Diluc pauses at your request. play with his hair? why him, in particular? there are several others who have long hair. some have silky-smooth hair, unlike his fluffy and messy head of hair. are you sure you wouldn't prefer someone else's hair to run your fingers through?

he responds anyway, "...of course, your grace."

it only takes a few moments before he's kneeling on a pillow in front of your throne. his head rests in your lap, left cheek resting against your right thigh.

your hands gently brush over his hair to the back of his head. you pull the hair tie out from his hair, now gingerly carding your fingers through it.

"your hair is so soft, Diluc," you say warmly, eyes twinkling with a fond look.

Diluc can feel his skin burning at the compliment, a brilliant red blush taking over his whole upper body. he looks away from your face in favour of closing his eyes.

you scratch lightly at his scalp before rubbing in slow circles with the pads of your fingers. his furrowed brow relaxes. a satisfied hum echoes from him.

you're sure if he was a cat that he'd be purring.

the pspspsps effectively got me. Im in. You’ve got me hooked. Now I present the new idea I just got for the language barrier au. You know how the genshin names have different meanings in different language like how Ei apparently means egg in german? Imagine speaking in another language/you native language and one of the words sounds really similar to one of the character’s names or just straight up is their name, so they ask why you call them but you’re not calling that character but are actually saying smth else like egg.

I think i talked abt this sometime ago in 2023 masterpost, so i felt more inclined to share some shitty art of how i imagine these moments go instead lmao

(it should be very assumed atp that i am so so SO sorry i took forever to reply!! /gen)

2am Comfort

notes : i wrote a shorter version of this a few months ago but i deleted it and decided to re‐purpose the idea, so here this is. kuroo just looks so boyfriend. so warm.

you jolt awake in moments. a cold sweat is slick against your skin, but simultaneously the covers over you feel too hot. it's far too hot.

bleary‐eyed and heart still beating a quick rhythm against your ribcage, you toss the covers to the side and stumble out of bed.

the room is dark, the only light in the room is coming from the red LED lights from your alarm clock, reading <1:24AM>.

you nearly trip over some clutter you have on your bedroom floor while heading to the hallway. you walk down the hall, pushing open the door to the bathroom and flicking the light switch on.

you stare at your delirious and exhausted reflection for no more than a few moments. you turn on the faucet in the sink, cupping your hands together under it. you splash your face with the chilly water a few times, running your wrists under the flowing water as well.

after standing for a few moments in the silence of the hall bathroom, you contemplate what to do next. just go back to bed? get dressed for the day like nothing happened?

...call someone?

you decide on the last option, but settle for texting someone rather than calling. as for who to call... you easily choose Kuroo. currently awake or not, you knew he wouldn't be mad at you for texting this early.

you turn off the faucet, dry your face, flip the light switch, and head back down the hall to your room.

once inside, you close the door behind you and search beside your bed for your phone. you find it wedged between your bed and the bedside table after a minute.

hey

i know it's early

but can i come over?

a few moments pass. you spend them sorting through the notifications you've gotten throughout the night.

good morning to you too.

and yes, you can come over. is everything okay?

you puff a sigh of relief at his response.

not really

i had a nightmare

he responds seconds later.

oh. that's not good.

do you want me to meet you halfway?

or i could pick you up?

you smile slightly at his concern. he's always been a sweetheart when it mattered.

nah, it's cool

i need to grab a few things and i'll be there soon

maybe 20 minutes?

you glance at the clock again. it reads <1:30AM>.

okay, see you soon. be safe.

you leave him on read in favour of packing a bag. you toss a change of clothes and some toiletries into it, deciding that you don't have enough energy to change right now. you also put some things you might want later today, like your wallet, your school work binder, and your school textbook.

you wonder your best route of escape. the front or back door is the easiest, but... you might wake up someone in your household. you give barely thought to it before you decide on using your bedroom window. your bedroom is on the first floor anyway.

you quietly sneak down the hall to fetch your tennis shoes, slipping them on once you're back in your room again. you hoist your back onto your shoulder and unlock the window to open it.

you try to slip out the window as quietly as possible, to not potentially wake up any of your family (if any of them are even home). your shirt catches on the windowsill and you struggle to hold yourself still for a moment.

as it seems, your effort is in vain, as you promptly tumble out of the first story window and into the bushes right under it. the bush mostly breaks your fall, but your phone and house keys fell out of your pockets. and you can feel the sharp leaves digging into your skin through your shirt.

you quietly curse under your breath as you reach up to close the window behind you. then you climb out of the bush with a scowl.

you spend a few moments shuffling around in the dark, hands brushing over the top of the mulch of the flowerbeds. you find the loop of your key ring first, then your phone shortly after. with your belongings back in your possession, you finally stand up and brush off your disheveled clothes.

thank god it's saturday. you think with a grumpy frown.

brushing off your phone before slipping it into your pocket, you also take a moment to look around the cramped neighbourhood you live in. you've been here for a few years now, but you still can't find it in yourself to call this place home.

you shake your head in an attempt to clear your thoughts. i need to get to Kuroo's place. it's too dark and dangerous for me to be out right now. you mentally remind yourself.

your pace is something between speed‐walking and jogging as you make your way down the sidewalk. you spend just over fifteen minutes weaving between houses and through alleyways. by the time you reach your destination, your thoughts are mostly muddled and fogged like a static tv.

you think to knock but, considering it's nearly two in the morning, you decide not to. you opt to pull out your phone instead.

you send a quick text to Kuroo to tell him you're outside, and the front door quietly squeaks open to reveal him in the flesh.

"hey." he offers a grin and opens the door wider so you can step inside.

you stay in place to ponder an idea that just came to you, then you step forward and wrap your arms around his ribs. it doesn't take longer than a second before his arms are wrapping around you too.

he takes a few slow steps backwards, your feet following with his. when you both are far enough inside he nudges the door shut with his foot.

still in a hug, Kuroo squeezes you lightly and leans down so you can still hear his soft words, "c'mon, let's head to my room. we can cuddle if you want."

"okay," you breathe softly, hesitantly letting go of him. he instead slips his hand into yours and leads you through the dim rooms of his home.

you climb the stairs together, and you can already tell which room is his. the door at the end of the hall has a lamp turned on inside, the light pouring from the half‐open door and into the hallway.

you've been in Kuroo's room enough times to be familiar with his decor and slight clutter. you aren't surprised to see notebooks flipped open, tabbed textbooks, and loose leafs of lined paper scattered across his desk.

you make quick work of taking off your shoes and removing your jacket. you drop your bag by the door with little care of what happens to its contents, kicking your shoes into a messy pile next to it and throwing your jacket over it.

you easily climb into Kuroo's bed like it was always yours. once you've gotten comfortable, you look up to see Kuroo leaning against the doorframe watching you with a corny grin. you make grabby hands at him and his grin widens.

Kuroo doesn't bother moving anything upon his desk, instead he turns off the lights and slink into bed with you. he easily wraps his arms around you and curls closer around you.

"thank you."

Kuroo smiles softly at your mumbled words, his thumbs gingerly rubbing circles on your back. he kisses your forehead as you whine in response.

"i'm always here."

half‐asleep, you utter, "love you."

Kuroo kisses your forehead again and says, "i love you, too."

Just a small annoucement for the winner, though I'm sure we all saw the results lol

Have a snippet, hope you enjoy!

*disclaimer: subject to change, this is a draft, no finalized version yet.

At least, you were pretty sure of where you were now. But that didn't mean it made any more sense. You hadn't recognized it at first, but the Irminsul was unmistakable after a minute of looking at it and the surrounding blue. The lights were incredible, with sparkles and stars floating up from the ground. Strange, nearly mechanical patterns flared out from its branches. The only difference between the Irminsul in-game versus the real one you see now is the rapid swelling and filling out of its trunk. As you had woken up more and more, ignoring the strange state of your body for now, it had let out weirdly nostalgic noises. Like a computer booting up, and a million other digital pings or tunes as it grew. As you tentatively reach a hand out to touch the trunk, a familiar book materializes. The dark blue pages flip to the first page instead of to the middle of the book. ...isn't this usually the really obscure "Archives" animation from the Paimon settings page? What's it doing here?? In gold writing that hovers slightly above the pages, your (presumed) stats display. The eerily familiar Genshin Impact font rapidly types itself out from left to right. /gamemode: admin *Executing... *Executing... *Loading... *Loading... *... *...Success! *Your gamemode has been changed. " Player." [ADMIN.] EXP: 1000000#%$+??? DEF: ?%@****+~?? ATTK: ??*!!%^<=+? POWERS: - ??";*&%[]\/%? - &%#@?<_++}] - ~`*(-_+}|\\!!??^& ...you decide to stop looking at your... stats, for now. Because more importantly, as you pull your hand back from the book (letting it float in place in front of the Irminsul trunk again), you notice something even more off. Your hand. It's... wrong. As you trail your eyes up your arm, you choke back a sense of panic. Sure enough, when you bring the right arm over to poke and try to smear the seemingly black paint that drenches your left arm, it too is covered in black. Your arms are pitch black. And as you attempt to touch your forearm for more answers, only to phase through it... you begin to think maybe this is not, in fact, paint. And as you realize you are hovering, instead of standing in place, you begin to think this is, in fact, the very real world of Genshin Impact. ...you decide to lay back down on the weird blue ground (?) and take a nap.

Maybe start today over.

You mentioned that you like people sharing blurbs so I thought I’d share one!

In Sagau I imagined the statues of the creator to have an aura around it. Like it changes depending on their mood. so sometimes people will visit the statues to feel closer to the creator or to talk to the statue. It would be customary to visit the statues when one is really happy to share their happiness with the creator. Which would cause little bursts of happiness within the creators everyday life.

I just thought it was a sweet headcanon to share! I hope you have a good day!

this is actualy the best headcanon, i love worldbuilding stuff like this, like reader having statues/how ppl treat them/emotive statues like?? genius??

idk if yall are into the ship, but the worldbuilding in this zhongli/childe fic goes so hard, and this kinda reminded me of how the author descibed genuine/"filling" offerings to the gods being like, less of a business transaction and more of a, "i got so happy seeing all the flowers i handmade a flower crown just to share it with you!" and THATS what you give a god to give them a satisfying meal

Imagine creator reader but no divine presence or aura that makes people crumble at the knees.

Reader just spawns in at wolvendom like a fly and meets diluc for no important reason i just love diluc then pow we can alter character builds then discover that my husband has the bell and instructors set on 😲

Creator freaks out cause wtf this is NOT the build i put on my diluc and hes standing there like ‘what psychopath did i just meet..’ so wow what no way creator reader just happens to have a 2 piece crimson witch in their inventory.

Reader: ‘You’re probably gonna leave me here but theres a hillichurl camp near by you dont want the knights of favonius to get to it first right’

Dilucs mad suspicious but hes a good civilian and puts his vision to use and absolutely destroys the hilichurls

Hes doing like 19x the amount of damage he normally would and word gets around that theres some random lady that makes people uncomprehendingly strong

I wanted to maybe do a 10-5 days count down for New Years or something fun (dw id write it in advance so I'm not slow lmao)
