Doing a lot of thinking on troll sexuality lately and just based on the quadrant system there’s definitely troll sexuality’s that are different from human ones.
Starting this off I totally believe that there are gay/lesbian/straight etc trolls. The trolls live in a binormative society but there are definitely trolls that are only attracted to certain genders over others. HOWEVER I wonder if this can vary between quadrants. Like what if there is a troll that is only interested in matespritship with women, but will only enter a kismisis or moirail relationship with men.
Maybe aromanticism is the same way. While there certainly are trolls that are aromantic regardless of the quadrant, maybe there are some that are only aromantic towards redrom or blackrom and do feel attraction towards people in other quadrants.
ALSO POLYAMORY!!! Trolls are polyamorous from human standards, but there are also probably trolls who are polyamorous in certain quadrants as well (having multiple kismesis/matesprits/moirails/being an auspice to multiple kismesis or having multiple auspice). And there are probably monogomous/love beyond quadrants trolls too, like Signless and the Disciple, which in troll society would be seen as abnormal.

Ayy, it's another zero grist recipe!
The SORD..... also cost zero grist, but it was in a different denomination. Is there a difference between these recipes, or are they equivalent?
Maybe you need to have seen the grist denomination in question. Perhaps, if she hadn't encountered that gem before, Jade would be looking at an unusable question-mark recipe.

I never expected Eridan to endear himself to me this Act, but I am mildly impressed that he's actually more of a prick when talking to the humans.

Presumably he's using needlekind now, like our other spellcaster.
Where did he get needlekind, actually? None of the other trolls use it, which I guess implies he picked it up from an Underling, like John did with bunnykind. If this game has been holding out on showing us magic-wielding Imps, I'm going to be pissed.
So Eridan is a 'wizard of science', which makes it sound like he's wielding his wand in defiance of magic. Perhaps he's channeling his skepticism into some sort of antimagic, which might actually become a problem. Sburb - no matter what anyone else says - runs on magic.

Been needing to get this off my chest for a while. Sorry for the wall of text.
Being a hater for any of the female hs characters is a huge red flag to me. You dont have to like EVERY female character, but being a HATER is very sus. i feel like there is not a single female character that is worse than the worst male character. There isnt even a single female character more ANNOYING than the most annoying male character (especially since most of the male characters are kinda insufferable tbh). Beta girls? So fun and cool. Beta troll girls? I can’t think of a single one i dont at least have begrudging respect for (fef is my least favorite but even she is still pretty cool conceptually imo). Roxy? Her interactions with Callie are so cute and she’s just such a fun character in general. She was the highlight of the alpha kids section for me. Jane? she’s on fef level for me. I appreciate her story even if I don’t really vibe with her. Dancestor girls? Not my favorite bunch of characters in general but i cant think of a single female character i dislike out of them apart from meenah or Aranea, but that’s probably because they had the most screen-time.
A lot of the male characters are either groomers (doc scratch), pedos/otherwise disgusting and annoying (Cronus), hussie (hussie) or just plain boring (most of the male dancestors). I’m not saying I dont like ANY of the male characters. John and Dave are probably my favorite characters in homestuck! I just feel like male characters are given SO MUCH more grace to be annoying and shitty and ANNOYING. Like goddamn. Not to yuck anyone’s yums but I’ll never understand any hate on any of the female characters when the amporas exist. I cant think of a single enjoyable trait or moment that eridan had and Cronus is fucking CRONUS ARE YOU KIDDING ME?????!? AND YET they both still have so many fans and I hardly see any posts tearing into them like people have torn into vriska or Jane like DID WE READ THE SAME COMIC?!?!
I’ve NEVER seen ANY male character get hated on as vehemently as ive seen female characters get hated on. If you are a hater of any of the female characters then i do not trust you.

Feferi may actually be the one to introduce you to him.
Eridan notices she's been chatting up this female human recently and is a bit bothered by it.
When he asks, Feferi takes this as interest.
As a result the fuchsiablood gushes about you and how you two are friends.

Reluctantly, Eridan listens to her and gives it a shot.
He begins to talk to you through the chat client because Feferi urged him to.
He'd normally not bother because humans are land dwellers and just won't understand him.
Although it appears you and Feferi understand each other....
Eridan would be a troll that would take time before he feels comfortable with a human obsession.
An example of a troll who'd have the same issue is Karkat.
He tries to be considerate and understand you to appease Feferi, who he's having relationship trouble with.
By the time Eridan meets you in person he's grown invested in you and your journey.
He's impressed you reach God-Tier, he's actually a bit envious.
You've actually been a way he's been recovering from his falling out with Feferi.
He never would've thought it possible but he's actually considering a quadrant with a human.
He actually finds himself excited at the idea of meeting this female human.
When you eventually get to the meteor he even gets a bit upset that he's not the first troll you come to greet.
Of course you go to see Feferi first.
Although, while both flushed and pale quadrants didn't work with Feferi, she still introduces you to him.
Perhaps in an attempt to heal his broken bloodpumper or something.

He mentally face palms when he stutters in front of you.
At first, Eridan would try to keep up his usual personality.
He's dramatic and sometimes acts like he's better than you.
He tunes it down when he realizes he's losing your interest, however.
The two trolls you talk to the most are actually Feferi and Eridan.
Eridan understands that you've met her first... yet he wishes you'd spend more time with him-
Naturally, your conversations tend to dip into more personal territory.
Eridan asks about you and what exactly makes female humans different from males.
This is due to the fact reproduction with trolls doesn't really take the gender into account.
You also ask about this "quadrant" thing he brings up frequently.
It's expected with Eridan that he often vents about relationship issues.
You try to listen to him bur sometimes you need a break.
Feferi tends to give advice on how to deal with him.
Eridan struggles with how to admit he's into you.
He isn't sure what to say?
He's rebounding from Feferi and wants to fill his quadrants....
Yet he's unsure how to tell a human he wants you in his flushed quadrant.
He guesses it would be similar to a human "boyfriend" while you'd be his human "girlfriend" but he's a bit nervous.
Eridan can be a bit of a creep when he scopes out how to tell you.
Some may notice him following you around and watching you.
Others notice him silently seething when you talk to other trolls.
He's even tried to suggest dueling to win you over.
He's... a bit bloodthirsty.
It takes a lot out of him to finally tell you what he wants with you.
"look, i knoww you're a human but i'vve been thinking.... did you possibly wwant to be my matesprit? y'knoww... my red lovve? don't laugh it's taken me forevver to ask you because you're a human!"
If you reject him then he'll just be a pain.
He'll pester you, he'll get aggressive with trying to show you he loves you.
He's clingy and pleads with you to give him a chance.
He'll stop being so stuck up! Please just give him a chance!
He's desperate....
If you say yes then you still get barely any time alone.
Eridan's ecstatic that you said yes to being his Matesprit.
Any other human he finds to be not his type.
When it comes to you? He slams into you to have your attention.
Feferi is happy that Eridan has found someone, even if it is her cute human friend, although he seems to be very clingy as usual.
Any past feelings for Feferi is mostly forgotten as Eridan prefers to look for you.
At first he was reluctant to like a human, one not even part of the bloodcaste or aquatic in nature.
Now he doesn't care, someone likes him.
Even if you rejected him he'd somehow force you into it.
In private he's affectionate.
In public he acts like he doesn't want you to shower him in affection, still trying to keep up his ego.
Private? Hugs, kissing, nipping, nuzzling, you name it.
He'd do anything for you.
Eridan admittedly wants to explore you in any way he can, as intimate as that sounds....
For being a prince, if you say just the right thing he's bratty putty in your hands.
He acts like he's tough but in reality he's just happy you're paying attention to him, one way or another (even with a bit of force).
Eridan would be one to decorate you in his sign and color like some Highbloods.
It's a way to show you're his and gives him an ego boost.
He's possessive and other than violence displaying his color on your keeps you as his in his mind.
Feferi begins to feel bad when she sees you covered in Eridan's symbol.
He's taken this Matesprit thing a bit too far... like he fears to lose you.
You're God-Tier unlike him so you can keep him in his place if he decides to try and kill another troll for you, like Feferi.
Although, like some pathetic yanderes, you may just feel bad?
Eridan has so many issues when it comes to relationships.
After losing Feferi you one way or another gave him a chance.
Now you have a clingy troll who refuses to let you go.
Overall, Eridan would be hesitant to engage with a human obsession due to his ego...
Although once he catches flushed feelings... he just can't get enough of you despite his ego.

Hello. Can I request Kankri, Cronus, Eridan and Karkat with a female human moiral who is always sleepy and near narcoleptic?
She speaks calmly, slowly, is never angry, has droppy eyes, yawn often and has the tendency to fall asleep on them (even during the trolls speech/rant).
It can be annoying, but she's so nice and cute that they don't have the heart to be angry at her.

Okay, so I get that I think Tamsyn has said that while you can draw some clear parallels (Gideon is Female Dave, Harrow is Rose, Ianthe is Vriska), obviously Homestuck and TLT aren't one to one, in the same way that the two other big Would Not Exist Without Homestuck pieces of media, Kill Six Billion Demons and Undertale/Deltarune aren't one to one with it either.
That being said. I would like to submit. Isaac is Tavros.

i don't really see it but let me counter with:
babs is the tavros. obviously i've posted before about how his personality/aesthetic is similar to cronus ampora, but if you think about his relationship with ianthe, i feel like there's definitely some similarities to tavros and vriska.
now ianthe "being a vriska" is something i have a LOT of thoughts about, which i will. probably write out at some point. mainly, while they share surface level plot points and arm deficits, their motivations are very different. i've been holding off tho bc there's a lot we still don't know abt ianthe's motivations while the series is still unfinished. but in general, vriska is a child who has no idea what she's doing and just wants to be safe (although she thinks she wants to be important - and she does, but because she thinks that if she matters enough, she'll stop being vulnerable, both emotionally and physically), whereas ianthe clearly has some actual irons in the fire. (given what little we know about the tridentarii's parents and childhood, i could 100% see ianthe trying to protect herself in a similar way, but we just don't know enough to be sure.)
but to compare babs and tavros:
both the "some guy" wedged in between some very toxically codependent girlies
both killed (run through) with their own weapon by their counterpart in a mysterious facility during a very tense afternoon
you can't tell me that if it was relevant, vriska wouldn't be happy to chew on tavros (use his body for what she's trying to do)
both an intimate part of their counterpart's ascension, in opposite ways
that last point is the most interesting to me, because vriska's ascension involved her own death and ianthe's ascension involved babs's. vriska begged tavros to kill her, and he would not, leaving her to die alone and in pain, whereas ianthe had no qualms about killing babs. as we learn in the unwanted guest, babs's soul has had an effect on ianthe's - they are fusing, in a sense. compare that to the very brief existence of tavrissprite, whose constituent parts could not reconcile and merge. in the end, vriska has always been both obsessed and disgusted with tavros because the world has allowed him to be soft, and kind, and nonviolent - all things that she was never given the chance to be. whereas for ianthe and babs, they have always been fighting side by side, concealing corona's secret and managing third house high society.
so essentially, babs is a tavros who has been strong and active enough to both protect and support his counterpart. while ianthe killed babs because she needed power for whatever she has planned, and she is always going to prioritize coronabeth over anything and anyone else, she had no real beef with him and saw him as, if not an ally, then at least a means to an end whom she didn't mind being bitchy with in the meantime. meanwhile vriska killed tavros not out of necessity or duress, but because he had betrayed and abandoned her at her moment of greatest need and vulnerability, and then decided to be her enemy.
to be honest you didn't ask for any of this longass response lol but to be honester its my blog and i get to rant about vriska if i want 😌 i'd be interested to hear your case for why isaac reminds you of tavros tho! bc i seriously do not see it at this point lmao

homestuck fandom amazes me let’s see what is on the list for today
-toxic people telling you to die for not liking a ship
-calling you lesbphobic for shipping rose with a male even tho it was never said she was a canon lesbian
-getting mad at you when you ship a female character who is canon sexist with a male without knowing that not every sexist woman is toxic to men and don’t always suffer trauma from a man
-think rape and abuse jokes are funny
-call you sensitive over a “joke”
-tries to tell you how romanticizing/normalizing pedophilia incest and abusive relationships are okay because “love is love and we shouldn’t judge who people want to date”
-see nothing wrong with vriska being an abuser because “women are all so sweet cute and innocent”
-see nothing wrong with dave abusing karkat in homestuck2 because “lgbtqia+ people aren’t bad they’re all nice people it’s only the straight and cisgender people that are bad and evil”
am I missing anything else? feel free to add on
Nu-fans forgive Eridan Ampora because of the dumb gender arc, despite people had hated him for being racist and wanting quadrants filled.
2. Would even go after another trans who disagree about June Egbert.
3. Backpedals on Meenah being black coded, since in a timeline that she would become The Condesce, the main villain, they get scared that it would imply black people are evil and racist. Same applies to fanart of human Eridan is mostly drawn to be white by fans. They never make him a darker shade because of his character.
4. One could even say they subconsciously enforce racial stereotypes for some in the guise of progressiveness. Ex: Kanaya Maryam being headcanon Muslim.
5. Nu-fans try to justify on Rose's infidelity and that it was okay for Kanaya to be cheated on. Be it claiming it's still a healthy poly relationship that Kanaya "consented" them having their secret child for 15 years or since Space Player destined to be alone, this is her arc for independency away from Rose. They are ignoring the fact that most people in WhatPumpkin actually hate Rosemary.
6. Cherry pick certain facts from book commentaries that Andrew Hussie made. They would be fine to accept that Davekat was "planned" all along and that Eridan Ampora was the proto-Caliborn, but ignore about Doomed Dave and Doomed Rose having fucked each other.
7. Nu-fans disliking people for drawing the characters as they are and not the popular fanon interpretation.
There is a lot more, but I definitely want to see people in the replies or reblogs about other messed up stuff that happens in Homestuck fandom. It's okay to point out the hypocrisy or flaws within the series and fandom.
Though I would disagree about Homestuck fans thinking incest and pedophilia ships are okay. I mean, they used to be fine with all ships because it is fictional, but now? They hate it so much that they have to equate it with reality. If anything, I would say creeps and groomers could be around for Homestuck fandom. I remember it happened to Vast Error, but that's a different mess in itself.
