#gender qualities
Text
*Kurtis Conner voice* Folks! πŸ‘
I have a gender-related question.
Tumblr media
What gender quality exists in the dead-center of this graphic? Right in the center of the trinary? I saw something that said it's agender, but that's a lack of gender identity and I don't think it should be consider as "in between" all the other gender qualities, you know?
So what is in between masculine, feminine, and neutral? Is there a word for it at all? Not outside of or a combination of, but in between. I'm also looking for a gender quality, not a gender.

Lectence
[PT: Lectence. end PT]
A neogender umbrella related to loneliness, isolation, abandonment, the fear of being alone, neglect, and The Lonely from The Magnus Archives!
Additionally, lectence is connected to/related to fog, faceless crowds, empty rooms, silence, travel (especially by ship), chilliness, the suburbs, and large but abandoned houses.
Lectence by itself is not xenogender, though some specific terms that fall under lectence may overlap with it. While intended to describe gender, lectence may describe other types of identity as well.
———————————————–
Lectence Terminology
[PT: Lectence Terminology. end PT]
A lectence gender is called a disilect, with the plural form being disilects.
The lectence alignment is called lonecine.
The gender quality for lectence is lectinity, and the adjective form of lectinity is lectine.
The gender nature is LECTIN, or lectence-in-nature.
The transitioning term is translectine, which may be shortened to translect.
A person who is lectence may be called a solit. A lectine adult may be called a reculit, and a lectine minor may be called an imerit.
The juvelic term for solit-loving-solit is crowdlect.
———————————————–
Lectence comes from combining the words 'silence' and 'neglect'. Disilect comes from combining 'silence', 'neglect', and 'disconnection'. Solit comes from the word 'solitary'. Both reculit and imerit come from playing around with and combining the words 'hermit' and 'recluse'. More referential language is in the works.
Feel free to redesign the flag. We're not flagmakers and we're not proud of the one we made for this. It uses the 5-stripe wavy flag template by @neopronouns.

What some don't seem to understand is that outherinity isn't a monolithic gender quality, it's an umbrella term for any sociegender quality that can be defined as something else. This includes:
Brand new quality with no connection to pre-existing ones
Maverinity
Aporinity
Perainity
Autoninity
Just to name some.
Genders defined as "just nonbinary" or enbininity as a quality can be considered outherine.
Brand new qualities related to pre-existing ones:
Altraeninity
Some definitions of epicenity
Pandrogyny in it's original conception as "a kind of third gender experience"
Gender ambiguity
Aporinity when defined as the combination of neutrality and a brand new quality.
Uncommon combinations of common gender qualities.
Droxinity
Troininity
Neutrangi(nity)
Because they fit the category of "something else", gender combinations between brand new qualities or between those and pre-existing could be considered outherine.
So outherine is a concept applicable to any quality or alignment that's:
Brand new
Comgender
Non-xenine
Uncommon
Relates to the concept of gender
Distinct from the main four or five qualities.
There isn't a gender outherinity; there are many gender outherinities.

Note
dysphoric culture is feeling forced to relate to masculinity/femininity when you simply just don’t feel like anything at all…
like i just feel like a huge cluster of everything…
Dysphoric culture is!
Also, don't give into to pressure anon! You don't need to relate to masculinity or feminine at all and there are lots of trans/nonbinary people who just feel like a giant galaxy of gender. Or maybe a void.
There are also other categories like neutrality, outherinity, extrine, etc that you can use.

I think it's a bit of a shame how Vivec's appearance changed in the games after Morrowind. I always got a sort of uncanny vibe from his Morrrowind appearance, like he's staring straight into you, that I feel like wasn't captured as well in his later appearances. I picture him with a round face (for a mer), and huge eyes and ears. Just absolutely big-ass orbits and ears big enough to move like a cat's.
The first set is from February (you can thank it for giving me hand/wrist pain), and so I'm not keen on finishing it, but liked it enough to post it anyway.
(AKA: vivec sketch dump)

The year is 2024, 8 years post release, and Pokemon Go not only finally gives trainers the ability to have more than just the default hair style and one of four eye and skin colors, but decided while they were there to completely blast every other Pokemon Game in the world out of existence by removing Gender entirely and giving the player customizable body types complete with separate sliders for Weight, Muscle, Shoulders, Chest, and Waist

If you ever wanted to learn about gender qualities (masculine, feminine, maverine, outherine, etc.), there is a page for that here on the YB3 Wiki! It lists a bunch of existing gender qualities (that I could find so far) as well as some newly coined ones that are exclusive to that page. I think you might find it very informative! πŸ’›

[image ID: a rectangular flag with four equal horizontal stripes, going from the top to the bottom, dark magenta, dark web orange, medium blue, and spring green. in the center of the flag they begin to swirl inwards. in the center of the flag is the imosril symbol, a rounded white symbol reminiscent of the faces in the vase optical illusion. there are spirals where the foreheads of the faces would be. end ID]

———————————————–

[PT: Imosril Terminology. end PT]
The gender nature for imosril is IMIN, which stands for imosril-in-nature.
The gender quality for imosril is imosrial, with the noun form being imosreality.

you say machete has to be closeted then why's he always wearing them little heels
Maybe he thinks he's a tiny bit nicer looking in them.
#no in fact he's just a little ahead of the curve let me try to explain#again I'm not a historian I'm just sharing what I've read I might be misremembering stuff so don't quote me on this#high heels became extremely fashionable in the early 1600's probably just a few decades after Machete's time#and they were originally worn by men#because they were inspired by Persian riding boots#if your shoes had heels you'd have easier time keeping your feet in the stirrups (think of cowboy boots)#Europeans saw them thought they looked snazzy and they became wildly popular in noble circles fairly quickly#for some hundred years or so high heels were the epitome of class wealth power and status and they were essentially genderless#remember that concepts of masculinity and femininity are fluid and change over time#things that were seen as manly a few centuries ago may seem downright effeminate to a modern viewer#it's all matter of perspective neither is objectively more correct than the other#they started to separate into men's heels and women's heels around mid 1700's iirc but the changes weren't massive even then#and only truly went out of vogue when the French Revolution hit in 1789#and people all across the continent were suddenly put off by everything that reminded them#of the frivolousness and extravagance of royalty and aristicracy#so in his canon timeline I don't think people are looking at him and going β€œhmmm that's pretty gay”#because heels hadn't become gendered yet#maybe he likes how they accentuate his already tiny paws and make his legs look even longer than they are#he's interested in fashion or at least likes to dress nicely in high quality garments#he tries very hard to look his best despite never really feeling comfortable in his skin#he was a real shrimp as a kid and even though he eventually grew up to be a beanpole he might still find the extra height appealing#no one's going to look down on him ever again#I admit the way I draw them is a lot more modern than the true historical style at the time but not outrageously so#artistic freedom and all that in the end I'm not aiming for 100% accuracy#modern au Machete has no excuses though he's just a little bit fruity#if the guy feels empowered by wearing little clip cloppers let him#answered#anonymous#Machete
