Lynn let out a tired sigh and throw herself in the sofa.
"I'm so tired..." The young Dutch said, her voice muffled because her face was pressed in the cushion.
Y/N laughed, letting her suitcase to aside and going to the patio, where a big pool was in the center. She saw how the sun was to hide behind the sea.
"Nice views." Lena said behind Y/N. This one turned around, seeing Lena and Jill there. The German had a playful smile in her face. The blonde rolled her eyes, shaking her head when saw Y/N looks at them with confusion.
"She is an idiot." Jill simply said, going to her side and passing her left arm for Y/N's shoulders. Lena snorted from behind. "Shut up, Oberdof." The Dutch looked at her briefly, muttering.
Jill saw how Lena raised her hands, smirking. "I'm going to help Sofie with her suitcase." The young German let them know, giving a knowing smirk to the blonde.
"Do you think that they will made a move in this lovely island?" Y/N asked, doing gestures with her hands.
Jill laughs, looking at her. "I'll hope so. Lena is getting insoportable talking about her nonstop." She muttered, not wanting that the other three heard her, especially Sofie and Lena.
Y/N chuckle softly. "Well, we have a week to discover."
"By the way, remember me tomorrow call Merel. She talked about going with her in a boat." Jill commented, looking the last rays of the sun.
"Okay." Y/N said, looking too where Jill is looking.
Lynn went outside, finding the pair stood up there, she rolled her eyes. It will be the week more long and painful to watch four people who like each other and not doing any move.
"We need go to the supermarket before it closed." Lynn said, putting herself at the other side of Y/N, leaning her head between her shoulder and Jill's arm.
"I'm going. Who want come too?" Y/N offered, asking for help too.
"I'm going too. Let Jill and the other two choose the bedrooms." Lynn offered before the other Dutch.
"But I want to go too." Jill complained, making a pout. Y/N looked at her and raising a hand to her cheeks, she pinched it softly. "Stop." The blonde said, laughing.
"Dit is al pijnlijk om te ziem..." Lynn muttered. Y/N looked at her confused. But Jill understood her perfectly, so she hit her head softly. The young defender raised her hand to where Jill hit her, a pout in her face.
"Jill!" Y/N scolded her, turning fully to Lynn and hugging her.
The blonde rolled her eyes watching how Lynn was giving her a smug smile. Jill removed her arm from Y/N's shoulders.
"She is annoying, Y/N! She deserved that." Jill whined, crossing her arms, not liking how Lynn was teasing her while she hides her head in Y/N's neck.
"Everybody here it's annoying. That didn't mean that we need hit each other." Y/N point out, separating from the hug with Lynn.
Jill saw the look on Y/N's face, knowing very well how that look means. "Nop, no way. I'm not going to apologies." The blonde said indignant.
"Okay. Lynn let's go." Y/N simply said, going inside of the big house.
Jill looked the way Y/N walked with her mouth open. "Close your mouth Jilly." Lynn comments when she passed for her side.
"Ik haat je." The blonde said to Lynn, who laughs hard.
•••
Y/N drove to the supermarket with Lynn in the co-pilot seat.
"So... When are you telling her you like?" The young Dutch asks curious. Lynn was carrying the cart.
Y/N looked at her frowning.
"Not give me that look, you know what I'm talking about. I saw you give her heart eyes everytime she is around you." The brunette said, rolling her eyes playfully.
"I don't say anything because it's not true." Y/N said, blushing while she approachs a food shelf.
Lynn sighed, but stayed quiet. She let her friend alone, for now.
"Well... What about Sofie and Lena?" This topic made Y/N smile, turning towards her.
"They need date in this week." Y/N states, putting something inside of the cart.
"I agree." Lynn muttered, already planning something in her mind, not only for Lena and Sofie, if not for Jill and Y/N too.
They buy the food they need for a few days, mainly for the mornings, since they want has lunch and dinner outside, and come back to the house, now with the sky more dark.
"Hello babies! We are here." Lynn exclaimed getting inside of the house, two bags in each hand. Y/N followed behind, carrying a pack of water bottles and milk.
"Let me help you." Lena approached Y/N, grabbing the water.
"Thanks, Len." Y/N smiled, following her to the kitchen.
"What about me, Lena? I don't deserve your help?" Lynn complained, letting the bags on the floor.
Lena rolled her eyes, Y/N laughed when she saw Lena made a face of 'here we go again' towards hers.
"When I came downstairs you are already in the kitchen. Don't start please." The German said, starting to save what was inside the bags.
"I'm sorry you had to go with her, Y/N/N." Sofie approached in the kitchen, teasing Lynn.
The young Dutch made an indignant face. "Shut up. I'm better than all of you." She muttered. "Less Y/N, she always protect me from all of you."
Sofie passed an arm for Y/N's shoulders. "Actually you are lucky to have her..." The Danish girl started said. "Because the contrary, I don't know what would happened."
Lynn opened her mouth, surprised. "Are you threatening me?"
"You know I'm joking right?" Sofie asked at her, still with her arm around Y/N.
Lynn looked at her unsure.
"I'm going to sleep with Y/N. I don't trust you." At this, Y/N and Sofie laugh.
"Let her alone." Jill came to the kitchen. Y/N looked at her and saw that her hair was wet, so she assumed that she takes a shower while Lynn and hers were outside.
Lynn looked at her, throwing an apple towards her. Jill grabs it easily, taking a bite later.
"What? Are you jealous if I sleep with her?" The young Dutch teased her.
Sofie snorted, Y/N looks at her, raising an eyebrow.
"Nothing." Sofie hummed, going to where Lena is.
"Before you started, stop. Jill, she is trying to tease you." Y/N intervened, going to where her friend blonde is.
"You have very lucky to have her." When Jill's said it, Lynn, Lena and Sofie laughed hard. The Dutch looked at them confused.
"Sofie said that just before you came." Y/N explained smiling.
Jill smiled, giving another bite to the apple.
"Since Lynn and me go to the supermarket, you three will decide who do the dinner." Y/N said, going to the living room while she heard who they stopped laugh, less Lynn, who went with Y/N when the other three looked at her serious.
"You will be good if I'm going to shower?" Y/N asked at her after the young player followed her upstairs.
Lynn looked at her with a scared look, Y/N snorted.
"C'mon Lynn, I let you chose the other two free bedrooms." Y/N proposed.
When they decided in what room they will are, Y/N went to the bathroom letting in her bedroom Lynn, who refused to go downstairs without her.
•••
Once Y/N finished, she went to her bedroom and was Lynn's turn to go shower.
She puts her pajamas and went downstairs, finding in the living room Sofie and Jill, both of them in their phones. Y/N rolled her eyes.
"So... What say Instagram?" Y/N asks at them, laying next to Jill, leaning her head in her shoulder.
"Not too much. But a lot of us was here, in Ibiza." Jill muttered, leaning her head in hers while she still scroll for the app.
Y/N knew that some teammates from her national team are here, like Leila, Vir, Alexia, Jenni, Nerea... Others chose Menorca.
"Well, it's the more close of paradise we had before the Euro. It will be fun, I think." Y/N comments, snorting smugly.
"Tinder Ibiza." Jill muttered. Y/N laughs, nodding with her head, agreeing with her.
"Basically." Y/N joked too.
They stayed like that, Y/N seeing Jill scroll for Instagram while they wait for Lena to finish dinner. Y/N was letting herself sleep when Lena and Lynn approached the living room at the same time.
"Just in time! Lynn, put the cutlery and cups, please." The German said. Lynn did what Lena said and going to the backyard, she began to put things in the table.
"Are you sleeping?" Jill asked softly.
Y/N shakes her head slowly, making Jill chuckle.
"Let's go to the backyard. Lena finished dinner." The blonde whispered, kissing her head lovingly.
Y/N opened her eyes slowly. She yawned and stood up. Jill followed her, guiding her with her arm around her shoulders. They saw Lena putting a bowl of pasta while Lynn was sitting in a chair.
They sat down and started eat. A lot of teasing from Lena and Jill towards Lynn, this last one didn't care too much because she did it to them too. While Sofie and Y/N talked about the Danish living in Madrid.
After dinner, they cleared the table and Y/N offered to wash the dishes, with the help of Sofie. Then they come back to the backyard where the other are talking, better said, bickering about what would happen in the Euro.
Y/N sat down where she was before, next to Lena. She notices something while Sofie joined the conversation. She let out a snort, the other four looked at her.
"Sorry. I just noticed that we look like a joke. Two Dutch, a German, a Danish and a Spanish. It's funny." Y/N said while she was laughing. Lena snorted by her side, biting her lower lip while she shakes her head. Lynn and Sofie laughed while Jill looked at her funnily.
"You have right! But this two will win the Euros." Lynn said smugly.
Y/N snorted. "Actually that's a good joke." Y/N teased Lynn, letting a laugh when the Lynn and Jill looked at her with a raised eyebrow.
At this, Lena laughed hard, clapping with her hands. Y/N looked at her a little surprised, it was the first time she saw Lena like that.
"It's not that funny Lena. I could do the same when Spain beat Germany." Lynn said, crossing her arms about her chest.
Lena snorted.
"I just realized other thing." Sofie said. "Lena, Y/N and I will be see each other in group stage."
"You have right. Two reasons to hate them if you lose." Jill hummed, smirking towards Lena and Y/N.
"Ha ha ha. I say it to you when you don't pass from the group stage." Y/N teased Jill, bumping her fist with Lena. The blonde rolled her eyes, showing them her middle finger.
"But not seriously. What national team could win the Euro." The Danish said. "If Denmark wasn't win, I'll hope Sweden or Spain win it." Sofie gave her options.
"Woah, thank you Sof. It's mean a lot." Lena feigned been hurt. Sofie rolled her eyes, but smiled. "If Germany wasn't win... I guess Spain deserve it. So I choose Spain." The German said, shrugging her shoulders.
"Take off that smile, Y/L/N." Lynn said. "I don't want give hopes, because clearly the Netherlands will win." At this, Lena, Sofie and Y/N snorted at the same time. "But I choose... Germany."
Lena smiled, bumping their fist together.
"What about you?" The Real Madrid player asked at Y/N, interested.
"I'm not gonna lie. I think Spain have a lot of chances to win, but it's football. So... I saw England could give a surprise. I saw them play well this last month. And my other option it's Sweden. They are good and deserve win." Y/N said honestly. Sofie smiled when she heard that one of her options was the same she has also chosen.
"Jill." Lena simply said.
The mentioned made a grimace with her mouth. "Netherlands."
The others let out a laugh when Jill said it.
"Come on, Jilly." Y/N said, pouting at her direction.
Jill rolled her eyes. "Netherlands, Spain and England." Y/N smiled when she heard that Jill mentioned her country.
"Of course you said Spain." Lena mumbled. Then, she let out a hiss. "It's a joke. Jesus."
Y/N stood up, stretching her arms. "Well, girls. I'm going to sleep, I can't anymore." She said, kissing Lena cheek. Then she approached Lynn and kissed her cheek too, doing the same with Sofie.
"I accompany you. I'm going to sleep too." Jill said sleepily. Y/N nods, hugging her. The blonde passed her arms for her shoulders, hugging her too.
"Where is my goodnight kiss?" Lynn asked Jill.
Lena and Sofie laughed while they saw Jill showed her middle finger to their friend.
•••
The next day, they wake up and had breakfast. Y/N reminded Jill that she had to call Merel. The blonde nodded and when she finished breakfast, she called her friend. Y/N stood up to take her empty plate to the kitchen, washing it.
"Merel said that they are there now. So, we need going." Jill approached in the kitchen with her empty plate and glass. Y/N took the opportunity to scrub them since she was scrubbing her own. "You don't have to do it." The blonde said, sighing.
"I was scrubbing, I don't care scrub a little more." Y/N said, shaking her fingers with foam towards Jill.
The Dutch smiled and kissed her cheek. "Thank you." She whispered.
Y/N blushed a little. "Have you warned the girls?" She asks, hoping Jill didn't notice her blush.
"Yeah. Sofie and Lena are going later, they want do some sightseeing." Jill let her know. Y/N looked at her raising an eyebrow. Jill bite her lower lip, smiling. "I know. But I don't say anything, I let that to Lynn."
Y/N laughed, wiping her hands in the towel.
"Well, I'm going to save some things. I won't be long." Y/N said to Jill, who was leaning her back in the counter.
"Okay. Save Lynn from Lena then." Jill joked, following her until the living room.
Y/N saw how Lena followed Lynn running behind her. She rolled her eyes, and went to the backyard, where Lynn had just left.
"Lena, please!" Y/N begged at her friend, running to the German to stop her.
"I let her when I throw her in the pool." The Wolfsburg player mumbled, her cheeks red.
"Why don't you shut up?" Y/N scolded at her Dutch friend, who was running away and hiding behind Jill.
"Is superior to me!" Lynn exclaimed. Jill get out when Lynn hides behind her, making the young whine.
At that moment, Sofie dressed up, approached the backyard. She crossed her arms and when Lena have cornered Lynn, Sofie puts herself in the middle. Y/N let out a relief sigh.
"C'mon Len. We need to go." The Danish defender said, pushing softly to the other direction. When the dark haired girl gave Lynn one last look, Sofie showed her middle finger to Lynn, smiling sarcastically.
"Why that?!" Lynn said pouting, going next to Y/N.
"Because you are so fucking annoying." Sofie hummed, waving with her hand while she deposited a kiss in Jill's cheek.
Y/N turned to look at Lynn, who turned towards her still pouting. "Para de molestar a la gente." She warned her in Spanish, knowing very well that Lynn understood her. The Dutch nods slowly. "Because when it happened to you, you will understand them." Y/N said, patting her shoulder and going inside.
"Ze vangt je daar." Jill approached her friend, passing an arm around her shoulders while she looked for where did Y/N go.
Lynn turned towards her, raising an eyebrow. "Just like you." The blonde looked at her while she roll her eyes.
"Go for your things, idioot." Jill ordered, pushing her towards the house.
Jill went inside too and waited for them. Y/N is the first in approach, she was typing something in her phone. She let out a laugh before she blocked it.
"It was Ona. She sent me her typical morning meme." Y/N explained when Jill looked at her raising her eyebrows.
Lynn ran down the stairs, bumping into Y/N's back. Y/N let out a hiss, frowning. "Why are you there?" The young Dutch asked confused.
Y/N looked at her, still frowning. "Why are you ran down the stairs?" Lynn blushed, scratching her neck while shrugged her shoulders.
Jill snorted.
"Let's go. We are getting late." Lynn muttered, going to the front door.
Y/N followed, grabbing the car keys. She unblock the car, seeing Lynn sat down in the co-pilot seat. Y/N puts her things in the trunk, letting it open for Jill. Then she went to sat down to the driver's seat, hearing the song that Lynn puts in the radio. She turned to look at her friend, still remained an intense red in her cheeks.
"Are you okay?" Y/N asked her softly, putting her right hand in her knee.
The Dutch looked at her, nodding with her head, biting her lower lip.
"Why are you sitting there?" Jill asked Lynn when she sat down in the back seat.
"Because I got there first." Lynn said, turning to look at her and smile smugly.
Y/N took off her hand from her knee and shaking her head for, the now common, reaction from her friend.
She started the car and drove to the dock parking lot. They get out from the car and when they grabbed their things, started walk to the boat where Merel is.
"¡Ahí está mi española favorita!" Merel exclaimed when she saw them, Y/N smiled widely. When they went up, Merel immediately hugs her.
"Gracias amor mío." Ana said next to them, Merel's fiancée. Y/N laughed, separating from the hug with Merel and hugging her.
"No te pongas celosa. Que solo tiene ojos para ti." Y/N said playfully. When they separated, Ana wiggles her eyebrows, signaling towards her blonde friend. "No empieces..." Y/N muttered, blushing.
Ana raised her hands, smiling. Lynn approached and hug Ana, Jill doing the same when Lynn separated.
"Do you already know some Spanish?" The old Spanish asks them.
Jill blushed a little while Lynn nods happily.
"I understand more than I speak." The young Dutch said, passing her arm for Y/N's shoulders.
"What about you?" Merel asks at the blonde, passing her arm too for her shoulders.
"Just like Lynn..." Jill admitted, biting her lower lip.
"Damn Y/N! You need teach them better." Merel joked.
"They are unruly students. It's not my fault." Y/N defended herself. Ana and Merel laughed at her antics.
"We have a surprise for you." Ana hummed, pointing to Y/N. This one frown, already surprised.
"What surprise?" Y/N asks, intrigued.
"Turn around." Merel said, smiling.
She does what Merel said and saw Nerea there, with Gemma and her girlfriend. Y/N opened her eyes, really surprised.
"¿Qué haces aquí?" Y/N asks her while she ran towards her, jumping to her arms. Nerea laughs.
"Well, it would be more weird if we don't see each other." Nerea answers, hugging her back.
When they separated, Y/N hugs Gemma and the other girl. "Sorry, girls. I think you knew who are they." She said to Jill and Lynn, pointing with her finger Nerea and Gemma. Then she introduced Gemma's girlfriend.
"This will be interesting..." Ana comments at Lynn and Merel, watching how Jill clenched her jaw.
Lynn smiled mischievous.
"It is..." The young Dutch agreed.
•••
The hours passed and them all has having fun. Well, there is a person probably didn't have much fun, and the constant tease from someone else didn't help.
They went to lunch and after Sofie and Lena joined them.
Y/N, without knowing it, she passed her time with Nerea, since they are great friends and know each other from a long time. And since they played in different teams and in a different country, so they saw little. In a chill moment of silence while they tanned, Y/N saw how Jill and Merel are whispering. Jill was frowning while she whispered aggressively and doing gestures with her hands. Then Lynn approached in her vision, smiling innocently.
"What do you want?" Y/N asks at her knowing very well that her friend wants something.
"Swim with me..." Lynn said while she pouted. Y/N heard Nerea laughs softly, she looked at her, seeing how her friend nods.
"Let's go." Y/N said, standing up. She walked to the stairs, Lynn following her. But while Y/N went down the stairs, Lynn jumped from above, splashing Y/N.
"Lynn! Never do it again, do you heard me?" Merel scolded from above the young when her head came out of the water. Lynn raised her thumb towards Merel.
"She is bored..." Lynn complained, approaching Y/N.
"She is worried. Because you don't think." Y/N corrected her. Lynn rolled her eyes, but stayed quiet.
"It's everything okay with Jill?" Y/N asked out of the blue, after swimming a little.
Lynn looked at her, seeing that her friend was actually worried. She decided say the truth.
"She is jealous." Lynn muttered. Y/N frown. "She likes you and watching you and Nerea pass time and hugging a lot don't help." She confessed.
Y/N could believe what she was hearing.
"Nerea and I are just friends. I met her since I have sixteen." Y/N muttered too.
"I know she is just your friend. But what would you think if you watch your crush hugging another person? Even if you knew it's just friends." The defender asks her. Y/N thought about it and if Jill was hugging another person, even if just her friend, probably Y/N would be jealous, really jealous.
Y/N looked at Lynn biting her lower lip, doubtful. The Dutch understand that gesture and smiled, side hugging her.
"I have a plan." She hummed in her ear, Y/N with confusion asked her with a move of her head. "We are going to make Jill jealous." Lynn explained.
Y/N opened her mouth, processing the information.
"Do you want to die young?" Y/N asked really confused. Lynn snorted hard, laughing.
"If my friends started date, yeah, why not." The Dutch said, swimming to the boat.
"Lynn, wait!" Y/N yelled, swimming behind her.
The girl waited in the stairs, smiling playfully. "Don't worry, I don't start until this night." She let Y/N know. Before Y/N could complain, she went up the stairs, laughing mischievously.
Y/N went up the stairs too, ready to speak with Lynn seriously, but she saw that her friend went directly towards Lena and Nerea, who were talking. So with a sigh, she decided go to where Jill is laying, tanning herself.
"Hey..." Y/N greeted her shyly. She layed next to her, where there is a towel, probably from Merel.
Jill opened her eyes, putting a hand in her forehead to cover the sun and see better.
"Hi..." The blonde greeted her too, biting the inside of the cheek.
Y/N saw how Jill closed her eyes again and she decided wet her arm with her hair, drops falling from the end of her hair. A smile approached on Jill's face, opening her eyes and looking at her.
"Sorry." Y/N inevitably apologized, giving her a lipped smile. Jill frown.
"Why do you apologie?" Jill whispered, confused.
Y/N shrugged her shoulders, blushing. "I don't know." She said, lying a little, because she apologized for pass time with Nerea and not with her or the others.
"Come here..." The Dutch said, opening her arms. Y/N happily accept, laying in her arms. "You are wet and I'm hot, so I guess that's cool." Y/N laughs hard when she heard Jill say it. She raised her head and saw Jill's cheeks red, but she was smiling. "You are worse than Lynn."
"Come on... It is to think badly." Y/N point out, laying her head in her shoulder.
Jill just puts her arm around her waist, caressing it softly.
"Y/N? Your phone don't stop ring! Please, take it. It's annoying." Sofie called her friend, walking to where they are and giving her phone to her.
Y/N thanked her. She puts face up, still in the embrace with Jill. She unblock it, seeing a lot of text messages from the national team group chat. She frowned, usually there is always messages, but not too much. She pressed the group chat.

Jill shakes her head, looking at her. "It's not your fault. Don't apologies." She whispered.
Her phone vibrate in her hands, making Y/N break their gazes. She saw Ona's name approachs in her screen, Y/N rolled her eyes.
"What?" Y/N answered the call, already rolling her eyes knowing what's waiting her.
"Hiiii! How are you? I'm good, thanks." The Catalan said sarcastically. "Buuuuuut... You have right, direct to the point. What happened?" Ona asks directly.

Ona let out a sigh, totally believing her. "Nerea uploaded a story video in Instagram where there appears your friend." She explained everything.
Y/N smiled towards Jill and made a signal with her head, letting her know that she will talk in another part. The blonde nodded.
"Well... It's a simple video." Y/N said calmly, approaching the barrier of the boat, leaning her elbows there.
"You need tell Jill about your feelings. It's a good occasion this week you are in Ibiza. By the way, I'm here too, so we can hangout sometime." Ona said. Y/N let out a sigh.
"We can met this night? We are going to a club with Merel and Ana. Maybe Nerea come too." Y/N said, changing the subject.
Ona snorted. "Fine by me. I talk with Nerea."
"Okay. I let you know about this night." Y/N said.
"Okay. See you." The Catalan said, saying goodbye.
Y/N said goodbye too and hang up.
"Who of them is?" Nerea approached her, leaning her elbows there too. Y/N sigh once again, leaning her head in Nerea's shoulder.
"Ona." Nerea snorted.
"We will see her later?" The Guipuzcoan asked.
"Yep. More teasing for me." Y/N hummed the last part, feigning enthusiasm.
"Then, you know what to do." Nerea simply said, kissing her head.
"Yeah, don't introduce her to Lynn." Y/N whined, imagining how that two together could be her end.
•••
Lynn's plan started soon, for Y/N's disgrace.
They come back to the house that they rented, showering and getting ready. The first ones to be ready was Jill and Lena, Lynn not long to join them.
Sofie and Y/N was getting ready together. The Danish player was telling her about what she and Lena do that evening.
"Sofie?" Y/N called her, while she puts on her heels. Sofie made a noise, letting her know that she is listening. "Made a move. Because Lena wasn't going to do it."
The platinum blonde haired girl looked at her from the mirror, smirking. "Okay. Only if you do it too." Sofie challenged her. She was putting on her lipstick.
Y/N shakes her head, smiling. "Well... Lynn have a plan. So, I don't know if followed her or directly kiss Jill." She admitted, sitting in the bed, waiting for Sofie since she finished.
Sofie laughed. "I choose the last one." Y/N snorted, nodding with her head laughing. "What is her plan?" She asked curious.
"Make her jealous. I think Lynn will flirt with me in front of her." At this Sofie started laugh hard.
"It will be funny to watch..." She said between laughs.
A few minutes later, Sofie finished and they went to the living room, founding there the other three, talking.
Lynn was the first in seeing them. She smiled and stood up, walking to them.
"You two look beautiful. But with your permission Sof, Y/N looks especially beautiful." Lynn compliments them, mostly Y/N, who blushed a lot. The young smirked, kissing her cheek and passing an arm around her shoulders.
Y/N saw how the other two look at Lynn confused. But in Jill's eyes could see something more. They stood up and walked to the front door, Lynn still with her arm around Y/N's shoulders.
"Jill, why don't you drive?" Lynn proposed, grabbing the car keys from Y/N's hand and throwing it towards the blonde when she turned to look at her.
Sofie bite her lip to hold her laugh when she saw Jill's face. It was a mix between confusion and annoyed. "Lena, sit down in the co-pilot seat." She said, sitting herself in the back seat, next to the right window.
Y/N sat down in the middle, Lynn to the other available seat. The young when she putted her seat belt, she puts her right hand in Y/N's knee, squeezing it softly.
Jill saw it from the view mirror, since she was putting it in a good place for her. Her jaw clenched, starting the car.
Y/N's phone rang, she looked it, seeing it was Ona. Her friend sent her a photo where she and Nerea are together in the club. She typed something quickly and blocked it. Y/N swallowed hard, nervous.
They talked a little, mainly Lynn, Sofie and Lena. For lucky, they don't take long in coming there.
"Take it." Jill muttered at Y/N, tending her the car keys to save it. She grabbed it and Jill walked fast to Lena and Sofie.
Y/N looked badly at Lynn when this one approached her.
"You thanked me in two days." Was the only answer the young Dutch gave her.
They get inside, finding Nerea, Ona, Merel and Ana in the bar. Y/N hugs Ona strongly, just like she did before with Nerea.
"Damn, you are hot." The Catalan whispered in her ear. Y/N rolled her eyes.
"Ona, they are Lena, Sofie, Jill and Lynn." Y/N introduced their friends.
Ona smiled widely and give them two kisses. It's fun to see how they all find it weird.
All night, Lynn was with Y/N. Dancing, talking and even in silence. Nerea and Ona watch the interaction with fun. At some moment, Y/N went alone to the dance floor, after she begged at Lynn that she wanna dances alone.
Y/N was dancing carefree with a mixed drink in her hand. She felt someone's hand in her waist, hugging her from behind. Y/N turned around immediately, ready to punch. But she felt relieved when she saw who was.
Y/N looked at the person with her mouth open, up and down.
"You look so fucking hot!" Y/N leaned towards her for Alexia to heard her.
"You too." Alexia simply said, doing the same that Y/N before. The brunette hugged her, this time from the front. Y/N did the same. "Are you dancing alone?"
Y/N nods. "Yeah, I want to be alone." Alexia raised an eyebrow. Y/N sighed. "Lynn, my friend. She have a plan and it was make jealous Jill. It worked, but since we came here, don't talk to me. And Lynn by my side all the time, I got a little overwhelmed." She explained, giving a sip from her cup.
Alexia shakes her head smiling.
"Who else is here?" She asked, curious.
"Ona, Nerea, Merel and Ana."
"I came with a few friends with Vir and Leila. Want to say hi?" Alexia said, pointing where they are.
Y/N nods, but she made a signal to where Ona and Nerea are. "I'm going to warned them. Probably they want see you too." Alexia nods, following her.
Ona was the first in seeing them, squealing and going to hug Alexia. Even making her blush for her compliments.
"Stop, Batlle." Y/N warned, seeing Alexia really red. Ona let Alexia, not without first smiling mischievously.
Y/N let Sofie know that they will go to see their other teammates.
The party really started when Leila and Vir saw them. They all screamed and hugged them happily. Talking and of course gossiping about Nerea, Jill and Y/N. Alexia rescue Y/N from Leila and Ona. The Catalan sat down and she puts Y/N in her lap.
"Alright. If the looks could kill, Ona, Leila and I would be dead." Alexia comments in her ear, laughing.
Y/N frown, looking at her. She pointed with her head to where Y/N was before. She saw Jill looks at them, not dissimulating. She looked really mad. Her frown intensify.
"You think she let me sleep with her tonight?" Y/N asks her, hopeful. Alexia snorted, grabbing her cup and giving a long sip.
"If you ask her nicely and naked, maybe." Alexia joked. Y/N rolled her eyes, looking at her again.
"So... How many girls drool over you since you are here?" Y/N asks innocent, wiggling her eyebrows. This time was Alexia's turn to roll her eyes.
"You know I only have eyes for you." The Catalan whispered seductively, kissing her cheek. Y/N raised an eyebrow, smiling.
"I know. I just want hear it from you." Y/N followed her game. Well, they always had that type of friendship. It's weird because it's Alexia who we are talking about. And Y/N was the only she flirt openly and publicly.
"I think your girlfriend want to punch me. So I let you try to sleep with her tonight." Alexia said when she looked behind Y/N, seeing Jill glaring daggers at her.
"She is not my girlfriend." Y/N said seriously.
Alexia snorted.
"Then, future girlfriend. Better?" She asked rhetorically.
"Yes." Y/N teased her, sipping from her cup.
They talked a little more before Y/N say goodbye to them. They promised to see again before they went away from Ibiza. Ona, Nerea and Y/N come back with the other.
Lynn immediately puts herself to Y/N's side and whispered; "You are in so much trouble."
"I know. My friend was narrating me everything." Y/N whispered back, biting her lower lip.
Sofie puts in front of them. "We are going soon, are you coming?" Lynn and Y/N nodded at the same time. Later Sofie smirked. "She is really mad." She whispered, referring to Jill.
"Yeah, I know." Y/N said back.
Y/N went to pass time with Nerea and Ona before she get out from there.
To come back, Lena drove back with Jill in the co-pilot seat. Their conversation was the only thing hearing in the car, the other three to sleepy to participate. When they are in the house, Y/N went immediately to the bathroom and later to her bedroom, changing to her pajamas. She really thought about ask Jill, but she knew that the Dutch probably is really mad at her. So she went to Lynn's bedroom, she actually didn't want sleep alone. She knocked, coming inside when the other give permission.
"Can I sleep with you?" Y/N asks shyly. Lynn was laying in her bed, face up. She nodded smiling tiredly, opening her arms towards her.
Y/N come inside fully and closed the door, going to Lynn's bed and laying her head in her shoulder, accepting her embrace.
•••
When Y/N woke up, she saw that Lynn wasn't there. She grabs her phone and went outside of the bedroom, cursing when she met Jill.
Jill stopped momentarily in front of her. She looked at Y/N with her jaw clenched and without say anything, she walks downstairs, letting out a frustrated groan. Y/N went to her bedroom.
She changed her pajamas for comfortable clothes, going to the bathroom and after going to the kitchen, seeing Jill laying down in the sofa, an arm covering her face. Y/N decided let her and make breakfast for herself. She frowned when she didn't saw the other girls. Y/N checked her messages and saw that Lynn sent her some texts, letting her know that she and the other two went to do some sightseeing.
She breakfast and while she checked Instagram, Y/N leaned in the door frame. She took a sip of her coffee, her eyes looking briefly Jill. And was when she noticed that Jill was wearing boxers. Her cheeks immediately turned red, biting unconsciously her lip. Without thinking too much, Y/N went towards the sofa, sitting next to Jill. She blocked her phone and let it in the closed table, alongside of her cup of coffee.
"I'm sorry for make you mad. It wasn't my intention." Y/N started say, in a lower voice. "I like you... And yesterday Lynn made a plan to help me to, I don't know exactly the word, date you? Or see if you like me. Because it's something I don't believe and I don't know why. Lynn and I are not dating." Y/N finished, looking straight. She stood up when Jill doesn't say anything. Y/N was going to go to her bedroom, tears forming in her eyes.
But a hand grabbed her arm, turning her slowly, meeting Jill's soft eyes. She had a messy bun, some strands of hair fell across her face, framing her beauty. She stood up and positioned herself in front of Y/N.
"I like you. I like you since the second day of meeting you...?" Jill chuckle with this confession, blushing a little. "It's funny because I thought that you never like me back, so I didn't make a move." She bite her lip, closing the distance slowly while she looked to Y/N's mouth. When Jill know that Y/N was comfortable with her closeness, she pressed their lips together.
At first was innocent, a soft touch. But soon it turned in a confession, showing each other how much they wanted it from a long time. Jill passed her arms for Y/N's waist, bringing her closer to her.
Before they separated for air, Y/N bit Jill's lower lip, bringing it towards her. The blonde let out a growl.
"FINALLY!" Lynn's voice made them separate, blushing like crazy.
Y/N watch the soft smile that Sofie was giving them, her hand was between Lena's. She raised her eyebrows, forgetting that her friends interrupted her moment with Jill.
"I made a move." Y/N said, looking at Sofie, who smiled widely when she heard this comment.
"I made it too." The Danish admitted too, raising in the air their intertwined hands.
Y/N looked at Lena, her cheeks was red but she was smiling. Then her gaze focused in Lynn. The young Dutch was smirking happily and went to hug Y/N.
"Auch." Lynn's hissed, separating from Y/N and looking at Jill. "Why that?" She asked confused.
"You make me jealous." Jill simply said. She approachs Lynn and without warning, she grabs her and throw her in the pool, making Lynn squeals.
"Jill!" Y/N exclaimed, surprised.
The blonde passed her arm for Y/N's waist, ignoring her protests.
"Stay away from my girlfriend." Jill states when Lynn stuck her head out of the water.
Y/N looked at her, raising an eyebrow, smirking. "Your girlfriend?" She asks her.
Jill blushed, but nodded.
"You need ask first." Y/N hummed, laughing when Jill rolled her eyes.
"Y/N, in front of our friends and one of them the most annoying person I know, I ask you if you want be my girlfriend?" The Dutch asks her, her tone between seriousness and jokingly.
Y/N laughs, nodding with her head. "Yes, I want be your girlfriend."
Jill kissed her lips lovingly. Y/N puts her hands in Jill's cheeks, bringing closer towards her.
"I want a girlfriend now..." Lynn muttered in the pool, seeing Jill and Y/N kiss and Sofie and Lena holding hands while they watch too the new couple.

basically Jegulus starter with Jilly endgame, based off cellings by Lizzy McAlpine!!
originally posted on ao3
It was a lovely night; everyone was over at Marlene and Dorcas' place for a game night, and everyone was having so much fun well, besides Regulus, who couldn't pull his eyes off James and Lily; Regulus wouldn't say it, but he had a thing for James, and when he heard James liked Lily he couldn't help but feel jealous.
Regulus' jealousy soon brought him sadness. Once Sirius found Regulus in a drunken state crying, and when Sirius asked his brother what the matter was, Regulus sobbed James' name and ranted how he was stupid for ever falling for James. That same night Sirius spent his time caring for his brother because he knew how he felt because he had gone through something similar. Regulus doesn't like to bring up his crush on his brother's friend, but Sirius knew it was still there and would be for a long time.
"I might head home soon.." Regulus told the group, who were now playing their third round of uno, because Peter kept winning each game. "Aw, Reggie, one more game?" Mary whined, causing Regulus to send daggers at her because the use of the nickname he always hated.
"Can't. I have to open tomorrow," Regulus explained, and Sirius got hit with a sudden idea, "Shit, Reg, I said I would give you a ride, right?" Sirius asked
"Yeah, it's fine. You don't have to-"
"No, it's not fine, um, James! You said you have to leave soon, right?" Sirius asked, turning to his friend. "Yep, right after this game, and.." James said, placing down his last card. "I just won it." James laughed as Marlene groaned.
"Great! You think you can bring my brother home?" Sirius asked, and Regulus gave him a death glare as he realized what he was planning. "Um, sure, Regulus; you ready to go now?" James asked, walking to the door to put his shoes on.
"Yeah.."
"Great! Let's go."
--
It was a quiet ride to Regulus' apartment; Regulus was afraid if James said anything, he would want to throw himself at him.
"Regulus.." James spoke.
"Yeah?" Regulus asked as they arrived at his apartment.
"I have to confess something.." James paused " Im.. I'm in love with you," James explained softly as he turned to face Regulus, who sat there stunned. "No- No, you don't.. James, you're in love with Lily-" Regulus spoke but was cut short as James softly touched his cheek. "Regulus, I haven't been in love with Lily for a long time, and I've loved you for a while now, actually probably longer than I've loved anyone else-" James explains as Regulus cuts him off by kissing him. The kiss was sweet; it felt like something Regulus had longed for a long time.
"James, I feel the same way.." Regulus says as he pulls back a bit to catch his breath.
James smiles as he kisses Regulus again.
--
PING
Regulus groaned as he picks up his phone from the side table beside his bed. His phone read six o'clock; he saw a few notifications from Pandora and a new message from Sirius.
Sirius 06:00am
I'm guessing you got home safe.
Regulus 06:01am
Shut up.
Sirius 06:00am
What? I can't see if my little brother got home safe?
Regulus 06:03am
Your stupid plan worked, by the way.
Sirius 06:03am
WHAT?!
Are you being serious right now?
Sirius 06:04am
Regulus, look at your damn phone
Sirius 06:05am
I'm going to strangle you, I swear to god
REGULUS!
I'm going to literally kill you.
Regulus 06:06am
Yes, I'm being serious.
Sirius 06:06am
OH MY GOD!
You should tell me everything
wait don't
actually do
Regulus 06:07am
Im good.
Sirius 06:07am
AHH
Well, just tell me, what did he do? Did he spend the night or something?
Regulus 06:09am
No, he didn't spend the night.
Sirius 06:09am
THEN WHAT HAPPENED??
Regulus 06:10am
I have to get ready for work. Call me later.
Sirius 06:10am
Ugh fine
Regulus wasn't lying when he said James didn't spend the night. After James' confession and their make-out session, James explained how he loved Regulus and will always love Regulus, and Regulus swooned over every word. The same night James asked if Regulus would be his boyfriend, and Regulus happily accepted.
--
Now, it had been a little over a year since the two had got together, and everyone was so happy and excited for them. Sirius was the most ecstatic for them; hell, it was his plan that got them together in the end. When Regulus told James about Sirius' plan and how it worked, James couldn't help but laugh because James told Sirius beforehand about his crush on Regulus and figured that helped Sirius make the plan.
"Hey, is it okay if I leave a bit early today," James asked his boss, who was sorting out stuff in her office.
"Why are you rushing to leave us today, James? You have a date?" His boss joked. "Yeah, I do have a date. I'm meeting my boyfriend for dinner," James explained. "Well then, yes, you can leave a bit early. Not much happing here today cause of the storm. I hope this rain doesn't ruin your date."
"Nah, it won't. Well, if I'm free to go, I'm going to head out now, have a goodnight, Sue." James said as he gathered his things to leave.
James 06:37pm
Hey love, I just got off work, and Im heading to the restaurant now!
Regulus 06:37pm
Okay. Im stuck in traffic right now, so I might be a little late.
James 06:39pm
K ill just get the table while I wait for you
James 06:56pm
Okay, I just got the table!
James 07:10pm
Hey love just checking in and seeing how close you are
James 07:10pm
Regulus?
Hey, are you okay?
Regulus?
James 07:24pm
Okay I'm really starting to get worried please reply
Love?
Babe?
Hello?
Regulus?
James had his full attention on his phone, praying everything was okay and hoping Regulus would walk through the door at that very moment; nothing would grab his focus until he heard the television from over the bar.
"Breaking News, multiple crew on the scene work their hardest to pull a car out of the river after it hydroplanes off the highway."
"excuse me, can you please turn it up," James asks as he approaches the bar, "sure," The bartender replies.
"They have successfully removed the car from the river, and the crew is now bringing the driver to the hospital as I speak." James' heart stops when he realizes it was Regulus’ car, or a car that looked like his; in seconds, James runs out of the restaurant to get into his car and speeds to the hospital, praying to whoever would listen that Regulus was not dead.
As James got to the hospital, he felt his heart pumping with adrenaline; it felt like it could beat out of his chest. "Uh- The person on the news.. is he here? Is he alive?" James asked the person at the front. "Um.." The front desk worker checked her computer. "Yes, he just got here.. but sir-" She started but was cut off by James' pleas. "No, don't, don't say it,"
"Sir, he didn't make it... He passed away on the way to the hospital." She explained; James covered his mouth as his eyes became glossy.
"James?" a voice spoke from behind him; when James turned around, he saw Sirius and Remus standing there. They had just arrived. "James, is he here? Is my brother here?" Sirius asked, and James could not speak as he looked at Sirius.
"James.. is my brother alive.." Sirius asked as his voice trembled, and all James could do was hug Sirius, and Sirius knew what this meant; it meant his little brother was gone.
Sirius began to sob as James held him tighter.
--
BEEP. BEEP. BEEP-
James groaned as he reached the side table beside his bed to turn off his phone alarm.
It had been two years since Regulus drownd, and everything was so different. There would be days when Sirius would reach for his phone to call his brother but then remember he couldn't; everyone mourned Regulus, especially James. For the longest time, he believed it was his fault Regulus died; he was the reason Regulus was on the highway that night so it must be his fault.
His friend would always remind him it wasn't his fault, but deep down, he believed it was. "mm, what time is it?" Lily asked as she rolled over to her side, softly putting an arm on James' chest. "five thirty, I have to get ready for work, but you should go back to sleep," James explained softly as Lily yawned. "Alright, have a good day at work, love," Lily said, falling back asleep. "Thanks, dear..' He said, getting up and kissing her on the head.
He started dating Lily only a few months ago; it took James a long time before he could fall in love again, he honestly felt guilty because he told Regulus he had only loved him, but here he is now, dating Lily...

Evil Author Day #1
February 15th is Evil Author Day - you can read more about it on Jilly James' site, but in short it's about posting titles or descriptions or parts of stuff that's not actually ready for posting, the evil part being that there are no promises what so ever that there will be more.
What I'm posting under the EAD-tag either isn't finished and might never be, or it could be considered finished only I'm not happy with it.
Either way: Enjoy. Or not.
AN: Takes place during New Moon, sort of, just after Bella’s graduation. It’s a reality where Bella never confronted Jacob(?) and Jacob never tried to make her understand.
Jacob phases for the first time in February (2006) and Bella graduates June 11th.
When Jake phases Bella and Quil connect. They grow closer and closer, and end up dating – Bella’s scared to let him in, but even more scared not to. After all, Jake wanted more and when she didn’t give it to him he disappeared. Couldn’t the same happen with Quil?
She gives him everything he wants, including sex – all for the same reason, to make him stay.
Then one day he’s gone.
The Beast You've Made
It wasn’t until the phone rang that Bella noticed how late it had become. She’d attributed the darkness to her pain, knowing she had more or less blacked out again, but in reality it was dusk. Slowly she walked over to the phone, already knowing it wasn’t him.
“Bells, honey? Everything okay?” Charlie.
“Yeah, just a bit preoccupied. Did you want something special?”
“I’m going to be a bit late home tonight, that okay with you?”
She wanted to scream “no”, but instead gave him the answer he expected and told him she’d be fine, and that there would be a plate in the fridge for him. Acting normal.
She could hear the smile in his voice when he told her not to stay up too long, tomorrow being a school day, and to drive carefully if she took my truck out.
His parting words, “you kids behave now”, felt like a blow to the face. Bella was glad that he hung up right after, since she would have been unable to provide him with a convincing reply. Instead she sat down, practically collapsing onto the floor. There was no reason for her to drive anywhere. There was no one there for her to misbehave with. There would not be anyone there for her again. Her boyfriend had left her. Bella was alone.
And all she could think was that it was her own fault for being stupid enough to trust in love again, stupid enough to let Quil Ateara into her life and her heart.
They’d been dating for three months now, and this Saturday was to have been a lazy, comfy day starting with lunch and ending... Happily. Instead it was Quil and her that had ended. Oh, he hadn’t broken up with her, had in fact not talked to her at all. He just hadn’t showed up, and was now more than five hours late. Bella knew though. It was over.
A normal girl would start wondering what had happened to her boyfriend, but she didn’t bother. There was no need. She knew.
It wasn’t the fact that he’d never been more than five minutes late – that, in fact, he was usually early – that told her this. No. It was intuition, and the fact that this had, after all, happened to her before. She was willing to bet every cent still residing in her meager college account that Quil was now as far out of her reach as if he’d moved to the moon.
Bella’d had enough. She had lost, again and again, and even though she’d been patched together after every break she had come out of it another person. Less. The thought of how much less she’d be this time wasn’t something she was willing to entertain. Was there anything left to be saved of Bella Swan?
She got up, and started moving around, following patterns, routines, acting like a robot. Zombie, a voice Bella couldn’t identify as her own echoed in her head, and she knew that it was where she was heading.
“Not again,” she whispered. “Not ever again.”
Straightening her back and focusing her mind on one thing, and one thing only, she grabbed the phone and the phone book. Less than a minute later it was ringing at the other end.
A girl answered, and Bella was shocked into silence. A girl? Wasn’t that just... so damn hypocritical?
“Hello?”
She steeled herself.
“Tell Sam congratulations. Game over, he wins.”
As she hung up she heard her trying to ask who it was. She didn’t care. She didn’t have it in her any longer. Instead she walked out of the kitchen, only to return and take the phone off the hook, before going up the stairs.
~*~*~*~
When Sam felt another wolf phase and touched Paul’s mind he was only mildly surprised. Yes, Paul wasn’t due for patrol yet for a couple of hours, but then he’d never been one to phase according to schedule. Even the newest members of the pack had more control than Paul – his temper ruled him, not the other way around, meaning he spent more time phased than not.
Then he felt Paul's anxiety, followed by a frantic “call”.
“Sam, you there?” He didn’t wait for Sam to ask, or even acknowledge him. “You need to get home, now. Emily’s been calling all of us, and she sounded really freaked. Man, I could practically smell her panic over the phone.”
Sam was running full speed, having turned towards the house before Paul had gotten even halfway through his message. Paul was taking over the rest of the patrol, but Sam didn’t even have it in him to think about it. He was worried. Emily had never done something like that before, and that meant something was very wrong. The thought that he knew what it was chilled him – Harry Clearwater had been having heart problems for a while now, and Sam was terrified that Emily’s emergency would be his death. He didn’t know if he’d be able to deal with that. Harry’s problems were partly his fault, after all. He carried the burden of his daughter’s pain, after Sam’d broken her heart, a burden that was doubled by the fact that Harry knew exactly why he’d left her – but couldn’t tell her. There was also the additional worry brought on by the knowledge that the Clearwaters carried the same gene that Sam did, making his son Seth a potential member of the pack.
He phased, still running, and burst through the door without bothering to stop and get dressed. Emily was sitting by the kitchen table, looking troubled, and for once Sam's own problems didn’t lessen just by being in her presence.
“What’s wrong? Is it Harry?”
“No. It’s... There was a call for you.” He didn’t understand. What had unsettled her so about a simple call? “It was a girl. I think... I think it was Bella Swan.”
“What?” Sam was floored. Why in the name of all that was holy would Bella Swan call him? Yes, he’d been the one to find her in the forest all those months ago, but since then they’d had no contact. She blamed him, rightfully, for Jake no longer being in her life. The things he’d told her before phasing ensured that. So why?
“Yeah. She just said to congratulate you. That you’d won. I’m guessing she knows about Quil.”
That would be Sam's guess as well, even though he still had a hard time understanding why she’d called here. Bella wasn’t confrontational, this much he knew from Jake’s memories, so why? He’d expected her to try contact Quil, of course, when he failed to appear for their date, to call him or come down to the reservation. He’d even stationed Jared with him for just that possibility. But she hadn’t done either, or had she?
“There’s more.” Emily’s voice shook him from his thoughts. “The way she sounded... There was something in her voice, Sam, something dark and empty. I don’t think she’s taking it well. In fact, she just might have broken beyond all repair this time. I... Sam, I think you’re wrong to do this. Really, really wrong.”
Emily had been angry with him for a long time for the way he had hurt Leah, and part of her had never really forgiven him (or herself) for it. This however... Sam’d never seen her like this, and he sure as hell had never heard that tone before. He just stared at her.
“Sam! That girl has been through too much, and you just took away the only thing that she had left. Now, get someone over there to check up on her, at once. Because if you don’t? The way she sounded tells me that otherwise there just might not be a Bella Swan around tomorrow.”
The venom in her voice shocked Sam as did her words. His beloved Emily was furious, and with him. Could she be right? Could loosing Quil really have pushed Bella Swan that far?
“Go! And God help you, Sam, if you come back here and tell me that girl is dead. Because if she is, then you killed her – and I don’t know if I can live with you then.”
Hearing Emily threatening him like that was physically painful – because Sam could tell she meant it. He looked at her for a few seconds longer, silently begging her to take it back only to be met with a hard glare. He ran back out and phased without stopping. As soon as his paws hit the ground he ran all out towards Forks and Charlie Swan’s house.
As Sam felt the others he closed his mind as best he could. Jake had phased now, as had Embry, and Sam didn’t want him to know what might be going on. He had no time to deal with him now.
“Jake. Phase back, now, and relieve Jared. Tell him to phase immediately and join us. Now!” Sam enforced the order with every bit of power he had, and only felt Jake's surprise for a second before he faded out. The others’ surprise, however, remained.
Not for long though, as Sam lost the fight to control his thoughts. Their emotions echoed through him, and he felt Embry push himself to the limit while fighting the panic. Bella was perhaps the most important thing in the world to his two best friends, and he knew that if something were to happen to her neither of them would recover.
Even Paul worried. His derogatory thoughts about “the leech lover” had had Quil and Jake both ready to tear him to pieces – yet still he worried. He might not like the girl, or rather her association with the Cullens, but he had too much honor to wish her dead. The thought that she might die because of them, they who were meant to protect... Yeah. Not even at his worst Paul was willing to have that on his head.
Then again, it wouldn’t be on his head, now would it? It would be all on Sam's. And so he ran. As if his life depended on it – knowing it just might. Emily thought Bella Swan might try and kill herself because of what he had done. He had been the one to take Jake from her, and then, only a few hours ago, he had done the same with Quil. His intentions had been good, but.
If she tried to harm herself now it would be on him.
He was supposed to be a protector – the thought of causing an innocent human being's death was almost crippling. He didn’t want to know what the reality of it would do. On top of that there was Emily, his beloved imprint. Loosing her would cripple him, might even kill him, and she’d practically promised to leave should Bella die because of him.
And then, of course, there was the very real risk of either Jake or Quil killing him, should anything happen to their beloved Bella. Realistically Quil wasn’t that much of a threat – if push came to shove Sam could always order him to stand down, but Jake... There was no way Sam’d be able to control Jacob Black in that particular worst case scenario.
Jake’s love for Bella nearly rivaled an imprint. He’d refused to step up as Alpha so far, but for this? He wouldn’t hesitate to claim his birthright for a second if it meant avenging Bella. After all, the only reason he hadn’t done so already just to override Sam's orders and be with her was the very real issue of her safety.
He ran even harder.
The Swan house was dark and neither Bella’s truck nor Charlie’s cruiser was in place. Sam still phased back and let myself in with the (supposedly) hidden spare key in order to search the house.
Bella’s scent was still strong, among the fading aroma of what must have been a very nice meal. There was cake on the counter, burnt-out candles on the table and dvd:s on the living room table. Everything reminded him of the date Quil hadn’t shown up for. No signs of Bella, or clues to her whereabouts.
When Sam phased back he was met by anticipation. Jake was guarding Quil now, but the others were phased and ready for whatever their Alpha might need.
“No sign of her. Any ideas where she might be?”
“There’s that meadow where we found her with the leach,” Jared offered, and they all shared the sudden flashback. A nod, and he was off.
Embry offered to search First Beach and the cliffs, leaving Sam with Paul and not a fucking idea. Except there seemed to be something forming in Paul’s mind.
“What?”
“It might be nothing, but... I think I should check out the leaches’ place.”
It made sense, in a twisted way. Bella had thought of the Cullens as a second family. The people at the rez might have seen their departure as cause for celebration, but for her it had been the start of her downwards spiral.
She had been happy at that house, had believed herself safe there. It wasn’t really that crazy to think she might have returned there now – not when Sam had ripped every last remaining shred of happiness from her.
“Snap out of it, Sam.” Paul had already left, sensing the agreement and deciding not to wait for Sam to regain his focus. Smart move.
Sam was out of ideas, but he simply couldn’t do nothing, and so he ran patrol. The others would soon check in. Maybe the spirits would be benevolent and one of them would have news.
“Sam?” Embry. “No sign of her here, and I can’t pick up her scent either. Do you have somewhere else in mind for me? If not, I’ll head over to Emily’s.”
“Do that.”
The meadow was a bust too, and Sam's heart sank. He was a dead man.
“Sam!”
His head snapped up. Paul. He’d almost forgotten about him – and how that was even possible he didn’t want to think about – but now everything Sam had was focused on him. It sounded like Paul had news, and again Sam started praying.
How ironic, his brain supplied. Paul of all people being the one to succeed? Be– And he ripped my thoughts into order. He needed to focus, not get ahead of myself.
“Yes? Did you find anything?”
And then he was hit by the smell of Bella Swan, as it filled Paul’s nose. She was there!
“I’m on my way!”
“Sam, I’m not sure... There’s something off here...” And Paul disappeared, phasing out. Sam could understand him, even after being empty for months the Cullen house would reek – assaulting his sensitive nose in a way that was physically painful. It would be easier, even if not by much, to stand the smell and to investigate in human form.
Arriving Sam longed to phase myself, but instead he took the time to sniff out as much as he could. Bella had been here, of that he was certain, and not long ago. Her truck was still here, which meant that even if Sam couldn’t detect her presence it was possible that she was either in the house or somewhere near.
He walked up to the house on two legs, nose twitching and blood pounding in his ears. There was glass on the porch, and a large hole in one of the windows. He didn’t know why, but obviously it had made it easy for Paul to enter. Sam followed him.
Once inside he was hit by a rusty smell that made my stomach turn. Blood. Was that what Paul had meant about something being off? Sam inhaled deeply, steeling himself against the bleach. There was no signs of any living beings in the house, except for Paul, and Sam couldn’t smell any humans other than Bella.
Did that make it her blood?
If it was, then where was Bella? “No living beings in the house” he’d thought – but that didn’t rule out her being here.
“Sam.”
“What have you found?”
Paul was on edge, Sam could tell, both from the situation and the location, but he held himself together just fine anyway. He was doing much better that Sam, and Sam found himself leaning on that. He was Alpha. Paul was only third – yet right then he was running the show, and Sam was letting him.
“There’s blood, Bella’s blood. Some on the window – I’m assuming that’s where she entered, it was broken and open when I came here – as well as just inside it. Not much, probably just from the broken glass.”
He relaxed a little.
“But Sam, there’s more. I could smell it, smell her, so I looked around. She was in the bathroom over there,” he gestured, “and there... I think she washed it down, but she bled in there. A lot. And there was someone else here, a second car – I couldn’t pick up a scent, but whoever it was must have taken Bella with them.”
“I think– We should be looking at the hospital.”
Sam swallowed. The hospital. If Paul thought she’d gone there, knowing what we all did about Bella’s reluctance to it, then he had a good reason. Only, “good” wasn’t exactly the right word.
“Okay, we should–”
The howl was desperate and panicked, and ripped through their souls. They both phased without thinking and were met by a frantic Embry.
“Harry, Harry Clearwater, he’s dead... And–”
It just got worse from there.
