🍓 Kissing during sex, yes or no?
Absolutely yes.
🍐 Get up and shower after or bask in the afterglow all sticky and wet?
Bert will delay going to the shower in hopes for another round. No wasting hot water in this house.

She was 17, and it was after at the end-of-the-school-year house party with her boyfriend at the time.

1 January 1961
Bells were ringing all over the city, but only one celebratory jingle was all Frankie wished to hear. Just as she began to think her dearest friends had made better plans for the evening, the bell above the diner door chimed as Todd and Cecily walked past the menu stand to their regular table. Though the city was crawling with tourists, New Year's Eve at the diner remained quiet as ever. Without disrupting the sounds of the jukebox that kept her company through her long shifts, Frankie retreated to the kitchen to start preparing Cecily's coffee and Todd's usual strawberry milkshake with a single straw.
"At least the diner can count on our orders tonight. Where are your friends?" Cecily asked as she placed her cat-eyed sunglasses atop her head, scanning the empty seats. While she had been invited to the fraternity party, Pitts was attending, and she still expected to see Meeks hanging around the diner. It was assumed he spent just as much time at the restaurant eating cherry pie a la mode as Frankie spent serving it.
Todd shrugged as he followed Cecily's gaze. He shook his head and "They are not here, but I am not in charge of them. Seriously, try telling them they can't do something." He smirked at an untold memory before returning his attention to his menu.
"Well, I just thought Meeks would like to ring in the new year with…." Cecily stopped to smile at Frankie, who sat at her side with coffee and a milkshake in hand. She slid further into the booth to allow space for the tired waitress.
"It is so good to see you two tonight. I thought I was all alone for the new year. I have barely had a single customer all night. Still, I was hoping there would be at least one more," she hummed with a sigh and directed her gaze to the pie display.
Frankie was pulled from her cherry pie dreams by the sound of the bells jingling over the door as Claudie made her way into the diner. "Sorry, I'm late. The set strike from the Christmas pageant kind of turned into a party. Once we got the staircase torn down, I had to scoot. The stage lights are hot, and I'm exhausted, but the extra credit was worth it." Claudie huffed an exhausted sigh and fanned the sweaty sheen from her forehead. Despite the chill outside, the work was hard, and the diner remained warm and cozy, too cozy for Claudie as she slid into the open seat at Todd's hip. "Frankie, hun? Can I get a strawberry milkshake?"
"Hey, uh, Claudie, I probably can't finish this all on my own. Would you, maybe, want to share?" he asked as Frankie slipped him an extra straw from the pocket of her apron. Claudie's cheeks matched the strawberry milkshake as she nodded in Todd's direction, blind to the smirk shared by her roommates. "Here, take this, too. You'll freeze on the way home without a jacket," he offered as he shrugged off his leather coat.
Once again, the silver bells alerted Frankie that another hungry patron had entered. She let out a frustrated groan at the thought of a quiet night with friends disrupted, but the diner was struggling. She glanced at the door with a polite smile only to find Steven Meeks behind the menu stand, not daring to break the rule clearly posted, 'Please wait to be seated as his friends had. With that, Frankie rose from the table to greet him.
"The party at Pittsie's place is still going strong, but I couldn't miss getting a last slice of pie for the year," he informed the group of friends as they rearranged to create space for him.
Cecily laughed into the bitter brew at her lips, "Meeks, you didn't come here for pie any more than I came for coffee," she challenged and glanced in Frankie's direction.
With Frankie at the pie case, Meeks sighed and acknowledged Cecily's teasing. "Ok, the pie isn't the best. But what do you suggest? A poem? A song on the jukebox? I don't do big odes like that. I just, I want her to know how much I -" he twisted his class ring around his finger as his voice trailed off. "Anyway, it is almost midnight. I got here in time to start the year off right. With you guys."
"I am glad you did," Frankie hummed in response before placing the pie plate on the table and taking the seat next to Steven. "I was hoping I wouldn't have to kiss Cece at midnight," she added, enjoying the way her words changed the features across his freckled face.
Leaning back in the chair she had added to the end of the table, Cecily groaned as she watched her friends, cozy and happily paired for the holiday. "Well, put your worries to rest. Nobody is kissing me at midnight."
"Where is Charlie tonight, Cece?" Todd asked innocently, but the question was enough to give Meeks whiplash as he turned to Cecily in surprise. Cecily shrugged. "Don't know. Probably some jazz thing. I thought about finding a jazz thing tonight. Might not be a bad idea. As Meeks said, it could be neat to start the year off right," she muttered, suddenly uneasy at the thought of who he may kiss in celebration. She left enough cash on the table to pay for pie, coffee, and the milkshake. "Happy New Year, kids. I'm going uptown."
A flurry of snow met her at the door of the diner. Despite the darkened skies, she pulled her sunglasses over her eyes to shield herself from the incoming storm. The roar of the merriment from Times Square was deafening as she made her way further north. Before she knew it, she was nearly sprinting through the streets on her way to him, only stopping to acknowledge another romantic as he dashed through the white haze in the opposite direction.
"Cecily?" the zealous lover skidded in his tracks at the sound of her voice. Charlie removed the hood from his jacket. He ran across the street, nearly missing a taxi and several jay-walking tourists on their way to the celebration.
Wrapping her arms around him for the warmth they both desperately needed, Cecily giggled. "I was on my way uptown for a jazz thing. Charlie, I'm starting to think you just really like running through the snow all dramatic like."
The celebration behind them exploded into song and fireworks as the clock struck midnight. When he was able to pull himself away from their kiss, Charlie nodded. "I love a grand gesture."
sending all my love to those who are reading and those who have allowed me to bring their beautiful girls into this story. @cursebreakerfarrier - dearest Claudie is a joy @hystericalqween darling Frankie is a delight, always.

James Acaster stood in for John Robins, alongside Elis James, for a couple of radio episodes in February 2018, while John off touring The Darkness of Robins, and of course James was very good. There were lots of funny bits, everyone should go listen to the episodes of you want to hear James Acaster actually be funny, it's episodes 208 and 209 of the Radio X years. However, I had three things I wanted to comment on that have nothing to do with the actual jokes.
1) They discussed whether James Acaster is ginger, which I appreciate, because that has always confused me. Or at least, it's confused me since I first got on Tumblr, which was not long after I first saw Taskmaster, and saw the blond boy from season 7 referred to as a ginger. I've never brought it up because I just thought I guess i'm not very good at identifying hair colours, but I always found it strange. Which is why I pleased that, during this radio episode, they mentioned the idea of James Acaster being ginger, and James said that people call him ginger sometimes, but he's always thought he was blond. I am pleased that, at least, I am not the only one who's found this confusing.
But then, I watched the first nine seasons of Taskmaster before going on Tumblr and thought of Alex Horne as having brown hair, and then I saw people call him ginger on here, and I went back and looked at pictures of him, and yes, he's definitely ginger, I just didn't notice. I think I sometimes just don't notice when people are ginger. But I've looked at James Acaster again and I still don't think he is. Also, I'm now remembering that in early episodes of The Last Leg they used to call Josh Widdicombe ginger, and he's less ginger and more purely blond than anyone mentioned in this post so far, including Elis James.
I mean, I do see the colour red. The first time I watched Mock the Week I got that Frankie Boyle has red hair. But I do not understand how people look at James Acaster and see ginger. Glad that's been addressed and he's on my side.
2) Elis James and James Acaster dedicated some of the episode to making fun of John Robins for being on a tour with his highly emotional stand-up hour, featuring what Elis enjoys calling "the cynical inclusion of emotional heft" (citing an Edinburgh review that praised the "emotional heft", but the word cynical was added by Elis). This is fair enough, I happen to like a good stand-up hour with some emotional heft, I think something can be curated for the speaker's personal benefit while also being grounded in genuine emotional weight and I think The Darkness of Robins is one of many examples of that, but also, I'm aware that there's something inherently cynical in turning emotional heft into a project for monetary profit and awards. No problem with Elis making jokes about that. I've heard Elis James' stand-up routines, it is definitely internally consistent for him to make fun of other people for doing comedy with meaningful emotional subject matter. Absolutely nothing in Elis' catalogue makes him a hypocrite for mocking that. However, it was pretty amusing to listen to James Acaster make fun of something for doing that. Especially as this was just a couple of months before James started performing the earliest WIPs of Cold Lasagne, a show at least partly inspired by a breakup he had, I think, the same week as John Robins' breakup that formed the basis of Darkness of Robins. James Acaster may have just been annoyed that someone else got there first and won a Perrier Award for it, before he thought to do a show about that.
3) In honour of James Acaster back on Radio X, they did one more Classic Scrape.
After I heard this bit, I looked up when Comedy Unleashed started, it was, in fact, February 2018. So I'm pleased about this. According to Nish Kumar recently, James Acaster thinks it's going a bit far to yell at Jimmy Carr at a comedy festival just for appearing on Jordan Peterson's podcast. And maybe James is right, even though Nish has my eternal respect for being a person who didn't listen to reason on that. So I enjoy hearing a story in which James Acaster is the one picking a fight over people doing shitty things. Some people are all right.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Trey Anastasio, Basia, BBC Radio 1 (1967), Monica Bellucci, singer-songwriter Derek Buckwalter, Jill Corey, Marion Cotillard, Angie Dickinson, The Flintstones (1960 A.D.), Éamonn Ó Gallchobhair, Miki Howard, Cissy Houston, Deborah Kerr, music aficionado Robert Lapolt, Héctor Lavoe, John Lombardo (10,000 Maniacs—good to have met you), Ben Lovett (Mumford & Sons), Félix Luna, Frankie Lyman, Dewey Martin (Buffalo Springfield), Johnny Mathis, Marilyn McCoo, David Oistrakh, vocalist Tim Oliver, Sylvia Peterson (Chiffons), the 1935 premiere of Gershwin’s PORGY & BESS, Buddy Rich, Bill Rieflin (King Crimson), Rumi, Shaan, Marty Stuart (good to have met you), The Supremes’s 1968 “Love Child” single, Robby Takac (Goo Goo Dolls), Biggie Tembo, Elie Wiesel, Jack Wild, Barry Williams, Frank Zincavage (Romeo Void), and the iconic singer-songwriter, poet, and auteur of glam rock, Marc Bolan. He was the face of T. Rex, and his songwriting was an artful, impulsive mash of campy kitsch and cosmic medievalism, glitter, and psychedelia. Davy Jones (Monkees) was a big fan, and he and I went through a phase of studying Bolan’s music. Here’s Davy doing a cover of Bolan’s “Jeepster.” Marc left us too soon, but we thank you for the hours of joy you gave to us.

Frankie 💙
I don't even know which chapter it's supposed to be, but I missed them 🥹
Steven Meeks entered his favourite diner accompanied by the freezing air of an early winter evening. As usual, he stopped by the sign that asked customers to wait to be seated, even though the diner was unsurprisingly empty. When after a while no one arrived, he looked around carefully, worried that he had mixed up the days, but sighed with relief when he saw exactly what he was hoping for.
You see, the diner wasn't his favourite place in the whole city simply because he enjoyed the food or he liked the music they played. If he had to be honest, the food was actually not very good, and their jukebox standing in the very far corner was broken most of the time, making the atmosphere even more eerie. There was one particular reason he found himself coming back to the gritty place way more often than he would like to admit, and said reason was currently hunched over a counter in the very middle of said diner. Meeks didn't even realise how fast he approached it when he spotted her.
The counter was covered by a few books and sheets of paper, and Frankie Peterson was focusing on what looked like a half-written essay. She wrinkled her nose while occasionally biting the end of her pencil, but it appeared as if she was stuck on something.
Steven cleared his throat softly when she didn't notice him, but it didn't change much.
"Need some help?"
Send me ⌨ + title to one of my fics and I’ll write a sentence for that fic!

April 1961
The spring rain fell over the quiet diner, and though it was gentle, it was deafening against the silence of the last patrons as Frankie cleared the group's favorite table for the last time.
Charlie was the first to speak as the last empty strawberry shake was taken for a final wash before it was auctioned off with the rest of the diner's supplies. He huffed a long sigh without looking up from the booth, "It's the end of an era."
"No more pie," Meeks frowned.
Todd nodded as he wiped the whipped cream from his lip, "That was the last milkshake. Thanks for sharing it with me, Claudie."
"I'm already dying for another cup of coffee," Cecily whined.
Worst of all, the diner's closure had left Frankie without a job. With summer on the way, the pressure to find a new occupation was weighing heavily as the clouds loomed over the city.
"Let's just take a walk. Surely, we will find a new place to hang out, and maybe Frankie can find a new job," Meeks suggested, his eternal optimism shining through the dreary atmosphere. "Let's try the next block. It's quiet, but who knows, everything we need is always closer than we think," he added as he took Frankie's hand.
Cecily burrowed deeper into her trench coat and took Charlie's arm as they ventured down the alley. Record stores, used clothing, and a cigar shop passed by when Cecily started to recall a night spent in the area. "I think there's a jazz club over here. Maybe they did comedy, too?"
Charlie took note of a set of steps leading to the alleyway's basement. "Looks like there was a club here. Maybe a speakeasy back in the day," he shrugged sadly as he noted the sign on the steps that indicated the room was for sale. "Too bad places like this had to die. It would have been a good time."
"Not really," Cecily scoffed. "This was the place! We went last spring to see a talent show. My sister danced with a juggler. Very cute. The act was great, but the whole place was small, damp, and kind of dark. It was like hanging out in a cave or something. It's a shame. Nobody is ever going to buy this place," she sighed; a smile lingered on her face at the memory of the show.
Charlie's mischievous smile spread across his face and to Todd's, even when Charlie asked him for the five dollars he had in his wallet. "Meeks, you too. Empty your pockets."
"It's grade school all over again," the redhead sighed as he handed over the $6.37 from his coat pocket. "Meeks, give me your lunch money,” he sighed.
Charlie clapped his old pal on the shoulder and offered a comforting grin. "I'm not robbing you. I just made you a silent partner."
"In what?"
"The key word is silent," Charlie winked at his companions as he disappeared inside the old brick room.
A/N: Frankie belongs to the incredible @hystericalqween and Claudie to the wonderful @farrradays - Only 2 chapters left, but from here on, it's a fun and pleasant ride for our beloved wordy people.
