angry with him too, and obviously inherited your temper, so he had two elleths constantly mad at him.
-His daughter didn't accept him at first. He had been gone for her entire life, and sometimes she had been bullied for being related to him.
-She was also mad that he left you to suffer all alone.
-Maedhros would feel even more guilty but tried to fix things with you and bond with his child.
-Things would slowly turn for the better, and you stopped feeling angry.
-Love would finally return, and even his daughter slowly accepted him. Things were good at last.
Celegorm
-You're not sure what possessed you to marry an elf-like him.
-He was loud and wild, while you were quiet and calm.
-He was a childhood friend, and over time, when you both grew up, you accepted when he asked to court you and soon got married.
-You did have a healthy relationship and say you both were very much in love. Even though; he sometimes annoyed your existence.
-He sometimes had the intelligence of a rock, so you were the brains in the relationship.
-He never mistreated you, but all went down when the darkening happened, and he swore an oath.
-He had turned into another elf and seemed to enjoy the havoc and blood he spilled when he slew his kin.
-You were frightened and refused to go with him.
-An argument broke out, and you ran away when he raised his sword at you, thinking he was going to kill you.
-Celegorm wasn't going to hurt. His temper got out a bit when you argued, raising his sword at you. He got confused and almost regretted it when you ran away from him.
-Turning his back on you, he left and joined his father and brothers to sail to middle earth.
-You turned on your mother-in-law and Curufin's wife for comfort and didn't have a good time. You then found out that you were expecting, which made the feeling worse.
-It scared you, and you fell into depression. You highly considered getting rid of the child than having a reminder of what your husband had become.
-Luckily, Nerdanel was there to support you and stop you from making a decision you might have regretted.
-You held on until you gave birth to your twin sons, who looked like their father.
-You allowed Nerdanel to look after your sons and went to seclusion for rest and collect yourself. You weren't ready to be a mother. You did have talks about having children with Celegorm before, but they came at the wrong time.
-It took you a long time to get out of depression, but you finally managed to collect yourself with enough help and therapy and went to see your sons.
-Your twin boys were precious and the brightest things. You regretted even considering getting rid of them and thanked Nerdanel for convincing you to keep them.
-You learned to love your boys and finally managed to live without thinking about Celegorm.
-Sometimes, Orome comes to check on you and your sons. He wanted to help you out a little. He was confused in the beginning since he didn't have experience with elven babies, but he soon got the hang of it and was a great help.
-He became like a grandpa figure to them.
-He knew about your terrible breakup with Celegorm and was saddened that Celegorm left you the burden of raising your sons alone. He felt like he failed to mentor Celegorm into a good elf. So Orome thought he should repay you for the damage his apprentice caused you.
-You knew the language of the birds and animals, so they kept you informed about what your husband was doing in middle earth. He had done many terrible things, but the moment when he kidnapped and lusted after an elven princess was the breaking point.
-You became unbelievably upset and wanted to break off the marriage bond.
-You needed a lot of therapy to get over your former husband.
-When Celegorm was finally allowed to leave the halls of Mandos, you didn't seek him out.
-Celegorm found you with Huan and a pair of twins he did not recognize. He already thought the worst things, so he demanded an explanation.
-You weren't happy to see him, especially when he behaved aggressively toward your boys.
-You told him they were your sons, then Celegorm had the audacity to blame you for moving on with another like your marriage meant nothing.
-Your sons took him down because they thought he was threatening you, and Celegorm was nothing against your son's united strength.
-You kicked him in the face, yelling and telling him he was the one who left you pregnant.
-Celegorm would feel shocked and slowly realize the truth. He would finally feel stupid and try to reconcile.
-Luckily, Orome was there to break you up before it escalated.
-You had no interest in reconnecting or re-creating the marriage bond, so you both needed a lot of couple therapy.
-Celegorm would have a hard time connecting with his sons. They were shocked and felt embarrassed he was their father.
-They were mad at him for causing you so many problems and emotional damage.
-Celegorm would feel the joy that his sons shared a passion for hunting and Orome had gifted them hounds of their own, but the fact they refused to acknowledge him as their father didn't sit well.
-They sometimes slandered him about the oath and everything he did in middle earth. They would have cut their throat than embarrassed their mother as he did.
-Orome refused to help Celegorm out. He told his former apprentice it was time to take responsibility for his actions.
-So yeah, your family life had a rough start. You refused to take him back, wanting to stay in divorce and his sons were mama's boys. He has a lot to do to have a good life.
Argon
-Argon was the second one in his family to get married when he fell in love with you.
-He was shy and blushed easily, and those were one of his perks you so much adored about him.
-He almost fainted when he asked you to marry him.
-You two talked about starting a family, and he was excited about it but was worried he would be a bad father. His family tried to be supportive, but they didn't help much because he got even more worried.
-When the darkening happened, and Argon was going to leave with his family, you begged him to stay. You had a bad feeling in your gut that something terrible would happen to him.
-He was almost convinced to stay with you, but in the end, he still left with the host of his father.
-You were heartbroken and stayed with his mother for the time being. The feeling became worst when you found out that you were expecting.
-It was hard, but with the support of Anaire and your friends, you managed to pull yourself together for the sake of your child.
-Months later, your daughter and son were born.
-It was a surprise that you were expecting twins since none of the healers noticed, but it didn't make you love them any less. They were beautiful, and Anaire was ecstatic to have grandchildren.
-It was tough at first since it was your first time being a mother, but luckily Anaire was there to help, so you had nothing to worry about.
-Some years later, not too long ago, maiars came to your doorsteps and told you about your husband.
-Argon died in a battle and had been in the halls of Mandos ever since, but since he had committed no other evil. Valars considered releasing him if you wanted him back.
-He was to suffer the doom of the Noldor, but the valars considered giving him a second chance so he could be in your children's life.
-You accepted the offer and grabbed your children to meet their father.
-When you reached the halls of Mandos, Argon was there, waiting for you. He was ecstatic when he saw you but got very confused when seeing your daughter and son.
-The meeting became awkward because he thought you moved on and had children with another.
-You laughed, calling him an idiot. You explained your daughter and son were his. You didn't have time to meet someone else.
-Argon would blush in embarrassment. He apologized and hugged his children.
-He would cry happy tears and apologize several times to you for being a terrible husband. He would have never left if he knew you were pregnant.
-You got over it a long time ago. You were just happy to have Argon back, and your children have a chance to have a father in their lives.
Finrod
-You were from the Teleri and a peculiar one as many would describe you.
-When you two met, Finrod enjoyed the breeze and the sounds of the sea on a rock, and then you appeared and unexpectedly jump-bombed in the water.
-Finrod was taken by your act and couldn't help but observe as you played with friendly reef sharks.
-He was captivated by your energy and loved the sound of your laughter.
-He couldn't help but greet you and join you for fun.
-It was a fun swim for both of you.
-You recognized him right away when he told his name because you knew his mother from parties your family attended.
-The reason why Finrod had not seen you before was that you were a bit of an oddball and didn't like to socialize much. You always preferred going for a swim and playing with sharks.
-Finrod became enamored with you, and when you started seeing each other, you started courting, which led him to ask for your hand in marriage.
-It felt like Finrod was following his father's footsteps and married a graceful swan maiden, but in the place of a swan. He married a wild shark maiden.
-His family adored you and got along perfectly with Galadriel, who was suspicious of you at first, but soon became fast friends.
-Finarfin didn't mind his son marrying someone from a lower class. He saw how happy you made Finrod, and he didn't have the heart to break you up just because you weren't from an influential family. So Finarfin was very welcoming.
-When the darkening happened, and the flight of Noldor took place, Finrod convinced you to stay because he felt you would only suffer if you came along. He wanted you to stay in the safety of Valinor.
-The separation was heartbreaking, but you stayed behind as Finrod left with his kin.
-You missed him every day, then the shocking thing happened when you found out that you were pregnant.
-You were ecstatic about the news, but your family didn't receive it well and told you not to keep the child. They pressured you that keeping the child would only cause suffering and a bad reputation because Finrod was still part of Noldor.
-Frightened and saddened by the reaction of your family, you decided to seek help from your in-laws, who still resided in Valinor.
-Finrod's parents were supportive and helped you to get through it. Months later, your son was finally born.
-When Finrod returned from the halls of Mandos and was allowed to walk upon Valinor again, he sought you out and found you living with his parents, and there was a young ellon beside you.
-He was happy to see you, and the reunion was heart-filled, but he needed to take a quick look at the elf teenager beside you.
-The ellon looked like him but with your hair since it was lighter and less blond.
-Finrod would quickly connect the dots and remember sensing life within you when you two parted. He would smile and finally hug his son.
-Your son would be confused and not recognize his father until you told him Finrod was his father. He would softly cry and hug his father back in happiness.
-You would all become a one-happy hug pile, and everything was well.

Is it an isekai if attempts to change things don't quite work out right tho? And attempts at drastic changes backfire in weird ways?
So like, I'm picturing the slipper chasing thing STILL somehow leading to Feanor getting exiled. But in a 'somehow this caused major property damage' and 'now you're not allowed in Tirion for a few hundred years bc twenty guild leaders signed a petition and also the leader of the bakers guild CRIED Feanor, the terrifying elleth was CRYING in RAGE and I think it's safer for you to get out of town before she hunts you down' kind of exile. Maybe Fingolfin has to go with him in this AU bc the property damage was half his fault.
Moose!Feanor in this verse obviously has a better relationship with his siblings, so maybe they visit, and would Finwe go with Feanor in this verse? IDK
Other non-refusible quests are/were;
Have at least Seven Children (d'you think the System would let Mooseanor change Maitimo's father name to be less insulting to the rest of his family?)
Create Three Silmarils (This ones gonna take some doing. Mooseanor needs to NOT make them out of large chunks of his soul and treelight. Is there a penalty for making this a group project?)
Swear an Oath (okay okay, Mooseanor can do this one. They've surely been working on the wording since they realized where they were and WHO they were. Still a very anxiety inducing count down in the corner window thoooo!)
Follow Melkor to Beleriand (Maybe you're Mooseanor studied boat building for a bit? As a non-smithing hobby! That no one really understands bc I kinda don't picture you liking woodwork much? *G*
Nerdanel, watching Feanor mutter nasty imprecations about the tree this wood came from as he sands down a rough patch: You know love, most people choose a hobby that they find relaxing?
Moose!Feanor, hunching a little: I have no idea what you mean. This is very relaxing!
Nerdanel, fond and completely disbelieving: mmmhmmm *hands over the cold water she brought*)
NOT immolate on the battlefield (self assigned)
Mooseanor: in my defence, nolofinwë interrupted me
Nolofinwë: you went three days without food and water and locked yourself in your smithy.
Mooseanor: okay but I had a reason for it!
System: mission complete the silmarils is 45% complete! Arafinwë is waiting to help you finish it!
Finwë: you need to take better care of yourself. Which is why we are going on a family vacation
Mooseanor: are you sure it’s not because the head of the bakers guild wants to turn me into a roast?
-
Mooseanor: *remembers what it was like Having All Those Bits and Bobs needed for childbirth* do I. Really need to get my wife pregnant six times?
System: quest: father seven sons is non-negotiable
Mooseanor: I am going to have to buy my wife so many pretty things.
-
Mooseanor: thank fucking god I was a poet before all this
*swears oath that does not doom people to the void or is magically binding.*
-
Nerdanel follows him too. Because SOMEONE needs to be the brains of this operation.
Nerdanel: husband dear. Why are you smoking.
Mooseanor: I’m Fine
Nerdanel: of course, and I can pluck the stars from the sky. Please don’t combust
Mooseanor; okay. But you’ll stay by me?
Nerdanel; of course.

In Formenos, Feanor is worried that he will be abandoned. Sure, his father came with him, and so did his sons, and a few (a lot of) other people. But his wife didn't. Some of his students didn't. The Valar have forbidden him from going to Tirion, so he can't even ask why.
He needs to be certain he can't be abandoned again. Some of his sons were reluctant to leave the city, or their friends, and may not wish to leave Valinor at all when the time comes. Feanor needs to make sure they stay by his side.
Marriage is unbreakable, for all the ages of the world.
Feanor declares that all of his sons will marry him, to prove their devotion. He means this both sexually and spiritually, though they don't have to consummate it more than once.
This pronouncement results in a long awkward silence.
Amras is the first one to ask a clarifying question. Does Feanor mean like, all at once, or taking turns? Because he really doesn't want to listen to Maglor screaming in pleasure.
Feanor says it will be sequential. He's not even sure you can form multiple marriage bonds in one night; and he doesn't want to make this unpleasant for his sons. But given how the Valar are clearly conspiring against him, it will be best if they can rely on each other, and don't have to worry that one of them has been suborned.
Maedhros doesn't say out loud that this is ridiculous. He knows that Feanor will see that as evidence of him being too sympathetic to Fingon and Nolofinwe. He does point out that marriage bonds are supposedly overwhelming, especially at first. Obviously Feanor is smart and strong enough to handle a total of eight marriage bonds. But Feanor is the crown prince and also the best craftsman in the Noldor, and might find it distracting. Maybe they should try a different plan?
Feanor says fine, he'll think about it.
In a week, Feanor comes back and tells Maedhros that Amras's concern about spacing was reasonable, but they really do need family cohesion. And in order to let the bonds settle in between, Feanor is going to start today.
Maedhros clears his schedule for the afternoon, and the night, and the next day.
There isn't a public wedding between Feanor and his eldest son. But there is a meeting for the eight of them the next day. Maedhros is physically just fine, and makes sure not to show his emotional discomfort. No need for his brothers to think this will be terrible. And maybe he'll be be better able to persuade Feanor against this path, now that he has more insight into his father's mind and is obviously not acting out of selfishness.
Feanor eventually latches onto the idea of his sons marrying each other. With Maedhros married to him, this works out tidily in terms of mathematics, and they'll still have one other person to notice if they're being led astray.
Feanor presents this new idea to his sons. They can do it by order of age: Maglor and Celegorm, Caranthir and Curufin, Amrod and Amras.
Feanor's sons proceed to entirely miss the point and start arguing about the details. Curufin has a wife and child, and although marrying Feanor would obviously be a fealty thing rather than a romance thing he's not sure the same applies to someone his own generation. Maglor says that if he has to marry Celegorm it's going to end in one of them threatening the other at sword point, can't say who yet. Celegorm says there would be no threats, he just acts. Amras flatly refuses to marry his twin. Amrod refuses to let anyone other than his twin know him that intimately, now that it's an option.
All in all, it's several months before they agree on an initial plan. Maglor will marry Caranthir. Curufin will wait a few years to marry his Celegorm, until Celebrimbor is a bit older. Amras will get high for the wedding night with Amrod, once they find an appropriate herb that makes memories fuzzy but doesn't dull the spirit or the mind.
Maglor and Caranthir are the most straightforward. They get married the next year. They refuse to talk about it at all afterwards, and don't get along any better later.
Feanor is called to a festival in Tirion before his other sons have a chance to wed.
__
Marriage requires a vow and an act. The vow is a statement of shared purpose, calling one the Valar or the One in witness, a promise of unity and dedication. The act is typically sex, but anything that involves vulnerability of the spirit, shared intense emotions, and excitement of the body works.
Swearing the Oath does not bind the house of Feanor into one bond.
Killing at Alqulaonde does, with death around them and fear of death in their hearts, their own blood pumping hard in rhythm with each other, ending lives even as it horrifies them because they see no better way towards their single goal.
