Everyone playing some kind of spirit for a village festival and Naruto ends up being just a lil too believable as a mischievous sun spirit getting woken up by the loud festival and refusing to go back to sleep, that even people who know 100% that all the “spirits” are just ninjas volunteering to make the kids happy are squinting their eyes suspiciously at him

Don't mind me dropping this plot out of no where...
MadaTobiIzu, Marriage Hunt, Time Travel, snippet
————
Tobirama surveyed the land of the Mountain's Graveyard. What he assume to find was no where in sight. In fact , what he expected to find as a lushious greenery and oversized bone filled mountain was instead replaced with a massive crater in the Center of it. As if a Bijuudama was dropped at the entirety of the land.
The Albino carefully inspected the badly scorched tree he was standing on. His brows furrowed at the suspicion his mind made of. Only an Uchiha would have the power to raze a land as big as this, using an overpowered Katon ( Amaterasu ). He shivered in fright at that thought. But it doesn't make sense that Madara or even Izuna went to this place and decided to obliterate it without any legitimate reason.
The Uchiha Brothers doesn't have the memories of the future like him, so they shouldn't even know about this place, let alone went through it for a mission. The Uchiha Clan never had any business regarding other Clans from other countries. He jump down on the ground and started a slow trek towards the Crater.
" We shouldn't linger here, Niidaime. " The gruff voice of the Kyuubi No Kitsune who sat on his shoulder made him stop on his tracks.
" What do you mean about that, Kurama?. " He asked sharply as he stared down the small form of the once Great Bijuu.
The Nine Tailed Fox wrinkled his snout in distaste. " We don’t have the time to investigate thoroughly here. Screw finding Zetsu!. I sense a squadron of twenty Uchiha coming from the North and they are heading towards our position. " He growled in anger, his burnt orange fur bristling at the thought of confronting an Uchiha Squadron.
Tobirama stiffened in shock. " That's impossible!. I would have sense them the moment they came within my Sensing Range!. " He snapped at the Bijuu who kneaded his shoulder nervously. With an annoyed huff, he quickly turn back towards the sparse trees in order to have an easy travel time. Fueling his jump with a healthy dose of Chakra, the Albino manage to clear at least far enough — meters away from his original destination.
It wouldn’t do any good if he confront a Squadron of Uchiha all on his own. That would be a suicide move on his part. He doesn't even know if these ones had the Mangekyo. A rarity to manifest ( in his past ) but miraculously the Uchiha in this timeline...most had manifested theirs. He frown at that enigmatic outcome....
" Tobirama, look out!!! " The sheer panic in Kurama's voice made the Senju freezes on his track. He quickly backpedal as he saw Uchiha Izuna standing on his path. He seemingly appeared out of nowhere and it made Tobirama unnerved at the thought that his rival had found a way to suppress his presence. His famous Sensing skills was utterly useless in the face of the Uchihas newest Technique?...
The squadron of grim faced Uchiha that stood behind Izuna made Tobirama pull out his Katana and his specialized Kunai in case he needed to flee in haste.
" Greetings, Tobira!. Fancy meeting you here?!. " Izuna's mocking voice made the Albino's hackles rise. He loathed how casual his rival acted whenever they face off. He doesn't know why Izuna a month ago started to act as if they were long time comrade.
" Shit!!! Incoming at 4' o clock.!!! " The Bijuu's low panic voice whispering in his ear made Tobirama successfully evade the grasping skeletal hands of the Susanoo who materializes out of nowhere. He felt his heart beat in fright as he saw Uchiha Madara encase in the glowing blue ribs of his Susanoo. The man stared at him with an unreadable look on his face. The elder Uchiha’s own Squad rallying behind him made Tobirama grip his Katana tightly. He's sorrounded and he knew it wouldn't be an easy fight knowing the top fighters of the Uchiha are after him.
" Awww, Aniki. And here I thought you could easily capture him!. " Izuna's whiny voice quickly snapped Tobirama out of his panic. He could feel Kurama burrowing beneath his fur collar in order to escape the Uchihas sharp eyes. He gritted his teeth and felt sweat gather on his forehead and neck as he plan how to effectively escape without the Uchiha tailing him.
Throwing his special kunai between Izuna’s Squad he readied his Chakra to latch onto his Hiraishin Marker, but he was forced to abandon his plan as Izuna easily caught the deadly projectile. His rival curiously eyed the intricate Fūinjutsu that was wrapped around its handle.
" Huh?. Is this another clever invention of yours?. " Izuna grinned at him mockingly. " Let me guess, does this technique....perhaps....teleport you?. "
Tobirama reeled back in shock. How did his rival even knew what Hiraishin was?. The younger Uchiha wasn't supposed to know its existence for another few months at least!!!
Eyeing apprehensively the Squadron slowly flanking him from different directions. It was only through sheer luck he manages to again expertly dodge the grasping hands of Madara’s Susanoo. So busy was he dodging and jumping out of reaching distance from the other Uchihas who had use chains to capture him...he was woefully unprepared for Izuna — in the space of between heartbeats appeared out of nowhere inches away from him. The man’s Mangekyo Sharingan blazing inches away from his own red eyes and it was a second too late before Tobirama could even look away.
His terrified gasp was cut off as he felt the Genjutsu gripping his mind like a predator eating its prey. Even his well ordered mind had easily buckled beneath Izuna’s powerful mental command like a dry paper turned wet.
Tobirama could feel his whole body lock up and he watch in helpless trepidation as Izuna caught his limp body in a tight hold.
" Good Job, Izu. " Madara’s voice echoed somewhere behind him. And Tobirama could only scream and thrash inside his own mind as Izuna easily carried his considerable weight as if he weigh nothing. The Squadron of his Rival stared down at him and their faces revealed their relief of not engaging him in a battle.
The only thing he was thankful for in this fucked up situation was — Kurama somehow found the Hidden Seal inside his fur collar. And the Kitsune would remain undetected from the Uchiha as long the Bijuu doesn't reveal himself.....
" He's fighting my Genjutsu, niisan. " Izuna frown down at him and Madara’s face filled his vision and Tobirama couldn't even flinch in surprise as The Rinnegan manifested in Madara’s eyes.
As soon as the violet eyes of Madara stared at his terrified red ones. Tobirama thrashed and rages in the confines of his own mind....but the Rinnegan gaze was inescapable. So busy was he in trying to escape his mental captivity, he didn't even notice as his mind abruptly went blank...
and he knew nothing anymore.....
———
Izuna exhaled in relief as blank red eyes stared up at him and Madara. He doesn't know how Tobirama gained the knowledge to fight the influence of the Sharingan but feeling the man's mental presence thrashing and terrified out of his wits made a Headache bloom in his temples. He winced as he passed the Albino's limp form to his Brother.
" Thank fuck. We easily subdued him. I really thought we'd have to break his bones before we can capture him. " Izuna stretched his aching joints as he stared down at the Albino's unseeing red eyes. He grip Tobirama’s soft pale hand in fascination. The man had one of the gorgeous hands he had ever seen.
" Is he okay, Aniki?. " He asked his frowning Brother. Madara blinked at him and turn off his Rinnegan.
" Yes. Though it seems I might have come into his mind too strongly. It only took a second before he buckled underneath my mental command and his subconscious remain blank for now. "
Izuna paused to digest that information. " Does this mean he's a clean slate for us to do as we pleases?. " He gently carded a hand through soft white strands as he stared seriously at his Brother. Madara sighed and adjusted the limp Albino in his arms.
" I don't know. This is the first time I have used the Rinnegan as a method to wipe someone's mind. We will see how he"ll react once he regain his consciousness. "
Hikaku couldn't help but gently interject. " If the Rinnegan was successful in wiping most of his memories. It would be in your right to overwrite some of it so that he'll have an easy transition in getting accepted into the Clan. I guarantee The Elders wouldn't even complain once you assured them of what you've done. " He turned to his young cousin who curiously eyed the unresponsive Albino.
" Anything you want to say, Hikaru?. "
The teenager shrugged and replied. " Not really. I'm just relieved we easily took one of the Senju’s top fighter and he can't hurt an Uchiha anymore if he belongs to Madara–sama and Izuna–sama. "
Madara and Izuna snorted in tandem.
" We're not owning him, Hikaru. We'll marry him so that Hashirama would be forced to concede to our demands. "
Hikaru looked uncertain at his Clan Head and Heir. " Both of you?. Could he even do his duties properly as the Main Family Wife?..." The other members of their Squads stared awkwardly at the unresponsive Albino.
Madara and Izuna smirked. " He'll be fine. He wasn't known as a Genius for nothing. "

Headcanons for the the guys introducing their S/O to the rest of the gang
I was soooo happy to get this so close to Valentine’s Day! Hope you like how these scenarios play out, and thanks so much for the Ask. ♥
Warnings: None. Gender neutral reader.
KUWABARA
Tumblr media
Kuwabara told his friends about you quite literally within 24 hours of meeting you, so they already know a ton about you.
He’s also been telling his friends how amazing you are for months, so you have a lot to live up to. (*gulp*)
When he introduces you at last, he absolutely gushes.
He’s so proud to call you his S/O, he basically babbles a glowing introduction until he’s blue in the face, pushing you out toward his friends so they can see you.
He can’t wait to show you off and for them to see how amazing you are!
You’re nervous at first, but those feelings quickly fade.
Kuwabara has gushed about his friends to you (this boy is so proud of all of his friends even Hiei), so you already know a ton about them, too!
Actually, you feel like you already know Yusuke and the others, and they feel like they already know you, too.
It makes getting along with them really easy, all thanks to Kuwabara’s inability to play it cool about how much he loves you/his friends.
(Even Hiei seems OK, despite what Kuwabara’s said about his bad attitude; you just think he’s shy and resolve to be kind to him no matter what.)
You mesh into the group perfectly, Kuwabara looking on with pride as you make friends with ease.
KURAMA
Tumblr media
Unsurprisingly, Kurama is not nearly as gushy or effusive as Kuwabara.
No, Kurama is way more subtle about how he introduces you.
For one thing, he doesn’t gush about you when you’re not around.
He’s mentioned you to his friends, but he’s generally quite private about his relationships.
They know who you are and some basic facts about your life, but you’re pretty mysterious overall.
The fact that he’s introducing you to his friend group is proof that he’s serious about you, tbh. You never would’ve met them if you weren’t important.
Kurama gently introduces you to everyone at a social event (one he chose quite carefully for an atmosphere he thinks will put you at ease).
He doesn't babysit you, introducing you to everyone and then letting you make friends as you see fit.
Kurama watches from afar, shooting you smiles from across the room whenever you catch his eye.
He’ll intervene if you seem uncomfortable, but otherwise he trusts you to handle yourself, confident you’ll make a good impression. He’s with you for a reason, after all.
HIEI
Tumblr media
This little shit.
No one knew he was seeing anyone, let alone that he had a formal S/O!
He’s literally never talked about you once.
He just shows up with you in tow one day and they’re like “??? Who?? Who is that???”
And he just casually drops your name and lets you fill in the labels and stuff.
You stumble a bit over what to call Hiei, TBH, but they all seem to get it even if you avoid the word “boyfriend” (that label seems juvenile and your relationship with Hiei is anything but that).
Yusuke teases Hiei a lot once they realize who you are, and Kurama keeps shooting Hiei knowing looks, and Kuwabara sputters about being left out of the loop again, but all in all everyone is super welcoming.
They’re also super curious about you, because Hiei dating someone is a foreign concept for everyone involved.
Kuwabara starts off a little reluctant/suspicious (he’s not sure what to make of someone Hiei would date) but soon he sees you’re awesome and warms up to you.
They all eagerly welcome you into the fold and ask you lots of questions.
Eventually Hiei gets tired of it and basically drags you away while you wave over your shoulder, saying you’ll see them soon (you hope).
You like all of Hiei’s friends and they like you a lot in return.
Hiei isn’t sure if he likes how well you get along with everyone, though.
Is he going to have to share you with them now, or…?
YUSUKE
Tumblr media
Elephant in the room: Yukimura Keiko
Yusuke and Keiko were super serious when they dated, but they didn’t work out as romantic partners and instead remain good friends, which suits them much better.
So when Yusuke meets you and realizes he’s interested, he’s… well, he’s not sure what he’s doing, TBH.
The pair of you start off as friends (because that’s how he started off with Keiko and he doesn’t know how else to go about dating anyone).
This means that when Yusuke introduces you to his friend group for the first time, he introduces you as a friend, and as a friend only.
But Keiko is a smart lady, and she takes one look at the way you and Yusuke bicker and banter, and she knows.
She can see the way you look at Yusuke, and she sees how he looks at you, and Keiko spent enough time pining after Yusuke to recognize someone else pining after him when she sees it.
She takes great pains to make you feel welcome, making sure you don’t feel weird about hanging out with Yusuke’s ex in the room.
And then in private, she absolutely lays into Yusuke for not being more forthright with you about his feelings.
“We danced around each other for years, and look where it got us!” Keiko tells him as he stares at his feet, pouting. “You need to be honest! Confess how you feel, and soon!”
Keiko is the smartest person Yusuke knows (aside from maybe Kurama), so while it takes him a while to work up the courage, he eventually comes around and takes her advice to confess.
Basically, the act of Yusuke introducing you to his friends is what brought the two of you together as a couple, and Keiko remains your biggest advocate in your relationship with Yusuke.
Thank you so much for reading! It was nice to address the Keiko element in the Yusuke section; it’s tough to write X-reader pieces for characters who are in canon relationships, so working her into it felt natural.
Hope you enjoyed, and thanks!

~Kurama~Main Story Chapter 19~
Tumblr media
Warning!! The story has strong language, gore, and attempted rape.
Chapter 18
*
*
*
-------Part 1-------
Kurama: “I’ll feel better when you’re out of my sight....because I want to get rid of this feeling in my heart.”
Yoshino: “.......I see.”
Kurama’s voice sounded as if he was condemning my sin, which I falsely attributed to a small smile.
Kurama: “But you and I will meet again on the battlefield. It would be easy to snuff out a dream....It might not be a bad idea to leave you under the cherry blossom tree on this day forever.”
(Eh?)
The wind blew harder than ever, causing petals to fly in the air.
A moment later I squinted at the momentum----Kurama gently turned his head towards me.
Yoshino: "Mm....."
Our lips meet and a sad moan escapes from my mouth.
We didn't know which one of us was melting from the heat.
Yoshino: "Mmm....haa....ahh.."
(....Why?)
His tongue slipped through the thin lips and tickling the sensitive areas.
He stimulated all the right places and my body was supported by his strong arms.
When I opened my eyes, my view was blocked by my messy bangs disturbed by the wind.
Yoshino: "Nnn...."
Our lips separated with a faint wet sound.
My hair was a mess and Kurama gently adjusts it without saying a word.
Kurama: ".............."
Our gazes intertwined and our wistful breaths touched.
Tumblr media
Kurama: "I'd rather kill you than have someone else kill you. Until then, stay alive."
Yoshino: "........"
The words were too dangerous to be an expression of possessiveness and smelled too much of blood to be a confession of love.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. I won't get myself killed...(+4/+4)
2. Kurama is the one who must not be killed.
3. No reaction...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yoshino: "I'll do my best not to get killed..."
(For myself and for my friends...)
Kurama: "Good. I like that about you."
At some point, the residue of the withered tears was swept away by the wind along with the petals.
Kurama: "Yoshino. From now on....you're not my toy."
Yoshino: "......Mm."
I felt my heart tear into a thousand pieces, but I pretended not to know the pain.
Yoshino: "Because now....I'm Kurama's enemy."
I did not ask or speak about the meaning of that kiss.
.................
Time moves on, leaving stagnant thoughts behind.
Yoshino: "I think that's pretty much it for packing."
-------Part 2--------
Yoshino: "I think that's pretty much it for packing."
(Finally, today is the day I leave here.)
The Shogunate and the Rebels each have a system whereby only the messenger and a few soldiers as my escorts precede them to the battlefield.
(The Rebel messenger is going to take me and hand over to the Shogunate messenger on the battlefield....)
(Then, as soon as the two sides' main armies join up, the war begins, right?)
I gently looked at the shiny stone in my hand.
(As a member of the Shogunate I fight against the Rebels.)
Yoshino: "Kurama.....is going to kill me."
(I, too, cannot protect anything unless I am prepared to do so.)
(And yet...)
(I still have such a crush on Kurama.)
I gripped the stone tightly and dammed up the emotions that were about to spill out.
Yoshino: "...................."
And then, I stood up and I went out-----
..............
Yoshino: ".......I'm coming in."
I called out softly and opened the sliding door to enter.
I already had a hunch that the room owner----Kurama would be out.
(.....Forgive me, Kurama. For entering your room without your permission. I'll leave as soon as I've done my business.)
I apologize in my heart and kneel down on the shelf at the end of the room.
The shiny figurines owned by Kurama were carefully arranged and sparkled.
Yoshino: ".................."
I take out the shiny stone I picked up from the Otherworld and placed it between the beautiful ornaments to hide it.
The small white fragments glow dimly like the daytime moon.
(....If we can't let go of our memories, let's at least leave them behind.)
Tumblr media
Yoshino: "Thank you for everything. .......goodbye, Kurama."
As I said those words, my vision again caught the shiny stone and it started filling my memories.
(Somewhere along the line, I naturally accepted that I was your toy.)
(I felt like that was a manifestation of your typical possessiveness.)
(By the time I got to the point where I wanted to be more than a toy, it was..... too late.)
I stood back up and left the room quickly...
I started walking without even looking back.
........................
-----On the same day, evening at Kyoto.
The mysterious light of twilight illuminated the beautifully furnished room.
Ibuki: "I've made you wait, Akihito."
Ibuki walks into the room and sees a young man sitting in front of him smiling languidly.
Tumblr media
Akihito: "You have a bad habit to call people immediately and make them wait, Ibuki."
Ibuki: "Looks like you were busy playing with that."
Ibuki pointed to Akihito's lap as if to make fun of him.
He was comfortably beating his drum to pass time.
Akihito: "What else can I do here? Well, anyway..."
------Part 3------
Akihito: "What else can I do here? Well, anyway...Yoritomo has outwitted us all, hasn't he?"
A soft, unreadable smile crept across Akihito's lips.
Akihito: "I didn't think they'd take back the fox princess."
Tumblr media
Ibuki: "Why are you laughing about it?"
Akihito: "Why not? You'll manage it, won't you? I sowed the seeds of evil, Yasuchika nurtured them and....Ibuki, it's your job to reap the harvest."
Ibuki: "Pain in the ass."
Akihito: "I thought you loved playing?"
Ibuki: "Okay okay, anything for you."
After a snide retort, Ibuki laughed and sat down next to Akihito.
----To discuss their future plans.
...............
Rebel soldier 1: "The sun will soon be gone. Let's start preparing the camp."
A rebel soldier riding in front of my horse looks back at me.
Rebel soldier 2: "Ah. Hey, are you feeling any better?"
Yoshino: "Yes, I'm doing fine."
As a prisoner of war to be handed over to the Shogunate, I have been treated with respect by the rebel envoys.
It was Yoshitsune-sama who gave the order to do so.
(Yoichi-san and Benkei also were sweet enough to see me off. It is as if they forgot I'm an enemy.)
------FLASHBACK------
Benkei: "I know you're gonna stubbornly say 'No' if I asked you to run away. But nothing can be done now, isn't it?
Tumblr media
Yoichi: "We'll just have to hope that we won't run into you on the battlefield."
------FLASHBACK ENDS-----
(Those two also risked their lives to fight for Yoshitsune-sama and their friends.)
(I'm going to stand on the battlefield, so I should learn to face anything.)
On the back of the horse, I look ahead and think about the battle that lies ahead.
At that time-----
Rebel soldier 3: "Hm? What the....?"
(What happened?)
One of the soldiers suddenly looked at the mountainside on his right.
Yoshino: "......Sand dust?"
I gasp at the sound of many horses' feet galloping towards us.
Rebel soldier 1: "No way, an enemy attack!?"
(No way.)
Dozens of men jumped out of the slope and rushed towards us on horseback.
Enemy 1: "She's here! Get her!"
Enemy: *ROARS*
Rebel soldier 2: "Are they from the Shogunate!?"
Rebel soldier 3: "I don't think so. There's no point in making a surprise attack when we've already negotiated so much."
(That's right. So, who are these people....?)
Rebel soldier 1: "We can't let em hurt our prisoners..."
-------The oldest soldier turns to me.
Rebel soldier 1: "And you, follow me closely! Let's get out of here."
-------Part 4-------
Rebel soldier 1: "And you, follow me closely! Let's get out of here."
Yoshino: "Yes!"
The rebels soldiers lined up their horses around me and ran frantically.
I was followed by the shouts of my escorts and the clatter of horses' hooves.
........................
At the same time---Kurama, who was leaning on his side in his room, was playing with the silver crown in his hand.
Kurama: "I don't like it. The glow should be undiminished, but it's not."
As he put the crown reflecting the orange of setting sun, back on the shelf.
A similar sparkling object falls off.
Kurama: "........."
He picks it and was about to place it back, when-----
Kurama: "What the?"
Kurama frowned at the dimly shine of a stone, placed hidden in between his collection.
Kurama: "This is...no way...."
It's as if he's trying to hold on to a memory of someone who's just popped into his head.
Tumblr media
Kurama cradles the small stone in his palm.
At that time-----
Yoichi: "Kurama!"
Suddenly, the sliding door of the room opens and Yoichi rushes in, breathing hard.
Kurama: "What is it?"
Kurama's gaze sharpens slightly at the unusual appearance of Yoichi.
Yoichi: "There's an attack. The Court's hands have extended to the party which was sending over Yoshino."
Kurama: "!!!!"
........................
(It's been a day. ....We've managed to escape, but.)
Rebel soldier 1: "It's not good. The horses are getting tired. I wish the enemy would give up for good."
We jumped into the mountains and tried to move along the ridge, hiding from our pursuers.
(At least if we knew who the enemy was....?)
At that time----
Rebel soldier: "Shit! They're here again!"
Yoshino: ".....!!"
At the same time as we turned around at the sound of the impatient voice, arrows poured down like rain.
Rebel soldier 2: "RUN!"
He shouted at the top of his lungs, and when one soldier tried to return the fire with his own bow, he was shot and fell from his horse.
I was about to reach out to him when another soldier tugged at my horse's hitch.
Rebel soldier 3: "Just run!"
Yoshino "..... Okay."
(If the enemy's goal is to catch me, I must never be caught.)
Keeping low, we sprinted along the beastly path, which narrowed the further we went.
............
(How long has it been, since I'm running....?)
Running like mad, falling down the mountainside, still running away, but.....
Rebel soldier 1: "They're catching up. We'll have to fight our way back!"
-------Part 5-------
Rebel soldier 1: "They're catching up. We'll have to fight our way back!"
The rebels soldiers started protecting me with their backs.
The rebel soldiers drew their weapons in unison and they glittered in the cloudy sky.
(.....I can't believe I can only watch like this.)
Enemy 1: "What can you even do with such a small number?"
The enemy smiled hatefully and stepped forward as if he had plenty of room.
Rebel soldier 1: "LET'S FIGHT!"
Rebel soldiers: *ROARS*
Enemy 1: "COME ON!"
Some shoot arrows, others wield white blades.
(But the number of soldiers on our side is too small compared to the other side. At this rate....)
The rebel soldiers, who are slowly retreating to fight back, are clearly in a bad mood.
Enemy 2: "Eat this!"
Rebel soldier 1: "Nn...."
(Ah.........)
A soldier was cut down in front of me and fell into the mud.
Rebel soldier 1: "Fuck...you should....go first. Go!"
The horse's rump is beaten and he clings to the reins.
Enemy 1: "Don't let her get away! Go, go----"
(....I'm scared.)
I winced as one of the arrows pierces my arm.
But still, I ran with all my might------
Yoshino: "Kyaa!!"
My horse lets out a high-pitched scream and rocks violently.
(They shot him in the leg!)
There was nothing I could do, and my body falls off the horse.
(Damn it!)
Yoshino: "Ouch...!!"
I staggered back to my feet and stared in amazement at the hellish battle.
Rebel soldier 4: "Gwaa..."
One by one, the rebel soldiers fell into the mud.
I was immediately confronted by several enemies, who blocked my escape.
Enemy 1: "He ordered us to be careful. We were just ordered to capture and keep the woman alive."
Yoshino: "Nngh....."
Enemy 2: "Now now, don't make it difficult for us....come here, missy!"
One of the men who had dismounted grabbed me roughly by the arm and I winced in pain.
(Ah.....)
My eyes widen as I look over their heads, only to see the last of the Rebels soldiers fall.
Yoshino: "...Let go of me!!"
Enemy 3: "Hey, shut up!"
Enemy 4: "She looks like some ordinary town girl? What's so valuable about her?"
Tumblr media
Enemy 5: "Who cares...? All our employers want, is her. But, well, it wouldn't hurt if we love her a little bit before handing it over, right....?"
I got goosebumps all over my body as he gave me a lecherous smile.
(No....)
I shake off their hands and try to run away from the emerging smirking men------
Enemy 1: "Where are you running off to?"
Yoshino: "Nn...No."
They soon caught up to me and dragged me down to the ground.
My vision darkens with despair as I see multiple arms stretching towards me....
???: "What the fuck are you doing?"
(Eh...)
At that moment---- the air around us was suffocatingly tense.
Enemy 1: "Ngh....."
The men's smiles froze, and they all turned their attention to the owner of the voice.
(No way....)
Tumblr media
Kurama: "Did you touch the woman?"

ShikaNaru Week 2021 Day 3 [Jinchuriki Shikamaru]
ShikaNaru Week 2021
@shikanaruevent
Day 3 - Jinchuriki Shikamaru AU | Dom/sub
Read On Ao3
“Naruto, be careful. Something is wrong here.” Kurama warned Naruto as he and his team landed in a destroyed and smouldering clearing with the half-melted bodies all of them had slashed through Hidden Mist headbands scattered around them.
“What do you mean?” Naruto asked mentally as he knelt next to one of the bodies.
“This reeks of the Two Tail, Matatabi. Something is wrong here, be careful and get the Monkton user ready,” Kurama said ominously.
“Yamato-Tachio, Kurama says it may be the Two Tails, but something is wrong,” Naruto reported and Yamato nodded and straightened up as Sai and Sakura looked more on edge than before.
“The Two Tails? I thought we found where Shikamaru had been taken.” Sakura frowned as she stamped a small puddle of flames out with her foot to vent her anger at not finding their friend.
“What if the two are related…” Sai trailed off with the idea that had all of them stiffening as the thought fully set in.
“We’ll find out soon enough, the Two Tails chakra is this way.” Naruto swallowed as he prayed that Shikamaru was nowhere near the Two Tails.
The group moved through the trees in unison as they neared where the Two Tail’s chakra was flaring up. Naruto arrived first, urged on by bursts of Kurama’s chakra. Naruto held up his fist as his stomach flipped at the sight and the trees rustled as the rest of his team settled on branches around him.
“Shit,” Yamato swore, eyes widening.
Shikamaru was sitting cross-legged in the middle of a clearing that was merely burning around him, but not penetrating the blue and black chakra cloak that was engulfing his body and two tails lazily swayed behind him.
“What do we do?” Sai asked curiously, fingers itching to capture the sight that somehow looked so serene and tranquil in the middle of so much chaos.
“We wait, he’s talking with the Two Tails. If anyone can do it, Shikamaru can.” Naruto said confidently and Kurama hummed in his mind.
“I’ll be on standby in case things get out of control,” Yamato promised as wood began to creep out of his arm as he kept a firm eye on the chakra cloak that was covering Shikamaru.
“Good plan, I remember how hard it was to keep control in the beginning. I can only imagine that it is worse for Shikamaru.” Naruto whispered, his eyes never once leaving Shikamaru and he kept his chakra low and even Kurama was quiet knowing better than to interrupt.
“Why would it be worse?” Sakura asked, silently jumping to Naruto’s branch.
“We know he was kidnapped, by those rouge Hidden Mist Nin. They must have torn the seal apart on the previous Two Tail’s Jinchuriki and forced it into Shikamaru. The brutality of it and the anger I’m sure both of them were feeling must have fed them to react in the way we saw…Not to mention most of us Jinchuriki’s had our beasts sealed into us when we were born, so they grew with us. This could be complicated if Shikamaru doesn’t figure this out.” Naruto explained in a hushed voice, but every muscle in his body was tensed and ready to move in case something went wrong.
“I understand,” Sakura clenched her fists as she looked down at Shikamaru with worry clear on his face.
“He’s going to need our support,” Naruto reminded and Sakura nodded firmly, eyes shining with determination and Naruto knew that Shikamaru would have his friends in his corner and Naruto would be the most supportive one. He would not allow his friend, his crush to be cast off and labelled a demon or used for political gain.
“Look,” Yamato caught their attention as Shikamaru drew his feet up under himself and rose gracefully to his feet. The chakra cloak melding to his limbs like a second limb instead of a bubbling mass of chakra.
“We’re okay, we have control. You can come down now.” Shikamaru called out, his eyes a soft glowing yellow as the chakra cloak faded away. Naruto was by Shikamaru’s side in a flash and was able to catch the Nara as he stumbled and collapsed into his arms.
“What you guessed is what happened, but our anger is gone. We avenged Yugito and she is now at peace.” Shikamaru said, sounding exhausted as he allowed Naruto to hold him close.
“Did you work something out with the Two Tail?” Naruto asked worriedly, determined to make sure the Two Tail wasn’t going to take control of Shikamaru and make him a vessel of destruction and murder.
“Matatabi and I are good, we came to an agreement as you and Kurama did. It’ll take some time for us both to adjust and get used to our new rhythm but she is already calling me kitten so I think we’ll be fine.” Shikamaru explained and Naruto laughed as Kurama echoed his laughter inside of the seal.
“Yeah, the shadow user will be fine if Matatabi is already calling him kitten,” Kurama assured Naruto.
“I was so worried for you,” Naruto ducked his head to hide his face against Shikamaru’s head, letting out a shaky exhale as the realization that while Shikamaru was safe now, he was a Jinchuriki just like him and as selfish as it sounded… Naruto was glad not to be alone anymore. Kurama didn’t voice his agreement but his satisfaction at having one of his more tolerable siblings nearby.
Shikamaru was a Jinchuriki now and Naruto will keep him safe.

Counundrum 4
Part 4 to this
Kuwabara remains seated on his spot on the ground, his mouth open in awe as Toya and Hiei fight.
He can’t see a damn thing with his eyes, but his spiritual awareness is going crazy. He has a feeling if he closed his eyes, he’d have a better understanding of how the fight was going, but he's too stunned to do that just yet.
Kuwabara eases himself up slowly, and rotates his shoulder until the tense muscle in his back, behind his shoulder blade, unwinds. He sighs with relief as the pain eases off, and looks out in front of him and up, where he can sense the two demons fighting. He manages to catch a flash of blue, and then black, and catches a few angry words.
“What were you doing?” That was Toya.
“What right do you have to know?” And that was Hiei.
Kuwabara catches a few more words like, “Apologize,” and, “Fuck off,” but like the two dueling demons fight, he can’t keep up with the conversation either.
Kuwabara rubs his temple, and shouts, “Guys would you fuckin’ stop! Why the hell are you two even fighting!? Toya! You overreacted! I’m fine! Hey!”
There is no answer, but Kuwabara sees a tree get knocked over to the left, and then sees Toya struggling to get up from the remains. Hiei stands several yards away, his sword drawn and his left sleeve torn.
The hairs on the back of Kuwabara’s neck stand up, as he suddenly worries about the fight getting deadly. He hopes that's not the case, but the sight of the two glaring at each other makes Kuwabara's skin goosebumps anxiously. This is not going well.
“Guys! GUYS! Stop being idiots!” Kuwabara shouts jogging towards them. He needs to explain. Hiei didn't hurt him. Whatever Toya thought he saw, didn't happen. And Kuwabara also wants to tell Hiei he rejected Toya already; that there is nothing going on between them. Kuwabara's not sure what good that would do for Hiei to hear, but it would make Kuwabara feel better.
Toya disappears, and Kuwabara tries to do a retreat as he senses what is about to happen. He doesn’t have enough time to dodge or stop, as Toya reappears in front of him, hooking his arm around Kuwabara’s waist, and picking him up like he is nothing. It's rough, and he makes an, "Oof!' sounds as the air is knocked out of him.
Kuwabara fucking hates how strong demons are.
He hears Hiei growl somewhere behind him, but Kuwabara is lifted in the air, and then deposited underneath a shade of a tree. Toya’s brow is bleeding as he sets Kuwabara down with gentle care and cautions, “Stay here, you’ll be safe.”
Toya’s gone in a blink, but Kuwabara hopes he hears his angry shout of, “Are you fucking kidding me???”
Kuwabara did not need to be scooped up and shuffled out of the way, because if there’s one thing Kuwabara can trust, is Hiei is not going to hit him. Not on purpose or accident. They've gone after each other before, but in a real fight, Hiei would never hit a teammate, or even a civilian for that matter. Hiei is in perfect control, even with his explosive abilities. Kuwabara wonders if that means Toya has less control of what he might do. If that’s the case, then if anyone is a danger to Kuwabara here, then it’s Toya.
Kuwabara hears Hiei’s energy collide with Toya’s, and the intense pressure of it makes Kuwabara think Hiei has come to the same conclusion.
This day, this plan Kuwabara had.... has gotten really fucking messy really quick.
Kuwabara is getting to his feet, when a hand clamps on his shoulder, and he jumps, shrieking in fright.
“Jesus! Chill, Kuwabara!” Yusuke says, flinching a little from Kuwabara’s reaction.
Kurama is at Yusuke’s side, eyes darting left and right, mouth open in surprise. Kuwabara's a little jealous Kurama can keep up with it all. Can Kuwabara do more training? Does he have time after classes?
“We felt the fight from Kurama’s!” Yusuke says drawing Kuwabara’s attention again. “What’s going on? What’s Toya doing here?”
“He came to talk to me,” Kuwabara tries to explain, wondering if he should come clean about his lie about actually going to the demon world.
“What caused this?” Kurama asks, wincing as another tree is knocked over. Half burnt, and half covered in ice.
“Shit, they’re really trying to take each other out!” Yusuke says, fighting to sound serious and not amused.
The pair of them keep talking over Kuwabara, and he can’t get a word in. He growls in frustration as he realizes that they aren’t going to let him answer. Why ask a fucking question, if you don't want an answer?
“We should stop them before this gets out of hand!” Kurama continues, as Kuwabara tries to speak again.
“Stay right here Kuwabara, we got this!” Yusuke says, a hand squeezing Kuwabara’s shoulder.
Kurama and Yusuke take off the join the fray, and Kuwabara takes in a long breath.
This is all really, really, really stupid, and really frustrating.
‘It’s what I get for trying to come up with a fuckin' plan to trick these guys. Why the hell did I think I could trick them? I should have just told them they were assholes, and punched Hiei in his stupid head, and made him admit to Yukina who he was! I don’t have the smarts, and I don’t have the fuckin’ luck to get away with tricking them!’ Kuwabara thinks angrily, as his friends' burst of power explodes all around them.
Yusuke is trying to stop Hiei, and Kurama is trying to stop Toya.
He’s pissed that people keep shuffling him around, physically and emotionally. He’s even madder that apparently no one thinks he can be trusted to take care of himself. So they can keep Kuwabara out of the loop and feel fine by that, and now apparently he can be left out of a fight, that was about him.
No one can trust him with secrets, no one can trust that the can handle anything... is that it?
It's unfair. Hasn't he done enough to prove he's part of the team? He's with them? Is he just doomed to be left behind?
“I’m fucking done with this!” Kuwabara growls out, and steps out into the area where he feels his friends power the most. He kneels and presses glowing fingertips to the ground.
There’s a new technique he’s been trying to do with his spirit power. He got the idea from reading X-men comics in between study sessions. There’s a character, Gambit, who can put his mutation in cards, and when he throws them, they explode. He is dispersing his power so that it can be used in another way.
Kuwabara’s been wanting to try that.
He closes his eyes, and he can feel his friends’ presence much stronger than he could with his eyes open. Kurama and Genkai have said something about this making it easier for the third eye to open, or something like that. All Kuwabara knows is it works, and he pinpoints the quarreling demons with ease.
He splits his Jigen To into four, has it splits itself down his fingers. Kuwabara attaches more of his energy to the ends. Like needles and thread, he sends his splintered sword down into the ground, and cuts through the current dimension to disappear, and then reappear above his friends. The swords shoot down and loop his energy under one of their arms, and around their necks.
He pulls his energy taught.
It’s a hunting trick you use on clever animals, like raccoons, coyotes, and foxes. It forces them to have an arm up close and useless near the vulnerable part of their throat, while throwing the rest of their body off balance, forcing the panicked animal to try and not to lose balance, or choke. It is not enough to really stop or hurt his friends, but it’s enough of a bother, to get his friends’ attention, and separate them from the fight.
“Enough with this fucking bullshit!” Kuwabara says, his hand glowing as he pulls his energy tight, keeping his friends dangling from the string of his energy through the dimensions he had cut open.
All four of them, Kurama, Yusuke, Hiei, and Toya, look baffled, surprised, and impressed. They dangle like marionettes in the air.
Kuwabara is too pissed to feel flattered by their looks, “Stop pushing me aside! I can protect my damn self. And can take care of my own feelings too! And I’m not the only one. Yukina can handle her fucking self as well!”
He is mad for the both of them, but if he admits it, he’s also mad at himself.
“Look! Yukina fucking knows Hiei is her brother,” Kuwabara snaps, Kurama and Yusuke flinching in their caught snares. Toya looks confused, and Hiei’s lips purse tightly together.
“She just wants Hiei to be honest, and since all you assholes seem to know about it, but felt for some reason not to clue me in about it, I thought I’d fuck with you all and trick you into admitting it!” Kuwabara hotly confesses. He puts his free hand to the bridge of his nose and adds, “But apparently, at least from my guess, Hiei doesn’t really care that I know about him being Yukina’s brother, but for some fucking reason Yusuke and Kurama thought it’d be a great idea to keep it from big ol' dumb Kuwabara! So thanks for that, I love being the butt to everybody’s big fucking joke!”
Another nice thing about the snare Kuwabara has made, the energy is tight enough around their throats, that they are all struggling to speak. They can’t shout, and can only whisper, but for once, Kuwabara doesn’t wait for them to talk.
He talks over them.
“Toya! I’m sorry, but I’m a piece of shit, and I told these idiots I was going to your place this weekend, a lie, I thought would make them all nervous enough, to fucking fess up, because your crush on me has been a little... intense. I’m sorry. I’m a real asshole, I shouldn’t have done that. And it doesn’t matter that I didn’t think you’d show up out of the blue, the point is I was still willing to use your feeling to put pressure on my friends, and that was shitty of me! I’m not the type of person to come up with a plan to trick people into doing what I want. I should have done what I do!”
Kuwabara releases his powers, and his friends collapse to the ground, Yusuke making a startled yelp.
Kuwabara is breathing hard. That technique is harder than he thought it would be and took more out of him, than he thought. After a beat he growls, “I should have just told you guys I felt like you were being dicks, and keeping shit from me. And I don’t fucking know why. I don’t deserve it. And Yukina definitely doesn’t deserve it.”
Kuwabara turns towards Hiei, and opens his mouth. He can't bring himself to look at him or confess how he feels. Something he desperately wants to do at this moment. He clamps his mouth shut, and puts a hand over his face, his skin burning hot beneath his touch. Into his palm, he confesses, "I love you, Hiei." He didn't say it to Hiei, but at least its out, even if no one heard it.
Kuwabara is actually feeling like he might pass out, but he’ll be damned if he lets them see it.
Not waiting for any other answer, he cuts a portal open, beneath his feet and falls through it. He seals it, as he passes through it and lands on something wooden, which shatters. A chair most likely. He hisses, tears filling his eyes, as his foot turns under him. He’s twisted that pretty good and run out of energy, and maybe will really pass out. What a sorry state to be in, but Kuwabara decides he deserves it.
It's what he gets for trying to scheme. Karma.
He looks around and is relieved to see he at least came to where he wanted to be, and a second later, Yukina is running into the spare room of Genkai’s shrine. The place Kuwabara had wanted to go.
“Kazuma! Oh! Are you alright?”
Kuwabara is not alright. He’s a piece of shit, who feels like he used Toya’s feelings to play a trick on his friends, and it’s good that the stupid idea of his blew up in his face. He shouldn’t have done it.
Yukina’s hands are on his face, and only then Kuwabara realizes he’s crying.
“No.” He finally answers.
“I’ll heal you,” Yukina says gently, red eyes swimming with concern.
Kuwabara wishes they belonged to someone else.
“Don’t tell them I’m here?” He pleads as his head is lifted gently and cradled into her lap.
She doesn’t look like she understands, but promises him anyway.
Kuwabara nods, too tired to verbally thank her.
He goes to sleep.

I have a Naruto Fix-It(is that the term?) type thing I wanna work on, but I have no artistic talent, and I’m not super good at being articulate on the level that it is needed(even though I can write(like shit)). So, I’mma just put it here so I don’t eventually forget it like everything else. It’s quite long, so beware.
The premise is that there’s these two actual immortals that are brothers named Akiara and Akuma that have been around before Kaguya but after the beings that started the world. Akiara refers to Kaguya as a crazy woman that became obsessed with energy(chakra) and life, but decided energy was worth more.
Akiara and Akuma were tasked with basically documenting life forever and always by creatures that began the world. All Lands and main villages, unknowingly, set up where these creatures rule or lay dormant. Land of Fire has a creature that lives in Nara Forest and is a giant deer/tree creature, for example.
The brothers were also told to interfere with life as little as possible, but if things happened, they happened.
All was well before Akuma started to lose himself because everyone they knew, would die and they would just have to move on. He started to hate being immortal and went off, leaving Akiara to search for answers.
Akuma eventually came back after years(into the 100s) when he found out only an immortal can kill an immortal. His intent was to kill both him and his brother to ease their pain. Akiara was left with a scar on the left side of his face, neck and shoulder. And Akuma was trapped underground.
After their fight, Akiara kept away from the place he left his brother and continued to document the world, which included maps and the changes they had every 100 years or so.
Akiara saw the creation of the Tailed Beast. He treated them like they were pets and loved on them a lot. Especially Kurama(and he hasn’t forget the face squishing Akiara gave him). Though he’s devastated at how they were used, he just had to move on.
He saw all the wars. And the Fourth Great Ninja War, he spent napping in a cave because he assumed it would be handled and he really hates Kaguya. He actually woke up after the war had ended, Kakashi was Hokage, Naruto had his new arm and decided it was time to check on the Nara Creature . He then goes on an adventure around the world with the original nine genin and Sai on orders of Kakashi and agreements of Akiara.
Powers of Akiara and Akuma:
Both are basically made of chakra(energy), so when they are hurt, it heals almost instantly. A severed hand, will go back on. Blood will go back in.
They both can solidify chakra in their hands, or really anywhere. Akiara has a hilt of a sword that has a spike with holes in it so he can put it into his hand. The energy(chakra) from his body goes through the spike and he can form whatever weapon he wants, it’s usually just a sword with a small spike as a pommel.
Akuma doesn’t have to patience for the sword, so he lashes out with waves of either solidified chakra or the energy of it and messes up other people’s chakra.
Akiara has mastered energy(chakra) sensing, mainly as a way to keep track of Akuma, but also to find the Creatures around the world. He uses it sparingly though because when using it, it always grabs attention of strong ninja and they don’t like the amount of chakra he emits and attack. Both he and Akuma use the energy(chakra) they have to manipulate the elements, so they don’t have a limited Nature Transformation.
Akuma has become a very powerful genjutsu user. Akuma kills innocent people to ‘stop them from the pain of living and knowing’ and his genjutsu is powerful enough to erase the person’s existence. Even written documentation or photo evidence. He does this to protect the people he hasn’t killed(in his mind, saved) from knowing their friend or family has died.
Both of them are unaffected by genjutsus of any kind. Including Sharingan induced ones.
They both have this ability, Akuma stopped using it, but Akiara has scrolls and scrolls of maps of the world. He seals the scrolls with his blood(that’s mixed with chakra/energy) and it tracks what he sees and it’s created from the sight.
Not a power or ability, but Akiara sleeps for years at a time because of boredom or not wanting to be involved with things. Akuma will do the same if his insanity because too much for him.
The Creatures of the World:
The Creatures or Beings are the ones that created the world. The land, water, life, air, all of it. They reside in every country and usually a main village or near it. The reason people flock to those places is because of the subconsciousness of The Creatures pulling them close.
When Akiara seeks them out, he lets them see what has happened in the world. Anyone that has set foot on the land of that Creature, Akiara lets them see their entire life. Akiara(and Akuma) are the things that tie the Creatures to each other and humans, that’s the reason they need them.
While sharing the information and memories of everyone, a dome forms over a wide area around them. Anyone caught in the dome will also see the lives of everyone Akiara is sharing. But time flows weird in the dome and it’s not visible from the outside.
The time flow in the dome is, everything stops existing for a short time as the memories and information is shared. While everything outside continues, but extremely slowly, though it goes unnoticed. When the dome is down, time and life continues as it should.
Land of Fire’s Creature is a giant deer/tree like being that lives in the Nara Clan Forest. When Akiara is searching for them, they like messing with him by jumping through trees(not exactly physically, but they’ll move trees). Basically playing hide and seek with Akiara.
Land of Wind’s Creature is a giant sea turtle that swims through the sands. The Land of Winds started out with plenty of rain and water, but humans had caused it to dry up. The Creature couldn’t follow the water, so they now swim in the sands. They live in the Demon Desert primarily, but they’ll swim where they wants. They try to out swim Akiara when he comes looking for them. Basically playing tag.
Land of Lighting’s Creature is a giant albino tiger that jumps through the lighting storms that plague the country. Though he lazes about in the Valley of Clouds and Lighting at the tops of the mountains a lot. His stripes look similar to lighting strikes. When Akiara comes looking for him, he creates very harsh thunderstorms for Akiara to travel through for fun. It’s up to Akiara to figure out the pattern of the lighting strikes to get through. Basically a harsh game of hopscotch.
Land of Sound’s Creature is a giant glasswing butterfly that blends in with the paddy fields that is all over the land. The glasswings of the Creature looks like paddy fields, so it’s not that hard for them to blend in. Their wings when revealed glow with energy(chakra). While Orochimaru had their evil control of the land The Creature actually felt for them since Orochimaru was always changing who they were, as a butterfly does. And the Creature believed Orochimaru would eventually become beautiful(or good). Akiara works the paddy fields for the Creature to show itself. The Creature wants Akiara to feel normal for just a little while.
Land of Earth’s Creature is a giant gorilla/stone that lives in the rocky mountain range that borders the country. The Creature doesn’t mind being seen, though not many people can manage the mountains to find her. When Akiara comes to find her, she makes him fight her. They can’t do much damage to each other and she says it’s a test. But the Creature just misses people and wants the moment to last as long as possible.
Land of Iron’s Creature is actually a giant lion/ice being that wanders around the land. He’s pretty solitary, but when shinobi do enter the land, he’ll go move closer to the samurai’s to protect them. He doesn’t trust shinobi, the same as the samurai. The snow masks his presences even if he’s standing over the samurai. When Akiara comes looking for him, he’ll meet him close to the edge. Even though Akiara is necessary and apart(and made by) the Creature, he still doesn’t trust Akiara not to attack the samurai.
Land of Snow’s Creature is a giant polar bear that keeps life flowing through the land through it’s heat. It fire and heat in it’s core and it’s the reason people are still alive in the cold temperature. It lives in the mountains, close to Yukigakure, to make sure they stay warm enough and alive. It stays in the mountain cave when Akiara is looking for it because it wants to make sure the people will stay warm.
Land of Water’s Creature is a giant sea serpent that swims around the islands that make up the country. She becomes extreme agitated when there’s war going on in her land, which happens often in the Land of Water. She’s the only Creature to actively influence the people that live in the land. If her people were going to war, they will war. She caused the people to commit the purges of those with kekkei genkai. Her anger wasn’t aimed at them, but the people reacted to her anger that way. She makes Akiara through each island and help her people in anyway until she’ll appear before him.
Amegakure’s Creature is a giant three-eyed cat that lives at the bottom of the lake surrounding the village. They sleep often, as cats do, but their third eye is always open to keep watch. The wars that tore their country apart and the civil war is the reason they live at the bottom of the lake. The Creature’s people wouldn’t stop fighting, and neither would the people around them, so they hid. They had interest in Yahiko, Konan and Nagato until Yahiko’s death. They don’t like to see Akiara because he shares the knowledge of the world being terrible, but the small amount of good memories share is the reason they’ll go to Akiara when he’s nearby.
Takigakure’s Creature is a giant snake that lives in the branches of the tree that Takigakure is build around. The Creature accidentally involves itself with the people with it’s venom. Their venom is mixed into the tree, making the air of the village tainted, but nonlethal. Instead, the venom infects the people with immense power and chakra(energy), which causes the village to have very strong shinobi. The Creature is one of the hardest to get to for Akiara because of Takigakure’s volatile nature, so the Creature often reaches out as a branch to help Akiara to get to them.
Yugakure’s Creature is a giant poison dart frog that swims through the hot springs that is all around the country. They were actually the cause of the Chinoike Clan existence. The eyes and the ability to affect blood(actually iron) are from them. This Creature is also accidentally involved with their land. Causing Chinoike Clan directly because of The Valley of Hell(it’s poison) and the creation of Hidan’s immortality. The poison from the Creature caused random bouts of anger and instability of the people of Yugakure(again, Chinoike Clan) that led them to rituals, experiments and sacrifice when Yugakure was still military led. The Creature’s poison no longer affects the people after The Valley of Hell was forbidden, so the country is safe for tourist and villagers. Akiara gets to relax in the hot springs when looking for The Creature, much to the Creature’s enjoyment.
The Adventure and the Original Nine(&Sai):
Naruto, Sasuke, Kiba, Shikamaru, Sakura, Sai and Hinata all sense Akiara when he uses his energy(chakra) sense to find The Creature in Nara Clan Forest. They all go to him because of the extremely high levels of the chakra, led by Hinata who can see a trail that was somehow left behind.
They all get caught in the dome after Akiara explained as best he could at what’s happening. It helped he didn’t try to attack, even with being attacked. They all saw everyone’s lives, including secrets that they kept close to themselves.
After a few minutes of shouting and fighting between everyone except Akiara and The Creature, The Creature thanks Shikamaru and his family for protecting their forest and gives him a power as a even more of a thanks. It leaves a mark of antlers on Shikamaru’s forehead, that fades away. It’s up to Shikamaru to figure out what it is. The Creature tells them that Kakuzu was brought back to life and Hidan was put back together, because they had something to do.
But after this, they go see Kakashi to explain, or try to explain what’s happening. This is the first time this level of care has been given to Akiara while being questioned, so he just goes with it.
After a clearer explanation, Kakashi asks if it’s okay if he sends people with Akiara to watch over and also try to keep more secrets to the people themselves. After seeing the list of people Kakashi approves of going, Akiara wants to take them all, for them, and for the possibility that The Creature wouldn’t mind seeing more people. And possibly their human counterparts.
They meet Yamato along the way and he travels with them to see the Creatures.
The Creatures and the Human Counterparts(No explanation being told for now):
Land of Fire’s Creature and Shikamaru Nara. Land of Wind’s Creature and Choji Akimichi. Land of Lightning’s Creature and Naruto Uzumaki. Land of Sound’s Creature and Shino Aburame. Land of Earth’s Creature and Sakura Haruno. Land of Iron’s Creature and Sasuke Uchiha. Land of Snow’s Creature and Kiba Inuzuka. Land of Water’s Creature and Ino Yamanaka Amegakure’s Creature and Hinata Hyuga. Takigakure’s Creature and Sai. Yugakure’s Creature and Yamato.

Nostalgia Rewatch: Yu Yu Hakusho S01E25
The one brother shifts into a sword, while the strong brother gets ripped... although I feel like having insane muscles AND a sword just seems like overkill. Anyway, the guy attacks Kuwabara, and sends him flying with a punch to the gut. Yusuke then sneaks up behind the guy and tries to blast him with his spirit gun while he's distracted with Kuwabara, but he's too quick for that. He easily jumps out of the way. Not to be deterred, Yusuke fires his shotgun at him, but then he...??? Deflects the blasts with his bulging pecs? Not quite sure what happened there, only just that it was never really explained. Yusuke then tries to get super close and blast the guy's face off, but his brother transformed into a shield faster than Yusuke could process. This leads to the brother beating the shit out of both Yusuke and Kuwabara, while Botan stands hopelessly, only just screaming out their names. The rich guys chortle over this.
In the spirit world, Koenma is worried, because he says he knows those brothers, but won't elaborate much past that. Kurama says that he's worried, and they all wonder where Hiei has gotten off to, since he had been following the three of them pretty closely up until they went into the house. Kurama says that he can't just sit by and do nothing, so he's going to go down there, and only just hopes that he's not too late.
Meanwhile, Hiei is inside, and has taken out some of the first line of guards. Although I'm sure that with everything else going on, it's just a skeleton crew at the moment.
The rich guy commands Yukina to watch closely. She then manages to reconnect to Kuwabara, and shows him some memories. Of when she first was captured, and the rich guy had these demonic seals that would burn her if they touched her; he used them to torture her. Then, some time later, there was a guard working for the guy who felt pity for Yukina, and wanted to help her to escape. When they tried, they were found out, and the man was murdered in front of Yukina.
The thought of all that Yukina's been through fills Kuwabara with a fighting rage, and he literally starts to glow with power. This surprises the brother, but he continues to scoff. Once again, Kuwabara goes to attack, but for the second time, he's rewarded with a powerful punch to the gut and goes flying. He lands near Yusuke and Botan, and asks Yusuke for a favor. We don't get to hear what it is, because we cut to the rich guys chortling some more over what's happening, and the rich man ordering that the brothers finish this.
Kuwabara then goes charging for the brother again, but just then, Yusuke shoots him in the back with his spirit gun, which propels Kuwabara forward fast enough that he's able to slip through the brother's defenses and stab him in the gut. But, the blast was enough to insanely injure Kuwabara, as you might imagine.
The rich guys all laugh over this, and call the rich guy bankrupt, because he just lost 72 trillion yen... Which is just about everything that the man owns. But he's not too worried, because he still has Yukina, and with her tear-jewels, he'll soon have enough all over again.
Meanwhile, Hiei apparently made his way to where the rich guy was holding Yukina. He quickly and easily dispatches the remaining human guards, and all that's left is the rich guy. He begs Hiei that they can split the money, but Hiei just starts wailing on the guy. Below, Botan notices this going on, and warns that Hiei will be a criminal if he kills a human. AND HE WASN'T A CRIMINAL BEFORE?!
But it's not Yusuke yelling at him to stop that makes him pause... it's Yukina. She grabs his arm and begs him to stop. Hiei asks if this is not the man who caused you so much suffering? Yes, but that doesn't mean that I want to see any more suffering... especially not on my behalf. And Hiei really loves his sister, because he stops. Yukina then asks who Hiei is, but he only just says that he's a friend of the others. This draws Yukina's attention down to the arena, and she runs down there. Hiei then chides Kurama for lurking in the shadows; talk about showing up 15 minutes late without Starbucks!
Yukina runs into the arena, where she goes over to Kuwabara to try to heal him, although her powers aren't that great. Yusuke and Botan sneak away while she's doing that. Kuwabara tells Yukina that not al humans are as evil and wicked as the people who'd held her captive, so give us a chance. She says that she's rather fond of some of them.

Shell Game (6/?)
Kei lays down the law, and the law is promptly picked up again and used as a bludgeon.
In what was clearly becoming a pattern, the third day of term was the worst yet.
It started fine. Everything started fine. Days always looked like they were going to shape up perfectly normal and mean Kei would just have to make it through an endurance test masquerading as a high school education. Sure, Obito was in the building with his security pass practically nailed to his eyepatch, waiting for trouble, but it honestly seemed like the day was going to be normal for like a minute or two.
Kayama-sensei was in the middle of taking homeroom attendance when the note arrived, demanding Kei’s presence.
“Four for four,” commented some kid diagonally to Kei’s left.
“That’s our Gen Studies problem child,” grumbled someone else.
Kei debated flipping them off, but that would be pointless. She left her school bag—but not her cell phone—in the room as she trotted wordlessly out of 1-C. Maybe she should save everyone’s time and just start messing with the school uniform so people would write her off as a delinquent. The longer skirt would be a pain, though…
But when Kei arrived, Obito was alone in the principal’s office in full ANBU uniform, complete with the Crane mask. Without his bright smile, the shadows in the room emphasized his height and the faint red glow of his single Sharingan.
Well, shit.
“That guy triggered the beacon seal.” Obito threw a parcel of clothes, topped with a mask, at Kei. “I let the principal know, but the teachers can’t teleport. Come on.”
Kei took Obito’s right hand and found herself in the thin air of the Kamui pocket dimension, and immediately changed into the ANBU uniform. Her mask, marked up more in line with Isobu’s features, slotted into place last, and she folded up her school uniform to store it out of the way.
“I didn’t go look yet,” Obito said, as he joined her in the land of cubes and pillars. “But uh, if you wanna just V2 and launch that way…”
I vote for that option.
…Y’know, so do I.
With that, Kei reached down into her chakra coils and put a figurative hand against Isobu’s much larger one. Isobu’s face might not have been able to smile, but Kei could feel his power thrumming eagerly at her fingertips. The past few days of petty insults and forced inactivity grated on his nerves, too. Kei didn’t even need to put her request into words before Isobu was raring to go.
Kei vanished under the crimson chakra cloak. Her stance changed entirely, becoming hunched as though the sudden spectral shell across her back was weighing her down. Two blood-red spiked tails trailed from the base, and her head was replaced by a blank-eyed face with a glowing mouth full of conical spike-teeth, half-hidden by blunt horns arranged in a crown. Between the armor plates half-manifested on her arms and the bulk of Isobu’s shell, there was no way she’d be pegged as a disheveled high school student.
Obito raised a hand to his mask, framing the round eyehole he actually used. With his other fist, he gave her a cheery thumbs-up. “Okay. I’ve got a lock, but you’re going through first. Don’t get hurt before I get there!”
Kei, though it was distorted heavily by echoey overlay from Isobu, definitely laughed. The shockwave from the transformation could still be contained by Kamui, at least. Nothing else about her would be.
Obito laughed, too. As a rip in space-time formed in midair, he shouted, “Fire in the hole!”
Kei dove through, and was immediately surrounded by a whole mob of villains.
This is what we call a target-rich environment.
Yep!
This situation was, it had to be said, because Obito only knew where Aizawa-sensei had been when the Bat-Signal went up. He’d told her he didn’t know what the inside of this wannabe Sapporo Dome would be like, and Kei knew introducing a pissed off jinchūriki had a way of making all the nearby problems rethink their priorities.
To emphasize that, the fanged jaw dropped open and let loose a battle cry that sent several of the still-standing villains scurrying.
Chickenface McMuscles snarled back, sounding like someone had stomped on his throat. Pinned and apparently unconscious underneath him was Aizawa-sensei, one arm thoroughly mangled in a hand the size of a human torso. There was blood all over the floor, too, and Kei was willing to bet that most of it was his.
Not good.
Later, Kei would find some humor in the situation once she learned how the villains had made their dastardly entrance. Teleporting seventy-odd villains and a giant chicken-faced monster into a building filled with civilian children (no matter their Quirks) to bait out and kill the Symbol of Peace was quite an evil plan. Aizawa-sensei and Thirteen wouldn’t have been enough to hold the line alone, because if nothing else Chickenface McMuscles was a heavy hitter.
And all of that was being countered by teleporting another inhuman monster into the building.
Kei lowered her head like a bull, keeping both the big monster and his beanpole accomplice in line of sight. In the moment, she had her priorities. Civilians, allies, and neutral parties needed to be saved. And the fastest way to do that was to take the rest of Brainiac’s head off his bulging shoulders.
“Go, Nōmu,” said the guy in the back field, and the creature attacked as dutifully as a Pokémon.
Kei dropped onto all fours just in time to take Nōmu’s offhand punch square on her chakra shell. The concrete beneath her hands and feet buckled, whether she transferred the impact fully or not, but then Kei’s two available tails looped around Nōmu’s wrists before traveling up his arms. Ten-centimeter spikes dug into the jet-black skin, seeking muscle and bone.
Kei punched it in the face with Isobu’s chakra behind the blow. And a second, and a third, being sure to aim at eyes, jaw, and exposed brain.
Nōmu snarled back as though she hadn’t just unloaded strikes strong enough to toss a pickup truck like a tin can, broken teeth bared.
Rasengan?
On it.
Two glowing blue spheres bloomed in and outside of Nōmu’s arms, and they both exploded. Bone crumbled. Blood flew. With a pair of wet thuds, chunks of Nōmu slammed into the concrete and Kei tossed the remnants contemptuously aside.
The creature staggered backward, unbalanced even before Kei formed a third Rasengan on the tip of one of the tails and slammed it into the beak like a bastardized uppercut. Blood spurted from each shattered upper arm, but erratically. It probably had some kind of physical enhancement beyond the norm to survive those, but Kei was already springing forward to cut the big guy off from Aizawa-sensei—
Nōmu promptly sprouted two new lower arms from the stumps. Flesh and bone creaked as the creature snapped back to normal as though they’d been shoved through a Play-Doh mold. The enthusiastic spaghetti kind.
What the fuck, Kei thought, even as she roared a new challenge at the now-recovered enemy.
That does not seem like it follows conservation of mass.
Not the time, Isobu!
Nōmu charged, and Kei slammed her twinned tails into the ground as an anchor so she could meet it.
“Don’t you know using cheats is against the rules?” hissed the beanpole behind the bulky black mountain. He was scratching frantically at his throat, visible red eye wild behind his…mask. “Especially against bosses!”
Kei snapped her fingers inside her head. While Isobu amused himself by making their fake jaws drool spontaneously-created water, Kei said, It’s Creeper! Only, damn, maybe I should’ve named him Facepalm.
It is as deliberate as ours. Isobu sent the manifested tails curling over Kei’s back, like a scorpion’s. You drive.
A punch glanced off her shell, only to be met by a neat judo flip to smash his exposed brainpan into concrete. Out of reach of Aizawa or anyone else, because Kei did have some situational awareness.
Hopefully he wouldn’t get his other arm removed by Facepalm-kun before Obito came back.
“Nōmu, kill it!”
Nōmu was fast, Kei would give it that. But Gekkō Keisuke, jinchūriki to Isobu the Three-Tailed Beast, had been trained for combat by the fucking Yellow Flash. She sparred with Maito Gai as a hobby. She got schooled by Uzumaki Kushina and Kurama once a week, had been raised alongside the strongest Uchiha of the current generation, fought with the scion of the Hatake clan, and was nobody’s mere stepping stone.
If Facepalm-kun and Nōmu thought they were going to kill anyone here, they were about to learn the most painful lesson Kei could dole out: total defeat.
Kei and Nōmu didn’t trade punches. Kei had already seen how that worked out, and whatever bullshit he could do with kinetic energy wasn’t her problem when she had so many other options. So while Nōmu bounced blow after blow off the Isobu-derived shell, sending shockwaves rippling through the air after each hit, Kei dug in with every scrap of control she possessed.
A water bubble gathered on the tip of the left tail of the chakra cloak, slamming forward into Nōmu’s face. Instead of exploding or grinding his skull into meat paste, the water engulfed Nōmu’s beaked head whole. The tail-tip had to stay embedded, even in such a small water prison, but Kei slammed her hand up and into the globe to get to work.
Even if chakra scalpels weren’t Kei’s forte, V2 meant she could choke Nōmu into submission by jamming coral down his throat.
“So annoying,” muttered Facepalm-kun, finally audible without Nōmu’s croaking cries polluting the air.
Three o’clock.
I see him. Kei grinned under the V2 cloak.
But just as Isobu redirected the other tail to pulverizing Facepalm-kun’s ribs like she’d promised, the villain snapped a hand out like a snake and wrapped his fingers around it before it could strike him.
This was—out of all available tactical decisions—probably not the worst idea in context. It just wasn’t good.
Facepalm-kun hissing in pain and backed off almost as soon as five fingers settled onto the whirling energy waveform. Sure, he’d disintegrated the outermost coating of the V2 cloak fairly well, which accomplished jack and shit. As Isobu laughed in Kei’s head, she saw the chakra flake away only to a) reveal absolutely nothing underneath it and b) instantly reform, because the V2 cloak was only a shape. There was no candy in the middle of this piñata.
The V2 cloak had as nasty of a tendency of dissolving human flesh as Facepalm-kun’s hands did. And it seemed like Facepalm had just withered all the skin off his hand. So much for fingerprinting.
Whoops for him.
And then Isobu whipped out the third tail and punched Facepalm-kun in the ribs with a manifested fist. He fell back with a shocked wheeze, doubling over before Isobu could bat his head off his shoulders.
Nōmu punched Kei in the head at this point, which at least kept her from dying of laughter in the meantime. Black knuckles split on one of Kei’s energy horns, but the blow was weaker than before. Apparently, breathing through calcified sea life wasn’t a Quirk here.
A quiet ping on her chakra sense meant Obito was back, though it seemed to have taken him a while. He was way up on the entrance platform, though.
Then a guy made of black mist was hurled like a sack of potatoes into the central area, because that was just what Kei needed today. More villains.
And at that point, Facepalm-kun lurched back upright. Despite his busted ribs and the fact that his pet science experiment was clearly being suffocated, Kei heard him say, “Dammit. No All Might, Nōmu’s losing to some cheating freak, and no dead kids…yet.” He eyed the Darkest Fog Cloud. “Kurogiri… What happened?”
“I…one of them got away.”
“If you weren’t so important, I’d kill you.”
No honor among child-killers, apparently.
Did you notice?
Did I notice what? Kei grumped, as Nōmu’s struggling started to slow.
Isobu sent her a snapshot of the nearby pool and the craters around it, including three fifteen-year-olds trying to sneak Aizawa-sensei away from the fight Kei had well in hand. One frog girl, one purple kid about half anybody’s height, and…dammit, that was Midoriya. Well, this would make any conversation tomorrow awkward, at least on Kei’s part.
Oh wait shit—
Several things happened at once:
Facepalm-kun lunged for the frog girl, at a speed she clearly hadn’t been trained to react to. Even if she had, she was carrying Aizawa-sensei.
Isobu sent the spare tail spiraling after Facepalm-kun’s leg with full intent of ripping it off at the knee—
Midoriya crackled with red lines of energy, backed by green, and threw a punch directly for Facepalm-kun in sheer terror—
Nōmu’s eyes bulged comically and he ripped himself out of Kei’s grip, leaving most of his throat and half of his upper chest behind—
Isobu roared through Kei’s mouth, briefly thwarted—
Aizawa-sensei snapped awake with his eyes glowing red and hair flying around his head, the exact second Facepalm-kun’s hand touched the frog girl’s face—
Nōmu practically teleported into place directly between Facepalm-kun and the punch that might’ve decapitated a person and grabbed Midoriya’s arm—
—And in the half-a-heartbeat of heartstopping terror, Facepalm-kun had just enough time to chuckle ruefully, saying, “You’re pretty cool, Eraserhe—”
And then a lot of other things happened at once:
Obito warped in and jammed a kunai into the hand acting as Facepalm-kun’s mask, fourteen meters of wood springing out of his arm entirely on reflex and forcing the villain away from the kids before he got horribly impaled even more—
Kei whipped all three tails around and shaved huge chunks out of the backs of Nōmu’s legs and spine before digging into his exposed brain with her projected form’s teeth—
Midoriya yanked Aizawa-sensei and frog girl and short kid away, still sparking wildly until he collapsed on broken legs almost twenty meters off—
—And, finally, the doors to the building flew off their hinges in a single mighty blow and landed in the open area where all this brawling had been going on.
“HAVE NO FEAR, STUDENTS.”
Uh-oh.
“FOR I AM HERE!”
Obito’s head jerked up, Sharingan aglow, and he made a very clear hand signal for Retreat amid all the branches he’d just made. And if nothing else, Kamui would keep him in the clear to explain shit to the teachers where Kei’s chakra-cloaked mouth would have some trouble.
“Finally…” hissed Facepalm-kun. “All Might—”
Kei would have probably been happy to follow Obito’s lead, even if Nōmu was annoying. Things were going fine. It was probably time to fall back.
She didn’t really get a choice, because two hundred kilos of bunny-haired superhero proceeded to punch her through the roof. Had Kei been hit on Isobu’s projected shell, like Nōmu had been doing with all the persistence of someone who didn’t know any better, she could have nullified the hit.
Not so much when she was nearly uppercutted.
“WHAT THE FUCK, ALL MIGHT?!” Obito’s voice screeched, just to add a cherry on top of this gigantic screwup.
Somehow, Kei thought while careening through the air, I don’t think the principal filled in all the faculty about us. Or even me.
What was your first hint?
The brand new cracked ribs, now that she thought about it. Kei set her head back in the dirt as the V2 cloak faded a bit. All in a day’s work.

Note
Alot of people draw parallels between Kurama and Kurapika, Hiei and Killua, Yusuke and Gon, Kuwabara and Leorio But no one comments on how Karasu is this weird hybrid of Ilumi and Hisoka. ( Also Sensui and Chrollo)
Wish I could help you there, but I only saw I think two seasons? Maybe one season. *shrugs* I could never get into Hunter x Hunter. I have a few theories for why, I think, but it’s all super subjective. One of my friends is the exact opposite, obsessed with HxH and unable to enjoy Yu Yu Hakusho.
If you are a fan of HxH, I strongly advise you don’t read this. These are my personal opinions on why I cannot stand the show, not a detailed analysis of the show itself or objective view of its merit. Will be under cut.
Also I am sleep deprived and potentially tipsy so this will likely not be coherent. *finger guns*
Anyway, for me, HxH always felt… too on the nose? Too Naruto-like, in a way? Here, meet Gon, he’s a super nice and friendly dude, but oh no, he has a tragic past because his dad is missing… And now he wants to be just like his dad, who is missing, so why is he emulating a dude he doesn’t know? And here, meet Killua, he’s a psychopath and he’s like 10. Instead of getting this kid a therapist the older characters around him are going to encourage him to go kill people. Oh yes, these children are also murderers. Meet Kurapika, the Kurama of the group, who is also a bishie, is low-key scary, intelligent, caring, and also has a tragic past! Yay… And Leorio… I confess I don’t know shit about him. But he probably has a tragic past.
Okay, I am probably being too harsh on this show. I know it’s beloved by many people. But the constant pushing of “tragic!! So sad!!” and “child murder! Yay!” Is just not my cup of tea.
YYH did this way better, in my opinion. The tragedy is there, but it’s layered on slowly. Hiei, who arguably has one of the most tragic childhoods a shonen character ever experienced, doesn’t actually tell us what happened to him until the show is almost over. We get to learn who he is, what makes him tick, we get to love him, ponder about his past, get invested. Then we are given the sad. But HxH is like Naruto in the fact that it just shoves it into our face, as if to say, “hey, this character had a bad childhood, you should feel sorry for them and love them.” I just hate that.
And Gon… that friendly optimism is just… weird? He feels 2-d to me, not like a real child. Whereas the imperfect Yusuke acts exactly as you’d expect a child in his position to act. He has daddy issues because he never had a father. He has issues with authority because his mother was awful and he never felt safe or comforted by the adults around him. He gravitates towards male role models and at the same time rejects them. He respects only one authority, Genkai, because she is the first adult who taught him what he found useful. His kindness, his empathy, all that is earned. When Yusuke tells Genkai he cares about her, when he cries over her death, we believe it and we feel it, because we saw what he was like when he didn’t care, when he didn’t have an adult to turn to. It’s like a child that had been neglected all his life who was suddenly thrust into a foster home or an orphanage where one cranky lady is done with life, so she’s honest and raw and doesn’t throw platitudes into his face, and he respects that. He gravitates to it the same way 9th grade students do to the teacher who uses swear words in class and isn’t afraid to show the Romeo and Juliet movie that has the *gasp* boobie in it. His relationship with Genkai is realistic and earned, and genuine like crazy, and when he mourns her, the first and only adult he respected, loved, and felt safe with, we all mourn with him…
But Gon? I don’t know. He just put me off from the start. He doesn’t seem to have a reason for being so damn friendly. He doesn’t seem to act like a normal human being at all. He’s just this weird 2-d cartoon that tries to kill with kindness and be just like his missing dad instead of, ya know, doing the realistic thing and having a complicated relationship with him. Like, Yusuke doesn’t hate Atsuko. But he sure does blame her for lots of things. I can interject my own childhood here, because my feelings toward family are also complicated. I know the “missing parent” thing really well because my parents lived in a different county for half of my childhood, and I can tell you, while I understood why they did it, and loved them, and appreciated with all my heart the sacrifices they made… I still did, and still do, blame them for robbing me of a normal childhood. Of robbing me of a relationship with them. Of robbing me of that mother-daughter best friend dynamic, of being able to tell them all my secrets and feel like they’re part of my life and not just distant parental figures I respect and love the way the religious love and respect their gods. And Yusuke is the same. His relationships with all the adults in his life, even some of the other kids, are complicated and layered and realistic. He knows his mother had a raw dealing having him at what, 15? But he also blames her for not doing more… Hiei, how does he feel, knowing that his mother died, instead of leaving the Glacier Village during her pregnancy or right after birth to go look for him? How does he feel knowing she stayed there, and died there? It wasn’t her fault. She was heartbroken, she was exhausted from giving birth, and she was weak and scared and alone… it’s even implied she committed suicide. And if she did, don’t you think Hiei might still feel complicated about it? Don’t you think he might feel like she should have been stronger, for him, for this small child that didn’t deserve his fate? She should have lived and left the village and searched for him! She should have looked even if she knew he was dead, if nothing else then to bury him! That’s the sort of thoughts I bet once ran through his mind…
But Gon? Nothing. Just… love for mom and idealizing dad. It’s boring, unrealistic, and I hate it.
Killua, my friend’s favorite shonen character (if not favorite anime character) of all time is literally one of my least favorite, and the only character I might have liked, Kurapika, was clearly ripping off of Kurama, whip and all included. So I just could never finish the show.
As for the Karasu question, technically, he came first, so those other characters are based on him. But from what I did actually see of Hisoka… he’s like an evil pedo (right?? I heard something like that??) clown. That’s what he is. How is he threatening? This isn’t even a rhetorical question. Creepy, maybe. But I’d just feel slightly uneased by him and then call the police if he came near me. If Karasu had his eyes on me like he did on Kurama, I’d probably shit my pants, let’s be real.
Karasu was a sadist. He was thrilled by the “intimacy between murderer and victim.” And the scariest shit of all? You can sorta understand him. When you murder someone, you are the only person in the world to see what happens to them. You have complete control over that person. You are their god, deciding if they are worthy of life or death. It’s an urge you can theorize about, can talk about, can even understand to a degree. But Hisoka? He uh, wears clown clothes and chases Gon? Or something? He makes scary faces? Karasu doesn’t have to even show his face to be terrifying. He just has to talk about his hobbies and his beliefs. Hell, the moment she shows up you feel something is up. I saw Hisoka like, at least 10 times and I still don’t know shit bout him. Karasu had like, 3-4 speaking scenes and they all made him fucking scarier with each one. I felt like each scene with Hisoka added absolutely zero to the show. Not to mention how fucking slow it was…
I feel like having a character target your young protagonist and make creepy faces at them is just lazy. Dude is, and I know Naruto came after, but that’s the show I saw first and actually know a thing or two about (till whenever shippuden started). So dude is just like Orochimaru. Now I was never scared of that guy, I just thought he was a total creeper. To me, there were way scarier moments. Hell, even Gaara’s brother, when he like, trapped a guy inside a puppet and then blood dripped out? Was that him? Anyway, that moment was way freakier than anything Orochimaru did. Karasu’s like 3 scenes were way more psychologically scary than all of Orochimaru’s scenes put together. And I got the same vibe from Hisoka as Orochimaru. The, he’s creepy and these kids should definitely find an adult asap, and not “holy fuck that’s a mass kidnapper/rapist/torturer/murderer and holy hell I am fascinated and also terrified and holy shit Kurama run run run!”
*shrugs* Karasu is honestly probably the scariest villain in YYH, too. Only because he enjoys torture and murder, and he explains why. And the explanation makes fucking sense and its so terrifying that I can’t
and he also doesn’t look like a clown. That’s a major plus. I’m not and never will be scared of clowns. Like… its a clown. Its colorful and does weird shit. How is that scary? No, demonic looking motherfuckers with long ass ink black hair and eyes that glow purple with glee at the thought of ripping blood curling screams out of someone in front of a giant ass audience, and lamenting that they wish they could fucking keep him and I dont know fucking fuck his corpse is that what he meant cause holy fuck!??!
Anyway, Karasu gives me nightmares and I love him and I don’t care for HxH and I need sleep and love you all very much please don’t hate me for disliking this show I really did give it like, three separate chances. *shrugs*

DISCLAIMER: I do not own Yu Yu Hakusho, it is owned by Yoshihiro Togashi.
NOTE: I may not gender-bend this after all.
FATE HAS IT
Part 2
The Reikai Tantei had made it to limbo, better known by Koenma as THE SHADOW DIMENSION.
The four had gotten there with the use of Kuwabara's Dimension Sword, the psychic having immediately sealed the portal shut after their arrival. Instead of going astral, they had jumped through portals, Kuwabara having gotten a better hang of summon the Jigen Tō at will.
Once there, they were engulfed in darkness in a matter of seconds. The surrounding dark was mucky and hot as they all fell into what felt like water but upon later realization stunk like death.
Yusuke called out to his teammates, calling for them one by one after he stood up in the liquid that was nearly knee deep on his body. He continued to call his friends until a bright light appeared, shining in his eyes.
Kurama stood before him, holding one of his plants that glowed as brightly as a torch. "I'm right here, Yusuke... but it's the other two I'm more concerned about."
"What? What happened?" Yusuke questioned, worried now himself.
"Nothing that I know of, yet." Kurama answered. "We best find them quickly."
As the two trekked onward, Yusuke began to gripe. "Koenma should have named this place Satan's Anus. It's pitch black as fuck and it stinks in here! And what is this liquid shit?"
"Do you really wish to know?" Kurama asked Yusuke who gave him a definite yes. "It's blood and semen."
"Wait? WHAT?!" Yusuke exclaimed as he jumped a bit. "Semen? Are you serious?"
"Yes, I read a file on it." Kurama replied. "The purpose here is humiliation. The blood is likewise their own blood... It's to serve as a constant reminder."
"Yeah, I get the picture." Yusuke responded.
Meanwhile...
Hiei and Kuwabara were in the darkness together.
"Man, this place smells really bad." Kuwabara commented.
"Too much for you?" Hiei snided.
"Tch. N-no!" Kuwabara counteracted before using his own spirit energy as a source of light. By doing so, Kuwabara appeared angelic-like, his pompadour gone due having been ruined when his hair got soaked.
Hiei stared at him, seeming to be mesmerized.
Kuwabara, having felt the fire demons eyes on him, looked down at him. "What?"
Hiei turned pink in the face. What was he to tell the big oaf? That he shined like a god? That he appeared absolutely amazing like that? Beautiful even? Or...
"You look stupid." Hiei lied and then purposely looked away.
The ginger stared at him, then rolled his eyes as he scowled. "Tch. Whatever. We should really be looking for the others right now."
Hiei looked at him again. "Our best option is to stay in put and let them find us."
"And do absolutely nothing in the meantime?" Kuwabara groaned. "How like you. We could be meeting them half way, but you just want us to stand here and not do Jack-diddly-squat!"
Hiei had a deadpan expression. "What you insist we do won't help anyone. If we move from this spot then we ourselves will get lost and moreover..." He then narrowed his eyes. "How are you still living? ...Why are you still living?"
Kuwabara blinked, confused. "What now?"
"We're surrounded by a thick mist, this so called fog...is miasma." The fire demon pointed out. "No mere mortal can withstand breathing in these toxic fumes, in no time a human will have had turned blue in the face."
Kuwabara stared at him, then looked around. "Are you sure that's what this cloud is?"
"Kuwabara, you're the stupid one, not me." Hiei stated plainly.
"Should I stop breathing?" Kuwabara asked.
"You're even more stupid than I thought." Hiei remarked, then blinked when he looked toward the psychic's direction... He stiffened and grabbed his sword by it's hilt.
He saw a black figure standing directly by Kuwabara, the figure appeared dressed in an equally dark robe. The dark mass was as tall as Kuwabara himself was and as soon as it appeared, it was gone. Vanished. Just like that.
The fire youkai blinked.
Coming upon them, Yusuke had noticed Kuwabara's glow from a distance. "Hi hoooooooo!"
The fox and the detective ran up to the ginger and fire demon.
"Kuwabara! You're alive!" Kurama declared.
"I know, right? Shorty says I should be dead." Kuwabara laughed as he posed.
"So, you know." Kurama replied.
"Know what?" Yusuke demanded, confused.
"Yusuke, the air in this dimension is poisonous." Kurama enlightened. "Hiei, you, and I are fine because we're demons and that makes us immortal... but Kuwabara...should be dead."
"Really?" Yusuke's eyes widened as he began to freak out. "What the fuck is up with that?"
Kuwabara shrugged, smiling. "I'm just lucky I guess?"
"Luck has nothing to do with it." Hiei stated. "And there's no such thing as luck, the belief in such a thing is for the weak--"
There was a foreign splashing sound.
Hiei looked behind himself.
“What is it, Hiei?” Yusuke asked.
“Shh!” Hiei responded immediately. “I heard something.”
They listened carefully and all four began to hear splashing as well. In fact, the noise was getting closer. Within minutes the noise was coming from all around them.
“We’re surrounded.” Hiei pointed out.
From out of the darkness toward the light, hundreds of demons revealed themselves. Amongst them, a very tall one came forward. He had to be around seven foot in height, yet still, he was not the tallest amongst the Mazoku.
He had long, wild black hair, his bangs on either side stood up as though they were styled to appear like horns. His eyes burned a blood red in hue, his face long and angular in shape, and his complexion the same as Shinobu Sensui’s. He appeared to be wearing a black suit of armor, the design was out of this world yet his chestplate and girdle were reminiscent of a warrior from Ancient Rome when the Ancient Roman Empire was at its peak.
“Who are you?” He commanded, his voice deep and eerie.
Yusuke glanced at Kurama. “Well, he looks solid…”
“They must have already used the stone.” Kurama assumed.
“Who are you?” The demon commanded yet again, his tone lower and more menacing. “I won’t ask again. I’m losing my patience. I might let you live if you answer the goddamn question. Now speak.”
“First, who are you?” Yusuke insisted.
The other Mazoku glanced at each other and began to roar with laughter.
“Yusuke!” Yusuke heard one of the Mazoku mimicking Keiko’s voice. He began to sweat bullets.
The Mazoku eyed the four intruders individually, starting with Yusuke, then Hiei, then Kurama, and then Kuwabara–his eyes stopped there, eying the psychic more intensely.
Kuwabara took notice of this and became immediately flustered when the demon gave him bedroom eyes along with a debonair smile.
Kuwabara stood there, dumbfounded.
The Mazoku revealed that he was in possession of the Soul Stone, which appeared to be crystal-like and blue in color with an Akasha symbol etched into its surface.
“That’s the Soul Stone?” Yusuke remarked dubiously.
“The one and only.” The Mazoku affirmed. “Why else would you be here for, urchin?”
“Well, it wasn’t to get your picture taken.” Yusuke retaliated. “You’re so ugly, a photo of you alone would scare away the cockroaches.”
“Narakumaru,” One of the Mazoku spoke. “Allow me to rip out his tongue and sew his mouth shut.”
An terrifying, disembodied voice spoke. “Go ahead. Amuse me.”
Within seconds, the Mazoku was in the Detective’s personal space, the demon’s hands gripping Yusuke as he loomed over him due to his stature.

Prompt 15,16,45 & 47 :D
Holy shit lol, okay, I’m gonna do these as separate little drabbles cus … well cus i can lol. I’m assuming these are all NaruSaku so …
15 - Don’t die on me - Please
Naruto spat blood onto the ground near him, some of it covering his raw and ruined shoulder. That final attack had come at far more of a cost than he’d expected. Or knew how to deal with.
Sasuke knelt by his friend’s side and tried to hide the dread in his chest as he looked at what used to be Naruto’s jounin vest, the left side of it torn away like some kind of monstrous hand had ripped at him.
‘Son of a bitch,’ Naruto bubbled, the blood filling his mouth from his position on the floor. ‘Tell me you got that snake bastard.’
The last Uchiha’s Sharingan flared, the ebbing flow of chakra around them suddenly visible again. He nodded once. The foul chakra that had belonged to Orochimaru long since extinguished.
The two halves of Sasuke’s old … sensei didn’t sound right and he’d die before calling the repulsive serpent master. Regardless, Orochimaru’s body lay in pieces from the joint attack, his final act of defiance being to drive a fang into Naruto’s heart as a serptine arm had launched out towards the blond.
‘Don’t move.’ Sasuke kept a firm grip of Naruto’s shoulder, trying his best not to excaberate the wound. And failing.
Naruto hissed. ‘Is he dead?’
Sasuke nodded again. ‘And so will you be if you aren’t still. Sakura is on her way.’
As if saying her name summoned her, Sakura dropped into the ravine they had fallen into and landed hard on the side of the small creek. ‘Naruto!’
Naruto coughed as he collapsed onto his back, too fast for even Sasuke to reach down and ease him down.
‘Sasuke move!’ A pink blur all but threw Sasuke out of the way as he was summarily dismissed by the third member of their team. ‘Stupid man, why didn’t you wait for back up?! Why do you never wait for backup?’
‘Sorry Sakura-chan,’ Naruto forced out. ‘Got the bastard though didn’t we Teme?’
‘They’ll throw you a parade when we get home,’ Sakura hissed sarcastically as soft green chakra glow covered her hands and she ran them over his prone form. ‘Okay, nothing broken, Kurama’s already started to heal what he can … but that poison … Sasuke, come over here, I need you to brace him.’
Sasuke moved, his hands on Naruto’s shoulders, keeping the stupid idiot still as those sharp blue eyes zeroed in on Sakura.
‘Okay Naruto,’ Sakura started, positioning her grip better around the large fang before looking him dead in the eyes. ‘This is gonna hurt and if I can’t get the poison out … just don’t die on me. Please,’ she finished, her voice catching on the final last word.
Naruto just nodded, his gaze never leaving Sakura.
The noise that came out of the blond was agonising as Sakura slowly eased the fang out of him. Sasuke had never heard him scream like that and it was all he could do to not look away.
Once it was out, flung away so hard it embedded in the ground at the end of Sakura’s ever impressive throwing arm, the pinkette went to her task, her fingers going to the gaping wound in Naruto’s chest, eeking out the poison in globs and it was at that point that Naruto had started shaking.
Sakura had the poison out and Naruto’s wound started to heal with the combined help of Kurama and good old fashioned medic-nin jutsu.
The blond fell asleep with a touch of Sakura’s chakra as she bandaged him up, the whole process being more or less pointless as the Kyuubi would have him healed up in minutes.
‘I know the idiot has already apologised Sakura,’ Sasuke muttered so only she could hear. The dozing moron’s head resting on Sakura’s lap after all. ‘But I am sorry we didn’t wait for you.’
‘It’s fine,’ Sakura said, her eyes glued to the rising and falling of Naruto’s chest. ‘It’s just lucky you caught up to him before he found Orochimaru and tried to take him on alone. I know he’s strong enough to crush that monster in a straight up fight … but he’s never exactly been the tactician he needs to be to take out someone as crafty as that.’
‘Good thing he has us to pick up his slack in that regard,’ Sasuke said.
Sakura didn’t appear to hear him though, her fingers playing idly with the ends of his fringe.
‘Stupid moron,’ Sakura murmured at long last, her hand resting over his heart. ‘Stupid, brave moron.’
Yes, Sasuke had to agree.
16 - I never meant to hurt you
Naruto let the keys fall onto the counter as he stumbled into the empty house. Too empty.
The shopping, left on the counter from when Mubeki had stormed out the house last night, still hadn’t been packed away.
He guessed she hadn’t come back before …
That was fine, just meant he had something to do when he allowed himself to stop and think for a minute. He gave it a cursory sniff to make sure there wasn’t anything off.
Eyeing the newspaper next to them, reading the headline Two dead as Konoha Hospital is latest target of Oto terrorists!
Turning the newspaper over, he draped his coat over his chair at the breakfast island and slumped down into the sofa.
His hands went to his face, scraping down with the heels of his hands and tried to will away the dagger sharp tears in the corners of his eyes. How could this happen?
How could she have left him?
The question rattled around his head for the twentieth time since he’d started walking home from the hospital.
It was unfair, the question, he shouldn’t ask it. Sakura didn’t leave him because she wanted to. She didn’t have a choice.
He clicked the answerphone message button on the home phone and waited through the autotone woman’s voice, that Sakura had always hated, telling him he had two new messages and one saved one.
First message - from Tsunade on Tuesday twentieth of October at eight-seventeen pm. ‘Hi Naruto, I’m just letting you know that I’m still okay to look after the kids for another week if you need it. Though they keep asking where Daddy is, it might be a good idea to pop round tomorrow, if you can manage it. I understand it’s still hard but you know Sakura wouldn’t want this. Anyway, call me. I’m worried about you.’
Naruto leant over, pressing the delete button and grit his teeth against the sob that was coming.
Second message - from Dr Aburame on Tuesday twentieth of October at six-thirty-six pm. ‘Hello Mr Uzumaki. I was just calling to remind you about your wife’s insurance forms. I hate to push but you need to sign them and return them soon. The longer you leave it the worse it will get. I can have them to the hospital lawyers and HR quickly and this nightmare can start to end. Please look after yourself Mr Uzumaki, Dr Uzumaki would not want you to dwell on what can not be changed. Hopefully I shall see you soon.’
Another quick delete and Naruto felt himself tense before the saved message was even played. The saved message beeped in and Naruto closed his eyes.
First saved message - from Sakura on Sunday twenty-first of September at nine-fifty-two pm. ‘HI babe, I tried your cell but you weren’t answering. I don’t know if you were in work or out but … well I thought best to leave a message on our machine just in case. I … just wanted to say, I’m sorry. I’m sorry for all those horrible things I said, I know you love me I never should have said you didn’t anymore just to get a rise. That was cruel of me and if I could take it back I would in a heartbeat. I didn’t mean to hurt you I was just so angry and scared … let’s just forget it all happened and start fresh. If that’s what you want. It’s what I want. Please call me back when you get this. I’m going to start my rounds in an hour but I’ll be free by the time you get out of work. I love you Naruto, I always will.’
The tears fell hard as he clung to the phone, pressing the replay button as he curled into a ball around it and listened to the last call Sakura had ever made to him over and over again.
45 - Do you trust me?
Sakura was having a weird day.
No seriously, it was just flat out weird. It had started weird, it had continued to be weird and she was pretty sure it was going to end weird.
When she’d come through to her kitchen in her student apartment, it was clean. Which while not unwelcome and honestly not even that much of a problem normally … there was always a certain level of clutter on the counter.
A chopping board or a plate left on the side and not the sink. Something. But today? It was so spotless you’d have thought they had a professional cleaner who had come in while they’d all slept and left with nothing but the scent of lemon pledge.
Maybe the boys hadn’t been back yet and so Ino had slipped out and ransacked the kitchen with cleaning supplies? She liked having Naruto and Kiba living with them, it left their apartment always quite alive with fun and laughter … and the fact that both men had a tendency to lose their shirts and were in the sort of shape that made grown women drool … she assumed, she of course would never allow herself to be so crude.
Though she had to throw a tshirt at Naruto once because he seemed to not get that he had to wear clothes when she was around.
She was actually kind of annoyed with herself for that. She was a medical student, she’d seen more naked men and women than the rest of her housemates combined … but there was just something about Naruto in nothing but his pyjama bottoms that made her all gooey. Sure he was cute but she couldn’t be that attracted to him could she?
So yes, the kitchen was clean, that was weird. Her classes had gone rather mundane though. Except for Shizune, the assistant of Tsunade’s anatomy class let her pet teacup pig loose and it had put nearly all the girls in the room torn between listening to the lecturer and fawning over the cute piggie.
Then for some reason she’d allowed herself to be dragged out to a house party. Which was where the weirdness continued.
‘Sakura!’ Ino hissed as she pulled the woman aside as she entered after a man with bright blue hair and a shark tattoo on his neck. ‘You gotta see this!’
Sakura was pulled through to the backyard and found something that she wasn’t quite sure how to process.
Naruto and Kiba, shirtless again for Kami’s sake, were doing shots in the middle of a large semi circle. It was a competition of some sorts which … well to be honest wasn’t too much of a surprise.
What was surprising though … was that after the shot they both did Kiba managed to one up Naruto, if that’s what you wanted to call it, by sticking his tongue down the unsuspecting throat of a nearby girl with lavender hair and almost supernaturally pale eyes, who’s cheeks burst into pink fires as she slowly came back to Earth to hold onto Kiba.
Who was grinning winningly at the woman before smugly staring Naruto down. As if daring him to match him. Which he obviously would, there were tons of gorgeous and willing women gathered around as if they’d known this was coming.
So the weirdness intensified when Naruto turned, sweaty and shirtless and filled with surety and intensity that sent sparks up her spine when their eyes connected.
He was in front of her before she was aware what was happening and his words were muttered much softer than she’d ever expected.
‘Do you trust me Sakura?’
She nodded. Did that mean he was going to … oh Kami, she could feel her cheeks burning way before his hands cupped her cheeks and soft lips captured hers in a much more delicate kiss than the one Kiba had given the woman who was still trying to remember her name.
Fire, not electricity, burned somewhere below her navel and Sakura leaned into Naruto, her mouth opening readily as the kiss deepened as his hands went from her face to her hair, to the small of her back as he pulled her in and she almost crumpled against him when the kiss broke.
‘Ha! Nowhere near as intense as our kiss Naruto! You lose!’
Sakura wanted to argue that that had been way more intense and she was about to try and pull away when Naruto captured her attention all over again with two simple words/
‘Worth it,’ he murmured before kissing her again, his arms going around her as she returned the kiss with as much fire as she could drag away from her belly.
Like she said. Weird day.
47 - You’re cute when you’re angry
Naruto had really done it this time.
A vein was popping in Sakura’s head. He could see it, it was so obvious he was sure the children he would now never have could probably see it.
‘Do you have anything to say before I knock your block off Naruto?’ Sakura growled, water from the lake he had cannonballed in to right by her … he’d only wanted to say hi instead of shout it!
Okay, he could do this! He could stop his teammate from decking him halfway across the training fields. She’d understand he’d just been excited to see her, yeah, they’d spent so little time together recently during the peace after the war had ended. Between her time at the hospital and his time being groomed for the Hokage chair by Kakashi and Tsunade … well it had been a while.
‘I’m waiting Naruto,’ Sakura snarled as she started stomping over to him, trying to shake the last droplets of water of her gloved fists, the water having made her long pink hair slick against her head like she’d just gotten out of the shower. Water making her already lovely skin glisten in the summer sun.
She looked divine and he wouldn’t even pretend she didn’t. Actually … it gave him what would hopefully be his ticket out of a walloping.
‘Erm … you look cute when you’re angry?’
He held up his hands, Sakura pausing mere centimetres from him when he’d shouted out his lacklustre defence.
Once he’d noticed he wasn’t faceplanting the nearest wall, he dared to crack open an eye as Sakura was stood, crossing her arms in a huff, the summer sun making her cheeks red as she looked away from him and frowned.
‘Just don’t do it again you moron.’
‘Course,’ Naruto said tentatively. ‘Are you okay Sakura? Your face is red, maybe you should could stand under the shade of the waterfall? Help you cool off? It’s actually why I’m even here, it was so hot after training I had to get out of my smelly clothes and go for a dip.’
Sakura’s eyes ran over him and she glanced away, her face getting a little redder. ‘No I’m fine, I ‘ll just take a cold shower when I get home. A really cold shower, yeah, that will do it. Bye Naruto.’
And with that Sakura turned around and walked away. Having not kicked his ass.
Which he counted as a win, before he went back to the waterfall and let the cool water wash over him.
He hoped Sakura wasn’t coming down with sunstroke, she had looked really red when she was leaving.

Starting Over (For Real?) 19-20
[fanfiction] NaruSasu
Read the previous parts here.
- 19 -
“You’re kind of emotionally constipated, aren’t you?” Sai hummed as he ambled along next to my wheelchair.
We’d been travelling without Naruto for the last two days, and it had been fine for the most part because Sai didn’t talk that much.  When he decided to talk, though, it always put me in a mood to put my fist through his chest.
“What does that have to do with anything?” I growled, speeding up.
“I was just thinking about how we’re probably going to see Naruto in a few hours, and you’re going to act like it’s not what you’ve been waiting for since your half-assed goodbye,” he said.
I didn’t answer him because engaging him only gave him more to say.  If I was to answer him, I would have informed him that there was nothing ‘half-assed’ about dismissing the slobbering idiot with a polite shove before he made a public spectacle of what I considered to be a private relationship that no one else needed to know about.
“Everyone already knows,” Sai said knowingly.
I glowered at him.
“And yes, I can read your mind,” he said with an annoying fake laugh.
I ignored him, because telling him that he could not read my mind would only make it all the more obvious how pathetically one-tracked my mind was and how incredibly not-secret my relationship with Naruto was.
“We should break for lunch,” he suggested.
I kept plowing forward.  Let him starve.
Of course Sai just kept smiling as he moved beside me.
We kept going for another two hours on empty stomachs until I finally just stopped moving.
Sai didn't make any comments, quietly forming his seals to get our food ready.
I had a rice ball half-eaten when Naruto popped out of the Flying Thunder God seal on my back.  I crushed the rice, the sticky grains clinging to my fingers.  I glowered at him as he stumbled around in front of me.
“Oh, hey, I'm just in time,” he said, but his eyes weren't smiling.
I hesitated, and that gave him the opening he needed to throw himself at me.  “Naruto,” I growled, trying not to think too much about his sad eyes.
He clung to me as I held up my rice-covered hand, unsure of what to do with it.
“Do you think that we're in the public-displays-of-affection phase of our relationship?” I muttered.
He nodded, casting his pathetic eyes up at me.  Then his lips started coming closer.
I stuck my hand in his face.  “Do you think we're in the kissing-in-front-of-Sai phase of our relationship?” I asked.
He nodded again.
I stared at him.
Fuck it, we were in the kissing-in-front-of-Sai phase of our relationship.  It was brief and rice-covered and I hated it, but that's where we were at.
Sai wolf-whistled at us.
I glared at him, which only made his smile wider.
“What happened?” he asked, ignoring the fact that Naruto was still straddling my wheelchair.
Naruto looked into my eyes, looping his fingers with mine and kissing my bruised knuckles.  Then he let his attention drift over to Sai and his face took on a guilty countenance.
I knew that things were about to get more annoying.
“Well, none of us are ever going back to Konoha!” Naruto declared with an exaggerated laugh.
“What did you do?” I asked, nudging him away from me and towards the direction of the ground.
He bit his lip, landing on his feet and gazing down at me before flicking his eyes nervously to Sai.
“What did he not do?” Kakashi asked, slapping Naruto on the back.
All three of us recoiled.
“So, where are we off to?” he asked.
“We?” I asked incredulously.
“Off to?” Sai said, scratching his cheek.
“Whassit?” Naruto said, looking the most confused of all.
“I think it would be in our best interest to move quickly,” Kakashi said, suddenly pushing my wheelchair forward.
“Were you followed?!” Naruto asked.
“Most likely,” Kakashi said cheerfully.
“What the fuck is going on?!”I snapped.
“What a mouth you’ve gotten,” Kakashi hummed, still pushing me along at a manic speed while Naruto and Sai kept pace beside us.
“I think Naruto would agree with you,” Sai said with a nod.
“How did you follow me?!” Naruto demanded.
“Trade secrets,” Kakashi said.  “So what’s this about Naruto thinking about Sasuke’s mouth?”
“They’ve begun a courtship,” Sai explained.
“I’m not just going to be pushed around-” I tried to object.
“We’re soulmates,” Naruto said.  “But we don’t have time to talk about that right now, because who followed you?!”
“It’s just an ANBU squad, no big deal,” Kakashi said.  “You know what’s a big deal, you and your one-armed frenemy deciding not to kill each other and do mouth-mating instead.”
“What are any of you even taking about?!” I raged, letting Susanoo cloak me as I rose out of my chair and took Naruto with me.
Kakashi had too much momentum to stop at first, pushing my empty chair along before finally letting go and whirling around to face the oncoming threat.
“They don’t know that I can’t do jutsu,” Naruto whispered in my ear, the glow of his chakra feeding into me.
“Talk your way out of this or I kill them,” I informed him.
His jaw tensed.
Sai floated up beside us on his bird, while Kakashi stood at our feet, looking completely relaxed in the face of the four masked ANBU who were suddenly standing before us.
“Can we help you gentlemen and gentle ladies?” he asked, exuding his usual ‘aw, shucks’ charm.
“No games,” Dog Mask said flatly.
“‘No games’?” Kakashi repeated, and suddenly his chakra was gathering in his hand.  “Should we just fight to the death then?”
Dog Mask tilted his head to the side expectantly.
“That’s not why we came here,” Tiger Mask interjected.  “That’s not what we want.”
“And what is it that you want?” Kakashi asked calmly.
Naruto made a move to drop to the ground and I caught his arm, yanking him back to me.
“Stay put.”
“You told me to talk to them,” he tried to protest.
“Let’s leave it to Kakashi first.”
“Um, Kakashi-sensei is terrible at talking.”
“Kakashi could talk his way out of a paper bag.”
“…what does that even mean…?”
“I feel like you’re mixing metaphors,” Sai chimed in.
“You know what I mean!”
“No, we don’t,” Naruto said, shaking his head.
I almost shoved him to the ground, and the thought scared me to the point of holding him more tightly.
Naruto’s hand slid over mine and started gently prying at my fingers from their death grip.
“Idiot,” I said, because there was nothing else to say.
“I’m sorry, are we boring you up there?” Rat Mask called.
“Yes,” all three of us answered.
Rat and Dog seemed to take that as a call to a fight.
“Just come back to the village,” Tiger Mask interjected, pleading with us.  “Come back quietly and let’s sort this all out.  No one wants to fight.”
Silent laughter seemed to pass through the others, except for Bird who shifted seemingly uncomfortably.
“We don’t want to fight,” he reiterated, and Rat and Dog stayed put.  This was the man in charge.
“Then don’t follow us,” Kakashi said with a shrug, turning around and walking away.
“You know we can’t do that,” Tiger Mask said, taking a step forward.
Kakashi walked past us.
The ANBU prepared to attack.
“Amaterasu,” Naruto said sharply.
“You need to stop with this ordering me around shit,” I informed him, throwing up a wall of flames that the ANBU couldn’t hope to cross.
“You’re the one threatening to kill people,” he shot back, but he looked chastised.
“We’re ninjas.”
“We don’t have to kill.”
I turned to Sai.
He looked back at me.  “You want me to tell him how dumb he sounds?”
I nodded.
“Naruto, friend, you sound dumb.”
“Yeah, I know,” he said quietly.  “I just… I don’t get what it all means anymore.  Those ANBU used to be our allies, you know.  But someone somewhere decided that we’re on different sides, so now we’re arbitrary enemies expected to fight to the death.”
I studied his smooth, unlined eyes built in his world-weary face.
“By the way, why exactly are we fighting to the death?” Sai interceded.
“Oh, uh…” Naruto started, chewing on his bottom lip.  “Well, you see, um…”
“Are you three coming?!” Kakashi called from a significant distance away.  “They’re going to figure out how to get through those things eventually.”
I scoffed at that.  “My flames will burn for seven days and seven nights.”
“I think they’re going around,” Sai pointed out unhelpfully as the ANBU started racing east along the wall of flames.
“Good luck to them, it’s miles long,” I sniffed.
“Is this forest gonna be okay?” Naruto mused.
“For fuck’s sake, are you a pacifist and an environmentalist now?” I growled.
“Maybe,” he said snidely.
“I’m leaving without you!” Kakashi announced.
We all shrugged at that.
“I have food that isn’t ration bars!” he added.
I found myself on Naruto’s back, following behind Kakashi as we moved through the Land of Rivers.
The ANBU were waiting for us at the ferry.
“How… inconvenient,” Kakashi hummed.
“I can take care of it,” I said.
“No!” Naruto said too quickly.  “They’re just following orders,” he added.
“I chose not to follow my orders,” Sai said.
That gave Naruto pause.
I threw up Susanoo for the second time that day.
“Wait,” he growled, drawing up beside me in Kurama Mode.
“This is your last chance to come back peacefully,” Tiger Mask called to us.
“And what would you do to us if we did?” Naruto demanded.
“You would each be taken into custody and given a fair trial.”
Kakashi burst out laughing, his face covered by the novel he was holding in his hand.
Naruto looked conflicted.  “I’m not going to marry a Hyuuga, I’m not exiling Kakashi-sensei, and I’m not going to declare the Fifth dead.”
“What the hell happened the two days you were gone?” I asked incredulously.
He looked at me sadly.
“The village needs you,” Tiger Mask insisted.
“Not that much,” Dog Mask said, which immediately earned him a stare down from Tiger Mask.
Bird Mask stepped forward for the first time.  “We’re allies.  There’s no reason to fight,” she said.
“Then stop pursuing us,” Naruto said.
“You know we can’t do that.  We have our orders.”
Naruto was quiet for a long time.  I could see his thought process working on overdrive.  “I won’t be taking any more orders,” he finally said.
I felt something changing inside of him.
“We tried,” Rat Mask said, taking an offensive position.
Naruto turned to me and held his hand out.
I completed the seal with him, and suddenly what seemed like hundreds of Kurama Mode Narutos were surrounding the ANBU squad.
Kakashi rolled his neck and turned the page of his book, unperturbed by the battle unfolding in front of him.
“You made too many,” I muttered, watching as clone after clone popped out of existence from the ANBU’s simple attacks.
“They’re a distraction,” Sai said, giving a final dramatic stroke of his brush.  A white tiger burst from his scroll, attacking Bird Mask.
“Here we go,” Kakashi said, tossing his book behind him and suddenly launching a taijutsu attack on Tiger Mask.
“I guess that leaves you two to me,” Dog Mask said, suddenly riding a lion.
Rat Mask was right behind him, riding a giant… rat.
Naruto’s hand reached for mine, forming rapid seals as clones appeared and rasengans were formed.
“Stay close,” I growled at him as his clones all plunged into battle.
“Yeah,” he said, squeezing my hand.  It tingled as his chakra infused my pathways.
“I don’t need your chakra.”
“Well, neither do I,” Naruto said with a shrug.
I felt a surge of energy from across the battlefield, strangely familiar, like the swirling of a sharingan, but I didn’t have time to think about it.
Rat Mask leapt onto Susanoo, showing that he wasn’t a complete idiot as he did his damnedest to separate me and Naruto.  His constant frontal attacks, paired with Dog Mask’s long distance sniping that was aimed specifically at making Naruto dodge were starting to really piss me off.  I pulled out Susanoo’s bow, rapidly firing arrows and trying to bring things to a quick finish.
Rat and Dog were more adept than I’d expected.  Or maybe I’d gotten so used to the idea that Naruto and I were untouchable, that I’d forgotten that I was a cripple and that Naruto couldn’t perform seals.
Then Sai destroyed Bird Mask’s henge, and all hell broke loose.
 - 20 -
“Naruto!” I yelled, reaching for his hand, but he was already gone from Susanoo, knocked down by Rat Mask.  “Fuck,” I cursed, throwing up my bow as a shield from Dog Mask’s sudden attack.
I should have known better than to think Naruto helpless, but he was clearly distracted and couldn’t perform any hand seals.  Somehow he kept it together, grabbing a nearby clone and sending a rasengan into Rat Mask’s face.
I had problems of my own, with Dog Mask doing a surprisingly effective Gentle Fist on my Susanoo.
“Fucking Hyuugas,” I growled, summoning Aoda and dropping onto his head as I released Susanoo.
“Sasuke-sama, your legs,” Aoda fussed.
“Get us distance from the Hyuuga,” I ordered, summoning Amaterasu.
Storm clouds started rumbling in the sky.
Dog Mask thought he had me on the run.  Arrogant prick.
As soon as he was close enough, I struck, pulling lightning from the clouds and sending it directly into Dog Mask’s body.
Naruto and Rat Mask were still fighting, but Kakashi seemed to have Ibiki Morino cornered, and Sai and Sakura were just staring at each other, both unmoving.
I had Aoda check on the Hyuuga.  Whichever one it was, it was dead.
“You just had to make things more complicated,” Kakashi said with a sigh.
“It was us or them,” I answered easily.
“And yet no one else killed their opponent,” he said, giving me a hard look.
I stayed on top of Aoda, looking down on him.  “I’m certainly not the person here with the highest kill count.”
“No, I guess you’re not,” he agreed easily.
“SAKURA.”
We all froze, the power of Naruto’s voice echoing through the open field.
Rat Mask was dumped between Sakura and Morino.
“What were you thinking?!” Naruto raged at her.
Sakura swallowed, her previously defiant façade shattering.  “I-I’m not going t-to lose you again!” she stammered, trying to recover.  “Stop and think for a second, Naruto.  This is crazy, you can’t betray the village like this!”
Nine shimmering tails wagged behind Naruto.  “This village betrayed me,” he said icily.
I still didn’t know what the fuck was going on, but I didn’t like it, and I found myself slipping from Aoda’s head and grabbing onto Naruto’s arm, holding myself upright.  “Explain.”
He looked to me, the rage and sorrow momentarily softening.  “Hyuuga tried to kill Baa-chan.”
“What?” Sakura said, startled.
“You don’t even know what you’re fighting for!” Naruto snapped, angry again.
“I’m fighting for you, you idiot!” she snapped back.  “I’m fighting for your dream!  If you do this… if you walk away now… you’ll never be the hokage!”
“I don’t care!” Naruto shouted, his chakra crackling over my skin unpleasantly.
“You can’t mean that,” Sakura whispered.
“I tell you that they tried to kill Baa-chan, and that’s not enough for you?!” Naruto cried.
“Hyuuga Hiashi is one man!” Sakura cried.  “And Tsunade-sama is fi-” she started and stopped, the pain in her face evident.  “I just left her.  She’s alive.”
“Because Kakashi and I stopped it!” Naruto snapped.
His chakra was hurting me, and I was starting to lose my grip.
“Naruto, what do you want from me?!” Sakura cried.  “You want me to let you just throw everything away and leave the village?!”
“Yes.”
“I won’t do that!”
“You don’t have a choice.”
“Don’t make me go through this again.”
“Come with us,” I stated flatly.
She turned to me, surprised.
Naruto was staring at me in surprise, too.  He suddenly seemed to realize how my whole body was shaking with the effort to stand up, and he infused me with his chakra, keeping me upright.
“I should have asked you the first time,” I said.
“I wouldn’t have-”
“I know,” I interrupted her.  “But I should have asked.  Both of you.  So I’m asking now.”
“I can’t just…” she trailed off.
“You can,” Naruto said, the edge finally gone.
“Come with us,” I repeated.
She shook her head.  “No.”
“Then this is where it ends,” I said.
Naruto looked appalled.  “I’m not gonna let you kill Sakura!”
“I meant Team 7,” I said irritably.
“Oh… uh… hey, so I thought you said that ended when you left the first time.”
“It did.”
“Okay, but you just said…”
Sakura just stared at us through her tears.
“Take these two back to the village,” Naruto said, nodding to the two unconscious ANBU.  “And take care of Baa-chan.”
“Naruto, don’t do this,” Sakura said, shaking her head.  “You can never come back.  You can never-”
“Why would I want to come back?” Naruto said, turning around and abruptly leaving, dragging me along with him.
My left leg started to give out, and I immediately found myself on Naruto’s back.  I could feel the anger and the hurt and betrayal radiating through him.  I slid my arm around his chest, holding onto his shoulder.
Naruto took a breath and leaned his head in to brush his lips against my hand, trying to steady himself.
Sai caught up with us on his bird.
“Who was Rat Mask?” Naruto asked, nodded his head towards the ANBU mask hanging from Sai’s belt.
“No one important,” Sai said.
Naruto and I both looked at him, but all he did was smile.
Kakashi was sauntering along behind us like he had no cares in the world, but his presence felt heavy, like he’d been cut the deepest of all.
“So what happened?” Sai finally asked, voicing my own thoughts.
Kakashi and Naruto were both silent.
“It doesn’t matter,” I said.  “I’ll follow you,” I added quietly, only for Naruto’s ears.
He breathed in sharply, swallowing back his usual waterworks as best as he could.
There was no one to captain the ferry, but Kakashi questioned how hard it could possibly be for four competent ninja to operate a boat, and we were tired enough to pretend that that seemed reasonable.
As we set sail, Sai did a release seal.
“What do you think she’ll do now?” Naruto asked quietly.
“Come after us,” Sai said cheerfully, gesturing towards the receding shoreline.
Sakura was standing there, newly freed from the jutsu that had bound her, and waving her arms frantically.
“Is she trying to stop us?” Naruto asked, confused.
“Maybe she wants to tell us something,” Sai suggested.
“I think she changed her mind,” Kakashi said.
She yelled something at us.
“Can’t hear you,” Kakashi said, pointing to his ears and shrugging exaggeratedly.
Sakura sighed and stepped onto the water.
Naruto didn’t say anything, just stared her down with a very dark look in his eyes.
“Stop the boat,” I told Kakashi quietly.
He looked at Naruto, and I knew he didn’t like what he saw, either.  He stopped the boat.
Sakura walked towards us slowly, her body heaving slightly.
“What do you want?” Naruto asked coldly when she got into hearing range.
She didn’t seem surprised by the venom, but it still clearly stung.  “I…” she started, looking helpless.  “I don’t want it to end like this,” she finally said.  “I trust you.  If you...  I trust you.”
“Then why did you try to stop us?”
“Why did you try to stop Sasuke from leaving the first time?”
“That… that was completely different!”
“Was it?” I asked.
“What, are you on her side?!” Naruto snapped at me.
I shrugged.
“Look, I just need to know,” Sakura said.  “Did someone really try to kill Tsunade-sama?  And if so, why did you leave her behind defenseless?”
“You trust me, but you don’t believe me,” Naruto growled.
“I’m sorry for being confused!  I mean, if you all leave, then what’s going to stop the next assassin?”
“You.”
Sakura looked helpless again.
“Leave the village,” I said.  “Take Tsunade.  They’ll take you in at Suna if Naruto sends word ahead.”
“You make it sound like it’s not impossible to sneak the hokage out of a locked hospital ward into a foreign nation while leaving behind everyone I know and love,” Sakura said, the tears already pricking at her eyelids.
“Then maybe it’s not,” I said.  I wanted to make a dramatic exit into the bottom of the boat because I was tired of all this, but my legs ruined everything.
“Start the boat,” Naruto said.
Kakashi looked at him.
“We’re not finished,” Sakura said.
“We are.”
“This is certainly exciting,” Sai commented.
The conversation stalled as almost everyone glared at him.
“Get on the damn boat, Sakura,” I said tiredly.
Everyone turned to me, confused, except for Kakashi who was beaming like a proud papa.
“We’re leaving,” I added, and this was absolutely the moment for me to make my dramatic exit into the bottom of the boat, but my legs really and truly ruined everything.
Sakura looked completely lost and like she was about to sink into the water she was standing on.
Sai held his hand out to her.
“Why?” Naruto asked me.
“Quit being a moron,” I said.  “I’m going to the cabin.”
He looked at me expectantly.
I looked back at him.
He finally got the hint and gave me his arm, casting a wary glance at Sakura before helping me down the stairs.
I left the situation in Sai and Kakashi’s incapable hands.
“She’s not coming with us,” Naruto said, easing me onto the floor.
“What are you so angry about?” I asked, trying to stretch my aching legs.  They were too cramped up to move well.
“Have you been doing your exercises?” he asked, already invading my personal space.
“Yes,” I said irritably, backing him up with my arm even as he was running his arm up my leg.
“Did Sai help you?”
“Sai cannot help anyone do anything.”
“Get on your back,” he said, tapping my knee.
“No.”
“Why not?” he asked, tilting his head to the side.
“Because you’re going to tell me what the fuck is going on.”
“What is there to know?”
I ended up getting my hand around his throat and shaking him.
“I can still,” he gasped, “breathe, you know!”
“Because I let you,” I growled.
He looked pathetic, so I let him go.
We were both quiet.
“You’re kind of a psychopath…” Naruto murmured.
“And you get turned on by it, so what does that say about you?” I said, kicking my leg in the general direction of his obvious bulge.
“I don’t fucking know,” he said, completely seriously and a little bit worried.  “Fuck,” he said, and then he was crying.
This is what I got for involving myself with an emotional train wreck.  I patted his back awkwardly while he snotted into my chest.
Sai crept down the stairs and I raised an eyebrow at him.  “Sakura’s gone,” he informed us.
Naruto’s head shot up.
“She’s going to try and get Tsunade to Suna,” he said.  “She’s on our side.”
“Then why did she try to stop us?!” Naruto demanded, getting revved up again.
“The same reason you tried to stop me, idiot,” I said, keeping my hand on the back of his neck and holding him in place.
“How many times do I have to say that this and that are completely different?!”
“No, Sasuke is right, it’s exactly the same,” Sai said.
Naruto turned his homicidal look on Sai.
I tightened my grip on his scruff.
“I just wanted to tell you that,” Sai said, taking his leave.
“You need to calm the fuck down,” I informed the angry baby.
“I know,” he said penitently.
I loosened my grip.
“I feel like something inside of me is being lost,” he said very quietly.
“I see you losing it,” I said.
He swallowed.
“We’ll figure it out,” I said, pulling him in close.  It didn’t feel as awkward to hug him.
“Okay,” he agreed, putting his face back in the snot stain.

Note
You know what else bothers me? I hate the fact that Naruto got to the level where he's at as a thanks to the Nine-Tails. The story was supposed to be about a loser who managed to get stronger thanks to his own will and efforts, instead he relies on some borrowed power from a giant sentient chakra battery. For real, Kurama is the real main character of this series and Sasuke's true rival. He did all the heavy lifting throughout the entire series.
Also, none of the other Jinchuuriki have a special mode where they glow, they just gain the ability to control themselves when they use the Bijuu cloak and Bijuu form. Even when Naruto uses the Bijuu form, it looks as opposed to the others. Why wouldn't it just be Kurama's actual form? What makes the Nine-Tails more special than the other Bijuus?
That’s one of the fucking reasons I hate Naruto, I felt he’s cheating when he used kyuubi in his fight against Neji. Everytime he’s in a pinch, kyuubi would save his ass. Worse, kyuubi’s power is so vaguely defined it’s like it’s omnipotent. Chakra limit used to be a thing that makes fights tactical, but it’s never a factor for Naruto cos he has chakra batteries. Kyuubi can also magically regenerate his lungs, give him durability and speed, it can do anything naruto needs. It’s so broken it’s not even funny. The power difference between one tailed and nine tailed is like between 1 and over 9000.
Naruto and kyuubi are one of the reasons why the war arc is shit. For some unknown reason only kyuubi can be used as chakra cloak, and it’s never explained why. And Naruto abused that, he cloaked the entire shinobi army with his kyuubi cloak wtf. The army are just standing fodders, they’re given nothing to do, why’re you cloaking them? just send them home. Then he cloaked all of K11 and they did rasengan together. You fucking kidding me? don’t you need to learn to master the wind affinity to do that? Since when you can magically acquire a new jutsu without training by wearing a chakra cloak? and oh thanks for reminding us all the other characters are useless without naruto and kyuubi. Naruto and kyuubi are the worst.
People who still thought naruto was a underdog after the neji fight are delusional.

Consideration
Title: Isn’t it Love?
Chapter 5: Consideration
Relationship: Hiei/Kurama | Minamino Shuuichi
Character(s): Hiei (YuYu Hakusho), Kurama | Minamino Shuuichi
Additional Tags: Feelings Realization, Team as Family, Post-Canon, Fluff, 5+1 Things
Summary: On a mission to the Ningenkai, Yukina and Hiei reach an understanding while Yuusuke gives a clue to something that Hiei's been avoiding for awhile.
It is only through the grace of Yukina’s presence that the former spirit detective was permitted to live another day. After returning to the Ningenkai, the peaceful lull of afternoon settled over the city, Hiei clad himself in human clothing to walk the streets towards Yuusuke’s shop with full intentions to put the Mazoku in the ground once and for all. What he hadn’t accounted for was his sister visiting Keiko for a bowl of ramen and conversation with the couple.
“It’s been a while, Hiei,” Keiko said as he shut the sliding door behind him. “How’s Kurama?”
“He’s fine,” Hiei replied without thinking, taking a seat beside his sister who gave him a smile, tucking a lock of her hair behind her ear.
The thought belatedly crossing his mind on why she asked that particular question. He narrowed his eyes questioningly at Keiko who gave him a friendly wave then turned around to a snickering Yuusuke who had his back to the bar, cleaning something , although Hiei was certain he was just trying not to laugh in his face. And while he wanted to stay angry, being in such close proximity to Yukina make it difficult. Occasionally as if gauging his mood, her gaze would drift to him as she slurped away at her noodles. On the umpteenth time that her hair nearly fell, he reached over to lay a hand on her shoulder.
“Is something wrong, brother?” Yukina asked, the title making his heart flutter and he huffed. Pointing to the messy pony-tail, she nodded in understanding and reached back to undo it. Gently, he nudged her hands away.
“I’ll do it,” he assured, rising from his chair and slipping to stand behind her.
There was a faint pink tinge to her skin as he undid her ponytail, and it rose to her face, barely visible on her cheeks from where he stood. Running his fingers through her before gathering it up, he deftly twisted the hair ribbon around it and secured it in a bow just as she wore it. Once he was sure that it was fixed, he laid his hand on the back of her chair and peered around to her face. Her cheeks were nearly as red as their eyes but her smile was bright.
“Something happen?” He asked, tilting his head. Only when he spoke did she return from her reverie and give him a smile, her eyes practically sparkling.
“Nothing, I’m grateful, brother,” Yukina says, and Hiei is certain that she’s glowing.
So bright that he has to look away, climbing into his chair again and resting his elbow on the bar as he averted his gaze, chin resting in his hand. “Good,” he grumbled, ignoring the floating feeling in his chest at her words.
Yuusuke fiddled around with a few more of the dishes. The clinking distracting Hiei from his sister’s occasional glances and presence until a glass of water was set in front of him.
“So, you come here often, shortie?” Yuusuke asked with a shit-eating grin from ear to ear, unwithering even with one of Hiei’s best glares.
“You were the one that gave Mukuro a cellphone, weren’t you?” Hiei accused, his eyes narrowing when the spirit detective dared to laugh .
“What gave it away?”
Hiei snorted, leaning back in his chair and crossing his arms, the heat wafting from him causing the water in the glass to warm from the steam forming on the edges.
“The contact names that you put for everyone ,” Hiei stressed, counting the reasons off on his fingers.”The pictures that could have only been taken by people that were nearby, and the lack of anyone else having such liberal access to her.”
Yuusuke whistles low and raps his knuckles against the bar. “Damn, are you sure that you shouldn’t have been a spirit detective?”
A scathing remark sat on his tongue but he reined it in when a chance look out the corner of his eye landed him eye to eye with his sister. Her forehead creased with worry, lips pressed together and eyes wide as she regarded him. The sinking in his stomach only served to acclimate his annoyance with Yuusuke but he knew better than to act like this in front of Yukina. Startling her was the last thing he wanted. Easing the heat waves pouring off of him, he smiled faintly.
“I’m sorry, sister, there was an issue with something the detective gave to Mukuro and I merely wanted to get to the bottom of it,” he explained, laying a hand atop her head. “There’s nothing to be concerned over.”
Yukina gave him a look then smiled in return, accepting the head pat with a slight nod before returning to her food. Hiei resisted the urge to sigh. He knew that she wasn’t easy to fool and definitely wasn’t a child, but it didn’t make lying to her easy. Skirting around the truth was just as hard to his dismay. And obviously Yuusuke’s amusement if his grin was anything to account for.
Hiei grimaced, jutting a thumb towards the doorway and the former detective got the message, stepping away from the bar and calling to Keiko that he would be stepping out for a bit.
“Brother,” Yukina called once Hiei stepped away from his chair, the fire demon looking over his shoulder at her. “I know that you might be busy but would you mind walking home with me today?”
Hiei straightened up. He half expected that the oaf would be clamoring over himself to get here and have the chance to walk his sister home. The fact that he wasn’t only made HIei want to rescind his consideration of giving Kuwabara permission to court his sister. Turning to face her, hands tucked in his pockets, Hiei nodded. Such a simple gesture made her smile and the fluttering feeling in his chest returned.
He resisted the urge to curl his fingers in his shirt and twist, instead turning his back and trying to rid himself of this giddiness as he headed to the door. Yuusuke waiting for him outside, the two slipped into the alleyway near the shop where Hiei was free to grab the Mazoku by his shirt and tug him down to eye level.
“Why did you do it?”
The mazoku grinned. “Why did I do what?”
Obviously, he was getting some sort of joy out of this and Hiei would not let him have the satisfaction of hearing him say it. Reaching into the pocket of his jeans for the offending object, the screen comes to life and switching to his contacts, the one in particular, found almost immediately. He’d recognize that face anywhere after all.
The phone’s screen shoved in Yuusuke’s face making him go cross-eyed as he tried to read what was on the screen. Leaning his head back enough to look at it better, he bit down on his bottom lip harshly to stifle a laugh. Though it wasn’t enough and his shoulders shook, laughter echoing off the walls of the alley. Hiei glowered and tried to stifle the growl clawing up his throat.
“You’re mad that I put Kurama in your phone as your ‘hubby’?”
Hearing the word out loud was even more mortifiying than reading it on the screen. Hiei recoiled as if burned and snatched his hand away from the detective, running it over his clothes as if he touched something foul.
“Kurama is not my…” he visibly cringed at the word and shoved the phone in his pocket. “He is my partner , not that disgusting euphemism you used.”
Yuusuke rolled his eyes, folding his arms across his chest. “Partner is the same as hubby , dumbass. And two, Keiko calls me ‘hubby’ so watch it.”
“I know what I said,” Hiei said flatly, rolling his eyes. “Why did you even give her a phone? There are other ways to contact one another that are quicker or you could just see her.”
Yuusuke gives him a look and Hiei knows that particular look. It’s the look of how long can he drag this out before the fire demon starts threatening bodily harm. A game that he and at times, unknowingly, Kuwabara tend to play. Deciding that it may be better to tell the fire demon what he wanted to know, Yuusuke shrugged.
“Group chats.”
“Group chats,” Hiei repeated, staring at Yuusuke as if he had grown two heads. “Why.”
“Pictures.”
These few-worded statements weren’t getting them anywhere and he was almost certain that he was going to kill him. Rules against violence and disturbances in the Ningenkai be damned, the detective was pushing his buttons.
“Listen Hiei, we could always use those other methods to send stuff to each other and all, but it makes planning so much easier. And a lot harder to avoid ,” Yuusuke stressed, giving him a look that made Hiei huff and fold his arms, looking away. “C’mon, is it really that bad that I wanted us all to be connected like a family should be?”
Hiei’s mind came to a screeching halt. “What did you say?”
Yuusuke tilted his head, now looking at him as if he had grown two heads. “We could always us—”
“No, not that,” Hiei interjected. “The last part. Connection.”
Yuusuke nodded slowly. “Yeah, I mean, why do you think we’re all on a family plan? I even got Kurama to switch over —”
“Wait, Kurama knows about this?”
Yuusuke sighed and rubbed at his temples. “Hiei, you’re practically married to the guy, how do you not know about thi— wait, where did you get your phone from?”
“Mukuro.”
“That damn fox,” Yuusuke huffed a laugh and shook his head. “I thought that Kurama would’ve given it to you and explained everything but he must’ve left it with Mukuro the last time he went over there.”
Wrapping his head around all of this was difficult . A dawning realization making Hiei’s blood run cold.
“The name…”
“Huh?”
“Did Kurama see the name?”
Yuusuke opened his mouth, then closed it, looking from left to right as if he was afraid the fox would materialize out of thin air.
Hiei growled, seconds away from throttling him, “ Yuusuke .”
The detective held up his hands. “Okay, yeah. Yeah, he saw it.”
Hiei feels as if his soul left his body. Kurama saw that innane nickname. What did he even think of it? What did he want him to think of it? His heart was simultaneously sinking and beating faster, and he leant against the alley wall, focusing on the tongue of his sneakers.
“I’m not married to him,” he muttered numbly, running his fingers through his hair. “We’re—”
Yuusuke’s hand appeared in his line of sight, setting on his shoulder and slowly, he raised his head to look at the spirit detective. The teasing and grinning face he wore was gone, replaced with a look that spoke nothing but concern and openness. His dark eyes were warm and imploring, Hiei reflected in their depths and while he often hated being looked down on or boxed in, the gesture was comforting . He might have to rescind his thought to put the Mazoku under and send his soul to the Reikai.
“You’re partners,” Yuusuke points out, shrugging. “And you do everything together, right?”
More or less.
He ate most of his meals at Kurama’s, slept there even on the nights when he could’ve stayed in Mukuro’s territory, they went out together more often than not, and attended functions with the entire group as a pair. They even slept in the same bed and slept with eachother , and the kiss that Kurama gives him before he leaves, the way he holds him. Wants him to tell him to come home safely.
Home .
“Hiei, hey,” Yuusuke calls, snapping his fingers in front of the fire demon’s face.
Hiei shoved his hand away and pushed away from the wall, Yuusuke taking a step back to give him room. Wanting to pace back and forth to clear his mind, run from here to the boundary that led to the Makai and then back, but unable to do anything but stand rooted at the spot. His hands tucked in his pockets, eyes searching the cracks in the pavement and the dirt beneath the soles of his shoes for answers.
“What did he say?”
Yuusuke tilted his head. “About the name?”
Hiei’s silence is an answer but Yuusuke’s silence is damning. FInally, the spirit detective’s presence is felt by his side and his arm comes to rest around his shoulders.
“No idea, he was with Yukina when he did the final check-up to make sure it was ‘something you would agree with’,” Yuusuke said, air quoting with his fingers, a smile on his lips as he glanced down at Hiei. “He really knows you well, huh?”
Too well. He could only imagine how he would’ve taken this if Kurama had given it to him head on. Mukuro might have been a way to soften the blow. To avert his attention, to bring him to a conclusion about something else. He wasn’t sure what part of the fox’s plan that his embarrassment played a role in but here he was.
“Hey, Hiei. Can I ask you something?”
“Didn’t you already?”
He could practically hear Yuusuke’s eyes rolling around in their sockets, and the light tap to his shoulder brings his attention to the mazoku who looks down at him with this unreadable expression. There’s fondness somewhere in his eyes but other things as well. He’d seen it a few times: in Maze Castle after he decided to spare their lives from the falling ceiling, in the Dark Tournament when he returned from his bout with the Dragon of the Darkness Flame, and shortly after Yuusuke’s resurrection.
“Spit it out already.”
Yuusuke smiled. “Do you see us as family?”
“What?”
Yuusuke shrugged as if what he was asking so casually was easy for him to reply to. “Do you see us as family? All of us, even Kuwabara. I know you put up a tough act, but deep down, you’re a big softie. I’m not gonna tell anybody, so lemme know. To you, are we your family?”
Family.
The only family that he’d ever registered was Yukina and even that was tentative. When he resolved never to tell her, it was out of wanting to protect her, true. But also fear that he’d be rejected by the one person that he knew was of his blood. No, something about that didn’t seem right. He didn’t want to be rejected by her for another reason —
Something that gnawed at him, twisted at his insides, made it difficult to breathe but the thought of her smile eased the tension. His thoughts wandering to Mukuro, her words from before, the look in her eyes — that unreadable expression. Why hadn’t he changed the contact name in his phone from ‘Mom’ to her name?
What did that mean ?
He found alongside them because it was in his best interests, yes, but that didn’t feel like the whole truth. There was something else lurking beneath the surface. Something that he’d been turning away from, ignoring, bellying in hopes to keep this . Yet here was Yuusuke, looking at him with those eyes and asking him — offering him this .
“Why does it matter to you?”
Yuusuke shrugged. “My mom had me when she was younger, and we didn’t really talk to a lot of my family, then I got you guys and I just thought ‘hey’, what else do I need I guess.”
Slipping his arm from around Hiei’s shoulders, he walks out of the alleyway with his hands tucked in his pockets, sparing a glance over his shoulder before he disappears around the corner.
“And by the way, I think we’ve known each other long enough that I can get what you’re trying to say even when you don’t say it.”
Hiei highly doubted that but the knowing look in Yuusuke’s eyes said something else.
“If I had to pick a brother, I’d choose you without a doubt,” he says.
Hiei’s left speechless as he turns the corner and leaves. The gentle chime of the front door telling him that the mazoku went back into the shop. Leaving him not only to his turmoil but to sort out this warmth in his chest.
Brother .
He leans against the wall of the shop, waiting in the alleyway as he tries to sort out his thoughts when the feeling of a cool breeze brings his attention to the Ice Maiden standing a few inches away from him. The afternoon sun’s glow illuminates Yukina’s being in a golden halo and Hiei almost looks away but he forces himself to meet her gaze. She tilts her head and turns on her heel with a smile, quietly beckoning him to follow and follow he does. They fall into step, walking on the fairly empty streets, their shadows overlapping as they go.
It’s quiet just as Hiei likes it. A silence that he’s grown accustomed to with his sister. Despite the decades of history between them with looking and seeking one another out, the mountain of lies they’d been told and convinced themselves of, they could still have this. Even if their relationship would never be perfect — this was more than Hiei could have ever dreamt of.
“I heard that you got your phone,” Yukina says, her gaze sweeping over him. “Did you happen to look at the different names?”
Hiei nodded and glanced towards her. “I changed yours from Yukina to ‘Sister’.”
The surprise shows on her face and she tries to hide her smile by averting her gaze. Hiei smiles faintly. That look suited her and he found that he preferred it to the others that she wore. For a moment, they walk in silence, crossing a bridge overlooking a river that flowed through town. Yukina’s pace slowed and Hiei stopped, looking back over his shoulder. She stood close to the bridge’s railing, her hands resting upon it as she stared out at the honey gold sky. The setting sun shimmering on the horizon amidst the buildings.
Bathed in the orange-gold, she looked much younger than Hiei knew they both were. He turned on his heel to walk to her side and leant forward, resting his arms on the railing and looking into the horizon.
“...Did you know the name that was input for Kurama?”
Yukina nodded slowly. “I thought it was fitting, do you not?”
“I don’t know,” Hiei admitted, a stray gust of wind ruffling his hair and for a moment, all he saw was darkness when his eyes slipped shut to focus on the warmth of the sun and the coolness of the wind on his skin. “Today has been… questionable.”
“How so?”
Hiei shrugged. “I have been noticing odd things about myself, about my heart , the world around me. It feels as if everyone else knows something that I should know and they’re hinting to it like some long-held secret.”
Yukina hummed softly in reply and it took Hiei a moment to realize how similar they were. From their mannerisms to their slight quirks when in conversation. It was jarring when he tried to remember that Yukina, despite being almost the polar opposite of him, was his sister in every way.
“We’ve known each other for a long time, brother, everyone knows that rushing you into something isn’t right. So they try to ease you into it, into this ,” she explained gently, and Hiei opened his eyes to look at her.
“ This ?”
Yukina shrugged with a slight smile, looking toward him. “Family.”
There it was. That word again. The fluttering feeling returned and he braced himself for it, looking away. It was easier to look down at the river waters and try to distract himself with the sounds. Yet, he could feel Yukina’s gaze on him, the weight of it reminding him just how alike they were.
“Did it ever cross your mind that I wanted to know?” Yukina asked. “That I wanted to know that you were my brother?”
Hiei’s head jerked upright and whipped around to look at her. She stood with a hand clasped tightly to her chest, facing away from the sunset.
“I understand that you may have had your reasons, I worried about what my brother would think of me when he’d lived a life so hard compared to mine —”
Opening his mouth to refute that, Yukina’s steadfast gaze silenced him.
“And then I met you. You told me that suffering can’t be compared, that I should do for myself, and the evidence kept piling up but I was just waiting for you to say something. You didn't, so I took the advice — the advice that could only come from a brother .”
Hiei swallowed thickly, a lump in his throat as he felt the acclimation of this .
“So did it ever cross your mind, brother? That I might love you despite what you’ve done?”
His eyes widened and the world seemed to tunnel around the edges to where all he could see was her. One hand lingering on the railing while the other hung uselessly at his side.
“Where… where is this coming from?”
“I just felt that it needed to be said instead of waiting around.”
“I thought… I was doing what was best for you so that you would be happy,” Hiei muttered, but the words that he’d once clung to now felt like a useless and flimsy excuse.
Yukina’s eyes softened and she laid her hand on top of his own. Hiei willing his muscles not to tense beneath her hold, his gaze drifting from their hands to her face.
“I would rather be happy with you,” she says, tilting her head with a soft smile. “Because I love you, brother. We all do.”
All.
Their faces appeared in his mind one by one, each distinct from the last, with memories and words that he could attach to each of them. The last being that of a patient man with red hair and green eyes, beneath which lied silver and gold, and that man —
Hiei’s mouth fell open and he felt his heart skip a beat. Slipping his hand from beneath Yukina’s, he stepped forward and pulled her in close to him with a hug. His arms wrapped around her and his head resting on her shoulder, squeezing her as he held her close. She stiffened in his arms for a second then practically melted, resting her hand on his back then smoothing her hands across until she was returning the hug in full.
“Thank you…” Hiei muttered, giving her another squeeze before he pulled back. “..sister.”
A light curved through her eyes and she smiled brightly.
“...You’re welcome, brother.”
The rest of the walk to the Kuwabara household is done in relative quiet but the air shifted between them. Yukina’s hand in his own, their fingers interlaced as they walked, standing close enough that their shoulders are almost melded into one. She looks around the neighborhood, pointing things out to him and he listens to the stories that she has to tell. Once they arrive at the gate, she gives him one last hug and he returns it fiercely. Nearly lifting her off the ground before he lets her go and waits until she’s safely inside to leave.
Pulling his phone from his pocket, he sighed and opened it to the contacts.
He had a call to make.

Run, Hide (It’s Dark Outside)
Y'know, 90% of these random kiss stories involve detective conan or magic kaito characters. Luck of the draw I guess? Either way, they're fun. There's still a few more coming. I just want to space them out.
For the prompt: Heiji – Kurama: Creepy
*
The body in front of him had, so far as Heiji could see, the right number of limbs and all the internal organs one would expect to find in an eviscerated corpse. Said organs gaped like the spilled guts of a fish onto the grass, adding to the scent of blood with the noxious smell of open bowels. The corpse had two blank eyes, and a mouth open in a death snarl. Two arms, two legs. The general shape was right, but that was as close to human as the body got. Reddish brown skin was flecked with stiff hairs like a boar, and the jaw of it had tusks. The nose shape was too flat, the rest of the teeth too sharp, and its hands had what appeared to be claws.
This was only the second time Heiji had ever run across something like this (and boy had he tried to forget the first time). The last time he’d been in middle school, and he’d been firmly removed from the case as a special police unit took over.
Unlike that time, this corpse was fresh. He didn’t have the slightest clue who else might be in this woods. Heiji had just come here for a vacation. Camping was supposed to be fun.
There’s signs of a fight—scarred trees, a few gauges in the ground, a clear line of blood spatter, bits missing where something had been in the way. Or was it someone? Heiji couldn’t tell what exactly cut the body. It was sharp, but not sharp like a blade. He gave the body one more look. In a pants pocket was an ID.  Despite his appearance in death, Akiyama Inozu looked human enough on his ID. Ugly as heck with a smushed looking face, but not someone Heiji would have given a second glance if he ran into him on the street, and well within the normal range of Asian skin and hair color.
Who did you call with shit like this? Police? A priest? Regardless, someone was dead. There was an old guy who owned the camp ground, Heiji supposed, but he’d left two days ago with some sort of family emergency, so Heiji could probably rule him out as both a suspect and someone to call.
Heiji snapped some pictures with his cell phone on the off chance that he would have to call this in to the police. There was a lot of chances evidence could get lost when you were in the middle of a woods. And since he was in the middle of the woods with a fresh corpse, he had to wonder where the killer had gone. Another camp site? Back to a car and driven away by now? The blood was so fresh it hadn’t even fully congealed. No, this had to have happened very recently. So recently that it was a miracle Heiji hadn’t heard the fight while wandering around.
“If I was a killer, where would I go next?” he muttered. Well, if he was a killer who quite possibly just got sprayed with blood and bits of entrails after disemboweling an opponent, he’d probably want to get clean before someone noticed. Showers were less than fifteen minutes of walking away.
Heiji tucked his phone away and edged around the gore radius of Akiyama’s body. He wasn’t going to be hungry any time soon, that was for sure… There was an uncomfortable feeling settled in his hindbrain as he walked, like he was being watched. If he was being watched, Heiji couldn’t figure out where from. Not a pleasant feeling in the middle of the woods with a dead body. And a murderer somewhere who might or might not be human. He might mock Kazuha’s charms, but that was only because he really didn’t’ want to think about the whole other realm of who knows what going on right under his nose. Yeah. Not fun thoughts.
It didn’t help that it was getting dark.
He had to squint a bit in the forest gloom where it was all shadows now that the sun had slipped behind a hillside. He kept a flashlight on his keychain though, and that helped. At least it did until he swung it up and the iridescent glow of eyes scared him half to death.
“Shit!” The glow, there and gone, was probably an animal. Probably. Heiji was never going camping alone again. Hell, dragging Kudo and his group of kids with him would have been better. Even with Kudo’s karma from hell, they’d at least have company. He could make out the edge of the trees and the showers beyond that. Thank goodness.
He didn’t make it to the clearing. Something tripped him—or he tripped on something, it was a bit unclear. Heiji fell hard face first into a bush. Twigs snagged at his skin and clothing as he tried to get out of it. There was something wrapped around his ankle though, and when he raised the flashlight again, there were the same glowing eyes from before, only there was a face with them and silver hair topped by two pointy dog-like ears. “Fuuuuuck fuck fuck fuck….” He was dead. Kitsune. Was it the evil kind or one of Inari’s? Stupid question since it was probably what took out the other guy. Heiji tugged at his trapped foot. There was a root wrapped around his ankle which shouldn’t even have been possible. Not going anywhere then…
Heiji gave as much of a bow as he could considering he was seated and still half in a bush. You were supposed to be polite to supernatural creatures, right? “Hello kitsune-san. I hope I’m not trespassin’ on yer territory or anythin’…”
The kitsune didn’t answer. Its ears pricked forward and its bright gold eyes never left Heiji though. …was it nine tailed foxes that turned silver? And it was a male fox. The stories mostly had pretty fox women or creepy old men, not scary-pretty demon men. It crept closer. There was something coiled at its waist. A whip? Could a whip eviscerate a boar demon? Or had it been those long claws? Hell, it was probably a magic whip to go with the magic creature in front of him.
“Just a harmless camper here, sir, didn’t know ya had claim a the woods. Uh. Was that guy yer prey earlier?” Woah, it was pretty big up close. Taller than Heiji with way wider shoulders and hell, even free Heiji wouldn’t be able to fight against a demon. Its face looked close. Even prettier close up if you were into sharp eyes, fox ears and fangs. “Uh. Please don’t eat me.”
The kitsune either smirked or it was flashing some fang for threat effect, but it had Heiji’s heart rabbiting faster either way.
“It’s considered a bad idea to take a walk at twilight,” the kitsune said. It crouched over Heiji, its face close enough that Heiji could have touched it if he wanted to. Which considering it meant it was closer in the off chance the demon wanted to rip his throat out, Heiji really would have preferred it further away.
“Y’don’t say,” Heiji said weakly.  He inched back as far as he could with his leg trapped.
“Yes,” the kitsune said conversationally, “you end to see things that’s best left to the imagination.”
“Y’know, I don’t usually imagine corpses. Not without bein’ able to catch who killed ‘em.”
“A bit of a detective, hmm?” The kitsune makes a sound that kind of sounds like a laugh. “Then you’ll sleep easier knowing the demon you found earlier had a death sentence for eating children.”
Heiji’s eyes widened. That whip at the demon’s waist was made of some kind of vine. Hoo boy. He used plants. Heiji was in a fricking forest. If a vine whip could disembowel someone, he hated to know what the guy could do with a tree. “Y’know, not sure if that helps or not,” Heiji admitted.
“He’ll get a trial in the afterlife if that helps.”
Yeeeeah, still not making the murder better. After this Heiji was going to start carrying a sword. Or something. Something that let him feel a little less helpless in this sort of situation. Cary ofuda charms even. Hell, if Kazuha could make omamori that worked, maybe she would have a talent with demon repelling and he should just drag her along if anything gave him the heebie jeebies like he was getting now. Like spiders running up his spine as predatory gold eyes seemed to pick him apart.
For a demon killer, there wasn’t a speck of blood on him. He didn’t smell like blood or death either. If anything he smelled like roses, and wasn’t that a head trip. Heiji couldn’t get any further back or flatter to the ground. He realized there was one kind of kitsune mythos he hadn’t thought of earlier. He swallowed hard as silver hair slid along the hollow of his throat. Gold eyes remained amused right up until Heiji couldn’t see them clearly anymore because his eyes were crossing.
“Detective,” the kitsune said, now all but covering Heiji’s body with his own.
“Yeah?” Heiji squeaked.
“Be more careful what you charge into.”
There was a press of lips against his own, the sensation of fangs hidden behind them, and the world spun out of focus. The last thing he heard before he lost consciousness was a gravelly voice and the kitsune’s responding laughter.
*
“Was that really necessary?” Hiei said.
Kurama laughed. “No, but it was pretty fun.” He let Yoko drain away back into his regular human body. The teenager beneath him was unconscious, knocked out by a toxin Kurama had coated his lips with. He could have taken the ‘innocent human’ approach and knocked the teenager out while he was caught off guard, but it had been infinitely more amusing to pull a prank instead. Kurama was feeling a bit whimsical today; it was nice to be out of the city and surrounded by an old growth forest.
“You shouldn’t have had to catch him in the first place,” Hiei said. “You’re getting sloppy.”
Kurama shrugged. “You were the one who was supposed to dispose of the body.”
“Why burn it if you can feed it to your plants?” Hiei’s eyes flicked away from Kurama’s smirk. He’d probably let the human stumble upon the body in the first place. He resettled his gaze on the teenager in question. “Should we kill him too?”
“Hiei,” Kurama said drily, “that would only lead to more time on our sentences.” He stood, brushing bits of leaf mold off his clothing. “He handled running into a demon pretty well.”
Hiei snorted. “If you call being scared witless handling it well.”
“There was no screaming,” Kurama pointed out. “Not when he saw the body and not when I came out of the trees. I wonder if he’s run into demons before?”
“He has to have some ability if he could tell what you were,” Hiei said. “Am I wiping his memory or are you?”
“Your methods are more precise,” Kurama said.
“Lazy fox.”
Kurama stood aside and let Hiei at it.
“Hmm,” Hiei muttered as he reached out. “He’s got a luck charm on him.”
“Strong?”
“Strong for an amateur,” Hiei said. He put a hand on the teenager’s head. Behind its wrappings, the Jagan eye opened and glowed violet. “All done. He won’t remember anything.”
“I’ll take him to his campsite, you take care of the body?” Kurama suggested.
“Fine, but you have to do the report to Koenma.”
“Fair enough.”

Heiji woke with a bad enough headache that he wondered if he’d raided his dad’s liquor stash again. He was face down on his sleeping bag with no recollection of how he’d gotten there. He could have sworn he’d gone for a walk…
Ugh, next time he felt like escaping the world for a bit he’d escape a little less. Maybe bring someone along. Like Kazuha. That seemed like a really good idea for some reason. He had the strangest feeling he should apologize to her about something. He rolled over and pulled his pillow over his head to block out the sunlight glowing through the tent walls. He’d get up when his head stopped throbbing.
(Later Heiji found some alarming photos on his phone and felt very glad to be alive and even more terrified at his memory gap. He was never going to say a bad word toward superstitions again and he totally owed Kazuha an apology. And maybe a gift because her luck charm seemed to have pulled another miracle.)
