When I lived the the San Francisco Bay Area in the 1990’s it was all about color for me. Fuji Reala and then NPS 160 were what I used to document Bay to Breakers, Carnaval, the Pride Parades, and all the protests. I also did some image collecting of signage and structures as I admired Dorothea Lange and Walker Evans work. I wonder if we’ll ever see a “lunch special” for $2.99 again. I was waiting my experiment machine ready to use this afternoon. Usually it takes some minutes to be ready. This wasn't my first time standing nearby the window and enjoy the view outside. But today was different.

I was caught up by a couple or maybe a child with their parents downstair were waiting someone to pick them up or maybe taxi or bus. I was enjoying those moment. For some reason I felt everything around me was slowing down. No matter how busy my world was. I could hear my breath, I could feel my heart beat clearly. I could hear the wind through my ears. It was calming. It was heartwarming. Suddenly, I remember my mother. Those feeling after my great loss last year. I couldn't bear the feeling, so I took a deep breath and stop my tears to come out.

I know my mother left me, left us without any regrets. We also know she doesn't want us to suffer after she passed away. I couldn't bear but miss her everyday.

I treasure the moments I’ve been allowed to share with the people I’ve met. In the ‘70’s I met Fred Hocks who came to America in the 1920’s, following his older brother to San Francisco from Germany. He loved smoking cigars, and after spending an afternoon with him, I would be berated by the person I was living with: “So you’ve been visiting Fred again!” He was in his early 90’s, I was in my early 20’s, but the hours would fly by as we exchanged stories and discussed art and our experiences. I cannot begin to tell you the immeasurable sense of freedom you would feel from being atop one of the most spectacular mountains in Rio De Janeiro 🇧🇷:

A cable car 🚠 ride up, you have about three floors to the top you can explore and take photos.

The view is just breathtaking. 🥰

Separating Rio De Janeiro from the Atlantic Ocean, this is probably the second biggest highlight of Rio, after Christ The Redeemer.

I felt such a rush of energy from being up there and just seeing the entire city from above. I think much of this has to do with the awe-inspiring magnitude of nature. There are so many instances in the world in which you can see nature in its greatest form, but I have to say few can beat that of a magnificent mountain view.
