How can you be sure they love you?

Lucifer:

● He is the most straightforward with his words when it comes to expressing his feelings for you. There are no ambigous expressions, no metaphors, no nothing, just simple "I love you"s, which he isn't afraid to tell you every morning and every night from now on.

● You also receive gifts sent / given by him, though he isn't so good at thinking of new ones so it's usually a boquet of roses, fancy chocolate or some kind of jewellery.

● He hardly ever lets you go anywhere alone from now on! Someone has to be with you at all times. No arguing about it!

● Please don't expect lots of quality time together. Even if your presence is the only peace he gets throughout his entire day. He spends as much time as he can with you but it is out of his control. Sometimes you do get a couple of hours with him, sometimes it's 20 minutes a day. Don't take it personally, of course you are on his mind every day, of course he would spend more time with you if he could. (He's not going to like it if you tell him "if he wanted to, he would")

● Please touch him, he is starving for intimacy. Just make sure you keep it lowkey in front of his brothers & Diavolo. Everyone else is okay to see PDA.

●Appreciates your acts of service and he generously rewards you for it but don't expect him to do the same for you, unless you really struggle with a task.

Mammon:

● You're not going to get no privacy from him. Top #clingiest demon in the world.

● He is very unaware of this, but he keeps touching you, sometimes subtly sometimes not so subtly. (He sits so close to you that your shoulders and legs touch, wraps his arm around your waist whenever he gets the chance, etc.)

● He also gets you rather expensive presents from time to time, where he gets the money for it is a mystery though. (He been working a lot to treat you right okay!!)

● However, he sucks at expressing his feelings with words. 0/10 do not recommend. Good luck and don't give up, evetually he might tell you he is most ardently in love with you.

●Doesn't really do acts if service either. Maybe sometimes.

Leviathan:

● All of a sudden he is much less talkative around you. First you think he just doesn't like you for some reason. You thought it was going fine but... well.

● The situation escalates when he writes you a love letter, telling you everything you wanted/needed to hear. With spoken words he is not so good, fumbles a lot, forgets where he was at, but his letter is on point.

●The best way he lets you know about his feelings is through quality time. He makes sure the emphasis is on quality and not quantity! He can become really funny when he tries to!

● Acts of service happens in game mostly.

Satan:

●Very much into quality time with you! Indoors or outdoors doesn't matter as long as you spend time together.

● Gets nervous from PDA, don't do it often... when no one else sees you he is absolutely mesmerized by your touch though.

● He is one of the best with words; expect poems, books dedicated to you! Also tell him how good if a man he is, loves to hear it!

● Not very much into acts of service, very independent kind of guy and expects the same from his other half.

● He is also not much into gifts. Doesn't believe in money doing the loving instead of the person.

Asmodeus:

● The king of touch and reassuring words! Down for this two anytime and anywhere!

● He appreciates anything you do for/with him but expect PDA and sweet nothings the most.

● Of course if neither of the 2 works for you he can do anything to make sure you feel loved.

● The only one who can make you feel loved to the bone no matter what your love languages are. He doesn't have a weakness regarding these kind of things.

Beelzebub:

● I think he is an acts of service kind of guy. Does the dishes for you, gets you dinner, stuff like this.

● Also likes to be touched but strictly in private! Gets so nervous if anyone sees.

● He tells you he loves you often and isn't afraid to tell you why! Though "I love you" as a full on sentence is a bit rare from him... he puts more effort into it... like "You are the kindest person I know and I love you so much for it."

● He also gets to spend lots of QT with you. Watching a movie, going for a run, he is down for whatever.

● Not much of a gifter himself but truly appreciates if you give him gifts. Might cry a little.

Belphegor:

● You get to spend QT with him most of the time. Also becomes very possesive of you so you get little to no privacy at all.

● He tells you he loves you often but sometimes it sounds a bit.. off? Like he doesn't really mean it?

● Not much of a gifter either... rarely when he knows you'd like something specific he'd get it for you but as I said it's rare of him to do so.

● Big on touching you, however. Like Mammon, he'd be very close to you the entire day. If you move away he is moving with you.

● He barely does acts of service eventhough he lowkey expects you to do some for him.

meta!!!!! honestly. to me. meta is a journey. a transformation. never fully solidified, always in flux. by the time they are actually the meta it is no longer sigma here and maine there in the same helmet. putting more and more fragments in the same organic mind must have been mental hell in a few ways for someone unused to this. the chaos. the fragments were from the same ai but they were still their own selves. u get it.

theres no way to know what went on in there the whole time and i dont trust rt to write that but he’s still. very special to me. especially post-emp. they are gone. his(their) head is empty again. quiet. 

personal headspace stuff warning for those who’d rather scroll by:

especially early on in 2020+. i got locked in my head a lot. my little subsection of our headspace is an oubliette/panic room bunker cylinder. i’ve since been able to add windows and i know i CAN technically get out now. but for a long time it was just me, and an impenetrable wall of fog with no way out, and only a window way up in the ceiling i couldn’t reach. no one could reach me, i couldn’t reach out either. it was extremely lonely, very grey, and it just made me miss everyone i was able to talk to before. this is probably why i feel so attached to him, because i know what suddenly being shut off from all your system members feels like (idc that it was artificial bc the fragments were intentionally inserted, they were a system.)

feels like someone stripped you down to your OS when that happens honestly and you have to keep moving in a world that expects something of you yet. what do you do when you are back to being just one person alone in your head? how do you figure yourself out? other characters have said the meta was seeking more power... but that’s not right, i don’t think. when sigma& were in there, in the meta soup crockpot. they wanted to be human. be whole. reaching that metastability. and after they were gone. do u really think he would not have jumped at any chance to get one of them back? yeah AI are powerful. but so is loneliness. 

i think maybe. if he would have lived. he would have had little introjects like epsilon made. maybe a neosigma. maybe there was a partition he started putting up when everyone else got too loud and split off a separate maine that was buried when things kicked into high gear. i dont know. there’ll never be any of this in canon so it’s only my speculation but. i like them, i like to think about them.

there show distinctly separates this transformation into several parts but only because that’s all they show us. they show us pfl maine with no ai. they show us pfl maine + sigma. they show us the boogeyman the meta is made into through the lens of hte other characters. they show us a meta a bit more clear-headed but still in possession of personality, sapient thought. but my brain wants to know (always) what happens in between. because it was never a light switch moment that caused these things, it was things stacking up over time, like anything else. i want to know how wanting to help sigma achieve metastability turned into acquiring the other fragments at almost any cost. it’s canon that the freelancers’ and ais’ personalities started to bleed into each other. how much of that happened more and more with each fragment they added?

honestly whenever i start to praise you i have to stop and wonder if you don’t already know what i’m about to say bc you’ve heard it before.

i think it’s pretty safe to say that you’re a dash staple for most people at this point, regardless of your current blog or inclination. granted, of all the times i’ve been fortunate enough to call you a mutual, we’ve been in the same rp circle, but just seeing the way your charm ( lov thos good ambiguous words, right ) draws people from way across the fandom aisles, i don’t feel like i’m particularly wrong in understanding that you’re Pretty Okay, I Guess.

tbh i adored your squall ( and squall, admittedly, wasn’t a character i was always keen on ) but, now, a few months into watching your ignis shine, i’m really glad you decided to pick him up. you do him such justice that there’s never a moment where i’m not nodding along like yeah, that sounds about right or where i can’t hear ignis’s voice in your dialogue ( — as you’re already aware, duh, but i feel like it needs repeating, because ignis is a really daunting character to write, what with his wit and refinement but also his doggedness and the gentle side of that as well; my hat’s off to anyone who decides to tackle him and can pull it off to clear success ).

of course, you come across sharp enough that, lbr, you could probably work wonders with any character. ( lucky for me that you selected ignis though bc it gives me a decent excuse to pick your brain when i’ve got questions. & yanno. thanks for indulging me too Maybe. or is that enabling? )

hell, even if the characterization weren’t there, for whatever impossible reason, you could float the blog just by the strength of your writing alone. i don’t know how many times i’ve reread your response to that One Scar Meme, but initial few go-overs certainly set a precedent for me re: your replies — the first read is for the experience, the second asks why was this as good as it was, and the third is technical ( what can i say i like fresh syntax ). it’s how i approach most of my favorite writers. there’s just so much Substance to your content, my hands get a bit grubby.

plus idk i guess you’re funny ooc or something? i might Laugh sometimes? jury’s out on that still though

now, i won’t get terribly wordy here, because (edited.) i know that you know how i feel about you, the writing, the portrayal, etc. and i don’t want to detract from your sentiment with my own, although i did make promise to embarrass you in some way over this (i.e. by publishing it.) .. and whether or not you find it embarrassing, i’m simply – appreciative – that you took the time to write up something such as this at all. i don’t want to say that it means a lot coming from you, but here we are, because it was unexpected as well as encouraging. i’ve held on to these words for a good while now, reading over it at least half a dozen times while trying to figure out just exactly what i want to say that would be even remotely poignant in return (because when has a simple ‘thank you’ ever seemed like enough?)

honestly, that’s what makes this easier, because while compliments can be a dime a dozen, you carry yourself in such a way that is magnetic. it’s not so much ‘complimenting’ as it is stating facts. 

so allow me to state facts. but only a few, or this will be longer than i intend it to be.

it’s easy to count you among dashboard essentials, which you’ll not hear from me alone. based on the more in-depth i’ve seen in the duration of this muse, i also count you among top five that i earnestly, really respect in terms of writers that i’ve met on tumblr. you set quite the high bar yourself, without the weight of expectation. the depth of your insight alone is incredible,but the way you phrase your thoughts allows for greater understanding in broad, beautiful strokes. you really tend to fill in those unfinished gaps that i’ve lamented the game not providing. i’m certain that we only see the tip of that iceberg and god only knows what lays beneath. while noctis is at the center, this extends beyond him to the general cast. 

& regardless of who is indulging who, the back and forth of our musings is a pleasure. you engage, while willing to be engaged, and it’s always fascinating to see your approach. in that respect, i suppose we can conclude that you’re Pretty Okay, too.

so maybe you are a fucking delight --  unfortunately (for you) you’ll never it from me ( unless it’s in reference to me. )
