Gansey and Blue, after

They go to college. Gansey interns at a museum and Blue studies abroad in South American rainforests and distant wildlife preserves. They spend their twenties traveling and discovering new wonders and chipping away at degrees.

Later, Gansey teaches at a timeless little college and Blue at a big research university that happily gives her funding. She writes books about things like mycelium networks and trees that communicate through root systems, as well as one middle grade novel about a dead boy who loves skateboarding. Gansey publishes writing about all of his findings (because if you have a knack for finding things, you owe it to the world to look) from the relics in Gwenllian’s tomb to later discoveries. From his position at the top of Seondeok’s empire, Henry gets ahold of all sorts of fascinating (non dreamt) artifacts to send their way. Gansey also publishes some far less well known works on ley line theory, appreciated primarily by a group of old British scholars who were acquainted with Mallory’s work.

They show up to Gansey family parties and fundraisers wearing brightly colored vintage clothing, and Blue terrorizes the guests with passionate ideological debates. She cheerfully hunts down plates for Mrs. Gansey’s collection, and strictly avoids any discussion of politics with her. Mr. Gray is the first person to read and edit Gansey’s papers and manuscripts. The 300 Fox Way women get Gansey extraordinarily drunk every time he visits.

They commute from a quaint old house outside Henrietta where Blue has a lovingly kept garden and an endless string of home improvement diy projects. They have dinner at the Barns. They drive their matching Camaros.

They’re together, and they’re alive, and they’re doing something more
