Hello there! I hope you’re doing well, I was wondering if you could do a few head cannons or a ficlet (whichever you prefer) where the brothers (and/or dateables) find out that MC is multilingual.

I’m mostly thinking in the context that they didn’t know before and suddenly hear MC speaking said language, but you can change that if you prefer of course! Or not do the request entirely if this idea doesn’t strike your fancy.

Lucifer

When he first hears it, he’s sure he’s just tired. He’s never heard you speak any other language before. Surely his mind is playing tricks on him. Starts thinking he must really need to take a break like everyone is always saying.

If you do it again, then he’ll ask. MC, are you multilingual? Demonstrate all the languages you speak. However many it is, he's impressed. He wants to know the details of how you learned this language. Tell him more about it.

He will ask you to teach him the language so he can speak it with you. Really loves it when he gets fluent and can carry on conversations with you that other people don’t understand. He will say all kinds of things with the sole purpose of making you blush.

Lucifer will find records of music that’s sung in languages you know. Might ask you for a translation of the lyrics, but mostly just wants to share the experience with you. Sit with him in the music room to listen and he won’t be able to stop himself from holding you close, whispering sweet sayings that you've taught him in your ear.

Mammon

Woah! MC! Since when could ya speak more than one language? You’re always surprising him with the things you can do!

He will ask you to teach him all the swear words. Says them to Lucifer under his breath more because it makes you laugh than because he really means it.

Wants to know the circumstances in which you learned this language. Is it your native tongue? Or did you just learn a whole new language for some reason? Either way you had to learn a second language at some point and that sounds like a lot of work. Wouldn’t do it himself but he’s impressed that you could.

Actually picks up parts of the language pretty easily. Depending on how often you use it around him, Mammon will be able to imitate your most used phrases. He’ll say stuff without knowing what it actually means, he’s just repeating you. If you tell him what it means and how to use it, it will just become part of his own speech from that point on. Only says lovey things when the two of you are alone.

Leviathan

The first time he hears you speaking it, he’s confused. What was that? Did you just speak in a different language? Quick, MC! Tell him all the different languages you know!

Instantly wants to hire you to translate any media that’s in a language he can’t speak. Video games, manga, shows, movies, even songs! If you insist on teaching him so he can do it himself, he’ll actually be excited to learn. Teach him everything!

Absolutely will watch movies and shows in any languages you speak with you. He’s gonna need subtitles. He’ll ask you about how accurate the subs are. Makes you go through every single line and complains about any inaccuracies you guys find. Posts your translations in online forums.

Talk to him in your language and he’ll be flustered even if he has no idea what you’re saying. You could be telling him to clean his room, but it sounds so romantic? Now he’s blushing like crazy. Levi actually really likes to hear you speak to him in a different language. If he's learning it for himself, he won't get as flustered if he knows what you're actually saying. Either way, he's going to hesitantly ask you to say it again.

Satan

You’re sitting near each other somewhere when you ask a question out loud in a different language. Without looking up or missing a beat, Satan answers your question in the same language. Several moments pass before the two of you look at each other in surprise. Then you both launch into a conversation in that language about how surprised you are that the other person knows it.

This guy has spent many years learning all kinds of languages and that includes human world ones. His main goal was to be able to read books in their native languages rather than translations. But it turns out he’s just good at it so he speaks pretty fluently too.

Now that he knows this about you, he’s almost always talking to you in a language the others doesn’t understand. Finds it especially entertaining to discuss his prank ideas with you while Lucifer is sitting right there.

Do not think for one second that he’s not going to take this opportunity to recite poetry in that language to you. Blushes the whole time, but does it anyway. Please indulge him, MC. You are the only one who can truly appreciate these romantic lines.

Asmodeus

Did he just hear you speaking in a different language? Oh, MC, you’re so full of surprises! He has no idea what you just said, but he is swooning! Please flirt with him in your language, he’s really going to fall even harder for you now. You could say anything but if you do it in the right tone of voice you will get a dramatic reaction from him.

Teach him how to say “I love you” and things like “hug me” and “kiss me.” Know that once you do, he’ll be saying them to you all the time. Asmo might ask you to teach him some insults, too, just so he can use them on unsuspecting demons who have no idea what he's saying.

Designs some clothes with sayings in your language on them. Won’t tell anyone what they mean - he only knows because you told him. But everybody else is just going to have to wonder about it! This is a secret between the two of you! (Well, and everybody else who speaks that language… but that is not the point.)

Might start learning the rest of the language without you knowing. Gets Satan to help him. Then when you’re alone with him he starts saying a whole speech about how much he loves you. Giggles happily at the look on your face before kissing you.

Beelzebub

The first time he hears you, he thinks he must have heard wrong. Blinks in confusion. What was that you said, MC? He’s not sure he heard you right. Explain to him that you were actually speaking a different language and he’ll be even more surprised.

He wants to know more about it. Where did you learn it and why? Beel asks you about the names of food. He doesn’t want to learn them necessarily he just wants to hear you say them.

If you tend to refer to a specific food in the other language, he will start calling it that too. Just straight up replaces that word in his vocabulary. Might do this for non food related things as well. Pretty much just does that thing where he picks up little words and phrases from you simply because he's absorbed it from being around you so much.

He likes to listen to you speak in a different language, even if he can't understand anything you're saying. Might ask you to say anything just so he can listen to the sound of your voice. You could read a dictionary to him and he would be all about it. Content to just sit quietly and listen.

Belphegor

The only one who doesn't even notice at first. It's not that he doesn't care, it's just that it doesn't even register. For some reason, it seems perfectly normal to him that you speak multiple languages. He considers you to be a smart person, someone on Satan's level, and Satan knows several languages, so why wouldn't you?

After he hears you using that language a few times, he gets curious. He doesn't know what you're saying, but he does realize if you're using the same language, especially in the same context. Always letting out a string of it when you hurt yourself? Maybe you rant in that language when you're frustrated? He recognizes the sound of it.

Now he's going to ask you about it. What language is this, MC? Tell him about it, please. He'll ask you to teach him how to say things like "take a nap with me" and "Lucifer sucks." The first time he says that last one, Satan does a spit take.

Belphie will ask you to sing in your language. He wants to hear some songs that were originally written in it. He's especially interested in lullabies. If you sing him one, he'll fall asleep on your lap pretty quickly. Might get needy and ask you to sing to him every night.

Scenes from the trailer I'm tweaking about

OK y'all🤓

I've gone back to rewatch the Only Friends trailer and have decided to make a post about the scenes that I'm most excited for given that we're only half way through the series and we've already gotten a lot of what's in the trailer☝️

Let's begin!

Nick and Sand's Conversation (about Boston??)

Thus far we have only seen Sand and Nick as allies, which makes sense considering they're roommates. We even had Nick call out Boston for what happened at the apartment on Sand's Bday👀. So the fact that there will be an inevitable confrontation between the two is really intriguing me and I hope it'll happen in the next few episodes!

2. Nick kissing this person we haven't seen yet

TBH I've been on the lookout for this scene since the beginning, and the fact that everything that has gone down still hasn't led us here, makes me SO excited for Nick's character, and what they have in store for Boston's (hopefully) downfall🧏‍♀️ Also note that the back ground seems to be some sort of video/movie studio, so is Boston's downfall going to broadcast more than we think??

3. Another SandRay screaming match

Ok listen... I'm a sucker for a good love story, but I'm also fan of the chemistry these two have in angsty situations😭. We've only seen a couple of scenes of them fighting thus far, but they have a way of showing their passion for each other, even in their fights. That being said, Sand is my favorite character, so I'm worried for what's to come but also super excited that he's officially getting his hands dirty.

4. Sand and Ray in a TINY bath tub

I hope this bathtub is bigger than it looks😭 Honestly, it throws me a bit off that the audio behind this scene in the trailer is from a scene that has already happened in the series, so I feel even more impatient hehe. It makes me intensely curious as to the context and aftermath of this specific scene. Look how cute they are🥺.

5. What seems to be a SandRay confession of feelings

I can't even lie to you guys, this is DEFINITELY the scene that I am looking forward to the most. Intense eye contact, lapel holding, inches apart, and heavy breathing. It literally does not get better than that😫. Even if they don't date after expressing their feelings to each other, at least an acknowledgment that they feel the same things and are both on the same page would be nice. Lord help me the week I have to wait for this knowing it's in a preview😀 .

Luigi and the Beast Chapter 15

Oh? What's this? A second update to this story, but this time an actual chapter with Luigi in it???

Ha. I posted earlier that I was planning on posting today, so here it is! It's a fairly long one, too, almost 20k words. There is no Bowser, sadly, but there is plenty of Luigi and the Koopalings (and Junior) interaction, so hopefully y'all will like it.

A warning, though... there is talk about a potential past suicide attempt. I say potential since it is unclear in the text whether or not suicide was the intent. I posted about it on my Tumblr if you want to see the context, but I would recommend reading it after reading the chapter, or else it might not make a lot of sense.

Anyway... I hope y'all enjoy! No idea when/if the next chapter will be, but I'll keep y'all updated!

Summary:

Luigi is a simple man who lives a simple life. Every day is the same as the last, with nothing ever happening that changes the status quo. While some may think his life is boring, Luigi enjoys it well enough, relishing in the simple monotony, not needing endless adventure and excitement to make his life have meaning.

Heyo, glittercats and kittens! So chapters 6 and 7 of an echo, a stain are up! And starting this week, I'm going to start including story notes along with the link.

I'm a note writer lol. Part of how I even begin to keep track of all the wildness of writing something longer than a grocery list is to write about it before I start writing it, if that makes sense lol. Character sketches, ideas about why certain things are happening, backstory, setting details, etc.

I'm pretty verbal about my writing process because -- well, I like writing about writing a lot, and also, I think it improves both the work and how I get there. Anything might end up here -- character sketches, ideas about why certain things are happening, backstory, setting details, etc. I don't really wanna be leaving like eighteen thousand words of notes on every chapter, so here we are!

Sometimes I think they might add some interesting context for readers, sometimes it's information that I think is important but it's too much for the notes section on the story itself, and sometimes it's just so I have a document of my progress for this story. So here are my notes for chapter 7! ---

Chapter 7's title is from "Come to Me" by Bjork, which is definitely one of my Astarion / Tav falling in love themes for when I'm up in these flashbacks, back before Astarion Ascended (and he still had a soul loool).

The notes from previous chapters had promised a Shadowheart & Tav conversation in this chapter. This is not the Shadowheart & Tav chapter I promised, but it is the one that continued to demand to be written until I capitulated.

And also, honestly, the one that's going to benefit that other chapter that was supposed to be 7 and the story as a whole in the long run, so I hope you like it!

I was getting really stuck with my original plan, and so I just started writing -- well, this. And the chapter after this. And possibly the one after that. Loooool there is a LOT going on at this point in these kids' lives.

The original plan is still 100% happening, but I think I needed to

1. explore the foundations of who these people have become (by these people of course I mean Tav and Astarion, but also friendship is magic, so our beautiful OG friendgroup babies)

2. what the relationships between them look like and

3. some clues, at least, as to how they got there.

(tl;dr we're purposefully time-jumping, and I'm having fun with it, so I hope you will, too!)

But never fear, Shadowheart and Tav will of course be chatting when we return to the story's present. And it won't be in just one chapter.

hey y'all, we're gonna be doing some purposeful (and hopefully at least coherently executed) flashing back and jumping forward (or up! or laterally! OR WHATEVER) in/on/around this story's timeline!

Final note, but an important one, on Tav's identity:

I tried to keep Tav ambiguous for the first few chapters because I know that sometimes a really detailed and specific-looking or backstoried Tav can make people disengage from the story because they don't relate to the identifying details provided. (also, it's me, I'm people, or at least one of the people lol)

But at the end of the day, as soon as I started even thinking about writing a BG3 fic, I started really digging into and developing this Tav, who does reflect the dialogue, action, and relationship choices I've made in my current playthrough of the game with her, yes. But in having spent / continuing to spend some time thinking and writing about who this Tav is. I'm not going to lay them all out here, but I think when you want to play in a sandbox as fucking ginormous and intricately, infinitesimally detailed as Faerun / The Forgotten Realms / DnD, a little story/character-relevant contextual frontloading can help readers have as much fun with it as the writer does.

Also, and I'm just going to say it, Tav is a queer, first-generation Baldurian child of two immigrants. She's the Faerun / Baldur's Gate equivalent of a BIPOC, with parents who were born in places very different both from Baldur's Gate and each other's home cities / kingdoms. Also, she's mixed-heritage elf (sun, moon, sea -- yeah, I'm that guy, come at me bro loooool). All this context is key to who Tav is as a person, as a creator, as an adventurer, and just in general.

I want anyone to be able to read Tav and be able to understand who she is, if not be able to relate to some small part of her -- but in my mind, people like Tav are essential to the story of a place like Baldur's Gate, and I really enjoy exploring what that looks like.

I'm having fun with it, so I hope you will, too!

ill try to assign them a person and give them a bit of an arc i think.......... in other words ill try to map out what i would do with them if they were in the actual story as another pov >:))

billie: in my mind she is definitely one of the more obvious candidates for a story like this just because soooo much of her character depends on other people and how they influence her personality... and because of this there are a LOT of options regarding who could take her in. i would most likely write her arc around getting better rather than getting worse LMFAO which means a few people would get crossed off of the list right off the bat--- immediately coming to mind is the hiyoko/mahiru/ibuki gang for some reason. i think theres a lot to explore there !!! billie could definitely take influence from ibuki's style, her impressionability/mirroring of other people's personality could definitely lead to trouble around hiyoko considering they are both stressed out, mahiru would be in so much strife about suddenly getting shucked into this caretaker role she's been so adamant on escaping since her killing game and there would be a LOT of parallels to hiyoko there. especially since yknow. billie is copying hiyoko a bit. i can see those three taking in this moody ass teenager with so many illnesses. so many awful influences its great

erin: OK so i am going to assume this is a situation where every season 50 participant is 16-17 again in this hypothetical scenario where they run from the hospital LOL. dear god i can see erin SPRINTING away. im gonna give her to sayaka on this one hands down. sayaka finds erin dead at night just walking absolutely nowhere with this very disorienting smile on her face LMAOO. i think erin's arc in this story would absolutely benefit from somebody who is able to relate to her as a performer and somebody who has this "persona" they need to maintain. erin is such a huge personality and her whole crisis is so huge that her guardian definitely needs to mirror her and learn from her or else they'll get a bit washed away i reckon ghdfksjghfdkjg. i can see the sayaka+erin pairing SO clearly too... like this is a sayaka who has been performing this character for years, probably to the extent where she hardly realises it anymore. throwing erin in with her, a teenage girl with identity issues that managed to actually go through with a plan that sayaka had during HER killing game .....Oughg. i can see them getting so stressed out by each other and i can see them getting just so sad at everything theyve lost

mika: hmmmmmmmm. mika is definitely one of the more practical characters and i dont think she would be hit as TERRIBLY hard as her classmates with the whole "we aren't real" thing. in fact there might even be a bit of relief from it at first. like...... youre telling me one of my biggest insecurities isnt even real because ultimate talents dont even really exist??? AND i dont have to get locked into one interest my entire life??? she's absolutelyyy traumatised and fucked up however i don't really think she'd leave that hospital in the first place LMFAO, i think she's smart enough to realise she doesnt stand much of a shot against team dr. if she made it out she would get paired up with another one of her classmates (like a ryoma+rantaro situation) anddddddddd hm. hm hm. imposter could be very very interesting. here is somebody that is constantly changing, never set in stone, and here is a teenage girl who is stubborn in her own reality and has come to realise her place in life a WHILE ago

naomi: this scenario is so so funny because it implies that somebody CAUGHT her hgfkdghfkdgkjfhgsdkl. there's not a doubt in my mind that she went sprinting out those doors the second she woke up from the simulator but naomi has always been a character with one foot out the door ready to leave. NEVER in one spot. especially in a postgame scenario, where she is extremely traumatised and honestly experiencing psychosis, it's hard to imagine her willingly going home with a stranger.... i think her scenario would DEFINITELY be a bit unconventional, with her constantly leaving and returning. akanes arc to the extreme HFGKGJ. i'll treat this as if naomi would be added to the existing narrative, meaning whoever her "guardian" is can't be EXTREMELY similar to akane so the whole "running away" theme would come second to themes of culpability and punishment i think. she would benefit from having somebody that also felt immeasurably guilty hmmmmmm. i can honestly see hajime. he's already busy as hell with everything he has to do for team dr, only to have to take time out of his day to help this tall ass teenager. their meet would have to be REAL unconventional in order for naomi to have stopped enough for him to help her lmao. as in "she ran out in the middle of the road in the middle of the night during some kind of panicked haze and he very nearly ran her over" type of unconventional. he patched her up, gave her some water and she was GONE. and then she comes back two days later like Heyyy 😍 So about that Guilt

rie: first things first i would throw her with ryobe hands down HGDFK. the amount of hijinks those two could get up to. fantastic. they would really benefit from having each other around and their friendship could be beautiful and real. with that being said these two are definitely a bit more difficult to pair with people just because immediately they have similar arcs to erin and naomi with both of them having difficulty accepting their identities and (ESPECIALLY RYOBE HERE) dealing with punishment/culpability. they would also need more than one guardian i think........ just for ryobe alone LMFAO. i reckon a few season one people could know about them tbh. for the most part they stay with aoi and her kid, which opens up a LOT of interesting avenues concerning whether rie and ryobe should leave for the sake of the kid's safety!! aoi and rie would pretty easily get along, especially if they both kinda keep each other at arms length with their people pleasing personalities they've accumulated over the years (aoi having developed it during her time as a team dr spokewoman). and then one day rie gets caught in complete distress and aoi realises "Oh Huh y'know what maybe this constant stress to perform under threat of violence against both me and my family isn't Healthy" and they both start trying to have more fun. go to the beach or smth. aoi swims for the first time in AGES and she has a total blast

ryobe: soooooooo fucked up postgame and would definitely stress aoi and rie out further without a doubt ghfdskg!! especially so close to the reveal that everything isnt real ryobe would definitely be in complete denial angie style. but more in a "hahahahahaha none of that actually happened!!! that was my brain playing tricks on me and actually i can hardly remember it anyways now that i think about it!!!!! this is definitely because it WASN'T real and NOT because my body is trying to protect me against everything that happened to me". he just reverts back to this goofy guy who always seems like he's on the verge of SOME kind of breakdown, and rie would be no help to him in those first few days, likely going as far as to AFFIRM nothing happened just to keep him from running off without her. i can see aoi bringing in some help for him--- it would probably be another survivor and i can REALLY imagine the dynamic between him and toko. komaru loves him but toko HATES his annoying ass ghfdkjghsdfkghgfjkdsg. they would definitely have a looooooong chat at some point that sends ryobe on the right track. also side note ryobe would be fantastic with aoi's kid however he would definitely teach that toddler a bunch of stupid pranks

sae: so sae is 34 which means she would definitely be the guardian in this scenario gdfjkg so it comes down to which v3 kid would make for an interesting parallel hmmmm hm hm.... immediately coming to mind is kaito. i can see himiko joining him potentially. sae is somebody who has trained herself to be extremely patient and believes anger to be a weakness of sorts. enter kaito who believes the only "strong" emotion he can convey right now is anger because he would be DAMNED if he started crying about that killing game gfhsdjgk. they'd have a lottt to learn from each other, and i think the entire scenario would definitely push sae to a lot of her limits. i mentioned himiko just because her arc of emotional repression could be a mirror to sae possibly, but because this is a postgame scenario i think himiko would be SO absolutely fixated on being seen as useful and helpful and energetic that she throws herself into whatever work sae can give her. and of course sae the workaholic has a lot of work to give her LMFAO. they pass out at the same time

yoshito: similar to mika it's hard to imagine him leaving the simulator just because he is the protagonist and they'd be keeping an eye on him however if he DID. he would need somebody who is constantly in his ear like Aren't you mad .....Don't you want to go apeshit ......mondo and leon are coming to mind. they're really teaching that kid how to let loose. shatter some glass, go fucking wild!!!! and while we're at it, let's all examine how our reckless behaviour might be a method of self harm we have developed for ourselves after our killing game but make sure not to tell the kid ok. make sure nobody tells yoshito, who has been trained on helping people his entire life and just needs to think about himself for ONCE

andi: hhehehehhehehehheh. computer thang. even though she is ageless there is no universe where she becomes a guardian and it's really really funny to think that somebody grabbed her computer chip and ran. i think it HAS to be chihiro. something fantastic and vaguely homosexual going on there

It is definitely a *very* contextual and nuanced thing. I'm on the fence about outright calling it a micro-aggression.

In a [very specific context], I do generally agree that it is... iffy at best. By "not trying to be cute"-- I'm assuming (please correct me if need be/genuine) you mean someone who hasn't expressed an "okay" to call them cute and isn't doing something for the purpose of being cute. Just checking because to me, it's very broad, and i just want to be sure I'm understanding.

And also depending on the history of how the person uses that word with others. Is it only Asian women they call "cute" in mundane contexts? Hopefully this makes sense.

I generally have a difficult relationship with the whole "cuteness thing." And "trying to be cute" vs. "not trying to be cute" is just a very confusing phrase for me because I don't often remember the times I've made the conscious effort to be or not to be cute until recently. And how others are to tell if I'm trying or not. So sorry. English and constructing concise words is not my strong suit, and I really hope I don't come off as rude! I genuinely wanna hear your thoughts.

You're not coming off as rude at all! And yeah this is a very nuanced conversation. I'm mostly coming from the perspective of a 2nd/3rd generation immigrant, whose watched a lot of my friend's hardwork get brushed off/devalued because they're Asian women, and are thus infantilized due to that.

I feel like the context of my post would probably make it more clear; I was watching an Asian American youtuber whose talked about not being taken seriously due to her being an Asian woman, and generally having her accomplishments and personality devalued because of it. -

- The thing is I scrolled down to her comment section and the top comment was "OMG THIS GIRL IS SO CUTE !!." When she was a.) a grown-ass woman, and b.) decorating her apartment (nature theme, nothing that would warrant "cute"). So it immediately set-off alarm-bells in my head to other times where my friends would be called "cute" for literally just existing. (Not including myself here cause it's happened to me personally very few times, since I've been butch my whole life.)

Also I didn't specify this because I didn't think it would be important, but I mean "cute" like "adorable." Not "cute" like "pretty."

With the "trying to be cute" thing, I meant in a way where a person is purposefully embracing childish/young aesthetics and behaviors to be cute. Or like, embracing cute culture if that makes sense? I bring it up because I've seen a lot of EA female content creators online being labeled "cute" even if they're doing the exact same thing as they're non-EA peers, who are almost never described that way.

That's just my relationship with the word though, where I've seen it been used enough times in an objectifying way where I consider it a micro-aggression, in some contexts. To me, it's just a good idea to stay away from using "cute" if you can use any other positive adjective.

I think what I'm trying to say is that it's people focusing on the appearance/stereotypes of Asian women rather than their actual identity or personality; ie objectification/orientalism.

I've grown up in a culture that has a long history of objectifying, westernizing, and commercializing Asian cultures into this fictional monolith; where removing Asian women of their agency is a huge part of that. So "cute" as a compliment, and as a label holds a lot of weight for me.

I'm happy to clarify anything else btw, hope this makes sense lol

My Fallout Writing Projects + Ideas

Alright, here's a list of the things I have for anyone interested in my plans and dumb thoughts.

I'm only trying to actively work on my main stories atm, but I hope to get to a few of my side stories at some point too - probably as palette cleaners between writing my bigger projects.

Main Stories

Give Me Sanctuary

Fallout 4 retelling. It's a huge project that's gonna cover pretty much all of the in-game content retold as a story, as well as changing things so that they make more sense both for being told as a story instead of a game that has to have a certain amount of tracks, and just in general for the things that don't make too much sense as they are atm. Multiple POV, centered on my OC built from the base female player model - Nora.

Tons of additions too. Companions will all have even more of a personal story and conclusions, relationships of all kinds will be explored, and background characters will be fleshed out, including bringing in some NPCs that are basically nobody or barely exist in-game beyond a mention, etc.

It's gonna be long, it's gonna be very self-indulgent, and it's gonna take me time, but time passes anyway and I'm gonna have fun putting it all together. It's for me.

Icarus Into Acheron

Fallout 3 story all about Alberta. I'll probably have to make this one while working on GMS as it would help make sense of things when Al shows up in Nora's story - though that won't be until somewhere around the final third or quarter. It won't be as long as GMS either, as I won't be going into the whole of Fo3 or hopefully doing too many massive rewrites to the games' story.

Mostly covers leaving Vault 101 to taking down the Enclave and the changes and challenges Al faces between then. There will still be a lot of the side quest stuff included as Al works their way around the Capital Wasteland gaining caps and contacts, but I'll also likely be leaving some of the side quests and DLC stuff for smaller additional stories rather than having them all together. They need things to do during their wandering phase after all.

While I said earlier that it would help make sense of Al's background and personality, I won't say that it would be required reading as IIA will have themes of SA which some might not be comfortable reading (it'd be dub-con moreso than non-con but that's a personal line to draw and I feel a warning is still needed). While violence in general isn't something I'll be shying away from in GMS, IIA will certainly be a much darker story overall mostly because of these themes and their impact on Al and the story.

But don't worry if you wouldn't want to read that, there will still be a certain level of explanation going on in GMS for Nora (and the reader) to understand the situation anyway. It just gives a deeper look into how everything came to be in relation to what's going on with Al. Writing the actual story down mostly helps me know what is concrete about it all - there's a lot I hesitate to say is canon about my OCs and stories until it's written down in full context and I don't hate it.

Side Stories

These may not happen in the orders listed - or some at all depending on how the main stories go. They're just ideas I have so far that don't fit into the main stories, usually because they don't happen in the timeframe of them.

Icarus Related

The Pitt - How Al gets caught up in that and deals with it. And it doesn't end any of the ways the game lets you do so because it's dumb and I hate it.

Mothership Zeta - Being kidnapped by aliens is canon to Al.

Point Lookout - Al hanging out with annoying the pants off of Desmond. Would defs have his POV and how he thinks of Al, comparing them to a mutt dog. They're a menace but a menace he can use. It'll be fun.

Harold/Bob might be it's own story. Maybe other interesting side quests that don't fit into the timeframe of IIA.

GMS Related

Danse leading an expedition on the newly refurbished USS Constitution to find wild horses/sleipnir for the Minutemen (Preston's busy and Danse knows more about ships in general). Has a few other companions along for the ride, as well as a lot of crewmembers under his command. Danse has a great time (/sarc).

Captain Zao fixing up the Yangtze so that he can go home, taking a test voyage that leads to Vault 120 - Idea surrounded Nora being the one to go with him (she tells very few people about the submarine) but she might be busy during the timeframe I initially planned for...

How Nora loses her leg several years after GMS.

Series of small prequel fics about the companions lives before the start of Fallout 4 - Origin stories. Things like M7-97 escaping the Institute and becoming Danse, Nicks earlier days out in the wastes and going from handyman to detective, Deacon and Barbara. Stuff like that.

Future fic. The kids have their own adventure. This is where my girl Barbie comes from, but she's not really a main character /doesn't get many if any POVs.

Alternate Universe Stories

Some of these have rough outlines, some are still just collections of ideas. I'm not actively writing any of these since I'm just focusing on my main fic, and some plot points in them won't make sense without being able to reference back to base-game changes and large events in GMS anyway. These essentially go in order of which I have more planned out.

We Dig Two Graves

Part 1: Fools Rush In: The bombs didn't fall. War continues on. Nora, unable to rejoin the JAG now that she's had Shaun and wants to stay close to him, joins the Cambridge police in some way (probs not an officer - need to look into it) and meets human Nick Valentine post the whole Eddie thing.

Very slice of life slow-burn romance with some drama and mystery tossed in. Explorations of love and grief and morality and the burdens of society, culminating in the two eventually going against the law and secretly hunting Eddie and his lot down. Nick and Nora end up having a daughter together - poly with Nate.

Part 2: Where Angels (Fear To) Tread: The bombs do fall! Now several years after when they should have (Shaun is about 3-4).

This time thing doesn't change much else about the world itself besides what explicitly happened in the prequel cause I can't be fucked doing all that. Human Nick went into Vault 111 with Nora and the kids in Nates place because Nate wasn't home and they needed to get to safety. He held onto Shaun while Nora had their daughter with her.

Both Nora and their daughter are stolen by Kellogg, with Nora insisting on being taken with her child rather than putting up a fight, knowing it would likely get her killed.

Nick dethaws later with Shaun and has to venture around the Commonwealth as the 'Sole' Survivor looking for his lost family while balancing looking after his son. Ofc he meets synth Nick, who is still the same as he is in-game and running on the recently post-Winter's End memories, thus he has no idea what happened in the prequel after his conciousness split from human Nick.

Nate is a ghoul, he gets to live in this AU damnit.

There Is No Sky

Something suddenly goes wrong™ with the world. It's a 'the apocalypse turned up' AU. The land goes sour, animals start to die, the air isn't good anymore, and people start turning to cannibalism to survive. It's chaos. It's fun. It's sad. A lot of people, including some companions, die or are maimed in some way. I really abuse a lot of characters in this, but I still plan to give it a 'happy' ending because by god did I want to give these characters back something after all I will put them through.

Blood and Thunder

Overboss Nora AU. Events go slightly differently when Nora goes to Nuka World and she has to take on becoming a raider boss for real this time. As she unites the raiders of the Commonwealth under her banner her former companions are stuck either trying to stop her or still facing down the Institute and their own problems.

At some point she and Maxson form an alliance between her raiders and the Brotherhood against the Institute, hence the title. The story focuses on exploring individuals limits, morality, what a person is willing to give up or do to others to protect what they hold dear, revenge and the idea redemption, etc.

Unnamed Cyberpunk-ish AU

The genre, not that show/game. This one actually mostly revolves around Danse and Hancock, and this world's version of The Railroad, which helps both synths and ghouls.

It's an AU where the bombs never dropped, the war ended, and the fallout pre-war society continued on into an even more futuristic age. However the impacts from the war still play a huge part in how that society functions, including how people went into vaults before they anticipated bombs falling and were still turned into science experiments because they had essentially signed away their rights to vault-tec, ghouls existing in modern society thanks to general radiation pollution and being shunned and hidden or even stolen away by the government, Institute and synth related things not dissimilar to in-game but in some cases more open and backed by the government, space travel (moon and mars), and more.

This is one of the ones that's still more of a collection of ideas than anything concrete yet. General jist is that there's a lot of bad shit happening that's just treated as normal, and Danse wants to go to space. If Nora does show up in this somehow she will probably play a much smaller part and won't be a main character or POV.

Other Stuff

I've got a few one-shot ideas too, but nothing worth mentioning. Honestly, it's mostly smut.

In regards to my Fallout 76 character, Jack, his story won't be done in a stright forward manner. I'm thinking something like journal entries, maybe some visual stuff if I can get the energy. I'm still figuring him out but I have some basic ideas.

As far as New Vegas and other games go, I have no real plans for anything for now. I haven't played them and am sort of holding off while I concentrate on my east coast content. I do want to see them and create some more OCs, but as you can see I have quite enough to keep me occupied for now. I'll probably play NV and create some OC's, but it would be a while before I really got into any stories for them.

Sadly even if they do approach it in a respectful way it's gonna be rushed (as a pregnancy plot could be) because it needs to fit screen time and they have even less time now. It's common to see rushed stuff in every plot (their wedding, their sudden rush to try for a baby, Carina moving back). We gotta make peace with expecting the best thing possible for their context.

A reality of emergency placement, fostering is very credible or even them saying they had considered it for the second baby (given Carina's age it would make sense)

I just want to see that first conection, to hear them voicing what they felt and then just them being happy

Well of course...I think anything they chose to do at this point would be rushed due to the fact that ABC blindsided them with a cancellation that came out of nowhere plus a shortened season due to the strike. These are things that are even out of their hands so we can't really blame them for that. They are going to do the best they can to wrap up these storylines but they can only do so much with what they were given. I think any route they went would've been rushed in a sense because 10 episodes is just going to go by very quickly regardless. But you're right in the sense that a lot of their 'big' plots have been rushed anyway so sadly this won't be much different.

They definitely have ways to make it make sense and have it be a realistic option for the two of them so I just hope they were able to come up with something that is portrayed respectfully and is enjoyable to watch for everyone. I hope we get to see them discuss it and just be the moms they deserve to be and hopefully get to see some of those cute first time mom moments because I know Danielle and Stefania will deliver with whatever material they are given.

The Awakening

It was interesting to re-watch this episode because I remember being annoyed with Aang a lot during Book 3 the first time I watched this show & because the comics/parts of fandom / more thinking about it have increased my dislike for the Katara/Aang romance, I expected to be angrier at Aang. But, I actually feel like thinking about it more made me less mad at Aang for running off & behaving the way he does than the first time I watched.

I still don't think it's fair to send Katara away when she's trying desperately to help, but I get why he does it. Aang has spent the entire series learning to accept his destiny as the Avatar & a huge part of that is being a symbol of HOPE for the world. Learning that he has to be a secret now? That the world thinks that he's gone & that he failed? I can see how that would lead someone to push people away & want to do everything alone...Especially because Aang is also struggling with how awful he feels about the fall of Ba Sing Se. So, I hate how he pushes Katara away, & I hate that he tries to abandon the Gaang, but...I'm still sympathetic to him, possibly more than the first time that I watched, having put more thought into it.

Alright, shocking to no one the dynamic between the Fire Siblings is the most interesting part of this episode to me. I also found the scene where Mai checks on Zuko & tells him not to worry really cute. I need more of the Dangers Ladies Feat. Zuko as a group in my life. I'm sad we didn't see Ty Lee, but I guess there wasn't time. Zuko is struggling with fears about coming home & it shows.

Alright. The turtle duck pond scene. Let's talk about it.

Everyone shut up I am thinking about how cute it is that Zuko goes right to the turtle duck pond to feed them it's probably one of the few places on the palace grounds he finds comforting...

The million-dollar question in the fandom seems to be - did Azula already know that Aang had survived?

I obviously have a bit of an agenda here I won't deny that. I'm a huge fan of Azula. I do think she was redeemable, & I have chosen fire siblings reconciliation as possibly the main focus of my fandom experience or at least A Main Focus. So, like, I'm not gonna pretend to be unbiased. BUT I do think that I've hopefully made it clear that I'm not interested in denying anything evil Azula did, or making her a victim where she wasn't, or whatever. I just like to examine character motivations & make them make sense. So - long story short - I do not think there is any way Azula could have possibly known that Aang survived before Zuko gave it away because he sucks at lying.

Let's look at the scene in context:

Azula: You seem so downcast. Has Mai gotten to you already? Though actually, Mai has been in a strangely good mood lately. [smiles]

Zuko: I haven't seen Dad yet. I haven't seen him in three years, since I was banished.

Azula: So what?

Zuko So, I didn't capture the Avatar.

Azula: Who cares? The Avatar is dead ... [Zuko looks away.] unless you think he somehow miraculously survived.

Contrast this with the way they were both welcomed home - as war heroes. Lo & Li give a huge speech about how Zuko & Azula are heroes & amazing & everyone should love them etc (& they're so right.)

I have consistently brought up Zuko's inability to lie throughout this rewatch & I think it bites him in the ass here. Azula is smart. She's a good lair herself, & she can pick up on it when other people do it - especially Zuko.

So, I think that Azula's original intention was to bring Zuko home as a war hero. She genuinely viewed Ba Sing Se as a victory & believed the Avatar was dead & the Fire Nation was doing amazing & to her, that was great. I think that what people who want to view Azula as an evil mastermind forget is that she kinda still IS one if you read it from this perspective, you just need to keep in mind her ACTUAL motivations. Azula's world doesn't revolve around bringing Zuko down, her world revolves around SERVING THE FIRE NATION & her father. Azula bringing Zuko home a hero doesn't take away her villain card or whatever it is people who refuse to see it this way are worried about. It just remains consistent with her motivations. Azula would want to see the royal family intact. You have to remember, Azula views herself & the Fire Nation as the GOOD GUYS. It's what she's been taught. They're not, & pushing Zuko to betray Iroh was objectively bad for the protagonists. But from AZULA'S perspective, she was doing a good thing for the royal family.

I also do think that yes, Azula wanted to help Zuko. The thing about Azula is that she is on the wrong side of the war, but she's not an unfeeling monster, she's a teenage girl. She likely did miss her brother & think she was doing him a huge favor.

The Bedroom Scene Tm. I said I had a controversial reading & you all assumed I meant Zucest vibes. And I did. But I also actually meant I just STILL don't view this as Azula being an evil monster lmao & I mean, that's not controversial among Azula fans, but it kinda is in the larger fandom.

Zuko confronts Azula, & she teases him & insinuates that the Avatar might be alive. I read this as Azula trying to sus out whether the Avatar is still alive, TBH. Then, Zuko all but confirms what she already got from their turtle duck pond conversation.

So like, TLDR: Azula wasn't ORIGINALLY trying to use Zuko as a fall guy but once he made it obvious the Avatar might still be alive, THEN yeah, she was trying to save her own ass.

Oh, okay, & some quick criticisms of the #Narrative Framing or whatever...This is the first episode where we get a clear view of Zuko. I want to say that I do really love the scene between Zuko & Ozai contrasted against the scene between Katara & Hakoda, that was just an excellent parallel. It also shows us that our main villain is becoming a major player. I'm ok with Ozai as a background figure throughout Book 2, but I think that Book 3 would have been stronger if they leaned more into Ozai as the Big Bad rather than continuing to frame Azula as the Big Bad like she was in Book 2. This season we get a lot more of Azula's interiority as a character, & more sympathetic moments.

And just to be clear, I'm not against the fact that Azula is still a villain. Sorry fellow Azula Redemption truther girlies, but I'm of the belief that there was not time for her to have a redemption arc in Book 3. It could have been hinted at, we could have gotten a more hopeful ending, but there wasn't time for her to abandon her loyalty to the Fire Nation. So, I'm NOT saying "it was time for the show to STOP framing Azula as a villain." I'm SAYING.....Well, they could have given us more scenes with Ozai like the one in this episode to really concrete his spot as the Big Bad Tm. I liked what we got in this episode, I wish we could've gotten more. I guess that's what I'm trying to say.

Alright, so I've rambled enough about the Fire Nation royal family....Uh....There are other characters in this show...

I have nothing much to say about Toph or Sokka in this episode other than that Toph gets +1000 iconic behavior points for using metal bending to defend their ship. Katara gets +1000 for her use of water-bending to help. I don't dislike Sokka in this episode, he just didn't do much worth analyzing.

The only other scene that I want to focus on before I end this incredibly long review.....Is one of my favorite scenes in the series. I love the scene between Katara & Hakoda.

The entire buildup of Katara acting distant & angry from her father & talking about Aang prioritizing the greater good over what she needs & Hakoda realizing that she's talking about him too is just...STELLAR writing. I get emotional every single time. I also think that these feelings Katara is having, serve to explain further why she let Sokka reunite with their father last season rather than going herself.

Katara: [Embraces Hakoda.] I understand why you left. I really do, and I know that you had to go, so why do I still feel this way? I'm so sad and angry and hurt!

Hakoda: I love you more than anything. You and your brother are my entire world. I thought about you every day when I was gone and every night when I went to sleep, I would lie awake missing you so much it would ache.

I'm not crying, you are.

And the ending of the episode serves as a nice thesis for the season. Aang does return to the group & agrees to go undercover. Having to hide his staff & his arrow....That's pretty sad. I think it shows how much Aang has grown throughout the series so far that he is willing to do it though. That's all I have for now!

Hi! I just read the WIP of your game, and I must admit it's one of the most unique premises I've seen so far! Not to mention, I've been enjoying the narration style a lot (and the lack of stat checks is always welcome too!).

I'm already extremely attached to my MC and really curious to see how things will unfold. As for the ROs, well, the Prince is the one that caught my eye from the moment I've read the RO descriptions, and he didn't disappoint. I also like Vynn a lot, but more like in a sibling relationship. I can't help but care a lot about MC's parents too, even if they didn't appear that much.

Now, I have two questions if you don't mind!

First one is about that little think in the description post: "Pick a side early on, play the long con, or refuse to make a choice at all." - if it isn't too spoilerly, just how early will we be able to pick a side and/or tell the truth to at least some people? Not asking for the context or anything! Just an approximation of a chapter or something for the earliers point in which it'll be possible, if you know and are willing to share. I'm planning on having a very honest character fully devoted to his kingdom no matter what, so the situation by the end of chapter 3 where it seems it will "stagnate" for a while makes me a bit uneasy, so to speak. Not saying that in a bad way eh! It would just be my personal preference to end that as soon as possible!

Second one is about how the chapter ends. It felt very sudden, and the last page didn't have any sort of button or anything to go to a "this is the end of the chapter" page or anything, and I'm wondering if maybe something is missing at the end? This is a screenshot of the last page:

To your first question: There will be some decisions you can make in Chapter 4 that will align you more with one side or another, but the first major opportunity to commit to a side will be in Chapter 5. I'll do my best to make Chapter 4 not seem too wishy-washy, since like you some will probably already have chosen what they want to do with their MC. But even then I feel like it makes sense that they would need some time before making these decisions, so I think the pacing will work.

To your second question: Yeahhh, that's a bug. There should've been one more page after that. I tried fixing it earlier, hopefully it should work now (though I don't know what happens if you saved on that page, I'm really sorry if that means you have to replay everything '^^)

Off the top of my head, I would recommend the following issues/arcs for more context on IDW 1 Megatron's overall character development!

It's worth noting that a lot of Megatron's backstory was released somewhat out of order in terms of comic release dates, but below are chronological in terms of Megatron's in-universe personal timeline.

So reading them in this order may not make sense in regards to any larger overarching plot points, but in terms of covering Megatron's backstory, this is more or less a good order to read things in, if you don't mind missing some of the surrounding context for other stuff going on! :)

There is also some skipping around that happens, as MTMTE for example had concurrent release with some other relevant titles, so things are a bit staggered. I've tried to list the below in a reasonably coherent order, as much as possible, but it's unavoidable that there may be some skipping around within the comic narratives as a result of the way some of the comics were released right around the same time as each other, or sometimes years apart! :')

I'm not going to include any of the Spotlight series, as those are one-offs with individual character focuses, but the Orion Pax/Optimus Prime one does touch on some of the early war period; Naturally, Megatron features here and there in a lot of the one-offs and short arcs etc., but the below are the issues/arcs which emphasise him more in the forefront of things and contribute more coherently to building his background.

I hope that's a useful list for you; It's not perfect, and doesn't include everything relevant to Megatron's backstory, but this is a decent chunk of the stuff that's relevant to him! :)

There's a ton of stuff to read over that is Megatron-relevant, though, so I'd say you might want to scroll through the TFWiki page on IDW 1 Megatron here if you don't mind possibly coming across spoilers, to see which plot points are in which specific issues aside from those listed above! :)

If the sheer amount of IDW 1 stuff out there is overwhelming, I'd say just have fun and start with MTMTE if you need a jumping on point, then backfill with the other IDW 1 material as you go along and can better identify what context you might need. (This is what a lot of people did when MTMTE was first coming out, so no worries!)

oh my goodness...kiki !!

its midterm season so i don't have a chance to write a full review just yet ( ahhh i have so much more to say !!) but ever since you released the teaser and snippet of the fic, i really had no idea what to expect.

the story is so so great, kiki. its such a fresh, real and raw portrayal and approach to this trope. i hope you're happy and proud of what you created !! the fact that its primarily a character driven made the reading experience sooooo satisfying, especially this being an angst piece. (you know how much i love pain lmao) you were able to flesh out each character and their roles respectively. i love the way you chose to execute this piece. its a slice of life, just a snippet into this world, but i was so full of life. hehe 🤍 idk how you do it but you write in a way that makes people invested.

the only happy solution to me would be in a case scenario where jeongguk heals from the trauma he experienced. he's stuck in the past and it's hurting everyone around him. whether or not he's aware of this or wants things to change, he can't because then he'd have to process what happened and that means feeling. until that happens only can oc or seulgi can remain in the picture

i really worried while writing it that it was going to come off fake or… like justifying it in a way? which is not what was trying to do at all!! i was trying to portray people doing not great things through the eyes of someone who is naive and not equipped to deal with the situation.

i also worried that the ambiguity made the story confusing!! there’s been some confusion but i think most understood what happened and not all of the context was undetectable which is v cool!!

and that’s so true!! like i think the only semi-good ending is jungkook getting help. he needs it desperately, but i think in his mind… help is forgetting if that makes sense? in a way, he doesn’t want to move on, because moving on feels like he’s losing whatever piece of seol he has left. i also think he feels like he deserves to suffer. it’s morbid and sad but v true :(

my next piece is v lighthearted and fun!! hopefully shouldn’t take too long. and then afterwards i can finally start writing my magnum opus lol!!

You made me curious, so I actually went and looked at what I'd managed to eat yesterday. Bagel with 2 slices of ham, slice of cheese, little mayo; then later 2 slices of bacon, 2 slices of bread with some jam, and a hard boiled egg

Looking into it got 700 calories from stuff that I could bother to find the packages of, so like... maybe 900-1000 with the mayo and jam and stuff

This isn't an eating disorder thing, this is just how I was fed pretty much my whole life, and I still have a lot of trouble preparing food. Like in some ways what I described is a lot more than what my mom would feed me when I was growing up, some days back then I'd get like a couple slices of leftover pizza for the day

(Funny thing was when I went to the doctor's one time and the nurse congratulated me on losing weight... and it's like given I didn't start exercising, and that I hadn't made any improvements to my diet... I'm not sure that's the sort of thing you should be cheering for without getting context)

I don't know... I'm a pretty isolated person, I have no ability to put my life into any context in many ways, so it's just kind of like... huh... seeing someone talk about not eating enough, it makes me wonder what people would think if they like... got to look back at how much I've eaten over my life

...doesn't really matter, not like knowing or not knowing is gonna get me to be able change anything, but... you know...

So here's the thing.

It's not disordered eating in the strictest sense of the word because I'm not going into it TRYING to lose weight or anything.

What I have is an executive functioning and restrictive food intake disorder that started when I was really young and has basically always been how I was fed because I was really young when I started feeding myself and I am relatively incapable of avoiding a degree of self-neglect.

My wife takes care of dinners for us. It's the agreement we made. But it's my job to feed myself the rest of the time and more often than not I simply....don't.

Sometimes I forget. Sometimes, I lack the focus and directable energy/spoons. Sometimes, I'm simply incapable of eating anything without wanting to throw it back up because the idea of textures disgusts me. And sometimes, I get busy and just don't realize I haven't eaten, which is different than forgetting somehow. Currently, for example, there is coffee and cheese waiting for me to have before work, but I'm writing this instead as my limited time dwindles, and I can't seem to switch tasks.

The effect of this is that for years, I have only rarely broken 1500 calories a day, which is a known starvation allotment for a grown adult. This is of course, while actively experiencing severe chronic health issues including malnourishment and brittle bones. There is genuinely other stuff happening for me. But still.

Please hear me when I say to you that if you are like me, and you find yourself repeatedly struggling to eat more than 1500 calories a day, please get help. It does so much more to devastate your mind and bodily health than you realize. And even if it is incidental or the byproduct of executive dysfunction/other mental health/basic functioning needs like me, don't let it kill you.
