Running from riki

Just a lil fluff imagine I wrote on wp

Warnings: none rlly just a bunch of cuteness<3

also im new to writting on here so idk how to make it pretty pls help

"Baby, listen, the whole time your hand will be in mine hmm? I don't want no running off kay?" Niki asked in a soft yet stern tone as You smiled nodding. Within the 5 seconds in which you entered the mall, your feet were itching to run to the nearest store, your mind already running from store to store as your eyes scanned the whole place.

"Baby- remember what I said-" Riki added, his eyes narrowing to the littlun beside him "Of course baby I will- OOH CLOTHES-" There you go, running to the clothing shop but Riki was quick to act...

In one swift move, he pulled you into his arms, hugging her securely as he stared down at your slightly flustered figure "What did I tell you, princess?" Riki asked as you hid your face in his chest.

The male smiled at this action, softly letting go, his hand still gripping onto yours as they walked through the mall. Yet again, your feet were taking you to all kinds of stores, Riki being quick to act, pulling her back, cautiously not wanting to injure her arm.

His eyes suddenly fell on a running toddler, the toddler's parents' holding the toddler on a leash "Babe- I think we need to go to a store that sells those leashes-" Riki pointed out as you giggled, mischievously.

"why? are we going to have a baby???" You asked giggling at the way his expression changed "WHAT- EH- NO- ONE BABY Y/N IS ENOUGH FOR ME-" Riki defended himself as you just laughed more at the poor boy.

"So what if I can't get a kids leash thingy- I can always get a dog leash- Im sure it'll fit around your neck-" Riki said as y/n kicked his ass. "OW-" Riki yelled and within seconds she ran off in a random direction.

"She a runner?" A man randomly asked, sighing as Riki noded, with a sigh "She's a runner she's a track star-" he replied "Mine too- so I put her on a leash-" the male said, pointing at his daughter as Riki simply walked away, searching for You.

"There you are, princess- I swear we're going to have to do online shopping from now on if you keep running like this-" Riki sighed as you giggled "But babe that's boring-" You whined as Riki placed a soft peck on your forehead.

His hand held onto yours again as you two left the store. Was it annoying? yes, was it exhausting? yes, but either way it made him happy.

It made him happy to see his beloved giggle and run happily when with him, and on top of that, it gave him a reason to hold your hand more often, he loved the thought of everyone in the store knowing he's your boyfriend and you're his girlfriend.

And overall, he loves you, the most important reason why he tolerates your chaos. "BABY BABY BABYYY- SCREW MC DONALDS IT'S TOO EXPENSIVE- LET'S GO WINGSTOP!" You squealed as Riki snickered, placing a soft kiss on your cheek.

"As you wish princess~" The boy smiled, his hand firmly holding yours, as he matched your speedy pace, the 2 of you walking to the food court as you ordered your food.

Poor Riki was met with an empty space beside him when he got the food, the male sighed as he looked around, only to see you sitting by an empty table, cleaning off the crumbs from the people before.

He walked over to you, hurriedly, hoping to not lose you again, he placed the food on the table and hugged you tightly. "You really are a runner- you scared me for a split second I thought I really lost you-" Riki mumbled as you blushed at his words.

You kissed his lips softly as you looked up at him "You know- you're really cute when you're shy- and worried- but don't worry- Im not going to disappear that easily-" You smiled as Riki ruffled your hair.

Gooooood morning Trigun fandom, I'm up bright and early, ready to sink my teeth into today's analysis/detailed watchthrough episode - 11. To A New World.

I can't believe we're almost done with @tristampparty. These 12 days have been a blast and I'm very glad that I got to chat abt them!! I've been in a bout of artblock recently too, so I'm glad that I can just ramble instead!

Spoilers for Trigun Stampede and Trigun Maximum, and CWs for. okay this one is a Lot, but discussion of violation of bodily autonomy, sexual assault and trauma, pregnancy, transphobia, harm coming to children, Millions Knives in general, Vash's passive suicidal tendencies. If I think of any more I'll pop them up here but this episode is a heavy one!

If you wanna skip those first few CWs (Totally understandable <3), you can skip the paragraphs labelled with a [CW] at the front.

[CW] Okay so we're gonna tail off the end of Episode 10 for a second, but uh. Knives in this scene is using extremely Loaded Language to outright tell Vash that there is something wrong with him that needs to be fixed.

Just to be clear I do think Vash is very trans-coded (intentionally or not), and that very strongly influences how I interpret this scene - I myself am a trans man as well.

Cool, moving on! That's all really for the end of ep 10, I just needed to point out that Knives is using language that is commonly used to justify corrective sexual assault; which is pretty much what my reading of this scene is analogous to.

what in the fresh hell i got jumpscared by dub again. returning to subs hold on a moment. Like i've been checking dub occasionally to match up some dialogue and make sure I'm not being misled by Subtitle Jank but I'm one of those guys who can't listen to anything without subtitles lmao

But i also think i do get the funniest possible translation of this line - actually wait no i hate the double meaning (with Vash's body being used to kickstart the pregnancy imagery). was that intentional. who did this.

Anyway Meryl kicking Wolfwood is really funny but also like. Yeah. justified. She's having a no good awful time but like. She's so willing to believe in Vash, to chase after him even into Extremely Dangerous conditions (There's those hints of Trimax Meryl again....) and Wolfwood is being an ass here. (An understandable ass. But an ass nonetheless). Which is to say YEAHHH MERYL GET HIS ASS!!!

Knives' gay little like. bodysuit here. He and Vash have the same build but their respective clothes make them stand out very differently. Also that Knives' stuff seems to have more muscle definition (HYDRATE. You shouldn't have that Knives you need water :pensive:) which could be building towards his more intimidating appearance.

Also I'd be a fool to not show everyone my initial reaction to this

I've talked a little bit about how Vash uses his gun as a tonfa (thwacky baton) most of the time in melee combat, and I think that's a great way to show him utilizing something Knives gave him to Kill as a nonlethal weapon - in this, however, he doesn't have it and his normally very fluid very good form martial arts is flailing and panicked. Vash is pretty good at keeping his cool in most combat situations, and is a very skilled fighter. Seeing him lose that cool and just start struggling when Knives tries to grab him is :(

Once again the metal/organic dichotomy is coming into play - the creation of inorganic but the destruction that comes from the organic. Typically plant (as in flora) powers in media lend themselves to being creation powers, life, and healing. But Vash here has that plant (flora) theme but those are very much a force for destruction.

Also Knives with the angelic white, and Vash with the black.

I hate Conrad So Much (he's such a good character). Like we Know to some extent that dependent plants are self-aware enough to feel pain, to hold onto memories, to hatred, to love. They don't have consciousness the same way humans or Independents do, but they feel, they live, they understand what Vash tells them. Maybe it is a shallow form of themselves. But I think something a lot of people fail to realize is that (some, not all, because they are individuals even throughout a hivemind) plants appear to enjoy their purpose.

Once again the memory that is shared with Knives in Trimax of a woman and her child thanking the plant for her service and she smiles? After being fused, that plant held onto that memory. I've been given no reason to believe that plants in Tristamp are different, so Conrad is just,,, ignoring the subtleties of plants and taking away their agency to choose for themselves. Doubly so for Knives, who can communicate efficiently with them.

A very quick blink and you'll miss it detail is that Vash says "It was our fault humans crashed here!". The shifting blame and guilt between the two is something that is fighting the narrative allll the time, but Vash attributing to both of them as an appeal to Knives is interesting to relay how he feels.

I also don't think Vash is right, though, when he says the only reason humans abuse plants is because they crashed. Tesla was before, Chronica in Trimax has apparently seen independent fusions before (For what reason?). Like yeah to this extent it's a result of the big fall, but there'd still be problems without it. Nobody is right in this argument lmao

(except me. I'm always correct about everything ever)

[CW] Once again - violating Vash's consent and autonomy because he does not agree with or differs from Knives. Corrective violation, in this case. It's also important that it's Meryl who calls this out - she has to really really struggle for her autonomy to be important. She's small, carry-able, inexperienced, doesn't have any special powers or genetic modification. She's carrying a tiny gun from a man who can never back her up anymore. In fact, nobody is backing her up! She's out here alone! But she's sticking up for Vash. She cares about him,,,, so much

SURPRISE ROBERTO ATTACK [sobs]

Meryl pulled the nail out of him and placed his hands gently over the wound, as one might do in a casket. A memorial of cigarettes and his flask. All this will be destroyed soon, but Meryl did give him a funeral to the best of her ability.

Knives using Roberto's image is cruel as hell. Not to Vash but to ME. He's already dead you can't do this to meeee. "How do you think they'll react when they learn you caused the big fall" He will never learn it!! he never got the chance!!!

So fun fact you can actually eat geraniums. It's just that if Rem had said yes Vash probably would have eaten it right there and then. I've made that mistake before (told one of my class that nasturtiums were edible and he just ate one. right from the plant)

So; the Tesla scene. Something I do want to point out is that Rem finds them almost immediately, and Knives doesn't immediately pass out - Is he still catatonic enough to miss Rem's speech, or did he hear it? Because the reason that Vash turned out like he did is because he was awake to go through that with Rem - Knives was unconscious the entire time and didn't get to start that trauma recovery.

It's also important to recognize that these memories could be unreliable, especially as Knives tampers with them later.

I do want to know which version of the Bible Knives was reading. Because depending on translation/version, you can get Very different ideas out of that.

Anyway Knives is kind of beginning his spiral in that memory - "Humanity never learns" kinda shit, which seems to take place after Tesla. Who knows how long. But baby Vash calls that out and goes "yeah lets have faith"! Baby Knives looks a tad shocked and then Present Knives just. Cuts off the memory. What was the ensuing conversation!!! Hello???

Like he's clearly Having Thoughts (The Horror), we just don't get to know what those were.

So remember when I said it was interesting that Vash said it was "our" fault that the ships crashed, sharing the blame?

Yeah that gave Knives some ammo that just. Broke him. Shifts it allllll to Vash. Update Vash's description to running on 18 guilt complexes, CPTSD, and bisexuality.

[CW] There's so many different forms of assault, metaphorical and. Not. That is happening in this scene from mind violation to Knives literally using Vash's (specifically Vash's) body as a vessel to impregnate other plants which. Hey did you know that pregnancy is a massive fear of a lot of trans men. So many transphobes reduce trans men to their capability to have children, as if that's all they're good for (even if it would kill them.), and that often leads to corrective rape in order to "remind them of biological reality". In this case, Vash is a plant, he's meant to create, and yet he doesn't. But he's still being used to create anyway.

Again, Meryl also directly calls out Vash's lack of consent and gets shot down by Conrad. The whole scene is just. Hgnrhgnhrhnrnrn. It's So,,, everything to me, because it's a really good scene and shows you how far gone Knives is in Tristamp.

There are panels in Trimax that are,,, the imagery is there, but it's very overt in Tristamp.

Also hey yeah. Why is Conrad still alive?? Did he have access to cold sleep? or it's probably the robotics but did he not think of enhancing humans that way? It might just be a temporary solution, I guess, given that he is. Actively coughing up blood.

Alright! I have finished this part of the analysis that I always Feel Strongly about lmao - I have fun doing it but that's such an emotionally heavy episode.

okay so quick warning for very big spoilers if you haven't been able to see the newest eps of hazbin hotel, this is gonna he talking abt a major reveal that happened in eps 5 & 6 so just be warned

so, Alastor is on someone else's leash. woah. I was shocked and had to pause the ep to collect my thoughts. One question though, who? well forst let's talk abt who it couldn't be:

- Lucifer, they've clearly never met each other and started fighting as soon as they met

- any of the Vees, it would be funny but Alastor wouldn't be passing off Vox so much, Val would be using him the same way he uses everyone else, and I can't see Velvette keeping quiet abt having the Radio Demons soul

- anyone at the hotel, they're either owned by him, way less powerful than him or Charlie, who is just too nice

- any sinner, hellborn or otherwise local that is less than an overlord

so that only leaves a few alternatives.

- Another Overlord, which could work since the only people we see making deals like the one Alastor would be in, and while Alastor is described as powerful, this is only ever by sinners and Vaggie, who don't have much of anything else to compare him too, but when Alastor is with the other Overlords they brush him off, they're respectful to him but they're not scared and they're not trying to get in his good graces, they're not acting like you would expect power hungry demons would be around someone with so much more power than him. He's more of an equal, probably less since Camilla doesn't even care about him going missing, so he 100% could have been in danger, possibly at one of the exterminations or possibly another Overlord, and entered a deal to save himself

- One of the Sins, these guys are one of the only thing in hell more powerful than the Overlords, so even if Alastor is the most powerful Overlord in hell, the Sins could take him without a sweat, so they could enter a deal easily, the only thing is, what would a sin want from him?

- One of the Royals (Goetia) the thing about this one is that we don't see many of the royals, we see Stolas, who is too preoccupied with divorcing his wife and trying to un-neglect his daughter, and his father, who could be dead for all we know. We know Stolas has a lot of siblings, but again, we don't know what's happened with them. So my idea on this one is pretty much, one of Stolas's siblings grew jealous of him and entered a deal with Alastor to take him down, but that doesn't stand on much of a leg bc it kinda depends on Alastor getting beat by someone else to be put in enough of a vulnerable position to agree to give his soul away, and I see the other Overlords or one of the Sins being able to pull off, but not one of the Goetias

- Lilith. This one seems like the most likely to me (and others) bc of their matching timeliness, Alastor has been missing for 7 years and Lilith has been off doing something for 7 years, so it would make sense for Alastor to have just been with Lilith, possibly helping her, he also went straight to Charlie when he got back instead of wrecking havoc or trying to do something dramatic to announce his return, which could have been Lilith asking him to help take care of Charlie (it also explains how protective Alastor is of her when Lucifer comes to the hotel, Lilith could have told him things abt Lucifer that made him not like him) and in the whole series he's been doing whatever Charlie wants him to do, even filming himself, which is something he absolutely hates, just to help with the hotel and make her happy, Lilith is also the second most powerful being in all of hell, so she would have the power to make that deal and also destroy Alastor, or at least threaten to destroy him with the threat holding actual water.

- The Angels. This one is a little less likely than the Lilith one, but with what was happening in ep 6 i think it's plausible. My idea is that sometime before Alastor went missing (maybe even when he first manifested), an exterminator or maybe even Sera came down to hell and threatened him on pain of death to sell his soul and do their bidding, which would be to kill as many demons as possible. that one makes the most sense if it was back when he first started his killings, since it would give him the power to do what he did and also reason beyond him being a Dramatic Bitch(tm), and it could have been afterwards too, with an Angel seeing his potential and deciding to grab him before he could get out of hand. This would also tie in with the headless angel storyline they're doing, since now Alastor has proof an Angel can be killed it gives him a chance to get out of his deal which he very obviously doesn't like.

these are just a few of my thoughts, I do think the Lilith one is the most likely but I personally think the Angel one would be more fun? it would give us yet another perspective on how evil the angels actually are (so far we have it from the residents of hell and 2 past angels as well as Emily being disillusioned by what she learnt in ep 6, so I think it would be interesting to see how they treat the people they 'own') but do take in mind that I'm operating purely on what has been posted canonically (the og pilot from 2019, the prime show and helluva boss) so I could be contradicting things viv has said so feel free to correct me if any of these are just totally impossible

sol at the crick is like. it's very new in my mind so i don't have That many details ironed out, but. okay so the setup of it is that swag, when he flees mothership, steals an egg. runs with it. knows he can't take care of a kid, especially with mothership after him, so he flees into the living wood and finds his way to the crick. entrusts sol to them (probably bumpy and jolene specifically, is my thought) the thing that's interesting abt it. to me. is that sol, as we know him, grew up really yearning for like, family and bonds. which is a huge part of crick culture. and not necessarily something he'd be lacking in this, but... also i don't think it's that easy. i think he'd still really want connection. and like. okay. i think bumpy and jolene would tell him abt swag. when he's old enough they tell him more details, that he's a clone and a little about mothership. for sol's safety more than anything. but i think that inserts this thought into his head that he's always kind of felt-- he's different from everyone else at the crick. makes him want to find out more. so he leaves to go to ezry. what if you were surrounded by the thing you wanted more than anything but it still never fit Exactly right. y'know. (also i think sol'd either just start a long death monk, be an ascendant dragon monk from training with big bev, or be a mercy monk who picked up healing from hanging out with so many druids.) (also x2 though i haven't thought that much of it bc i came up with this like an hour ago, this would be fun with changing up some elements of callie and calder's backstories too. i'm not sure exactly what yet tho)

any other..... sweats......... i have so many. i really like roleswaps in general, and i've been thinking of a handful where i swap up the timelines/roles of the different parties of adventurers. like. if you have melora/telaine/aryox, ulfgar/thiala/alanis, jolene/marabelle/cobb, the boobs, duck team etc... shuffling them around. like. okay you have the like, ancient trio where one of them becomes a god, right? what if that trio was actually jolene/marabelle/cobb instead, and jolene becomes a god. what if it's the boobs (insanely i think. i'd make hardwon the god. in this). or melora/telaine/aryox as the legendary heroes. or like, i'm really normal abt the calder helm deal and i have thought a lot about alternate timelines where callie or sol is forced to do something similar. sol with alexandrite. callie with oberon. after the recent eps i started thinking abt an au where callie is a diviner. earlier today i was yelling about pendergreens-ing gideon. but. i've also in general got a lot of eldermourne thoughts. i did at one point start to write smthn where fia, when she and irina were kids, pledged herself to irina as a paladin. it was like. fia as the only paladin of a demigod, neither of them knowing the weight of it. a connection like that matters, though, and the reason i started writing it was the idea that fia, when she was alone, would talk "to" irina. and irina heard her, like they were prayers.

oh i also for a while was thinking abt. aus where the boobs were the ones who were forced to time-loop instead of alanis. and the different ways it broke each of them. that was fun.

Are you kidding? I relished in it.

I LOVE the silver and candle dynamic cause it's just really fascinating,

Like ok, we have silver who's very clearly not mentally stable, like you can kinda tell that he's got some Issues(tm). And Candle who kinda treats his behavior like a dog with a clicker box. Put him down when he's bad, praise him when he's good; and like yeah she just wants him to be a better person, but idk if this is the way to go abt it when Silver is desperate for her approval and acceptance.

And the final part 1 just kinda shows how out of it Silver is. That whole thing about "I played the whole game as myself" is a blatant lie that anyone analyzing his character can point out.

Imo I don't blame Candle or Silver in the end of the episode situation. Like Candle is in every right to shut him down for still being like this during the voting, but I do wish they'd just talk it out (though that wouldn't be as interesting now, would it?) but that said, Silver is VERY clearly having a sort of mental breakdown at the end of the ep to the degree that he's not going to listen to reason, he's just going to lash out. And as someone who also lashes out when distressed, I can't help but feel for him. Like yeah, he hurt Candle, but he clearly didn't 100% mean to, it was a very emotion driven thing (which I can relate to). I think him dealing with the ramifications of hurting Candle will be lesson enough.

Also he should get therapy. Like yesterday.

thoughts on the paralive ending (spoilers, very incoherent)

lots of mixed feelings but I'll start of with the one thing I really liked: rowdiez instrumental made it into the ending :') didn't get a 3d mv but good enough ig

something I realized (kinda embarrassing it took me 12 eps but) finally figured out why the lab coat guy sounded so familiar. I tried checking MAL and the wiki but he didn't have a page so I had to check the ending credits but he's voiced by fyodor (also funny that he literally has no name. he's just "white clothes guy")

ok so for the mixed feelings part: I'm generally pretty open to adaptations doing something different (trimax vs trigun vs stampede and I like all of them) and maybe paraani will grow on me but the CD dramas are still better. I don't like how they removed a lot of iori akyr in general the characterization outside of the groups (satsuki's crush on anne, tsubaki entirely, club candy is there in theory except nobody talks about it, iori and zen are just in some really office building, yohei and iori's past (unless shuffle ovas???? /overdosing on copium))

the whole metal corrosion thing came kinda out of left field, especially how it started affecting the audience? somehow?? Like the other phantometal users sure, but the audience?? moving on already bc too many questions to unpack (I haven't listened to s2 of the dramas, but I heard cozmez never got that match with buraikan? do we get an explanation for that btw? I know I didn't happen like this but I mean I guess the ending point won't affect s2 too much)

I was kinda right abt the BAE saves the day thing but at least it was also all of them saving kanata? but the idea if ppl rapping at you until you get over the angst of remembering your twin is dead (except he's actually not but wtv) is kinda silly. (I'll take all the akyr actually doing something crumbs I can take at this point) bonus points for shura to just start playing a beat from the speakers and then leaves

I don't think they explained how nayuta's alive? and they had the audacity to not include shiki in the ending rooftop scene? (I know they were doing unit montages but like. did shiki even get to see real nayuta. he just. never got closure???) at least we got alt hair for cozmez tho (black hair kanata and long hair nayuta)

sorry I've been thinking abt this episode for a day and I still can't articulate anything :/

Here's a random, quick, and not completely thought through anime take:

Okay, so I'm rewatching AoT (for like, at least the 8th time), and I'm on S3 Ep 15. If you forget which one that is, it's in the reclaiming of Wall Maria arc, and it begins with a flashback to the reclaiming of Trost arc showing us how Marco actually died. **Spoiler alert if you haven't seen it yet: He overhears Reiner and Bertholdt talking abt their titan forms, and they tackle him onto a roof/front door overhead, have Annie strip him of his ODM gear, and leave him there for a titan to eat.

Now, while I do blame Reiner, Annie, and I guess Bertholdt (though he didn't do much), I can't help but feel like Marco could've survived at least a bit longer. Why? Well, unless they broke his legs and the anime just skipped over that, I thought of a couple of ways off the top of my head:

Way 1 – the window: If he turned his head to the left, he would notice a window, which Annie threw his ODM gear through, which created a hole big enough for his arm to fit through and which very clearly had the ability to open. He could've easily put his arm through and opened the window from the inside and crawled in before the titan got to him OR if he didn't have enough time, he had boots, so just kick the window in and crawl through.

Way 2 – the door: He coulda just rolled his ass off the roof (yes, it's sorta high, but not THAT high) and kicked in the door or any nearby door.

Again, that is unless, of course, they broke his legs, and the anime just skipped over that part, but even then, the window is a valid option.

Hi!

can you summary abt their side stories in eps of 10-11? if u dont mind 😭🙏

Most of the fun stuff in the epilogue happen in Ch 1-10, where we get to see Rupelali's cute newlywed life + and at the end of Ch 10, Rupert finds about her pregnancy and Lari's super relieved to see that he's super happy/supportive about it too. So not much happens in the last two chapters: Rupert is in extreme papa bear mode and fiercely overprotective of Lari and his kid now. He and Lari were at St Volgorward (the holy city) for her High Court Judge duties, and they ended up staying there for the rest of her pregnancy (about 7+ months). They did try to return to Champagne, but the journey was a few days long and they were attacked by Duke Arnbach on the first try back to Champagne, so Rupert's like "nope, we're staying in Volgorward until it's safe". Rupert crossed swords with Duke Arnbach again, and killed him for treason against the Empress in front of the Council of Elders, which basically shut the rest of them up. It's a cute moment as Lari's also at her wits end and about to pass out from exhaustion, but seeing Rupert there, she starts bickering with him and accusing all this pain is his fault cuz he got her pregnant, and well, Rupert' can't refute that haha. But it's a good thing Rupert's there, because his presence gives her strength for the final pushes (as well as grabbing his arms tightly till they were scratched/pulled at his hair too ^^' + once again, he thinks how Lari can be so petite but able to bear so much in her body) but in the end, their firstborn, Elizabeth (Ellie) was born safely. The ending of the Epilogue is a short scene between Louis, who is talking to the St Volgorward lake that is slowly purifying Tori's Blue Eagle crystal. He wanted to tell her that Rupert has a child now, and of course it's with Lari. The two of them grew up nicely and even had children before him. He admits that he's older and should have children too, but he thought of the three of them - Rupe/Lali and Tori as kids anyway, and was happy to see at least two of them grow up. So maybe, Tori will return soon? (this sets up for the special side stories) The end

Reread through the notes I made and to sum it up, I do think the pararai anime is neat! I knew spoilery stuff about Nayuta since way back when and had a general grasp of the character's trap reactions, but not so much about the general plot (aside from the winners and all) so I don't think I have much thoughts about it?

As a story in of itself though, I like that each group gets their time in the spotlight but apparently TCW doesn't get a full performance?— My notes kept mentioning it and I seemed a little annoyed—

Also live love laugh Ryu being a menace. It was enjoyable enough but given BAE and Cozmez seemed to be in the spotlight, it sort of left TCW and Akanyatsura behind in terms of development (Although they seemed developed enough, if that makes sense)

first, I was so worked up last night after the eps I couldn’t sleep and I’m so excited for next week. eeek!

second, I want to second what you’ve said abt rollins bc I’ve felt the same way for yearsssss. but I thought I was maybe not getting/missing something about their relationship? let me explain…

so we know liv and amanda are friends and, at some point, are close (considering she is jesse’s godmother). however, i feel like for a long time they’ve only been giving work friend status. and once you no longer work together, that relationship falls apart. you no longer have things in common at work and never really had much in common in your personal lives to begin with.

this would explain why she didn’t tell her abt the baby, imo. they’re not close and haven’t been for a while. and that’s ok! seasons of life and all that…

but idk..am I missing something? admittedly, I’m not the biggest 2.0 fan so when those eps are on I usually don’t watch and haven’t seen most in YEARS.

I do think there's a work friends thing happening to some extent - if it were not for the job it's hard to imagine them liking each other enough to be friends (they are both, also, not the kind of people who have friends). But the work they do has made their bond profound; there isn't a lot outside work that would make them friends but bc of what they've been thru together they matter to each other, very much. Anything Amanda needs, Liv will be there, no question. It's harder to imagine Amanda showing up for Liv - outside of a work context - but I don't think that's bc Amanda doesn't care about her, I think it's bc Amanda is not the kind of person who shows up. Like you don't call her if you need help moving. She's not coming. Liv will rent the truck and bring water bottles for everybody. I'd like to say they trust each other but that's not quite true; Amanda trusts Liv, and Liv wants to trust Amanda, but she's been burned there too many times and there is always something just a little. I don't wanna say judgemental but Liv is keenly aware of Amanda's faults, and they both know it. So Amanda keeps things from Liv, bc she doesn't want a sermon, bc she doesn't want to disappoint Liv. Liv keeps things from Amanda, bc Amanda is not the kind of girl you share your deepest secrets with, unless you're drunk. There has always been an imbalance in their relationship; Liv is older, and was something of a mentor figure, and has always sort of mothered Amanda, and I think now that she's older and maybe a little wiser Amanda resents that. But in their relationship, Liv has to be the Responsible One (when she's not!! Really!! It's a role she has to play bc) Amanda's whole deal makes Liv look stable. And Amanda is the one with the husband and the babies and the safe, warm home life Liv dreams about, and Amanda can't talk to Liv about it; I'm fully going off script here but I like to think it's bc even tho Amanda loves carisi and her babies and is happy there's a part of her that chafes inside of her safe life, and she can't be honest with Liv about that, bc she has what Liv wants and she maybe thinks Liv will think she's ungrateful. Their relationship is complicated bc they're complicated; they're both a little fucked up, in some similar ways, in some different but complimentary ways, in some diametrically opposed ways, and it makes things that should be simple - telling your friend you're pregnant - incredibly complicated - now you have to explain why you haven't called her for months while she's been mourning you as if you died. There is so much to dig into with those two honestly

i wonder how did they come up with the song choices? lucifer managed to get some attention from the general public but U was not interesting enough. thought i applaud their performance, especially the vocalists ryu and minjae. that one guy in the judge panel was totally like their dad, he's so proud of every trainee which is so heart warming to see. he really cares about them.

riku is so cute, i cant help but compare him to yushi they look really alike. he has more charms to me than yushi for now, he shy pop dance got me squealing i think he has gained a solid fan 🤣 i can't wait to see their performance for TVXQ-Why next ep, with the new trainee (heh another DY). riku would slay the rap for sureeee

i'm kinda annoyed by how it's halfway through the show already and we still don't see them performing any nct songs 🤣 this unit is supposed to be the last nct unit, and there is no correlation at all to me. idk what direction sm is going with this nct japan unit, but 4/5 eps in i cant see the neo. the closest i can see is kassho for his visuals that would fit the kwangya concept, and he has a certain charm. and maybe anderson, he just stands out to me.

the lastart trainees are not ready to be in nct, really. they're still young and fresh, and with the japan showcase coming up sm is really just throwing them into the waters to be devoured by sharks 😭 the fanbase is going to be so cruel and these trainees dont deserve that :( i hope they will debut with a concept that suits them and also the neoness of nct.

Maybe U was popular in Japan? SuJu and other groups being represented on the show helps the show and the future NCT unit help tractioin. Koreans are all about hierarchy. NCT is the latest bg group, it shouldn't go before their seniors, and the neos who will guest should see the more progressed trainees (you know, the final line, the sight of the prize (NCT members as the co-members) for the contestants).

It will be hard for the unit. WayV and 127/Dream are already a bit distant with members having their own individual bonds (Kun-Chenle, Ten - 127 hyung line, YY-Renjun, XJ-Taeil). With the Japanese unit there will be the age gap, the experience gap and the lack of memories/interactions. I hope SM comes up with some bonding show.

Abt Wednesday, I'm a huge Addams family fan and I was looking forward to see a school full of supergoth kids but... She's 'the' goth girl? Weird. Also I wish they told you more about the school, like does everyone have powers? It doesn't seem to be the case, the worldbuilding is a bit lacking, for me. Also the love triangle just makes me laugh. I like both guys but... Why. Other than that it entertains me but I was hoping for something much different. It should be much much weirder.

The way if they didn't tell u every 5 seconds it's a school for weirdos u wouldn't even realize like they literally look like they go to Riverdale high there is literally nothing strange or peculiar about them. What was also so boring was their dance like ur telling me the """weird""" kids are dancing to dua lipa and not to bauhaus and siouxsie??? The only thing they got right was the cramps but now their song is all over tiktok so at what cost.

I wish the show had been made for actual weird kids and not ur average netflix enjoyer/tiktok user which was impossible from the start as it was a Netflix show but it could've been good if it was from a different platform and catered to the right audience.

Anyways yes the worldbuilding is so weak I swear the first three Gorillaz albums have a better storyline and are more cohesive than whatever they did on Wednesday.

Love triangles always suck sooooo bad honestly like not to be annoying but Wednesday and enid made more sense than Wednesday and any of those guys and also it's so funny bc she literally only talked to them about solving the mystery and they're both like u led me on and sent me mixed signals like what . Also they both looked the same it took me a few eps to tell them apart

What also rly annoyed me was how ugly the sets and lighting and costumes were even the first season of sabrina did it better like everything just looked so normal and boring when Burton's films used to be so visually compelling with its practical effects and strange quirky sets and costumes were always so on point and here there was literally nothing of that

The only good thing was Jenna Ortega's performance she literally carried the entire show and she would've been perfect had the show followed a completely different direction but good 4 her excited to see what she does next

Then again u can't really expect a Netflix show to do anything else but entertain but what bugs me here is that they used such an iconic goth character and just yassified her and took a lot of what made her so unique and beloved and jenna did everything she could to bring her some justice but sadly that wasnt enough with that script and basically everything else . But thats capitalism and the death of film i guess
