The amount of squidsonas and foursonas in splatoon 3 right at this moment is probably a dangerous and lethal level and needs to be dealt with by the secret militia

sean diaz + daniel diaz modern hcs
Tumblr media
i kind of forgot this was exclusively modern at the end just ignore that LMFAO
Tumblr media
- sean has no social media presence whatsoever
- a lot of people from school follow him but he only follows lyla and his track team back 😭 popular loner energy 🥀🐺
- i feel like if sean went to hs now hed be sm more popular esp w girls but hes rlly humble so he doesnt see it at all
- hes stupid and just thinks theyre being nice
- it gets on lylas nerves bc he refuses to believe anybody wants him 😭
- all his stories are like fireworks he posted when he was thirteen that he never bothered to delete
- its titled Highlights bc he doesnt know how to make an aesthetic instagram
- if anything, if he posts now its skate videos, drawings, or funny pics of daniel
- sean def takes 0.5x photos of daniel where his eyes go two diff directions and threatens to send them to lyla whenever he starts acting up
- daniel always throws a tantrum and esteban gets mad and tells sean to delete the pics (he doesnt)
- speaking of daniel he def got wayyy into skibidi toilet
- daniel tries to explain skibidi toilet n sean just tunes him out and says “uh huh” every so often
- hes those impressionable kids that gets into literally anything on the internet. among us, squid games, ROBLOX FOR SURE. sticky ipad baby energy overall!
- sean plays roblox with daniel on very rare occasions. i can imagine daniels avatar is decked out with limited items and sean is a bacon haired woman 😭
- daniel has definitely swiped estebans card a couple times under his nose for his robux…
- daniel purposely chooses games hes good at to watch sean struggle and die over and over again
- daniel watches weird kid youtube videos like… among us 24 hour challenge with spiderman and elsa giving birth kind of videos. sean gets really pissed off partly bc theyre rotting daniels brain and partly bc daniel always put it at max volume in the living room
- once sean gets paid he always goes thrifting. he fs goes to the bins and finds dirty dookie drawls every weekend 😭 but its worth it bc he finds cool shit
- as a skater boy i feel its obligatory for him to wear those afflication types of clothing as well as ironic graphic tees
- sean def wears baggy jeans in 2023 🙅‍♀️ none of that straight leg jeans from the game!!
- he also probably loves those ironic wolf shirts w the galaxy print n thinks theyre so funny
- sean also buys clothes in his style for daniel from the thrift n records 360s of daniel in his skater outfits
- “can i go play roblox now?” “no u have to cover ur nose when u turn around”
- got a buzzcut and surprisingly it looked really good
- esteban, daniel, lyla, and practically everyone else in his life kept making fun of him for being bald and would rub his head like a genie bottle tho
- daniels go-to is “well- well at least i don’t look like… look like caillou!” bc i imagine he tries to make funny comebacks but always stutters in the middle 😭😭
- eventually grew it back out bc he got annoyed at everyone making fun of him. they dont see his blond album cover early 2000s vision 💔
- daniel has no room to talk bc sooner or later he goes to the barber and gets a fucked edgar bowlcut
- sean laughs until he can barely breathe 😭 when lyla sees she TRIES to cheer him up about it but its too late
- even esteban laughs a little but only when daniel cant see bc he knows how much itd hurt him
- back to the blond album cover… sean LOVES music. his playlists are hours long
- i feel like he indulges in a super LARGE range of music likeee from bad bunny to deftones to pinkpantheress
- everybody hates it when he has aux and boos him off
- when esteban orders mexican food, sean and daniel both get horchata. sean dgaf if hes grown he still loves it!!
- i imagine esteban slowly stopped enforcing mexican food and culture overtime. bc of this, daniel knows barely any spanish and has 0 spice tolerance. sean always makes fun of him bc he goes gets water after a couple hot cheetos
- daniel tries to recreate those videos of people eating carolina reapers in hot sauce to prove a point and almost dies
- sean absolutely LOVES halloween. horror movies, costumes, the weather, everything abt it
- a part of him always gets jealous of daniel bc hes no longer considered trick or treating age anymore
- lowkey hed be willing to pull up in a full body costume just so he can trick or treat again
- when watching horror movies, sean will get way too immersed and start judging the people in the movies 😭
- daniels not allowed to watch but he peaks around the corner when estebans not watching
- “why the fuck is she just standing there? RUN! WHAT THE FUCK DUDE?!”
- “language mijo”
- he acts like he cld fight off the killer and explains his mastermind plan during the movie
- he doesnt admit it but he gets jumpy after a horror movie 😭 esteban and daniel take advantage of this every single time
- sean daniel and esteban are a tight knit family REGARDLESS of sean’s moodiness and daniel’s annoying gen alpha brainrot theyre so 😢
Tumblr media
yes im aware that 2016 wasnt tjat long ago but i dont want to imagine sean diaz enjoying dank memes and saying boi 💔

do you have any tips about coming up with "fantasy disorders," or disorders for fictional species that affect parts of their biology we don't have?
in my case, i have some original characters based on the splatoon games - where the main species are squids and octopi that have evolved to be very similar to humans. some of the major things that set them apart from humans are their ability to produce ink and the ability to switch between their humanoid forms and a smaller, stealthier "squid/octopus form" at will. i was thinking of giving one of my main characters a disability that affects these unique features (and ofc side characters and a lot of other characters in the world would have these kinds of disabilities too), ex. some kind of ink deficiency or ink over-efficiency, or a disability that can sometimes prevent the character from changing between their two forms.
do you have any tips on how to get started researching for this kind of thing? obviously it wouldn't be a good idea to just make up a disability from nothing, but i'm not even sure where to begin, considering nothing like this exists in real life.
sorry if this is a really out-there question!!
Thank you for your ask!
For the ink disability, you should think of what the ink is used for. Is it purely defensive? Does it aid with switching forms? Does it have any other role within the body or culturally? In real life mucus production is tied to ink production in squids, and while humans do make mucus you can also decide if a squidKid would have mucus act similarly to another bodily fluid. In marine animals mucus is used to gather food and lubricate the body, among other things, so something similar in humans might be sweat, saliva, tear glands or other water production. Real life examples of these glands being over/under active exist, so I’d look into those! You don’t have to copy them, but it’s a great place to start.
For the changing form disability, you need to decide why they can’t shift forms. Is it due to stiffness or paralysis? Are they too exhausted or weak? Is changing too painful or tiering to do for them? Is it because of an issue with their ink production (I haven’t played splatoon myself but I believe those are tied in game)? And if they’re unable to transform, does that affect their transportation (not sure if the ink transportation is just in battle or also used day to day, sorry). Once you decide what makes shifting form difficult then you can research similar issues in the real world.
Basically decide how it affects them, where it affects them, what is the closest real life equivalent, and research from there.
Have a nice day!

What if squid game was made into a reality dating show?
In an alternate world where a pandemic targeted only men, now the male population in the entire nation is just 381 surviving males who are sheltered in The Farm. Women have to enter the show in order to get married to a man.
It is an absolute riot to watch, balanced in plot, comedy and emotional scenes. Did I mention that there is an entire episode which is basically Among Us?
The cast is led by Belle Kemisara and Blue Pongtiwat. There's familiar faces including Man Trisanu(Step by Step), Lily Nichapalak(The Gifted), Kun Kunchanuj(Last Twilight).
I just finished bingeing the show and I need another season already. The show deals with complex themes in a mature manner and felt like a social commentary without being too in the face.

no FUCKING WAY is The Amazing Digital Circus getting the Squid Game Wednesday Addams Among Us Huggy Wuggy treatment
for those of you who’ve never seen this kind of thing before, for some reason in Slavic countries like Ukraine and Russia, they put on live shows for children featuring characters from popular media, whether or not that media was ever meant for children. the shows have nothing to do with the media, and from what i can tell don’t even have a plot. it’s just a money ploy by having as many recognizable characters as possible in one place dance together and kids eat it up. it’s also generally only the shows that have been picked up by youtube content farms that get this treatment, so the kids have no idea what the characters are originally from.
btw here’s what i’m talking about in the first bit:

Side Order Spoilers!!!
Okay does anyone else find it weird that Smollusk and Pearl referred to both DJ Octavio and Agent 4 as "big shots"?
And that Pearl says Agent 4 "was supposed to be such a big shot"??
And that even though pieces of their souls got sucked into the Memverse they canonically have not been seen after the events of Splatoon 2 and 3 respectively???
Knowing that characters were added to Tableturf after the DLC, namely, Pearl, Marina and Acht, I wouldn't be surprised if more characters are added later.
"But Octo, didn't Nintendo say there would only be two waves of DLC?"
Well, yes...but I have reason to believe otherwise.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
First, when announcing the two waves of DLC, yellow and blue were used for the first and second waves, but despite there being four colors used for the announcement, red and green made no further appearance.
I'm sure if Nintendo really wanted to, they could have found a way to make just the yellow and blue look nice, but they specifically added those two colors. Red, I get, that's Big Man's color, even if they don't use it much in promotional material, but GREEN?
If Nintendo were to make more DLC, three waves WOULD make sense, considering the leitmotif of threes throughout the game. It's the third game, there's 3 idols, 3 forces united as one, 3 Splatfest teams to choose from, etc.
But that still doesn't explain the fourth color. It breaks the pattern of threes and uses a color that is barely anywhere among our cast of characters, besides Marie, DJ Octavio, and maybe Callie.
And then I thought...what if it's to give us a taste of the next game? Next IS Splatoon 4, so I wouldn't put it past them for a sneak peek.
My other, and more likely idea was that it would center around Agent 4, which kind of ties in with the weird wording used for both Octavio and them. Perhaps we'll finally get to see what they've been up to, maybe even teaming up with a certain DJ?
As for the third wave...I'm not too sure. I think it might have to do with Lil' Judd and Marigold, though.
As we collect scrolls in Alterna, we get tidbits of the other characters' lives and some info on the Splatoon world itself.
But something that stood out to me is when we get to Pearl and Marina's scroll.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's their outfits from the DLC, clearly meant to foreshadow their next appearance. And right before that was a scroll for the Squid Sister's podcast (and that dried up squid), which lines up since their hub world was brought to the game in the first wave of DLC.
But after Pearl and Marina, it's Lil' Judd.
Tumblr media
Lil' Judd planning for Judd's demise.
Which has not been brought up seriously in the main game.
That...that means nothing, right? I mean, more DLC hasn't even been announced, ha-ha!!
Tumblr media
But then the next page is Marigold, with her many pictures crossed out, with multiple names to the same-ish face. It's secretive; does she have various clones, multiple siblings? What is she?
And then, there's also the concerning connection between her and Lil' Judd.
Marigold works at Grizzco, evidenced by her voice at the counter and her vocabulary. Lil' Judd...is in CHARGE of Grizzco now, majorly implied by the new inclusion of a headpiece on him after you finish fighting Mr. Grizz.
I think the third wave of DLC will be focusing on Lil' Judd's plans to get rid of Judd and will involve a further look into Marigold and how Grizzco operates.
I mean, we can't keep stealing Salmonid eggs forever, can we? Eventually they'll run out. This endless back and forth has resulted in Big Run's happening, so it's not out of the question that we get a resolution to this.
(I personally think Big Run will have its own version of an ending, one where whenever you play Salmon Run after it it's "in the past," so that it doesn't affect whatever the conclusion was. Otherwise, the Big Runs would likely just get worse.)
Maybe we'll get to be Neo 3 this time and learn more Salmonid lore with our Smallfry friend!!
Of course, most of these concepts are speculation, but I do want to show off one last piece of evidence that I think can be rather damning.
The roped off barrier by the Metro. (Sorry I don't have an image of it, and I don't want to use anyone else's footage.)
Only removed once the DLC trailer was shown.
Tumblr media
And look what we have here, as far back as the original Splatoon 3 Direct...
Tumblr media
Another roped off barrier in front of the arch. Not just construction, like how Splatoon always sets up new places for the next game, no. It's a barrier, with a big empty space behind it.
I always thought it was so weird we weren't allowed to go over there, and now it seems so obvious to me what Splatoon has been implying.
I don't want to get my hopes up, or anyone else's, but I'm finding it exceedingly difficult to just move past these details and pretend like they're nothing.
What about you guys? Do you also think all of this is mighty suspicious? Do you have any theories regarding more waves of DLC, and what they could possibly be? Oh, and if you have more evidence for there being four waves, please feel free to tell me in the comments or through message. (I might not see the messages, though, because mine haven't been working that well, so mostly stick to comments and reblogs.)
Lastly, I did want to ask if anyone knows what the European version of the shop for the DLC means by “It’s possible that additional DLC, not listed above will also be distributed with the Expansion Pass.” I saw somebody mention it, I don't remember what post, but I was wondering if that was just a standard description for the European page or if it was just for this DLC. I'm in the US, and mine doesn't say that. If I'm completely wrong about this fact please tell me,,,
That's all I got though!! So, buh-bye!!!!

Congrats on finding your white whale. I'm excited to see what comes next from either sharing, or keeping it to yourself.
This fic is definitely one of those pillar fics that created this reaction that we can still see the repercussions of today. And the negative attention the author received in wake of the fic was not something that they deserved. I must admit I am curious to see what that fic actually holds because I stayed away from that side of the mcyt fandom at the time because of personal reasons
Whatever decision is made with the fate of the fic, I will fully understand and support it. Knowing that the fic still exists in its entirety is enough for me.
But also. Were you around at the time of the fics original publication? And how much did the reactions to this fic actually set a tone for the rest of the fandoms interactions with content creators?
I was not! I was a lurker - for personal reasons I was inactive on social media from around 2017 to 2020, if I'm remembering correctly. However, I have done an absurd amount of research into MCYT fandom history to the point of digging through thousands of old SMPtwt tweets, since I'm very autistic about SMPLive and MCYT as a whole.
SMPRonpa directly led to the creation of the blog smp-boundaries, as it was singled out and used as an example of inappropriate fan content by CallMeCarson in his stream "Let's address fan culture", which was the reason the blog was made. Said blog would continue to be updated into the early Dream SMP period and is still cited today despite being filled with misinformation. SMPRonpa is frequently referenced as an example of "what not to do" by other fans - I remember Among Us and Squid Game AUs being heavily criticized with this "remember SMPRonpa" narrative.
Creators didn't really care about it besides Carson, and plenty of them were openly positive towards it! SMPtwt also for the most part loved it, while SMPblr considered it gross and inappropriate. Because of how Carson talked about the fic, people now have the incorrect belief that a majority of creators involved were super uncomfortable with it - when that isn't the case at all - you had them actively replying to the creator and discussing the fic with fans, cracking jokes about their in-fic deaths and kills, it even ended up with Poke playing Danganronpa which you can still watch on his channel!
It's a very odd piece of fandom history to me that goes to show the damage you can do to your community by interfering with and publicly shaming fan content you don't like. I feel like the community around SMPLive seemed way more friendly with their creators before the stream, and it never really was the same after that, unfortunately.
You also have to think about Carson being later stated to be manipulative and at times downright abusive to his friends, especially the three he lived with in 2019-2020 (Noah, Cooper, and Travis - Noah's talked about it in length in an interview that's up on YouTube somewhere) - I feel like this is an important detail to consider given how his concerns were made into "all of our concerns" in the stream. Creators besides Carson were largely uncomfortable moreso by the stan culture surrounding them rather than any individual fan works, at least from everything I've publicly seen.

Slig
Tumblr media
Concept art by Steven Olds, © Oddworld Inhabitants. Accessed at the Oddworld Wiki here
[Sponsored by @martyslittleusedblog. They're been trying to get me interested in monsters from platforming games for a while, and this is what hooked me. Partially because I remember Oddworld and Abe's Odyssee for the PS1. My cousin was the one with the Playstation, and he didn't like the game, but I remember poring over the manual and delighting in the concepts and the art. A dystopian game where a low level employee at a meat packing plant fights a corporate empire and becomes a reluctant Chosen One? Yes please!
The sligs are the main grunt force of said corporate empire, the Magog Cartel. Imagine if koopas carried shotguns. Apparently a slig slave revolt is a plot point in one of the later games. Good for them. If you're super worried about game balance, this is another monster, like the watchuka, that has a lot of treasure for its CR because guns and other ranged weapons are very expensive in Pathfinder 1e.]
Slig CR 4 NE Aberration This green skinned creature has a squid-like head with five finger-like feelers surrounding its mouth. It has large muscular arms and metal legs. It wears a set of red-tinted goggles and carries a large gun.
Sligs are eusocial mollusk-like creatures native to the swamps of the planet Mudos. They are most commonly found elsewhere as grunts, soldiers and assassins, as their queens have gladly sold the entire species to the Magog Cartel, a massive industrial empire. In exchange for unquestioning service, the Cartel provides sligs with greater mobility. A slig is born with strong forelimbs and stunted hind limbs, perfectly serviceable for pulling themselves between bodies of water, but good for little else. A slig in slig pants, however, can walk, jump and use its arms for carrying weapons; typically guns. Sligs love guns. Most sligs also wear goggles on a regular basis, both to protect their eyes (they are naturally nocturnal and live in foggy swamps) and because higher ups in the Magog Cartel find their beady eyes aesthetically displeasing.
Few sligs are very bright, but most of them are very cruel. Unlike many other eusocial sapient species but more similar to bumblebees and paper wasps, there is frequent infighting among sligs as they jockey for rank. The Cartel has managed to channel that into organized contests like kill counts, employee of the month bonuses and frequent games. Another privilege is the use of names—all sligs have a name, but using it publicly instead of a number and rank has to be earned by service to the Cartel. Sligs off duty are often found playing card games or sports, and those not playing are usually betting their spare income on such matches.
A slig stands about five feet tall. They are short lived, and considered adults by 2 years and ancient by 20.
Variant Sligs Sligs are naturally morphologically plastic, as they respond quickly to changes in hormone levels. In addition, different sligs may have different abilities due to different equipment and cybernetics bestowed on them by the Magog Cartel.  For example, Big Bro sligs are Large sligs who have to be equipped with special four-legged slig pants to support their weight, and are often given automatic weapons. Some sligs are given flying harnesses instead of pants—they have a fly speed of 40 feet (perfect), but no land speed. Other sligs, especially with class levels, may be equipped with heavier armor, flamethrowers, or rocket launchers.
Slig          CR 4 XP 1,200 NE Medium aberration (aquatic) Init +2; Senses darkvision 60 ft., Perception +6 Defense AC 17, touch 12, flat-footed 15(+2 Dex, +3 natural, +2 armor) hp 47 (5d8+25) Fort +5, Ref +3, Will +4 Weakness light blindness Offense Speed 30 ft., swim 20 ft. These pants grant the slig a 30 foot land speed, a +2 armor bonus to AC (that doesn’t stack with worn armor) and a +4 racial bonus to Acrobatics checks. A slig without its pants on has a land speed of only 5 feet, and cannot use manufactured weapons as it needs its hands to move. A slig without pants is a CR 3 creature. A slig’s pants are destroyed when the creature is slain (and cannot be worn by anything besides a slig regardless). Uplifted (Ex) A slig gains Exotic Weapon Proficiency (firearms) and Gunsmithing as bonus feats.

Sure, the byler tag having 33(6?)k followers is amazing, specially compared to the milkyway tag. But the wiews on TikTok are what's really CRAZY to me and I feel like we don't talk about it enough.
Some time ago I saw one account post the most followed ships on TikTok, and byler was like 3rd overall. That's insane actually, being third on the most used platform in the whole world. And also, it is proof that byler is also well liked even outside of fandom spaces. Why? Because #byler TikTok wiews astronomically ascended between may-september 2022. During the months the stranger things hype was going on, the months where everyone, even general audience, talked about it, posted about it and got videos about in in their fyp. During that period, the most out of those people spent more time on the byler tag than on any other ship tag. Even on the Melvin tag. Melvins claim that the general audience loves malooban, but nowadays you measure what the general audience likes precisely by how it does on TikTok (the most popular shows of the last few years, like Squid Game, Euphoria, Wednesday, TLOA... all of them blew up there). And byler blew up on TikTok, even among the ga. More than Melvin. Let that sink in.

some quick'n'dirty thoughts on the new Codex entries:
[wild speculation] it feels like the Grand Necropolis is a game location we will visit (it also comes up quite a bit in the wider blogpost). and/or we'll have a Mortalitasi companion
I'd guess that the writer of this codex, and their friend that teases them, are the two characters that feature in the short story from Dragon Age Day last year, The Flame Eternal. Emmrich referring to Johanna? (Or just emmrich and someone else.. wouldn't really make sense for a nevarran to tease their nevarran friend about their own practises, on reflection). both that short and this new codex are by Sylvia, and the shade of cyan used to obscure the diary owner's name is similar to the cyan in the short story art. saying that, it's the same cyan as Skeleton Boi has, and seems to sometimes indicate necromancy & related magic generally speaking
I could've missed em, but I had a lil look and couldn't find the referenced writings of Genetivi's here or in the WoTs, so they must be among his many in-world writings that we the players haven't seen (it'd be so good to sit in an an in-world library and read and read and read..!!! literally the dream.). but if I missed them pls lmk :D
Vinsomer. the Last Court/Serault enthusiast in me wonders if the lecturer giving the talk on Vinsomer is Frederic of Serault, Professor of Draconology from the University of Orlais. Vinsomer can swim! makes sense, we meet one in DA:I on the Storm Coast and the lore says they prefer rocky coasts.
Thedas has orcas confirmed~ when an animal is dark dorsally and light ventrally, it's called countershading. it's a method of camouflage. in orcas this helps hide them from their prey. there's a squidlike creature on this version of the map, and the "big worms that burrow near the shore" remind me of thresher maws from ME. Thedas has giant bobbit worm type things on the beaches?? 😭 electric eels stun their prey by generating electricity, and it makes sense that a big creature that hunts in the sea would have a beak-like mouth like squid do. the biologist in me is pleased by these references and the thought that clearly went into this codex :D
what's attacking Vinsomer/her lair/her young and why is it a mystery? it's probably because I was thinking about the red lyrium skeleton guys again today just before the community update post came out (literally ten-fifteen mins or so before the blogpost aaaa), but the new Vinsomer codex reminds me of this excerpt [bottom one] for some reason: "From eyewitness reports, the adult dragons never ventured close to where the red lyrium grows, even though they could easily have done so. I can only conclude that the creatures instinctively understand that red lyrium poses a threat."
skskshfuehufh the double entendres in the Randy Dowager codex. Genetivi you rogue
and more generally speaking, this part of the blogpost:
The Hero of Ferelden. The Champion of Kirkwall. The Herald of Andraste. Each of them marked their legacy in the annals of history, but time marches forward and the age of these heroes cannot last forever. As a friend of ours once said, “it’s time for a new hero."
has me wondering for the 89898th time what the DA4 PC's title will be if any. the what of what??? :D I'm dyin. I wonder if time marching forward ties to the implied timeskip to 9:52, and it's exciting to know that there will be other upcoming community updates like this, with the next one being focused on Design. hope the next one contains some new Codex entries too! 👁

the information these anons are referencing comes from a dev interview from 2018, aka its basically word of god, not from an in-universe source. "When Salmonids are willing to fight to the death, they feel a sense of unity with themselves and the world, and their spirits are lifted. Being eaten by other creatures makes them one with the world, and fighting for their clan's pride is something that’s equally precious in their sense of values." that's a direct quote from the director of both splatoon and splatoon 2, yusuke amano. if you'd like a direct source for the interview, you can find a translation of it in the linked sources on the page for salmonids on the splatoon wiki. should be the 6th one down.
Discussion questions:
1. calling information "word of god" does not make it accessable to characters within the universe. There is still the question of "do they know this?" "how much of this do they know?" "who is telling them this and does this person have ulterior motives in presenting this information?"
2. The game makes you the bad guy on purpose. Especially proceeding Octo Expansion, you are literally playing as the oppressor race that came out on top of a race war.
Octolings are treated as evil and gross by hero characters in the game in different story mode adventures. They're the bad guys. Even now, integrated among the inklings, octolings are still "othered" in tiny ways. Inkfish sybolism is squid shaped by default, rather than octolings. Phones, chargers, badges, stickers, logos, inklings are "default" and octolings are the "other".
Racism and classicism are huge themes in the game and the game isnt afraid to surround you with characters who uphold these divides and make you say for yourself "this is weird. this is wrong."
The ongoing racism against Octolings isn't brought up directly, but you see it, right?
So. Salmonids. They're the bad guys, right? They attack the city sometimes, even though we, gracious inkfish, help them fulfil their death rituals, and for that they must be kept at bay.
Its good for us too! We make money, we save the city, we get food. No idea what our boss is doing with the eggs we collect but its no matter! Its part of nature! The Salmonids like it! Why, it's even in the art book!
.
I get it. It's a kids game. You play salmon run for the first time and youre like "whoa! this is shady! this is weird! is this allowed?" but like it's a kids game. They wouldn't let you play "innocent blood on your hands" for money and funny hats, right?
but they do. its a running theme.
of course they have an in-universe explanation for why its okay. They're deceiving you on purpose. They're trying to make you think. They've spelled out so obviously that this is wrong but they havent said it outright and it seems like to so many people that just means it isnt wrong at all.
Turns out eating people is bad. I, like this funny squid game for kids, have tried to say my point every way except to tell you directly, and like the game, you're comforted by someone, anyone, telling you its fine.
Eating people is bad! The treatment of Octolings in the games are bad! The classist and consumerist society the inkfish have built is bad! And thats fine! It's a fun world to explore, horrible roots and all.
But yeah. Back to the same thing I've been repeating 5 asks in a row.
3. Say all that you said is true and universally understood in universe, does that make eating salmonids okay?
Answer: No. It doesn't.

I haven't played BG3, I don't have the hardware to do so but the other day i said "if Finch was a companion option I'd be buying a ps5" so: General: 7, and Romance: 5?
LOL oh that's high praise tbh. if only i modded... anyway sorry this quest question got away from me oops
7. GENERAL: Do they have their own personal quest that spans the course of the game? Can it take different branching paths depending on the choices the Player Character makes?
Finch's quest revolves around his oath because I feel like if you're going to have a paladin in your party that's like. Their thing. Upon meeting him, he is very standoffish and curt to the MC, focused on the task of destroying the Absolute and ONLY destroying the Absolute. Getting the tadpoles out is even secondary to cutting the head off the snake. Or squid, in this case. It's discovered fairly early on that this is a farce that can't hold up in proximity of the MC and other companions. Friendship cracks his shell quickly, although he continues to be ruthless against evil.
[The Vengeance tenet of 'No Mercy For The Wicked' includes the MC if they make too many evil choices before convincing him to break his oath. The DC to persuade him their actions are justified gets higher each time until they fail. That triggers a special cutscene on next long rest where he knocks the character out of their bed and tells them his time with them ends here, one way or another, and a 1v1 combat starts. There is no way to talk him down at this point, they will have to kill him.]
As his approval is gained, he'll state that he's looking for a deserter to his order, a werewolf named Vito who joined around the same time as him to right the wrongs he inflicted under the curse of lycanthropy. The last time Finch saw him, Vito had almost ripped his arm off before fleeing in lycan form. He knows Vito has an older brother in Baldur's Gate and suspects if the man is alive and hiding anywhere, it is likely with the only person who ever defended his actions.
Vito's brother can be found on a shack of a farm outside Rivington and an insight check will let the MC know he knows where Vito is, prowling somewhere in the city. Possibly using the cultist murders as cover for himself or possibly just... trying to live a life that isn't beholden to an oath.
The MC will have to dig up information, and eventually find the man himself in the city proper, cured of lycanthropy and working among others who have no idea what he used to be. If Finch is in the party he will have the chance to confront a man he hasn't seen in 5 years, who betrayed and deserted their beliefs, and either bring him to what he perceives as justice or let him walk away and live the life Finch has hinted at wanting throughout the game. A life that allows oneself to rest.
Dialogue after this encounter can either drive Finch towards becoming an Oathbreaker or strengthen his belief in himself and his mission.
5. ROMANCE: Does the romance have different branching paths, or just one route to take?
His romance branches sharply depending on how you follow through with his personal quest.
If you convince him to become an Oathbreaker, he essentially becomes the MC's attack dog. They will replace his tenets as what he's aligns himself with and he'll expect to be there when scores need to be settled with blood. He treats them more like a lord/lady than a partner. He will tell them his name is Kyragon, and he's tried to cushion his true nature behind soft words and dull actions for too long. This is what he's supposed to be. There is the potential for brief dialogue of him sympathizing with the Bhaalists, agreeing with the 'how' but not the 'why'.
If he remains an oath-bound paladin, he is softer. Considerably so. The player will see less of the Paladin and more of the man behind the armor. Through this route, he learns that he can actually have both, that there is a medium between duty and happiness. There will always be another fight to fight but he has the option to enjoy the time in between. He jokes darkly that paladins of Tempus aren't known to live long... but he finds himself hoping that he makes it to an age where he can feel good about hanging up his weapon with the MC at his side.

How's about kallamar with a mimic squid reader that often comes to trade artifacts from before the old faith was around.
So I accidently make it written with the relics from the game and not artifacts. Opps 😅 Hope this is still good though!
Kallamar with a mimic squid reader that finds ancient relics.
He is intrigued! And a little scared to ask how you find all of these. You say that you work with Chemcah at times, and he was ok with the answer. He can’t imagine how someone can have a coherent conversation with that crazy lady but doesn’t question you further.
As you travel to trade, you often come to Anchordeep to show him what you have found. Your skin changes color depending on your mood, your environment among other factors. But right now, with Kallamar you are pretty much at your original skin color with silver specks going down your body in waves.
As he looks at the relics, he notes to you that some of your relics have the original sign of the first bishops on the island. You are in awe of the power that these relics can have, and how much you can trade them for!
Kallamar ends up trading your various rare treasures to get his hands on the relics. You are both very close, but he also feels like these relics should be in trained hands. (That being HIS hands lmfao.) He was a bit selfish about getting ahold on them so he can use them in battle, as he won’t let anyone but you touch them.
