The aftermath of a nighthunt assignment brings gruesome corpses of deer, skinned rodents, and something horrendously wrong with Wei Wuxian. It starts small, and quietly grows. Lan Wangji deals with knowledge of it.

My mom sent me a watercolor she just did and I’m going a little crazy over it, tbh.

#it’s such a simple subject #flowers in a field at sunset #and it’s the sunflower + tulips + lupin combination that you see whenever you ask somebody to draw different flowers #but she has this red abstract squiggly border that looks just like the illuminations in manuscripts #and the sunset wash bleeds all together #and there’s this gradient in the muddy yellow of the sunflower #and you look at it. and you can tell. whoever made this had fun. #they enjoyed putting the colors down #the green layers of grass #the delicate squiggles of red #the tiny little flowers and the giant swath of sky #I’ve ranted and raved about how technical excellence /needs/ to be pursued #but - perhaps because I believe in excellence and not despite of it - #Every step along the way #every ‘beginner’s mistake’ #every naive piece every foray into something new every attempt to make something beautiful #just inspires so much love and joy in me. #It’s beautiful. because it’s an attempt to express the inexpressible.

thinking a lot about the collapse of iterators. particularly in the context of lttm. like. the internal ecosystem of an iterator does not appear to be based on a normal food chain like the outside world, so you can kind of infer that at least on a basic level their water consumption is the way they feed their components. something about the idea of countless parts of her literally dying. sure- the pumps are failing, but she literally atrophying. starving, as more and more parts of her necrose and die. the pain is unimaginable. her overseer feeds slowly dissapear. her memory becomes more and more fragmented and hard to access as all of her countless neuron flies starve for water. threads breaking, metal creaking. the cracks in the skeleton seem to pale in comparison to the dead lights, blackened purposed organisms, the overwhelming smell of decay. something climbing up the sides to get to the food she can no longer see due to her overseers failing.

i wonder if the sever of her umbilical was, in some way, a relief. cutting off the pain, cutting off the knowledge of her death.

and. idk. i think a lot about how shes interupted by the constant panels of 'danger' when speaking to spearmaster. pebbles really is killing her. and she has to stare those warnings in the face as she drops to the floor of her chamber in agony and still choose to, overall, forgive him and try to help him rather than force a stop.

its too late. like a limb that needs to be amputated, but its the head being cut from the entire body.

she only retains five neurons.

#the water the water the water! who would i be if i didnt dedicate a post to it #we spent the trip in a hotel across from the sea and the moment i stepped off the airport bus and saw it--this endless sweep of steely blue #mountains rising behind and the edge of it bleeding into the sky #i knew it was going to be the most perfect trip. and it was! #best water was the black sand beaches--both of them--i almost short-circuited. would love to say something poetic about them but that reall #is the highest compliment i could give. we had a brief break one time coming back from the southern shore tour; it was vvv dark could barel #see anything and we were starving but we had juuust enough time that michaela and i went down again to the beach outside of the pitstop #village. we were utterly alone; could barely see the sea; but i knew it was there and could hear the rush of it and it was so so cold and m #wife's hand was very warm and it was perhaps the best moment of all. #iceland trip #mine.txt

Chapitre 180 - A Place Where a Princess Is

The past tense tone implying that this has now been proven incorrect. Considering that, you know, he was the one who ended up stabbing her. :’) 

The splash text from Chapter 14, by contrast, read: I wonder what did you wish that night? So much sadness that flows lovely through the stars. 

BUT NOW THE WISH HARDLY MATTERS DOES IT? SINCE THE FACT THAT THEY WERE TOGETHER DIRECTLY LEAD TO HER DEATH. 

Interestingly these covers are both 100% different nights, confirming that Syaoran and Sakura did this on a regular basis. While they both wore long sleeves in the first cover, now they both wear shorter ones, with different patterns, and the blanket is different too - but the lamp is exactly the same. While they were both excited to see the sky before, sharing the activity together now only Syaoran is looking up, with Sakura asleep beneath him, leaving him alone like he is in the present. 

They’ve visually switched places now too, since before Sakura was the one actively making a wish, but now she’s asleep - matching the fact that she isn’t exactly making wishes anymore in the present. She DID Succeed in her big overarching wish and has SAVED Syaoran’s soul, but now she’s dead. But with Syaoran back he can safely reclaim the memory of this moment, since it happened to him, and he’s still alive to remember the moments like this that even Sakura herself would never be able to recall. 

I’m SO glad they brought this back literal moments after Sakura’s onscreen death c: how lovely.

Sam's so used to being considered an outsider in Woodsboro that she doesn't realise that they've accepted her as one of their own. Her self-loathing is THAT strong. Meanwhile, everyone is so nice to Tara because like the kids are off limits and ok so the girl is nearly 20 but she's still basically just a kid, c'mon. (They're kind of relieved when Sam takes Tara away to New York because they did not ever want a repeat of that.) Sam just assumes everyone is being nicer to her for Tara's sake, because they sure do seem to dote on her little sister. It's a bit weird actually, but Sam shrugs it off as an effect of it being a Ghostface attack.

The way that the sun hits leaves and clouds. I feel like I could watch the colors change forever. If I could slow down for that long.
