There’s something bitter sweet about hanging up the lab coat and putting on a new blazer… shame we’re forced to obtain money rather than results.
Goodbye science, and hello business world.

I just realized I don't want gender neutral bathrooms and changing rooms just for gender reasons. I don't even want them just for practicality reasons, or just for economic reasons.
I want gender neutral hygiene spaces because, in my experience*, women who are bursting to get out of a sports bra and/or pee are wont to say unkind things and excuse it as "between us girls", and men do not wash properly if they think the bro code protects them.

ngl it bothers me that even among all the "x is guilty of y" wank, nmj's attitude towards even non-combatant wens and participation in the siege of the burial mounds just... flies under the radar? lxc gets more shit for it and he wasn't even there
Yup! I think people expect more of lan xichen because he's a "good" and "moral" and "kind" character. also generally people judge characters who try and fail or try but not hard enough to stop a bad thing more than they judge the ones actually doing the bad thing. As much as I love cql I think having jgy and sms show up at the burial mounds, and having jzn be the one onscreen hunting down wen, and having exclusively jin and yao cultivators at the camp, encourages people to forget that nie mingjue is the OG wen exterminator. he is the one who shoots down any possibility of anyone associated with Qishan being granted mercy or amnesty. he is the one who insists they can't pardon the civilians because they're guilty too and also what if they grow up to take revenge. he's super into the archery competition.
and like. ok wen ruohan killed his dad but that's where it ends for him. this is excessive in the same way jgs's actions post war are excessive. the lan and jiang have every reason to be callous here considering their seats were burned and their people murdered and brutalized, but somehow they can muster a little "hey maybe this is a little much guys," and still get shit for not doing enough meanwhile mr. upright and just is insisting that even the kids and the old people gotta die.
he has so much in common with xue "i wouldn't even leave a dog alive" yang but noooOOOOoooo the actor's eyes got misty therefore he must be ~soft~ or some other bullshit.
we need to start talking about nmj the way ppl talk about jgy like "it's ok to like this Complex Character but why do all the stans woobify him like you can admit he did bad things and still like him uwu."

YEAH I've noticed in the older games that with how much tougher it is to over level and how dense and linear lot of in-between areas are, it really does feel like you've been fighting for your life in the woods and have finally found the next town. The town-to-town survival feeling is something I've always enjoyed, it kinda adds to this feeling that you are on a journey with nothing but your animal buddies. Unlike more open world games like scarvi and pla, if you want to turn back then unless you know fly you have to backtrack through tall grass with your likely already exhausted pokemon and risk a team wipe. Each town feels like a safe haven that you're tracking mud into lol
Once in ruby I was like. barely surviving getting through an area. I NEEDED a town and I was in an absolutely punishing area. powerful wild pokemon, trainer encounters that were mandatory and jumped out at you when you through you were in the clear, and all but one of my pokemon were completely out of pp on all damaging moves. making it to that town made me feel like my life just got saved lol.
ok like this was about specifically the amount and variety of stuff available in an abundant and diverse economy like veilstone city vs other dinky towns but honestly YEAH. REAL. it really is a dangerous game with the way that most routes require you to go through tall grass in at least a few areas, or caves. trainers too although that’s a one-time only thing but you can’t escape from those so gghhhhhhhhh. and some of these routes can be really long too. it really is such a risk and ordeal traveling places and it adds a nice touch of realism. do you spend your expensive potions and healing items for safety, or do you take a risk and run as fast as you can to the next town hoping you’ll be fine? ough. the fact that teleportation, even to places you’ve already been, isn’t available until you’ve completed a good chunk of the game really makes things feel different. like i’m excited to get it but also i know i’ll then get too lazy to take the long way and i miss out on grinding opportunities and such that way. plus it’s cool
