So my twin and I were talking the other night about what Evan’s patronus might be (because what better things do we have to do with our lives) and I was saying how a smallish bird might fit his personality and stuff (partially because of the whole “people never look up” thing in Crimson Rivers but shhh), and she said that she felt like a hummingbird might be good. And then the next day, we were playing Disney Trivial Pursuit, and one of the cards had a question about Pocohontas.

Penny's moodboard

I wanted to do this for quite a while and I finally managed! I've never done a moodboard before. This is from my beloved OC Penelope Griffith from my fanfiction. All pictures are from Pinterest. Explanation and pic references under the cut

1: Moody Hyacinths, a special flower to remember something special ;) From chapter 14 of my fanfiction, Penelope finally realizes and accepts her feelings for Garreth thanks to this magical plant.

2: Hummingbird, is her official Patronus as hinted in chapter 14. Hummingbirds are small birds, fast and thievery exactly like her. They feed on Penstemons (Pen is her nickname) her favorite flowers.

3: Cats, weirdly enough, Penelope attracts the affections from cats. Being her roommate Hemera's or stray cats in the Hufflepuff dorm. She doesn't really care though. (The ginger cat is a foreshadowing element from chapter 13 and yes, it's Garreth coded XD)

4: Chocolate frogs, Penny's favorite treats! She goes as far as stealing them from her roommates. The Halloween edition (with pumpkin spices) and the Christmas one (with fruit cake flavor) are her favorites ever!

5: Hufflepuff, like her father, Penelope is a Hufflepuff. She doesn't really like it, she would have preferred to be a Slytherin like her mother and brother, or her best friend. Hufflepuff are loyal and hardworking.

6: Quidditch, Penelope's family is very fond of Quidditch, with her mother and brother being both professional Quidditch players. She has always loved flying on a broom. Until the accident happened...

7: Greenhouse, Penny's favorite place at Hogwarts is the greenhouse, despite Garlick punishment to work there, she's enjoying her time growing plants. Her father is also a florist, so she used to help him in the family's greenhouses since she was 6.

8: Star gazing, Penelope loves stars, she's only a third year student, but she's looking forward to start her Astronomy lessons. Her friend Amit has plans to introduce her to this enchanting topic.

9: Herbal tea and weird ingredients, Penny loves a good cup of tea and her father always sends some, of course, sometime Garreth tampers with it XD

Barty was always worried about what his patronus would be, or if he'd ever be even able to cast it. He was sure it would be similar to his dad's large black bear, his grandfather's magnificent stallion, or even his mother's large dog. Barty didn't want anything vicious that his family could praise him for, or have yet another connection to his family that he never wanted but was never able to choose (like his name).

Evan understood this, really. He wasn't in the same situation with his own patronus, since his family had a history of rather unremarkable ones, like rabbits or fauns, or his very own hummingbird patronus.

But when Barty finally casted his full patronus, it broke after a few minutes due to his large grin and lack of concentration. It wasn't a stallion, bear, or large dog, it was a simple squirrel.

Evan found it quite fitting, even a little adorable when he thought about the comparisons between the two. His father had been displeased, which had been Barty's goal all along, so he was pleased with himself.

Barty was quick movements and jump scares, built on impulses and had a knack for hoarding food or stuffing it in his cheeks, much like a squirrel. It fit so perfectly all Evan could do was smile.

Barty had looked at him, with that glimmer of mischief always shining in his eyes, and Evan laughed. He made squirrel puns for days and days after until Barty snogged him into shutting up.

✧ the moment that astoria received her letter at eighteen, she could not stop talking about it to anyone who would listen. truthfully, she was ready to get out of the greenhouse manor and meet new people who were a little different than her, even if they weren't purebloods - her parents and the kept around nannies warned astoria about the lesser beings in hogwarts, but astoria only pretended to listen and nod encouragingly.

✧ when astoria was sorted into hufflepuff, she was mildly disappointed. she was delusional enough to think that she had the qualities of slytherin, and that the hat would see her potential in the house of the snake - unfortunately, she was a badger and was forced to sit with her hufflepuff housemates while her cheeks burned red with embarrassment... a perfect pureblood didn't get sorted into the weak hufflepuff.

✧ astoria's disappointed tune changed the moment that she had started herbology, where she realized that she had a natural green thumb. plants was something that astoria was instantly good at; she enjoyed how plants seemed complicated on the outside, but once used to them, they were straightforward.

✧ duelling was never a strong magical skill for astoria, as she scored a low grade in DADA in her first year. her parents, disappointed that their daughter seemed to care less about her duelling abilities, forced her to sign up for the duelling club in the start of her second year. during astoria's first session in the duelling club, her arse was handed to her and when the session ended, she was outside in tears. a man in her daphne's year, draco malfoy, awkwardly consoles her and promises to help her train in duelling.

When Dante Briarwood was sorted into Slytherin house, he was determined to not be like his father, a Death Eater who was killed during the Wizarding War. Conflicted by his feelings towards himself and his background, Dante expressed his emotions through songwriting at school, and after graduation moved to Brazil to complete further study in the field of Herbology at Castelobruxo. After taking some time out to travel, Dante realised that he found more happiness in being himself for his own sake rather than trying to prove to himself and others that he is not like his father. After all, when would she need to learn to fight Dementors?

She’d tried the spell before, trying to check that box off, of course. The Ravenclaw prided herself on knowing spells, but this one was just a little too far out of her grasp it seemed. Still, she didn’t fret, and just put it down as something she would work on in the future. There were plenty of other things to focus on, mainly her radio show and all the new music coming out.

Joining the Order, it hadn’t come up again, and so for the past year, helping out with her radio show and going on missions and such as needed, Glenda hadn’t thought there was a need for it. Of course, that all changed on the last mission, at hearing that a group had been attacked by Dementors and had absolutely needed that spell in order to be safe. 

And so, Glenda realized that maybe she did need that spell, and had set out to try and learn it. This time, she had a little more knowledge on it, had done a bit more thinking, and the memory she’d used was one that meant the most to her in the world. Closing her eyes and trying again, Glenda had been surprised by the small hummingbird that had shot out of her wand and gone zooming around her like it was already on a mission of protection.

A hummingbird didn’t surprise her at all, truly. A free-spirit, seeking to enjoy life to it’s fullest, and fierce protectors that stand up for what they believe in and their loved ones, it made sense to Glenda why the hummingbird was her Patronus. And now it’s not just another tick in a box to know that she can produce one; now she can do as she needs and help protect those she cares for in the Order.

Ok so the universe is throwing signs at me…probably because I asked for it but still…omg

I asked for a sign that I was going to fully shift soon because I’ve only minishifted. I didn’t specify which dr but I mainly try to go to my HP one. I walked outside my house today and the cutest smol little hummingbird flew past my shoulder and onto a flower…I could’ve reached out and touched it…I have NEVER seen a hummingbird in person before…

Hi there!

It doesn't matter that we don't know eachother, that's how people make friends! Also, yes, I've had some food and water (I ate all my lunch today, are you proud of me?). I'm not allowed to have baths at my house though, because my mum doesn't want me to use the hot water. I haven't been reading any actualy books recently, just fanfiction tbh. Nature is indeed very beautiful (yesterday I was walking to school and I saw a chicken. On the side of the road. Just clucking along. I live in the middle of a city).

Although we don't know much from canon, I feel like I just know my versions of the characters so well that there aren't really any gaps. I do think it would be good to learn more about Lily, and her interactions with petunia and snape, as well as the marauders.

favourite: ngl I really love andrew garfield's spiderman, but that's just because I'm a remus simp. I'm really loving Yelena (Black Widow's sister) as well. least favourite: superman. hands down. get it away from me.

I wish we could just stop fighting eachother and start figuring out how to fight the bigger threats to our species, like climate change.

I'm not really sure. Possibly my dog dying? I'm also terrified of like floating in space or the middle of the ocean, but idk how that could be a boggart.

My patronus... hmm. I would like to say my dog? Patronuses are suppost to be your protectors, and although he can't physically protect me because he's tiny, he has protected my mental health through the worst of times, and has literally saved my life. But if we're choosing what reflects us as a person the most, I think maybe a cat of some kind, although pottermore says a hummingbird. As for the happy memory, I'm not really sure. Maybe finding out I got a 7 (out of 7) for my last history exam? It's really difficult critera and almost no-one gets a 7, so I was super happy.

Chelia Blendy: Hogwarts AU

Chelia Blendy is a Pureblood witch that was born on the 17th of October 1990 and started attending Hogwarts on the 1st of September 2002, being sorted into Hufflepuff house.

Due to her older cousin Sherry having been orphaned before Chelia was even born, she grew up with her cousin as her older sister and have always considered her as such.

Due to her shyness, she didn't have many friends during her Hogwarts years and mostly spent her time studying with her being the top student of her year.

She eventually meet her fellow Hufflepuff Wendy Marvell and the Gryffindor Romeo Conbolt, and ended up befriending the two with them becoming best friends for life.

During her seventh year, she was expelled after taking the blame for something that Wendy had done and got her wand snapped because of it but while Wendy felt really guilty over it Chelia never once blamed her and assured her that they were still friends.

While she did have a crush on Wendy, she didn't mind that she and Romeo married and was even the maid of honor during the wedding and eventually the godmother to their son.

She eventually managed to get into muggle Med-School with the help of a few Muggleborn friends of Wendy's older brother and ended up becoming a doctor at a muggle hospital.

She eventually ended up getting married to a muggle woman who she ended up having two daughters with.

She had an English Oak wand with a Unicorn Hair Core.

Her Patronus was a Hummingbird.

Her favorite subjects are Charms and Potions.

Her least favorite subjects are History of Magic and Herbology.
