Victor’s - Moody Date

Hello! This is my entry for @little-butterfly-writes ‘s Contest . It’s my first time writing and I really enjoyed the process of it, enjoy reading this date!

Fandom: MLQC - Victor Li x Duckie (Mc)

Genre : jealousy jealousy jealousy , comfort , Filled with romance ( fluff)

As If its not obvious enough to everybody.

I have feelings towards my boss, victor Li. I did fall in love with a person that I know i can’t reach even if i had him in my wildest dreams. I all i am wishing for is that no one know about these hidden feelings hoping that i will be able to maintain the decision i took and forget about him, But unfortunately things goes unplanned after I experienced certain feeling. jealousy .

If Kiki , Anna , the rest of my friends and colleagues found out about my secret feelings including the letters I wrote about victor secretly , I would get in big trouble , what letters you may ask? It’s simple. Basically, when i feel like I can’t control the love i feel towards him . I write down all my feelings in a letter and hide it somewhere , i got this idea from a movie i watched last year. At first , I haven’t thought not in a million years that I would use this idea and especially writing my unwanted feelings towards my CEO ,Aka victor li .

He was very strict and seemed to be very rude, i used to hate on him . He isn’t my type in men plus we’re completely different. Its not a big surprise since he is the CEO of an worldwide successful company ,LFG.

Just to clarify our differences. He made his company from the beginning meanwhile me, A young lady who inherited a show from her father once she Graduated from college. I didn’t even have an experience in life or the business field.

Everything were so difficult to me and it felt like an endless maze , the fact that I have him as my investor was like a miracle . Not only that but he really take good care of me . He is older in age , with a mature mindset . I am just young reckless, hesitant and inexperienced girl who just got a big position and so naive comparing to what she is responsible for .

I thought alot about giving up but victor make me change my mind and Instead of giving up he gave me the motivation to challenge him , i was in the mood to show him and prove to him that i can take the harsh responsibilities like an adult And be someone who is trust worthy enough to have his five hundred million investment in my show .

With time, i fall in love with him. And with everyday goes by it only grows bigger and bigger than the day before. The more i try to hide my feelings. The more it becomes obvious . When he confessed his feelings to me that day in the rooftop. I was beyond happy. I couldn’t sleep that day. But I quickly get back to the harsh reality, and remembered the huge gap between us, Victor deserve someone near to his position. Not me, comparing to him i am just a crybaby who rant about submitting reports and dealing with the deadlines every week .

But one day, I don’t know what’s goes inside my brain . I couldn’t even control my own body. When i found out that Victor would go to the awards banquet with another woman, I stopped thinking and I couldn’t care less about how weird i am behaving with my colleagues . In that night , i saw victor leaving the fancy banquet hall with another woman.

She looks way more mature and wiser than me. To put it in simple words she has everything i lack, and to my unfortunate luck. She does everything way better than me . And tonight , I witnessed My heart sinking in the ground. Its like i just got drenched in icy cold water in this snowy weather . I drank Alot . Wine, whiskey and even brandy . I couldn’t even recognize the bitterness in them . I just drink to be numb and ease my heart.

When the banquet came to an end ..

“ you two can head home first, its late . The weather is pretty today so i just want to walk and be alone for some time “ I spoke with a shaky voice tone, then left after grabbing my hand bag from the table.

“ whats wrong with our boss? She’s has been acting weird these few days especially today” Kiki spoke to anna.

Anna were worried as well , she just shrugs in confusion replying to kikis question.

“ i have never seen her like that before!” Anna added

“ it’s dangerous to let her be alone !, we can’t just leave her there! “ kiki said

“ she wanted time to get her self together, I think its very inappropriate for us to interrupt her wishes . * she smiled * Don’t worry minor would keep his eyes on her from afar “ Anna said while patting Kiki s shoulder gently to comfort her .

After leaving them. i rushed to the back beautiful garden to try and process everything happened tonight , the scenery were amazing but I couldn’t focus and appreciate it , I started regretting what i did, I shouldn’t push him away acting dumb and slow from the beginning. I love him more than anything, I admit i am very jealous and I don’t know how to deal with it because its my first time feeling this way about someone. I have never wanted someone as much I do for Victor.

These feelings were so exhausting to bear alone ,I was so hopeless that i even shared my story anonymously in tumbler with people but everyone advised me to stay away and forget about him for endless reasons. Yeah, they were right. But..

I also can’t… I CANT STOP LOVING HIM AND GIVE UP ON THIS . people wont have mercy on us and our relationship since we are a boss and worker in love but now seeing this . Realizing I might lose him forever. I don’t care, seeing him taking care of a random woman and accompanying her in the banquet really make me rethink about everything and even that thoughtful decision i took and was so confident about . I decided to head to the parking section for cars to follow them. I started running like crazy .

“GOD PLEASE PLEASE LET ME MAKE IT , PLEASE DONT LET THEM LEAVE TOGETHER ! . PLEASE.. I CANT LOSE HIM THIS TIME” i said begging .

I can lose anything and everything, but not him. I can’t lose Victor!

Because no one loved me like he did And I can’t imagine falling in love again with a different man.

Suddenly my foot slipped and i fall.

The expensive pair of high heel that i brought got ruined too. One of them broke But I couldn’t stop here! Im still in the middle of the way . My legs started be numb and it hurt a little because these shoes were new too , But I didn’t care, I can’t lose the path that can lead me to them! I still have to find Victor!

When i reached to the cars parking space , I couldn’t find them…

My nose suddenly started to burn and my eyes started sweating?, i decided to go back inside the banquet and sit . I couldn’t find chair there so I went to sit the corner on the stairs like a lost child. I started to cry heartily like a baby who lost her parents . But for me comparing to the baby I lost everything, I lost Victor..

My body is shaking and I couldn’t stop the thoughts in my mind. My mind went wild and started to even imagining how they would look together in the church . Kissing each other passionately after announcing them as a husband and wife. My heart suddenly started to beat so fast and I began to struggle breathing , while sobbing quietly.

Suddenly i felt a warm coat landed on my head, shoulders and has familiar manly scent ..

my face were swallowed, especially my eyes and nose. I was slow to react and realizing that this coat belongs to him…. And only him. Victor..

I felt strange feeling , i was happy and relieved that i was able to meet him again.. and that happiness give me strange feelings in my tummy . I believe that’s what they call “butterflies in the stomach” , I felt really warm. I don’t think it’s because of that coat. But him. Who give them his scent and body temperature

“ * sigh helplessly at the view* Dummy.. what are you doing here in this condition ? Don’t you know it’s dangerous area, especially in this hour? What if someone came for you ? Or even decided to kidnap you ,taking you away ? What are going to do? I searched everywhere for you and I couldn’t find you its like you weren’t in this earth from the beginning , WHERE THE HECK YOU WERE??? ………. But most importantly are you okay? Did something happen?……… Duckie , are you crying? “

my eyes couldn’t stop the tears from coming out when he were talking in such an sharp voice, he was really worried so he was furious to see me in such a state alone , but when he noticed that i was crying so hard, sniffing and wiping my eyes his voice turned so soft and calm

he grabbed my hands and hold them between his hands to warm them up

I refused to talk or face him because i wasn’t looking at my best right now, he just kneeled down to my level like prince charming and looked at me, he noticed how swallowed and red my face are.. he reached with his hands to hold my cheeks while massaging my under eyes

“ do they hurt A lot? “ he said quietly ,

I nodded while looking in the ground, my eyes fell upon his shoes trying to avoid his glare.

“If you don’t want to tell me, that’s fine too. Lets go home first … its getting late” he said..

I nodded because i was too tired to reply using sentences . I stand and remembered my broken heels and slightly injured foot.

Before I could explain, Victor carried me bridal style , I didn’t needed to explain anything. I felt warm , safe and happy, that I forget that I’m being held between his arms . I gave up to the warm sensation and fall asleep.

Victor put me in his car gently , wrapping my body with his big coat then went to grab hot tea and body warmers from the super market near by.

i took some time to wake up, when i wake up i was still in his car , the car was really warm. I didn’t find Victor on the driver seat so i looked outside.

i saw him tapping on his tablet working and answering calls . I also noticed that we’re near the sea and its 12am . I took my time appreciating the view , then i knocked at the window. Victor saw me and returned to the car.

“ you wake up, how do you feel now ? “ he asked with a soft voice

“ i am better now , sorry for making a scene back there. I was really upset about something so i was drunk , angry and upset thats why I decided to be alone , sorry i worried you and caused you trouble “i said while looking into his eyes.

“ dummy… And why did you drink? “ he said angrily ..

“ please don’t be mad i was just so upset, can’t you just allow me to drink only this time?” I said

“ yes, i am angry at you… but also glad to see you safe and better. After all , i can’t ask for more from dummy like you” victor said then poked the tip of my nose lightly with his fingers , after that he patted my head gently, smiling at me .

“ its late, let’s head home” he said

After few minutes driving i realized that we are in different path and its unfamiliar to me.

“ where are we going “ i asked hesitantly ..

“ to My home” he said

“ to your home??”

“Well, only if your apartment was nearby like my home. Its late already, just sleep tonight in my house” he said calmly

I nodded in agreement.

After few minutes we arrived.

Victor opened the door for me , i entered inside . His home was big but also felt so warm and cozy . Victor turned to face me “ go and take a hot shower, then dry your hair. Don’t get cold. I asked them to prepare you clothes. If you need anything ask me “ he said

i went to the room. It was big as expected and has a fancy bathtub. After i finished showering and preparing for bed. When i was about to head to sleep, I suddenly heard knocks on my door .

“Get in “ i said

The door was opened and it was victor, he was wearing his classic black pjs

“ as expected, you didn’t even dry your hair yet you headed to sleep anyways“ he said..

“What if you get cold?” He added

He went to grab a hairdryer from the drawer . Then turned to face me

“ come here” he said

I understand what he want so i sit and give him my back. He started to dry my hair, touching my hair so gently. After he finished drying my hair he took a hair tie and started to tie my hair.

“ there’s something I wanted to say to you” he said

“ hmm? “ I replied

“ i will get to the point “ he said

“ I might not know what exactly that got you so bothered like that , but you must know that there are a lot of circumstances in the world that are out of our control. The causes and reasons behind every circumstance is complicated. In a world where it’s impossible to know everything, it’s normal that we experience things we cannot understand and find difficult to accept. Even so, we have to accept it. There are many ways to accept it. Crying is also one of them. However, only for one night. ( he took my hand that was planning on reaching my face)…. And don’t rub your eyes, it will be better if you leave it and take a good sleep “ he added .

After leaving, he leaned to kiss my head .

“ good night “ he said

“ wait! “ i said

His eyes locked into mine , waiting for me to say what I want to say.

“ why did you went to the banquet, with her? “ i couldn’t stop my curiosity so i asked him .

He chuckled quietly then pinned my chin forcing me to look at him..

“ you jealous? “ he said

A bold idea came up to me ,

“Yes..i am! “ I didn’t wasted time and answered his question seriously.

He was frozen in his place , stopped chuckling and has a surprised face expression .

I gathered all my courage to say the three most difficult words ..

“ i love you victor! “ i said , while looking into his face..

then reached to his face and give him a quick peck on his lips ..

“ don’t make me feel this way again, I hate it !“ i said and then went for another kiss . But He didn’t kiss me back , still surprised by my bold move.

“ when i saw how you looked to her when she was talking to you . You were smiling while and looking into her eyes , I wondered if you ever started to lose your feelings towards me , i was really scared of losing you.. i even started to imagine how you would look in your groom suit .. standing beside her in front of everyone… i was so scared “ my voice cracked at the end.. i felt the tears forming in my eyes

“ I really… really don’t want to lose you . I did my research about her, She won countless times and even has the f-“ my speech were cut off with his hot kiss .

He closed his eyes and rested his one hand on the back of my head and the other on my neck.

He pulled his lips away from mine when he noticed how i was struggling to breathe.

“ … you talk too much” he said while maintaining his sharp eyes on me.

“Since when you had these thoughts on that little brain of yours? Instead of using it on useless things, apply this effort and worry about your unfinished weekly report instead. You thought I haven’t noticed how distracted you were ?“ Victor said.

“ relax dummy , Lili is just an older sister to me. She asked if i can company her since her husband on business trip outside china. Lili is busy in work but also dealing with three kids at the same time. I was just helping her manage the deal she had with SJ company , you don’t have to worry that little head of yours on such matters “ victor added.

“ Duckie, i searched for you, and luckily after 10017 years i was able to meet you again. The little head of yours could never imagine how bad I wanted to see that silly smile of yours again. I waited for so long , and you better make it up to me. In other words , Be mine” victor said , while holding my left cheek and went for another breathless kiss ..

“ i —-love —-you——-, Dummy “ he said between his kisses ..

“ don’t close your eyes, look at me when iam talking to you. You know that i love when you’re bold with me, right?” he said smiling at me then slightly biting my lower lip ..

“I was so happy when i met you, in the end of the banquet . I thought you went with her“ i said while having a big silly smile on my face

“ There is only one thing you should be happy about……. It has always been you and only you” he said while looking at my eyes and holding my hot blushing cheeks in his big hand .

After making out sessions for straight two hours , he lay me down on the bed pulling the quilt over my body.

“ go to sleep, and NEVER think about theses useless matters . if you want to ask me something Just ask me directly ... Goodnight dummy” he said ..

“Good night” i replied softly

He smiled then give me a final forehead kiss and went outside the room after dimming the lights ..

In the next day i went to LFG to submit my weekly report , suddenly i received a call from Kiki

“ boss, i made a surprise for you!! you are going to thank me for it . Don’t overthink about it, and just enjoy the surprise” she said while giggling in mischievous manner.

She closed the call, i was nervous and curious at the same time but I didn’t pay much attention on that because I didn’t have much time left, i have weekly report to submit! . I hurried to victors office and luckily I arrived on time but I found my secret love letters has been opened on victors office already and he had one of them on his hand , taking his time reading it while drinking his coffee ..

he noticed me standing near the door , surprised and embarrassed . Victor smirked in anticipation

“ You have a lot of explainings to do , Producer Duckie “ he said while giving me smirky face

Hello everyone ! Today i am gonna tell you about my opinion on the mc’s of the otome games i played ! Again this is just my opinion so feel free to share yours or complete with your opinion on mc’s of otome games i didnt include !

This is not a ranking btw !

MLQC MC: Youran

Job: Producer | Queen

Age : 22 year old

Good points : 1-Brave and take risks 2-Never give up 3-Smoll bean (seriously she's so cute) 4-Really nice and helpfull (walk around the city for hours every week to help anyone in need) 5-Hardworking 6-Tell whats on her mind and doesnt hide her feelings 7-Can play piano

Bad points: 1-Bad decision making 2-Rely on the boys too much 3-Mary sue 4-Clumsy AF 5-Sneez\ stomach noises when boy is about to kiss her

Mystic messenger mc:

Age and Job: Depends

Depend on the route 1-Yoosung : Super patient and mature 2-Jaehee: Supportive 3-Jumin : God levels of patience but also kinda always have to agree with jumin which i hate 4-Seven : Happy go lucky and clueless about her whole situation (Seven : There is a BOMB | MC:LOL OK) 5-Another story : Guillible but also very patient. (i would take none of that s**t) Common to all routes : Have no eyes

My candy love MC: Lyn Darcy AKA Candy

Age : 17 during 1st season \ 23 during 2nd season \ 25 during 3rd season

Job : High schooler\ college student\ coffee owner

Good points: 1-Friendly 2-Helpful 3-Open minded 4-Pretty 5-Very strong mentally (during the highschool part) 6-Appearance can be customized 7-Energetic 8-Can get angry and speak her mind (depend on your choices)

Bad points: 1-Nosy AF 2-Mary sue 3-Play terapist with literally anyone she meet even if that mean getting herself in trouble and ignoring her own love life 4-Paranoid 5-Childish (even for a highschooler and even more in campus life)

7hotties MC AKA the worst mc (No pic for her cause tumblr says only 10 pic per post)

Job : Freelance designer Age : middle 20′s

Good points :

1-None

2-Nothing

3-Absolutely nothing

Bad points: 1-Weak 2-Useless 3-Doormat 4-Almost jobless (never seen her work aside from keita's route because he is the one who gave her the job) 5-Bland AF 6-Forgive everything a guy do to her (even rape) 7-Never actually get mad (even after a guy sleep with her and dump her literally right after she's like "pls don't abandon me! Tell me if i did anything wrong ! I'll fix it")

SSS MC:

Job: Concierge at the royal shining

Age : Early 20′s

Good points: 1-Sassy 2-Have a goal in her life and a dream she will not abandon no matter what 3-Can solve mental illness with love (because otome game power) 4-Described as extra pretty (All the boys at her workplace like her) 5-Doesnt give up easily 6-Actually got some backstory 7-Thirsty AF 8-Relatable

Bad points: 1-Forgive too easily (Minami's route !!) 2-Always get caught when spying or listening on someone's conversation 3-Clumsy AF 4-Can't brew coffee even after two weeks of trying (toma's route) 5-Actually not so good at her job but she's trying really hard

Le secret d'henri\Henri's secret MC: Lyla (Actually not an otome game, more like a visual novel but i wanted to include it because i absolutely love the mc and also because it's getting a remake and i wanted to promote it a bit)

Job : Highschooler

Age: 17 then 18

Good points: 1-Strong 2-Naive in all the right ways (she know how naïve she is but still choose to be naïve because she'd rather get backstabbed because she trusted than miss the opportunity to know a good person because she didn't trust)

3-Very pretty (Said to be the prettiest girl in all the high school and literally every boy she met aside from her brother and clement her bestie want to date her.)

4-Very popular 5-She is so nice even Henri call her a saint 6-Have the best family 7-Have the best friends 8-Supportive 9-Likes to play detective and solve people's problem 10-You really get attached to her by the end of the story you are almost sad because you wont get to see her again

Bad points: 1-Overreact 2-Drama queen (I understand tho as she is still a highschooler so she get emotional and depressed quite easily specially when it comes to a certain someone)

3-A bit too perfect sometime : Pretty girl, nice , friendly, cool, like nailpolish and fashion but also manga and video games, smart etc etc 4-MARY SUE 5-Nosy but not in an annoying way

Ikevamp MC:

Job: Travel agent and blogger | Housemaid

Age: Early to middle twenties

Good points : 1-She's said to be very beautiful (leo's route) 2-Speak many languages and seem to have a wide board of interests 3-Adapt fast to her new environment (depend on the routes) 4-Mentally strong (specially in napoleon's route) 5-Kinda mature (sometimes and depend on the route) Bad points: 1-Inconsistent personality even in the same route 2-Mary sue 3-Can be very weak and submissive (depend on the route) 4-Have no reason to stay aside for the boy she loves (what I mean is that by the end of the route the only thing she have in 19th century France is her boyfriend, in some routes she doesn't even meet or talk to most of the other resident and she have no job aside from cleaning the mansion with Sebastian)

5-Also get kidnapped every route (don't know yet for Theo) 6-Always wear the same clothes

Ikerev MC : Alice

Job: Help at a bakery ?

Age: Early twenties (saw somewhere that she was the same age as ray, not sure tho)

Good points : 1-Like food 2-Foodie 3-Enjoy food 4-Food = Happiness 5-More seriously she's super positive and optimistic and adapt really fast to her environment 6-Friendly and happy go lucky 7-Have the power to repel magic and protect herself and sometime her suitor to some degrees

Bad points: 1-Clueless 2-Dumb AF 3-Bad decision making 4-Get kidnapped almost every route 5-Zero observation and deduction skills (Oliver's route) 6-Technically squat at the black\red army headquarter\Oliver and Blanc's house or Harr and Loki's house

Ikesen MC : Mai AKA the queen AKA the fireball AKA the little mouse AKA The godess AKA the wild boar

Job: Seamstress

Age: around 25

Good points : 1-Strong AF 2-Take no sh*t (Kenshin's route\ Nobunaga's route...) 3-Adapt quite fast to her new and very dangerous environement (if i was her i would not leave my room for the next 3 months) 4-Fireball 5-Saved her suitor in many routes (Kenshin, Ieyasu, Shingen...) 6-Sass Queen 7-Have a life in sengoku era aside from her suitor (kinda the opposite of ikevamp mc as i said in bad point 4) 8-Have a dream and a goal 9-Very beautiful (even kenshin said so outside of his route and he was not in love with her!) 10-A lot of chemistry with all of the boys even outside of their routes.

Bad points : 1-Mary Sue 2-In some routes she is weaker but it never really disturbed me as it suited the love interest of the route(Sasuke and mitsuhide's route) 3-Kidnapping

Midcin MC:

Job : Princess

Age: Heard somewhere that she is 19 but not sure about it

Good points : 1-Adapt fast to her new situation 2-Try her best to learn everything 3-Try to take responsibility as the new princess 4-Can't think of anything else for her...

Bad points : 1-Weak 2-Bland 3-Doesnt speak up when she actually need to (The dumpster fire that is Alyn's ever after) 4-Kidnapping sometime twice in the same route 5-Submissive depending on the suitor

Okko's games MC'S : Honestly they r all the same so reunited them all in one

Job and age : Depend on the game

Good points: 1-Hard working 2-Have goals and dreams 3-Usually have a backstory 4-Some of them are sassy 5-Pretty but doesn't take care of herself 6-Always have a very fashionable bestie with a lot of experience with dating that help her and listen to her problems

Bad points: 1-Emotional maturity of a middle school girl 2-Doesnt want to admit her feelings and keep denying them even when there is no reason to 3-Self sabotage 4-Blame herself for every bad thing that happens 5-Some of them are very weak and submissive

My first HC on here and I was memeing half the time while writing it. Included what the boys would do after hearing this news as well because why not. I’m not a Lucien fan but lord have mercy on my soul, I couldn’t help making his romantic af. He is the ideal boyfriend/date minus the l i e s that come in the MS and I hate it. All the crossed out stuff is just commentary because I couldn’t help myself. Hope you enjoy~ Thank you for your ask <3

How the MLQC boys react to being MC’s first love below the cut~

Victor:

Follows with some snarky comment after he calls her “Dummy”.

Let’s be real here, if he doesn’t call her dummy immediately, then something is wrong. Reminds me of when we streamed the first episode of MLQC and we were all yelling “CALL US BAKA” the second Victor came on screen.

While he seems cool and collected on the outside, you can hear the computer shutdown sound play on the inside.

To him, this is a shocking confession.

Victor: I’m not surprised a dummy like you hasn’t been in a serious relationship before.

Victor, internally: How has she never been in a serious relationship before??

He’s not very good at expressing himself honestly through his words but he truly admires MCs hardworking nature.

He finds that very attractive in a woman and is surprised that other men in the line of business haven’t taken their shot with her yet. it’s because they can feel your death stare on the back of their heads, kind sir

One thing he struggles with is being himself. He tries to act like everything is in his control all the time.

Because of this, upon hearing MCs confession, he invites her to a fancy dinner at his penthouse insert Victor’s Dazzling Date because THATS ALL THAT MATTERS. Jkjk haha... unless...

He wants to impress her as much as possible even though he knows deep down that she doesn’t care about what a person has and rather how they are as a person

BUT ALAS. The stress be real for her first boyfriend.

He wants her to know she made a good decision without verbally telling her out of his own bitch mouth I love you, please call me baka so he goes over the top with their first date.

Basically pulls a Mr. Krabs when taking Mrs. Puff on a date. Just add shades to Mr. Krabs to represent Victor’s “I’m calm. I’m chill. I’m all good. We vibin out here.”

All MC wants from him is his honest and genuine thoughts. and a lifetime stock of pudding because good god a girl has chocolate needs

MC eventually figures out Victor’s intentions with all the gifts he rains on her because hE dOesNt nEeD tHeM he can’t give her anything more than a cup of pudding up front

MC knows this and accepts the secret gifts with a smile.

She sends a gift in return to his office the following day along with a thank you for the wonderful date.

Can you hear that? It’s the sound of Victor’s heart rate slowing to the average persons.

Kiro:

“How have you never been in a relationship before??? That can’t be true!”

Kiro sees the good in everyone, so hearing that MC has never been in a relationship before him is

As for how anxious he is after hearing the news about being MC’s first love, he is screaming at a pitch only dogs can hear.

Almost 100% of the time he has a smile on his face and even convinces himself that he’s not worried about it.

But he is.

It only hits him when he thinks about another man taking MC away from him after seeing her talking with another guy.

MC will catch him without his carefree smile at times and eventually confronts him about it.

He shows her a wide smile and says there’s nothing to worry about.

After a few attempts of trying to get Kiro to open up about it, he gives in and says he’s worried he’s not good enough for her HAHAHHA, GOOD ONE KIRO

MC, however, turns it around on him

MC: I’m afraid IM the one who isn’t good enough for you.

They both smile and embrace each other, knowing they’ll get through any little concerns like this.

Gavin:

He knows.

We’re talking about the boy who has been in love with MC since high school; Who has protected her behind the scenes ever since he laid eyes on her.

He would know if she had been in a previous or current relationship.

It only comes as a shock when she says she’s never been interested in anyone else romantically before. Lies. Have you seen the other suitors, MC. In a world where guys are that hot, you must’ve had at least 1 crush, c’mon sis.

Gavin respected her personal boundaries and never looked into her personal affairs so he had very little knowledge of her views on other guys.

He gets a little bit nervous, since he believes her standards must be high if she hasn’t been interested in anyone else before.

Does the full on soldier oath, bend the knee cliche which includes “I promise to always protect you” and “Nobody will ever be good enough for you”

Mc: Gavin no...

Gavin: NOBODY WILL EVER BE GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOU.

Spoiler alert: You are waayyyyy too good for me, Gavin.

He doesn’t have too much anxiety over the thought of being MC’s first love though since he’s very good at staying true to himself and knows MC is one to admire that about others.

Gavin is a quiet guy in general. He’s more of an observer and watches MC to take note of what she enjoys.

When he sees her eyes shine bright after seeing a delicious dessert cafe, he offers to take her. He makes sure to express how he also wants to go since he knows she won’t accept unless he is interested as well.

Boy literally has no interests the moment he’s with MC. He is essentially that vine

Doesn’t even wait until the question is over and just “Absolutely. Let’s do it”

MC: But I haven’t even said anything yet...

He isn’t much different from how he is now. Has around the same amount of anxiety just from being in MCs presence.

Boy just wants to PROTECC and is always panicking on the inside but tries to remain calm.

He is very good at calming his anxiety though since he’s had so long to understand what MC values and knows she just loves people for themselves.

That’s all he needs.

Lucien:

His eyes widen slightly at MCs confession.

It’s nothing too mind blowing for him since he knows how refined MC is and how dedicated she is to her work.

It’s still surprising to him that nobody has tried to sweep her off her feet yet.

With how kind MC is, it would be hard for her to refuse a date with a gentleman.

Lucien gently presses a kiss to MCs hand upon hearing her confession.

Lucien: I am honored to be given the opportunity TO WOO to take such a beautiful lady out on a date~ AND MORE PLEASE

Lucien is the definition of a gentleman shhhh we aren’t speaking of current chapters in the main route Lucien. Cover your eyes. Pretend you do not see.

With little to no anxiety showing on his face after the reveal that he is MCs first love, he insists on taking her out to a nice restaurant the most classy and romantic 5 star restaurant Loveland City has to offer as a way to thank her for dealing with his bs (both his bullshit and black swan hahaha I’m so funny oml) being given the opportunity to treat her as a beautiful young lady should be treated.

He’s also more on the less anxious side of being MCs first love.

Lucien is a traditional man and does stuff by the book.

Because of this, he respects and likes the idea of being MCs first love.

He doesn’t go over the top yet isn’t cliche with dates and little actions.

He knows exactly what to say and when to say it. Though he may struggle with being openly honest about his own thoughts and feelings, he tries his best to express himself for MC. a lot of the time he just assumes talking to her about his personal affairs would bring her down.

This, however, gets better overtime as they continue to date.

They spend a lovely evening at dinner together and take a midnight stroll through the city oh god city stroll PTSD

He gently wraps his jacket around her bare shoulders with a soft smile as he thanks her once again for believing in him believing he is worthy of her

He’s surprised but his reaction is very mutual.

His internal thoughts are more on the line of “Hmm I’m her first boyfriend, aye?” and “OYA OYA”

He very likely most definitely places his hand on the wall beside her head and leans in closely to get a reaction from her as he growls,

Shaw: So that means you really like me, yeah? I’m making this way too hot gdi. Shaw stans please enjoy your food

MC looks up to see that same playful smirk resting on his face.

Just let him believe or you can try to tease him about it in hopes of getting a little pouty face out of him.

Honestly, their first date would just be the first date we got in the game and nobody can convince me otherwise.

Shaw is a wild child and doesn’t care for romantic dates. at least that’s what he wants you to think

A little insight on his character: He’s very blunt and easily pushes people away all the while keeping them close enough to gather intel. He doesn’t get emotionally attached to anyone and makes sure it’s mutual on both ends. Personal relationships only drag him down, especially in his line of work. He prioritizes other things before relationships which makes him so damn FRUSTRATING BUT I SWEAR I WILL CRACK YOU OPEN LIKE A WALNUT JUST YOU WATCH ME.

With that being said, after actually being in a relationship with MC for a while and opening up about their personal lives more, Shaw can be very romantic. He may be awkward for a bit at first since he literally doesn’t know what a date is but he gets there eventually.

He’s still full of fun but is also very gentle and makes sure MC is enjoying herself.

Gavin, watching you end up with Shaw:

- it’s like a sucker punch to the gut.

- he had been lucky enough to reconnect with you again after so many years, but during those, Shaw was given the chance to meet you

- Shaw, whether his enemy or not, is still his brother — which makes everything a little bit different from the other examples. Shaw knew plenty that Gavin is in love with you, and has been far longer than him.

- but, as much as he hates to admit it, Shaw isn’t with you just to spite him. There are parts of Shaw that haven’t seen daylight in a long time that come out around you, and only you. He knows the way that Shaw looks at you is genuine, because he looks at you like that too.

- Gavin can’t help but blame himself, like if he’d some something different then maybe you’d be standing by his side instead. it’s hard for him to be happy thinking like that, but he tries his best when at least knowing that you are.

Victor, watching you end up with Lucien:

- oh my god.

- this man would be heartbroken.

- I can imagine you shyly telling him one afternoon, and his heart dropping to his feet. he would ask you to repeat yourself, hoping that he just heard you wrong, but would dread to hear those same words again

- victor is a businessman. when has hiding his emotions ever been hard? he asks himself this the same thing, but can’t seem to keep the colour in his face

- still, he gives his best small smile and nods, knowing that even if you can tell that something’s awry, you won’t be able to figure out what

- he would absolutely feel as if he did something wrong. not in ‘courting you’ or whatever, but in interacting with you. obviously, you know this is bs — victor is one of the most generous and thoughtful people in this game, but insecurities are a bitch 🤷🏼‍♀️

- if he wants to find something to blame this on, it will be only himself. Lucien, he did regrettably well, and it seems like he was just one step ahead of him. He won’t be petty and hold grudges, though he might conveniently hate Lucien a little bit more

Lucien, watching you end up with Gavin:

- the two men have never been on good terms, despite their connection through you. and if anything, this just worsens it.

- neither of them are really a physically violent type, but watching them interact occasionally, you almost wish they were. those times are even more deadly when they’re silent

- but you have to understand — Lucien is in love with you. Deeply, honestly :/

- you ending up with someone else hurts him more than he’ll ever admit to you. it puts him in a state of constant emptiness, like he doesn’t know what he’s doing anymore. the only times he’s normal again is when he’s around you, which is thankfully convenient considering he lives next door

- but he knows the connections between you and Gavin, realistically. high school classmates. reconnecting again through the mess of Black Swan targeting you, and rekindling a bond. it’s a classic romance story plot, and not surprising in any way.

- he still pretends that he didn’t see it coming. that he still had a chance

Kiro, watching you end up with Lucien:

- this kind of breaks my heart :( I think of this as something between Helios and Ares — two people who though they’re on the same side, don’t really associate with the other in any way, or as little as they can.

- it’s like watching your crush end up with a frenemy

- it leaves goosebumps on his skin whenever he sees you two together. it just feels wrong, like something’s missing. it’s you, he realises. and not because lucien holds you back, but because you’re different with him

- it’s not a bad different, it’s just not how you usually are with him. subtle things like your speech patterns or how close you get. he doesn’t want to get used to it

- plus, lucien of all people? you know full well the relationship the two of them have, and though your decision certainly wasn’t to spite anyone, you must have known the wedge it could potentially drive between you and kiro, right?

- all I’m saying is, you’re very lucky that kiro wouldn’t ever leave you

Shaw, watching you end up with Gavin:

- god, he should have seen it coming

- his perfect older brother, getting his way once again. shaw’s life had been hell since he was taken away by their father as a child; taken away from Gavin and their mother like it was the easiest decision in the world. Gavin had the opportunity of going to normal schools, of making normal friends and having a normal life when he hadn’t. it only made sense that he got the girl they both fell in love with on top of that.

- (ofc Gavin’s life was far from perfect and very hard, but shaw doesn’t know that)

- shaw hides the fact that he’s upset about all of this, though, and frankly quite well. as much as he hates it, he doesn’t want his personal grudges to affect your happiness, because as it stands, you are really happy with Gavin. his feelings won’t change that

- you still like to be around Shaw though, and are good friends with him after the Hengdong incident and such. you wouldn’t ever leave him behind, not after everything you’ve been through together

- he might become a little rougher, a little less trusting, and kind of back to the way he was before you— but you know what they say: that kind of love never dies.

Crash Landing (MLQC Victor)

And now my first MLQC fic! 💞

Victor is such an asshole but I’m lowkey obsessed with him so 🤷‍♀️ but I hate that MC never turns his bs back around on him so I wrote this.

Warnings: none really, some swears. just fluff(?)

Victor smirked as he heard the door to Souvenir open, knowing exactly who it was.

He had left MC a voicemail earlier criticizing critiquing her latest report and knew she’d be by to talk to him about it. He had made some of the pudding she loved so much while he waited for her to arrive. He'd never admit it, not even to himself, but he loved when she'd come to see him, all doe eyed and begging him to give her more time. Of course he'd give her a hard time but he always relented and she'd smile, act all grateful.

In some sort of fucked up way, it made him feel good, how she tried so hard to please him.

As he finished the pudding, sticking it in the fridge to let it set. He listened as her footsteps echoed through the restaurant, graceful and determined.

This time, though, was different.

Victor almost laughed as she came into the kitchen, scowling, her knuckles white as she gripped her phone in her hand. She held it out in front of her, in his face.

"What the hell is this?"

Victor glanced down at the phone, not even having to read it to realize it was his response to her proposal. He swatted her hand away. "Well, you see, that's what we call email. It's like writing letters but over the internet."

"Hilarious,” she said with a scoff. “You know what I mean, so answer the question, Victor.”

He smirked. “Your report.”

“And?”

He rolled his eyes, getting irritated at the woman. “And what? It was awful."

"My report was great and thorough and my team worked hard on it."

"Not hard enough, apparently."

She growled in frustration. "You are such a dick, you know that?!"

He was pleasantly shocked at how forward she was being. He was just as proud of her as he was annoyed.

“Watch it,” he threatened. She wasn’t shaken at all by his tone and again, it annoyed yet thrilled him. He sighed.

"I'll reread it, tomorrow," he said, before turning to get the pudding from the refrigerator. He slid it over to her. "Have some."

She pushed the dessert back to him. "You'll reread it now."

Victor set the plate of pudding back in front of her, eyes darkening as he stared down at her. “Eat the pudding, MC.”

“Not until you tell me the report was good.”

He chuckled. "You really are a fool."

She crossed her arms and tapped her foot, refusing to back down.

"God, you’re being such a brat,” he snapped. “Need I remind you that your funding depends on me?"

"Your point? I'll get funding elsewhere if I have to."

Victor laughed at her threat. "From who?"

"I'll fund it myself if I have to."

He stepped closer to her, his tall frame towering over her. "Really? And how would you do that?"

"I don't know, suck dick if I have to."

This threw him off his intimidation tactic and MC could’ve sworn she saw a slight blush on his cheeks. "Calm down, there will be none of... That. Now, come on, let's go eat this and I'll reread it now."

MC looked down at the pudding. It did look good...she loved his pudding.

"Fine,” she finally agreed. “But only if you promise to not be an asshole."

"But that's my specialty," Victor joked, an awkward attempt to lighten the mood.

She gave him a look and he sighed. "Okay okay. I promise. No assholery."

“Pinky promise?”

Victor tried his best to stop a smile from playing out on his lips. There she was, sweet and almost childlike. The MC that he had come to know and love.

He rolled his eyes, wrapping his pinky around hers.

Victor held the kitchen door open for her and followed her to a table. He set the pudding down and sat across from her.

She ate half of it, splitting the other half with him after a short argument about whether it’d be gross of them to share a spoon or not.

“It’d be like kissing you,” Victor said.

“Oh, like you’ve never wanted to do that before,” she retorted, smirking when he coughed and turned his head to hide his blush.

“What’s with the sass today?” he asked as he grabbed another spoon and dug into the pudding.

“You’re sassy everyday, why can’t I be?”

“I’m not sassy,” Victor replied. “I just know you can write a better report.”

“And I’m telling you nothing’s wrong with it.”

“I’m sorry, is it so bad that I’m pushing you to be better?”

“It is when you make me feel like an idiot.”

“You are an idiot.”

MC grabbed the pudding back from him, crumbs falling onto the table. “You promised not to be an asshole. People who break promises don’t get to eat pudding.”

Victor scoffed, grabbing it back from her. “I *made* this pudding.”

She glared at him, her hand still stuck on the plate.

“Look, I’m sorry,” he said with a sigh. “I don’t really think you’re an idiot. Kind of dumb sometimes, but so is everyone.”

“Everyone but you?”

He shrugged.

MC scoffed, letting go of the plate and leaning back in her chair. “I know you don’t really think I’m dumb and that this is a facade.”

“What is?”

“You acting all tough. As if you’re not totally in love with me.”

Victor coughed. "Excuse me?"

"You're the little boy pulling the girl's pigtails. You like me and can't deal with it so you act like a dickhead."

"Somebody's full of herself."

MC shrugged. "Just calling it like I see it."

She stood up and walked over to him, putting her hands on his shoulders. Victor stiffened, the first time he had felt nervous around her. Well, around anyone, about anything. Ever.

She bent down to whisper in his ear. "I admit I do like this little game we've got going between us."

Victor stammered, face growing hot with frustration. “Look, dummy, I don’t know what you think-”

He was cut off by her pressing her lips to his. For a moment he didn't know how to react until she swiped his lips with her tongue. He obliged, opening his mouth and slipping his own tongue out to meet hers.

She pulled away, looking him in the eyes."I'll be in your office first thing tomorrow after you reread the report. I hope to hear something positive."

She gathered her belongings and kissed him again. “Thanks for the pudding.”

He watched, for once not able to speak, as she sauntered off, out of Souvenir. The door shut loudly behind her. Victor stared at it, dumbfounded.

What just happened?

BELPHEGOR — i mean, it’s kinda obvious, right? (cough bbelphie is the name of the blog) ever since the start of the game, i wandered about who the fuck that resting bitch face boy was. like, honestly curious. when we met him at the attic, the first thing i thought about belphie was how manipulative he was, and although i’d have hated him, his situation and the game’s universe in general made me reconsider my choice. i found out that he was so much more complex than what i first thought of him. and i LOVE characters like that. belphegor had his reasons, his own past and way of seeing things and i just wanted to know him better, not just because i was curious, but because i’ve grown to like him, in a way. it wasn’t instantaneous, but i kinda saw that coming, you know? i’m not sure if i can explain well how i feel about him (i can’t express my feelings well in any way cof) but belphegor was the character that i was most eager to know about. (ouch i have so many other things to say about him) also he’s a sassy little shit and i love him for that.

MAMMON — the fact mammon was with us since the beginning is a big part of this place (but not the only one). and yeaaah, i know he was a little bitch about looking after mc and i was also blinded by my prejudice against personality based characters like him (narcissist, arrogant, show off) but then we get to know him better. mammon has so much more sides of his personality than that. (besides being a tsun tsun) so by that scene when we were competing against levi and lucifer saved us because mammon couldn’t make it in time, mammon was like “next time I will be the one saving you!!” i was already “YES YOU IDIOT I LOVE YOU TOO” and it was just downhill from there.

SATAN — honestly? he’s my type. the intellectual one, cat lover, fan of mystery and detective books and all that shit made me fall for him, hard. and then i saw his backstory and i fell for him EVEN HARDER. he has sooo much i want to know about! behind the facade he wears constantly in front of everyone there was so much more than the sin he’s avatar of. his arc was one of the lessons i loved the most, without doubt. though i wished the devs had gone deeper into his character, like uhhh i don’t know how to elaborate on this, but i feel we scratched only the surface of who satan really is. (besides that, satan def would be a beast in bed and my hcs about that does’t end)

LEVIATHAN — ahh it was too difficult to choose between him and beel. but i relate to levi quite a lot — animes, self depreciation, manga and all that stuff. he striked me as someone i wouldn’t like so much at the beginning but i’ve grown to love him. that was because of... well, i know envy is the deadly sin he’s avatar of, but man it’s annoying sometimes dnbfxk however! i love him either way. i just think that he should appreciate more things in life instead instead of putting himself down but who i am to talk? i used to be like that and i still am, just not as much. that must be most of the reasons of why i want to be by his side and reassure him that not everything in life is unfair, but can also be a way to make ourselves stronger. taking that emotional shit aside, i love his fanboy side!! i rant a lot about the things i like, especially animes and mangas, and seeing him so enthusiastic about things like that makes me feel like with him, i would act like myself the most.

BEELZEBUB — i love himbo!!! the giant, strong one that looks like he could kill you but is actually a cinnamon roll? yes, sign me the fuck in. he’s the sOFTEST i swear to god almost all the scenes that made my heart explode with love was with him. when he asked to hold your hand while sleeping because he’s afraid of having any more nightmares about lilith and belphie and their fall from the celestial realm made my heart go BOOM. i would do ANYTHING for this boy 😭😭 beel was first i warmed up to in the game! i was gonna put him in the fourth place with levi but it would be too long.

LUCIFER — hhh this guys right here. ngl i was intimidated as fuck at first. but then i saw how he was family driven, always putting their safety and well being first and overall just being a loving brother, tho very discretely. and bruh characters like that are my DEATH??? he is so soft for the ones he loves and would do anything in his power to make them be safe and sound, even if it takes some sacrifices. i was touched by his past, how he had to hide so much from his brothers because he felt he should carry his burden alone. i especially love when lucifer tears off that prideful and powerful facade and shows that he’s capable of loving and being vulnerable and just idk man it just hits home im gonna cry

ASMODEUS — baby boy. lusty boy. ntt solmare did him dirty. he deserves SO MUCH MORE!! asmo has so much potential to be a favorite if only they had developed him better. that arc of his when we make a pact with him was lacking, in my opinion. the devs could have gone deeper into his character, showing that his not just a personification of lust, only its avatar. i’m sure there are different sides to his personality, you know? we’ve been seeing hints throughout the story and devilgrams (most of the time they’re very subtle!!) that asmo needs or/and constantly wants to feel loved, wanted, desired and/or admired. that could be a trauma or something of the sort that was created after his fall from the celestial realm. however this theory of mine is not full developed yet so i can’t really tell you guys about it in more detail. i still love him nevertheless!!

others characters:

SOLOMON — he is shady. and powerful. i love that. besides that, i think i may have a thing for white haired characters. but really, i love this guy, don’t know how but i do. there’s a lot i wanna know about him, and i feel he’s hiding or planning something big. and maybe evil. but ngl his interactions with asmo are the best!!

SIMEON — ara ara baby. i’m 100% in love with him. simeon is someone really good to have as a favorite honestly. even if he doesn’t get much screentime, anyone would realize that ever since the beginning he’s a very truthful person, with calming and chill vibes. i don’t know how to explain it well but with all the shit the brothers make mc go through, it wouldn’t be a surprise if you find yourself overwhelmed, and simeon is exactly the kind of person that makes you feel heard and seen; his atmosphere has this effect of making people feel at ease.... cough cough anyways a little bit nsfw but to me he’s either really kinky (without noticing or even knowing anything about kinks) or super innocent. that’s pretty much why i’ve seen this 50/50 aspect appearing constantly with his stans. p.s: not to be lewd but i wanna hold his hand 😳

LUKE — he’s my baby brother. i adopted him.

DIAVOLO — there’s so much of this guy we haven’t seen yet!! i know he’s like a cool dad and all but bruh, he’s the next demon king!! he must be a excelent strategist and is more powerful and intelligent than he lets on. i saw so many theories about diavolo, but my favorite so far is the one where diavolo kinda caused the celestial war indirectly. he’s another character that i feel we’ve only scratched the surface.

BARBATOS — everything about him screams “SUSPICIOUS”, he just hides it better than solomon. ngl i was rly curious about him and his powers and then i discovered he has control over TIME?? that’s too overpower!! but damn, i do love characters with time control powers...(victor from mlqc im looking at you) sometimes he looks like a dead fish. sometimes he looks hot. i don’t know bruh i’m half scared and half aroused by this guy.

that’s pretty much it i think? lmao there’s so much more i wanna say about them but this is all that comes to my mind right now!

Lucien and The Lure of Forbidden Fruit (MLQC Character Analysis)

Hello dear readers!

I’m sure that everyone knows by now that Lucien is my favourite MLQC boy (even after the events of chapter 13), and I’d like to take this opportunity to explain why. Needless to say, this analysis will be lengthy and include lots of spoilers (for certain Lucien-related dates and the main story, up to and including chapter 14), so the rest will be posted after the break!

Please keep in mind that I know next to nothing about what’s happened in the story beyond the new chapters released in the English server, so apologies if my theories prove incorrect to those who know better 😆

In response to the lovely Anon, on a superficial level, Lucien is exactly my type: tall, dark and handsome, and a genius to boot. I love my men intelligent with a side of suave, someone who isn’t afraid of wearing his feelings on his sleeve — and this sexy professor delivers. But I swear my reasons for loving Lucien extend beyond this paragraph 😂 Please do me the favour of reading on!

@blueanimewriting, I see Lucien’s character as being quite complex, and labels such as “yandere” alone are not enough to encapsulate him as a whole. Let us consider what we know of Lucien (in the English server) so far.

Lucien, aka Ares, is a high-ranking agent of the Black Swan Collective (BSC) — a super shady secret society with equally shady ambitions for the world, whose plans seem to hinge on MC’s cooperation. In Chapter 13, it is revealed that Lucien’s kindness and attentiveness to the MC was all part of his plan to lure her into a trap on behalf of the BSC. On the surface, everything about this screams betrayal. But is it really? More on this later.

Going back to @blueanimewriting’s question, a yandere is typically seen as a character with a sweet exterior who is capable of engaging in extremely violent and deranged behaviour when it comes to anything/anyone who challenges their relationship with the love interest. In my understanding of this archetype, the aggressive behaviour typically doesn’t reveal itself until love has been established, in that either the yandere realizes they are in love or are already in a relationship.

As we’ve seen in Chapter 13, Lucien is already highly respected and feared within the BSC, where he is known especially for his ruthlessness. The man won’t hesitate to dispatch Black Swan minions with little more than a flick of his hand, teleporting them to god knows where (we just know that the thought alone is enough to make them shake — remember Josie after her little illusory arson trick in Chap 13-1?). The man even smiled when his eye got split open as punishment for dragging his feet on his mission and not capturing MC. There is little doubt that Lucien is no stranger to violence, whether he’s the source of it, or at its mercy - a fact that most definitely precedes his relationship with MC.

The professor’s villainous behaviour does not come as a result of him falling in love, as is typical with a yandere. He is a man tasked with a goal, and his actions must be interpreted through that lens. Did he stalk MC by moving in right next door? Absolutely. Was it out of love? Probably not from the outset; he likely needed to monitor her as part of his mission. Did Lucien ever direct violent behaviour towards other potential suitors for MC’s affections? I don’t recall him ever behaving aggressively towards Victor, Gavin, or Kiro. Lucien’s deception and manipulation seems to stem solely from his mission, not from love.

Is Lucien innately evil, simply “born to be bad” so to speak? It’s hard to be certain at this point with the information we have. What we DO know is that the boy grew up without both parents at a young age, and may have been deprived of the opportunity to learn about proper human interaction — love, in particular. Hence, Lucien learns about affection by watching old Hollywood films in the cinema until the early morning hours, and reads books on how to be a good boyfriend. He asks MC to teach him how to love in his New Light Date. Perhaps it was just a bit of shameless flirting. Or perhaps, he was being completely sincere.

Of the sincerity of his affection for MC, however, there can be no doubt. Scattered throughout various dates and the story itself, we find instances of Lucien fighting his growing feelings for her. In his Aquarium Date, he admits that he has become too involved with the girl, despite knowing he should have kept his distance. In his Midnight Date, we witness Lucien ordering himself not to think of MC whilst clutching his chest in pain, the moment clearly illustrating that love had “taken root in his heart.” We also catch a glimpse of the professor’s true feelings in his aptly named True Love Date, in which Lucien tries his hardest to avoid MC (likely to prevent himself from falling even more in love with her), and fails spectacularly, displaying some extremely jealous behaviour when he mistakenly thinks she has feelings for someone else.

And while I could be wrong (depending on Ares’ ultimate agenda), the strongest evidence of Lucien’s love for MC would be the fact that he dragged his feet for so long on his mission, and still let her go in the end. If he was a total villain through and through, would it have been likely that MC would’ve escaped simply by saying that Lucien owed her a thank-you gift? I think not. Her ass would’ve been teleported back to BSC headquarters so fast.

So, we get to the crux of the matter, the reason why MC’s romance with Lucien/Ares will prove to be one of, if not the most, heart-wrenching ones in the game. Their relationship is star-crossed: Romeo and Juliet, Evolver-style. Lucien knows full well he was not to fall in love with her but couldn’t help himself and did it anyway. MC obviously had feelings for Lucien, and even in the face of his betrayal, still initially refused to accept it (“...you are not Lucien. He would never harm me. Ares and Lucien have nothing to do with each other!”).

The very image of the blood-red Lycoris blooming in MC’s dream at the beginning of Chapter 9 can be interpreted as referencing this ill-fated romance: when the flower blooms, the leaves have already fallen, and when the leaves grow, the flower has already wilted — the two can never be together. In the same vein, Lucien and MC are desperately in love with each other, but are standing on very different sides of a war that is gradually brewing. This is the stuff of angst-filled romantic dreams, for everyone knows forbidden fruit is the sweetest. It is also one of my favourite romantic tropes.

Yes, Lucien manipulated MC’s feelings in order to advance his own goals. But the professor never anticipated that he would fall victim to his own feelings for her. And that was the moment when his world was no longer black and white, cut and dried. He let his emotions get in the way of his mission, and was sorely punished for it. But perhaps his greatest punishment came when he had to watch his own confession of betrayal crush MC’s heart (let us not forget that look of sorrow that flashed in his eyes during Chapter 13’s showdown).

Yes, Lucien hurt us. But in doing so, he also hurt himself.

If you’re still reading at this point, 1) thank you for sticking around as I prance atop my soapbox, and 2) if you’re still not convinced, consider this: would Elex really make you fall in love with a main character only to make you hate him to pieces? Who in their right minds would blow tons of cold, hard cash on those gorgeous Lucien karmas, such as…

…if he didn’t have a way of ultimately redeeming himself in the end, however far away that is? I am a firm believer that Lucien/Ares will have a redemption arc, and that it will be absolutely fantastic when it happens. 💕

My review for Mr.Love Queens Choice chapter 19 – 21

Warning: Obviously, this contains spoiler for the current chapters of MLQC!

So here is what I think as short as possible:

- I think overall it felt to short. The two days delay was far too big for what was coming after that. You could totally feel that chapter 19 was technically speaking smaller and there was also one full chapter missing, that would usually be there.

- Victors Version of chapter 19 was so nice that it didn’t prepare me one bit for the depressing undertone and heartbreak of Kiros/Helios chapter

- Actually… I am even more confused now than I was before. There already were a lot of questions I had when chapter 18 ended and after chapter 21 I have even more and got no answer to the ones I had before

- I mean, did anyone get why MC is still alive? Is the world she is currently in still a dream or is it the real world just affected by the Evol-powers behind that dream? Since Anna said she took over for MC (just not recognizing it is her) did Victor, Kiro and Co. still meet her in the past and just don’t remember everything after their childhood?

- I love how Victor seems to be the one who is the most drawn to MC, while it is really likely that actually he is the most dangerous of them all after Lucien, seeing how he goes to black Swan and looking at his picture for the next chapters…

- Tho I have to admit he totally confused me the whole time and I hope we get at least an answer to why it felt like he knew who she was deep in his heart… and still went to Black Swan, despite her warning.

- Helios is totally the kind of guy who first presses a knife to your throat and just a day later gets panicked because you’ve been almost stabbed with another mans knife by someone else

- Was I the only one hoping he would recognize that damn knife he once gave her and wonder how she got it?

- Kiro turned back into Helios in the original timeline to protect/save/help MC and that is also very likely the reason he asked Gavin for help… but if MC never came back into Kiros life (and seeing the perfume-add from Kiro he has been Kiro at some point), why did he turn into Helios and started working with Gavin?

- Gavin is probably portraying the best way how technically speaking, not meeting/loving MC did change him and yet he couldn’t help helping her

- While Lucien was the perfect example for showing how dangerous this man actually really is and how soft he actually was on MC while some of us (me included) were thinking he was an a*shole then already

- MC was probably never as stupid as she was this time. On one hand she was as brave as one can be in this situation but on the other hand she did constantly run stupidly into danger without even so much as preparing for a worst-case-scenario

- At some point I was wondering if MC existed in this world and just everyone forgot how she looked and how her voice sounded and stuff. That at least would explain Victors reaction upon their “first meeting” and the fact that Gavin and Helios couldn’t help but protect her and that Lucien was seeing colors again for a moment when his eyes were following her… but that would be simply too easy I guess

- Overall I was a bit… bored, to be honest. It was not like the plot was boring… its just… we didn’t get anywhere with it, if you know what I mean.

- Chapter 19 was supposed to be a happy dreamworld that MC made up, but while it worked like that for Victor (I can’t shake the feeling that this man always gets the special treatment – no complaining tho, I love him) it was a total failure when it came to Kiro who ended up doing what he also did in the real world, leaving MC behind and then acting like a jerk towards her as Helios (BTW… did you notice his magic still works on her? When she tried to ask him if he was Kiro she couldn’t even get the words out) which certainly wasn’t what she would have wished for. So what was chapter 19 even for?

- Chapter 20 established that MC has been forgotten by anyone but the guy she once met in a bus. A guy who, at the moment, raises more questions instead of answering some. We’ve seen Helios, Gavin and Lucien at their worst and Victor… being so much like Victor that it is a mix of comforting and confusing. (And also screaming “Danger” because it gives you a fals sense of security when it comes to him.)

- Chapter 21 gives us the boys coming to MCs aid despite not remembering her, while we figure out that Evolvers are now hated and that there are people who want to see them dead at all costs. And while Lucien was the only on in this chapter who did not try to save Mc, as he almost kill her instead of helping her, he at least did show us that apparently, Black Swan currently kills the Anti-Evolver-Guys… which… if you think about it, is not so bad. Anyway, the chapter ends with giving us some false sense of security by MC gaining some confidence and Victor calling her “Dummy” like in the god old days… before all hell breaks lose.

- So… what did we gain from the chapters? Did we get any answers? Any conclusions? Honestly… I am really unhappy knowing that we are very likely stuck in this setting until at least the end of chapter 24, because as far a I am concerned right now, those chapters were the least interesting ones for me so far.

I’m going to add commentary that nobody gives a shit about because I feel like it.

“Love at first sight” is something I enjoy writing, but I hate reading it because Imo it’s better as interest/lust at first sight because I honestly think love at first sight is one of the dumbest romance tropes and is a misunderstanding of interest/lust. Thanks, I McHate it.

“Amnesia” sucks the vast majority of the time. It’s difficult to do “right” with respect to the character that has amnesia, and it’s a nuisance for me as a reader because I don’t want a blank MC. (Fuka in OZMAFIA is one of the most infuriating protagonists I’ve ever read with zero brain cells. MC in Amnesia: Memories is passable because she has the reflective mirror of people she associated with prior to losing her memory.)

Unpopular(?) opinion, but your life doesn’t start or end in high school and I’d rather age up characters to adulthood (where they have agency and freedom) than age them down to puberty, which is an objectively shit-tier time.

I like writing one-shots and vignettes but enjoy reading expanded multi-chapter fics.

Kid fic is like, blah. I like writing kids but don’t like reading them because I’m not particularly interested in children. I don’t want my own, I don’t really care about kids of my friends, and while I feel protective and caring for kids I just reeeally... Look, there’s a good audience for it, but I just ain’t it, chief.

You didn’t even have time to say anything before he swept you right up and kissed you hard.

When he finally broke away, his eyes lingered a little longer before creasing into a smile as that image of you back an highschool kept replaying in his mind. “Keep them on from now on—it’s fucking hot.”

If you ever lose them, he’ll literally venture to the ends of Earth to retrieve them just to make sure his princess can see

It was all quiet and dandy—just reclining on a loveseat in the corner scrolling through your phone until...

Victor’s pen skidded across the document he was signing the moment you began screaming at the top of your lungs.

He turned so fast that he pinched a nerve, as you scrambled up onto the couch in complete terror.

He sprinted out from his seat towards you, concern lacing his features immediately. “What’s going on?”

You could hardly form words and instead, shakily pointed to something on the coffee table.

A tiny white spider, hardly the size of his nail, crawled slowly across the surface of the table

Victor muttered a quiet ‘goddammit’ and shot you look.

“I honestly can’t believe you right now.”

You were squatting on the couch, proceeding to freak the fuck out but do you know what this man did??

He straight up picked up the damn spider with his bare hands and threw it into a nearby trash can like he was shooting a mf basketball.

“You turned out to be an even bigger imbecile than I could’ve ever imagined...”

You scoffed and dusted off, paranoid, before rushing out of his office. “I’ll wait outside!”

As Victor watched you leave, he could help but smile before pressing the intercom.

“Goldman—have exterminators here by tomorrow morning.”

Lucien

Between lectures and researching and experimenting, Lucien’s grueling schedule left his apartment in disarray. You offered to clean it for him while he caught up on some projects in his room.

It was an easy morning—you were listening to music and organizing his living room and kitchen, making sure to do it as quietly as you could.

It’d been so quiet in the apartment that he almost forgot you were there until a terror-filled scream pierced through his thoughts.

He scrambled out of his chair, rushing to the living room to find you practically hyperventilating on the couch.

From what it seemed, practically over nothing...

“Are you alright, what’s wrong?”

“SPIDER. KILL IT.” You pointed a finger at the corner beside the windows, but when he thought he’d see a tarantula or a larger-than-average bug—there was absolutely nothing.

When he walked closer to the corner, he found a tiny web with an even tinier spider crawling over it.

He chuckled quietly to himself before reaching into his pocket and pulling out a hankerchief. “Silly girl...”

A pillow was over your face, shakily sneaking glances from over it until Lucien gave you the all clear signal. “Is it gone...?”

He smiled warmly and nodded. “Parasteatoda tepidariorums aren’t harmful in the slightest, so no need to worry.”

This fucking dork killed a spider and even proceeded to call it by its scientific name...

When he had patted your head and left the room, you noticed a window was open that hadn’t been before.

Perhaps the spider wasn’t dead after all.

Kiro

You were visiting him on his day off.

Before the two of you had left to grab a bite, you turned towards Kiro and asked to use his bathroom.

“Sure! Just down the hall and make a right. I’ll wait in the living room till you’re done.”

You’d run off to do your business while he plopped back on the couch to relax before you came back.

Unfortunately, that peace was short-lived...

A scream erupted from the bathroom you had just entered. Kiro didn’t have much time to react until you burst from the door, running straight into his arms.

Tremors shook your body as you shakily tried to explain.

“What’s wrong cutie, what happened?”

You mumbled something incomprehensible into his chest before he finally understood. “There’s a spider...”

Because Kiro is just as scared as you.

fuck this shit because y’all ran out of that god forsaken house and called Savin to come kill it while the two of you were at least 10 miles away.

Gavin

You were changing into fresh clothes in his bedroom after a slight mishap involving a spilt drink occurred while you two were lounging on the couch.

He was focused on his phone, scrolling through notifications mindlessly until a scream—your scream— disturbed the peace.

You best bELIEVE this boy kicked down the door in SECONDS THE LITERAL M O M E N T HE HEARD YOU.

Honestly expected to see you in a headlock by some unknown assailent pointing a gun to your head.

But uM,,,,

That wasn’t really what he saw...

What he did see, however, was a horror-stricken MC, mid-panic attack on his bed crying for help.

“What the hell happened?”

You turned towards you boyfriend immediately, and pointed to a spider spiraling downward slowly on its web from the ceiling.

“Oh my gosh, Gavin! There’s a spider!”

You’d never seen him so relieved and worried at the same time

“Are you serious right now?”

You squeezed your eyes shut and nodded. “Please...just kill it...”

Without so much as a sigh, Gavin had the spider discarded in a waste basket, before turning back towards you. “Don’t pull that ever again—I seriously thought you were getting kidnapped, MC.”

Your cheeks were on fire as you stared down nervously, “I’m sorry...I just really hate spiders.”

But the room was quiet again, and when you turned up, Gavin wasn’t listening to you.

He was looking at you.

oh shit

In your panic, you didn’t realize you were still in an underwear and bra, face flushed, and pressing his pillow close.

Safe to say Gavin was out of the room as quickly as he’d come in...
