had a dream about monster hunting with two brothers, and in order to break a curse and prevent an ancient doomsday being from rising, we had to kill four "lords" of supernatural creatures

once that was completed, we thought the curse was broken, but it turned out we had to do a ritual too. One brother had to drink a potion that made him temporarily immortal, then let himself be possessed by the spirits of the four lords, one at a time, and allow himself to be "killed" in the same way they were, to permanently destroy them

The first one was a werewolf, who'd been killed by having his throat torn out. We did the first step, and he was possessed by the werewolf lord, half-transforming before I managed to rip out his throat. But after the lord's spirit was gone, it was just the hunter left behind, forced to sit there and endure the pain while his body healed itself

he was crying for his brother, but he was having a breakdown over having to watch it happen, so I was left trying to calm both of them down.

He healed within minutes, and we had to carry on. I woke up before we could get to the second lord, but I remember it was some kind of fae demon, and we had to tie him down before letting it possess him. It also apparently died a very violent death because he started panicking about it as soon as he realized

Have a couple piglins from a little downtime at work today! From memory (so apologies for odd proportions), but I wanted to try a couple different face shapes for fun. A couple notes—

- Examples above are usually based on the piglin’s home biome; they adapt to the one they’re in. Coloration will match the landscape as piglets, and usually they’ll have little quirks to help them survive better in that biome. (Piglins that live in soul sand valleys might have bigger hooves to spread out weight more, in an attempt to keep from sinking into it)

- Piglin eyes, when not completely white, would likely be a range of deep browns to reddish oranges, with ambers thrown in there. Those are most common, but other eye colors can happen too for many different reasons!

- Piglin/human hybrids wouldn’t be possible unless there was some serious magic involved! The species aren’t really compatible (I mean… we barely get along, and bartering is the best we can manage for the time being) unless some outside force helps! If they do manage to exist past that, I feel like they’d have an almost peach fuzzy/velvety feel for the majority of their skin, and hair that’s a little coarser than humans, for the most part. They’d be able to survive in the Overworld with much more ease than a normal piglin, either being lightly affected or completely unaffected by the zombification that happens to most.

don't mind me here's just some fun snippets from the ignis WIP in which I finally get a chance to delve a little into Keith's fucked up body.

Keith pressed a hand against the wall, the scanner hidden within briefly flashing green before the false wall fell away. He lead him back down into the base, trying to conceal a wince as descending the stairs sent a spike of pain through his right knee. Ugh. Maybe Ilun was right. Maybe he should have this one replaced too. "…you okay?" Kuron's voice was quiet. Keith was half tempted to pretend like he hadn't heard him, but that would be petty, even for him. "I'm fine," Keith half-lied, "-just get flare ups sometimes." He glanced back at Kuron just in time to see his face fall. He quickly looked ahead again, wishing he hadn't seen that. He just… looked so much like Shiro, that even if he knew he wasn't, part of him still couldn't help but react to him like he was. "…for what it's worth," Kuron said, "-I am sorry." He didn't specify what he was sorry for, but he kind of didn't need to. Not when they both knew he wouldn't be in this state if it weren't for the fact that Haggar had used him as a mole. She never would have been able to pull off her plans at Naxzela otherwise. And he'd still have a pain-free, completely organic body.

Hesitating for just a moment outside the door to Kuron's room, he reluctantly turned on his heel and headed towards his own. It wasn't quite as barren as his room on the Castle had been, but he hadn't really gone out of his way to make it feel like home, not like everyone else had. The thing that stood out the most was the cold storage unit in the corner, but that wasn't exactly personalization so much as it was necessary. Shrugging off his jacket, he draped it over a chair. Pressing a hand against the access panel on the cold storage unit, it recognized his specific biometric signature and opened up. He pulled out a small vial of glowing purple liquid, lifting up the back of his hair to reveal an injection port. Hooking it up, he briefly winced as the quintessence made its way into his system through his artificial spine, slowly draining out of the vial, his veins briefly glowing. Once it was gone, the pain finally subsided. Exhaling, Keith disconnected the empty vial. He placed it back into cold storage, where it could be reused later. He shut the unit, grabbing his jacket and tugging it back on. It was ironic. He was the most quintessence dependent thing on Ignis.

i definitely can't take credit for the earring thing though, heh. it's one of those "fandom osmosis" things that's been around for like years and years with different zoro ships! there's a lot of art with characters wearing one or more of the earrings and it's a fun way that people will plant ship "easter eggs" in stuff every now and then! they work really well as a commitment symbol-type thing, kinda pre-built into the universe (altho i do still love the "wedding ring on a string around your neck" trope... also very good).

@avenoirn has a really great luffy-wearing-zoros-earrings piece that directly inspired the fic here (<- for obvious reasons ive got a print of this one on my wall now LOL!), plus a few more examples here, here, here.

in terms of fics, i'm wracking my brain because i know it's been used a couple of other times before. i literally just read smth a few weeks ago that had an earring thing mentioned and i was like "omg" because it's used way less often as a trope in fanfic. at the very least, "when the dew falls up" by louluna also uses it if you're looking for more zolu! i can't speak to other zoro ships tho since i mostly read gen or zolu these days--but i know for a fact it's been used in zosan fics before.
