Ship: Han Seo Jun x Female Reader.
Word Count: 2k + words
Sorry, this has been so long but this is the final chapter. Sorry for the wait and I hope the ending is satisfying for everyone.
This has been a journey and I loved writing this story. Thank you to everyone who showed interest in this little story of mine. This was my first written series and it's been the best time writing it. I'm sad it's ended, I probably won't be writing more True Beauty fanfic but I did love writing this very much.

Chapter 14.

Chapter 15.
Han Seo Jun couldn’t believe he was doing this. He had willingly called a class meeting. He was willingly calling these people he begrudgingly liked to discuss something. The things he did for you.
Then again, there were very few things he wouldn’t do for you. You had told him about the text and meeting Hae Sung. There was no way that Seo Jun was going to let you do this alone. You had the support of everyone in your class not just your best friends.
“So, everyone understands the plan, yes?” Seo Jun said looking at everyone in the class. They all nodded, understanding how important this was for YN and Seo Jun. It was well known how much the class hated Hae Sung and well anything they could do to help get him out of your life permanently they would do.
You were nervous going into school. Seo Jun had come all the way to your house, and you had gone to school together. Mi Soo Unnie gushing about how cute the two of you were the least of your worries at the moment.
Today was the day that you were going to confront Hae Sung. It terrified you to even think about it. But you knew it needed to happen. You couldn’t continue your life with Hae Sung in the shadows. Waiting to be let back in, knowing that he was behind so many rejections. Pulling the strings of your academic life without your knowledge. You wanted answers and you were determined to get them.
Walking into Saebom, your class and Hae Sung’s class did what they had been doing for months now. Helping you to avoid Hae Sung. You appreciated it, you knew you would not be able to handle seeing Hae Sung’s face before you needed to. As you walked into your classroom, you were surrounded by the girls giving you hugs and the boys shouting fighting. Confused you looked at Seo Jun who smirked and winked at you. Causing you to blush, making the whole class coo at how adorable you were.
The day was a slow one. For once you wouldn’t wait for the end of the day. It was the day to get answers from Hae Sung and the way the class was acting they were probably going to be around to help. Which you appreciated, then again you didn’t know how much of your personal laundry you wanted your classmates to know. In retrospect, there was too much your classmates already knew anyway, so did they know everything really matter?
That was an internal debate you could have later. You knew if you asked Seo Jun would scare your classmates into staying quiet and not saying anything about the confrontation. That made you feel bad though. Did that count as using your boyfriend? You didn’t know and for now, didn’t want to worry about it.
The end of the day came, and you were led to an empty classroom by Seo Jun, there you could see Si Woo and Hyun Ji with Jae Yi as well which was a surprise. You looked at him in shock, your mouth must’ve been open that you felt someone gently closing your mouth. You turned to look at Seo Jun and he just nodded his head.
“I would’ve told you, but Seo Jun wanted this to be a surprise Ynnie” Jae Yi told you. You looked at Seo Jun but again he wouldn’t give you an answer. You weren’t above begging Seo Jun to get answers from him but before you could, Cho Rong was heard shouting.
“Guys hurry up with the explanations Hae Sung is on his way” Looking around everyone nodded their head.
“I’m here as a witness and with the proof of what he did, plus Hyun Ji and Si Woo went through all the applications you filled in that were rejected as more proof. Our plan is to hit him with as much evidence as we can.” Jae Yi explained. You nodded your head before looking at Seo Jun and smiling at him.
He looked more nervous than you and that was saying something. To reassure him, you hugged Seo Jun tightly, just knowing he was here for you was reassuring. Seo Jun whispered in your ear, telling you that he was here and all you had to do was look out the door and wink at him. That was the sign for him to come in. Any moment you felt uncomfortable, just wink and he’ll be there.
“Well, isn’t this sweet, I didn’t come here to see you two hugging Han Seo Jun,” Hae Sung said as soon as he walked into the room. He had a smug smirk on his face like he knew this would all work out in his favour. Was he going to get the shock of his life then?
Seo Jun let go of you and gave you a peck on the lips. Then left the room, hitting Hae Sung with his shoulder on the way out of the room. That made you want to laugh but you knew that would just rile Hae Sung up and that was the last thing you wanted to do. So, you did a poor job of hiding your giggling behind a cough.
“So, you’ve kept a lot of things from me Hae Sung and I would like answers” You started strong, you were not going to let your fear of Hae Sung’s angry words get to you. That was not happening. You had a support system and sadly for Hae Sung, none of them was going to let him leave without telling you the truth of why he did what he did.
“I’ve kept nothing from you YN, my best friend. If anything, you’ve been distant. Hell, you told me that you couldn’t stand to be near me a few months ago” Hae Sung replied, looking you up and down. There was something different in the way you held yourself and he hated it. He heard Si Woo and Hyun Ji scoff at his words. He glared at them, but the two brats just smiled at him. Making him angrier. Why were the two of them even here, not to mention Jae Yi was here? Wasn’t he supposed to still be abroad? When did he come back and contact you?
“Kept nothing from me, sure I would’ve believed that last year but not anymore,” you said and then gestured for Jae Yi to start playing the video. You all turned towards the screen at the front of the classroom. Si Woo even offered you some popcorn which made you laugh but you took some anyway.
As the video played, you could see Hae Sung grow pale. His expression from a smug smirk to confusion to shock and then to disbelief at what he was watching. By the time the video ended, he was refusing to look you in the eyes. Looking anywhere in the room but at you. That was new, Hae Sung had never been afraid of confrontation but looks like being faced with the knowledge that you knew what he had done, scared him.
“Oh, that’s not all that I know Hae Sung. Jae Yi’s family were nice enough to have a Private Investigator delve into my whole academic history, to see if you and Kang So Hee had done this before and well you have. Practically my whole academic life has been controlled by the two of you” As you were saying this, Si Woo and Hyun Ji were putting papers up of all the applications that you’d filled out that had been rejected because of his mother Kang So Hee.
“I just want to know why Hae Sung, what was the point of doing all this? what did you achieve from any of this? Were my emotional breakdowns after being rejected multiple times funny to you? Did it amuse you that I was distraught over something that you had done” You cried to Hae Sung, you just wanted answers and if you were close to tears then so be it. Hae Sung is just silent. You want to shake him, anything to get answers from him.
“I had to do it YN. Do you realise how smart you are? All the applications, all these schools wanted you. It was a struggle to convince them to reject you. I hated to see the emotional breakdowns, but it was a price I had to pay. I need you close to me, all those schools, and opportunities would take you away from me and I couldn’t have that. I tried to keep you isolated from all our classmates.”
“That worked until you met Si Woo and Hyun Ji. I got used to those brats, but I couldn’t let you leave me. Jae Yi was an issue too and I had to get rid of him. It didn’t help that the summer you started dating, you had already rejected me and were pulling away. I had to do everything to keep you with me. I can’t handle anything without you and the only way I saw to keep you with me was to stop any and all opportunities you had that would mean you leave me” Hae Sung said and it took a lot out of him to admit all this to you. So much so that he just sat down in a chair.
All four of you are gobsmacked you couldn’t believe what you had heard. All of this just so you wouldn’t leave him. It didn’t make sense, nothing you had just heard made sense. You didn’t know how to react. All the things you had gone through with Hae Sung by your side, was any of it rule or just a way to make sure that you didn’t leave Hae Sung?
“All of this to make sure YN doesn’t leave you and it’s your behaviour that makes her leave you anyway. If I were you, Hae Sung, I’d go cry to your mother Kang So Hee and change schools, cause the minute this gets out, you’ll be hated more than you already are” Si Woo said calmly looking at Hae Sung with fire in his eyes.
“Too late, everyone already knows, part of the class plan was for me to call Seo Jun when Hae Sung starts confessing. No one will miss you Lee Hae Sung” Hyun Ji mentioned, pulling up her phone and nodding her head to Seo Jun who was at the door.
“Man, I knew you were messed up before and oddly territorial of YN while we were dating but this explains so much and it just makes you look so much worse” Jae Yi was disgusted, to think when he was dating YN, he did everything he could to get Hae Sung to approve of him. This guy needed help, but it was doubtful that he would get the help he needs considering his mother was already doing his bidding and covering for him.
“I never want to see you again Lee Hae Sung. Our friendship is done and dusted. Your control of my academic career is done. You’re lucky that I am not handing this stuff over to the police. Literally because of the good times but I am serious that if I see you again, I will hand this over to the police” you say peacefully. It had been long enough that you had stopped talking to Hae Sung. In the last few months, you had gotten used to not having Hae Sung in your life. You looked towards the door and winked at Seo Jun with a big smile on your face.
Seo Jun was confused but still came into the classroom, he was followed by the rest of your class and you couldn’t help but laugh at the way they all fell into the classroom. Seo Jun went to go fight with Hae Sung but seeing him in the chair looking very docile was weird. Seo Jun looked to you.
You smiled and motioned for Seo Jun to come over to you and to Seo Jun’s shock, you grabbed his collar, pulled him down to you and kissed him in front of everyone. You pulled away and laughed at the dazed look on Seo Jun’s face. Your friends were taking pictures claiming this was blackmail material.
“Last year, I wouldn’t have dared to confront you, Lee Hae Sung. If it hadn’t been for tutoring Seo Jun, I wouldn’t have grown closer to my classmates, realised just how toxic you are and literally, you’re the worst person, I don’t know how we didn’t fight before to the point of our friendship ending but my point is that I am better without you. I’m happy with my boyfriend, friends and family. I used to think that we were two idiots in a pod, platonic soulmates. I was wrong, were not soulmates, nothing you’ve ever done has been to help me. It was all to keep me with you and that hurts.”
“However, you did all of that to keep me around when just one honest conversation could’ve solved everything. Instead, you decided to go behind my back and pull the strings. I am happier without you and really, I feel sorry for you Lee Hae Sung. This is my goodbye. Were strangers from now on” After you’ve said this. You take Seo Jun’s hand and walk out of the classroom. You can hear your classmates clapping and whopping at your exit and that makes you laugh.
“So does this mean, I’m out of tutoring today,” Seo Jun asks putting his arm around your shoulders. You shake your head, even after all this time, this boy will do anything to get out of tutoring.
You’d think you would feel bad or upset. You’d just ended a friendship you had since your childhood. That’s not how you felt though. You felt free, you had been seen as Hae Sung’s best friend for so long. Now you were able to be yourself, you didn’t need to worry about how Hae Sung would react to something if there would be an argument if you had to deal with Hae Sung’s disappointment. You never thought that tutoring Han Seo Jun would lead to your freedom from the cage that had been your friendship with Hae Sung.
THE END.

making out with seo-jun
Tumblr media
content tags: han seo-jun x reader, female reader, established relationship, suggestive themes, making out, kissing, touching, humping, use of the word 'cock' once, all lowercase intended
author’s note: my first official post (⌒‐⌒) yay!
———
seo-jun has thought about kissing you since the moment he met you; it's hard not to when you have such inviting lips, parted and glossy, as if you were testing his restraint.
he has caught himself on multiple occasions, thinking just how nice your lips would feel and the way they would slot against his lips perfectly like you were made for him.
the thought makes his cheeks burn with embarrassment. it makes it hard for him to hold your gaze when you innocently ask him if he's feeling okay.
your first kiss happens, and it makes seo-jun fall deeper in love with you. it's slow and gentle; it's everything he expected it to be and more.
he's in a daze when you part, a pretty flush on his pale cheeks and a dumb smile on his face. you can't help but giggle at his reaction, "that good, huh?" he hums his agreement before pressing his lips against yours for the second and third time.
after that, he's completely addicted to kissing you. he can't rid himself of the image of you with such a cute look on your face when he finally closed the distance between you or the feeling of your hands holding the nape of his neck or the sweetness of your lips, it's all he can think about. it causes butterflies to erupt in his stomach and that's when he realises he could never get sick of kissing you.
seo-jun steals kisses whenever he gets the chance. he loves the way you indulge him every single time, choosing to wrap your arms around his thin waist to prevent him from leaving too soon.
he has absolutely no shame when it comes to you. he'll happily kiss you in public and around your friends (he thoroughly enjoys the way you get flustered and embarrassed). seo-jun does get shy if you surprise him with a sudden kiss or any kind of pda, it's so endearing.
your innocent kisses frequently turn into something less innocent. your soft and intimate kisses become rushed and heated, accompanied by the growing desire to taste you and feel you.
seo-jun was initially very hesitant to touch you outside of holding your cheeks as you deepened the kiss. he was extremely flustered when you showed him where to touch your body, "are you sure?" his shyness makes you smile sweetly, "yes— please seo-jun."
you don't have to tell him twice, he'll run his fingers against the exposed skin of your hips as he slips his tongue past your swollen lips. it'll pull the sweetest sounds out of you and it only encourages him further.
seo-jun's hands roam the curves of your body, squeezing just the right amount before settling on your waist, keeping you close to his chest. it's almost embarrassing how easily you melt into him, your own hands gripping the nape of his neck before moving into his hair.
he loves the feeling of your nails against his scalp AND when you tug on his hair, it pulls such nice groans from him. "oh, you really like that, don't you?" if you playfully tease him he'll give you a taste of your own medicine.
he's definitely the type to press wet kisses down the length of your throat and down your chest to the hem of your shirt before pulling away suddenly, leaving you desperate and needy. he laughs so cutely when you whine about how "mean" he is for teasing you like that.
but seo-jun doesn't leave you pouty for long before resuming his ministrations.
the one thing that makes him go absolutely feral is when you're sitting on his lap, all pretty for him. seo-jun's hands rest on your ass, keeping you as close as possible as he presses open-mouthed kisses to your jaw. your gasps and sighs go straight to his growing cock, and it only adds fuel to the fire when you unconsciously grind against him as you slip your tongue into his mouth.
making out is one of your favourite things to do with seo-jun, it's passionate and needy and loving. it leaves seo-jun's stomach in knots when you utter "i love you," between rushed kisses, he'll pause momentarily and smile so bright before saying it back. "i love you so much."

Requested by anonymous: Hi! Can i request for Joon-Woo Jang like the reader was in coma because of an incident with babel?
Pairings: Jang Han-Seok/Jang Jun-Woo x reader
Word Count: 2011 words
Warnings: none
A/N I assume you watched the whole series, if not you might want to finish it first since there might be spoilers (sorry) :]
Tumblr media
His eyes were trained on your figure, listening to the beeping of the heart monitor while watching your chest rise and fall slowly. His anger was clear to anyone if they walked past, rolling off of him in thick waves and that might have been why no one dared to come closer to him. His brother stood not even a meter away from him, trying to hide himself from his elder brother's view as he waited for the inevitable to happen.
It didn't happen, Han-Seok was only silent. It was something very abnormal and only scared Han-Seo even more. But Han-Seok only stormed out of the room and decided to go back to the company, picking his Han-Seo's car and driving off. He went up to 50 km/h, hands tightly gripping the steering wheel.
You were fine this morning, you were still in bed when he left.
He woke up with your arms tightly wrapped around his torso, your face pushed in between his shoulder blades while you breathed softly. His hand quickly found yours, prying it off of him as he rolled out of bed while ignoring the whine you let out.
"Babe?" You asked and he turned around, watching you turn over to try and pull him back. This was, of course, unsuccessful and he couldn't help but smile a bit.
"Do you have to leave already~? It's only-" You paused as you turned your head to look at the clock only to groan loudly. "-It's 5 am... What could you possible have to do that makes you leave me this early in the morning? What is worth so much that you'd leave me without morning cuddles?" You whined loudly and he rolled his eyes at you, falling back again to softly kisses you.
"I have some things to take care off at the company, love." He answered and you whined again, pulling him closer again and laying your head on his chest. He sighed, waiting for awhile as you rested on his chest before he grabbed you and turned over so he was hovering over you. You giggled and pulled his face closer to yours, nose touching before you softly kissed him again before just laying down.
"Be careful out there. No bruises this time!" You said in a scolding tone, referring to the bruises that were already on his body from a previous fight (one he told you about at least). He rolled his eyes again, but agreed anyway before kissing you one last time before leaving the bed.
He pressed harder on the gas pedal, the engine roaring as he went up to 60 km/h. He was never afraid, not even of dying. But watching you in that hospital bed, somehow, he was scared to death. He was afraid, so much that he felt like he was someone else. That fear was quickly replaced by anger. Anger to whoever did this to you and he'd make sure that they'd pay.
He smiled as he watched you scream along to the song on the tv, blissfully unaware of him standing in the doorway until you turned around. You let out a bloodcurdling scream before calming down and looking at the clock on the wall in confusion.
"You're not supposed to be home yet. You still have 3 hours of work." You whined and he scoffed, putting his bag down and brushing his hair back before walking your way. He wrapped his arms around your waist after pausing the show and you pouted as you wrapped your arms around his neck.
"You don't want me home then?" "Shut up, you weren't supposed to see that." He just smiled at you and kissed your forehead softly, leaning his head on you afterwards. You hugged him before suddenly pushing him back.
"You smell and not good..." You mumbled and he frowned, smelling his suit and the distinct smell of blood was quick to fill his senses. He sighed, thinking he had drowned out that smell with his deodorant. You came closer to him, opening the jacket to reveal a red stain on his dress shirt and you looked at him in disappointment. He felt annoyed at himself and was quick to follow your usual command to shower, throwing the suit in the trash before showering away the blood. When he was finished, you two cuddled to the couch while watching your show.
He went up to 70 km/h, knuckles already turned white as he saw other cars flash by. He had already past a few red lights and almost drove over a few people, but he didn't care in the least. He was only 10 minutes from the company now.
His eyes watched as you talked to another man, clearly uncomfortable but you were not saying anything. Why? Well, this man was your boss. But he knew this man as well, every secret illegal thing he had done because he had blackmailed said man under Babel, but he didn't know that was him and neither did you.
He walked your way anyway, one arm draping over your shoulders and looking at Dae-Hyun with a fake smile on his face. It didn't look fake of course, he could act well enough at this point to even fool you (not that he would ever do that). The man in front of you was clearly not amused by him joining you, eyes giving a subtle glare in his direction.
"Who might this be?" "Jang Jun-Woo. Lawyer for Babel." The man flinched when he heard the mention of Babel, physically uncomfortable. You were a bit confused by the name change before remembering that he worked under Jun-Woo instead of Han-Seok for some reason, one he never fully explained to you but you didn't really care. The man tried to talk to you a bit more, but he was quick to end the conversation when he saw Han-Seok's glare. You were also quick to hit his abdomen with a hiss and he just smiled at you cutely, taking his arm off of your shoulders.
"You're crazy." You said and he chuckled, standing up again and you grabbed his hand before dragging him outside with you. He let himself get dragged, giving everyone who even gave you a look a harsh glare in return.
He must have been at 80 or 90 km/h, but stopped once the company was fully in sight. He drove right in front of the doors, getting out and storming inside. He saw red, everything else was useless to him until he set eyes on your direct boss, Dae-Hyun.
Said man was happily chatting with others, not at all feeling remorse for endangering you in a task that should've been him. At this point, Han-Seok felt his anger rise again as he marched towards the man. The people around the man saw Han-Seok coming, or in their eyes it would be the sweet and naïve Jun-Woo walking near. Yet it was a look that they had never seen before on his face and it terrified them to the core, clear in the way that they stepped back and away from Dae-Hyun.
Once Han-Seok had reached them, his hand placed itself on the man's shoulder and he pulled him back harshly before landing a punch in his face. The man fell back to the ground and looked up from the ground in shock, ready to yell at the younger before freezing when he saw the look on his face.
"Jun-Woo, what-" "Do you have any idea what your done?!" He didn't contain his anger as he screamed throughout the whole lobby, all heads turned to watch what was happening. They watched as their Jun-Woo, a man who was always nice, started to curse in both English and Korean very loudly while trying to hold himself back from killing Dae-Hyun in public. It could wait, first he'd be fired and replaced before he'd kill him as painfully as possibly. He couldn't help but smile at the thoughts started to shoot through his mind, finding any way to kill the man.
"What happened then?" He asked with an arrogant tone and Han-Seok looked back at the man, who had stood up again with an arrogant look on his face.
"Where were you this morning?" He asked and the man scoffed harshly, replying with an 'at work'.
"At work?" He scoffed, getting closer to Dae-Hyun. "If you were at work, you would've been in the hospital along with your co-workers with burns or chemical wounds." At this the mans face fell while everyone around them grew even more silent.
"How is that my fault?!" Dae-Hyun retorted and Han-Seok sighed, his breath wavering from the anger.
"Had you been there, doing you job of checking everything then the newbie wouldn't have screwed up. If you were there, like you were supposed to, you should've told the newbie what to do so he wouldn't have screwed up!" He sneered and the man flinched back, clearly scared of what was going to happen. Han-Seok grabbed the man's collar, tightening the tie just enough without anyone noticing.
"If she doesn't wake up in an hour, you can pray that I won't find you or your family." He threatened before letting go and storming out of the building again, ready to go back to your side. The car ride back was just as horrible as before, by the end he was driving a full 120 km/h. He stormed back to your room, ignoring others calls before slamming past security and into your room. You were sitting up, Han-Seo sitting next to you while listening to you talk and an investigator taking notes as you explained. Once they realized that Han-Seok stood in the doorway, Han-Seo stood up and dragged the investigator out with him while you just gave Han-Seok a smile. He walked closer, sitting down before giving your body a quick scan until you grabbed his face.
"I am fine, stop it." You said and he stared at you, eyes showing no emotion (something you were used to at this point). You sighed softly, pulling his closer to yourself and he shuffled a bit closer while dragging his chair closer.
"I swear that I'm-" "Did it hurt?" He interrupted you and you paused with a sigh and he looked up again, eyes this time showing a slight anger again.
"Answer me." He said, voice harsh and you couldn't help but flinch. He noticed this and softened his gaze a bit, but you knew he still wanted an answer.
"It hurt at first, I won't lie about that. But it was not his fault." You said and he knew that you meant the newbie that created the accident. He knew this fact, yet he couldn't help but loath the guy anyway. You laid back down, still smiling at him and he felt his anger slowly wash away.
"When can you leave?" He asked and you pointed at the bag that hung above you. "When that is finished, don't you dare tamper with it to go faster." You said and he rolled his eyes before laying down his head on your legs, hands softly massaging them. You returned the favor as you started to run your fingers through his hair, liking how bouncy the waves in his hair were. You preferred his loose hair over the gelled back style that he sometimes did.
You only left 5 hours later after multiple more checkups, but Han-Seok didn't even let you walk as he carried you to the car and then into the apartment. He only set you down when he reached the couch, softly laying you down before covering you with a blanket and sitting next to you. He looked at you before sighing as he saw you stumble asleep, knowing that the medicine you received would make you sleepy.
Once he saw that you were fully asleep, he stood up again and went to put on a different outfit. He had made up his mind as he took a last look at you before he exited the house, getting into his car and driving off while looking at his phone.
There was no way that Dae-Hyun would be alive at the end of the hour.

When Fear Becomes Strength
Tumblr media
Fandom(s): Vincenzo Series
Pairing(s): Jang Han-seo x BestFriend!Reader
Summary: All the signs were there in the past, only you were too young to understand what was happening. Years later, you’ve become a witness to Jun-woo’s vicious behavior towards Han-seo. Now Han-seo fears what will happen next. This time he turns his fear into strength.
Disclaimer:  I do not own any character mentioned in this work. Every character and scene belongs to the writers, producers, and directors of Vincenzo. I am simply borrowing dialogue and characters to create this work of fiction.
A/N:  Y/N-Your Name. This idea came to me at 3am (09/28/2022). Instead of sleeping, I had to write it. I think I wrote Jun-woo a lot worse than he actually is. I mean, Jun-woo is a horrible enough person as is. Cha-youhg doesn't get kidnapped. Han-seo lives, because I said so and that man deserved so much better than what he got in the show. Just saying. Anyhoo, I hope y’all enjoy this. Bold Italics is a memory. ✨✨✨✨-Signifies a time lapse.
Warning(s): Mentions of abuse. C-PTSD. description of violence/abuse. Netflix subtitle translation used. out of character moments? a few cuss words. abrupt ending? (I had no idea how to end this, I’m sorry.)
Word Count: 8,368
It felt like time had stopped. You weren't sure how to react to the scene before you. Jun-woo held Han-seo tightly by his tie. Anger clear on his face. His fist was raised, but stopped when he noticed you standing in the archway to the living room. He let go of his tie and began to straighten it up. "You should always remember to look your best." Jun-woo said in a sweet tone, trying to make it seem like he was helping and not hurting. You were stunned by the sudden change in his attitude. He gave Han-seo a hug whispering to him "we'll finish this later". Once he let go, he smiled at you and left the house, slamming the door on his way out.
Han-seo leaned against the wall, sliding down. He pulled he knees close to his chest and rested his forehead on them. You slowly walked towards him, kneeling in front of him when you were close enough. "Han-seo?" You whispered. "You were never supposed to see that side of him." His tone was filled with anguish. He looked up from his knees to meet your gaze. Your heart breaking when you saw the bruise forming on his right eye. The red mark in the corner of his lip. The hand print across his left cheek. What hurt the most was seeing the fear and pain within his eyes. Tears steadily streaming down his cheeks. "He's going to hurt you. He always hurts the people who find out about his violent side. That's why I can't keep friends. He... I c-can't lose you." Han-seo had a hard time speaking over the lump forming in his throat. The mere thought of Jun-woo hurting you terrified him and broke his heart.
He leaned forward, kneeling on his knees, and pulled you into his embrace. Sobs began to rack his body. You tightly wrapped your arms around him. At this point tears began to stream down your cheeks as well. Seeing him so hurt and scared broke you. You began to gently rub his back. After several minutes his body had stopped shaking. His sobs becoming softer.
"Please." Han-seo whispered. You pulled away from him to look at his face. "Please, what?" You asked with a puzzled expression. "Please, don't leave me." Han-seo said, his voice cracking. "I won't. I pinky promise." You held your right pinky out to him, he gently wrapped his left pinky around yours. He gave you a small smile when you pressed your thumb to his and kissed the tip of both of your thumbs. "I take pinky promises very seriously. No matter what Jun-woo attempts, I won't leave you." You reassured him when you pulled your pinky away. He leaned his back against the wall stretching his legs out and sighed heavily. You moved to do the same right beside him.
"How long has he been doing this to you?" You asked quietly. Han-seo sighed heavily before answering "since I moved into the Jang household as a child." You glanced at Han-seo, you could tell this topic pained him. "I'm sorry for you. Being hurt by someone that is supposed to love you and protect you is a terrible pain a person has to live with." You told him gently. He stayed silent staring off into the room. "I'm also sorry that I hadn't noticed sooner. I've been your best friend since we were children. Yet, I've missed all the signs that you were being abused and mistreated." Your voice became even softer as you spoke and sounded so much sadder than you had intended. "Please, don't feel guilty for that." Han-seo reached into your lap and took your right hand into his left hand. "You were a child! How could anyone hurt you?! It’s so wrong!" Your voice rose in anger as you spoke. You felt his grip tighten on your hand. You looked up to see that Han-seo had raised his right arm to cover his face and moved his legs closer to his torso again. For a moment you were puzzled. Then it hit you like a freight train derailing and crashing. Your tone and voice rising had triggered Han-seo. "Han-seo. I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to..." You lowered your voice and spoke more gently.
You weren't sure if he heard you at all because he had stayed in that position for a few more seconds. Eyes shut so tightly, arm still raised to protect his face. Legs close to him to protect his abdomen. You took note of how heavily he was breathing at the moment. I swear I'm going to kill Jun-woo myself for this. You thought to yourself. You felt his grip begin to loosen on your hand. He slowly began to lower his arm and stretch his legs out again. He hated that hearing the anger in your voice had triggered him the way it did. A part of him knew you weren't angry with him. The other part felt threatened and vulnerable and told him he needed to protect himself. "I'm okay." He whispered keeping his gaze cast towards his lap. You turned your hand over in his, where you could interlock your fingers with his. "I'm sorry. I truly didn't mean to trigger you. I was angry that anyone has the audacity to lay a hand on you." You told him. "That happens sometimes." He told you. Silence had fallen between the two of you. Both of you sat like this for hours before moving to his bed to sleep.
✨✨✨✨
Your body cramped when you woke up the next morning. Sitting on the floor, not moving, for hours wasn't the best idea before laying in a bed. You had decided to stay with him last night. You weren’t willing to leave him alone. You were currently lying on your back. Han-seo snoring away on you. While you had slept he curled into your left side, his right leg lazily draped over your pelvis. You glanced down at his sleeping form. How is that comfortable? You silently wondered when you saw he had his left arm folded in between you and his chest. His other arm slung over your abdomen. His head laying on your chest, more towards your shoulder. He looked so peaceful in this moment. You gently moved his hair to check his eye. You sighed heavily when you noticed the swelling got worse over night and the bruising darker. You gently began to run your fingers through his hair. Han-seo sighed softly before his voice filled the room. “Morning.” You laughed a little at his muffled groggy voice. Even though his eyes were still closed at the moment you still decided to smile at him. Your heart melting at the way he was smiling with his cheek pressed into you.
Both of your bodies jerked when you heard the front door slam open. He quickly sat up in bed. "He can't know you’re here." He said in a panicked tone. He rushed to hand you all of your belongings before ushering you into his closet. "Just, stay quiet. Okay? This is for your protection." Han-seo pleaded with you as he handed you your phone. Your only response was a small nod before he quickly, but gently shut the closet door, leaving you in the dark. He was thankful that his room was farthest from the front door, almost clear across the house. He quickly jumped back into to bed and covered up. Making it seem like he was still sleeping.
"Oh, dear brother." Jun-woo called out. "I know you couldn't possibly still be sleeping." Your blood ran cold when you heard Jun-woo's slightly muffled sinister tone through the closet door. You flinched when you heard the bedroom door being slammed opened. Not being able to see what was happening may be a blessing or a curse. Though being able to hear, even if slightly muffled, was a curse as well. You weren’t sure which one you would consider worse. "Is something wrong?" You heard Han-seo’s timid voice. "I'm here to finish what I started. I was rudely interrupted by Y/N, remember." You wanted so badly to open the closet door and deck Jun-woo in the face.
"Hm, this won't do. Have you learned your lesson?" Jun-woo asked in a mocking tone. "Y-y-yes, s-sir." Han-seo stuttered out. "What is that lesson?" You could hear Jun-woo's footsteps moving across the floor. You figured he was walking closer to the bed to tower over Han-seo. "Th-that I-I'm your p-puppet. I-I’m not a-a-allowed to th-think for myself." Your heart felt heavy at how scared Han-seo sounded. "Very good. Get dressed, I've got to take you to the doctor. Make up a lie about those wounds." Jun-woo said before leaving the room slamming the door harshly behind him. Being in the closet, you had missed the way Han-seo had flinched and covered his ears.
About three minutes had passed before Han-seo opened the closet door. When he saw your face he gave you a sad smile. You slowly moved forward to hug him, but he held his hand up in a gesture to stop you. "If you hug me, I'll break." He said weakly. You wrapped your arms around yourself and nodded. "Is it safe to step out of the closet?" You quietly asked him, trying to peak over his shoulder. He shook his head no. "I need to get changed, quickly. Once you hear us leave the house, wait ten more minutes and then leave. Okay?" He said as he reached beside you to pull out one of his suits. You nodded "okay". "I'm sorry. For all of this." He gently told you before closing you in the closet again. You could hear him shuffling around his room. Trying his best to get ready as quickly as possible. "Come on!" You heard Jun-woo angrily shout from somewhere within the house. His voice clearly filled with impatience. "Coming." Before Han-seo left the room, he opened the closet once more. "I'll see you later, maybe?" Han-seo whispered. "If it's possible." You whispered back.
He closed the door once more. You sighed heavily. You never imagined that this is how your morning would go. You listened carefully for their departure. After a few minutes you heard the door slam shut. You figured that was Jun-woo's doing. You silently pulled your phone out and set a timer for ten minutes. Making sure it would only vibrate. You also made sure the phone notifications were set on silent. You didn't want to risk being caught if any of their guards stayed behind. Your mind raced with a million thoughts. Especially thoughts of how to explain to your other best friend and roommate Cha-young why you didn't come home last night. Those ten minutes began to feel like years to you. When the timer finally went off you quickly and quietly gathered all of your belongings and made your way out of the house. At this point you didn’t care that you were leaving the house in his over sized shirt, underwear, and socks. Your clothes and shoes bundled up in your arms. When you felt that you were a good distance away from his house you had decided to call Cha-young for a ride. You waited patiently at a bus stop for Cha-young to show up. You only had to wait for about ten minutes. You jumped up from the bench and rushed to her car when she parked to allow you to get in.
"Why didn't you drive last night?" Cha-young asked when you got into her vehicle. "Because, I didn't feel like it." You replied while shrugging. She gave your appearance a once over but didn’t comment on it. "Who did you visit last night?" Cha-young glanced at you when she stopped at a red light. She only glanced for a moment before turning her attention back on the road. "Han-seo." You told her honestly. Cha-young was fully aware of the friendship between you and him. Granted, she was shocked when she found out he is the childhood best friend you always spoke of so fondly. She was equally as shocked when Vincenzo told her that Jang Jun-woo was none other than Jang Han-seok. You remembered how shocked Vincenzo, Cha-young, and Mr. Nam looked when they discovered that by being friends with Han-seo meant you also got to know Jun-woo.
You were sitting at the table in the law firm office, sifting through a folder while waiting for Cha-young. "I've been fooled." You looked up to see Cha-young, Mr. Nam, and Vincenzo walk through the door. "Did I miss something?" You asked. "It's been revealed that her old colleague Jun-woo is actually Jang Han-seok." Mr. Nam said. Your heart dropped at the mention of the last name. Vincenzo gave you a puzzled look. "That can't be right. I mean, with what's happened so far, it doesn't make a lick of sense to me." Your words rushed out. "Why do you say that?" Cha-young crossed her arms. "Well, because Han-seo is my best friend, so I know his brother fairly well." Your words were met with surprised expressions. “How long have you known Han-seo for?” Mr. Nam asked curiously. “Since we were children.” You said. “When Han-seo introduced his brother to you what name did he give to address him by?” Vincenzo questioned. “Uh, he was introduced to me as Jang Jun-woo.” You told him honestly. “That would explain why you can’t imagine him as Jang Han-seok. But, how did you not notice before that he’s Cha-young’s colleague. You’ve also been friends with Cha-young for a long time, correct?” Mr. Nam asked. “I try to separate my work life from my personal life. I never talked about him around Y/N, and I never allowed the two to meet.” Cha-young answered for you. “Well, you did keep me away from your work up until you came to Jipuragi Law Firm. Then I started popping in whenever I could, just like now.” You told her. Mr. Nam still looked shocked at the information that was being shared. Vincenzo looked as if he was plotting something, and Cha-young looked neutral to it all.
Back then you couldn't fathom that Jun-woo would do such heinous acts of violence. Now, considering what you witnessed last night, you could believe it. You sighed heavily and slid down in your seat. "Something's happened." "Yeah, I walked in on Jun-woo hurting Han-seo." It wasn't a question but you replied anyhow. Cha-young sighed heavily as she parked the car. Being caught up in your own thoughts made you miss the fact that she had pulled up to Geumga Plaza.
Cha-young turned to face you. "Listen, Vincenzo and Han-seo have a plan. I don’t know what that plan is, but Vincenzo is trying his best to help take down Jun-woo. With help from Han-seo of course." Cha-young told you. "That's good news. Sounds like the two of you are pretty close now." Cha-young turned to get out of the vehicle. Clearly not wanting to address your assumption. You smiled to yourself at her reaction.
Once you got out, the two of you made your way to the law firm office. When you walked in you were greeted by a shocked looking Mr. Nam. You were puzzled by his look until you looked down at yourself. Your face grew warm when you remembered that you weren’t fully clothed. "There's a reason." You told him as you rushed to pull your pants on. "A reason for what?" You glanced over to see Vincenzo enter the room. "That they were barely dressed." Cha-young answered for you. "Interesting." Vincenzo said as he took his over coat off and sat at his desk. He leaned forward to rest his elbows on the desk and clasped his hands together. You figured that was your queue to explain yourself. You sighed heavily as you took a seat in the closest chair to you. You set your shoes and shirt from yesterday on the table in front of you. After doing that you leaned back, clasping your hands together and resting them on your abdomen. "I went to visit Han-seo last night. When I got there I noticed that the front door was wide open so I walked in." You began to tell them. "When I made it past the entrance I froze." At this point your voice grew softer as tears began to blur your vision. "Han-seo was being held tightly by his tie. His eye, his mouth, and his cheek already hurt. It looked like Jun-woo was going to hit him again, until he noticed me." You cast your gaze to the ceiling, trying your hardest not to cry. "You don't have to explain further, if it hurts to do so." Mr. Nam gently rested a hand on your shoulder squeezing it lightly. You nodded in response to him. Vincenzo had gotten up from his desk to hand you a box of tissues.
You had failed at trying not to cry. Some tears had fallen. You leaned forward for the tissues to clean your cheeks and blow your nose. "It hurts because I've known Han-seo for years. How did I miss all the signs of abuse?!" Sadness and frustration laced heavily in your tone. Mr. Nam sat down beside you. "Sometimes, the abused get so good at hiding the abuse, that no one can tell what goes on behind closed doors. Until the abused feels comfortable enough to tell someone, no one will know otherwise. Sometimes they never speak up at all due to fear of retaliation from their abuser." Mr. Nam spoke softly to you. "Han-seo told me that Jun-woo always hurts people when they find out about his violent side." You had rested your elbows on the table, clasped your hands together, and leaned your forehead against them. "My other problem is, why didn't I notice Jun-woo's sinister behavior before." You sounded so defeated at this point that it even made Vincenzo’s heart ache to see you like this. "Evil has a way of deceiving people." Vincenzo stated. "He's beyond evil! He’s a monster!" You didn't mean to raise your voice but you had reached your breaking point.
You stood up so abruptly that your chair fell on its back. "I can't take this bullshit anymore Vincenzo. Everything he has done thus far, it's cruel. Everything he continues to do is cruel. Either you figure out a way to stop him or I will." Your voice was filled with rage. "I'm begging that you let someone else handle him." You turned to see Han-seo entering the room. The pleading look on his face made your anger disappear and your heart ache. “How did you get away from your guards and Jun-woo?” You asked him. “Jun-woo didn’t stick around at the hospital. Said he had better things to do than wait around for me. As soon as they discharged me, I slipped away from the guards.” Han-seo replied. “Now, back to what I previously said. Please, let someone else do something about Jun-woo. I can’t lose you too.” You looked down at your feet as you processed what he was saying. Looking up at him you said “fine. But next time I see him I’m gonna slap him, and if he dares to hit back I’m gonna kick his “family” jewels.” Cha-young couldn’t hold back her laughter at the last part of your statement. “Fair enough.” Han-seo said with a smile. Your chest filled with warmth when you noticed it was his genuine smile.
“Since you’re here we should go over our plan.” Vincenzo began to walk towards him, when he was close enough he wrapped one arm around his shoulder to lead him out of the room. You, Cha-young, and Mr. Nam stood puzzled on what to do. You startled a little when you felt your phone buzz. Pulling it out of your pants pocket you opened it to see a new text from Han-seo. The less you know, the better.~Han-seo You held your phone out to show Mr. Nam and Cha-young. “Well, I suppose that makes sense.” Mr. Nam said as he walked to his desk to sit down. “Does it though.” You could hear the pout in Cha-young’s voice as she spoke. You couldn’t shake the feeling of dread that had suddenly washed over you. Maybe not knowing is the best, but that doesn’t make me worry any less. You silently thought to yourself. You took this moment as an opportunity to go change into the shirt you wore yesterday.
Two hours had passed before Vincenzo and Han-seo showed up again. “We’ve set the first part of our plan in motion. Later tonight the second and last part will be set in motion. If all goes smoothly, this blood feud ends tonight.” Vincenzo stated with such confidence that it concerned you. You decided to brush off that feeling considering you knew his background pretty well at this point. “I’m seriously sorry about this morning.” You turned your attention to Han-seo as he spoke. “You did what was best for me. Don’t worry, I don’t hold anything against you.” You told him, giving him a soft smile. Sometimes, the abused get so good at hiding the abuse, that no one can tell what goes on behind closed doors. Mr. Nam’s words from earlier rang loudly in your mind when you saw Han-seo’s posture become more relaxed.
All the signs were there, I was just too young to understand what was going on. You thought to yourself. “Is everything all right, you keep zoning out.” Han-seo’s voice pulled you from your thoughts. “Uh, yeah. I have a lot on my mind at the moment. That’s all.” You replied. Han-seo nodded and continued his conversation with Cha-young and Vincenzo. You missed the concerned look that Mr. Nam had been giving you for the past ten minutes. “The last part I will take care of, with help of course.” You turned to Vincenzo as he spoke. “Okay, you’ve told me that you both have a plan. Part of that plan is already in motion as we speak, and the rest is to happen tonight. But, you haven’t given me any details of the plan.” Cha-young stated in frustration. “It’s for your own safety. More details will be given out later.” Vincenzo told her. Cha-young ran her hands down the length of her face and sighed heavily.
“Let’s not discuss this further. Place an order of what you want for lunch, including you” He glanced at Han-seo as he spoke. Of course Han-seo had to be silly about it, he first looked around the room acting like that wasn’t directed at him. Then he pointed at himself with a smile. Vincenzo rolled his eyes at his antics before nodding his head at him. “Once the orders are placed, Y/N and I will pick them up for you.” He finished speaking. You gave him a puzzled look because you would think he would have the food delivered to the firm. You studied his face noticing he was giving you a look that said he needed to speak to you alone. Your stomach dropped as your mind began to run rampant with thoughts of why that could be. Once everyone wrote down their order, Mr. Nam made the call and said Mr. Cassano will pick up the order. He was told it would be done in an hour.
Thirty minutes of talking about anything and everything had passed by when Vincenzo suddenly stood up. “There’s no harm in going to wait for our order now.” He looked at you as he spoke. You nodded your head and stood up. Slowly following behind him. He had to stop once because you had fallen so far behind. You mumbled an apology when you caught up to him. The rest of the walk to his vehicle was filled with complete silence. Once inside the vehicle that’s when he began to break the silence. “I’ve discussed this with Han-seo already, but the last plan involves you.” Vincenzo said as he fastened his seat belt and then turned the key in the ignition, putting the vehicle into drive as he pulled away from the building. “Wait, why?!” You asked him in a panicked tone. “Because, you may not know this, but you’re Jun-woo’s weakness.” Vincenzo stated as a matter of fact. You gave him a puzzled look, even though he was paying attention to the road so it was pointless but whatever. “Vincenzo, how could I be a weakness to such a monster?” Your words dripping with hatred. “I’ve observed his behavior when you end up having to be around him with Han-seo.” “What behavior would that be?” “It’s the jealous look he gives Han-seo when you stand so close to him. The fact that when he looks at you he always shows you a genuine smile. It’s the way his posture is severely stiff and on guard around everyone except you.” “Vincenzo, what are you getting at?” “What I’m getting at is that man may believe he is in love with you. What I know is, he doesn’t know what love is. You’re more of an object that he wants to possess.” The vehicle was stopped at a red light when Vincenzo glanced at you. Your blood ran cold as you realized this was the other-shoe-waiting-to-drop. You also began to think hard about all the moments your were roped into spending time with him and Han-seo together.
As if on cue your phone vibrated in your pocket. By the time you were able to pull it out of your pocket, Vincenzo was parking the car. You sighed before unlocking your phone to see a new text notification. Heart pounding frantically when you read the name of the sender. We should talk tonight-Jun-woo You felt nauseous when you saw that he had added the emoji with hearts surrounding it. “Something wrong?” Vincenzo turned in his seat so his body was facing you more. “First off, shouldn’t your body be turned towards the door and not me. You know, never expose your back or whatever.” You pointed out to him. He gave you a smirk and nodded at you before turning his body towards his door. “Second, and lastly. Jun-woo texted me. His ears must be burning or something.” You turned your phone so that Vincenzo could see the screen. “Or the universe may be working in our favor.” Vincenzo stated. “Either way, I don’t like this.” You whispered as you sent a reply to Jun-woo. What time and what location-Y/N You silently stared at your phone impatiently waiting for a response from him. You barely heard Vincenzo say that he’ll be back. Time seemed to fly before you finally got a reply. How about my place, around 8pm. Don’t tell Han-seo. Let this be our little secret (winky face)~Jun woo You felt bile in the back of your throat. Hating the fact that Vincenzo may have been right about the universe working in your favor. It still made you wonder how you fit into his plan to knock Jun-woo down several notches. Fine. I’ll see you at 8pm, don’t expect me to dress fancy or anything like that.~Y/N This time you only had to wait three minutes for a response. Someone’s in a mood. I like it.~Jun-woo Vincenzo gave you a puzzled look when he got in the vehicle handing the food off to you. As he was getting in you made a gagging sound. Instead of explaining it verbally, you handed your phone over to Vincenzo. You watched a grimace grace his features. “Disgusting.” He said as he handed your phone back to you. He turned the key in the ignition and put the vehicle in reverse. Making his way out of the parking lot and back to the law firm.
✨✨✨✨
“How did Han-seo react to the last part of the plan?” You asked when Vincenzo put his vehicle into park at the plaza. The entire ride back had been silent up until this very moment. “He was fuming. He hates it. He’s fiercely protective of you. Have you noticed that?” Vincenzo asked as he pocketed his keys and unbuckled his seat belt. “I have. He’s always made me feel safe and comfortable.” You softly said as you unbuckled your seat belt. “Wait, I need to know that you consent to being part of this. That if it comes down to it, you’d be willing to face whatever comes your way. No matter what it may be.” Vincenzo gently grasped your forearm. “For Han-seo, I’d do anything. Even if it meant losing my own life.” You admitted. Vincenzo nodded as he let your arm go. The two of you stepped out of the vehicle and headed to the office. Walking together in silence. Your heart felt heavy and your soul felt tired. However, you meant every word you said to Vincenzo.
“We’re back.” Vincenzo announced when he walked through the doors. You walked to the table with the food in your arms. Setting the bag down on the table and passing out the correct orders. You sat down beside Han-seo. You pulled your phone out, opened the text messages, and turned the screen towards him. You closely watched his reaction to the texts he had to read. You could see the anger flash across his face, then it was replaced with a look of fear. He looked up into your eyes. Your heart sunk at all the emotions hidden within his stare. Fear, hurt, and anger. “Is there really no other way?” He turned to Vincenzo who happened to be mid bite. “There isn’t. Unfortunately for Y/N, this works more in our favor. I know the exact time and location.” “Wait, what if this is a trap.” You practically shout out. Vincenzo raised a brow at you. “I’m prepared for that. I just need to tell the others involved.” “Is there nothing we can do?” Cha-young asked motioning her index finger at herself and then at Mr. Nam. “Stand by and wait for instructions. That’s the best I can tell you.” Vincenzo finally took the bite of food after he spoke.
You glanced at Han-seo and noticed the way he was poking at his food instead of eating. You hated to admit that you had also lost your appetite as well. He looked up to meet your gaze and gently spoke “I’ll eat, if you eat”. You smiled and gave a small laugh. “Okay” you told him as you took a bite of food. Mind drifting to an old memory.
You tilted you head as you placed your lunch box in front of Han-seo. You noticed how he slumped and poked at his food. Something was clearly wrong but you didn’t know what. “I’ll eat, if you eat.” You said as you sat down across the table from him. “Oh, Y/N. I’m sorry I didn’t notice you at first.” He said in that cheerful goofy voice of his. “I’ll eat, if you eat.” You repeated to him. He gave you a look of curiosity before saying “okay” and began to eat. You didn’t ask what was wrong. Instead you talked his ear off about one of your favorite hobbies while eating. From that moment on, that phrase was spoken by one or the other between the two of you.
Han-seo smiled to himself when he saw a small smile grace your features. It was clear to him that his words triggered a happy memory for you. He startled in response to Mr. Nam tapping his shoulder. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to startle you.” Mr. Nam said. You glanced up to Han-seo, without thinking you spoke his name softly and reached for his hand. He didn’t flinch or move his hand away from you. Instead he intertwined his fingers with yours, squeezed a bit tightly, and took a deep breathe. When he was more composed, his grip in your hand loosened but he didn’t let go. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to react like that.” Han-seo said. “No need to apologize. I should have verbally announced myself before tapping your shoulder.” Mr. Nam spoke in a calming tone. I wish I wasn’t like this. Han-seo thought bitterly to himself. “It’s okay.” You told him as you gently squeezed his hand. “Thank you.” He said. You smiled at him before he turned his attention back to Mr. Nam “what did you need my attention for.” Mr. Nam took a moment to answer. “Oh, I was going to ask if you would like some tea or coffee.” “Tea sounds good.” Mr. Nam nodded as he walked off to get himself and Han-seo a cup of tea.
Cha-young and Vincenzo stayed silent during the whole ordeal, neither one knowing how to respond, but taking note of how to get Han-seo’s attention when they needed to. Vincenzo also took note on how it seemed like you were able to ground Han-seo. After about three minutes Mr. Nam returned to the table, carefully placing a cup in front of Han-seo. You gently gave his hand another gentle squeeze before releasing it. He took that as his cue to continue eating.
“We set into action the moment you arrive at Jun-woo’s house.” Vincenzo suddenly said. You nodded “I understand.” “This means that you need to stick to your part of the plan. Regardless of how protective you are of Y/N.” Vincenzo said in a stern voice. Han-seo looked up from his food “I’ll try my best.” “If that’s how it is, than I’ll accept that.” “When you said for us to standby. What did you mean?” Cha-young asked him. “What I mean is, the two of you will stay in the surveillance van. Mi-ri will hack into Jun-woo’s cameras so that we have a live feed of what’s going on and of what’s being said.” Vincenzo answered honestly. Cha-young nodded in understanding. She looked like she wanted to say more, but opted to stay silent instead.
No more questions had been asked, so everyone decided to finish eating in silence. Once the food was gone Han-seo slowly stood up. “I should head back now, before anyone notices my absence and begins to look for me.” He announced as he stood.  Not that they care enough about me to do so. He thought bitterly to himself. “Keep in mind that you’re not supposed to know about Y/N meeting up with Jun-woo tonight.” Vincenzo said. Han-seo nodded. “I’ll play dumb, it’s what I’m good at apparently.” He gave a sad smile as he spoke. “Be safe.” Cha-young looked up to him as she spoke. You saw Mr. Nam nod in agreement to her statement. He gave you one last smile before he walked out of the office. After Han-seo left Vincenzo began discussing what he expected from Mr. Nam, Cha-young, and yourself.
✨✨✨✨
You looked yourself over in the mirror one last time. You had told Jun-woo that you weren’t going to dress fancy or anything. So, you opted for your favorite hoodie paired with a comfy pair of pants and combat boots. You startled when you heard your phone go off. Slowly you reached over to pick it up, unlocking the screen. Do try to be on time. I have a surprise for you.~Jun-woo That statement alone made you feel quite uneasy. I’m leaving my house now. Hold your horses.~Y/N You had hit send before you could change your mind about your wording. This was one of those moments where you knew your sass would get you in trouble. You sighed heavily as you walked out of the house, locking the door behind you. From what you understood, everyone was already in place for what would go down tonight.
The drive to Jun-woo’s felt like it took forever, that was just your nerves getting the best of you though. You slowly pulled into his drive way. When you had gotten close enough you silently stopped and put the vehicle into park. You took a moment to compose yourself before getting out of your vehicle. You rang the door bell when you got to the door. You couldn’t bring yourself to knock because your hands were shaking a bit.
“Look at that, you’re on time.” His words and wicked smile greeted you when he opened the door. You couldn’t help but roll your eyes at him as you stepped past him into his home. You had missed the way your attitude had made his lip twitch in annoyance. Jun-woo had his back facing you as he closed the door. You stopped dead in your tracks. Your heart sinking and your blood running cold. “Surprise.” Jun-woo said as he walked to stand next to Han-seo. He was currently kneeling on his knees, hands bound behind his back, head down and slouched forward a bit. Jun-woo roughly grabbed him by the hair to pull his head up. The moment his eyes locked with yours tears began to blur your vision. “What the fuck?!” You angrily shouted at Jun-woo. “Simple, he had what I wanted. I’m sure you understand what I mean by that.” He released him, pushing him roughly causing him to fall to his side.
Jun-woo crouched down next to Han-seo’s body, pulling a knife out of his pocket. You stepped forward but stopped when he pointed the blade in your direction, waving it back and forth in a motion to say no. “You’re a monster.” Your words dripping with anger as you spoke. He scoffed at your words “you realize I’m doing all of this for you, right?” “Why the fuck would I think that?” “It’s because I love you.” “Jun-woo, this isn’t love.” He lowered the blade to Han-seo, cutting the rope that bound his wrists. He used him to push himself to stand up. You stepped back as he stepped closer to you.
Han-seo slowly pulled himself into a sitting position. His head throbbed with every movement. His entire body ached. He froze, watching Jun-woo walk towards you. “You were never meant to get mixed up with this side of me. You were only meant to ever see the clueless, puppy like, and adorable Jun-woo. Not the cold blooded, I get my way, I never fail Han-seok.” His tone colder than you had ever heard it. “I refuse you.” You said defiantly as you threw a punch towards his face. You had clocked him in the jaw pretty hard, but all it did was made him stumble away from you a bit. Rubbing and flexing his jaw he turned to you again, this time pointing a gun at you. When he stumbled he had reached into his pocket to pull it out. Somehow you and Han-seo had missed that.
“This silly game ends here. You have a choice, him or you.” You froze when you heard the lever on the gun click. It was at this moment that Vincenzo burst through the door. This had startled Jun-woo and caused him to pull the trigger. The bullet had missed you and landed in the wall beside you. With this distraction you moved past him to kneel beside Han-seo. “It’s rude to interrupt.” He pointed his gun at Vincenzo. “You’re worse than I thought. You lure a woman to your house and kidnap your own brother.” Vincenzo said stepping more into the room, Jun-woo followed his moves with his gun. “As if you’re one to talk. I’m sure you’ve done far worse than I.” Jun-woo stated bitterly.
You slowly helped Han-seo to his feet as the two of you watched the scene before you. “Y/N, don’t think you can escape. I want you to stand next to Vincenzo, right now.” He commanded. “Hurry up now, or the next round goes straight into this idiot’s skull.” He turned his attention towards you. You gulped as you slowly made your way to stand where you were told. Han-seo didn’t move from where he stood, out of fear that one of you would be shot.
“Be a good brother and grab that hockey stick over there.” Jun-woo didn’t take his eyes off of you or Vincenzo as he gestured with his free hand. He took a deep sigh “either do as I say or one of these two get shot.” He stepped closer to you. You looked passed him to see Han-seo slowly walk towards the hockey stick. “I want you to beat this mafia scum to death.” You turned to Vincenzo, he didn’t even flinch. “You sick bastard. You never should have been born!!” You raised your voice in anger.
The sound of his open palm slapping your right cheek resonated throughout the room. The impact causing you to fall to the ground. Anger boiled within Han-seo. Jun-woo squatted down in front of you. “Now, that really hurt. I shouldn’t have been born?” Jun-woo grabbed your chin forcing you to look at him. “Brother, don’t you think that’s a bit harsh?” Jun-woo asked as he roughly released your chin and stood up again. “Now, unfortunately you have to stay where you are while Han-seo does as he was told.” Jun-woo’s form loomed over you, gun pointed directly at your head.
“If I kill Mr. Cassano, what happens next?” Han-seo asked without moving. “Simple, we have one less issue to worry about. And maybe the two of you get to live.” Jun-woo shrugged his shoulders as he spoke. “What makes you think I won’t speak out against you?” You raised yourself into a sitting position. “You’ll do as I say or else I could end you at any moment. Duh!” He responded. “Stop stalling.” He directed his words at Han-seo. “Do as he says.” Vincenzo said. You glanced up in shock. Looking between him and Han-seo. “I’m sorry… Mr. Cassano” He stepped forward slowly raising the hockey stick with every step. “It’s okay, you have no other choice.” Vincenzo spoke again. You looked over to Jun-woo in time to see his eyes roll. You could tell he was growing impatient with every moment that passed by.
“Okay. I’ll make a decision I won’t regret.” He angled the hockey stick and slammed it hard into Jun-woo’s side. The moment you saw him angle the hockey stick was when you decided to fall to your side. When the stick made impact with his side, it had caused him to pull the trigger, making the gun go off. The bullet barely missing you as it flew past. He groaned in pain as he fell to the ground. He was momentarily stunned by what happened. He was laying on his back when Han-seo was about to hit him for a second time. The gun went off again, the bullet lodging itself right into his left bicep. The stick fell loudly to the floor as he went to cup his wound. This gave Jun-woo enough time to jump to his feet. Han-seo lunged forward grabbing for the gun, still in Jun-woo’s grasp. “Please, stop!” Han-seo struggled against him. He was pushed away.
Jun-woo turned towards you and Vincenzo. Aiming the gun directly at you as you tried to leave with Vincenzo. He was able to fire twice before he was back to struggling against Han-seo. The first shot missed, the second one however, grazed your right bicep. Pain instantly making you stop in your tracks. Vincenzo giving you a concerned looked. That’s a six shooter. He’s only got one round left. You thought to yourself. You weren’t even sure how your panicked brain had figured that out, but here you were.
Han-seo continued to struggle against his brother. Frantically trying to steal the gun away from him. “Please, stop!” Han-seo begged, maneuvering the two of their bodies to where the gun was pointed at the floor. “Let go.” “You really… shouldn’t have been born. Never. You scum.” Han-seo tightened his grip, which had caused the gun to release the final round. Jun-woo used more of his strength to push against Han-seo. His movement causing them to stand and the grip loosen. He punched Han-seo in the face, knocking him to the ground before taking off. Vincenzo was distracted by checking your wound, giving Jun-woo just enough time to run out the balcony door and jump down to the ground below.
Cupping your wound you went to Han-seo. Kneeling down beside him as he began to sit up. Vincenzo made a call before he walked out of the house. “He’s going to get him. Don’t worry.” You told him. The two of you startled when you heard the door open again. Instantly relaxing when you noticed it was Cha-young and Mr. Nam. “Are you hurt badly?” Mr. Nam rushed to your side, helping you to your feet. Cha-young was helping Han-seo stand. “Just the wound on my upper arm.” You told him. He nodded as he led you out of the house. “Can I get your keys.” Mr. Nam politely asked when you stepped outside. “Uh, yeah.” You dug your keys out of your pocket and handed them over.
He unlocked your vehicle. You slowly lowered yourself into the backseat behind the driver’s seat. Cha-young sat in the front seat. Leaving Han-seo to sit in the back with you. At this point you began to feel woozy and light headed from the blood loss. “Here, let me turn this into a tourniquet.” Han-seo was taking off his tie as he spoke to you. All you could do was weakly nod your head at him. “It might hurt a bit.” He began to wrap it around your arm, pulling it tightly each time he wound it around. You winced in pain. “I’m sorry.” He whispered to you, tying off the tie. The ride to the hospital was rough. At one point you closed your eyes.
✨✨✨✨
When your eyes opened again, you were met by the brightness of a hospital room. You began to sit up slowly. Glancing to your right you see Han-seo with his head down, your hand in his. “Oh, you’re awake.” Mr. Nam spoke softly as he walked into the room. “How long have I been out for?” You asked him. “About six hours, give or take.” He responded. You glanced down to Han-seo again. “He’s been by your side the whole time after he was looked over.” Mr. Nam went to stand on your left side. You smiled softly “it’s always been like that. Whenever we’d get hurt, no matter how the other was feeling, we’d stay by each other’s side.” You gently ran your free hand through his hair. The movement causing him to stir. He sat up quickly when he noticed you were awake.
He was greeted by a soft smile when he met your gaze. He looked over to see Mr. Nam and his face became warm. Mr. Nam didn’t say anything, he only smiled. “Any word from Vincenzo?” Han-seo directed his question at Mr. Nam. “He said to let you know that Jun-woo is no longer a threat, also to say farewell, you’ll hear from him eventually.” Mr. Nam responded. “Okay.” You could hear the hurt in his voice. “This isn’t a forever goodbye, you’ll probably see him again, at some point in the future.” You gently squeezed his hand.
“If I didn’t know better, it would seem like the two of you are in a relationship.” You looked over to see Cha-young leaning against the door frame. A smirk gracing her features. Your face grew warm at her comment. “It’s funny, we’ve heard that from everyone around us since we were teenagers.” Han-seo admitted openly. “Well, I can see why. The chemistry between the two of you, it’s like you’re both puzzle pieces that fit perfectly together. Two souls that became one.” Mr. Nam said fondly. “It just feels natural to me. They’ve always been there for me.” Han-seo met your gaze, you could see fondness in his eyes. “Even when I tried to push you away at one point. You were stubborn and continued to stick by me. I’m sorry I was such a pain and said such hurtful words back then.” He spoke softly as tears began to blur his vision. Guilt overwhelming him. “Hey now, I could tell you were going through a rough time. I didn’t know what exactly, but my gut said you needed me more than ever then. I’m sorry that I hadn’t known what was going on sooner.” Your voice gentle as you spoke. “It wouldn’t have changed anything. Except put you in danger of his wrath.” With his free hand he reached forward towards your face, to gently wipe away the tears that streamed down your cheeks.
“Thank you, for being there regardless of not knowing fully what was going on.” He whispered as he stood leaning towards you to gently place a kiss upon your brow. Mr. Nam and Cha-young silently watched the two of you. “We should go.” Mr. Nam whispered to Cha-young. She nodded at him before speaking, “listen, we’re going to head home now. The doctors informed us that you have to stay here a few days before they discharge you. It’s because you needed a blood transfusion, so they need to monitor you.” Han-seo sat back in his chair. “I’ll still be here.” He reassured you. “You always are.” You said with a smile.
“I’m proud of you. Just so you know.” You told him. “What for?” He asked softly. “For being able to stand up against your brother.” He smiled softly, his chest filling with warmth at your statement. He was pretty proud of himself as well. It may have taken him years to do so, but he had finally turned his fear into strength. Making him able to go up against Jun-woo. However, he knew if it hadn’t have been for you, he wouldn’t have been able to do that. He wasn’t ready to admit it out loud, you were the reason he was able to do what needed to be done. Even if that had meant risking his own life.

Pairing : Crowned Prince!Na Jaemin x Commen person!reader
Summary: He wanted a queen to rule beside him. But he fell in love with her who wasn't in the position to rule. Will he marry against his heart Or will he marry her against the rules?
Jaemin was called by his father who was in his room. Jaemin knew what it would be about. He closed the door of his father's room and later sat on the chair near his father's bed. Na Minhyuk, Jaemin's father was sipping on his tea as he looked at him. "Jaemin you know why you're called here, we've invited the princess of the neighbouring kingdom who is also allies with us." "Dad I've told you already that I'm not marrying anyone. I'm fine as a lone king."
"DO NOT ARGUE WITH ME Na JAEMIN. I know you've been seeing that café owner from One whole year. I've been quiet thinking you're just playing around but this is unacceptable." Jaemin widened his eyes as he looked at his father, not believing he knew about his secret. Presentlt, Jaemin now sat in his room as he felt stressed. Soon he remembered his comfort person, who he really needs at the time.
Jaemin sat at the table in the café. Jaemin sipped on his coffee of eight shots of expresso, as Y/n looked at him worried about him. "Baby, why don't you tell me what happened" Jaemin inhaled sharply as he set his cup down and looked at the love of his life. "My father, 'your great king' is planning to marry me off with the princess of the Neighbouring kingdom. And, Apparently he also knows about us and he fucking thought I want playing around with you."
Y/n smiled at him completely ignoring the second part of his sentence as she said, "Well you should definitely follow your father's order." "Are you crazy? THAT WOULD FUCKING BREAK US APART." "Do you even hear yourself right now Jaemin. We were never meant to be together." "Well let me prove you that we are destined together, If you won't fight for us at least I will. I will fucking make it work Kim Y/n."
Jaemin stormed out of the café as Y/n finally let her tears fall, as she let out choked sobs. She loved him though she was forbid from doing so, she went against everything for love and now that love is against her. She just accepted the fact and was trying to move on as even her marriage was set with the rich hier Jeno.
Jaemin sat across Seok-kyung, the princess of Ayame, as his had no signs of emotion. Thier parents were talking to each other about when to keep the wedding, and about the arrangements while the spoken latters just sat there with no sparks for each other. "Well Jaemin, Seok-kyung will be staying here for a month so you can get along and get to know each other more." Jaemin finally forced on a smile as he replied by giving his father a firm nod.
Jaemin sat in his room, thinking about how to stop his marriage, when he heard a knock on his bedroom door. Jaemin let out an annoyed 'come in' as soon as the door opened he saw Seok-kyung standing there. Before she could walk in and greet him, Jaemin cut her off, "Your room is the other side, you can ask someone they'll show it to you." "Well I actually came here to speak to you."
Seok-kyung replied as she sat on the edge of his bed, Before she could Jaemin again cut her off as he Balantly spoke, "Look not meaning to hurt you but I'm nowhere interested in this marriage as you are. And never expect me to fall for you because I belong to someone else and no one can steal me from her." He Prepared himself for a harsh slap across his as he closed his eyes.
He soon shot his eyes open at sound of her laugh, "I was going to way more rude but thank you, you said that because, even I'm nowhere interested in this marriage. Actually I'm already in a relationship with Han Seo jun." Jaemin looked at her shocked as he felt somewhat happy knowing he doesn't have to fake his feelings.
"Well then the reason I came here for is already done, I'm gonna go on my way. Bye Prince Jaemin." Before Jaemin could process and reply she was already out of his sight.
-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-
It had been 2 weeks since Princess Seok-kyung moved to the palace. Well must be said that Jaemin and Seok-kyung did grew close, as friends. They soon felt like best friends as they were going through the same things. They now sat at their normal coffee place as they spoke about random things. Until Jaemin popped up a question.
"What are you and Seojun gonna do? How are you gonna get away from this marriage." "Simple actually, once I turn Twenty years old which will be next month, I will be eligible to give a royal title and that's exactly what I'm gonna do" Jaemin's eyes widened as he swiftly turns his head at Seok-kyung wanting her to repeat what she just said. Seok-kyung let out a nervous chuckle until she realised he didn't actually know the possibility of it.
"Did u not attend the Royal hierarchy class?" "Wait. There's a class like that?" Seok-kyung is extremely shocked at what she just heard, not wanting to believe that his father would stoop so low to break a beautiful couple but she couldn't do anything but that when the evidence was right in front of her. "If you are in love with a person who is not matching your Royal status, you can ask a noble to give them a title and if you yourself are a noble you can declare them a forever title with your blood mixed with theirs."
:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:
Jaemin saw red as he marched up to the Royal hall of the Kingdom as he dragged Y/n by her wrist. On the throne sat his father who was shocked to see a non-noble being brought into his holy enchanted palace but Jaemin didn't care. While the other sub-nobles sat there shocked but happy that what was supposed to happen is finally happening as they watch Jaemin take out his sword glides it downwards and looks at his lover with soft eyes. "Bow down my princess." Trusting him Y/n bows down in front of the sword till the sword is inches away from her face. "I, Na Jaemin, the crowned prince, the future king of Onheirvenia, will officially give a title to Kim Y/n, as the Princess of this Kingdom and as the crowned princess and thus rule alongside me." His father rose up in his throne as he was about to make his way towards his son, Jaemin interrupts him as he starts again, his next line taking his father by shock, "According to the rules of the Royal noble people, a crowned prince always has the ability to take over the throne whenever he wants to. And thus, I hereby say that my coronation which will take place alongside with my future queen will taken place by next week. And now for the last task." Jaemin motions for the guards and as they bring in the most infamous prisoner in the kingdom, the person who killed the mother of the said boy standing there. "This is Kim Taewon, Y/n's father, who was said to kill my mother, isn't actually the murderer instead this man was framed by my father right here who is the real killer. My father killed my mother because he was furious to know his wife was in past was in love with his dreaded enemy. That's why he killed my mother and framed the innocent man who had two children on his own. You people can decide what justice can be given to the innocent man and what punishment does this disgusting man deserves." Jaemin frees Kim Taewon as he holds his lover's hand and she tried to control her overflowing tears. Jaemin stood in front of Taewon as he bows.
-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-
"And that was the story of how your mother turned from being my midnight rose to being my beautiful Jasmine." Jaemin finished as his Daughter and his son looked at him admiration. Until their moment was cut off by their mother as she walked in and looked at her husband finally saying the actual story to their kids before saying, "I don't think I can ever be more grateful to anyone than you." Jaemin just lets out a chuckle as he rushes the kids to have dinner and pecking the lips of the love of his life before walking out of the door.

seo-jun x gn!reader x su-ho
genre: platonic, angst, unrequited love
warnings: swearing i think? lowercase intentional i'm trying new stuff guys alright, mentions of death, and then just. angst
synopsis: seojun knew it would end up like this. and so did you. but you couldn't stop your hearts from feeling, could you? you could only watch as they shattered, together, trying to comfort each other even if only slightly as your own pain overwhelmed each of you.
author’s note: i love seojun a lot actually guys like i want him as my best friend
Tumblr media Tumblr media
unrequited. the first word that comes to mind is love, isn’t it? an unrequited love. a love that isn’t reciprocated. love. something overwhelming. something that makes your heart feel things nothing else would. if love is so large and profound, if it takes over your heart— then what becomes of it when it’s unrequited?
it hurts. it hurts like death.
if love envelops your heart with rose petals, then the realization that it can’t be reciprocated turns those petals into chains that tighten around it until it shatters. and when it shatters, it’s utterly painful. it can bring you to tears, it can make you freeze entirely, it can make you scream, yell, throw things. and sometimes none of the above. sometimes you’re partly over it— sometimes you knew the love was unrequited from the moment it began.
so you stand still.
and that’s just what you and han seojun did while watching the people you both liked kiss.
the wind and distant, incoherent yelling of the other students was the only thing that filled the otherwise overbearing silence. you stared down at the scene, unmoving, expressionless.
“are you okay?” seojun asked.
“yeah.” you said. “are you okay?”
“yeah.”
you both sighed in sync, and you watched as the couple pulled away from their embrace, only for jukyung to run away. and as usual, suho followed.
“i like jukyung.” seojun said. you scoffed with no energy, shoulders falling.
“i’ve heard this one too many times.” you sighed. you swallowed thickly, “i like suho.”
“this is starting to sound like a broken record.” seojun claimed, earning a chuckle from you. he smiled a bit, “we’re really bad at choosing the people we like, aren’t we?”
you sighed. “yeah. we are.”
deep down, you knew neither of you chose to like suho and jukyung. neither of you chose to make your heart beat so fast it hurt anytime you’d see them. neither of you chose a path you knew would only bring you pain. your heart did. you hated that. both of you.
the worst of it was that suho seemed happy. and that brought a small smile to your face. yet you wanted to cry when you thought about the reason why he was happy. and then you felt like it was wrong, because you couldn’t wish for him to be unhappy. you couldn’t wish for his love to be unrequited. not when you wanted to see him smile so much.
but it hurt.
“we should leave.” you sighed, crossing you arms and turning to face seojun. “if we keep staying alone together like this we might actually get people to think we’re dating.”
he laughed, turning to face you. “wouldn’t you be overjoyed? i’m the han seojun, after all.”
you flicked his forehead and he muttered an insult that you ignored as you started walking away.
“honestly, it might not be bad for us to be dating.” he said.
“you’re kidding. this would make everything worse. we’d only be doing it to ease each other’s pain. how could we even call it dating when we both know we like someone else?”
“dunno.” he sighed, following you. “just saying.”
maybe you would date. neither of you were known to be good at decision-making, after all. he ran up to you and he threw his arm over your shoulder, making you laugh as you tried to push him away. the sound of your laughter was almost enough to drown out the sound of the pain in your chests. almost.

not gonna miss this chance
Characters: Han Seojun & soloist!female reader
Genre: fluff
Setting: true beauty au, set a year after the tv show’s ending timeline
Summary: Your career is on the verge of ending, hence your management puts you up to do a duet with the infamous Han Seojun. You have heard too many rumours about him to keep track of and yet, none of them could have prepared you for the feelings that came with meeting him.
Words: 4.1k
Self indulgent little snippet because he deserves happiness too.
Tumblr media
You had heard of Han Seojun before meeting him, of course you had. Everybody who was in the industry had heard of the hot trend of a Newstagram star-turned idol and his band's shining debut from a year ago. They were told to have snatched teenage girls hearts all over Korea with their good looks and soulful music. You had heard their title track and you had to admit it was nice but nice wasn't enough in a cut-throat industry like entertainment.
Look at you, starting training at twelve, debuting at fifteen and now barely twenty-one you were on the verge of becoming a thrown away doll. Once you had been called cute and the it girl of your generation and now? People were saying you got boring just because your music had matured. Gosh, you couldn't keep singing about first love like your hit song had been for the rest of your life for god's sake. Your last album had been a flop, your company had been losing money and you were still afraid that even with a year left of your contract, they would cut you. But your manager had begged them for a chance and here it was: a collaboration with the newest love of Korea.
But the thing was, Han Seojun had quite a reputation and you didn't know who to believe. Some said he was well-mannered and hard-working. Others gossiped that he was always flirting with his makeup artists and Chen claimed he had been rude to her even when he had just been a ‘nobody’. Not that you were particularly fond of Chen either but as a fellow solo female singer you were a tad bit worried how the infamous singer would treat you.
Well, standing in front of Move Entertainment, you were just about to find out. Taking a shallow breath you followed your manager's lead, bowing to the receptionist and getting into the elevator after taking your visitor's badge. You had heard the company has gone through many changes after the executives were replaced due to the revealed Seyeon scandal but everything looked expensive, shiny and new, unlike in your small agency.
“Hey, I’m Lim Heekyung, nice to meet you. Seojun will be in a minute, too,” a woman in a pantsuit walked up to you on the right floor with a confident smile as she introduced herself. She led you to a meeting room which was apparently customized for a few people only and started preparing papers. She looked excited which was a relief and nice to see, at least someone from Move Entertainment was happy for this project apparently. You were a bit afraid they would see you like a leech, trying to cling onto their new star’s popularity.
“Shall we start? Seojun is a fan of dramatic entrances anyways,” Miss Lim laughed joyfully as if it wasn’t new to her that the idol didn’t make it on time. Ah yeah, you had heard rumours saying that he had something on the company and that was why they were so lenient with him.
You sat in silence, let your manager do the talk about the collaboration project. Seojun could play the guitar, you could play the piano, apparently it was perfect for a ballad duet, though if you used instruments yourself it added to the preparations time. But luckily, there was a songwriter named Leo at the company who had already sent in a few samples specifically for Seojun, so you didn’t have to start from zero.
“Ah, I see you started without me. What did I miss?” A tall boy opened the door wide and flipped down onto the chair across you casually. He had grown into his lanky limbs and with those wide shoulders hugged by the leather jacket, helix earrings in one ear and soft brown hair brushed to one side, it wasn’t a surprise how many female fans swooned over him. But there were a lot of handsome boys in the business, just his looks – no matter how confident he was in them based on the way he carried himself – wouldn’t make a difference.
Miss Lim patiently let Seojun know about the advances and only when she mentioned your name, did the boy glance at you. His dark brown eyes had a sharp form, just as piercing as his gaze, but the cunning smile spreading over his lips softened it a bit. He looked at you as if he wanted to see through you, to figure out how he should have approached you. You expected a snarky or arrogant comment, but in the end, he just flashed a blinding smile at you, one you could see on his posters, before turning back to Miss Lim.
“What’s the schedule?” he asked simply and you both were notified about the deadline of deciding and finalizing the song, the dates of planned recording sessions and the photoshoot. Since there would be no promotion period, it all would be done within a month and half from start to finish. You were a bit relieved hearing that and leave Move Entertainment without any confrontation.
You thought you were good at masking your wary feelings since the further meetings went well and the first recording session went okay-ish. Although both of you had been a bit scolded by the producer for not putting enough feelings into your singing. He claimed that the demo sent by Leo was much more emotional which made Seojun scoff and mumble under his nose. The PD called it for a day, making you promise to practice for next time and one by one they all left. Your manager told you that he would bring the car while you refresh yourself in the bathroom, so you really didn’t expect anyone to wait for you when you stepped out of the restroom, much less Han Seojun.
"Spit it out," he bit out barely glancing your way as he leaned against the corridor’s wall.
"What?" you spluttered as you were really taken aback by his out of blue appearance and question. The guy let out a tired sigh at your obliviousness and pushed himself away from the wall just to walk up to you, towering over your height with his.
"You look at me as if I killed your hamster or something. Which rumour about me bothers you? I fucking can't keep walking on eggshells around you, especially when it's just the two of us," he tsked and you gulped at the sudden called out. You didn’t think it bothered him, or that he was considerate enough to ‘walk on eggshells around you’, you merely thought he was so distant from everybody. It was still better than what Chen had told you.
"Oh, I… nothing. It's stupid. Sorry," you mumbled, feeling embarrassed for your your actions but Seojun apparently wasn’t satisfied without a real answer as he carried on:
"I didn't bully kids in high school but I threatened ones that deserved it, I didn't only get a pity chance from the entertainment, one of our makeup artists is actually one of my best friends, I'm not…"
"Chen told me you are rude and arrogant and have no respect for girls," you blurted out to stop him from speaking because you felt like you didn’t deserve to hear all that. He didn’t owe you any explanation for the way he was. You were just co-workers for a project after all, you had no place in his life, nor he had in yours, so he shouldn’t have been that bothered by your opinion but you understood that he felt uncomfortable due to your silent accusations.
Hearing your hasty interruption, the singer scoffed, a laugh-like sound leaving his mouth.
"Well, I have no respect for girls like Chen who harass my friends and turn their lives into hell just to go on a date with me," he said and it made you blink slowly.
"Oh."
"Yeah, oh. Check your facts before you go around believing such crap," Seojun stepped back with a roll of his eyes.
The whole situation made you feel made about how you acted, so you wished to apologise but it fell from your lips all too carelessly: "Sorry, I was just worried. This is my last chance, so–"
"Last chance?" the guy quirked a brow at you, curious but you quickly waved his question away.
"Nevermind, I just need this song to do well."
"Of course, it will. I'm Han Seojun, it will turn to gold under my hands," he grinned and made eccentric gestures as if he was about to do magic. You couldn't help a smile. “Or well, vocal chords.”
And turn it to gold, he did.
The rest of your recording sessions went smoother, even the previously grumpy PD complimented your for the development in your chemistry. Funny, you wouldn’t have thought that the wall pulled up between the two of you mattered that much, but at least you didn’t have a knot in your stomach, nor did you worry about every small thing you did around Han Seojun. He also acted more casual, more playful, joking around when both of you had a bit of time to take a breather. He snapped silly pictures, showed off with his height, smirked when he got too close but despite all his bravado and lowkey flirting, you believed even he wouldn’t have jeopardised his career over something like this.
Maybe that's why wrapping up the recording felt a tad bit weird: you got used to his presence, his jokes, his beautiful, deep voice that you could have fallen asleep to. Sure, sometimes he was cocky, a bit rough around the edges but he was a great singer and a fun guy. The project seemed to work out well and you loved it a lot, so you hoped the listeners would appreciate it as well.
But before all that you had one photo shoot together for the promotional pictures and the single's cover. You were grateful for the simple pastel colour background and elegant setting. The warm light latte colour and the clock in the background really fit the song's vibe. Luckily, your dress was decent and pretty as well, you didn't have to feel uncomfortable in it at least.  However, you didn’t expect that happy yelp coming from one of the makeup artists stepping into the dressing room. You turned to face the girl, wondering whether she was your fan judged by her excitement.
"Oh my! I'm so happy to finally meet you! Seojun told us about you so much!" she beamed at you which obviously took you back. Well, that you didn’t expect at all. He spoke of you to others? Ah. Apparently to the makeup artist who was most probably that certain one of his best friends he had told you about?
"Don't exaggerate, Imju, I mentioned her like what… once?" Seojun walked in on cue. He rolled his eyes and cleared his throat, trying to avert the topic. "How's Suho?"
You had know idea who that said guy was but after a moment or two you could breathe properly once again while listening to their chatting.
“Just the usual. He’s excited about your duet.”
“Of course, he is,” Seojun grinned, a bit snarky but you could hear the proud undertones of it. When he looked at you, you were surprised by him leaning close though as he quieted down until only you could hear it. “Don’t worry, Jugyeong is really good and just stop her if she gets too gossip-y.”
“Are you talking about me behind my back, hah, Han Seojun?” The pretty girl called Jugyeong raised her fist as if she was about to hit the idol but he just laughed it off and left you two alone when he was hurried onto the set to start with his individual shoots.
“Have you known each other for a long time?” you couldn’t help but wonder as you were seated to get your makeup from her.
“Ah, almost 4 years, I think. We went to high school together. Plus, he’s best friends with my boyfriend. Though, they are always bickering like a married couple,” Jugyeong chuckled joyfully as she started with the cushion. You closed your eyes, listening as she kept going on about the time when Seojun had been obsessed with his motorbike, getting into trouble with his mother. It was strange hearing about a whole other side of him, mama's boy but the image tugged on your mouth, making you smile even though you weren't sure you had the right to know all that. You also learned that Seojun's sister was dating Jugyeong's brother and you felt so involved with the girl's trust albeit it was your last meeting, you were sure Seojun must have only told good things about you.
Hence, you felt shy under his knowing gaze when you walked out of the dressing room. He must have known that Jugyeong couldn't shut up for the life of her, so he looked a bit uncertain, too, stretching the back of his neck, forcing a cunning smile onto his smile when you took your place next to him.
To fit the ballad's theme, the setting was a piano decorated with flowers and you were instructed to sit beside him as if you were about to play a four hands piece. As you did what you had been told, you were very much aware of the way your arms brushed, his long fingers over the keys close to yours, his smile small but genuine.
"Great, great, guys! Someone help her onto the piano and Seojun, stand in front of her," the photographer directed the next scene but before any staff members would have rushed up to you, the singer next to you shushed them.
"I can do it," he insisted as he stood up and looked you in the eyes, silently asking for permission. You nodded while holding your breath back before Seojun put his hands on your waist above the fluffy tulle skirt part and counting on three, he lifted you onto the lid of the beautiful instrument.
You crossed your legs, watching in awe as your pink skirt fell down on waves  but your breath hitched for an entirely different reason when you looked up, gaze meeting Seojun's feline eyes trained on you. You had never seen him look at you like that, lacking playfulness or suspicion or curiosity. He looked open, vulnerable, outright starstruck. Your lips parted meaning to ask something but your brain shut off when you heard the shutter of the camera go down and the director yelling compliments at you. It made you snap out of it and later, you blamed the evident blush on your cheeks on the makeup. Seojun blinked too, his guarded expression back in no time, finishing the photo shoot professionally, always lingering close to you, but never touching you. Even though you wouldn’t have minded.
"Hey," Seojun peeked into your dressing room just as you were about to leave, packing up, with a smile on his mouth and sparkles in his deep brown eyes. But unlike half an hour ago when he wore a fancy suit and looked at you like a prince would have looked at his princess, he acted just as casual as he looked in his denim jacket over dark tee. "Wanna grab something with me if you finished for today?"
His question took you back but first thing first you glanced towards your manager, eyes begging for permission which you had gotten with a sigh.
"Just be discreet and call me if you need me to pick you up," your manager shrugged, leaving you two alone with a knowing look that told you to be careful. You didn't need to be told though, you knew how much depended on the current public response to your image.
"Seems like a green light. Have you thought of anything specific?" you turned back to the boy with a subtle smile.
"Not really but I know a few less frequent, secluded places to avoid much talk about us," he said and you nodded, following his lead. Masks, caps and hoodies on, you barely talk on your way to the tent with the lovely ahjumma who welcomed Seojun (two heads taller than her) with a pinch of his cheeks and told you to get seated.
"Are you a regular here?" you inquire, carefully pulling down your mask since not many people are around.
"You could say that," the boy hummed letting you adjust to the place at your own pace, not pressuring you with extra reassessments about how safe it is there. Yet, he is so casual as if he wasn't afraid of a getting mobbed by Dispatch out of the blue. Not that it happened to you a lot of times but you heard stories and at such a crucial time in your career, you feared something like that more than anything.
"Do you want to come up to mine instead?" Seojun blurted out suddenly which made you wide eyed in a span of a moment as you splattered out a surprised yelp. "Come on, I don't mean anything by it. You just look really nervous being in the public," the singer said, his deep voice softening, soothing by the end and you needed to take a breather before answering. You didn't think it was so obvious but apparently you had never been a good liar with him.
In the end, you decided on going over to Seojun's place, so he asked the ahjumma to pack your food to go and you headed towards his flat a few blocks from the company. It was a small but cozy place, much softer and brighter than you expected, lots of pastels and photos of friends and family. While the boy busied himself in the kitchen, getting you plates, chopsticks and beer, you were encouraged to look around and you couldn't help but smile at his photos with not only his band members but high school friends, too. You had seen photos of his graduation with Jugyeong, then another one of his debut with her and another guy.  He was a recurring person on a lot of pictures, so you assumed that he was the so-called Suho.
"He's Jugyeong's boyfriend," Seojun affirmed as he walked up to you which you acknowledged with a hum and smiled at his photos with his sister and mother. The makeup artist was right when she said he was only tough on the outside.
"You knew Seyeon?" you whispered as your gaze shifted of a picture of three boys smiling widely into the camera. The middle one was the talented boy you had known  from the news of his committed suicide. Such a tragedy.
"Uhum. We were best friends. Him, Suho and me," Seojun nodded and without having to ask, he told you how they had gotten to know each other, what were their favourite past time activities and how they fell apart when he died. You could see he was hurting even now as he was talking about it, so you grazed your fingers against his knuckles as though to say you were there for him to listen, or whatever he needed.
Talking about his best friends and how a group of guys including someone named Chorong stuck by his side over the years warmed your heart. It was nice to know that not everyone had it as lonely as you who basically missed out on high school and memories from that time to be able to turn your dreams into reality. Your only friends were also in the industry but it made things both easier and harder.
"What about you? What did you mean by this being your last chance?" Seojun asked like a loaded gun but after everything he had just told you, you knew you could trust him with this and being in the industry for a while now, he must have understood, too.
You told him about the rising expectations, about your image and your company's ultimatum. It actually felt nice to talk about with someone other than your manager. Especially since Seojun seemed to understand exactly why you felt conflicted over the matter. You have given your youth to this dream of yours, so giving up on it would have felt like betraying yourself and everyone who believed in you but you weren't sure you could give it another 10 years of your life no matter how much you liked music. You had decent CSATs result, maybe you could have applied for a university program. Seojun even offered to arrange a meeting between you and Suho who was studying to become a proper songwriter.
You talked for hours and ate the tteokbokki even though it had gotten cold long ago and you couldn't remember when was the last time you had felt so light. You felt giddy even with just the tiny bit of alcohol in your system by the time you knew it was time for you to go.
Once you had felt relieved knowing that promoting your duet would be only one performance but recently, you started dreading the moment because that meant that you wouldn't have any more excuse to see Seojun. In the backstage, this time around you greeted Jugyeong like an old friend and teased to give Seojun a funny makeup before walking up to your  own assigned staff members. Your look was full of sparkles and glow fitting the silver colour of your dress, completing the ethereal vibe off the stage you were going to do and the beautiful song you had grown to love so much you held it close to your heart. The last rehearsals went smoothly and if you noticed Seojun's gaze lingering a bit too long, you didn't comment on it.
"Are you nervous?" he asked before the final recording and you knew it would have been unreasonable to deny it, so you replied with a small smile.
"A bit."
"Don't be. You're pretty and you'll do amazing," he reassured you and the way he said those words oh so easy. As if they were natural. As if he believed in you and maybe this was all the reassurance you needed because when you walked up onto the stage, not taking your eyes off his, it felt like it was just the two of you there. All the stress about not being good enough, about being judged for who you were and what you wanted to do with your life was subsided as you focused on the moment, just to sing this one song with one while trying to fight your heart's crazy beating.
You didn't really have the luxury to have crushes. You had always been concentrated on your work, you couldn't let yourself have distractions, especially since love scandals always affected girl worse than guy. At least that was what you told yourself for always putting up a wall around you and guarding your heart all too well. But during the past few weeks, between playful or flirty remarks, between smiles and ruffling hair, Seojun took apart your wall brick by brick even if he wasn't aware.
So it might have been only a few days since you had last seen him but in that rare moment of boredom, alone in your room, you realized that you missed him. Hell, you liked him and the feeling made me want to scream into your pillow as if you were a silly teenager. As if on cue, your phone buzzed with a new message and seeing the KakaoTalk ID made you shy.

Warnings: fluff
.....
You frowned when you watched Seojun get off the motorcycle, the girls acted dramatically when they looked at him. You rolled your eyes at their actions and walked over to Seojun.
- Your mother asked you to stop driving, it's dangerous Seojun - you crossed your arms, Seojun smiled, you and he always annoying each other you weren't even friends however you always made sure to be present in each other's life.
At first it had been annoying, but over time you had gotten used to having Seojun around even if it was to annoy you.
Seojun leaned on the motorcycle while he moved his hair.
- Are you worried about me y / n? - A beautiful smile was drawn on his face that made you tremble, why did your heart beat when he spoke to you? - You should be less obvious - he advised funny
You frowned at his comment - I don't know what you're talking about -
- You can't help but worry because you like me, my charms caught you - he murmured playfully approaching you, your breath caught, but then you laughed.
- I just worry about your mother, besides, you are not my type - you lied to annoy him, Seojun frowned
- Of course I'm your type - he muttered indignantly, why did you have to be so clueless? Seojun wondered.
- Just stop driving - you asked before disappearing from his sight. Seojun closed his eyes and smiled.
- "Of course I'm her type,"- he murmured before running towards your direction.

----
Dianthus Caryophyllus; commonly known as the carnation or clove pink, a species of Dianthus. Coined by greek botanist Theophrastus, and is derived from the Ancient Greek words for divine and flower. Light red carnations represent admiration, while dark red denote deep love and affection.
Your feet are hardly touching the floor as you float through the packed mall. You make your way around a slow walking group of friends, annoyed by their lack of movement.
Shit shit shit shit--
It was supposed to snow today. That’s what your phone had told you, anyway. There was no way in hell you were missing this.
You curse yourself as you nearly stumble into an elderly couple. A quick bow and apology and you’re on your way.
Please, hold on a little bit longer!
Everyone knew what the implications of the first snowfall held. Especially watching it with a potential significant other. . People had been arranging dates with one another since the first mention of snow this coming winter. Shyly approaching their crush to suggest the action. Blushing at the thought of staying together throughout the season. True love blossoming in their hearts as they did so.
One glance at the pile of people near the elevator and you decide to take the stairs instead.
You yourself were not immune to the giddy thought. Nor the countless boys who’d ask to spend the day with you. Coming up to you during lunch or in between classes and letting a cheesy line slip out of their mouths and into your ears. Regretful grimaces found their way onto both parties’ faces when you turned them down as best you could without hurting their feelings.
You weave your way through the people in the mall’s food court. Nearly sending someone’s tray of food to the floor. This time though, you have no time to bow. Rather, you shout an apology as they glare back at you.
Your friends would complain to you about your efforts to turn potential lovers away. You, however, knew it was all worth it when Gu Seung-joon, the pretty boy with long hair from class 2-3, had asked to spend the day with you. He had walked up to you at the bus station after school, making conversation when he suddenly asked if you had anybody to spend the upcoming weekend with. One you both knew could potentially hold the first snowfall.
“I’m always free!”
The words came out awkwardly loud before you could give them any thought. His lips only quirked up as he told you, ‘perfect’ and pulled out his phone for you to type your number into.
Now, you were pushing at the glass doors of the entrance as you rushed to find him. The day was getting cloudy and your nerves rose as the temperature fell. You felt your phone buzz in your pocket and you scrambled to unlock it.
Unfortunately for you--or maybe not--at this very moment, Seojun had been chasing after Jugyeong, who was running from both him and Suho. All of your attention was held by your phone. Which you had now unlocked and were frantically typing out a response to Seung-joon’s message.
So frantically so, that you don’t notice the sidewalk ahead of you that had buckled where the two large rectangles met. You fail to pick up your foot in time and stumble as it hits the risen sidewalk. A puff of air releases itself from your chest as Seojun’s frame crashes into yours, making your phone hit the concrete hard.
The collision is so harsh, in fact, that it nearly sends both of you to the ground with it. Instinctively, his hands wrap around your body, clutching onto you for balance. Your hands come up clumsily to his chest, shaking as you do the same. They end up on his shirt, absent-mindedly gripping him closer.
You can feel his breath on your skin as he attempts to regain it. You wonder for a second if he can feel how hard your heart is beating. Your eyes meet and you think that maybe you’ve bumped into each other all over again. Bodies pummeling together once more. Your heart leaps up to your throat and skips a beat or two. His eyes flicker between both of yours. You search your brain for words but come up blank. His adam apple bobs.
You had recognized him. Of course you had, you were in the same class after all. Even in his absence, you never failed to spot him at any of Gowoon’s performances. Regardless of what part she sang. Being in the school’s choir granted you the opportunity of encountering him at such performances. He’d stand there, waiting for her to come off the stage. Usually with a bouquet of flowers and a flashy smile. Embracing Gowoon with one arm and holding the flowers with the other. The flowers grew in quantity with every new song his sister sang. So much so that Gowoon took it upon herself to pass out single flowers to those she deemed worthy.
You’ll never forget the day Seojun came up to you, holding a light red carnation in hand, cheeks rosy. Complementing the flower. It was the lightest one he could find. Not quite pink but a softer, more dull red.
“Gowoon wanted you to have this,” he sounded annoyed but the heat in his face said otherwise. You simply nodded as you took the flower from his fingers.
“Give her my thanks, will you?”
When you went home that evening, you couldn’t help your fingers’ gliding as they typed into google “what do carnations mean?” Your curiosity had gotten the best of you. Heat arose in your body when you became aware of the meaning behind them. He had filled all of your thoughts for the rest of that week.
Not to mention that, recently, he had been the talk of the whole school. You couldn’t help it. Rumours had spread about him and Jugyeong; In a love triangle with Suho and the girl, secretly dating, given up his motorcycle for her. You had even heard that he gotten himself into a street fight with a gang leader to keep her safe. You hadn’t paid them much attention until now. Information about him piling into your brain all at once.
Seojun, however, couldn’t say the same about you. He had no clue who you were or why you seemed so familiar. Didn’t stop the butterflies he felt in his stomach, though. They fluttered up into his throat, making it close up. His usual quick-witted self gone. All he could do was stare at you as he furiously attempted to shove the bugs back down so he could breathe once more. All that came to mind was how nicely your jacket collar framed your face.
The two of you observe the other, both thinking the exact same thing. Why had you bumped into each other now? And why was the person holding you close so pretty? Granted, the latter applied mostly to Seojun. You force yourself out of the trance.
Before you can spit out apologetic words, though, something white floats down from the air and lands on his cheek, right below his slender eye. Your eyes follow the substance as it melts and slides down his skin. Your mouth is motionless as another snowflake kisses his nose. Then another in his hair. The opposite cheek. And another on his top lip, where your eyes linger for a little too long.
When the wet matter finally falls on your own skin, you’re hit with the realization that it’s snowing. Your eyes go up, your chin following, and as does his. Once again, air leaves your lips. This causes Seojun’s gaze to fall onto them. When your eyes connect with his again, there is no denying the disappointment in his face. No doubt your expression mirrors his.
The two of you come to an unspoken understanding then that neither of you had planned to be in this situation with one another. It happened, though, and there was no denying the fact.
He blinks when he realizes how long the two of you have been intertwined. Drawing his gaze anywhere but you, his hands unwind themselves from your waist. He clears his throat and sticks his hands in his pockets when he can’t find a comfortable position. You suddenly become aware of your own hands, still grasping his shirt. You drop them quickly and wipe the sweat from them on your pants. Regardless of how cold your hands feel on your thighs.
“I’m sorry,” the sorrow in your voice causes his head to look at you. Genuine remorse fills both of you. You aren’t apologizing for bumping into him.
His relationship with Jugyeong was complicated, you knew that much. It wasn’t hard to tell that he liked her by the way he stared at her when he thought no one else was looking. The way worry filled his chest whenever she seemed upset. The jealousy flaring in his nostrils when she gravitated towards Suho. The giddy that filled his voice when they teased each other. Or even when his pink lips pulled into a smile at the mention of her. Not that you had meant to stare. Honestly, how could you not notice when he was so devastatingly obvious about it?
Okay, fine. Maybe you had a small crush on Seojun. To be fair, though, everyone had a crush on Seojun at some point. He was handsome and charming. People were drawn to him. You figured you should probably get over him at some point, but it was difficult to do so considering how hard it is to avoid him. Even as you began to notice his infatuation for the new girl, your heart fluttered whenever you’d spot him in the audience of a performance. Sometimes, you’d even go the extra mile to look cute just to see if he would say anything. See if he handed you a dark red carnation this time.
He never did, and while your heart ached at the thought, you had gained the attention of other boys. Other boys like Seung-joon. Seung-joon, who had been waiting for you in the cold to watch the snow together. Seung-joon who had actually chosen you over anyone in his class. No, anyone in the entire school. And yet, here you were, feet stuck to the ground awaiting Seojun’s response. One you knew you’d be disappointed by, but still eagerly listened for it.
He glances over your shoulder. His jaw clenches. You can’t help but turn your head in the direction. You see what he’s staring at. A good few feet behind you, stand Im Jugyeong and Ru Hyung Jin, the baseball player, holding hands as they watch snow hit the cold ground.
When you look back at him, he sighs loudly and looks to the floor.
“Don’t be,” an eyebrow goes up and you take note of the disheartened tone in his voice. It’s harmonious. As if he’s singing a song. Air gliding through his vocal cords to create the sound that reaches your ears.
His eyes look you up and down as he takes you in. You’ve now put a good distance between you two. Letting the snow fill the space.
“Are you okay?”
Are you okay?
Your head shakes ‘no’ and he almost looks worried for a second.
“I’m not hurt,” your words are careful. His eyes narrow in curiosity.
Before he can say anything else, though, your phone buzzes from on the sidewalk. Which was now turning dark gray as more snow dampened it. Your phone lays dead center between the two of you, your case stares back at you. Like it’s waiting to see who will make the first move. You feel as if your phone mocks you, like it had planned this. Planned to ring right as Seojun was racing in your direction. The cause for the crash. Have your mind revert back to when your silly crush was all you could think of. Right when you had seemingly gotten over it.
Fear rushes your body as you think of the damage caused to the screen. Both you and Seojun crouch down at the same time to grab it. Hands brushing as you reach it, fingers ghosting over one anothers. You look up at him and he does the same. His eyes are piercing and intimidating. Right then they widen, and his eyebrows quickly flash up as he takes you in. Almost as if he recognizes you. Light catches on his earrings and the sound of them dangling snaps you out of your thoughts.
You take the phone from his hand and get up as fast as you can. You bow as soon as you’re standing straight, settling for silence rather than risking something stupid coming out of your mouth.
He stands and watches as you walk off. His eyes don’t move even when you glance back at him over your shoulder. Your buzzing phone rings through the air and you regretfully pick up a call from Seung-joon. He asks you where you are and you finally turn away from Seojun. Whose teeth are gritted, hissing through them when he sees you run off.

Chapter 13.

Chapter 14:
This was not how you imagined your first date with Seo Jun going. Not that you’d thought about it in-depth, from the beginning. That’s a lie, from the moment you accepted and then proceeded to tell Hyun Ji and Si Woo. Your sister and Young Joon Oppa, you were imagining how this date would go.
Being in a crowded BBQ restaurant with the rest of your class including Cho Rong and Si Woo was not what you had in mind. The date was going very well, to begin with. Seo Jun picked you up from your house with flowers, that was so sweet, no guy had given you flowers before, and you definitely appreciated the gesture.
Especially the courage that had given you to kiss Seo Jun on the cheek again. It was impossible not to, Han Seo Jun was adorable, shyly giving you the flowers that you handed off to Mi Soo Unnie before kissing his cheek in thanks. Grabbing his hand and getting out of the house. Before Young Joon Oppa could realise what was going on and come to interrogate Seo Jun like he had done to Jae Yi, you were out of the house.
The date was fairly simple. You guys went to the arcade, to begin with, and it was quite obvious that you had a few people following the two of you. Cho Rong and Ju Kyung did a very bad job of hiding whenever either you or Seo Jun turned to look at them. Si Woo and Hyun Ji were better at hiding.
It took Seo Jun some time to even realise that they were also following you. You had already shouted at them in your group chat when you realised and tried to make sure Seo Jun didn’t see them. That didn’t work but by this point, you were just having so much fun, you didn’t care.
So, it was a surprise that as you six were walking around that you found the rest of your class at a BBQ restaurant and joined in. Well, you tried to avoid it, so did Seo Jun but Soo Ah was insisting, and you felt bad. That is when your date, turned into a class dinner. You wanted to get out but didn’t know how to leave without making your classmates feel like you didn’t want to spend time with them.
Making eye contact with Seo Jun, you pleaded with him, your eyes trying to send the message of helping you get out of here. Thankfully Seo Jun got the message and picked up your hand, helped you into your jacket and gave you your bag. Holding your hand, he looked at his classmates. Seo Jun smirked.
“I do not care for you guys anymore and so I’m taking my date and getting out of here, see ya idiots in school” with that, Seo Jun took you out of the restaurant. You looked at him in shock, but he just laughed at your expression before pecking your nose. He honestly didn’t know anyone cuter than you.
You laughed, at least you had gotten out of there. Looking at your joined hands you smiled. You just started walking. No place really in mind, just enjoying the atmosphere with each other.
“I had fun on this date you know.” You shyly told Seo Jun. You avoided eye contact but that didn’t stop Seo Jun from stopping, turning you to look at him and lifting your chin up so you were looking at him.
“I had fun too, wouldn’t mind a second date, or the privilege to call you my girlfriend Princess,” Seo Jun told you smoothly. That had you looking at him in shock. He did not just say what you thought he did.
This was only your first date and he already wanted to call you his girlfriend, was this going too fast. You didn’t know, it had taken half a dozen dates with Jae Yi before he asked you to be his girlfriend, this was unknown territory for you. You stayed silent but were honestly contemplating this. You knew you liked Seo Jun a lot and would’ve asked him out eventually. Or if Hae Sung was still in your life, then nothing would’ve happened. But you were happy here, any time spent with Seo Jun made you happy. He wasn’t the cause of your happiness, but he did things to make you happy, he didn’t make you cry.
Hae Sung really had done a number on you, if just making you happy, the bare minimum made you happy. But the past was something you were still processing especially with the truth that had come out. Which you had told Seo Jun about earlier.
That had been quite the reaction, Seo Jun pleading with you that he should e able to beat up Hae Sung for the manipulation and deception he had done to you. You stopped him but appreciated the reaction.
“Just because I am agreeing to be your girlfriend doesn’t mean that you can get out of our tutoring sessions Han Seo Jun” You teased Seo Jun. Your feelings for Seo Jun weren’t stopping any time soon and you liked the idea of being his girlfriend. You never would’ve thought that agreeing to be Han Seo Jun’s tutor would lead to you becoming his girlfriend months later.
Seo Jun just laughed, he looked at you. His eyes sparkling with joy, Your eyes the same, he looked at you with such softness. You almost couldn’t believe that it was you he was looking at like that. You just smiled before both f you carried on walking towards your house now.
Once reaching your house, you said goodbye and started to walk away from Seo Jun. But something stopped you. Turning to see, Seo Jun was holding on to your hand. You looked at him in confusion. He pulled you closer to him.
“Can I kiss you please my beautiful girlfriend” Without even giving an answer, you got on your tiptoes and pecked Seo Jun’s lips. His face after that had you wheezing on the spot, once he had gotten over that shock, Seo Jun smirked at you. Pulling you closer to him, he then cupped your face and kissed you the way he had wanted to.
You put your arms around his neck and lost yourself in the feeling of kissing Seo Jun. It was everything you had thought it would be. Yet it didn’t feel like the end of anything, it was just the start. The start of your relationship, the first kiss of many.
Both of you lost track of time, not caring that you were outside your house. That is until you heard a loud bang, a door being slammed shut. Seo Jun and you reluctantly pulled away, your arms still around his neck, turning to see that it had been the house next door to your door that had been slammed shut. Lee Hae Sung’s front door had been the door slammed that broke your first kiss. Not that you cared but it did remind you that you still needed to talk to Hae Sung about everything. Sighing, you said goodbye to Seo Jun and went to your door.
Once in the privacy of your room, after you had gushed about your date and boyfriend to Mi Soo Unnie. You took out your phone and unblocked one number, sent a text to Hae Sung, waited for a reply. After seeing the reply, you blocked his number again. Finally, the time to get answers straight from the source was coming and this time you would not be backing down and you most certainly weren’t meeting Hae Sung alone.

one kiss is all it takes
Tumblr media
content tags: han seo-jun x reader, female reader, characters are aged up to mid 20s, drinking, lightweight best friend that plays matchmaker, tipsy reader, flirting, kissing at midnight, all lowercase intended
author’s note: sorry it’s very late & all over the place heh btw f/n = friend name
———
the new year’s eve party was in full swing by the time you’re ushered past the threshold and into the overcrowded venue; you note how everyone was dressed up to the nines for the occasion, with the men in tuxedos and the women in a variety of gowns and cocktail dresses.
in a bout of anxiousness, you adjust the material of your plunging neckline in an effort to cover your dignity— i should’ve gone with the safe option— but f/n turns to you with a knowing look etched on her face, “relax, tonight’s all about having fun.”
the expression that forms on your face is enough to make her bark out a laugh, “you need a drink.” she didn’t even need to attempt a trip to the booming bar with a waiter walking past with a tray full of flutes of, what you figured to be, champagne— your favourite.
f/n takes two easily, smiling a sweet smile at the not-so-bad-looking waiter before turning back to you, handing you a flute.
“to a good night and an even better 2024!” you toast, clinking glasses and then swallowing back a significant amount of the bubbly alcohol before giving a sound of pleasant surprise and bringing the glass down from your lips.
“remind me again, how did you get us on the guest list?” you couldn’t help feeling like you were out of place, but the sweet taste of alcohol on your tongue soothes your discomfort.
f/n shrugs halfheartedly, “oh y’know, a favor from a friend that owes me.”
you hum in acknowledgment as you scan the sea of people only for your gaze to settle on a man that steals the attention of the room. your eyes couldn’t help the way they followed the man in complete awe as he moved around the room. the low lighting catches the pretty glittering of the embellished pinstripes that ran down the length of his black tuxedo, it makes you think— how can someone be so good looking?
your attention is pulled away from the alluring man to find f/n grinning, in the i know exactly what you were just doing kind of way. “i did say tonight’s all about having fun,” she laughs loudly when you smack her arm, “shut up!” although that doesn’t seem to stop her teasing.
“maybe he can be your new year’s kiss?” she wiggles her eyebrows, swiftly evading your expected smack and swapping your two empty glasses for two full flutes of champagne.
at the mention of the impeding new year, you check the time on the live countdown broadcast situated on the wall beside the bar— 11:13 p.m., forty seven minutes and twelve seconds remaining of 2023. playfully rolling your eyes, you turn away from the man in question, dismissing her taunts with a simple, “as if.”
the dance music gets louder the further you move into the venue, you sip on your new flute of bubbly as you eye the decor that littered the room. the decorations were in traditional nye colours, black and gold; matching the over-the-top dress code.
you’re interrupted by a loud, “i love this song! let’s dance.” f/n skulls the rest of her champagne before you get the chance to remind her she’s a lightweight, “please, y/n!” she adopts her adaptation of puppy dog eyes, pouting when you respond with a quick, and embarrassed, “no way!”
“come on, get in the spirit! dance with me.” f/n doesn’t wait for your answer this time, clumsily grabbing ahold of your hand and pulling you in the direction of the dance floor. you easily down the remaining alcohol and send an apologetic smile to the waiter who you hand the empty glass to.
“i’m definitely not drunk enough for this.” you cringe when you’re finally in the middle of the dance floor, surrounded by other, drunk, party goers. although, that doesn’t seem to prevent f/n from dancing to a familiar beat.
you start to dance along with the song, deciding to let loose a little, it’s new year’s eve! somehow in the midst of the chaos, you find yourself enjoying the moment. f/n has a wild grin on her face— one that you can credit the alcohol for— as she dances in a way you can only laugh at, it’s how she normally dances and it’s silly, but you love it.
after a dance battle and encore, you’re short of breath and in need of a drink. in her warped vision, f/n looks back to find you gladly grabbing your third glass of bubbly from another passing waitress, settling at one of the nearby cocktail bar tables. the air was full of the stench of alcohol and hum of 2023’s greatest hit songs, it was practically impossible to ignore, though the sweetness of champagne allows you a moment of bliss as it coats your throat.
you struggle to restrain the corner of your lips from quirking up when f/n staggers over to the table, she clutches the edge to keep her balance.
“oh, look!” a hiccup interrupts her, but she shamelessly points to something behind you. “it’s that guy you were totally checking out earlier.” as if on cue, the champagne you were just sipping on suddenly goes down the wrong pipe, causing you to sputter into a napkin.
you look at her incredulously but she seems to ignore the expression. “why don’t you go over there and introduce yourself?” it doesn’t sound too bad, in theory, until she adds, “it’s almost midnight and you need a new year’s kiss, stat!”
f/n ungracefully stumbles into your side, clutching onto your arm, “i don’t think so.” you attempt to pry your arm out of her grasp but she only clings onto you tighter as she moves towards the stranger.
nerves start to bubble in your chest as you get closer and closer and closer. “oh! i need to go to the bathroo—,” you try your luck with a lame excuse, and for a split second relief floods your system as f/n comes to a stop in her pursuit, but it just as quickly disappears as she shoves you forward, “go get ‘em, tiger!”
“shit, i’m so sorry!” your apology rolls of your tongue— this can’t be happening— when you’re knocked right into him, spilling his drink all over his hand. “my friend is annoyingly… enthusiastic.”
“thank her for me.” his lips stretch into a boyish smile, a tinge of amusement playing on his features as he takes in your frazzled state.
“let me help you clean this up,” you go to find a nearby waiter when he reassures you he can do it himself, setting down the now empty glass and taking out a napkin with one hand and wiping away the stray liquid from the other.
“there. now, as i was sayin’…” he grins a cute smile, you could almost mistake it as being… flirty. “i’ve been wantin’ to talk to you all night.”
you flush at his frankness, “is that so?” you feel hot under his gaze, concluding the champagne that you had been drinking all evening had finally hit you. you giggle to yourself, “well, lucky me then.”
“can i get your name, pretty?” his cheeks seem to mirror yours— pink and warm.
the buzz makes you bolder than usual, allowing you to bite your lip when you smoothly respond with, “only if i get yours, handsome.”
at that, he laughs and it makes your heart jump in your chest. there’s a little smile playing at your lips, when he finally folds, impressed with your flirting.
“seo-jun.” he extends a hand, “it’s nice to meet you.”
“well, hi seo-jun,” you test his name on your tongue, “i’m y/n.” you take his much larger hand in, what you thought was a handshake, but he surprises you with a quick kiss to the top of your knuckles.
the action pulls a shy laugh from you, “that was pretty smooth.”
seo-jun is just as sheepish when he pulls away, “well, y/n, i’ve got a lot more from where that came from.” despite his bashfulness, that doesn’t stop him from closing his left eye to form a wink.
he’s closer now, so close you can smell his cologne and notice the pretty way his eyes crinkle when he smiles and your heart thumps against your rib cage because of it.
f/n and what she said earlier comes to the forefront of your mind, and it seems more like a possibility now but it doesn’t stop the flush from spreading across your cheeks; she was right. ignoring the way your breath catches in your throat when seo-jun watches you, you force the words out of you before you can chicken out. “i don’t normally do this but, uh, did you wanna be my new year’s kiss?”
it’s almost embarrassing how quickly you feel the bud of hope in your chest blooming, and seo-jun doesn’t let you down. “i can’t think of a better way to start the new year off.”
the chanting of the guests is what pulls you back to reality and you don’t believe what’s in motion, it’s too good to be true. you try to look to the crowd to confirm for yourself what’s really happening but seo-jun catches you, his hand cupping your jaw as he guides your gaze back to him. “focus on me, pretty.”
he makes the way he draws you closer to his chest seem so natural and it’s dizzying how handsome he is upon closer inspection. all you can do is dumbly nod as your eyes look up into his, drinking in his appearance. the curves of his lips look so soft and supple at this angle, too tempting not to want to kiss.
four! three!
he bends his neck to minimise the distance between you, now millimetres only separating you. at this reach your lips brush against his a few times, his breath fanning across your face as you patiently wait; waiting for the countdown to, at long last, reach its completion.
two!
you don't take notice of the final cheer as seo-jun finally slots his lips against yours. your hands instinctively move to hold the nape of his neck as your lips become familiar with his. you melt into his warmth, his lips buttery soft and sweet. the way he presses himself further into you, it’s sweet and gentle, it makes your stomach twist into a knot.
when you pull away, starstruck and breathless, seo-jun cheekily grins. “we should definitely do this again.” you can’t help but agree with him; the suggestion doesn’t sound so bad after all.

Chapter One: Jipuragi Law Firm
Tumblr media
The moment Han-seo walked into the Jipuragi Law Firm office he could feel the tension and wariness radiating off of Vincenzo, Mr. Nam, and Ms. Hong. When he dared to look in your direction he was thrown off by your relaxed expression and the way your eyes shone with genuine curiosity. This made his demeanor immediately change from nervousness to standing on guard. He mentally shook himself before speaking. "Well, your office seems lame and awkward. It's nice." He said glancing around the room. This was a welcome change of scenery compared to the offices he'd grown accustomed to. "Why are you here?" Vincenzo stepped away from Mr. Nam and Ms. Hong. His question pulled Han-seo from his thoughts.
"What Mr. Cassano means is, how can we help you?" Vincenzo turned a questioning glance towards you. Your question took Han-seo by surprise. He was so used to being treated indifferently or as if his mere existence was an annoyance or inconvenience to those around him. He had also grown used to everyone treating him like an idiot. The way you spoke to him sounded as if you genuinely wanted to help him. "Oh, right." Han-seo stepped forward and placed a gift bag on the table. "It's nothing much. Just the most expensive and luxurious coffee made from civit's poop." He stated proudly. "What a load of crap." Mr. Nam spoke as he grabbed the gift bag and walked towards the coffee area. "Who is that guy?" Han-seo directed his question at Vincenzo. "That's Mr. Nam, he's one of our paralegals. I'm the other paralegal." You responded, instead of Vincenzo. Han-seo nodded and smiled before taking a seat at the table. Mr. Nam came back to the table with a cup for everyone.
"Why didn't you use the coffee I brought?" Han-seo asked as he inspected his cup. "We don't have a coffee maker." Mr. Nam stated before taking a seat at his desk. "Gosh. Your working conditions here are awful. Why is this so bitter?" Han-seo spoke. You chanced a glance at Mr. Nam and saw him roll his eyes, making you smile. There was never a dull moment in the office. "I never exploit betrayals within family." Vincenzo's voice pulled your attention back to him and Han-seo. “I heard that you asked Mr. Cassano to get rid of your own brother.” Cha-young said. “It would have all worked if he did what I asked. Things have gotten worse because you declined.” Han-seo stated, turning his attention to Vincenzo.
“Didn’t I tell you. I never exploit betrayals within family.” Vincenzo said. “I forgot to tell you this because I was flustered. I’m not trying to betray my own brother. What I want…” Han-seo started “how should I put it? I don’t want people to die anymore.” “Hm” Vincenzo said. “I’m trying to run Babel legally.” Han-seo finished speaking. “I guess you’ve been studying a lot. Your vocabulary has gotten better.” Cha-young stated. Han-seo smirked and nodded. You stayed silent, listening carefully to everyone. “Let me get this straight. You want to run the company properly, after getting rid of your brother?” Vincenzo asked him.
“That’s it.” Han-seo stated as he leaned forward and pointed at Vincenzo. Vincenzo hummed and nodded in understanding. You gave Vincenzo a puzzled look. One that he seemed to have missed or completely ignored. “I really love Babel. I want to run the company the right way.” Han-seo started as he let his hand fall to the table. “I really don’t want people to get killed. I meant that.” You could tell he was being sincere, but it seemed like the others needed to be convinced. “Why don’t you fix it then? Why are you asking us for help?” Cha-young asked him. “That’s because… no matter how much I think about it, you are the only people who can beat him.” Han-seo said as he leaned back in his chair. “I mean, he’s not wrong.” You spoke quietly. Han-seo gave you a puzzled look, but said nothing about the comment you had made.
“I like your intention. But do you deserve the seat?” He turned his attention back to Vincenzo when he spoke. “I’ve been studying how to run a company. I’m reading a lot of books. Humanities and economy. I read everything. I want to read all the time.” Han-seo stated proudly. “Hmm.” Vincenzo quickly glanced at Cha-young and then you before stating “then here’s a quiz.” “A quiz, all of a sudden? Fine. Go ahead. Give me a question.” Han-seo prepared himself. You sat up straighter as things got a little more interesting. “In the Wealth of Nations, Adam Smith says this hand brings order to a market economy? What is it?” Vincenzo asks him. “Polite hand.” Han-seo states confidently. “Ding! Wrong. The invisible hand.” Cha-young corrects him. “As the economy grows, government expenditures in gross national product also increase. Name this law.” Vincenzo stated. You looked from Vincenzo to Han-seo. “Law of the jungle.” His answer made you want to giggle. Instead you tried hard to compose yourself and stay quiet. “Ding! Wrong. Wagner’s law.” Cha-young corrected him, seeming a bit annoyed that he got the answer wrong, yet again. At this point you began to feel sorry for Han-seo. “This is the easiest one.” Vincenzo started. Is it though? You thought silently to yourself. “To improve the company’s competitiveness, you learn something from another company. What is this term that originated from an iron rod? Here’s a hint. Bench…” Vincenzo didn’t get to finish speaking before Han-seo was interrupting. “Bench. Bench. Bench. Bench press. Bench press!!” He said with so much confidence, you found that to be adorable. “Ding! Wrong. Benchmarking.” Cha-young stated.
“Get out.” Vincenzo said as he stood from his chair. “Wait. Hold on. Didn’t I get a single one right?” Han-seo asked as he stood from his seat. You shook your head no when he looked in your direction. Cha-young stood up beside Vincenzo. Vincenzo laughed and then looked to the ground. “How could you get everything wrong?” Cha-young asked him. “The polite hand was correct. No?” Han-seo asked. “If you want our help, go study more. If you want to join us, you must be smart.” Vincenzo stated. “Is this a symposium or what? Why?” Han-seo asked. “Feel free to say no.” Cha-young said. “Get out.” Vincenzo gave a shooing motion towards the exit. Mr. Nam moved from his desk to stand near the door. You stood from your seat giving everyone a puzzled look. Han-seo gave another look in your direction before turning to walk away. “Wait. If I pass your quiz the next time I’m here. You’ll really help me then, right?” Han-seo turned back to face Vincenzo and Cha-young. “Get out.” Vincenzo stated firmly.
“Seriously. You’re so petty. Fine. I’ll leave.” Han-seo stated as he headed towards the door. This time you lightly laughed at his statement. Again Han-seo decided to turn back to them. “What will you quiz me on?” He asked. “Out. Mr. Nam.” Vincenzo commanded, gesturing to Mr. Nam to show Han-seo out. Han-seo finally walked towards the door. Before leaving he asked Mr. Nam “did you know about the polite hand?” “Here are my polite hands.” Mr. Nam said as he opened the law firm’s doors. Han-seo gave him a look before walking through them. Mr. Nam closed the doors once Han-seo stepped a distance away from the doors. “Don’t you think you guys were a bit hard on him?” You asked. Mr. Nam and Cha-young gave you a puzzled look. Vincenzo only shrugged. “Are you really going to help Jang Han-seo?” Cha-young asked as she leaned on the table. Directing her question and attention at Vincenzo. He turned his attention to her and only hummed a response. You weren’t quite sure what that meant, but a part of you hoped that it meant yes. You personally thought Han-seo deserved the help.
Chapter Two: Can We Be Friends?
Tumblr media
A week had gone by since Han-seo visited the firm. Mr. Nam, Vincenzo, and Cha-young kept themselves busy trying to sort through all the files that were saved to Guillotine. You helped here and there, even if your mind happened to be elsewhere. You slowly made your way to your favorite cafe, thoughts racing about Han-seo’s well being. You had overheard Mr. Nam explaining to Vincenzo that Jun-woo abused and tortured Han-seo through the years. It broke your heart to hear about that bit of information.
You were so lost in thought that you hadn’t been paying attention to your surroundings. Next thing you knew, you ran into someone, lost your footing, and fell to the ground. “I’m so sorry. I should have been paying attention to where I was going.” You said as you began to stand, brushing yourself off. You hadn’t looked up quite yet, to see who it was you bumped into. “Uh, it’s fine.” You froze when you recognized the voice. Finally looking up, you were greeted by a familiar face. “What are the chances of bumping into you here.” You joked, as you gave Han-seo a once over glance. You furrowed your brows when you noticed Han-seo surveying the area. “Is everything all right?” You asked him quietly. “Only making sure no one followed me. I had to sneak away. I felt suffocated and needed air.” He spoke quietly to you. You nodded in understanding. “Being the Babel Chairman means all eyes are always on you.” You said. He nodded in agreement to your statement. “That explains your relaxed attire. I wouldn’t have recognized you if you hadn’t spoken.” You admitted. He furrowed his brows and looked down at his outfit. “You’re used to seeing me in a suit, just like everyone else. I get it.” He said, with a gentle smile. You were a little shocked by how easy it was to talk to him. You remembered how he had looked at you with weariness a week ago. You began to wonder what changed his behavior.
“Hey, I’m headed out to have lunch, would you like to join me?” You asked. He looked around again. “Is the place you go to well known? Big crowd?” You could hear the nervousness in his tone. “Honestly, no. It’s a family owned cafe. I only know about it because the owners’ are family friends to me. You’ll only know about the place if you’re looking or if a regular customer happens to mention it to you.” You admitted to him. He was silent for a moment as he mulled over his options. “As long as you’re offering an invitation, I’ll accept.” Han-seo said, breaking the silence that fell around the two of you. “Great, follow me.” Without thinking you gently grabbed his wrist and began to lead the way. You stopped when you felt him flinch and tug his wrist from your grasp. “Oh, I’m sorry. I got excited and didn’t think before acting.” You said as you turned your attention to him. Shoving both hands into your pockets and opting to walk beside him. “I’m sorry, it was sudden.” Han-seo spoke softly. Letting his hand fall to his side. You were confused on why he would apologize, because you felt that he didn’t need to apologize.
He felt guilty for the interaction, but he didn’t want to explain his reaction. At least not right now. He was glad that you still wanted to be close to him. He wouldn’t admit it right now, but you’ve been on his mind since he left the law firm last week. A part of him wanted to get to know you. “We’re here.” You announced when you got to the cafe door. Pulling him out of his thoughts. You turned to him and smiled.
“Ready?” You questioned him. He nodded his head in agreement as you opened the door. The atmosphere of the cafe was calm and relaxing. He scanned the cafe from one side to the next. There wasn’t a single familiar face present. A sight he openly welcomed. He watched you as you waved to a woman at the counter. You turned your attention to him. “My favorite booth is open. Best part is you can easily see both exits and it’s away from the windows.” You pointed out to him. He nodded as he followed you. A few minutes after sitting down, the woman from behind the counter walked over to the table. “Hey there, Y/N. I see you brought a friend today.” She gave Han-seo a welcoming smile. “Han-seo, this is Mrs. Ha-joon. Mrs. Ha-joon this is Han-seo, he’s my new friend.” You told her proudly. You missed the way his breath hitched. His mind began racing, thinking suddenly this wasn’t a good idea. Any time he made a friend Jun-woo made sure to drive them away. He also couldn’t remember the last time someone had wanted to be his friend without having an ulterior motive or horrible intentions.
“Here are the menus.” Mrs. Ha-joon’s voice dragged Han-seo back into reality. “Thank you. We’ll need a few moments.” You told her. “I’ll be back.” She said before walking off. “Are you all right?” You softly asked Han-seo. “Uh, yeah. What would you recommend?” He replied, looking down to the menu instead of into your eyes. You didn’t want to push him so you decided to look over the menu as well. “Honestly, everything is great here.” You admitted. “I think I’ll go with today’s special. It sounds great and I love spicy food.” Han-seo said. “Sounds good. I’m going to order my usual.” You told him. Silence fell around the two of you. The only thing that could be heard was the soft music playing over the speakers in the cafe. Han-seo chanced a glance at you.
You were still reading over the menu, even though you knew exactly what you wanted. His heart felt heavy. The one thing he had wanted for a long time was friend who wouldn’t judge him. One who wouldn’t think he’s similar to Jun-woo. He wanted someone to talk to that hadn’t been bought by the Jang family. However, he wasn’t sure that could be you. A part of him wanted so badly to be friends, the other part wanted to fiercely protect you from the dangers of being his friend. “Han-seo, are you sure you’re all right? I can feel you staring at me.” You raised your head up to look at him. “Honestly, a bit scared.” Han-seo looked down to the table as he spoke. He took the chance and decided that he wanted to be honest with you. Before you could say anything Mrs. Ha-joon appeared. “Ready to order?” She asked. “Uh, I’ll have the usual and he would like today’s special.” You told her as you handed your menu to her. You gently took Han-seo’s menu and handed it to her. “Would you like the drink that comes with the special?” Mrs. Ha-joon asked Han-seo. “Yes, please.” Han-seo replied. She smiled at the two of you before walking away to place your orders.
You waited a few moments for her to return with the drinks. After you were sure she wasn’t going to return for awhile, you turned your attention back to Han-seo.“Why are you scared?” You asked him softly. “Because, it’s hard to make friends when you have a brother like mine. People I care for always end up getting hurt. Also, most people who want to be my friend have bad intentions or an ulterior motive.” You could hear the pain in his tone. “I understand. I’m also an adult making the decision that I would like to be your friend. I’m fully aware of what your brother is capable of doing. What his minions are capable of doing. No bad intentions and no ulterior motive.” You stated. Han-seo looked up to meet your eyes. He could tell you were being sincere in your words.
“Do you think they’ll help?” He suddenly asked. You knew exactly who he was talking about. “I’m hoping they will. Your brother is a monster and he does need to be stopped.” You said. “Well, either way, I’ll find a way to solve my problem.” He said. He didn’t feel very confident about it but he decided to say it anyhow.“I believe Vincenzo will help, he just needs a bit more convincing.” You told Han-seo before taking a sip of your drink. The smile on your face and the confidence in your voice threw him off a bit, but he silently welcomed it. A comfortable silence began to fall as the two of you waited for your meals. Han-seo noticed that he was beginning to relax in the slightest bit. He still had his fears and doubts racing through his mind. But he had decided that, just for a fraction of the time, he’d welcome the peace that you somehow brought to him within this cafe. The bell ringing on the door made him jump and look to the exit. It wasn’t anyone he knew or anyone who knew him. Just another customer that Mrs. Ha-joon happily welcomed. “If you’re worried about your brother or his goons showing up, I understand. But, I wanted to tell you his type wouldn’t come here because it’s not fancy enough.” You tried to ease his mind.
Before he could speak a man had come to your table with your meals. “The usual for you.” He said as he put your meal in front of you. “Today’s special for you. Please, enjoy.” The man said as he placed Han-seo’s meal in front of him. He gave the two of you a smile before walking away. “That was Mr. Ha-joon, he’s the chef and Mrs. Ha-joon’s husband. He's also a man of few words, if you get what I mean.” You told him before taking a bite of your food. “I get it. And thank you, for trying to ease my worries.” Han-seo spoke softly. You simply smiled at him. “We’re friends now.” You told him. Instead of saying anything he nodded his head in agreement. In this moment he decided that he would take the risk and become your friend. The two of you ate in a comfortable silence and enjoyed the meal.
✨️✨️✨️
“Thank you, again. For the meal and conversation.” Han-seo said as he began to tidy his side of the table. “No problem. Do you have anywhere you need to be right now?” You asked him. “I should head back to Babel before Jun-woo or the bodyguards grow suspicious.” Han-seo said. As if on cue, his phone began to ring. Your heart clenched at the way his features twisted into a look of fear when he glanced at the caller ID. “I’m sorry, I have to go.” Han-seo said as he stood. Answering his phone a few moments later. You could hear him apologizing and saying he went for a walk, he’s on his way back now. That was all you heard as he walked away and out of the cafe.
“Is everything all right?” Mrs. Ha-joon asked when she walked over to your table. “Yeah, I’ll take the check now.” You replied. She nodded her head before walking back to the counter. A few moments later she returned with the check. Once you paid, you headed back to Jipuragi law firm. Your thoughts filled with Han-seo and hoping that no harm would come to him. Becoming his friend may prove to be difficult, but you felt, it would be worth it.
Chapter Three: Patching Him Up
Tumblr media
“Don’t dodge this.” Jun-woo commanded as he readied himself to throw what was in his hand at Han-seo. Han-seo nodded his head “I won’t.” Those were the last words spoken before the object connected with his forehead, creating a small cut above his right eyebrow. Jun-woo gave him a disapproving stare and sighed heavily once Han-seo gained his composure after the object fell to the ground.
Clenching his fists and sighing he said “I’m sorry. I didn’t expect the firefighters to be dispatched.” “Can’t even blow up one building?” Jun-woo leaned on the back of his desk chair as he spoke. “Why? I don’t get it?” He continued on. “It was just about to explode, but the authorities …” Han-seo’s words trailed off. “Right, the authorities.” Jun-woo said as he turned away from him. Clearly unamused and pissed at the current situation. “I’ll think of another reckless way to take care of it.” Han-seo said. “Are you saying I was reckless.” Jun-woo directed his attention back to him. “Yes..” Han-seo started before correcting himself. “I mean, no.”
Relief rushed through him as a knock resonated through the office. “Who is it?” Jun-woo asked. “I have something urgent to report.” Choi Myung-hee announced as she walked into the room. “Hey. Get out.” Jun-woo directed his words at Han-seo. “Yes, sir.” He said before bowing, he grabbed his coat and made his way out of the office.
✨️✨️✨️
Instead of heading to the hospital like any normal person would, Han-seo made his way towards your home. Going to you after facing his brother had become a habit for him, once the two of you became closer. He felt more comfortable getting patched up by you than anyone else. He didn’t even trust the private doctor that had been hired for the Jang family. Like all of the other times, he drove by himself, leaving his driver and body guards at his brother's law office. His head guard told him that he shouldn’t go anywhere alone, but he refused to listen to him. The drive to your house was silent as he thought about what his next move would be. He had high hopes that his next visit to Jipuragi Law Firm would change Vincenzo’s mind.
✨️✨️✨️
The knock at your door made you jump slightly before pausing the movie you were watching. “One moment.” You yelled as you made your way towards your door. Your jaw dropped when you opened it to see blood streaming down Han-seo’s face. “I swear if Vincezo doesn’t help you, I’m going to take Jun-woo down myself.” You moved aside to allow him into your home. “I’d rather you stay far away from him.” Han-seok said. “I hear what you’re saying, but if he keeps this up..” The pleading look Han-seo was giving you made your words trail off. “Take a seat at the breakfast counter, I’ll go grab the first aid kit.” You said before walking off. Han-seo nodded and did as he was told. A few moments later you reappeared and set everything on the counter.
Han-seo sat in the chair silently, watching you carefully. You were currently setting out all of the items you would need to clean and patch his wound. “I’m sorry.” He whispered. You paused and turned your attention to his eyes. “Why? You didn’t do anything wrong.” You spoke softly to him. “I got blood on your carpet.” You followed his gaze and saw a few droplets of blood staining your carpet. "Carpets can be cleaned.” You turned your attention back to the task at hand. You soaked a washcloth with warm water and soap. “Hold still.” You gently commanded as you used one hand to tilt his face upward and the other to clean off the blood. “It may sting a little.” You told him when you got closer to his wound. Han-seo flinched as the washcloth made contact with his wound. “I’m sorry.” You told him gently. You directed your eyes from his wound to make eye contact with him. You were completely unaware of how Han-seo’s posture stiffened when your eyes met. “It’s, uh. Fine. Only stung a bit, like you said.” He said nervously. You gently nodded and turned your attention back to his wound. You still held his chin in your hand as you continued to gently clean his face. Suddenly you let go and moved to rinse the washcloth. When you repeated your actions to get Han-seo to stay still, this time he didn’t flinch when washcloth touched his wound. You smiled at him as you gently let his chin go and set the cloth down.
“Next, are the adhesive strips. When this heals you might have a tiny scar.” You said as you turned back to the counter to grab the strips. Han-seo didn’t say anything, instead he sat silently waiting for your next move. Again you gently raised his face upwards, this time you didn’t leave your hand on his chin. You missed the look of disappointment that flashed in his eyes as you focused on placing the strips on his wound. Making sure they were sticky enough and spaced properly.
“One day, your brother will get what he rightfully deserves.” You stated before stepping away from Han-seo. You nodded your head in satisfaction as you did a once over glance of his wound. “All finished. You’re lucky that I have training in first aid.” You said softly. “Thank you.” Han-seo told you. “Han-seo, why do you always come to me after facing him? I honestly don’t mind, I’m just curious is all.” You asked as he began to help you clean up. “It’s because you’re always so gentle. And because you don’t give me the same looks everyone else around me does.” Han-seo said.
You smiled at him. After he handed you the first aid kit he went to sit back down. You walked off to put everything away. A few moments later you came back to the kitchen. You silently moved around the kitchen, preparing to make tea.
“Why do you always help without a second thought?” Han-seo suddenly asked. You stopped in your tracks and glanced up at him. He had his hands clasped together and resting on the counter, staring at them intently. Trying his hardest not to meet your gaze at the moment. “Han-seo” You slowly walked to where you were standing in front of him. The counter being the only object separating the two of you. You rested both hands on the counter. “I’m always willing to help you without a second thought, because you’re my friend and I truly do care for you. I’ll remind you that I have no ulterior motives. I understand that may be difficult to process.” Your voice was gentle as you spoke. “You mean it?” Han-seo looked up from his hands to meet your gaze. “Of course. If I have to, I’ll remind you every time your doubts get too loud.” You moved around the counter to stand closer to Han-seo and gently set a hand on his shoulder. “Han-seo, you may not believe me when I say this. But to me, you’re not a nobody, you’re a somebody. You are worthy and you are loved. Don’t believe anyone who says otherwise. Especially if it's your brother. He’s a monster.” You wanted to say more but couldn’t as Han-seo stood up and began to hug you tightly.
“Thank you.” Han-seo spoke softly. You wrapped your arms around him to hug him back. “No problem.” You spoke just as softly. Han-seo let go after a few moments and pulled away. You slowly reached up to his face and gently wiped away the tears that fell. “It’s going to be okay, eventually.” You said. He smiled as he leaned into your touch more. For Han-seo, this moment meant a lot more to him than you were aware of. He had always been used to hands that meant him harm. Always used to being used. In this moment he felt human, he felt safe, and most importantly, he actually felt loved. The whistle from the kettle interrupted this moment. You smiled at him before walking away to tend to the kettle.
You pulled tea cups from your cupboard. Han-seo sat back in his chair, fondly watching every move you made. You set down the cups, one in front of him, the other in front of the seat next to him. You walked back to the stove to grab the tea kettle and the packets of tea that sat next to the stove on the counter. As Han-seo watched your movements, it was in that moment that he realized, this is the type of life he wished he had. A life where someone would care for him the way he so desperately needed. Someone he would care for just as much.
In the end Han-seo ended up staying the night at your place, not caring about the consequences he may face for it. He had decided that tomorrow he would go to Jipuragi Law Firm and confess what he had done.
Chapter Four: Han-seo's "Battle" Scar
Tumblr media
You woke up to Han-seo gently shaking your shoulder. “I’m sorry to wake you, I just wanted to tell you that I’ll be going now. But you’ll see me later.” He whispered to you. “All right.” You groggily replied to him. He smiled softly at you before leaving your home. Instead of waking up right away, you decided to sleep a little bit longer. Not ready to face the day just yet.
✨️✨️✨️
When you had finally gotten up and dressed for the day, you headed for the law firm. When you walked into the room, the atmosphere felt heavy. You hadn’t been told what had happened yet. “Everything in this building could’ve turned to ashes.” Mr. Nam said, giving you an idea of what was going. “I wonder who reported it, though.” Cha-young said. As if on cue, Han-seo walked through the door in the most ridiculous outfit you’ve ever seen him in. He strolled in and took a seat in the chair beside Vincenzo. Everyone in the room giving him a puzzled looked.
“Sir, I’d like some luwak coffee today.” He told Mr. Nam. You raised a brow at his attitude, wondering what exactly you missed. “It was such a hassle to brew it, so I sold it online.” Mr. Nam stated flatly. “Why would you? Don’t you know how rare it is?" Han-seo asked. “What’s with your clothes? It’s as if you live in the ‘80s Koreatown.” Cha-young asked. “I was just about to ask what’s up with this attire.” You blurted out. Han-seo smiled as he took off his tinted glasses. “I disguised myself in case someone recognized me on the way here.” Cha-young, Vincenzo, and Mr. Nam gave each other a look. You silently watched the whole exchange.
You were about to slap Han-seo’s hand when he began to press on his wound. Han-seo hummed in pain to get everyone’s attention. “What? Oh, this. I actually came here to tell you guys about this.” You rolled your eyes at his antics. “Let me tell you. This is a battle scar that I got for saving your lives.” He said while pointing at his wound. You raised a brow at him. Cha-young finally sat down in a chair at the table. “What do you mean?” “Yesterday, when this building was about to blow up. Who do you think reported it?” His words cleared your confusion about what Mr. Nam was referring to moments ago. He stood from the table as he continued to speak. “You see, my brother ordered me to blow up this building. And I made him think I was going to do so. Then I called the authorities at the right time. It really was dangerous.” He looked so proud of himself as he told everyone what happened. You couldn’t help but smile along with him.
“Are we supposed to thank you or something?” Cha-young asked him. “Of course, you should. You could’ve been buried alive, but I saved all of you.” Han-seo responded. “Thank you.” Mr. Nam stated flatly. Cha-young saying thank you in the same tone. Vincenzo stood up from his chair and walked away to the shelves that held different files on them. Han-seo followed him because he wanted to speak to him. You were curious so you stood up to stand closer to them. “My borther and Wusang know that there’s gold and the Guillotine file here. You know that, right?” Han-seo told Vincenzo. “That’s probably why he wanted to blow this place up.” Vincenzo responded. “He won’t stop here. He could even launch a missile.” “Oh my god. Nuclear launch detected.” Mr. Nam said, making Han-seo turn to stare at him with a surprised look on his face. “Don’t you think this is enough for you to do me that favor? I’ve done enough haven’t I?” Han-seo turned his attention back to Vincenzo as he spoke. Vincenzo looked up from the file he was flipping through. “Fine. I’ll do it. We’ll discuss details later.” Han-seo held a pinky out to Vincenzo with a smile on his face.
Vincenzo only smiled before throwing the file he held into Han-seo’s hands. “Organize them in alphabetical order.” Vincenzo told him. “Alphabetical?” Han-seo said looking down at the file he held. “Second from the top.” Mr. Nam announced. Han-seo turned to him with a smile and a nod before setting the file he held on the shelf.
“I’m sorry that I didn’t tell you what happned last night.” Han-seo turned to you as he spoke. You were currently leaning up against the copying machine that sat next to the shelves. “Oh, uh, it’s fine.” You replied to him. “Hold up, did we miss something?” Cha-young asked as she leaned forward on the table. You weren’t sure why, but your face began to heat up from the look she was giving you. “Who do you think patched me up?” Han-seo pointed to his wound as he spoke. “A doctor at the Emergency Room ” Mr. Nam answered. At this moment you were currently looking at the ground. You missed the way Han-seo smiled as he shook his head no to Mr. Nam’s statement. “Well, then. Who?” Cha-young asked. Instead of speaking, Han-seo happily pointed to you. Cha-young’s jaw dropped. Mr. Nam and Vincenzo raised a brow at his action. “Since when are the two of you that close?” Mr. Nam asked curiously.
“Since, some time after the day we had lunch together.” Han-seo turned to you as he spoke. You finally looked up from the floor to see him with a wide grin on his face. “I think, it’s been about a month or so since then.” You admitted. He nodded his head in agreement. “Huh.” You turned to see Vincenzo smirking at the two of you. You shook your head at them and turned to the shelves. Showing Han-seo where each file should be stored. Silence had fallen when you began to organize with Han-seo. Everyone decided to do their own thing, leaving the two of you in your own world for now. Vincenzo happened to steal a glance of the two of you working together. His sharp eye caught the way Han-seo would fondly glance at you when you weren't looking. Vincenzo could see what was happening, instead of saying anything he thought it best to stay silent and let it happen on it's own.
When the two of you had finished the task Han-seo headed home for the day. Cha-young was sitting at her desk. Vincenzo was at his desk. You moved to sit at the table. Not sure of what to do now. “Mr. Cassano, where are you going?” Mr. Nam asked. You looked up to see Vincenzo walking out of the office. You turned to see Cha-young shaking her head no as Mr. Nam looked in her direction. You’d be lying if you had said you weren’t curious. The three of you went back to doing your own things for a bit. Up until it was time to go home.
Chapter Five: Jun-woo's Sinister Announcement
Tumblr media
Han-seo was stuck being in the presence of his brother. “Make sure to make me feel ecstatic tonight. I’m looking forward to it.” Jun-woo announced to his phone. “Yes, sir. I promise to bring you good news.” Myung-hee said over the speaker of his phone. “Okay.” He said as he hung up. At that moment Han-seo stepped into the room with a tray in his hands. On the tray sat a glass of water and a bottle of vitamins. “You seem to be in a great mood. Did you go somewhere nice?” “That’s none of your business. What’s this?” “Oh, this? You don’t look too great these days. Your ears look humongous as well. This is for your health.” “After all you’ve done? Also, my ears were always huge.” “Really?” Jun-woo began to pour the vitamins into his hand. “Wait. One pill is enough.” Jun-woo gave him a look before dumping all but one vitamin back into the bottle and downing the glass of water.
“Are you really not going to tell me where you’ve been?” Han-seo asked his brother. Jun-woo had set the glass down and began to walk away. Instead of giving a clear answer he huffed and shook his head no. It was clear to Han-seo that something was up, but god forbid if his brother was ever honest with him. He glanced around the room, wondering where and what Jun-woo was up to. He moved to the table and lifted the jacket, sniffing it as if that would give him a clue. “Damn it. You could’ve told me in return for the supplements.” He spoke aloud to himself. Not knowing what dark scheme his brother had done was beginning to weigh heavily on his mind as he walked out of Jun-woo's room.
✨️✨️✨️
“All right. Let’s drink ourselves to death tonight.” Jun-woo said as he raised his glass. “Why are you in such a great mood today?” Han-seo asked curiously. “Because I killed Vincenzo’s mother.” He proudly responded. Han-seo’s heart sank at his brother's confession. Seung-hyeok was stunned by what was just spoken. “The one he was finally reunited with after 30 years?!” Han-seo couldn’t believe how proud his brother looked. He also couldn’t fathom why he would be happy about something so sinister.
“What?!” He blurted out. “He must be devastated, right?” Jun-woo had a sinister look of pride taking over his features as he spoke. “Were you aware of this?” Seung-hyeok asked. Myung-hee said nothing and sipped on her drink. Han-seo was stunned into silence, but he knew the question wasn’t directed at him. Or at least he had hoped that it wasn’t. “What’s wrong? Are you scared that I killed his mom?” Jun-woo asked in a mocking tone. “No, sir. I’m just worried it might worsen the current situation.” Seung-hyeok replied nervously. “I feel the same way. No good can come out of provoking him.” Han-seo admitted. He tried to keep his voice calm and steady. The last thing he wanted was for his brother to see and hear just how terrified he was currently feeling.
Jun-woo said nothing as he swirled his drink around, with a look of ‘oh really?’ gracing his features. “Since you joined hands, you must share the same feelings too.” Myung-hee said. “Joined hands? What are you trying to say?” Seung-hyeok asked. “Hey, Ms. Choi. How dare you talk so impudently?” Han-seo stood up from where he sat, facing Myung-hee. “I’m not being impudent. I’m just stating a fact.” Han-seo sighed heavily before turning to his brother. “That’s not true. He was just lending me a hand because I lacked so much.” “You’ve been meeting each other a bit too often for “just lending a hand”.” Myung-hee stated. “Damn it.” Han-seo turned his attention to her. “What? Have you been watching me?” Seung-hyeok stood up in a defensive manner. “Wait. Then me too. How can you keep tabs on your allies?” Han-seo asked. “It’s because you weren’t acting like allies. That’s why we did it.” She looked up to Han-seo with a blank stare. “Hey! Who do you think you’re talking to? Show some resepct.” Han-seo raised his voice at her.
Both Myung-hee and Jun-woo gave him a wicked smile instead of saying anything. Han-seo felt sick to his stomach at the events that were playing before him. Nothing could have prepared him for what had happened tonight. He knew that nothing good would come of this. “Hey. You must be out of your mind because of my brother when you’re a mere lawyer.” He directed his words at Myung-hee. Setting her glass down, she stood up. “Maybe. But I can still see through your lousy plan to betray the chairman.” Han-seo’s heart sank. “Ms. Choi!” Seung-hyeok yelled. “Watch what you say! He’s still our client nonetheless!” He pointed to Han-seo as he yelled.
Jun-woo sat quietly in his chair watching everything unfold before him. Silently enjoying the way everyone seemed to be at each other’s throats. Myung-hee moved from where she was standing to stand directly in front of Seung-hyeok. “Seung-hyeok, you of all people should have been more careful. How dare you betray the chairman’s trust?” “What did I do? How could you frame me like this?” “Frame my ass. You should’ve known better. How could you?” In frustration Seung-hyeok yanked his glasses off his face, running a hand down his features. “Do I look like a pawn now that you’ve gained some wealth and power? If it wasn’t for me, you’d still be Mr. Seo’s gopher back at the Namdongbu Office!” “Gopher”? “That’s right.” Myung-hee began to asssault him. “Do you want to die? I’m your senior! Show some respect!” Seung-hyeok fell to his knees turning his attention to Jun-woo. “Sir, I don’t know what she told you, but it isn’t true…”
Everyone turned their attention to the other side of the room when Myung-hee suddenly screamed. A man covered in blood asking for help had suddenly entered. What happened next shocked and terrified Han-seo. The man was shot in the head. As his body fell to the floor Vincenzo stood facing them with a gun. Vincenzo slowly walked forward pointing his weapon directly at Jun-woo. Ignoring Myung-hee and the way she was shaking with her hands in the air. The man’s blood covering and dripping from her face. Vincenzo had one goal and ignored everything else around him.
Jun-woo was barely phased by his actions. Suddenly, Vincenzo pointed his gun at Myung-hee making her duck for cover. Then he pointed it at Seung-hyeok and Han-seo, startling the both of them. Then pointing back at Jun-woo. He smirked but said nothing as he watched Vincenzo. Vincenzo began to point his gun at Myung-hee again, as he took several steps forward. Suddenly he aimed and shot around the room a few times.
“Killing my mother wasn’t just evil. It was utterly foolish. I knew that you killed countless people and even tried to kill me. But do you know why I didn’t kill you? Because it was a hassle.” Vincenzo said. Jun-woo looked up from where he was cowering to stare at him. He began to walk closer to Jun-woo. “I had a job to do. So if I’d killed you, it would’ve inconvenienced me a lot. Killing these small flies, wouldn’t though.” Vicnenzo said as he took a seat on one of the couches. “Anyway. You have to die now.” “No. Please.” Han-seo begged. “Why? No.” Seung-hyeok pleaded. Jun-woo looked to Vincenzo in anger and annoyance. “Don’t be scared. It won’t be today. You see, I’ve got a principle. “A painless death is a blessing”." Vicnenzo stated. “I will give you two things. A humiliation worse than death, and a slow death where you’ll experience it every step of the way.” Vincenzo glanced at Jun-woo for a moment then looked away. “You can take care of that garbage. And don’t even think about pinning it on me. If you do, people will find out who put him up to it.” He stood up and turned to leave. A moment later he turned back around and walked towards Jun-woo. Making Jun-woo back up against the chair he was near. “I should give you a preview.” He said as he pointed his gun at Jun-woo. Without even flinching Vincenzo aimed at his ear and pulled the trigger.
Jun-woo flinched and grabbed for his ear. Afterwards Vincenzo walked out as if nothing had happened. Everyone had rushed to Jun-woo's side. Panicking about what should be done. Eventually the authorities were called and he was taken to the hospital to have his ear taken care of.
