Please join us on Tuesday 10th October at 6pm in Liverpool School of Art and Design for an evening of debate and discussion exploring how design is influencing the climate narrative, the persuasive techniques used to shape our planets’ future, and the way in which these issues impact on social justice. 

The event is FREE and there will be refreshments.

Pete Thomas, programme leader for Graphic Design and Illustration, will be in conversation with Scott Starrett joining us live from New York. Scott is the Founder of Tandem NYC, and will be discussing his approach to socially responsible design and civic engagement movements. Scott’s work includes the visual identity for Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’ congressional campaign, and campaign work for Green New Deal and Planned Parenthood.

Following this LJMU Graphic Design and Illustration alumni Sana Iqbal will lead a panel discussion exploring design’s power to influence the political narrative to what action needs to be taken to support a just green transition.

-April 14th 7-8 pm at Art Wall at Cornish College Of the Arts with Celia, Lacina and students site-adaptive scores  -May 3rd at 4pm  at Kerry Hall at Cornish College of the Arts will be shown in the afternoon after showings-site adaptive.This will be with Celia and students.

-April 13th Guest Lecture at Yale- Dr. Celia Weiss Bambara will lecture on improvisation and Africanisms in Haiti and the Diaspora. 

-BASE Experimental Residency for CCBdance Project May 29th -June 4th

Thursday 1st June evening showing 6 pm 

Master Class with  Lacina Coulibaly at the MCC May 30th 3-5 pm

This showing will include three screen dances and movement research for a solo and trio project. Residency activities at Cornish College of the Arts and Base Experimental are partially supported by 2022-23 Faculty Development Grant and are in partnership with the Dance Program at Cornish College of the Arts and the CCBdance Project.

I’ve decided for my Wei Clan AU that everyone in WWX’s family has been blessed with 1) a soulmate and 2) the ability to immediately identify that soulmate as soon as they lay eyes on them for the first time, ensuring that they know who their destined other is.

I’ve also decided that, while this ability is inherent, you have to kind of know what you’re looking for or you could miss it. It’s something that the Wei know to expect and therefor are prepared for when it happens.

Mostly because I think it’s funny if WWX finds out JFM kidnapped him and meets his family sometime after the Guest Lectures, and when they tell him about the soulmate thing he goes “oh that sounds nice I wonder when that’ll happen to me”

Then later that night he has a dream-memory about meeting LWJ on the wall, beautiful and pale and radiant in the moonlight, and how it sort of felt like WWX got tunnel vision the second he saw him, and how all his instincts were suddenly clambering for this boy’s attention at any cost

And he bolts upright in bed in a cold sweat like IS THAT WHAT THAT WAS and then needs to be stopped from flying to Gusu in the middle of the night to propose to the second Jade
