Woke up to unpleasantly strong winds this morning so instead of going out for our usual Saturday morning jaunt, I decided to take Rory to do some "use of wind" training (description below the cut).
This was her first targeted use of wind training session and her second session on birds but it was so cool to see it click! I hid birds for her to find four times, varying the number of birds each time and letting her rest in the car between reps. Each time she searched with more strategy and confidence, it was extremely cool to watch!
I took her for a long line walk at a different park afterwards to cool down and she was still intentionally using the wind to explore, it was so cool how quickly it clicked for her. She's gonna be a force to be reckoned with!
You don't need much to set up Use Of Wind training, but make sure it's pretty consistently windy (not just gusty). Pick your target scent - this can be anything: meatballs, tennis ball, a person, dead birds, but make sure your dog knows to search for it - and find an open space that isn't bare ground. We went to a rather unpopulated park that is covered in dry grasses, like this:
Tumblr media
With your dog out of sight (e.g., in the car), hide your item(s) so they aren't visible but so the wind still blows over them, then wait a few minutes so the scent has time to disperse.
Walk your dog in the general area, switching directions often so sometimes you're walking into the wind, sometimes walking with the wind, and wait for the dog to pick up the scent. Encourage following the scent trail to the item and reward heavily!! This is most easily done off leash or on a long line, the longer the better.
Put the dog away and hide more items, wait a few minutes, then search again. After a few reps you should be able to let your dog search independently and you should notice your dog start using the wind strategically to find their target.
Now your dog can use the wind!

“Dad?”
--
June, 2008.
You were a master avoider.
Hell, you avoided your feelings for Jim by disappearing for months on a binge drinking, sex-fuelled road trip along the East Coast. And even when it came to smaller things, like Michael and Jan’s dinner party that you put off for so long, or Andy and his boat talk, you knew how to avoid things. Defer conversations, make up excuses, distract your boyfriend with sexual favours…
It had been two weeks since you stayed late at the office, since you locked up and headed to your car, destined for a movie night with your Jim. Two weeks since your father came back into your life after over two decades of absence.
And you still hadn’t told Jim.
It wasn’t that you didn’t want to, but he had been so happy recently, securing sales and really upping his game at work that you didn’t want to ruin his success with more of your family drama. It wasn’t fair to him, it wasn’t fair to you, and it wasn’t fair to Toby, who was heading off to Costa Rica to spend the rest of his days in the sunshine and amongst the palm trees.
That morning, Michael had called you in with Phyllis and Angela to take notes on behalf of the Party Planning Committee: a group Angela never let you join because you said you liked rainbow coloured streamers.
“First thing on the agenda, actually, the only thing on the agenda, is the status of Toby's going away party.” Michael sat at the head of the table, grinning like a child on Christmas. You knew he had been waiting for this day to come, of course he had, but his enthusiasm was edging on hysterical.
“We have a buttercream cake and a slide show of Toby.” Angela answered, sat to your right. Michael nodded, and Phyllis pulled two photos from an envelope, setting them on the table in front of Michael.
“Okay...”
“But so far we only have two pictures of him.” Angela finished, and Michael guffawed, you choosing to indulge his lunacy and shake your head in agreement.
“Michael, I really don’t think this will do.” You said, gesturing with your pencil as Angela gave you a side eye. Despite not often finding yourself being petty, it served Angela right for her behaviour at the Dinner Party.
“You’re right, Y/N. Toby is going away forever, and we need to do something very, very special. In some cultures when somebody leaves, like New Orleans culture, they have a parade, and a band, and people party in the streets.” Michael explained his vision, and you looked up, holding back a laugh.
“Michael, are you talking about a New Orleans funeral?” You asked, and Michael shrugged a little, prompting you to put on a straight face and nod, writing down his ludicrous idea.
“If the Devil were to explode, and evil were gone forever, what sort of party would you have?” He asked Angela, who shook her head, trying to manage her irritation. “Like, a beach blowout? Or a Toga? Toga, Toga! Tog-“
“You always do this.” Angela snapped. “We have a nice, modest party planned, and then you come in and demand the world. Let me be clear, there is simply no money for anything more than a cake, and to develop a few more slides… Although Toby won’t be in them.”
“I thought that you might say that.” Michael grinned, sitting back, and lifting one leg to cross over the other before, suddenly, removing his shoe and placing it on the table before you all. Removing the inner sole, a wad of cash appeared in your boss’ hand, and he began to count it out. “I want a party that makes me feel like I am flying through the air without this ugly weight holding me down. You know?” He directed the question towards you, and you nodded along, watching his eyes widen. “I want an antigravity machine.” Michael decided. “I saw it in a movie. You drink a potion, and then you just start floating around.”
“So how much antigravity potion do you want then?” You asked, playing along, and beginning to jot down Michael’s request when Angela intervened, yelling in protest.
“No! No, you know what? This is not a party planning committee anymore.” Angela said with a glare your way before turning her attention back to Michael. “And I don’t want your foot money, and I feel uncomfortable participating.” Angela’s arms folded, and without missing a beat, Michael turned to look at silent fourth party in the room.
“Phyllis.” He addressed her, Phyllis looking at him in surprise. “Can you do this?” He asked, a smile spreading across her face.
“Yes.”
--
Among other things, today was the training day of the new HR representative, and as you answered phones that morning, glancing down at your mobile every few minutes to respond to texts from a certain absentee father figure, she walked through the door, box of personal effects in hand.
“You must be Holly Flax, right?” You asked as she stopped by your desk, sending over a wary smile.
“That’s me.” She replied.
“I’m Y/N. If you just head through the back,” You paused for a second, your phone beginning to ring. “Dunder Mifflin, this is Y/N. How can I help you today?” You asked, covering the microphone, and turning your attention back to Holly. “Toby is waiting for you.” You stage whispered, and Holly smiled a little wider, nodding to you in thanks.
You took a few more minutes on calls before opting for a coffee break, your phone buzzing once again on your desk. You groaned at the noise, turning the device on silent and slamming it into one of your desk drawers, causing a few eyes to look over at you, primarily Jim’s.
Jim had noticed how on edge you were the past few weeks. You were missing date nights, taking calls in other rooms, constantly checking your phone; and while Jim wasn’t the jealous type, he couldn’t help but wonder what had gotten you so wound up to cause you so much stress.
When you went to the kitchen to sort yourself some coffee, Jim followed, closing the door behind him, and taking a spot beside you, preparing his own refill.
“Hey you.” You smiled up at him, “I should have asked if you wanted a top up, I’m sorry.” You apologised, but Jim shook his head in response.
“It’s fine, Y/N… I just…” He paused, catching your attention as he let out a sigh. It was his worried sigh; you could tell them all apart now. “Did I go too far with the proposal stuff?” He asked, and you felt your heart break a little. Your stress had radiated onto the man thinking about proposing to you, and he took it all the wrong way. “If I did, I can stop. I just see that you’re all stressed out about something and I can’t tell if it’s me or a friend or an ex or work and I-“ You chose to cut him off by pressing your lips to his, sharing a sweet, chaste kiss with your boyfriend before turning back to your coffee. A blush covered both Jim’s and your cheeks.
“I’m a truly, truly offended that you think I would ever say no to a proposal from you, Halpert.” You said with a giggle, turning to face him as you added sugar to your cup. “I’m sorry, it’s a… A work thing, sort of… Why don’t we talk about it later tonight? After the party?” You suggested, placing a gentle hand on Jim’s forearm, rubbing a circle with your thumb on his exposed skin.
“As long as you’re good.” Jim double-checked, a with a nod of assurance from you, Jim grinned. “Y/N, will you go to Phyllis’ party with me?” Jim asked jokingly, causing you to let out a laugh.
“It would be my pleasure.” You replied, “I need to go grab a snack from the vending machine, you want anything?” You asked, taking your coffee, and heading for the annex. Jim shook his head, sending you a wink before heading into the main office, a smile on his face.
--
“I, uh, I really hope nothing is wrong with Y/N… I know she would tell if it was, and we talked, so it’ll be fine but uh…” Jim smiled to himself, reaching in his pocket to pull out a small black box, opening it up and showing the camera. “I’m going to propose tonight… Holy crap!”
An engagement ring.
“I’ve already paid Phyllis 60 bucks to spend on fireworks tonight, make asking the big question a bit more special…” Jim explained, biting his lip in thought. “I really hope she says yes.”
--
“Y/N, have you met are glamourous new HR rep, Holly?” Michael approached you, Holly by his side, just after lunch. You looked up from your phone, tucking it away and holding out a hand.
“Briefly. It’s nice to talk without a phone call getting in the way.” You nodded, Holly shaking your hand with a big smile and light laugh.
“Y/N is one half of our office romance whole, with Jim over there.” Michael explained, looking rather proud of himself. “I made that happen.”
“I saw, you two sharing a moment in the kitchen.” Holly sent you a playful wink. “I’ll let it slide this once, but just make it an occasional thing, alright? Don’t need you two lovebirds ‘macking oot’,” the last two words were said in a terrible Scottish accent, causing Michael to burst into a fit of laughter. “and spreading the lovebug.” You nodded, holding a hand over your heart and a hand up straight.
“Scout’s honour.” You promised, glancing behind Michael and Holly to Jim, who sat at his desk, laughing and chatting away on a phone call. Just looking at his face made all your other worries disappear.
“-Yeah, so I just got the fax closing the sale, and, uh, it’s big. It’s really big.” Jim said over the phone, a smile on his face as he looked back at Y/N, who sent a wink his way.
“Congratulations.” Ryan spoke up on the other end of the line.
“Thanks-“
“Don’t interrupt.” Ryan scolded, and Y/N watched Jim’s smile drop. “Congratulations on doing your job. Did you enter the sale on the website?” Ryan asked.
“No, I didn’t. I just logged in.”
“All right, try to be a team player here, Jim.” Ryan spoke with a higher-than-thou tone of voice that brought Jim’s mood right down. “Log it in the website.”
“All right, well, it already went through.” Jim tried to protest.
“Don’t worry about that, just re-log it.” Ryan instructed before the line went dead.
--
Michael opted to give the office an early finish to celebrate Toby’s leaving in style, the whole office following Phyllis out to the parking lot as the clock hit three, shocked by what the woman had managed to conjure up in a few hours: A Ferris Wheel, bounce house, and plenty of seating and carnival food to house the entire office and company, not to mention Darryl and his band playing some smooth jams on a small stage. What’s more, the day had only gotten better for you and Jim with the arrest of a certain patchy-bearded temp, and after leaving some passive aggressive voicemails for the kid to pick up after he, you know, got out of prison, you felt like you could finally let your hair down.
You and Jim spent the afternoon together, taking a ride on the Ferris Wheel, chatting with Darryl, drinking beer. By the time Dwight put a racoon into Holly’s car, you were buzzed enough to not give a shit, which was when Jim switched you on to soda.
“You need me sober for something, Jim?” You teased as your boyfriend wrapped his arms around you from behind, handing you a coke.
“Wouldn’t you like to know?” He replied, pressing a kiss to your forehead as Darryl and the band began playing again.
“Phyllis should organise parties all the time… She got fireworks and everything.” You commented, a few of the warehouse staff setting up the light show, no doubt set for after the sun had fully set. Right then, the sky was painted in colour: warm oranges and yellows fading into pink and blue.
“You know I love you, right?” Jim asked, and you turned around to face him, taking his face in your hands and pressing his lips to yours. His hands rested on your waist, pulling you closer to him, pulling away for a breath only to kiss you again.
“I love you,” Before you could finish the phrase, you caught a glimpse of a man behind Jim, stood at the corner of the office building. “Too… Excuse me.” You said, breaking from your hold and running over to your dad, who stood with a smirk on his face and his hands in his suit pockets. “What are you doing here?”
Jim’s eyes followed you as you rushed towards the stranger at the far end of the park, his eyes roaming to find Michael: the man also happened to notice Y/N’s take off, and without a word spoken the two began in the same direction quickly.
“What’s going on?” Jim asked as he rounded the corner with Michael, looking between you and your dad, who was to both your boss and your boyfriend, a complete stranger.
“Holly looked at me, and her hand was on my arm and-“
“Not you, Michael. Y/N.” Jim stopped Michael’s lovestruck ramblings, gesturing to your estranged father, who stood by your side. “Who is this?”
“Who is this?” Your dad asked, looking Jim over.
“My boyfriend, the one I told you about.” You said quickly, and your dad narrowed his eyes at Jim.
“I don’t like him.”
“Yeah, well, you don’t get a say in that department.” You snapped, your eyes looking everywhere but at Jim. You didn’t want to see his confusion, or his hurt.
“Y/N, is this man blackmailing you for sexual favours?” Michael asked, causing both your father and you to look over in shock. Before you could ponder how he come to such a conclusion, Michael continued. “I can call the police if necessary. I don’t appreciate you breaking up the relationship I helped to build, Mister Predator Man.” Michael scolded, your father letting out a laugh. “What’s so funny? You know what? No. I’m calling the cops.” Michael decided, and you sighed, putting your hand over Michael’s keypad.
“Jesus, Michael, he’s my dad.”
Silence surrounded the four of you, and you finally found yourself looking up at Jim, who fiddled with something in his pocket, looking more confused than anything.
“I’m sorry, your who now?” Michael asked after a second. “You mean the man who abandoned you and your mother? Who left you fending on your own for, oh, almost a decade now?” Michael’s anger contrasted to Jim’s silence, and it made you uneasy. “Or did you not know your ex-wife was dead?”
“Michael-“
“No, I’m curious why he’s decided to come back now, after leaving you with nothing, Y/N.” Michael raised his voice a little, and Jim started to pace, your eyes never leaving him.
“I’ve offered her a job.” Your dad finally revealed, and you let out a sigh.
“A job?” Jim spoke up, finally, looking over at you both. “Is that what the calls and texts have been?” He asked again, and you nodded. What followed made you shiver, a cold laugh emerged from Jim you had never heard before, then he turned to walk to his car.
Jim wanted a chance to think, to breathe, to figure out what stopped you from being honest with him about it all, but heels tapped on the ground behind him, a hand catching his arm, you stood there close to tears behind him.
“I’m sorry.” You whispered, and Jim just shook his head.
“Why didn’t you tell me, Y/N? We could have done this together; we should have done this together.” Jim asked, and you looked down at your feet, guilty. Jim removed his arm from your grip, opening his car door, pausing to look over at the party still ongoing, the fireworks being readied to set off. “You know, I was going to propose tonight?”
“What?” You looked up, your lip trembling.
“Yeah… I thought it would be great timing, even got Phyllis to get fireworks…” He sighed, getting into his car, and closing the door. He turned on the engine, rolling down the window. “I’ll call you when… If I’m ready to talk. I love you, but I need time to think some stuff through, ok?” He said reassuringly, squeezing your hand. Tears spilled onto your cheeks as you nodded, letting go of his hand to let him drive away.
And there, as the first fireworks exploded overhead and danced on a darkening sky, you eyes were trained on Jim’s car brake lights, the car disappearing around a corner with the man you loved driving, leaving your heart cracked.

Meeting Taylor In Minneapolis❤️
Tumblr media
Let's flashback to 12 years ago when I first heard "Tim McGraw" on the radio, I wasn't sure who was singing the song but I knew from that moment that whoever was singing it was talented. I asked who was singing that song to the people in the car and they said "That's Taylor Swift". I had no clue who Taylor Swift was but I immediately went online to see who this girl was and I saw that she had an album out and I had to go pick up the CD at the store so I could listen to the whole thing. After I listened to her first whole album I couldn't wait until her next album was released.
Now let's jump forward to 2018. My friend and I had bought tickets for us and my sister to the reputation Stadium tour in Minneapolis in December of 2017 and had to keep the concert a secret from my sister, Alison, because we were going to surprise her the day of the concert with the tickets. A long 9 months went by waiting for the concert to come around and the week of the concert finally approached us and we were so excited. That whole week leading up to the concert was filled with so many good luck signs and we had such a weird gut feeling about going to the show. We had all of our outfits planned out and ready to go and we had to make sure we had stuff for my sister to wear because she had no idea she was even going. We chose to wear camouflage and an old Taylor concert shirt.
The day of the show show finally rolled around and I got to surprise my sister with the tickets that Saturday morning and she was so excited to go, the first thing she said was "when is it?" Lucky for her it was that night and she didn't have to wait 9 months to go to it!
One thing that I still remember to this day is what my mom said to me before we left our house was, "If you meet Taylor you need to be nice to your sister and let her enjoy that moment too." And I immediately said back, "Mom, I doubt it will happen, there's a 1% chance that we will even see Mama Swift and meet Taylor."
So, we packed up into my parents car and headed to my friend Abby's house to get ready for the concert with a few other friends we met on Twitter who were going to the show with us. Multiple tubes of glitter later and all our "13's" written on our hands, we were finally ready to head to U.S. Bank Stadium and get in line to get into the concert.
Tumblr media
We got to the stadium about twenty minutes before the gates opened so we waited in line for that time and took some pictures and talked about what we were excited to see that night. Time flew by and they opened up the gates and it was time for the moment we have been waiting for for 9 long months. This was the first time I had been to the new stadium and it was so gorgeous and it's so hard to explain its beauty in words.
Before we went to our seats we had to go pick up our floor wristbands from a certain section on the concourse so we were able to get to our seats and after we all picked up our floor seats we went in and there it was. The stage. It was so big. I had only ever seen pictures online of what the stage looked like but seeing it in person was breath taking.
We got to our seats finally and our seats were in the perfect spot. We had no seats behind us, we had end seats and we had a big open space to dance our little hearts out. I couldn't believe that this was all happening in the moment.
Tumblr media
Our friend Kaitlyn, who had bought a ticket last minute and came from Chicago to go to the show with us didn't have a ticket by us but had a floor seat. She didn't want to go back to her seat yet and be alone so she stayed with us during the opening acts. Taylor's opening acts are phenomenal. Charli XCX put on one hell of a show and got the crowd pumped up for Camila Cabello. Camila is just a little darling, she's so cute and little that everything she does I want to cry.
After Camila, Taylor was next. Kaitlyn was ready to go back to her seat but before she left she said to us, "Not to say anything is going to happen or get your hopes up or anything but there were people from Taylor Nation watching you guys during both of the opening acts." My heart just stopped and I couldn't believe what she told us. Abby, Alison and I told ourselves to not think about that during Taylor's set because we didn't want to get our hopes up.
I DON'T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT MY BAD REPUTATION... it was finally time. Joan Jett blasted over the stadiums speakers and we all knew. Taylor was coming on stage after this song was done. We were dripping sweat, our glitter was everywhere and our hair was a mess but we didn't care. We were so ready for Taylor to come on stage.
The lights dimmed, the light up bracelets sparkled, screams echoing in the stadium and "Baby let the game begin," was heard over the speakers. Alison, Abby and I had already lost our voices but we were screaming so much when we heard those five words and finally she finally arose from under the stage in a black sparkle onesie and over-the-knee boots that just looked so stunning in the stage lights. ...Ready For It? got the crowd going crazy and we were in tears because we couldn't believe Taylor was right in front of us.
Four songs in her set went by and by this time Abby, Alison and I were so tired and sweating so much but we kept going because we were having so much fun and didn't want to miss any memories to be made. End Game was the next song in Taylor's set and one of my top three favorites on the album. This was the song I was most excited to see live because it's my favorite and I heard that she performed End Game so cool at the show. It was about halfway through the song and I was taking a Snapchat video of my singing "Big reputation, big reputation," and I didn't hear Abby say this to me but she yelled "Mama Swift showed up!" Since I didn't hear that (I later then heard it in my video weeks later when I was watching it) I could hear my sister talking to someone and I thought to myself how does my sister know someone here well enough to be talking to them and I turned around and it was Andrea Swift, Taylor's mom.
After I turned and saw Andrea, I tapped Abby on the shoulder and she turned around and we all screamed "Hi!!" She said to us "Have I seen you guys before? You guys look really familiar." We were like "No no no no!" and then she proceeded to say "Are you girls sure I've never seen you before?" and at this point we were crying because we knew that the next few questions that were coming were the ones we've were waiting for all night. "And you would never tell a lie to me, right?" and we all yelled in tears "NO!!!" and she then said "How does meeting Taylor in rep room after the show tonight sound?" and we yelled in her face "YES" and she gave us a big group hug and left and one of the members from Taylor Nation stayed to give us the rep room slip and our meet and greet wristbands. I've always seen videos and posts online about this happening to other people but never in a million years would I think this would happen to US.
Tumblr media
After we got our paper and wristbands we all called our family to tell them we were meeting Taylor after the show and the service in the stadium was spotty so we couldn't hear much of what they were saying to us over the phone but I all I remember saying was "I can't hear anything you guys are saying but we're meeting Taylor after the show okay bye!"
King Of My Heart was the song after End Game and that song I honestly don't remember at all, I was to in shock with what just happened and I couldn't physically focus on what was going on stage and before I knew it she was standing on our side of the stage doing her speech before she sang Delicate. She was so close to us and Abby and I just looked at each other and said "We're meeting her tonight, we get to hug her tonight." Taylor got on her little glitter ball that flew her across the stadium over to her first b-stage where she sang Tied Together With A Smile. We couldn't see any of the b-stages but we sang and danced our little hearts out that whole time.
When Taylor made her way back to the main stage it was the end of the show and all I can remember from that was the water fountain coming on stage and Taylor singing This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things, taking her final bow of the night and going under the stage. It was chaos after the show, people grabbing confetti, taking pictures and trying to find their way out of the stadium, but us on the other hand had to quickly make our way across the stadium to another section to meet Taylor Nation and the other people who were given rep room passes that night. We made our way to the section and saw everyone else in the section and we finally realized that this was actually happening and we were going to meet Taylor.
We filled out a few things on an iPad and once everyone was done filling things out, a Taylor Nation team member went over the rules for us before hand that way we had more time in the room to take pictures and socialize with everyone. They then brought us all backstage and we had to leave all our stuff on a table outside of rep room before we could go in and the moment we've all been waiting for all night was right there in front of us.
We walked into the room and it was so beautiful. There was so many things in there that I couldn't believe were in there. The throne from the Look What You Made Me Do video was there, the infamous Delicate dress, the rainbow dress from the End Game music video, the red throne dress and the black body suit with rep in silver sparkles from the LWYMMD video were in there as well. The walls were made of just fabric hanging down in gold and black, one wall was actually the wall from the outside scene from the Delicate video. We were given Instax polaroid cameras and film to be able to take pictures since we could't have our phones with us. I got to take many photos and having them as polaroids makes them so much more special, living the moment over again is so easy with those.
Tumblr media
After about 45 minutes hanging out, eating food and socializing with other people in the room, Taylor Nation told us it was time to line up to get ready to meet Taylor because she was back in a curtained off room waiting for us to meet her. We all got lined up and were waiting for the moment to finally happen and as we were all standing there Taylor peeked her head out of the curtain, doing her head swoop and said "hey guys!"and I couldn't believe she was standing right there in front of us and I yelled quietly "you're fake!" and my friend Kejana, who also got rep room, heard me but didn't tell me until later. Taylor then proceeded to say "I can't wait to meet you all and my mom is here and she's going to come hang out with you guys before you come back here and meet me! See you guys back here." In this moment I couldn't believe this this was actually happening in minutes.
Andrea came out of the curtain after Taylor peeked her head out and started talking to the group ahead of us before they went in to meet Taylor. A few minutes went by and we were next, Andrea came and talked to us and the feeling of talking to Taylor's mom was so unreal. She was so genuine and cared about us as people, she asked us where we went to school, what our names were and how old we were. The time with Andrea went by so fast and we were up next to meet Taylor, the moment I had dreamed about for 13 years was finally happening.
Tumblr media
The curtains opened and Taylor looked at us and said "hey guys!" and we said "Taylor, you look so good!" and her response to us was "No, you guys look so good! All your glitter is so cute." We then all hugged her and afterwards Abby had her moment with Taylor to tell her the things she wanted to tell her. During Abby's time with Taylor I noticed a piece of hair stuck on Taylor's sweatshirt, the OCD in me kicked in and I grabbed it off of her shirt and she looks at me and says "Oh my gosh, thank you so much." and I looked at her and said "I gotchu girl, no worries." After Abby's moment, it was my turn to talk to Taylor so, I said "Taylor can I tell you two things?!" and she said "Yes! Of course" and I said "For one, we just told my sister about the concert this morning and we've had the tickets since December. We kept it a secret for so long" and she goes "What! No way that is insane" and proceeded to look at my sister and said "that's so awesome!" My sister told Taylor "I've been going to your concerts since I was 5," and Taylor's response was to give my sister a high five and to tell her "You go girl that is so cool."
The second thing that I wanted to ask Taylor was something about her cats, Meredith and Olivia. I asked her "how are your cats doing?!" and she told me that they are doing so good and are as fluffy as ever! I then asked her if they were there in the stadium with her that night and she said "Yes. Of course, they are always with me and are usually just chilling in the dressing room." The inner child inside of me just exploded of happiness because I have loved those cats my whole life and always wanted the chance to ask Taylor about them or meet them in general.
After that I told her that I attended the Rascal Flatts concert in 2008 when she opened for them and was the first time Taylor performed in Minnesota as an artist and her eyes lit up and was so happy. She said to me "That was so long ago, you've been here a long time. I'm so sorry it took so long to meet you, I love you." and in that moment, her eyes never losing contact with mine, I knew she loved me and I knew she felt the connection with me. We then continued to talk about my shirt that I was wearing, because it was a concert shirt from the Fearless Tour which took place in 2009-2010 and I turned around and said "Taylor do these stops and date ring a bell?" and I couldn't see the look on her face but Abby told me when I turned around her eyes lit up and she was so happy to see that shirt and be reminded of that tour. During the time when I turned around I showed her my shorts I made for the show, with rhinestones and glitter and how it all came off and she said "but they're still so cute. I love them!"
The conversation between us started to die down and Abby asked her if she would write down stuff for us so we can get it tattooed and she hesitated at first because she isn't supposed to personalize anything but the security guy handed her the sharpie and paper and she wrote down lyrics from Holy Ground for my friend (I won't say which ones just to keep that special to Abby) and wrote down "I love you." for me. I couldn't think of lyrics at the top of my head when she asked me what I wanted her to write down and I knew the I love you from her would help me through a lot of things I go through in life. As she wrote these things down for us we kept asking her for things and she said while laughing "you guys! I can't write all this down" and continued to giggle. She was so sweet and so kind to us.
When she finished writing things down for us she said "you guys ready to take a picture?" and we were so excited for this moment and we asked her what pose she thinks we should do and she said to my sister to go in front of her because she's tall and my sister wouldn't cover her and after that she grabbed me and Abby so tight and pulled us in for a bear hug. I felt her head tilt onto mine and I lost it. I was so happy and content with life in that moment. The flash went off and that was it. I asked her for one more hug before we left and she said to me "of course babe!" and we left the room. 10 minutes of my life have never gone that fast before.
We walked outside where security brought our other friends to wait for us to come out and as we walked out the doors they all were screaming up and down and hugging us and asking how it was. We were still all in shock and we told them all the most memorable parts and showed them the things Taylor wrote down for us. We hung outside for a little bit afterwards to see other people come outside after meeting Taylor and everyone was so happy and that was everything to me.
Tumblr media
Writing this was emotionally hard for me to process all over again. It took me almost two months to be able to put it all into words. I am so thankful for this moment I had meeting Taylor with my sister and best friend. Something I dreamed of for countless years. Even though this story is over 3,000 words, the words still don't do justice to what happened that night.
All I can say is, I was enchanted to meet you Taylor.

Secret Santa
TianShan Xmas Event: Presents (Day 2) Fandom: 19 days Rating: Mature Status: 1/2 Warnings: None Pairing: TianShan Words: 4,102
Summary: Based on this freaking hilarious & amazing prompt!! I hope you don’t mind that I ran with it. I’m not sure this is what you expected but hey lol enjoy!
When Mo took the volunteer job at the mall, he had done so begrudgingly. It was punishment after all, brought about by boiled-over frustration that had fueled the language he’d used to respond to his teacher’s inquiries about his tardiness. It was the third time that week he’d been late. Put on the spot, he didn’t know how to explain that money was always tight around the holidays and he’d been walking to and from school each morning in lieu of the train.
He was monopolizing any place he could cut some corners to save a few dollars. The allowance he got wasn’t much, but he saved as much of it as possible. This year he’d told himself he’d get his mom something good for Christmas. He hated seeing that overjoyed look on her face when she opened his handmade or cheap gifts. Like the “Mom of the Year” plaque he’d made in shop class last year that she boasted about having on her desk at the hospital, or the cheap earrings he’d bought at a stand she still wore proudly several times a week. A person like her deserved better, she deserved the world, and it frustrated him that he was just a broke high school student.
Getting a job was, “Completely out of the question!” she’d barked when he had off-handedly mentioned it. It was her duty to provide for him, not the other way around. If they needed to make ends meet, she’d work double shifts, he couldn’t afford to slack off on his studies.
Seeing his taken-aback expression, she’d softened instantly. “I know you mean well honey,” she’d said a hand cupping his cheek, “but we’re doing fine.”
The command to, “See me after class!” had been given on the spot and when the bell rang Mo hung back, dread setting in. He waited until the room cleared before even considering approaching his teacher’s desk.
Taking a breath, he stood and gathered his belongings, packing them up slowly, stalling for time. Sweat from his palms smeared along the cover of his history textbook as he fumbled with it, slick fingers shoving it into his bag. He nearly yanked the zipper off his bag when his name is called.
The walk to the front from his back-row seat seemed infinite, blood pulsing in his ears, each step forward magnified in the now empty classroom. But then he was there, hanging back a few steps as if proximity could diminish his impending punishment. He figured this slip-up would earn him a few days minimum in detention.
“What?” Mo spat standing uncomfortably in front of the teacher’s desk. Agitation amounting from anticipation.
The man looked up with a raised eyebrow.
“Watch your tone with me, that little outburst you had this morning coupled with your tardiness has you looking at a week-long suspension right now.”
“What the fuck!” Mo exploded.
The man slammed his open palm down on the desk. “Language!”
Mo flinched.
He pointed a finger level with Mo’s chest. “One more offense like that and we can finish this conversation in the principal’s office.”
Mo clenched his fists, seething, he could feel his temper flaring but he nodded. A week long fucking suspension? His mom was going to kill him.
“As of today you have been tardy 13 times! 13! And you don’t just show up five minutes late, oh no! Sometimes you stroll in here 20 to 30 minutes late. I need an explanation for this, it’s completely unacceptable!”
When Mo remained silent the man rubbed at his temples, trying to ease the tension gathered there, then sighed.
“Look Guan Shan, I’ve seen a significant amount of improvement in your schoolwork and behavior this year. I’m proud of you. I don’t want to see you start backsliding, got it?”
“Got it,” Mo mumbled.
“Look, let’s make a deal: The Humanitarian Club, which I lead, needs a few more volunteers for our Santa’s Workshop at the mall. We desperately need a photographer as our current one recently got sick with the flu and I know one of your electives this year was photography. I’ve seen your work and I’m pretty confident in your ability. You’d just have to take photos of the kids sitting on Santa’s lap.”
“I..” Mo hesitated.
“Don’t feel pressured to do it but.. I’ll be frank with you, it’s either this or suspension. At least this won’t show up on your record. Also, I’d need you to be able to commit to doing it for two weeks, just until our photographer gets better.”
An image of his mother’s disappointed face flashed through his mind, he sighed… but two weeks?
“Ok, when do I start?”
His teacher smiled, glasses glinting. “Today.”
That afternoon Mo found himself at the local mall, and as the automatic doors slid open he was immediately engulfed in a retail wonderland, Christmas style. He wandered around for a bit, window shopping, eyes drinking in the season’s assortment of clothing and trainers in his favorite shop’s windows.
Truth be told, he wasn’t exactly sure where he was supposed to meet for this volunteer job, he hadn’t really paid attention to the details. He been too relieved that he wouldn’t have to explain to his mother his suspension and could instead spin the situation in his favor, as doing some community service out of the goodness of his own heart, having caught the holiday spirit. Yeah… she was going to see right through that lie.
In the food court he made his rounds, filling up on free samples to stave off his hunger until dinner. As he exited the half circle of vendors he could see a Santa’s Workshop display near the children’s play area. Tossing the toothpick the last sample had been on, he shouldered his backpack and headed over.
The site was bustling and he could recognize plenty of familiar faces from school. A few eyed him warily given his delinquent reputation, but most were absorbed in their duties.
Amid the group he spied Zhan and felt his body relax, not realizing how much tension had built up. This might not be so bad after all, he thought. Zhan barely talked but neither did he, at least he knew someone here.
“You too?” He inquired as he approached, bumping Zhan’s outstretched fist.
“In a way, my mom’s part of the PTA,” he stated as if that explained everything. “Apparently they never get enough volunteers.”
“Where’s Jian Yi?”
“Why do you assume he’d be here? We don’t do everything together.”
Mo waited.
Zhan sighed. “He had clean-up duty after school & caught a later train, he should be here in a few.”
“Alright everyone,” a bespectacled girl addressed the group. Movement halted as everyone paused giving her their full attention.
“Last week was great and we had an amazing turn out!” Many in the group clapped and whistled.
“Let’s try to do even better this week,” she laughed. “You know your positions, if you have any questions don’t hesitate to talk to me. Let’s go out there and spread some holiday cheer!” A few whooped in response, Mo rolled his eyes.
They all drifted to their respective roles, and as the crowd thinned the girl’s eyes fell on him.
“Oh, it’s you,” she sighed in annoyance. Mo recognized her as his class rep from middle school. The same one that had demanded he stop playing cards on school time.
“Pleasure to see you too,” he quipped.
“Save it, come on so we can get you set up and out of my hair.”
Off to the side there was a trolley parked with several suitcases stacked on top, she pulled off the topmost one, resting it gently on the floor and unzipped it. Nestled between foam cushioning laid the nicest camera Mo had ever seen, let alone touched. She removed it from its casing and held it out to him.
“You’ll be shooting with this.”
Taking it gingerly from her, he cradled it carefully in both hands. The DSLR was a larger model, a Nikon D series, he tested its weight, pleased that it was nice and solid, felt good in his hands. He ran his fingers along the textured gripping on the side. The lens he could tell came standard but the depth it could shoot was still considerable. He’d be able to get plenty of clear, close up shots. Damn he was in love, he would in a few words, totally fuck this camera. It was sexy as hell and sensitive to the touch. Bringing it up to his face, he aligned the eyepiece carefully along the curve of his cheek and brow, lightly pressed the shutter release. The smooth click of the shutter opening and closing was music to his ears, like the purr on a nice sports car. He thumbed at the playback button to review the photo. It was displayed on the screen in crisp quality; a Christmas tree in a store front effortlessly preserved in time.
“Nice,” Mo breathed.
“The photos you take will save automatically & transfer immediately to that computer station,” she pointed “where we display them to allow parents to pick their favorite. There’s a tripod in that bag too that you’ll shoot from, you just need to set up in front of Santa’s chair. All I ask is, that at the end of the night you box everything up just how you found it.”
“Sounds easy enough, so all I have to do is take the pictures.”
“Yea, try not to fuck it up. Oh, also ruin that camera and I’ll kill you.”
“Noted.”
“Oh, one more thing.” She unfolded an elf hat, and held it out to him. “I need you to wear this.”
“I’m not wearing that,” Mo said dismissively.
A hand clutched his forearm and she looked up into his face, light obscuring her eyes behind thick frames, “Yes, you are.”
“Okay, okay!” Mo exclaimed. What the hell was wrong with these people??
To their left a child bounded down the roped off line, dragging his mother behind him.
She patted his arm. “You’re on.”
Once Mo set up the camera and tripod, which he would admit he struggled with, just a tad, things ran smoothly.
The first few kids, though excited, followed his instructions to smile and say cheese. The student playing Santa he was sure helped facilitate the process, the guy was really good with kids. He greeted them in a cheery manner and made them feel comfortable. He even calmed a watery-eyed little girl, wiped her tear streaked cheeks and got her to smile wide for the camera.
Mo couldn’t help but find himself chuckling at some of the jokes he could hear exchanged or Santa’s reactions to their wish lists. It softened his mood and he found himself greeting the parents and kids in similar pleasant manner. He was almost disappointed when 7:30 rolls around and they close-up shop for the day. Almost. Gathering up the camera and tripod he carried them both back to the trolley; unzipped the travel bag and folded up the tripod stowing it neatly in its compartment. Before packing up the camera he pressed the playback button, cycling through the images he’d taken over the past few hours, mentally making notes of where he’d succeeded and how he could improve.
“Nice work today,” a voice said and he was ashamed of the brief scream he emitted.
“Could you announce yourself.”
The class rep leaned back, a smirk on her face. “Where’s the fun in that? Anyways, I saw the shots you took, good thing your stay is only temporary or our current photographer would be out of a job.”
“I…”
“You’re talented, glad to have you on the team. I’ll see you tomorrow,” she clasped his shoulder briefly before walking away.
Mo soaked in her words, a newfound vigor guiding his actions as he popped out the camera’s battery and stuck it into a portable charger to power-up overnight. I’m… talented.
The words carried him afloat as he left, waving an honest goodbye to the few stragglers. Zhan was still hanging around the set and Mo moved to see if wanted to walk home together but the other politely declined. Mo could see Jian Yi cleaning up the and he gets it. No explanation needed.
The high got him through the sliding doors of the mall exit only to be knocked flat on his ass.
He was blinded for a few seconds as the stupid elf hat he forgot to take off is knocked askew covering his eyes. Rage ensued.
“Who in the mother fuck is looking for death?!”
He ripped the hat off and was met with an outstretched hand in his face. Genuinely confused he looked up as the owner of the hand chuckled.
Fucking He Tian, of course.
“Don’t you have a graveyard to lurk in?” Mo bit out irritably, and smacked away the offered hand.
“Are you implying that I’m the grim reaper? I like that,” He Tian purred.
“That wasn’t a compliment.” Mo got gingerly to his feet, dusted his pants.
“Why are you even here? The mall’s closed.”
“I was doing some shopping,” he gestured to the small bag dangling from his wrist.
Mo could tell by the bag’s logo it was from some pricey jewelry store. He rolled his eyes. “Fancy gift for one of your admirers, I’m sure.”
“Not quite,” He Tian said but didn’t offer an explanation.
“Anyways, I gotta get going so are we done here?”
“I can’t lie you look pretty cute in that get-up,” He Tian said, looking him up and down. “Why don’t you come sit on my lap.”
“Yeah, you’re about the 5th guy to spit that line today,” Mo remarked pushing past him. “Try again.”
“Hmm okay, you know you’re pretty cute when you’re wrapped up in your own little world.”
“The hell kind of comment is that?”
“I saw you walking, you looked content with yourself. A nice change from your usual mad at the world persona.”
“And for this you chose to knock me on my ass.”
“You bumped into me, actually.”
“Right.”
“Why don’t you let me walk you home?”
“How ‘bout no?” Mo said stalking off. Body tensed in anticipation of the strong arm he knew would swing around his shoulders and drag him off anyways but nothing came.
He glanced over his shoulder but He Tian was gone. Weird.
The next day wasn’t as easy as the first. It was, in short, mild chaos.
Mo bounced a screaming baby on his hip as the mother and Santa tried to console its twin. He looked down into her ruddy face, eyes squeezed shut, tiny fists balled as she opened her mouth, silent for a few seconds catching her breath, little body vibrating with the subdued rage she planned to unleash. Mo sighed steeling himself for another round of screaming.
‘Why are you crying? You have no real problems, fuck I should be crying.’
“Say cheese,” he dead panned as the mother finally stepped out of the frame, the other child momentarily consoled.
The baby looked surprised in the picture but at least he wasn’t crying. Good enough. Handing over twin number two to Santa, he glanced at the endless line of parents and toddlers.
“Let’s get this over with.”
Click!
The daily 15-minute breaks were heaven sent and he executed his usual system of hitting up the food court, stopping at every food place offering free samples. By the time he had reached the end, his appetite was comfortably sated. There was still about ten minutes left before he was due for the second half of his shift so he sat on a bench nearby, pulled out his phone to review his finances. The amount he’d saved up so far gave him enough bandwidth to explore several options but he still had no clue what to buy his mom for Christmas. After making this much effort it had to be good, memorable, but what do you get the woman that claimed she had everything she’d ever wanted. He rested his chin in his hand in defeat. Ughh, this shouldn’t be so hard. The bench jostled and he glanced to his left, surprised to see Santa sitting next to him.
“Hey.” the guy offered, voice muffled by the giant white beard that obscured most of his face. One hand shifted his belly so he could sit comfortably.
“Hey..” Mo returned.
“Nice job out there today, I didn’t know you were so good with kids.”
“Likewise man, today was.. something else.”
Santa cracked open a bottle of water, taking a few gulps. “Yeah we have days like that but it’s generally smooth sailing.”
They sat in silence for a bit, the soft murmur of the bustling mall and crinkling of the water bottle drifted between them.
“You.. can’t take the costume of?” Mo asked, breaking the silence.
“Nah, can’t risk one of the kids seeing me and realizing Santa’s not a chubby jolly old white dude. Imagine if they found out he isn’t only not real but a high-schooler.
Mo laughed. “They’ll find out sooner or later.”
“That’s cold man,” Santa said but his grey eyes twinkled behind the spectacles.
Mo shrugged, checked his phone. “Crap, breaks up. I’ll see you back at the workshop.”
Santa raised an arm in farewell. “See you.”
Mo jogged the short distance back, but couldn’t shake the odd feeling that he knew Santa. He couldn’t place why exactly, but the costume restrictions made it difficult to see what he looked like and his voice didn’t sound familiar. Whatever, he would ask him his name next time he had a chance.
As soon as he stepped back on site the class rep ushered him back to the camera, scolding him about tardiness being why he was here in the first place.
Face breaking into a scowl, all previous thoughts vanished from his mind as he double-checked the camera battery supply and adjusted the lighting. He’d just finished tidying up around Santa’s chair when the guy returned from break. Mo resumed his place at the camera as the line reopened and mildly subdued chaos ensued.
Two days down. A week and a half to go.
“Who the fuck are you supposed to be? Rudolph?” Mo addressed Jian Yi as he unpacked the camera and tripod for his shift.
“No,” Jian Yi sniffled, wiping at his vividly red nose. “I’m sick. I think I caught something from one of these brats.” He sneezed, open mouthed of course, snot and drool dripping.
“Gross dude, cover your mouth, you aren’t five,” Mo muttered hastily gathering his supplies so he could vacate the area asap.
Every day that passed without coming to a decision on what to get his mom was making him more and more irritable. Walking out to the set, camera at the ready, the sounds of crying increased the closer he got, an opposing battle cry.
Please, just take me now.
When his break came around, he found himself anticipating the arrival of Santa. It’s not like Mo was looking for the guy or anything. Yet meeting up had become almost an unspoken ritual, in the same vein as Mo forgetting to ask for his name.
The question was always at the forefront of his mind but the guy was hilarious and Mo became easily swept up in the conversation, usually not realizing he had again forgotten to ask until he arrived home that night.
This time the guy showed up with dumplings that keep Mo’s mouth occupied the majority of the conversation, as pickings were light in the free sample area. A few of the vendors had caught on to his scheme and conveniently weren’t handing out samples when he came by.
“Can you believe that last kid spat up on me? I’m never having kids,” Santa declared shaking his head in disbelief.
“Yeah sucks to be you,” Mo chewed thoughtfully. They were quiet for a bit.. “Hey,” Mo started “This is kind of random but what’s your name? I didn’t catch it the first time we talked.”
Santa paused, swallowed. “It’s uh Li Jie,” he said slowly.
“Oh.” Unfamiliar. “I guess I don’t know you after all, I know pretty much everyone at school.”
“I tend to blend with the crowd,” he shrugged, eyes focused on the waning dumplings.
“That’s cool,” Mo said, popping another piece into his mouth. “Me too.”
The week ended and casually spilled into the next. Mo had gotten used to the ebb and flow of the volunteer job, and could proudly say his photography skills had improved considerably. Li Jie and he were becoming good friends but there was something off about never actually having seen the guy out of costume, which Mo joked about. Actors like Li Jie, along with a few others who played Santa’s elves had to get dressed in the mall restroom or come already in garb. Li Jie had a habit of disappearing by the time Mo had finished packing up the camera equipment for the night. He had even invited the guy over for dinner one day but Li Jie had politely declined claiming he was behind on his schoolwork. Understandable, given the fact that they spent three hours after school at the workshop. He had promised to come by once the job ended, a week after Mo’s punishment. Mo had even vented to him about his struggles in finding his mother the perfect Christmas gift, asking him what he should get her.
“You know your mom best,” he had said. “I’m sure she’ll appreciate any gift you give her. Just remember it’s not about the price but the meaning behind it. If the effort comes from a good place, which I know it does, she’ll love it.”
It had brightened his mood at the time but he still wasn’t sure what to get her.
As much as Mo thought he understood life and might even be one step ahead, it had a way of knocking him back ten feet when he least expected it.
“10-4, we gotta brat,” Jian Yi muttered off to his left, pretending to be occupied with adjusting decorations on the set’s Christmas tree.
Mo twisted on his stool, turned his attention to the line, eyes widening as he watched a mother wrangle her screaming daughter into her arms and walk up to Santa’s chair. The girl had a handful of her Mother’s hair and was yelling for all she was worth, limbs flailing.
“Man,” Zhan whispered, “my sister was bad but never like this. “I hope this guy can handle her.”
Mo watched for a reaction from said Santa but it was hard to gauge anything given how much of his face the beard obscured.
The mother looked embarrassed and nervous as she handed the screaming child over to Santa. Mo had to give it to him, the guy was composed, bouncing the girl on his knee, cooing to her, easily calming the crocodile tears. The mother beamed at the turn of events, whipping out her phone to snap a few tear-streaked pictures.
Mo relaxed, relieved to see the situation easily diffused, his heart bloomed a bit in pride for his friend, which he quelled, brain cycling through the mental gymnastics of why he doesn’t actually really care.
Mo had to give it to the guy, he was really good, he watched as Santa leaned in, beard tickling the little girl in his lap, she giggled in response. At this point the lines were rehearsed and Mo could imagine him asking her what she wanted for Christmas. She pondered, tiny face scrunched up in clearly serious thought, then suddenly a tiny fist shot out and she yanked his bread down around his chin.
Mo was on his feet instantly, because no, no way, this couldn’t be happening.
“Ah shit,” he heard Zhan mutter off to his left.
Mo turned on him.
“You knew,” his voice cracked. Zhan looked pained.
“10-4 He Tian is fucking Santa!” Jian Yi whispered loudly behind them. “He’s fucking Santa, are you guys seeing this!”
“Who’s fucking Santa?” another student offered with a snicker.
“Guan Shan..” Zhan said, but Mo doesn’t want to hear it. He felt nauseous and too hot, his hands shaking, felt like couldn’t breathe as if all the air had been sucked out of the space. Mo bolted because fuck this, he would rather have suspension. He can’t believe how stupid he was, how oblivious he’d been, everyone must have known but him. What a fool.
Sorry not sorry to leave y’all on a cliff hanger but part two will come out on Day 5, so if you enjoyed this stay tuned, resolution come soon ;D

Jingle Bell Ball
Joe’s POV
This ones been a bit of a slow burner but i finally finished it, i hope you enjoy it coz i enjoyed writing it :)
Hope you are all well, remember to send in requests/ feedback. Love you guys x
Excitement coursed through my veins as I watched her get ready, a horde of people surrounding her, swallowing her with make-up brushes and pallets and powders, making her face brand new, something I wasn’t used to seeing. She normally didn’t care around the house, she was normally make-up free. She had already slipped on her outfit, so she didn’t smudge anything being painted onto her face, like her lipstick or eye-shadow or whatever. She was clad in a green shimmering crop jumper and shorts, which confused me a little as all day she had been going on about how it had snowed yet here she was, wearing shorts… I guess performing worked up a sweat. All in all, the outfit was very seasonal, green sparkles everywhere along with dark red lipstick and boots and extremely glittery festive nails.
She looked over at me, an elated expression painted across her face, her joy seeming endless, I could tell from her attitude all day and the way she had been literally buzzing for hours that she was excited to be getting back on stage, it was obvious she loved it. I admired her never- ending passion for her work and the fact that she never seemed to tire of it, she loved surprising people and performing for them and seeing them sing along and join in and enjoy themselves, you could even go as far to say, it’s what she lived for; to make people happy.
At around 7 p.m. I told her I was going to find my parents and sit in my seat because she would soon be going on stage, I told her I couldn’t wait to see her and she smiled at me, ‘This performance is for you,’ she said, her fingers intertwining behind my neck, she leaned into kiss me, the comforting taste of her lips giving me butterflies, ‘You’re gonna ace it.’ I said leaning back and placing my hands on her shoulders, I kissed her forehead before taking a step back towards the door, my eyes not leaving hers until I had shut it and had left to find my seat.
I walked down the many corridors, asking directions at least twice about where I needed to go, luckily, no one knew who I was and to be honest, I don’t think anybody particularly cared, but still, they smiled and gave me the right directions, happy to do something other than just stand there doing nothing. I swear they made this way as difficult as possible, there were rarely signs saying where to go so the place ended up being similar to that of a maze, I texted Taylor, telling her how hazardous this place was and asked her to ask them if they ‘could sort their shit it, because you have more influence than I do…’
Eventually after multiple wrong turns, I found my parents along with my seat, we where seated near the sound booth, with a wonderful view of the stage and the crowd surrounding us, I saw them with all their signs and odd outfits, some of them with fairy lights wrapped around them and some of them in infamous Junior Jewels T-Shirts, I looked back at the stage and smiled as I imagined my beautiful girlfriend up there, singing her heart out, in her element. My smile widened as a thought popped into my head… I should film it for her and then show her later and point out all my favourite parts. I took my phone out of my pocket and glanced at the screen, it read 94%, that would definitely be enough to film her set, which would last around 30 minutes I guessed.
She came on stage around 7.30 p.m. and even her intro blew me away, she sang ...Ready For It? And I was mesmerized by the way she had the whole crowd holding their breath, waiting for those iconic notes and the delivery of those killer lyrics. God, she was incredible. Her endless bounding energy and gorgeous smile made my heart flutter with pride, she looked so happy when she was up there and I couldn’t help but sing along, it took me back to this morning, we stood in the kitchen, I don’t wanna live forever playing through the overhead speakers and me twirling her round and round as though she was a princess, she certainly looked like it in her cat pajamas and messy bun. I smiled at the fond memory, even though it was the beginning of her set I already never wanted it to end.
The crowd went wild at every song, especially at the old ones, shake it off and blank space, there wasn’t one person I saw who wasn’t singing along, the beat making them want to dance, it was irresistible, even the most negative people found themselves shaking their hips and their lips moving to the lyrics of the song. My heart swelled and I couldn’t wait to tell her how much I enjoyed it, every second was filled with electricity and it truly felt incredible watching her perform, constantly thinking, that’s my girlfriend.
She paused before starting her next song, talking to the crowd, telling them about how excited she was at the snow and how it was on the same day as this Christmassy performance. I could confirm that it was all she had been talking about all day and how at 8am this morning, when she glanced outside, she instantly opened the backdoor and bounded out into the snow, not caring about a coat or wellies, her sole focus the cold white stuff falling from the sky. For some reason I had followed her and tackled her into the snow where we both ended up, uncontrollable giggles escaping us.
She looped the guitar strap around her shoulder and strummed it once, the sound echoing through the crowd, she mentioned phone lights and everyone instantly obliged, white lights instantly lighting up and people swaying slightly as she switched from chord to chord, calming the atmosphere with her golden voice. I looked behind me, my phone camera still in my hand, showing her how many people had joined in with waving their phones in the air and how many people loved her. The atmosphere she created was magical and I could feel my feet almost lifting off of the ground with the emotion she was creating.
The feeling in the arena changed when the phone dial played and everyone knew what was coming, her dance moves made me smile, I remember her practicing them in the living room, only happy when she had gotten them right and not giving up until she had. The look on her face at the moment was priceless and I wish I could take a photo but she was so engrossed in her performance that she wouldn’t stop and pose. Oh, cause she’s dead! The crowd screamed as she sang it, the iconic words known by everyone. I smiled as she whipped her hair from side to side, bounding around the stage breathlessly. It looked exhausting.
She talked to the crowd a little, telling them what she was playing, telling them it was from her most recent album, reputation, The crowd screamed louder as they realised what she was playing and I couldn’t help but smile as the intro played, Gorgeous, I knew why she was playing this song, she was playing this song because I was here and she knew I would get it, as she sang the lyrics I beamed knowing the origin story for this.
We had met at a wild party that Garrett had taken me too while she was there with all her girlfriends, I noticed them from the other side of the room, engrossed in each other’s company and the shots being brought over to them. I was stood with a beer in my hand, not really feeling like partying hard just enjoying watching the girls and hearing their drunken shouts from across the room as they all downed the alcohol in their glasses. The night had moved on and I was definitely tipsy when I saw the girls making their way over, I recognized some of them from magazines and news stories, they laughed and chatted with me, their conversation odd as they stumbled slightly while uncontrollably giggling. She hadn’t said anything to me but I smiled at her, I remember being in awe of her beauty, even though she was drunk she looked incredible and my heart skipped at the sight of her. By the end of the night we had swapped numbers and we’d been close ever since, obviously getting closer since last October.
Before she finished the song, I made my way through the crowd, towards the stage so I could greet her and kiss her when she came off. I weaved my way through the people, hoping no one would recognise me now that I had songs written about me people could actually tell who I was. I wasn’t just some nobody actor from England anymore. I stood in front of the steps and could see her performing from where I stood, her whole entire performance had been incredible and I was so unbelievably proud of how much energy she had and how amazing she was.
The last note played and she thanked the crowd and said goodnight to them, still waving as she came off stage, she turned her head in my direction and our eyes locked, her smile broadened and she bounded down the rest of the steps into my arms, I hugged her tight, squeezing her body in my arms never wanting to let go. We pulled away and my smile mirrored hers, ‘You were so good.’ That’s all I said before taking her face in my hands and kissing her, I realised we weren’t in an overly private place so I pulled away but still latched onto her hand as we wandered back to her dressing room.
We heard voices coming from inside, probably Patrick and his mates. We entered and there they were, sprawled across the sofas, chatting casually, acting as relaxed as if they were at home or in Patrick’s bedroom. I chatted a bit before Patrick suddenly exclaimed, ‘Oh My God.’ He stood up quickly and ran across the room, picking something up which I couldn’t see. Taylor chuckled as she realised what it was, leaving me in the dark. Patrick held his arms behind his back and smiled at me, he was almost the same height as me now, he swung his arm round and hap-hazardously placed a REP hat on my head, we both chuckled as I adjusted it, I’m keeping this on.
We sat in her dressing room for a while, letting Taylor re-energise and eat some food, re-applying her make-up and chatting with everyone, I made sure she knew how much I had loved her performances and how they had truly blown me away, constantly reminding her of how proud I was. I wasn’t sure of the time but at one point we all made our way out of the room and back towards the stage, wanting to see Ed’s performances, knowing they would be incredible.
My arms were around her as Ed’s voice echoed through the arena, a truly magical noise, he used all of his cool equipment which Taylor always mentioned and I smiled as I watched her watch him, both of our faces in awe yet for different reasons. I remember I had been to one of his shows before, I remember taking Patrick a few years back on the Multiply tour and the way he’d worked the crowd and how he’d performed amazed me, almost as much as Taylor’s performances did.
I heard the notes of Perfect begin and my heart instantly swelled, Taylor turned to me, looking at me with love in her eyes, she kissed me quickly yet softly, hoping no one around us saw but secretly not caring because we were happy and this was the song that we had claimed as ours. She turned back to watching Ed as we swayed together, I kissed the top of her head, then closed my eyes to just enjoying his mesmerising vocals.
I remember when it had first been released and we had danced around the kitchen in each other’s arms, our eyes closed and our bodies inseparable, we had swayed to Ed’s voice, simply enjoying the magical atmosphere that he had created. From that night on, every time I heard it I thought of her, I thought of us dancing in the kitchen, the weather outside cold and the fireplace roaring. I remembered feeling at home with her in my arms, feeling like nothing could destroy this moment because we were together, and when we were together nothing could truly be terrible.
It was late when we got back to the house, all the lights were off and we were both exhausted from dancing and singing along all night. The after-party had been the main killer as the alcohol had now almost worn off and we just wanted to collapse into bed and get some well needed rest. So that’s what we did, we slept all night in each other’s arms.
We slept until the morning light spilling through the curtains woke us up and we realized that it wasn’t a dream, last night had happened, and we would never forget it, last night would last forever.

Schools Out
Balloons, lights, music and proud parents clapping and cheering as they watch their children dressed in suits and wrapped in dresses, get handed a scroll that declares them Graduates. One by one each class of students and their parents or attending guardians were ushered into their seats in front of the stage built in the courtyard. Every class had an elected representative that would give a speech after everyone received their diplomas. Adrien had been standing on the roof overlooking the courtyard watching as everyone graduated, he wanted to be there for one of the most important moments of their lives. Having grown used to her brother being just out of sight Fe' spotted him shortly after the ceremonies began, she waved giving a smile.
Adrien didn't know most of the classes that went on stage but he stayed nonetheless, Plagg found this boring but respected Adrien's decision to stay instead flying off to talk with Tikki. Really he only stayed to watch Marc graduate but didn't know which class they were in so he stayed to watch them all, while he waited he chatted with his precursors. When Marc's class was up Adrien was surprised and happy to see he had been elected class representative. Nathaniel had arrived early to be by his side along with Fe' while Marc gave his speech, which was met with great applause. It was dusk now and the cloudy sky was radiating with beautiful tones of orange and red, only one class remained, the class he had been waiting for all day. Watching from a distance left a slight tinge of sadness in Adrien's chest ,it was graduation, and here he was standing in the shadow of the sunset only able to show silent support.
Marinette had been elected class rep but she invited Chloe to the stand, placing one arm around her and smiling ,they had grown close, and together they delivered a short but inspirational speech.
M: "Hardships"
C: "Change"
M: "Disasters and Akuma's are all things we have endured but we keep moving, we've helped and supported each other through it all"
C: "We will not be stopped from living our best lives and choosing how we live them"
M: "Today marks the day we move on to the next part of our lives, I just wish we could have done it all together" she choked up clutching something tightly, holding it close to her chest.
Now Chloe put an arm around Mari continuing seamlessly "We just wish that a member of our class and dear friend went missing could be here and since this is being broadcast live-". The class, Marc and Fe' all gathered around the podium.
Marinette put on her best smile and held up another scroll, letting it fall open to reveal a diploma with one of the few photos that exist of him with a real smile. "Wherever you are ,if you’re watching, congratulations Adrien, you're an honorary graduate" she said looking into the camera that was broadcasting the ceremony live. On the roof Adrien was happy enough to make him shed a tear in gratitude to his friends, Nalma and other precursors placed their hands on his shoulder though he could not feel it. Shortly after the ceremony finished Plagg had returned and congratulated Adrien at a safe distance not wanting to get grabbed and hugged again.
Nino and Fe' met up with Adrien back at the tavern where he and Milo greeted them with shots from the same bottle of whiskey they had been drinking from since they finished renovations. And so once more they celebrated with a shot for everyone, unfortunately Chat Noir needed to go on patrol but before he left he grabbed the picnic bag he had prepared earlier. He knew that his partner had also graduated that day though he did not know from what grade nor school she was graduating from.
"Bonsoir Mon Minou, you seem happy" Ladybug greeted warmly as Chat Noir approached humming.
"Bonsoir Ladybug, of course I'm cheery, my partner and almost everyone I've known graduated today why would I not be" Chat replied.
She shrugged "Looks like you and I are in the same boat so I guess you're right, what's in the sack?" she asked pointing to the bag slung over her partner's shoulder.
"I made some celebratory meals for us and our Kwamis" he explained reaching into the bag, adding as he pulled everything out "I'll sit on your right and I brought a mask so you don't-". He was cut off by a flash followed by a hand reaching for his face, the distinct lack of a red suit with black spots let him know what she was doing. Before she could turn his face Chat forced his eyes shut and mentally muted his connection with his precursors, a displeased frown forming on his mask.
"Chaton, please our Kwami's know who we are and they want us to, why don't you trust me?" she asked pleadingly.
"Plagg, Claws In" gently ,with eyes still shut, he removed her hands from his face holding one in place as he reached into the bag and pulled out a sandwich holding it between them. In a relaxed yet caring voice he stated "I trust with my life-" placing the sandwich in her hand before letting go then pulling out a slice of Camembert and cookie "-But not my secrets". He was comfortable being de-transformed around his partner now because she didn't know who he was and revealing that he was Adrien could destroy her. But making up an identity would put him back at square one, he didn't want to revert to living two lives ,it would only become an intricate web, and he refused to weave another. Quietly unwrapping her sandwich and taking a bite Marinette silently accepted Chat Noir's bitter sweet words, it was to know that he trusted her.
Taking a bite and swallowing she was surprised at how good the food tasted "This is really good, are you sure you made this?" she asked jokingly trying to lighten the mood.
"You wound me Ladybug, I might not have gone to culinary school but I do know how to make basic restaurant food" he replied adding with a chuckle "-part of the job after all".
Marinette laughed at the dramatic movements he always did, "So are you going to eat something or am I going have to feed you?".
Removing his mask and leaning close enough to feel her breath Adrien channeled his inner flirt, opening his eyes he peered into her and in a voice as smooth as silk "If that is what you desire~". He was so close now that all she could see were the green eyes that were locked with hers rendering her unable to look away. She became flustered ,his eyes reminded her of Adrien's, and it had been so long since he had made a flirty comment she was caught off guard and couldn't form full sentences. They stayed staring into each other's eyes for only a few seconds before he once more closed his eyes. Pulling back he chuckled offhandedly remarking "You're still cute when you get nervous and flustered, reminds me of a girl I knew". Marinette's face went red from embarrassment, she took a large bite of her sandwich chewing it angrily as she tried to pretend like she was fine.
Out of curiosity she cast a glance over to her partner, she knew that he was Adrien's look alike but even in the dark the resemblance was striking. The four of them talked and joked between bites as they ate, enjoying the light and carefree atmosphere, they wished it was like this all the time. When the food was gone and their Kwamis were asleep a silence fell between them. Adrien was content with enjoying his partner’s presence but he could tell she was anxious. After a few minutes Marinette broke it thanking him for the meal and saying goodbye before transforming and zipping off as Ladybug. He stayed behind lighting an I.C. to relax with Plagg and connect with his precursors before he had to leave for his shift.
Nino had promised work in the Tavern when he was done with school and Fe' offered to lend a hand when she could so it wasn't the end of the world if Adrien was a minute or two late. He was wondering what Fe' planned to do now that school was out though, the distinction of 'when she could' had some implications to it that left him curious. After discussing it with Plagg and his precursors he pushed the thought to the back of his mind ,transformed, and headed for the tavern. It was a slightly busier than a normal night because of graduation but with an extra set of hands the workload was easy for them to handle. At the end of the night after everything was cleaned up and those who had drank more than their share were put to bed Milo volunteered to stay.
"I'll stay here with the 'sleeping beauties up stares" he said shooing them out the door.
"You sure uncle, it's the weekend" Nino protested.
Milo shook his head "It's graduation day and you all worked the night, I'll take babysitting duty tonight, you kids go home and relax" he told them smiling as he closed the doors.
The three of them looked at each other and shrugged, "I'll see you later Bro and maybe you too, Sis" Nino said exiting the alley with a wave leaving Adrien and Fe' alone.
"Plagg, you rested enough for the trip home, I didn't bring the bike" Adrien asked opening his jacket, the Kwami yawned but nodded silently "Plagg, Claws Out". In a flash he was Chat Noir "Hop on'' he said turning his back to Fe' and bending down slightly, she hopped on and wrapped herself around him tightly as he launched onto the roof. They didn't talk much during the trip back to her house but he did ask a question he remembered from earlier. "Hey Fe', school's out now, so what's the plan you don't seem like the type to work full time at the tavern".
"I've got my schedule filled, don't worry about me, what about you?" she asked.
"What about me?".
Fe' shifted "Well the tavern is a good night job and being a hero keeps you busy most of the time but what about when you finally stop Hawkmoth, what then?".
Chat was silent for a moment, "Haven't thought that far ahead yet but you know me ,always the one to think on his feet, I'll be fine" he told her.
"That's not what I asked" she retorted, they were almost to the apartment now. He was silent until the school was in sight, the large banner reading "Congrats grads" still hung above the entrance.
When he spoke his tone was serious and level, he had thought of what came Hawkmoth and he didn't like the implications. "Even when or if we finally find and defeat Hawkmoth this city will still need people to watch over it, crime rate in the city has gone down exponentially since our appearance. If we were to disappear with the threat that brought us there could be serious repercussions, all I can do is hope that is the one who granted me this power allows me to keep it. Fe' there are forces in play that I don't know how they will act when our job is done". All he could do was hope for the best ,but he hated that, he hated things so far out of his control when he knew the shortcomings of those who would take what they gave him. "I'll cross that bridge when I come to it, for now though I'm on the front line and I'll be damned if I won't protect this city" he stated assertively with determination in his voice.
Squeezing him tightly as they free fell to street level landing in front of her building Fe' whispered "That's the Brother I know and love" before getting off. De-transforming Adrien walked Fe' to her apartment picking up a now not so small Belial letting him lay over his shoulder before saying goodnight. Plagg was too exhausted to even eat the Camembert he was snuggling with in the pocket that he had chosen for the night. Adrien figured he would wake up and eat before morning, not quite being tired yet he decided to make the climb to his sleeping spot. The climb was enough to tire him out, lighting another I.C. he sat with his eyes closed petting Belial as he said goodnight to Plagg, his Precursors, and Belial eventually dozing off.
Inside Marinette found it hard to sleep, her mind raced trying to answer unnecessary questions that had formed during her time with Chat Noir. "Why does he wear s mask, what is Chat's real name, what secrets is he keeping?" all these and the one question that still gnawed at her after so many months "What changed while I was gone". She paced back and forth in her room for hours mumbling these questions aloud attempting to formulate answers from what she already knew. When nothing came to her she found herself desperately wishing that Plagg would come casually floating through her wall to tell her all his wisdom of the man behind Noir.
As if summoned by her dilemma Plagg did come floating in, he entered through the same wall he always did ,just about the round window looking out over the street, but something was off. Marinette greeted him quietly ,not wanting to wake Tikki, but he didn't respond in kind with his usual greeting, instead he mumbled unintelligibly and burped. Marinette approached him as he slowly floated across the room and immediately found what was wrong, he was asleep and possibly dreaming. She poked the Kwami to try and wake him which startled him causing him to yelp and fly straight up through the roof before she knew what happened.
Blinking a few times she looked up toward where Plagg disappeared to, with an annoyed sigh she grabbed a pair of socks and prepared to go onto her balcony. Plagg, who was confused and still dazed from exhaustion looked around at his somewhat familiar surroundings. After rubbing his eyes and taking a moment to orient himself he shrugged not knowing why he was floating over the Ladybug wielders balcony. Flying over the edge and back down to Adrien he phased his way back into the cheese pocket.
"Plagg?" Marinette asked in an only slightly hushed voice as she stuck her head through the balcony hatch, reaching up she turned on the string lights before climbing up. "Where did that crazy Kwami fly off to?" she thought to herself looking around, when there was no sign of him she was about to go back inside when something caught her eye. A small wisp-like trail of greenish purple smoke dancing in the breeze, it was coming from somewhere below the railing at the end of her balcony. Slowly she approached the edge looking down once she reached it to see a figure garbed in a familiar outfit with a cigarette that smelled of lavender burning in their mouth. "Chat?" she called over the edge confused ,there was no response, "Chat Noir" she called again louder this time, still no response.
She grunted in frustration before walking off, returning with a stress ball, throwing it at the figure she thought to be Chat Noir hitting him square in the head and bounced. The sudden impact jolted him awake causing him to convulse which shook Belial awake making him stretch and yawn. Looking around he noticed lights and a figure above him and a foam ball in his lap. Spitting out his I.C. he grabbed the ball he stood up and leaped toward the balcony grabbing onto the railing with one hand.
"Some people are trying to-" he snarled, his mask still removed, and arm raised ready to throw but stopped upon realizing who it was, Marinette was taken aback in surprise and mild fear. For a second the two they stared at each other, long enough for Belial to hop off his shoulder and onto the balcony. He broke the silence, "My apologies I believe this is yours" he said lowering his am and handing her the ball.
"It, it's fine, are you ok?" she asked, putting the ball down and reaching for his face, regardless of who this person was she was concerned.
Seeing her reach for him he realized that his face was still uncovered, turning from the light quickly taking out his mask and putting it on to cover his face. "I'd appreciate it if you furr-got what you saw" he said trying to salvage the situation with a weak laugh.
Marinette pulled her hand back, this was definitely Chat Noir but he was de-transformed and she didn't recognize his face, his resemblance to Adrien was striking save for the distinguishing scar. "Chat Noir?" she asked her voice unsteady and concerned, he didn't respond. She wasn't sure what to do, she could reveal herself to him now but that could scare him off for good but this was probably the only chance she was going to get to learn anything about her partner. "You are Chat Noir aren't you, why are you sleeping outside?" she pressed trying her best to play dumb but sound concerned.
Adrien sighed disguising his relief "Good she believed the ruse" he thought to himself but she had clearly seen his scar, he needed to make sure she didn't tell anyone. "Marinette, right?" he started waiting for her response before continuing.
"That's my name, yes"
"Adrien has told me a lot about you-" he said climbing up to sit on the railing like a cat.
"What are you doing sleeping outside Chat Noir, you should go home" She told him, probing.
Chuckling he replied sarcastically "Paris is my home" Belial walked along the railing to sit beside him "Correction, 'our' home" he added stroking his purring companion.
She scowled "That's not what I meant and you know it, we aren't strangers Chat what's wrong, what happened". Marinette was right that she and Chat Noir were not strangers, he had saved her on a number of occasions even going so far as to work together to defeat a few Akuma's. However they have never spoken in length unless it was to plan or Chat telling a group she was in what they needed to do. Her view of Chat had changed significantly since his shift to a more professional demeanor when he was with her as Ladybug, pieces were mentally beginning to slide into place. Chat's costume change, his professionalism, him ceasing to chase her romantically and his involvement in Adrien's disappearance all must stem from the event that scarred him.
Changing to a normal sitting position he said "I meant what I said Paris is my home and nothing short of a cat-astrophy could ruin today, I'm all smiles" tracing a smile across his mask. "But on the note of smiles..." his voice lowered "I need your word that you won't say a word of what you saw to anyone ,not even Ladybug, can I trust you?" he asked.
She froze for a moment, it was rare that Chat let his serious side show so openly, especially around civilians considering that he was still feared to a certain degree by the public. While Marinette was honored that he trusted her with the secret of what was behind his mask ,even if it was out of his hands, at the same time she was annoyed that he did. "Why are you hiding so much of yourself from Ladybug aren't the two of you partners?" she asked hoping if he trusted her civilian self enough she might be able to learn more.
Shaking his head he replied "I'm an old soul Marinette, I've seen and done some shit I'm not proud of but there is no doubt in my mind that I'll do and see some more. People who think that they know me believe that I'm 'above' stuff like that but the truth is I’m neck deep in it". He inhaled deeply holding it for a moment before releasing "People who know me through and through know that there are few things I truly hate to do. Hurting those I care about or trust because they thought I was something I'm not is one of them". Echoing what he said to Ladybug he told her "I trust Ladybug with my life but not my secrets" adding "-but it's for more than privacy, I do it for their sake".
Marinette clenched a fist, she wanted to slap him, she wanted to tell him that she was ladybug right then and there but didn't, all she could bring her self to do was say "Stupid cat".
"Hahahaha you sound just like her" he pulled out his phone checking the time "It's late you should get some sleep, I need to start patrol" he said feeling a tap on his chest. He whistled for Belial who jumped to his shoulder, "Plagg, Claws Out" turning to leap away he looked back "It was nice to finally meet you in a more casual setting. Maybe I'll drop by again sometime, till then 'Purr-incess'".

As 2018 is nearing the end, AceShowbiz is offering a recap of each month’s biggest event throughout the year. Check them out below.
1. JANUARY
WENN/FayesVision
2018 had a rather bleak start with Mark Salling’s death of suicide by hanging on Tuesday, January 30. The actor, who was known for his role as Noah “Puck” Puckerman on FOX’s musical series “Glee“, was found lifeless, hanging from a tree near a riverbed in Sunland, the area where he lived.
His death arrived as he awaited sentencing after he was pleading guilty to possession pornography. Prior to his passing Mark allegedly attempted to commit suicide in the bedroom of his L.A. home before he freaked out and called his roommate for help.
Following news of his passing, a slew of his former “Glee” co-stars paid tribute to him on social media. Among them were Matthew Morrison, Iqbal Theba and vocal arranger Tim Davis.
2. FEBRUARY
Instagram
Contrary to last month, February brought an exciting news. Kylie Jenner shocked everyone by dropping a major bombshell. After it was long-speculated that she was pregnant with her first child with boyfriend Travis Scott (II), the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star finally confirms the rumors on February 4.
Taking to Instagram, the makeup mogul announced the arrival of her daughter Stormi Webster. The baby was born on February 1st.
“I’m sorry for keeping you in the dark through all the assumptions,” Kylie told online devotees. “I understand you are used to me bringing you along and all my journeys. My pregnancy was one I chose not to do in front of the world. I knew for myself I needed to prepare for this role of a life time in the most positive stress free and healthy way I knew how.”
3. MARCH
ABC
Spring means a new season of “The Bachelor“. This year’s season though, might be different from the previous ones and one could argue that it might be the most controversial season in the franchise’s history.
Arie Luyendyk Jr., who was pointed as the leading man of season 22 of the ABC dating show, was dubbed the most hated Bachelor after he publicly dumped fiancee and winner Becca Kufrin for the runner-up, Lauren Burnham.
The race car driver met up with Becca a couple weeks after getting engaged during the finale. Becca initially thought they were going to spend the weekend together but it turned out they met up because Arie wanted to call things off with her as he still had feelings for Lauren.
“I felt like the more I was hanging out with you the more I was losing the chance of reconciling with her,” Arie told a shocked Becca. “We left Peru and I didn’t want to be as honest with you about how conflicted I was.”
Arie is now happily engaged to Lauren and is planning to have their wedding next year.
4. APRIL

Actress Allison Mack, who is known for her role as Chloe Sullivan on “Smallville“, made headlines after news of her getting arrested for alleged sex trafficking, sex trafficking conspiracy and forced labor conspiracy broke. She was indicted for an alleged leading role in the NXIVM sex cult, which leader Keith Raniere was arrested late last month in Mexico.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Eastern District of New York, both Mack and Reniere were accused of branding their victims and forcing them to participate in sex acts through the various self-help programs that Raniere established within his umbrella organization, NXIVM. Mack was allegedly “one of the women in the first level of the pyramid immediately below Raniere.”
Following the arrest, fellow actress Samia Shoaib revealed that she was approached by Mack as she tried to lure her into the twisted world of the alleged sex cult. The Pakistan-born actress alleged that Mack sent her overly friendly and frantic emails in attempt to get her in a “women’s circle” back in March 2013.
While Mack didn’t seem like a bad person, Shoaib said that one email stuck out to her the most. “Thank you for last night! I had a lovely time with you and [your friend]. You are both delicious women,” Mack allegedly wrote in an email after their final dinner in the same year.
5. MAY
WENN/Dutch Press Photo
One of the biggest weddings in 2018 arrived in May when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle officially tied the knot on Saturday, May 19 at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. Followed by 10 bridesmaids and page boys, including Harry’s four-year-old nephew Prince George and three-year-old niece Princess Charlotte, the former “Suits” actress walked up the steps of the church in an exquisite white dress with flowing train and long lace veil designed by Givenchy artistic director Clare Waight Keller. She completed her stunning bride look with the Queen Mary Diamond Bandeau Tiara, made in 1932 and borrowed from Queen Elizabeth II.
In the procession, which was attended by famous figures including Abigail Spencer, Priyanka Chopra, James Corden, Amal and George Clooney among others, Prince Charles replaced Meghan’s father Thomas Markle to walk her down the aisle. Thomas was unable to attend the nuptials since he was suffering from health issues.
During the ceremony, which was conducted by Dean of Windsor David Conner, U.S. Bishop Michael Curry made a passionate address while the guests were treated to a gospel rendition of 1961 song “Stand by Me” by Karen Gibson and The Kingdom Choir. Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, officiated the marriage vows, with Harry and Meghan then exchanging wedding bands.
One of the sweet moments from the nuptials was when the camera caught Harry whispering to his bride, stating the words, “You look amazing.” The happy couple later announced in October that they are expecting their first child together.
6. JUNE

Another loss hit the entertainment world after Kate Spade was found dead in an apparent suicide on June 5. The founder of the famed fashion brand hanged herself in her New York City apartment.
The brand confirmed the heartbreaking news through its official Twitter account, writing, “Kate Spade, the visionary founder of our brand, has passed.” It continued saying, “Our thoughts are with her family at this incredibly heartbreaking time. We honor all the beauty she brought into this world.”
— kate spade new york (@katespadeny) June 5, 2018
Kate committed suicide after suffering from depression and anxiety for many years, according to an official statement released on Wednesday, June 6. “She was actively seeking help and working closely with her doctors to treat her disease, one that takes far too many lives. We were in touch with her the night before and she sounded happy,” the statement added.
7. JULY

Fans were shocked on July 24 after it was reported that Demi Lovato was rushed to the hospital in Los Angeles for a suspected drug overdose. Law enforcement said Demi, who has been open about her struggles with substance abuse for years, was treated with Narcan, an emergency treatment to reverse the effects of a narcotic overdose.
The “Heart Attack” hitmaker was later revealed to be “awake and with her family” following the near-fatal health scare. “Demi is awake and with her family who want to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers and support,” her rep said in a statement. “Some of the information being reported is incorrect and they respectfully ask for privacy and not speculation as her health and recovery is the most important thing right now.”
Taking to Instagram to address her condition in August, the “Cool for the Summer” singer said, “I want to thank God for keeping me alive and well,” before thanking her fans. “I am forever grateful for all of your love and support throughout this past week and beyond. Your positive thoughts and prayers have helped me navigate through this difficult time. I want to thank my family, my team, and the staff at Cedars-Sinai who have been by my side this entire time. Without them I wouldn’t be here writing this letter to all of you.”
8. AUGUST

Alongside Rose McGowan, Asia Argento was one of MeToo movement activists after she accused disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein of sexual harassment in October 2017. However, things took a twisted turn after it was reported that the “XXX” star was involved in a sexual assault scandal of her own.
Actor and musician Jimmy Bennett claimed that the actress sexually harassed him when he was only 17 in 2013. According to the document, the two, who played mother and son respectively in “The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things“, met at the Ritz-Carlton in Marina del Rey with Bennett’s family member before the “Marie Antoinette” actress asked for sometime alone with the actor. The mother of two then gave him alcohol and kissed him. Afterward, she gave him an oral sex before they had a sexual intercourse.
It was also mentioned in the document that the sexual encounter with Argento was so traumatic for Bennett that it affected his mental health, career and income. It reportedly left him feeling “extremely confused, mortified, and disgusted.” The “Poseidon” actor later sued the Italian actress and director for $3.5 million in damages for the intentional infliction of emotional distress, lost wages, assault and battery.
It was revealed that Argento then paid $380,000 to Bennett in November 2017 as a part of the agreement. In exchange, Bennet had to give a picture of him and the actress in bed along with its copyright to Argento.
9. SEPTEMBER

The world lost one of talented souls in September. Rapper Mac Miller was found lifeless from an apparent drug overdose in his San Fernando Valley home on September 7. He was 26.
The tragic news comes just months after his breakup with singer Ariana Grande, who was engaged to comedian and “Saturday Night Live” star Pete Davidson” at that time.
The “Swimming” spitter previously shared his concern in an interview, saying, “was not happy and I was on lean very heavy.” Miller added, “I was so f**ked up all the time it was bad. My friends couldn’t even look at me the same. I was lost.”
Despite his passing, friends and fellow musicians are trying to keep his music and legacy with the launch of Mac Miller Circles Fund, a new foundation meant to help provide resources and programming for arts education in underserved communities. The foundation was launched at a benefit concert called “Mac Miller: A Celebration of Life” on October 31 at Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, which featured performances from Travis Scott (II), SZA, Chance the Rapper, Miguel, Ty Dolla $ign and more.

2018 is indeed a hard year for Ariana Grande. The “God Is a Woman” singer has yet to emotionally recover from the trauma she had from the bombing attack at her Manchester in 2017, and she had to face the harsh reality when one of her ex-boyfriend, Mac Miller, died in suicide. The emotional struggle apparently took a toll on her whirlwind relationship with Pete as it was reported that they decided to call off their engagement in October.
It was said that the “Sweetener” singer thought “this wasn’t the right time for them.” While Pete was understandably heartbroken over this, he knew that this is the best for them.
However, they were allegedly not ruling out any possibility of getting back together as the two are still pretty much in love with each other. “They have a very special connection, partly because Pete has been there for Ariana during a painful time in her life. She will forever and always be grateful to Pete,” a source claimed. “They felt constantly under a microscope. They felt that they literally had no privacy and it really took a toll on their relationship,” said a source.

Cardi B surprised fans when she announced her and husband Offset‘s split on late Tuesday, December 4 via Instagram. In a video, the “Bodak Yellow” hitmaker admitted people had been “bugging” her about their relationship before she finally decided to address it in the clip.
“I’ve been trying to work things out with my baby father,” she said, before confirming, “We’re not together anymore.” Claiming that they’ve “got a lot of love for each other,” she said they would remain “good friends” and “good business partners.” She added, “He’s always somebody that I run to … to talk to.”
