i find it an interesting detail that this is where the thumbnail comes from, specifically the frame where he says "demonized" (from the titular song)

now i've only watched npmd once so idk if there's any like. subtext as to if max was a typical bully in how if he bullied others due to his own background or insecurities or if he was just genuinely just a terrible person, but it seems interesting that starkid chose this specific frame to go on the thumbnail (i get it he does look frightening and cool at once and it conveys the vibe of the musical)

i mean it's obvious that he's a completely deranged person (i think especially after coming back from the dead) but yeah, what i thought was interesting, was that by starkid choosing this specific frame, they're also immediately demonizing him to anyone that stumbles upon the musical, even before starting it so!!!

so many people just hear "dick was a cop" and go "eww im gonna pretend i didnt see that" and like. if its just bc you cant handle the subject matter thats one thing, but often times its just. performative. especially because the actually storyline is so much about dick trying (and as far as ive gotten to reading so far, failing) to make a change in the system and be a "good cop". it's an extremely heavy but genuinely very interesting storyline. dick does find other "good cops", but they're very much the minority and usually keep their heads down, because cops are bastards and will ruin the lives of "fellow officers" who try and do things right. they try to frame dick for murder at one point and everything.

#its such a long and significant thing that happened and im like. youre explicitly mentioning it just to say you're ignoring it? alright.#sure. so proud of you. im sure that makes a huge difference in the world. very cool.#not trying to shade at any one person but ive just seen that attitude from people have definitely never read nw96 lol #at most they read 93 so they can bitch about how 'terrible' they think it is and use it as an excuse to wish terrible things #onto like. one of Very Few women who were in the comic book industry at the time #but im sure theres nothing internalized going on there. sure its just coincidence that they never bitch about male authors #using the excuse of social justice #love me some social justice but fuckin hate people who try to do it in fictional space instead of like. reality #literally helping no one by harassing Problematic Woman Author #dont even wanna name her bc her haters are some of the worst people ive ever seen on the internet lol #ANYWAYS. im done ranting #woke up at 03:30 and chose violence i guess

I'm very weary of narratives and dynamics that paint people of color as like bullies, or intolerant/bigoted, or anything of the sort against white characters cause it's not that we're infallible either within specific communities or as a collective but like...idk like I feel like we're usually in these roles more often than not (its ESP Black women and girls, and Dark skin women and girls even moreso) like, esp when shows tout themselves as progressive cause knowing how Fandoms roll esp in regards to bleeding into actors off screen I just know there are people like going the hell in, because even when they're not bad people at all or just like a fleshed out human beings let them do one thing wrong, or do something fans don't like, people never shut the fuck up about it (look at Meredith and Amelia from Grey's vs Maggie and Bailey, esp in like the second half of the Grey's run) meanwhile white characters can never do anything wrong ever even when they're very much in the wrong which hmmm does that not also sound like real life?

#tbh this is about a lot of shows but I keep seeing clips of that show heartbreak high #and it's this lesbian couple I think and one is white and autistic and the other one is Asian #and I always see clips of the asian girl being very like abelist and mean and people talking about her #which she seems to always be ragging on her gf one way or another which obviously no one should be doing that #but again there's always an implication that we as woc are always the aggressor or mean #and it's like why did you make that choice #of you've actually seen it tell me if I'm wrong #but it's like I kind of can't unsee this dynamic it happens a lot in television and film #it's like when people wanna do this Black people vs LGBT ppl very much ignoring all the people with both identities #but also acting as if Black people are just so intolerant that we don't know any better or could even be supportive if not a part of #these groups #I'm sure this applies to other groups too I'm just speaking on my own experiences at this second #idk if I'm making sense it's like 3 am #random

a lot of people put emphasis on Tails moving out as character development when Sonic and Tails grow up, and while i think Tails going off on his own adventures is the obvious next step for him, i dont think the two would ever really live seperately. maybe the times when theyre both home at the same time become less and less, maybe they both get busier, but it's nice for the both of them to come home to a brother and a warm house. i think they have separation anxiety

#unbreakable bond #not sure why sonic fandom has a LOT of people making content of the cast growing/grown up-- more than ive seen with other fandoms #not my personal cup of tea but i see why its appealing #idk i just dont think that Tails or Sonic would really ever wanna live serparately #Sonic doesnt technically LIVE anywhere by choice but he does share the home with Tails most often #anyways thats my thoughts idk if this all makes sense im a little sick rn

google fucking sucks. ive been playing rain code and one of the characters is described as "androgynous" and is never referred to as a man or a woman with characters being unsure of what they are. i was curious if this would b an actual nonbinary character so i googled it and if u search "(character's name) gender" it just links directly to a chud on twitter saying "she looks and acts like a girl so shes a girl. they made her nonbinary to be woke."

and that is just put at the top in big text despite being a random tweet from some nobody. anyway theyre also a very fun character and from other stuff i saw looking into this i can at the very least confirm they arent going to b a transphobic joke character so im excited to see more of them
