say you’re sorry (s. harrington x reader)
Steve comes by to your house to explain himself after telling you to get out of the car. (asshole!steve, all angst no comfort)

In Steve’s defense, he came back for you after five minutes of driving. He scouted the streets slowly but you weren’t there. You weren’t there where he dropped you off, and when he arrived at the party after looking for you in all of the streets going to Phil Newton’s house, Eddie and Robin weren’t there either. He called your house and your mom said that you haven’t been home yet. He paced in the streets of Hawkins, hoping to catch a glimpse of your figure until he gave out.
It was what drove him to go to your house the next morning. He tried calling Robin and Eddie but none of them answered. Nancy said she went home alone last night and caught a ride with one of the guys from the newspaper club. With roses in his hand and the other knocking, your mother let him in. They were sharing a pot of tea that she brewed before going to work. Your mother loved Steve. The perfect gentleman from a reputable family. He’s never given her a reason to doubt his intentions and his loyalty towards you. He never gave her a chance to see the ugly parts of him, the one that let you go last night. The guilt consumes him; the thought of you in the middle of the road you barely knew, shivering in fear. You’ve always hated the dark and Steve has put you in it.
It was around nine in the morning when he heard Eddie’s janky van drive in, followed by a loud laugh and the sound of leaving. Steve braces himself, his fingers around the warmth of the cup, seeking comfort. There was no other way to face you but to force it upon himself. He watches the door open with a slight smile on his face. He was hoping you’d forgive him this time but your figure goes rigid at the sight of him. Forgiveness was out of the window, for now. Your mom has gone to work thirty minutes ago and it was just the two of you in your home. You bit your lip and looked away from him.
“I was worried about you,” he starts and you chuckle humorlessly. He frowns. “Where were you last night?”
“That’s rich, Steve,” you replied, taking off Eddie’s jacket to hang on the coat rack. “That’s just rich.”
“Where were you?” he asked. “I went back and you weren’t there. I tried calling your mom, Eddie, and Robin. None of you answered. I was worried,”
“Of course, I wasn’t. You left me, remember?” you asked, watching as he sets down the mug. You were willing yourself to move from where you stood. Anywhere but here; anywhere but with Steve.
“I was going to come back for you. You know I’m always going to come back,” he reasons.
“No,” you shook your head, a frown on your lips. “Don’t…don’t do this to me, Steve.” Your hand raises to stop him from approaching you; acting as if it was a shield to protect you from him.
“What?” he asked. “It was a lapse of my judgement. I was mad and I don’t know. It consumed me,” His knee was bouncing up and down. Usually, you’d have your hand on his knee to stop him; a nervous habit he picked up. You didn’t though. Instead, you walked away from him to the kitchen. He followed you deeper, like a lost puppy.
“I don’t want to fight,” you whispered, trying to even out your voice. “But…why did you do that?” you asked, looking him directly in the eye. He wished he didn’t follow you because seeing you, in the kitchen where you used to cook together and talk about dreams together was painful. You looked disheveled, like you hadn’t slept last night. There were dark circles under your glossy eyes. The spark of life that used to reflect itself was gone.
“I…I…” he swallowed, looking away. “I don’t know,”
“Remember when we got together, I told you that I didn’t want to get in between you and Nancy?” you asked. “Well, I seem to be stopping you from whatever it is you still have for her,”
“I don’t—I don’t love her anymore. You have to believe me,” he pleads but it was no use. Last night, when you were crying between Eddie and Robin, realization hit you like a cold bucket of water. Steve didn’t love you; not in the way that you loved him anyway. The man who seemingly put the stars in the sky, hung it for someone else.
“Then why?” you asked, wiping away the tears that spilled. You hated how Steve flinched when you raised your voice at him. He hated being shouted at by his dad, so you soften your voice. “Why would you do that? Didn’t we go through this a thousand times already? I just…how could you leave me all alone if you loved me? You wouldn’t have done that to Nancy,”
“I don’t want to talk about Nancy anymore,” Steve replied, his voice clear. “Nancy has nothing to do with us,”
“Here you go again. Taking Nancy’s side! Have you ever thought how I felt when I learned that you were locked inside Phil’s house? When you opened the door…” you sniffled. “You won’t even show her to me. You looked at me with such annoyance. Like, like I was interrupting you. You left me…” you sobbed. “You left me, Steve. You know that I’ll always come back because you’re so fickle and I’m hoping…that you could love me half as much as you love her but you never did! You left me,”
“I didn’t mean to. You know I’d never do whatever you’re trying to pin on me. I didn’t fuck Nancy,” he tried and you only shook. The way he worded it, the way he tried to defend himself was enough. He was bringing your worst nightmares to life without knowing.
“Please, Steve. Do you still love her? When you think of your future, am I even there?” you asked weakly. “Am I reading things wrong when you leave her for me? When you remove your hand from mine when she’s around? Do you think I don’t notice how your eyes linger on her? Always thinking if she’d like it, what she thinks of something. Do you still love her?”
“No,” he shook his head but it felt like such a lie. “I, I—“
“You love her, don’t you? It wasn’t me all along, right? When you said you wanted to live in a house with a picket fence, that wasn’t me beside you, right? It was her…” you heaved and Steve shakes his head, tears on his cheeks. He couldn’t swallow the truth that you were giving him cold heartedly. “Where was I, then?”
Where were you in his dreams? Where were you in the future? Steve tried looking for you but saw nothing. You gasped, putting a hand on your mouth at the truth. You were testing the waters, giving him one more chance because he was Steve; he promised to never break your heart the way others did. He promised to never do that and he didn’t but only because he did worse.
“Oh my God,” you sobbed. Steve could only watch you with a defeated look in his eyes. “You…still love her. Where do I fit in your life?” you cried, your body shaking at the revelations.
“I love you,” Steve tried but you were hearing none of it. “I love you. We can work on it together, alright? I’ll stay away from Nancy for good. I swear, I’ll take the end of my promise this time. I’ll tell her that I can't be her friend anymore. Whatever you need, whatever you want,”
“No, no, no,” you replied, pointing a finger at him. “You can’t say things like that and expect me to just run back to you. I love you but I can’t be your second choice. That’s fucked up. You can’t do that to me,” you cried.
“I only left you in the road,” he tries to reason and he knows that it was fucked up.  “Are you…doing this so you could go to Eddie?”
“What?”
“It’s Eddie. I know that he loves you. Everything you’re accusing me of, Eddie does it too. To you,” he replied, feeling a rush of anger and jealousy through his body.
“Eddie and I are—“
“Are friends, right? But you laugh at his jokes louder than you do with mine,” he accused. “You always defend him, did you know that? You were with him last night, right? Always waiting for me to fuck things up, right?”
“That’s not true,” you replied. “We were talking about you, Steve. You just can’t use him as a defense for your fuck up! You can’t point this on me because I would have never done what you did to me last night,” you wailed. “You’ve left me more times than you did last night. I’ve felt you slipping away from me way before I even realized that I loved you.
“I would have never done that. I never would have left you in the middle of the road because I was angry. I never would have locked myself in a room with someone I knew you were worried about. I never would have done what you did.” you replied and it all made sense to Steve but he couldn’t just let go.
“But I can change! I was mad and I couldn’t…I regretted what I did immediately,” he cried and you could only chuckle. How could a good man like Steve hurt you so mercilessly? How did it all come to this? Cries and hurtful words that can maim you to death? Every promise you promised each other was burning, leaving you with nothing but embers of chaos and regret. It was too late. Your tears felt like acid rain on your cheeks and Steve’s warm, brown eyes looked menacing and evil now. Your cries sounded like personal attacks towards him. How you’d brush off every worry he had of Eddie; how he’d save Nancy but never save you.
“How many minutes?”
“What?”
“How many minutes did it take for you to drive back?”
“Five or so,”
“Immediate…” you laughed. “We can’t change. Can’t you see? This is the same unending cycle.  We’re going to hate each other if we continue, Steve,” you breathed. “You could never choose me over Nancy and I could never reassure you about anything because you will always question my love and loyalty.  We’ll always do that to each other. We’re at a dead end,”
“Please, please don’t,” he begged. How could he fuck this up? How did he allow himself to leave you behind all those times? How could he realize that you were never in the future he pictured? That it was always Nancy who was beside him, in his head, he’d wake up beside her. In his future, it was her with him in the camper van. In his future, it was her but he couldn’t let you go. Not when he knows how much you loved him. He was sure he could chase the feeling and tell himself to love you back; the same way you loved him.  “I promise, I’ll never do that again,”
“No,” you declined, looking at him with a broken smile. “That’s the thing about assurance, isn’t it? It has no meaning if promises are broken. We could never give each other the security that we want,”
Steve only nods, finding truth in your words; seeking refuge in the hurt. It was time to go home and it was time to give up.
“We’ll just hate each other and I don’t want that,” your voice waivers. “Because I love you. . Very much,”
“Please…” Steve steps in closer to you, to try to contain whatever hurtful word you were going to say to him but you coiled away from him. He staggers back and watches your crying eyes, you were heartbreakingly beautiful.
“For the record, in every version of the future I’ve deluded myself into, you were there. Always,”
Steve nods, never finding the words to say to make things right. How could he say he loved you when you just made him realize that he actually didn't? Not in the way you loved him. Not in the way he loves Nancy.
“You should go,” you urged, protecting yourself from him. Only then did Steve notice the bandage on your arm but it was too late to fix things. It was too late to start caring for you the way you did when he’d complain about a small headache. It was too late to nurse the bleeding bandage the way you cleaned his scratches.
“I…I’ll see you around, yeah?”
“Goodbye, Steve,” you said, watching his retrieving figure walk outside your door. Only then did you allow yourself to fully cry; with unadulterated wails of pain, anger, longing, jealousy, and loneliness. The worst part of it all? He never even said sorry.
A/N: There will be no third part but I have seen a couple of requests beating Steve’s ass. I will not be adding that part; trust me, I’ve thought about writing about it but I think the ending now is way better than if we involved Eddie. Thank you for the support & love for this fic! One day the kids wake up and they can’t find Steve. They search his house, the school track, the basketball courts, anywhere they can think of where they might find him and he’s nowhere to be found. When they go to Robin’s house, she’s missing too. Her parents haven’t seen her since she disgraced their family by proclaiming herself to be a lesbian.
Even Eddie hasn’t seen either of them and that’s particularly worrying since the three of them are always together.
Both Steve and Robin come back two weeks later with sunburns and matching tattoos on their wrists. They had been at one of the Harrington vacation homes in Florida getting drunk, checking out girls, and getting tattoos. It’s also when Steve realized he was interested in Eddie and plants a smooch on him as soon as he gets back to see Eddie checking out his ass.

Eddie has the band over and they’re jamming together on a live-stream when Steve gets off work and interrupts them. He’s all smiles when he’s like, “Hey, guess what. One of my students called me the D-word today.”
Eddie; One of your students called you a dumbass and you’re happy about it?
Steve: No
Jeff: Then why are you smiling?
Steve: They didn’t-
Gareth: Did they call you a douchebag?
Grant: Dipshit?
Steve: Dad! One of my students called me dad today.
The band:
The band: Oh
Eddie: That’s great! How many times is that now?
Steve: Thirteen!

If I Should Stay
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4
He’s staring at him.
Steve Harrington is staring at Eddie Munson.
The thing is, people don’t just stare at Eddie. Not for any reason that means anything good for Eddie. So when, completely unprompted, the fucking King of Hawkins High walks up to Eddie and says, “I need to talk to you,” Eddie thinks he’s entirely justified in the squeak he lets out.
“You? Talk? To me?” Wow. Great job, brain.
“Please,” Harrington whispers, and Eddie thinks desperately this must be some kind of joke, except he’s good at reading people, and he knows the desperation in Harrington’s eyes.
“Okay,” he says, stammers. “Um. There- there’s, behind the school, a, uh-”
“Table,” Harrington nods. “That works. Just…” he sighs, rakes a hand through his hair. “Leave the lunchbox at home.”
Eddie’s eyebrows hit his hairline. “Then what the fuck do you want with me, dude?”
“I can’t explain. Not here, not now. Just. Please. After school, okay?”
Eddie looks at him. Really looks, studies his face, understands the lines by his eyes, the tightness of his mouth. His heart thumps as he realizes. He’s scared. “Okay,” he says, and means it.
Eddie’s a man of his word, so after school he makes his way to the table, pausing when it comes into view. Harrington’s already there, sitting with his head in his hands. Eddie calls out from a couple of paces away. “You sure you don’t want anything from the lunchbox?”
Harrington jumps, hands up, eyes round. Relaxes a little when he sees Eddie. “No. I- I’m good. I can’t, actually.”
Eddie frowns. “What, like, a sports thing? No one’s gotta know, dude, I’ve never been busted, I can keep a secret.”
Steve gives him a half-smile. “No. It’s- it’s not a sports thing. Just… sit down? And promise to listen?”
“Okay,” Eddie says, because he knows how comforting it can be to just have someone there, and he’s not a dick; clearly Harrington’s going through something. Though why he approached Eddie, of all people, he doesn’t know.
“Okay,” Harrington repeats back, taking a breath before starting. “If I were to tell you I’m from the future, a future in which we know each other, how would you ask me to prove it?”
Eddie blinks. He was ready for a lot of things, but not time travel. “Um. I dunno, man, I haven’t really thought about it.”
He takes another deep breath. “Can I try?”
“To- to prove you’re from the future?”
“Yeah.”
Eddie laughs, a little hysterically. “Man, where the fuck do I get the strain you’re on?”
He blinks. “What?”
Eddie gestures at him. “Come on, man, you have to admit you’re not really making sense here.”
Harrington sighs. Takes another breath. Says, “You live with your uncle Wayne. Your father taught you to hot wire cars when you were nine. You listen to Dio and Metallica and Ozzy Osbourne but your favorite song is I Will Always Love You, by Dolly Parton, because it was your mom’s favorite. The guitar pick you wear around your neck was hers. She taught you guitar. You love The Hobbit. Stop me when I’ve said enough.”
Eddie’s never been more scared in his life. “Listen, man, I dunno where you heard all that-”
“Eddie,” he says, implores, and digs something out of his pocket. Opens his hand to reveal a ring.
A ring Eddie already has on his finger.
“What the fuck,” Eddie whispers. Grabs for the ring before he can tell himself it’s a bad idea. Examines it, sees the dent from where his finger had gotten smashed in a door.
His hands start shaking.
“I’m from 1987,” Steve Harrington says, sure as anything. “And I’m trying to stop something terrible.”
“And what would that be?” Eddie asks, feeling strangely detached from the whole thing.
“Your death,” Steve Harrington says, still sure as anything.

When Eddie is introduced to Jonathan, they both give each other a look that says “if you say anything, you’re dead” and naturally, Nancy clocks it immediately.
“What was that?”
“Nothing,” they said at the same time, only growing the suspicion.
“Seriously? Do you know each other already?”
“No!”
“Yes, but-“
They glare at each other, but Eddie speaks up again.
“He bought from me a couple times. No big deal.”
Nancy looks between them, shakes her head. “There’s something else going on. But we’ve got bigger problems.”
And they did.
For months, their problems seemed to get worse by the day. It was a great distraction.
But honestly, anytime Eddie spent more time with Jonathan, it got harder not to say how they actually knew each other: a make out session in a bathroom at a party when Jonathan was yearning for Nancy.
He told Steve eventually, had to with the way he kept finding ways to avoid being around Jonathan and Steve got suspicious.
“If he said something to you about us, I’ll take care of it. He doesn’t get to say shit about what makes us happy.”
And Eddie couldn’t have Steve lose another fight, so he told him.
“So wait. You and Jonathan…”
“Made out. Yes.”
“Like…with tongue?”
Eddie rolled his eyes. “Yeah, I remember tongue being involved.”
“And hands?”
“They were there too.”
Steve puts his hands on his hips, lifts one to wipe over his face, then settles it back on his hip. “And you liked it?”
“Considering at the time my options were Jonathan or the girl in Hellfire who insisted I wasn’t gay because I looked at her during campaigns, yeah. It wasn’t the worst thing I’ve been through.”
Steve huffed. “Yeah, but like. Compared to me-“
“Oh my god.”
“What?!”
“I cannot believe you’re jealous of Jonathan Byers. Again.”
“I’m not! I’ve never-“
Eddie raised his brows. “Never? Not once?”
“That was different!”
“That was worse.”
“I dunno, finding out your boyfriend has made out with the only other guy in Hawkins who’d be up for it is arguably worse.”
Steve pouted for hours. Eddie let him.
It was cute, alright?
And when he got over it, they made out for hours in his bed.
Steve, of course, was the one who told Nancy.
In his defense, he was very high, and Nancy had been pushing him all night, from the moment she caught wind that he might know how they knew each other.
Eddie went inside to grab them all water, and she pounced.
By the time Eddie got back, Steve was half asleep and Nancy was smirking at Eddie.
“You could’ve just said.”
“He’s never getting high for free again.”
“He’s your boyfriend.”
“He’s back to being a paying customer, too.”
Nancy laughed, startling Steve into opening his eyes. He smiled up at Eddie, no clue he’d just given up one of their secrets.
“Hi, baby. You know Nancy didn’t know about you and Jonathan?”
Eddie glanced over to see Nancy rolling on her side, laughing hysterically.
“Yeah. I’m sure that was on purpose. How about we get you to bed, superstar?”
He managed to get Steve onto the couch, where he immediately passed out.
Nancy hugged him, kissed his cheek, like she always did before leaving.
“It’s not a big deal, you know. He’s mentioned that he isn’t only into women. We’ve talked a lot about the Argyle situation.” She walked towards the door. “Steve will get over the jealousy eventually. It’s not like Jonathan wouldn’t have made out with him if he could have.”
She left before Eddie could respond.
Eddie suddenly understood exactly what Steve was feeling.
“Not gonna happen,” he mumbled to himself before joining Steve on the couch and pulling him close.

“get out.” - s. harrington x reader (OLD VERSION)
Steve tells you to get out of the car because of a disagreement. (asshole!steve, best friend!eddie, a bit of stancy) —just a blurb blurb
NEW VERSION NOW POSTED!
“It’s the same fucking thing all the time with you,” you complained.
You didn’t know how you landed yourself in this again. When you agreed to date Steve for the first
time many months ago, he promised that you had nothing to worry about; that he was loyal to you and that you will both work on communication.
“And it’s the same shit with you. You’re always fucking—complaining about things that I can’t control,” he replied, swerving away from the trashbin that he almost hit. “Fuck!”
It was just some party, some stupid party that you both agreed to go to. Well, Steve wanted to go because his friends will be there. Robin, Eddie, and Nancy. The thing was, Nancy didn’t do anything. She just needed a friend because Jonathan had been dodgy and Steve was there. In fact, you love Nancy but Steve and her together in the bedroom of Phil Newton’s house? Not so much.
The worst part is, Steve had no plans to tell you. It wasn’t until you asked Robin where your boyfriend was that she answered, “I’m not supposed to tell you this so, please don’t tell Steve. He’s in Phil’s bedroom with Nancy.”
God, it filled you with dread. Worst case scenario—Nancy and Steve were fucking after professing that they still have feelings for each other.  But still, Steve promised. Right? So, you went upstairs and knocked on the door multiple times. Steve opened it with guilt written all over his face. Guilt dissolves into annoyance and you braced yourself.
“What,” he asked, his face tight. He was annoyed with Robin, really. She was the only one who knew where he was. He needed to comfort Nancy because Jonathan isn’t coming back to Hawkins for the break. You were taken aback by his snarky attitude.
“I, is everything okay?”
“Yeah. Do you need anything?”
“Can we go home?” you asked. You hated tonight. You didn’t want to come here and Eddie left you for Nancy as soon as she areived with Robin. You were left to drink some lukewarm punch by the sofa. You saw Eddie but he was too busy dealing and you didn’t want to be a bother.
“Sure. Here are the keys. Go start the car and I’ll be down in ten minutes,” he replied, giving you the key before closing the door again.
You stood there, dumbfounded before stomping your way to his car. You would’ve left but you didn’t know where you were. Phil lived in the outskirts of Hawkins and Steve was supposed to be your ride. You slammed the door of Steve’s BMW when Eddie
“I can hear you stomping from the pool,” Eddie teased, leaning on the passenger window. “What’s wrong?”
“Steve is wrong,” you frowned. “He dragged me all the way here and ditched me as soon as he found Nancy. They’re upstairs,”
“Damn,” Eddie replied. Even he couldn’t provide comforting words. “Well, you’re with me. Super cool, super nice me,”
“Didn’t you sell me double the price when we first met?” you asked. True but it was an old gag that you shared with him. “I still haven’t received my rebates,”
“I give you enough free stuff, sweets. I should be the one getting rebates. I’m thinking of milkshakes,” he said, eyes widening. “I could just taste it! Oh, chocolate milkshake and because you’re so nice, burgers. I’ll pick you up tomorrow,”
“Eddie! I didn’t agree—“
“Yeah, yeah but you owe me.” he replied. “Also, did you know? I went to Lover's Lake the other day, right? Guess who I saw fucking in the woods. That
cheerleader with blonde hair and that kid from English? The one that reads loudly to himself,”
“No way,”
“Yes, way. I saw them! With my own eyes!” he exclaimed, making you chuckle loudly. Steve was frowning from behind Eddie. You looked so miserable when you talked to him earlier and now that you’re with Eddie you’re fucking laughing? Steve watched your smile fade away as he neared, his frown deepening. Eddie looked back, and whistled. “Hey, Steve,”
“Munson,” Steve replied. “Girlfriend and I are leaving,”
“Oh,” Eddie replied, nodding. He looks at you and mouths “scary”, making you laugh and Eddie leaves, jogging back to the pool for business.
That was how you found yourself in this situation, eyes and knees away from Steve, watching the dark trees blur at the speed of his car.
“Can’t control? I told you that your relationship with Nancy is bothering me and I find you alone in a room together?” you asked.
“It’s not like I can just say ‘Sorry, Nance. My girlfriend is so jealous of you, she doesn’t want us spending time together. Or should I?” Steve asked, venom dripping in his voice. “It’s the same shit with you and Eddie,”
“No, it isn’t. Eddie and I are friends. You weren’t there when everyone knows you were with Nancy in Phil’s fucking bedroom. Everyone except for me!” you replied, your voice raising in volume. “Same fucking shit, Steve. Same shit and I’m so tired of fighting.”
“You shouldn’t have come to the party, then,” he mutters and you pause, counting to ten to calm yourself down.
“It was you who wanted me there, remember? I didn’t want to attend that party but you dragged me. You ditched me the moment Nancy arrived. Do you remember? I don’t…I’m nit even sure if I want to be in the same soace with you right now.” you heaved, tears springing up your eyes. Steve could only hear how you didn’t want to be with him. Slowing down some street, you looked at him in confusion. You just really wanted to go home.
“Get the fuck out,” he mutters, looking at anywhere but you.
“Wh-what?”
“Get the fuck out,” he repeated. “You don’t want to be with me right? So get out.”
You stilled, looking at your surroundings. There was nothing but harrowing trees and a lone light. You nodded, rushing out of the door and watching as Steve sped away from you. When he was far enough, you let your shoulders deflate and sobbed. Where did it all go wrong? Steve was never like this with anyone. Why did he…dislike you so much? You walked back to the party, trying to remember the way.
It was so dark and Steve knew how much you hated walking in it. You didn’t know where you were and Steve knew how much you hated being lost. There were no sounds but the creek and the hooting of the owls and Steve knew how much you hated the silence.
Wrapping your arms to protect you from the darkness and the silence, you walked. You were rushing back because you didn’t know where you were and you were scared; so fucking scared of the night. You’ve been walking for how many minutes now and you could’ve called but there were no payphones anywhere. It was just the occasional street lamp and nothing else. Would you even risk hitching a ride if a car passes by?
“Fuck!” you cried, sobbing uncontrollably when your arm hung itself on some stray wire by the abandoned bus stop. The sting rips through your whole body, limping until the trees looked somewhat familiar.
Soon, you followed the loud bass of the speakers. Kids your age spilled out of the house and you followed from where they came from. The party. You were back from where you started. You shuddered, hoping to God that Eddie was there. Or maybe Robin. Fuck, Nancy, if she was the last resort. You just really wanted to go home.
It was Robin and Eddie who found you by the door. Apparently, there was some chick by the pool who was crying to herself. Descriptions matched what you wore that night and how you looked; there was no other choice than to rush to you. Sure enough, when they ran to the pool, you were there siyting by the edge. Black tears ran down your face, a scowl settled on your lips as you shielded yourself away from the world. Robin noticed the red on your arm, rushing towards your hunched figure.
Eddie was hot on her tails, hiding you under  his arms to quiet you down. They led you to Eddie’s van without any words; what should be explained anyway? Isn’t it enough? Your friends looked at each other while your body shook with sadness and frustration.
“S-sorry,” you managed, and you felt Eddie’s grim on your shoulder tighten.
“It’s okay,” Robin replied, opening the door for you. You curled into her when they were settled, Eddie starting his van to drive you back home.
“What happened?” Robin asked. Eddie’s eyes snapped towards you and she was about to say sorry when you replied.
“Steve told me to get out of his car in the middle of nowhere and left me,” you managed between sobs. Their hearts broke. You looked so small and forlorn; so defeated and empty. “I just wanted to go home. I don’t even want to anymore because he might be there.”
“It’s okay. We can go back to the trailer. You can share the bed with Robin and I’ll sleep on the couch.” Eddie assured before driving the trailer park with a crying girl on the passenger seat.

step-father!william who fucks you at every given opportunity, whenever your mother is, or, scarily enough, without your mother out of the house.
when she's not home, the both of you have more breathing room to do whatever you want to do. he'll bend you over the kitchen counter and pound you until you're screaming his name and making a mess of yourself and his cock. "that's it, baby girl, come all over me," he'd praise. or sometimes you would watch a movie, but you wouldn't get very far before he has you on the couch, too. usually, there he has you in missionary, or sometimes he likes to bend your legs in half or put them above his shoulders. he likes to grunt praises such as "you're so good for me" or call you "baby doll" and "sweet girl."
but when your mom is home is a whole different story. for some reason, sex with william is even better, rougher. it's definitely the danger of being caught, too. he takes you on your own bed, fucking you roughly from behind. he degrades you, shames you for being so wet. "look at you, so horny for daddy," he whispers in your ear before biting your lobe. he has a hand in your hair, burying your face in the pillows while he hits it from the back. the noises of his hips slapping against your ass is absolutely obscene. "gonna have to be quiet, angel, don't want to get caught, or do you? by the way you're moaning it sure as hell seems like it."

Eddie notices things.
He might be loud and brash, might be over the top and his mouth might run away before his brain can kick in, but he still notices things.
He likes the details. Loves a fantasy world that’s so detailed it’s believable. Loves a tiny detail in a story that becomes relevant two hundred pages later. Loves a detail in a puzzle in a DnD game. He loves the minutia of everything.
So he notices these details about people. Mostly because Eddie likes to create people. He likes to write his own stories, likes to make his DnD characters real...foibles and all. Any time Eddie is alone, or bored, or waiting, sometimes he looks around and thinks, ‘if I were writing this, how would I describe it?’ And then he does...he writes in his head about the tree he can see, what the weather is doing right now, how he would describe the quality of the sunlight or the way the rain rattles against the window. He watches complete strangers and writes out their whole life in his head. Eddie likes the details, and he likes to create characters, and he also thinks, a lot of the time, you write what you know.
So yeah, Eddie pays attention to the people around him. How they dress, how they behave, if they bite their nails or chew pen lids. If they stand straight or lounge against the nearest wall or counter. How they cradle their smoke in their hand when it’s breezy out.
All the little details he can build into characters he makes in his mind.
Steve’s calendar interests him. It probably shouldn’t, that stuff would be private if it wasn’t for the fact that it’s hanging in Steve’s kitchen where anyone can see it. Plus the fact that it is just a calendar and there for by it’s nature isn’t very interesting. Eddie thinks he finds it interesting just by the virtue that it’s to do with Steve Harrington, and therefore it immediately becomes very interesting to Eddie.
It’s got big pages, a decent amount of space to write in every day. And Steve has. Every single day.
There’s a pattern to it that Eddie deciphers pretty fast; his shift at work is on the top line; it’s in red. Next is anything to do with the kids, and it’s in green; picking the kids up or meeting them or going to a game for Lucas or basically anything like that. Then blue, and that seems to be stuff to do with Eddie himself, Robin, Nancy, if he needs to meet them, give them a ride somewhere, or just times to hang out.
The bottom line is in black, and it’s stuff like, ‘hoover’, ‘do laundry’, ‘bathroom,’ ‘kitchen’, ‘groceries,’ followed by a little note that seems to be about whatever Steve plans to have for dinner that night.
Below it is a note pad, also hanging up, with an in process grocery list on it. Eddie knows why all this is here; Steve’s forgetful.
If Steve makes plans, he immediately writes it down; Eddie’s seen it for himself.
Eddie sees it too, when Steve’s struggling to hear. If too many people speak at once, or if there’s too much background noise, Steve doesn’t stand a chance.
If he’s not looking at you when you’re speaking to him, chances are, he might not be hearing you. Which, okay, Eddie’s just kind of rolling with it.
Until they get together. No one was more surprised by this turn of events than Eddie, who was convinced that he was just going to pine after Steve forever and that would just be how things were for the rest of his life. That was right up until Steve Harrington held his hand and just sort of...seemed to forget to let go.
Eddie hasn’t pointed it out to him yet, he’s still kind of worried that if he points out the fact that they’re kind of, sort of, dating, Steve might realize and stop again. So yeah, Eddie rides the wave, not at all freaking out when Steve invites him over for dinner and a movie like that’s just a normal thing they do now. Because it is. Because they’re kind of dating.
There’s no answer, but that’s pretty normal, the front door is unlocked a lot of the time, Steve doesn’t want to hinder anyone's entry if there’s any kind of emergency going on, and it’s totally normal now for any of them to just wander into Steve’s house.
Steve is cooking; Eddie can smell it. He stands in the kitchen doorway and says Steve’s name. And predictably, Steve doesn’t react.
Eddie takes this as an opportunity to gauge this. He says Steve’s name a little louder; still nothing.
Eddie tries four times, a step closer and a little louder each time, until the last time, when Steve spins around so fast the spoon he’s holding splatters sauce on the counter top and his other hand flies to his chest, “holy shit.”
“Sorry,” Eddie rubs at Steve’s arm and shoulder as he gets his breathing under control, “you couldn’t hear me.”
Steve shrugs, “it’s fine.”
“Stevie…you could at least, you know, go get them checked, or whatever.”
Steve hums, "maybe, if you go with me," and Eddie's quick to agree, because he gets a kiss out of it.

I want more platonic stobin and bisexualy disaster Steve and gay disaster Eddie in my life. So I wrote some :)
Steve wanted to scream as he tried the handle again. "Steve. Steve!" Robin pulled him away from the door. "They aren't opening the door, and you're just gonna break the handle. Keith already hates your guts. Don't make it worse." She pointed out, weirdly calm about all of this. "Plus, it's not like we don't share space normally." She says and sinks down to the floor, tugging him down with her.
Steve looked at the door, "Why can't they accept that we're only ever going to be platonic?" He asks and runs a ran through his hair. He was sick of this. Of the comments and the teasing. It stresses him out.
They kept pushing the two of them together, and Steve was worried that it could mess up what friendship he had with Robin. Because Steve's used to messing up and hurting someone, and he really doesn't want to hurt Robin. He has nightmares of outing her by accident and ruining her life. It terrifies him.
"Steve, come on, it's okay. It's just a stupid bathroom. We've shared a bathroom stall. This is bigger than that." She jokes, and he pulls his knees up to his chest.
"I can't do this, Rob." He admits and watches her freeze. Her walls climbed up like he said something really stupid. "I'm sorry, but I'm just-"
She cuts him off, "I get it. You don't want to deal with the backlash of being a lesbian's friend." She says, and he blinks.
"What? No! I don't want to say the wrong thing. I get bitchy when I'm annoyed and I'm easily annoyed when I'm stressed. And I'm stressed! So I don't - I can't be the one to out you. I can't mess that up for you." He says, and it's nice to finally admit his fears.
Robin blinks at him, "That's what- Steve, that's what bothers you about all this?"
Steve nods, "I mess up everything I touch. I can't do that to you, I won't do that to you. Honestly, you should probably find better friends. One who thinks with his brai-"
"Shut up." Robin snaps, and he stops speaking. Looking at her with wide eyes. "You can't talk about my best friend that way. I won't let you," She states.
"You're best friend?"
Her eyes soften, "yeah dingus. Who else would be my best friend? We're soulmates," She decides, and he's confused because she sounds like she means it. "Platonic, with a capital p, soulmates."
He swallows back a ball of emotion, "even if all the kids I babysit-"
"Mother."
"Babysit," he stresses, and she smiles. "Try to get us together at every opportunity and won't believe that we aren't in love. Or that I'm in love with you at the least. I think you're better off because you call me dingus more than my name," he mused.
Robin sighed, "I won't say that it's not annoying. But I'm used to dodging questions about boys, and this way... with you, I have someone to be myself with. That's more important to me than some stupid preteens who think locking us in a bathroom would get us together."
Steve smiles, "last time we shared a bathroom did go pretty well, honestly." She knocked her knee into his. He glanced over at the door. "Do you think they'll give up?"
Robin snorts, "Dustin's more invested in your love life than you are. I don't think he'll give up unless you're dating someone else or the truth comes out."
Steve sighed, chewing his lower lip until something clicked in his head. "What If I come out?"
Robin blinked, "you- what?"
Steve nodded, "I mean I like both but I could just say I favor guys." He shrugs, "it's not like they could disprove it since it's mostly true."
Robin stared at him, "Steve... since when did you- what? Steve oh my god," She shifted onto her knees and slammed into him. "Since fucking when! Why didn't you ever tell me!"
Steve raised an eyebrow, "what do you mean since when? I literally point out hot guys all the time! When we watched watched Rocky Horror, I said Tim Curry was sexy!"
She shook his shoulders, "you did no such thing! You ask if I also think a guy is hot and you said- oh." It clicks for her and she falls back on her ass. She covers her face, "holy shit."
Steve smirks, "holy shit."
A giggle escapes her lips, "you so have a type."
"Shut up," he groans.
But before they can really dig into it, there's a loud knock on the door. "We're gonna open the door in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1!" The door swings in a Dustin's hand is over his eyes like he's gonna be scarred at the sight of them.
"We're literally just sitting on the floor Henderson. Not having freaky bathroom sex," Steve rolls his eyes and stands, Robin following suit.
Dustin looks upset like he expect his plan to work. "I don't get it." Steve ruffles his hair as he passes the kid. Robin lets out a small laugh as she stretches her limbs like she had been stuck in there for more than just 15 minutes. Steve turns, and she locks eyes with him, a silent question.
"Kid, I've said this a million times, but I'll say it one more time." He glances at the other kids that had either always been there or gotten here at some point since he'd been locked into the bathroom. "Robin and I will never date. She and I have no romantic feelings for each other. And if you pull this shit when we're at work again, I'll kill you."
"It's not like it was hard to figure out how to check someone out," Max shrugged and Steve huffed at her nonchalant grin from behind the counter.
Steve ushers the kids out from behind the counter before taking his normal spot, looking around at the empty store. Robin moves and bumps shoulders with him. "Platonic feelings only." She gestures between them.
Dustin groan, "I just don't get why!"
Steve glances at Robin, "because I'm too gay for her." He states and everyone goes quiet. "Honestly boobies are so high school." He winks at Robin who looks at him like he's bravely stupid.
"Wait but you dated Nancy?" Mike questioned arms over his chest.
Steve rolled his eyes, "so? I am more picky on who I date. Doesn't matter the gender. Robin doesn't tick my boxes."
"But she should!" Dustin complains and Robin groans.
But then Steve sees someone in the windows, heading towards the doors to Family video. "My type is more," and he just gestures just as the door dings to call their attention to the newcomer.
Eddie Munson glances at the kids and then at Steve. "Sheepies," he says. Eyebrows raised in confusion at the eyes on him. Eddie glanced at Steve, "Harrington, you break the kids?" He asks as all the kids continue to stare at him as he moves to the horror section.
Steve waves his hand, like he can brush off the confusion. "Nah, they're just shocked that I'm not completely in love with Birdie over here."
Everyone's jaw is on the floor as Steve leans his arms on the counter, not even bothering to hide the way he checks Eddie out when the man looks away. "Right," Eddie sighs and grabs a movie. "Well, not everyone's type is jocks." Eddie teases slightly, having warmed up to Steve little by little when Steve picks the kids up from Hellfire.
Steve takes the movie from Eddie, giving him his one free movie he gets for the week and hands it back to Eddie without charging him. "I'll win ya over." He winks, and Eddie's eyes go a little wide.
Eyes glanced around like he could ask if anyone else saw that. "Um, well, yeah, how-how much for the-"
"Consider it on me." Steve waved his hand and then leaned more into Eddie's space, "I haven't seen this one yet."
Eddie swallows, "You should check it out. It's, uh, pretty good."
Steve smiles, "I'm shit with horror, maybe if I had someone to hold my hand through it." He sighs overdramatically, then snaps, "Oh, I know! If you're not busy we could watch it together. I mean, it seems like a scary metalhead like yourself would be capable of holding my hand through the jump scares."
Eddie's eyes are blinking rapidly, "it's for the boys." He says, looking lost. Steve frowns, and Eddie jumps into action, "But I could-" He stops himself and groans. "I've got to- plans- fuck-" He stumbles and practically smacks into the door in his rush to leave family video.
Steve sighs and leans his head down on the counter. Robin pats his back, "I miss my whiteboard." She sighs and he looks up to glare at her.
