BNHA SPOILERS, AS USUAL, KEEP MOVIN' 💗
Certain fans: The adults in MHA are terrible! They're using CHILDREN in their war! This is terrible for the story!
Certain fans: But Katsuki should stay dead tho. That's good for the story.
Horikoshi: Hey, so here are the consequences of the flawed society, and children being used by desperate adults in a war situation, and here's some Pro Heroes who are doing everything, including sacrificing themselves, to make sure that Katsuki, a child, survives the war.
Horikoshi: Also, here's how it affects Tenko/Tomura to see this, it's going to start a major reaction in him that will be integral to the next chapters and eventually, in IZuku rescuing him; as well as AFO pointing out the implications of using children/students to fight the war when Adults abandoned the fight.

I’m really getting so sick of streaming services. No I do not want to pay “the same price as a fancy cup of coffee!” every month forever, for each service, in order to access my favorite shows and movies. Never mind that said show or movie could be removed and transferred to another service I don’t subscribe to at any point. Or that it could be taken down completely without ever being seen again (my condolences to the animation industry). OR that there are times I can’t watch something because other people *legally* sharing my account decided to watch that particular service at the same time. I’ve never, ever been a DVD person but I’m seriously thinking of finally investing in a combo DVD/Blu-Ray and stocking up on my favorites.

I really appriciate how often Machete is depicted struggling and feeling like a burden, while still being loved and supported by Vasco. It gives the top tier angst of "i'm not good enough, I'm not worth it" but you frame it in such a way where it's clear that's just how he *feels* and is not how things really are, but also it's so nice to see someone who struggles quite often in a loving and unique relationship that suits them. The narrative of not being able to love or be loved unless you're consistently healthy is really tiring lol.

Thinking about all the mxtx fics that gave effy names to their ocs/bg characters or straight up named them something that could not exist in Chinese pinyin again...
Tumblr media
Just so you know these are the basic pinyin combinations that exist.
That's not even going into dialects which is a whole other thing but as far as I've seen no one has tried to write LWJ speaking in gusu dialect yet which is the irl suzhou dialec
And please be careful what you name your characters, I've seen someone name their characters Blue Book, Blue Radish, Blue Smell, Blue Bag, Scenery
Also be careful with naming them after flowers because they might end up sounding like prostitute names
The thing is WWX's birth name is literally the character for baby so weird literal names can and do exist
Hell my aunt's Chinese name is literally 'rainbow', my yeye's name was 'genius' and my nainai's sworn sister (idk how to describe it they were basically such good friends they basically call each other sisters alongside like two other women and their and my family have reunion dinner once in a while) her name was literally High Cloud 高云
Even in svssss (not counting six balls) LBH's name is literally 'the icy Luo river'
But even then they at least have nice meanings even if they ate very literal, and not like objects (tho ngl 蓝香 lan xiang, is very pretty but the author intended it to be mean spice xiangliao香料 but xiang by itself really just means smells/fragrance)
Just, please please note that Chinese words meanings changes when paired with other words and lose that meaning when it's by itself.
Like 包 bao by itself means bag. 包子 baozi means dumpling. You cannot take out the zi子 away from baozi and keep the meaning of dumpling.
But the thing is, they were all not educated. I feel like educated ppl or people with money to go to a fortune teller get nice poetic names if not then the child gets a very literal name. Though I guess birth names could get away with being more literal. LooKING AT YOU CCSR AND WCZ YOU LITERALLY NAMED YOUR CHILD WEI BABY

ik everyone and their mother has said this already but I appreciate how many episodes of puppet history focus on non-white stories and are both respectful and dont just focus on mass suffering at the hands of white people, and when they do have episodes involving that they still make sure to focus on the people fighting back and not just "oh this horrible thing was done, sad!"
Also I appreciate how Shane makes an effort to pronounce shit correctly, and to be respectful of people's cultures and spirituality, and to find lesser known stories from these cultures. It's always cool to go into the comments and see people who usually don't see their history or people acknowledged talking about how happy the episode made them.

Violent pro Russian hate groups just stormed the premises of Pride Festival that was supposed to close Pride Week in Tbilisi. The organizers had to be evacuated. Everyone is fine.
It's just heartbreaking to see this happen again and again. Police 'failed' to keep them out because current pro Russian government has been doing the damnest with church together to use queer people for their political games and homophobia to gain more supporters. I have been at this festival years ago and it was the most supportive and loving space I have been in, I have so many fond memories from it.
I was going to be there this year too, as were my queer friends. Now all of us are sad because once again we had to face the harsh reality that queer people aren't protected here. And worse - the government will actively orcherstrate violence like this to further separate Georgia from Europe and European human values because that is what Russia wants.

.anyway ,, qcharlie's entire thing is loving devotion in its most raw fucked up form. codefippa could stab him in the heart and he would kneel down thinking she is knighting him for his service. everything he does is for her. that includes getting better (promising juanaflippa he would get his "rash" checked out during the day of the dead stream because she seemed worried) and getting worse (his entire talk with cellbit. the parallels of his code and the knife). he loves so strongly that it consumes him, quite literally. the loss and grief from his love consumed charlie so he created gegg as a last resort when nobody else would let him throw himself away in their name (foolish rejected the marriage, and mariana wouldn't log on. he was still staying by flippas grave day in and day out. charlie would be doing the same if flippas final words to him turned out different, but in his mind he needs to make it up to her. he needs to stay exiled. he cant return until he's paid the price and attoned for his misclick.) gegg was meant to be quackity's son and even then quackity wanted nothing to do with him. gegg was elquackity's kid more than anything and when gegg died elq was the only person charlie checked on. actually after geggdeath charlie nearly broke the cycle and found his hope again in the other eggs!! he met richarlyson and tallulah properly on his birthday and was given codeflippa as a gift at the very end. he is genuinely letting himself get consumed by the code just to keep her in his life <3 it's fucked up and bloody, pure raw grief and love at the same time manifesting as decay and rot through the code <3 <3 <3 i literally hate him so much it's insane <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

K, y’all. Can we talk about the abandonment issues Uzi may have?
(The info I’m about to share is just my thoughts on all this. I could be right on some parts, and I could be wrong. Again, I’m just sharing what I think based on stuff we’ve seen from the series. Anyways.)
What inspired me to make this was this very moment right here.
Tumblr media
“Are you like, gonna leave me?”
You can tell by her voice that she was scared. Scared that the only friend she’s ever had, the only friend that she’s made her whole life was going to leave her, and it certainly didn’t help that N and V got along well with the other students. Doing some activities together, having fun, playing around and stuff.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think seeing this, this was the starting point of that fear in this episode. (I’m a little certain that in general, this may go back as early as the first episode, but I’ll talk about that in a bit.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here’s that fear she shows after investigating a little bit in the cabin, watching her closest friend get along and interacting with her classmates, despite having been a literal killing machine. And to add salt to the wound, he did so in such a short time. Something that she herself has never really accomplished the whole time she’s been in school.
Some jealousy may also be shown because of this, as she was talking to V, who was also doing well interacting with her classmates.
Tumblr media
“Just.. so glad you guys fit right in. Suuuper cool.”
As we all know, Uzi certainly isn’t the most popular girl in school (which btw… relatable imo). In fact, Rebecca had said that she was “super unpopular” when she (well, the top half of her anyways, hehe) reunited with a few drones, whom I’m assuming are her friends.
Uzi doesn’t fit in. She’s like an outcast to her classmates. The “freak” of the bunch. She stands out from the rest of them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“… You freak us out.”
“But mostly bite me!”
(I’m sorry, I wanted to include that second part here, whether it was relevant or not pfbt. Anyways.)
And it’s not just her classmates that practically outcasted her. Hell, her own father left her to be murdered by the same kind of drone that took away his wife (well, technically, the same kind of drone that struck her with nanite acid, leading to him putting her out of her misery, according to himself from the pilot, but anyways). Now, he may have been too terrified to take action and save his own daughter, possibly reliving the trauma of what happened to Nori. He probably couldn’t fathom having to do the same thing he did to his wife to Uzi. But it still does not justify leaving her, his own daughter, for dead. That is a really shitty dad move there, Khan.
(Or I could be overthinking on that part, and Khan could just be a really shitty father, but anyways)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The way Uzi may have taken it, was that he prioritized his precious doors over her. Having put up more doors to keep himself, and everyone else in the bunker, safe from drones like N. She wasn’t important enough to be saved at the moment she needed him most. Her father- the one who’s supposed to have her back, no matter what happened, the one who’s supposed to protect her whenever things go from bad to worse- had left her to be killed by a murder drone. (Possibly, I’m just spitballin here)
Once this happened, Uzi now has no one she can really trust to stick with her, no one she can rely on for support. She has no friends, barely has family; her father isn’t much like a father to her at all, let’s be honest.
(I would say Thad is the only one she kinda had, but if I remember correctly, they barely knew each other to be considered close friends in the pilot. The only reason Thad knew Uzi (or knew of Uzi) was because she’s Khan’s daughter. That was it.)
(Another thing I wanna add is how neglectful as a father Khan has been, even before the pilot. Hell, the posters that we see can speak volumes of how their relationship is. Not to mention he’s never really spent much (if any) quality time with her, too busy focusing on his obsession with doors.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(One more thing to add: remember when Uzi told Thad one of the reasons she made her sick as hell railgun was to earn her father’s respect? …That’s just another point I wanna make about the infamous Doorman and how well he’s raised his daughter.) :)
So yeah, Uzi never really had anyone close to her in her life, meaning that she didn’t have anyone to trust, either.
Until this goober shows up.
Tumblr media
(Or more like, he was about to kill her until she blew his head off, but that’s not the point.)
Of course, we all know they didn’t become best friends right away. Because he’s a disassembly drone, and she’s a worker drone, and… yeah.
If it wasn’t for Khan backing away from the fight and closing the door on Uzi, Uzi probably would’ve been dead right then and there. N probably would’ve killed her and everyone else without much of a second thought. However!
Tumblr media
Considering how he told Uzi about V and J, he didn’t have the best relationship with either of them. (his crush on V seemed one-sided, at least in that flashback where V’s character was introduced? And J just straight up insulting him while stepping on him, and talking about how she’d kill him if she were allowed to.) He didn’t seem to have anyone to consider a friend either, at least mutually. For the longest time, it was just N, V, and J, doing their jobs, working together on killing the worker drones and such.
Then, what Uzi said to him about how the company treats the drones had created some doubts. N never questioned JCJenson and their motives until Uzi came along. And because of that, he almost died via a virus put in by J.
Then, after Uzi saves him from dying, and after they both stop V and J from killing the worker drones, N still stood by her side. N has never given her a reason not to trust him after that. He’s been with her the whole time after Uzi banished herself, and he’s never left her like the other drones have.
I’m thinking, after Uzi had banished herself from the colony, N could have left her on her own, he could’ve refused to let her go with him and V back to the landing pod, but he didn’t. (Not only because Uzi had encouraged him to look at the bigger picture, so to speak, but it also would’ve been out of character for N of all people (or robots in this case lol) to just deny her of joining the squad. He’s such a goddamn softy, let’s be real here.)
(Also, I wanna point out that from N’s perspective, she was the one who encouraged him to become an “angsty, rebellious disassembly drone” in the first place. If it wasn’t for her, he would never even question why they’re killing worker drones to begin with (other than to consume the oil for survival, of course). If it wasn’t for her, he’d still be out murdering. She was the one who respected him more than V or J ever did combined. (Well, in V’s case, this would be after her memories became messed up anyways. She did seem to like him when they were worker drones themselves.))
So yeah, this whole time, N has been the only one Uzi had ever really had throughout the series. N has been the only one that didn’t treat her like a freak, nor had insulted or threatened her in any way (lookin at you, V!). And most importantly, he was the only one that never left her at all. He stood by her side, he had her back, and she had his, and they stuck together, especially through the scary stuff.
So going back to episode 4, that was the first time since they’ve met that they were really separated. And the one time they weren’t with each other, Uzi had taken her solver form for the first time, and had killed her own classmates as a result.
Tumblr media
Had N been with her while she was investigating stuff, chances of Uzi taking her solver form happening probably would’ve been really low.
Hell, this whole thing probably happened because she was alone, because nobody was with her, and she didn’t want to be left alone again, and she was scared that she was going to be left alone again after seeing N interact with the other students!
TLDR: Uzi probably has abandonment issues, and was scared the only friend she has was going to leave her like everyone else had in her life.
I wanted to make a long rant about this because it’s been on my mind off and on for a while, especially after hearing Uzi’s voice when she asks N if he’s going to leave her (god that really hurts!), and as sucky as I am with words, I wanted to try anyways. Hope y’all enjoyed. 😁😅 (and now to end this on a lil lighter note, here’s an image of a robot huggy)

BNHA SPOILERS AS USUAL, KEEP MOVIN'
I have some extreme saltiness over something I've been seeing about Bakugou so like if you're an anti, don't bother interacting, but... I was wondering if anyone else has noticed...
Ok what's with the argument I'm seeing lately which is basically:
"Bakugou hardly did anything/he's barely trained/ He's not useful in this fight... Why should Edgeshot give his life to save him? Why make all this effort for Bakugou when he didn't make that much of a difference?"
Like ?? Do y'all hear yourselves with this??
You're equating Bakugou's "worthiness" of being revived/saved by the Heroes to his performance? The amount of DAMAGE he was able to do? To the fact that he was or was not "USEFUL" in the fight?
I'm sorry? But just because Shigaraki out did him, wasn't affected(which actually he was but that's not the point here) by his attacks? They just...should leave him there, dead?
They should just let that stand, without TRYING to perform any sort of rescue, resuscitation, without doing something that is CLEARLY WITHIN THEIR ABILITY TO DO?
Like argue all you want about the quality of their plan or how it was presented, but if you're arguing that, now having that context of a plan from Jeanist and Edge, now knowing that they decided this is their plan and something they think might work, that it's in their ability, that they should NOT implement that plan?
Because Katsuki didn't land enough of a hit on Shigaraki? Because he's not "of use to them?" Cause he didn't EARN IT?
Because he wasn't GOOD ENOUGH?
What in the fresh Hell is that take??
It's not about his ability or if he's EARNED it! It's about the fact that he's a human being, and a MINOR at that! He is their student! why should they NEGLECT to save him if they have a way to save him?? They're Heroes, this is kind of supposed to be their job??
Equate it to an EMT or a medically trained professional, would it not be UNETHICAL for such a person to break their Hippocratic Oath to not attempt to perform life-saving first aid?
You're missing all the points of this story.
Also if they didn't do everything they possibly could, Aizawa would probably throttle them himself...

what are your controversial wwx views? 👀 (asking as a fellow controversial wwx view-haver)
In the grand scheme of things I personally think my opinions are pretty lukewarm but I got a lot of shit a while back for making a post saying that it's important to acknowledge that wwx has privilege as a male cultivator member of the gentry and certified genius, and that that's important because even though he knows that his position in society is extremely tenuous and that so many people are willing to fight to force him to lose it, he still chooses to stand up for those even lower in society (in that post I was thinking specifically of the women in mdzs, particularly the brothel women because they're basically never considered). And then? A bunch of people started shittalking me because apparently wwx is the most underprivileged character in the story? And he's lower status than even the non cultivating sex workers because he was homeless as a kid?
I'm also neutral-positive on Jiang Cheng and made the great sin of making a completely neutral poll asking for people's opinions on him correlating with if they grew up with siblings and got a bunch of accusations of being a wwx anti, rigging the poll, and misrepresenting the answers (the results of which were completely even btw) based off . The fact I used a picture of grapes as the poll banner. Yeah . Wwx was never mentioned in the poll at all also. You can probably still find all that shit if you search my username, anons were just fully accidentally pinging me and everything, it's why I don't name search any more even though I know some people make posts based off my ideas but are afraid of pinging me (don't be btw!!! Please ping me 🥺🥺)
I actually really didn't like wwx in my first read-through of mdzs because I really related to teen lwj and felt very personally about the idea of overly pushy boundary breaking teenager attitudes, but I definitely grew to like him lol. I don't know how much that shows through in my posts, I think I've made a few comments about thinking that he was definitely a little bit of a dick as a teen but I don't know how controversial that is
So overall I'm sorry to disappoint, not very controversial opinions, but I've gotten so much grief for them anyways you'd think I posted some shit like wwx is my least favorite character in all of fiction 😵‍💫😵‍💫 there's probably more stuff that could be considered controversial but I'm so disconnected from mdzs fandom at this point that I don't really know what the general consensus is. I'd love to hear yours though!!!! Feel free to anon or message or whatever you feel comfortable with, I won't judge

Okay... so about that RadioTimes article
I was gonna make a post about this earlier and I didn't because I didn't feel like my thoughts were in a place that didn't come off as
Tumblr media
But I think I've got my thoughts somewhat together, so I'm just gonna drop my (admittedly unnecessary) two cents on the whole thing.
Tumblr media
"Imagined romance"
My question to whoever wrote this: have you watched the show and/or engaged with any other interviews involving cast/writers?
Not only is it (sometimes obvious) subtext in the show, but it's been confirmed by actors and writers alike. You don't even need to do much digging to find out about it. To me, it feels like it feeds too much into this idea that you can only have a romance if it's explicitly mentioned/shown through physical intimacy, which it doesn't! The show actually depicted a healthy, loving relationship between two beings without physical intimacy only for the fans to be publicly labelled as somewhat delusional for seeing it.
And then there's this bit...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(I'm saying this as a cishet female, so please jump in with corrections/added context if needed).
This made me feel incredibly weird when I first read this because the quote used didn't seem to be proving much of the point they were making. Putting aside the absurdity that is "resisted pressure to give in to the fan-fiction phenomenon", the fact that they immediately jump to using a quote about the characters' understanding of gender as proof of there being no romance feels so odd.
Am I just misinterpreting this whole section or something because the entire thing seems to be saying "Gaiman disproved the fans' delusion of an imaginary romance by confirming that neither Crowley nor Aziraphale understand the human concept of gender" as if the characters being gender non-conforming is proof that they aren't romantically involved?
Like, are we running with the idea that a romance can only be built between two people who each conform to a specific gender category? Someone please correct me if I'm wrong because I am genuinely baffled.
Or are they trying to say that they don't understand human concepts like gender and are therefore also unlikely to understand romance? (Edit: But even if they don't understand the concept of romance, surely that doesn't exclude them from experiencing those feelings). Or did they just pull a random quote that didn't quite work because there isn't actually one of Gaiman explicitly saying that there is no romantic connection?
Other than the last two paragraphs, I actually found the article to be quite interesting. But the end left a sour taste in my mouth.
On the plus side, we did get this gorgeous pic today. 🩵
Tumblr media
Like I said earlier, please add corrections or context if necessary. Or just drop your thoughts in general. I know people were taken aback a bit by the article and while I don't think there was malicious intent or anything by the writer, it feels misguided.
But enjoy the Ineffable Husbands sitting on a rock together because it's a gorgeous photo.

Some of the absolute bare minimum shit some of the women in my life have to put up with in their relationships is so depressing.
You're supposed to be a partnership. Stop taking on all the mental load. Stop doing all the cleaning. Stop doing all the cooking. You are both parents. The dad should be driving them to after school sports too. Have a conversation and expect better.
Genuinely serious when I say some of these women would be better off single. It'd be another person they no longer have to look after, cook for, clean for, plan for.

I love humans are space orcs type stuff, but sometimes people will make posts based on something exclusive to humans that's not exclusive to humans. And theres a certain amount I'm willing to suspend it, but when people base other planetary species off earth animals and then say "but yeah, they're amazed humans can survive under xyz because that's never happened before," while it's common in the earth animals their traits are based off of I just cant.
Part of it is that I find the amount humans have in common with other animals extremely interesting and want to see more of it in space traversing contexts. But part of it is just that the math is not mathing.
Like, I saw a post about aliens being horrified by humans drinking milk because they'd be lactose intolerant as adults like most animals are. To which I'd argue that it depends on the species, which is such an interesting thing to explore.
First off, theres an endless list that would differ from species to species on what they can or cant eat from earth. Maybe a common food on their planet contains lactose. Maybe lactose is a deadly poison to them. Maybe they do react like most other earth mammals and cant digest it.
Second, what if that species doesn't feed their young milk? They might have no knowledge of the concept and not react to it.
Third, what if they have an equivalent? Earth insects will farm other insects, maybe some space species will do the same.
There are also a lot of earth species who packbond, who can survive blind and or deaf, who are persistence hunters, who adopt other species, who can sense things others cant– it doesnt make sense to have that as a sudden oh my god thing, especially if theres a huge amount of space traversing species who have been doing so for centuries.
Obviously there are versions where these things being unique do make sense, but that always being the case is boring. In a society where people from different worlds are constantly interacting a more realistic response to the average voyager hearing somthing wierd would be, "oh, ick, okay," and then moving on.
