ouuuu god yeah i hope we hear a little bit about tommy's background w his sexuality because like!! him being queer in that horrible station environment (in 2005!!!) really adds some layers to the growth that we already see happening in the background in the begins episodes!!
did he know the whole time?? did he figure it out at some point while working there?? i would imagine he likely had some pretty serious internalized homophobia to work through at the time, i wonder if we'll get to hear about that journey at all
personally i think tommy aligns a little more with my eddie headcanons in terms of his queerness in the sense that buck? did not know. he wasn’t actively repressing anything, from everything we know he’s not religious and wasn’t raised in any church, so buck probably just thought he was a really passionate ally up until tommy kissed him (which, side note, i still cannot believe happened). and from everything we’ve seen regarding articles and post ep interviews of oliver and tim saying this is a positive arc, i have a feeling buck’s not gonna feel guilty of his bisexuality and his attraction to a man.
eddie and tommy on the other hand? oh baby
they were both in the army and with eddie we know canonically he enlisted pretty young. we can assume tommy probably joined fresh out of high school and then became a firefighter when he came back. eddie is from a catholic background and while we don’t know anything about tommy’s religious background, i can’t imagine it’s easy to be gay in the military and as a firefighter in the 2000s and not walk away with insane amounts of internalized homophobia.
now, i think he knew. i think he’s known. if he’s 45 years old he would’ve been entering middle school during the aids crisis. if he was in the military during the early-mid 2000s it was during the “don’t ask, don’t tell” period (that eddie misses by about a year i think). i think tommy not only knew, but all of america and his job and then his fire captain made sure to remind him how wrong he was for it.
(i think eddie is in this same boat. i’m not sure if he knows exactly what it is yet, but i don’t think he’s oblivious to his feelings the way buck was. i think he’s very much aware of them and very much aware of how they scare the shit out of him.
and if this does end up a parallel i’ll explode.)

wyatt johnston talks his sleep schedule — practice — 04.02.24
[what’s it like getting back at six am? i mean, is it like — a day or two, or how do you adjust to that?] i mean, for me, i think it’s … um, i know i can kind of get through it a little easier, i know some guys, you know, have kids and some other responsibilities where they don’t have the luxury of being able to sleep all day, but, um … yeah, i mean, i had — i was able to sleep in as long as i wanted and get as much sleep as i needed, which, um … you know, i think helps a lot for sure. um, obviously, it’s not easy though. uh — so definitely kinda took a little bit, but, yeah, i mean, for me it’s pretty easy just to — i mean, sleep ‘til i don’t need to anymore.
[so how long was that? what time d’you get up then?] um … i think it was around one or so? when i got up? it wasn’t — it wasn’t too bad. you know, obviously you wanna try to sleep at night too. um … so, yeah, i think it worked out, you know, worked out pretty well.

Just my semi-anual tourettes boys simping. Hope you're all well. :) I have more questions!!! I saw your post about snaps with cats. Needless to say I am absolutely in love with him. That reminds me though, what are tic tac and tous hobbies? How do they feel about cats? Hope you're having a wonderful day Alex <3
(Que me making googly eyes at tac specifically)
:'> ty. am having a good day. hope u r too <333
am glad u like Snaps sm :3
i did talk a lil about this one time, but that was a while ago, so i will again. with more detail, and Tou this time ofc.
Tic loves music. He got into the hobby of mixing stuff with his buddy Napstablook, and eventually started doing it on his own as well. Him and Blooks would be a killer DJing duo on stage, but he's not interested in that. Most he might do is live streams. maybe.
He's also great with a keyboard piano.
Tac got into welding, and the like, when he watched his Grillby weld together his necklace for him. He might get into glassblowing, maybe as a job, once on the surface.
He also likes to cook (and bake, but you didn't hear that from me). He def has a "kiss the cook" apron.
Tou ironically went to a wine tasting one time, but he actually enjoyed himself. The people were pretty nice, and the wine was good, so he kept going.
He loves physical activities. He'll get into pretty much any sport, but he actively runs and works out, and he loves volleyball.
Him and his brother play basketball sometimes too.
He also carves little figures sometimes, as a more relaxing at home hobby. His first was of his brother. It's not very good, at least in his eyes, but his bro holds it very dear, and keeps it, along with his other figures (most from his brother) on a shelf in his room.
(He'll carve with his left hand at times when his right is sore from tics. He is actually pretty good with his left at this point, but still better with his right.)

"Mike and Will wouldn't use pet names, they'd think they are cringe!"
As if Will didn't basically yell at Mike that he's the heart (not once but twice) in a room full of people, or like he didn't draw Mike with a huge red heart on his shield, painting that he planned to give him at the airport, again around thousands of people.
Or remember when he told Mike "what about us?" completely ready to confront Mike about his situation in a public place like Rink-O mania after he basically told him that it's normal for him to pay more attention to his girlfriend than to him.
But of course he would find it cringe or embarrassing to call the boy he's loved for years something like pet names, yeah.

the most upsetting thing to me about sam on private practice isn’t even that he started off as a somewhat likeable character and ended up being the worst. it’s that the entire show keeps trying to tell me what a “good guy” he is. like every character on the show is always going on and on about what a great person he is and what a decent man he is but his actions just tell me the exact opposite. it drives me absolutely nuts when a show just tells you how you’re supposed to feel about a character regardless of what their actions tell you.
