south park is a land of cold, your parents moved here a few weeks ago, and now you have to go to a new school. the whole situation was quite blurry, you've always had memory issues so remembering stuff has always been a hard task for you. due to this, you don't remember exactly why your parents moved here, or your past school. you remember some of your friends of course, but nobody really liked you at your past school, so in the end you are bound to forget everyone at some point.
waking up is such a pain, you thought to yourself as your phone rang, signaling how it was the first day of school for you. you felt nervous, a new year's party must've been happening in your stomach, because you could not calm down no matter what. of course, you didn't show this in your face. it was neutral, as it normally was, emotions weren't your strong suit.
well, PHYSICAL emotions anyway, obviously you felt emotions, you aren't some kind of mysterious main character. at least, not in someone else's point of view. you stood up as your vision blurred and you fell, clearly meaning you had woken up a bit too fast. so now your head was spinning. ow, you complained in your thoughts.
you got back up, and went to your wardrobe. you could really care less for your sense of fashion so you put on the first thing you saw and left. you now opened the door and started to walk downstairs, cracking your neck as you saw your father, taking care of your little brother. "good morning [name]!" he said to you.
"hey dad, hey charlie" you waved to your brother and dad, starting to make your breakfast. "mom's at work, i guess?" you asked, he let out a muffled yes as he started to feed your brother once again. you sat down at the table, starting to eat as your dad complained because your brother threw up on him and laughed. you let out a small chuckle, and began eating again.
"cmon kiddo, this is the third time!" he rolled his eyes, exhausted as charlie just laughed at him. he went to go and clean his clothes and left charlie with you. charlie then out of nowhere, hugged you. "huh?" you were confused, and then charlie started to eat your food, you just sat there, watching your brother eat your food. "oh"
your dad entered the room, laughing at the site. "seems like the little guy wanted your food instead." he said, resting his arms on top of the chair you were sitting on. "im glad he's eating at least" he said, your brother now finishing your food, and then going to your dad, yelling "up! up!"
so, you just sat there, looking at the plate who was now clean. resisting the urge to throw your brother.
"hey buddy, your school bus is coming soon, right?" your father asked. you looked at your phone, "yeah, im gonna go now" you stood up from your chair, getting your bag which was on the couch and placing it on your back. "bye kiddo! have a good day!" he said as your brother yelled "bye bye" to you.
you unlocked the door, going outside and closing it, you stepped on the cold snow, your boots being there so you wouldnt feel it, the bus stop was a few inches from your house.
walking to it, you realized there was a blonde boy there who seemed to be your age, you COULD use this as an opportunity to make a friend. what should you do?

Below the cut is a long-drawn-out rant. I debated long and hard about doing this but I’m tired of keeping bottled up. So, I’m about to get messy as fuck and put all my business out there. Frankly at this point, I don’t even care. I tried to let it slide because I don’t like drama unless it’s in a sims story. However, at this point I have nothing to lose since apparently the people I once called friends stopped fucking with me anyway.
I don’t know what’s being said in the private chats and DM’s, but I notice some interesting behavior ever since @shanisims posted her “goodbye post”. I don’t normally do callout post or bring personal drama out into the open, but my intuition tells me some shit is being said about me that ain’t true. Shanisims befriended me and we began chatting in the DM’s, then on Discord. We shared story stuff, personal stuff, then we started collaborating together. We swapped sims. I did some builds for her, and we collaborated on each other’s stories. She engaged in my content and vice versa. Then one day she just stopped. Once I noticed I stopped engaging too. Then next thing I knew... I was blocked on all platforms. I have another blog I use for shitposting that I follow my favs from. I really enjoyed her story, so I quietly continued to read it from there. At some point she alludes to a “beef” when she brings my OC’s persona into her story. She mentions that Bishop looks different because of “reasons”. Then she does it again later on in the story when Bishop is featured. My question was why allude to anything? No one was asking unless you want them to ask. 👀🤨 It was passive aggressive, calculated and cunning. Mind you whatever offense that allegedly took place happened over a year ago.
So, I decided to ask her what her problem was. I sent her message from that account, and I said it was me. I didn’t pretend to be anonymous. I wanted to know what her beef was with me and if she has such an issue with me that she had to block me why continue to use my sims, my builds and my character’s persona? I told her I felt used. She goes out of her way to be extremely friendly and overly helpful online then for whatever reason she just turns on you.
In the past I’ve been told by her and a few others that I am not afraid of confrontation, and that I can come off very blunt and direct. I’m 49 years old I don’t have time for games, and I try very hard to make sure I’m understood online. However, I do think, re-read, and re-write my words many times before I hit send so that they aren’t misinterpreted online since my tone can’t be heard.
All I know is not too long after her goodbye post went up, mutuals I have had online friendships and history with stopped engaging with my post. Some even unfollowed me. I don’t know what she’s telling these people. When I confronted her, she never responded. Instead, she played victim and did a goodbye post. You would’ve thought I bullied her, pulled up to her house and was outside ready to fight or something. I’m also calling out some of my so called “mutuals” cough cough @storiesbyjes2g and @ladybugsimblr because in the year 2023 where online friendships are no longer considered a foreign concept, people like y’all will happily discard them instead of doing the hard work of confronting, communicating, accountability, honesty and resolving. Instead, you hid behind platitudes like “protecting my peace” or pretend to be cool just to go radio silent afterwards. But I’m just some random lady on the internet so, who gives a fuck right? This goes for anyone else that may have passed judgement on me regarding Shani without knowing all the facts. I still don’t even know what happened! Take away from this what you will but I wanted to put it out there because I’m hurt and felt like being a petty bitch. Now here is real drama you can “protect your peace” from.

Today I absolutley sucked. ✌️
Last night I could not sleep (common issue in my world, I know.) No matter what sleep aid I took, what I did, last night was a bad night for me, it was particularly awful because it was my management shift today. YIPEE... so I ended up FINALLY managing to get myself to sleep for a light nap, I got up at 6am, threw on my work clothes and while I was looking in my drawer for socks, I literally fell asleep The sims 4 style from exhaustion while trying to find the socks. Then slept through two alarms that I set for work and suddenly I opened my eyes and realised it was light outside and instantly knew I was late as fuck because it was 9am and I wasn't meant to be on the floor, I was meant to be at my desk about 30 minutes previous to that moment. So I jump up and like any normal person, naturally I scream "SHIT" and I ran, SOCKLESS BY THE WAY, I ran so fast from my house to work I got to the other part of town in less than seven minutes and now I have blisters from my vans. JOY...
I get to work and a customer is pulling up and hops out of his car, he's like "do you open later now?" And I'm like frantic and out of breath telling him "no. I slept in, ill tell you more when I can breathe again." Because I ran RELENTLESSLY to the point where I was coughing and coughing and I'm trying to call admin and I can't even speak to admin because I can't catch my breath, she's like "imma call you back", I'm trying to set everything up in the shop, the dude who caught me outside decided to help put things up on display (which I really REALLY fucking appreciated) and I eventually got the shop together and made myself a coffee. I then popped to to toilets and l caught a glimps of myself in the mirror AND FUCK ME, I looked like I had been on a week long bender! My hair was all over, bags under my eyes, pale (probably from the lack of oxygen in my body) I looked dishevelled and ridiculous! 😂
Luckily for me because of how open I have been with the admin and higher up colleagues about what is going on in my life I was instantly given a decision of "no further action" because as it was said on the phone, they are aware of how much I have going on at the moment and they think it's a wonder that I power on through and haven't taken time off, which I appreciate. I also spoke to admin about everything new going on and found myself laughing at points and it was weird but nice, because she was laughing with me and i said "sorry I know I shouldnt laugh but I do just find myself laughing at that now. Like it's really not funny HA!" and she said "Misty, that's trauma, you've had a lot of trauma lately, sometimes when we process that we find ourselves looking back and laughing." While also laughing with me and she's very right.
Towards the end of my shift I was 30 minutes late out because people wouldn't leave and then some random guy decided to walk into my life and put £57 worth of coins made up of various small change into one of the machines and then turn to me and say "well that's one way to get rid of my shrapnel!" And smile. LITERALLY. It made me wish there was shrapnel in my brain because he could of just brought me the money and I would have changed it for him and not had to count it at stupid o'clock and TO TOP IT OFF. I HAD TO COIN EVERY PENNY AND THE MONEY WAS FUUUUCKING STICKY!!!! 🤮🤮🤮 I was too exhausted and cranky to be dealing with sticky dirty money!
In all seriousness I am not surprised I was so tired that I just flopped because at the moment I find myself feeling like a forgotten part of society. As a mother I have been in many situations in my life, I have been the teenage mother, I have been the workaholic motherand I have been the judged tattooed mother but weirdly I find this most recent one the toughest, and I can respect the fact that I have clawed my way to making it to a place where some people who didn't have kids as a teen would struggle to get to but there is literally no fucking help for a 30 year old woman who owns her own house who's relationship ended. Right now I am on antidepressants, sleep aid, iron, folic acid beause of b12 anemia, I'm working my ass off, not using childcare so it doesn't gobble up my wage. The other parent moved 40 minutes away and the only help I am getting is from my parents, for a day and a night a week, I'm still hosting the sleepovers, I'm still playing the games, I'm still making ends meet and on top of all that I am fixing up this house! It's like when your kids are over the age of 5 years old you are just expected to juggle on a unicycle with flaming wheels and keep the shit show going and smile til you drop and I don't get it! We just have to get though it! It seems to me eveytime you find a helping hand you can't reach for it because it will risk fuck up something else and its not fair. Nobody wants to end up a single parent at 30 but it seems like as a woman of this age, in this position in society you are pushed to your limit and backed into a corner.
On a lighter note, I have 2 days holiday now and I am taking the kids to their first gig tomorrow with my best friend! I am going to let my hair down and embarrass the life out of my kids! 😁

Like it's not perfect, but it really revolutionized my gameplay.

I pay more attention to smaller things. I sometimes just let my sims do whatever and sip my tea. I don't try to make the play as "prefect" I make more sims who are unhappy/poor/unempoyed.

stupid ranting that doesnt mean anything under the cut but warning for heavy topics
im fine just having a bit of a moment
making eye contact with the dishes i forgot to do 2 days in a row and immediately having to go back through this long odyssean journey from the more painful parts of my childhood back into normalcy
i know recovery is messy i know you backslide i know its dumb to get mad at myself for letting the dishes go because i have audhd and it happens and its really not the biggest deal that i forgot to do dishes 2 days in a row so why am i even freaking out
which is normal with trauma recovery and yknow sometimes you dont even truly recover and its more about being able to find yourself back to solid ground
but it being normal doesnt make it any less stressful to walk into my own kitchen in my own house where i am safe and loved and then the alfred hitchcock zoom on the dishes while im transported back almost 13 years ago before i understood what negligence was and thought me nicking myself on shuriken and swords and not being able to make food was somehow my own dipshit fault just a skill issue
its too late to be clanking shit around right now and my cuticles are cracked to hell from my tablet pen so i have to push it off tomorrow again and thats the frustrating part is feeling guilty for forgetting it and then having to choose to not do it for even longer so its going to jumpscare me tomorrow too
anyway sorry i had like a sims moment breakdown where i just stood in the kitchen a while and wigged out so i typed it out and rationalized it and now it cant hurt me anymore amen

I could seriously talk about the sims community for ages it’s genuinely one of the most unique gaming communities I know of because it’s primarily not made up of what we’d consider gamers- a very large amount of the sims audience plays only sims, because the sims is honestly so unique as a series being essentially a virtual dollhouse that allows you to do literally anything it appeals to completely different people than a lot of other games. it’s also got a much higher amount of female players, older players, and queer players than any series I’ve seen.
they’re so outside the typical hardcore gamer idea that the world and the industry has, but they’re also insanely dedicated. there’s coders basically making whole new games in it, content creators making gorgeous custom content that sets computers on fire, people using it to tell beautiful stories, people who make unique challenges, the community is endless in its dedication and sharing that with others. having thousands of hours in these games isn’t abnormal. you can find the most absurdly obscure trivia about these games incredibly easily because it’s all documented so well.
there’s also this insane level of dedication? like, spending hundreds of pounds to get every single expansion pack is normal. getting all the stuff packs isn’t something everyone does, but a lot of people do it. i’ve never seen a community so eager to spend hundreds on dlc before, and that’s because, at least in the past, it was legitimately worth the price. sims 1, 2, and 3 complete are masterpieces, especially with mods, and sims 4 has… issues (which I’m pretty sure are 100% execs faults, the devs seem to be genuinely trying their hardest) but it’s still got something that makes purchasing most of it worthwhile.
but ever since EA got their hands on sims, they’ve been basically trying to treat it like every other games franchise and failing horribly bc the sims community is so different to like fifa and madden. you could first see this with the store, which even the community eager to spend hundreds on dlc hated, because it was 99% cosmetics when there’s literally millions of free cosmetics downloadable online. even then, i saw people be genuinely appreciative with new neighbourhoods and gameplay stuff, though there was still lots of complaints.
but with the sims 4? god the execs do NOT know the community and they’re not going to try. first they tried to make it basically an mmo, which no one in the community wanted (this is why sims 4 feels like an always online multiplayer mobile game basically). then they had content cut that was iconic, they toned down the trademark cheeky humour the series always had to appeal to kids, they put so much focus on hip trendy things and product placement that just does NOT appeal to wine mums who want to build houses.
and I really do think the devs are trying and listening, but they’re being told to make things that the higher ups think will sell and not things they want, and what the higher ups think people will like is not what the sims community ever wants. and with rumours they’re trying to make sims 5 a multiplayer game too despite how that went with sims city and sims 4 i will die laughing if EA shoots themselves in the foot by alienating an entire group of customers who will happily pay hundreds by simply not even trying to appeal to them. i mean, the sims community will still be around even if that happens, the last mod for sims will be uploaded seconds before the stars burn out, so i wouldn’t mind.

Expectations are Hollywood's Lies: Witchcraft Edition (Ghosts)
Holy shit does Hollywood/the media do the dead fucking dirty.
Expectation:
Reality (most of the time):
We see them in horror movies and they're the stars of some of our childhood scary stories. Almost always with some fucked up agenda. Or at best, they're some tragic fool who doesn't understand they're actually dead and have a tendency to lash out once someone breaks the news that they've been dead for like 300 years. But I think what sucks the most about how the media portrays spirits/ghosts is how they boil them down to one trait.
They're not fucking sims, some of them used to be human beings. And even the ones who never were are very complicated in their own right.
The spirit world so to speak is vast and really complicated and it's definetely not going to be all brushed on in one measly tumblr post. (Besides, isn't there like a line limit or some shit?) This topic alone will probably have parts to it. So consider this the first one.
There are instances where spirits, especially those who used to be a living person don't understand they're dead. That's more uncommon than you'd think though, and it would have to be a very sudden death. Most spirits/ghosts who were once alive kind of understand they're no longer among the living. You don't lose intelligence upon death, just your life. More often you can put two and two together. That's not to say a traumatic experience can't cause a looping issue. There are some who have been so impacted by their cause of death, it'll repeat. Whether that's actually them or the leftover energy of their agony, I don't really know. But, media likes to eat that shit up regardless.
That's where you get your reported screams in the middle of the night and pleas for help in haunted locations. Especially if those locations were famous or infamous more realistically for harming multiple people (insane asylums, prisons, pow sites etc). That type of energy and pain never really leaves. Usually we tend to hope no one is still attached to those kinds of places but not all of us can be so lucky unfortunately. Sometimes the feelings and thus the attachment are just too strong.
Unfortunately, this is what you normally see in a lot of horror movies as well. "Spirits of this accursed place who were taken far too young are now going to come after you to drag you to hell with them."
When you hear enough spirits just flat out looking for someone else or just begging for the agony to end, or even worse, someone who died lost and are just looking for a way home even after death, shit like that gets real old real fast.
Yes, there are a lot of mischievous and even very harmful spirits out there. I will never deny that they exist. Many ghosts do attack and harm others. However, media has in my opinion painted all spirits in such a simplistic and bad light, we don't give these past people and spiritual folk the chance to actually be who they are. Even the best of the best ghost hunting shows are guilty of this for the views.
So what don't we see a lot of the time in media when it comes to ghosts/spirits? In a word: Humanity. Hell, even the "good" ghosts are boiled down heavily.
But Sol, some of you might say, a good ghost is just a protector right? No, sometimes, ghosts just don't wanna be bothered. Other times, they're testing their boundaries and your patience. Sometimes, they just enjoy being able to cohabitate and watch. Many neutral/good spirits enjoy their space being used for their purpose, especially if it's a house they loved in their lifetime. To watch a family grow up in their home can make them happy too. Some are afraid to interact and end up doing things by accident that makes them scary to us as the living. There's even some cases where there are spirit/living romances. (The validity on that greatly varies though. But it's fascinating as fuck.)
(I've never even seen this damn movie.)
Even guardian spirits who are there to help/protect got their own shit going on too. Spirits/ghosts are very much capable of having emotions and complex thoughts, even though we can't exactly hear them. Not to mention a lot of spirits can freely roam. More often than you think, deceased loved ones and such do travel with you quite a bit. Random ones walk amongst you.
Spirits/ghosts vary as much as we do. They're individuals and they have their own stories, motivations and complications. The more you treat them like such a being, the better the communication with them tends to be.

I keep EVERYTHING and it's probably why I keep running out of space to keep backups as my screenshots folder is about as big as mods folder and if not for me constantly taking out old saves to ALSO backup it would also be as massive. I really need to get like a massive drive that won't kill itself on me and put a million backups in there.
I have no shame, I share shit with friends too and I have screenshots going back to my old crappy laptop in 2018.
God I want bands so bad in Sims 4. I have modded drums but they are not the same, and they also broke pianos for me at the same time. I use Clubs as makeshift bands but it's not THE SAME and I've heard everyone sing and play guitar so many times I can just tell who is doing it despite all Sims having the same singing voice for some reason. I just KNOW who is more likely to just start singing or pull out a guitar and start doing it and who is more often distracted by flirting.
I'm inconsistent with building as it takes me forever to make a layout and it makes me doubt myself endlessly and I hate making roofs. But I like furnishing and doing layouts, I just try so hard to avoid making boxes that I give myself pain trying to make it 'interesting'. Which usually just means L shapes, how exciting and different. I think I've played too much Minecraft as I do the exact same fucking thing there.
I also can't build anything but houses. Every time I built anything else it failed spectacularly. I keep my awful restaurant because Alex works there and it's fun to sexually harass him at work and restaurants seem to work better without mods meant to fix them for some fucking reason for me, but I built a park once and it was so awful I deleted it from existence.
WHY did that mod make restaurants break for me, chefs never showed up but waiters still did, so DUMB. It's supposed to make them work better, but it works better without it.
I feel like some of my friends would be chill with me sharing my save file screenshots but like,,, I don’t take that many
I use the in game camera so my sims can have memories and that’s usually what’s clogging my screenshot folder tbh

I use a lot of Pinterest floor plans that I’ll usually modify to fit my needs. I have a comfort build that’s basically just My Happy Place with an entirely made up floor plan based on a maladaptive daydream universe I still can’t completely let go of. When life is really bad I put myself sim in with my para parents and just,,,, heal my inert child

Rambling about The Sims
You might have noticed, that I rebloged two The Sims 2 posts, and I haven't posted about The Sims 4 in a while. So let me just pour out my thoughts on the current state of The Sims 4 here, since this my Sims Journal.
I admit, I made a mistake when I updated my game back in December. I always make this mistake. I should have waited, but it happened, and after that I didn't dare to open my main save. Even tho I have multiple back-ups, I back-up like crazy, I use 'save as' instead of 'save' at the end of every sim week (there was a time when I used it all the time, and ended up with 1000+ save files, so I reduced it to once/sim week for back-up).
Before I updated, I started to furnish a mansion for the Hargreaves family, but then I saw people getting lot corruption, I was scared to continue. I don't wanna lose hours of furnishing because the lot decides not to load anymore for some random reason, and it's a big lot 40x30, and the house is the whole lot basicly. I HOPE that the corrupted lots are not completely lost if the developers find the root of the problem and we get a fix, but this situation just discourages me to continue. Gallery lots are also affected. No one really knows what's causing this. To much objects, or particular objects? Who knows?
January patch came, and it was a disappointment. We got no fixes for the really game breaking bugs. And I get it, theese bugs are tough! Save and lot corruptions are not just a normal 'oopsie' in a script. I'm sure they are working on it full time, that's why we got so little fixes this month. But I was hoping my hiatus from my main save will be only a month. It looks like it will be longer.
I started a new save just to test out some mods I might wanna use in my main save later. I played a little rags to riches, I tried Padasama's Child Birth Mod. I wouldn't minded corruption at first, but then I got too attached. After the patch this month, I wanted to update my mods, but modders are so quiet. I tried to find info on what's broken, and what's compatible, but I couldn't. I didn't wanna bother modders because they might be busy and/or tired.
So, I decided to switch games until we get the monthly update in February then we will see from there. I made a poll on Twitter, and The Sims 2 won, so my next month will be about The Sims 2.
I still love The Sims 4 and I wanna play it. But I know myself. I don't have the patience like years ago when I spent days migrating my sims into a new save every time I broke it with a mod. That's why I went to no mods for almost a year and started to slowly and safely put mods into my game again. The fear that I have to start over again is real. And this time it's not a mod that I put in without reading a description. The game itself is a ticking time-bomb.
I know, someone might ask, but what about The Sims 2? Isn't that an unstable mess that can be corrupted so easily? Well, no. Just watch April Black's video about the topic. She completely erased my fear about The Sims 2 corruption, because now I know what to do if it happens, why it happens and how to prevent it.

I don't have that ambitious plans with The Sims 2. My The Sims 4 main save plans were to play the whole 4 seasons of the original story I wrote with my husband. It will take me years. For The Sims 2, I made a monthly plan: I will play the Stories games first, then I will continue their stories in The Sims 2, and I play as long as I wanna or can.
I also have plans for playing The Sims Medieval and that plan is much more ambitious: completing all the ambitions before entering the endless game mode with a kingdom that formed through the ambitions. But we will get to it if February's patch couldn't fix the major issues of The Sims 4.
I wanted to make videos about The Sims 2, but I just can't filter out the noise. My laptop is like a hybrid between a coffee grinder and an airplane, I live next to a busy street, trafic is crazy, everything is so noisy I'm gonna go insane! And it's even worse on recording.

[Gen1, Part1] That’s a lot of fish!
This series is officially underway and I’m quite excited. I debated for a bit about whether I wanted to do a true Rags to Riches challenge or an easier version (aka with a starter house.) This is simply because I’ve always have money issues IRL and they’re super stressful.
I play games to escape stress, but I thought about it and came to the conclusion that I can live out my dreams through them. I may not be able to get rid of my money issues IRL, but I can help them to overcome their own!
Also, I’d like to mention that I couldn’t remember which neighborhood had all of the collectibles. I chose wrong and had to travel to the other neighborhood to start collecting haha I also immediately regretted choosing Oasis over Willow.
The latter is just so much prettier and, in my opinion, has better resources.
It takes a while for collectibles to start spawning in, so I decided it was best to start fishing. Normally, my sims don’t really catch anything at the start and Raelin was no different.
At least, she wasn’t at first. It didn’t take long at all before she was fishing up the entire river! I’ve never had a sim catch this many fish at one time when they have no fishing skill.
I was seriously impressed! And she seems quite proud of herself, as well haha
Once the collectibles started to spawn, I sent her off to gather as many as she could.
My casual playthrough quickly turned to one of horror, though…
At first, I figured they were just broken CC hairs because I haven’t played in ages, but now I’m beginning to think that they are only broken because I uninstalled all packs except for the base game.
You don’t make much money off photography, especially when you’re just using the cell phone, but it’s a fun hobby. I enjoy taking pictures of the world because it truly is beautiful! Plus, it’s not like they sell for 0.
I’m not sure why, but sims just don’t tend to grill in my games. I’ve watched loads of playthroughs where they go to the park and sims will grill food so they can eat for free. That never happens for me which is super frustrating for this kind of challenge.
Hot dogs are the cheapest at just 13 simoleons, so she’s gonna be eating a lot of that for a while haha
One thing I really miss are whims. I know there’s the wants and fears system, which I did turn on once I remembered to, but it’s not the same. The fears are super annoying, in my opinion, and they can really mess with a sim’s mood.
When I finally did turn it back on, her first want was to play chess because she was at the park. An easy one to accomplish.
Many naps and an uncomfortable bench later…
I wanted to head to Willow Creek because I was already tired of Oasis lol Honestly, I debated for a moment whether or not I wanted to stay exclusively inside of the world I had chosen but I figured that would get annoying down the road.

I have also decided that I’m going to have a “portrait” aka a selfie of each heir to keep on the wall. Not sure how well this will go. Perhaps I’ll have each heir take the photos when they move out, hmm…

…I’ve been having a weird issue with my game and I’m trying to figure out if there’s a way to solve it.
I’m not 100% sure this is the cause, but it seems highly likely. While I was playing a round of university, one of the sims had a LTW that included being a member of the secret society. My game is set up not to spawn dormies, so I spent some time puzzling out the best way to accomplish this. Obviously, the solution was what I ultimately did—instruct the game to spawn dormies. On the way to that, though, I used the Sim Blender’s teleport function to spawn in a ton of random sims, hunting for Secret Society members. I didn’t spawn in anybody clearly bad for the game—but I did wind up spawning in a few carpool people, and I did accidentally let them socialize before clearing them out.
So now, the actual issue, which started happening after that. Sometimes, a particular random sim man spawns in on the sidewalk outside whatever house I am playing. He doesn’t move, and his presence breaks the fast-forward, making it move at normal speed no matter what I have set. He has some interactable options, but I have not directed any sims to interact with him, instead using the Sim Blender’s teleport to “clear off”.
I suspect he’s a carpool driver that got shoved into a “potential walkby” category by the game when I spawned him in during the Huge Mistake I seem to have made earlier. I know it’s a bad idea to treat him like a normal sim if this is the case, but he’s appearing at least once in every household I play, and I would like to stop this from happening and, if possible, repair the issue. If it’s okay to just kill him, I will, but I don’t know if that will fix it or just prevent specifically him from appearing. I already used the HoodChecker once and it didn’t appear to help.
Also, this is in an Ubermegahood I have almost finished Round One with. I really don’t want to have to delete the hood, but it is replaceable I GUESS.
Any advice would be very helpful.

Right! Back to Gunther. I got skills to level on him and I’m a bit tired of lingering around this house. So! We go to where there are chess tables out and about! Library or park! Or perhaps...the Von Haunt Estate? I mean, I would, but that has a knight’s club that Wolfgang is in! I don’t think he wants to associate with his brother. So off to the library with us!
By the by, Gunther is in a club still that values writing and such. And yet, I stick him at home when he writes and at the library alone. Across from the place his club meets up with. Alas. A lot has to do with having no relationships with Maike Haas or Hugo anymore so I don’t even think about them. Also Maike is currently not in any home sooooo, that’s fun.
I set Gunther to ponder those logical moves at the chess table and then headed up the stairs to research logic. All the while, continuing to be his very glum self.
Haha! My trap is revealed! Eventually those with high logic skill would spawn in and Gunther could have someone to chess with! And befriend perhaps. I’m not initiating conversations in his gloomy mood, that’ll be up to him. Anyway, here’s Leila Illes, who gained logic purely for the sake of her career growth as an artist. And fellow Rising Star celebrity! No introductions pass and she wins the chess game. Alas! Time to mope around, nab some fries for a munch, and then head home to sleep. All the while, narrowly avoiding chatting with another vampire. SO MANY VAMPIRES AROUND HERE. I need more werewolves to balance it out.
So he arises from his sleep at 9PM. The time of ghosts. Gunther has become nocturnal over the course of this weekend. Alas. He has work in 14 hours. So I’ll send him to bed again at 10 hours til work and see how things shake out.
...and I seem to be running into an issue here. Normally, when you’re unable to cook a group meal, the game points out what ingredients you’re missing. But this time, it doesn’t seem to be popping up? -shrugs- We’ll see if this continues to be an issue. I like making leftovers to eat at other times so...this is disappointing.
And Gunther also reached level 10 Gourmet Cooking! Nicely done!
And thus do I send Gunther to slumber...which only lasted until 2AM. Dude’s well-rested I suppose. Perhaps I’ll take a nap before work happens. Or it could just be another bump in the night that disturbs him awake. Ah well. His whim is to skill up so he and Guidry can play a chess match together. And flirt a little. And smooch. Hehehehehe. But enough of these boys it’s time for-

Blakely Harp in the Harp household has died. Blakely got a little too angry and exploded.
Blakely...Blakely. I recognize that- OH! She was one of the butlers! Dang. RIP to her.
Maximiliano Villanueva in the Villanueva household has started a job as a New Hire in the Salaryperson career.
Brayden McCauley in the McCauley household has died. Brayden experienced more embarrassment than any Sim can handle.
Anyway, let’s get back to the smooching boys and-
...I suppose this is to be expected. You know, it’s nice that Gunther found love again. With quite the ghostly fellow! Who will likely smooch anyone but hey, it’s not as if woohoo with a ghost is dangerous! But how does it work? Is it more of a mental thing?
Anyway, another round of chess with Gunther and Guidry. And then, after smashing some hands, a quick nap before we head to work. Our bills also came in and we’re at 5,196. Yeesh. But double checking his career and how much money Gunther makes per hour and he can still afford it. Still really need to get water managed.
Anyway, our assignments are to paint a mural for 2 hours, not what I expect from a food critic but hey, and to write a book. And thankfully, we still got Fizzy Fizz Fuzz in the works for us to finish up. A mural though… I tend to like putting those within the local worlds of the person that lives there. But where would be ideal?
While I ponder this, we sell our latest book and check the NAPs again. 10 for Performing Arts and 9 for Foodies. Hmmmmmm. How much does Gunther want this? ...he wants it. I push for three more votes in the Foodies ballot. With two hours remaining, it’ll definitely win.
Still had the ingredients thing when making a Ceaser Salad for lunch. It wouldn’t bother me if I didn’t have ingredients, but I don’t know what ingredients I’m missing that annoys me. Hmm.
Anyway, still debating between Old Platz, the old historical neighborhood, and the Lykke Centre for where to put the mural. My first instinct is around the library, nighclub and cafe of Old Platz so I headed on over to the Narwhal Arms to scope out the venues for any inviting walls.
And what I found was a good spot to seemingly put a garage door at. Just right behind where the dj would be. Nice nice. Hmm. City? Or Cultural? Let’s go with City and see what we get. ...honestly graffti would be best but the job thing says mural!
And there we go with the Foodies Unite winning the vote. Nice nice! We also completed our job of painting for two hours, but we ain’t yet done with the mural! No we must finish this work! I demand it!
Hmm. It’s nice and all but I don’t know if it fits Windenburg’s vibe. Perhaps cultural next time? I was going to order a drink in celebration but then I remembered, drinks are NO GOOD! So instead we go home to a ghost-free home and get some rest. Well, until something spooks Gunther awake. As things do. I spot a spectre out so I go ahead and cook some food for them. But before the results of attempted spectre appeal,

Today is the last day with Gunther and since we report into work today, I don’t feel like it’ll be especially long so, extra-long post! We make some asparagus which we ate and also appeased a spectre with! Nice nice! And received a gift!
...so we’re going to drink someone’s essence. Interesting. With it, we gain a bunch of painting experience, as he gained memories from a previous life. Also we can sell the glass, which is nice. Back to snoozing though! Snooze until an hour until work! And then work hard! Work hard, make money!
Returning from work, Gunther’s whims are to read a book, and cloudgaze with the librarian he met awhile back. Well, he works until 8PM and also, it’s cloudless in Windenburg. Summertime and the weather is hot. I at least wanted to get to know the guy a little bit better and make some light chatter before I head off to find a book. Romance novel, it looks like. Finishing off the book, I make for the Research Station to research more logic. Very close to a level and that’ll nearly be done with the aspiration then. We instead level Research and Debate up to 3 and also get the prompt to go “do you like doing this?” To which I’m basically like, hmmmm, maybe but ehhhh nah. Not a special like with him. Means to an end.
We’re also hungry. I would go to the nearby food stall but all it has is parfaits and hamburgers and hot dogs and this is Gunther! We want fancy feasts! And there are two restaurants that can fulfil that whim. An Italian one and a fish based one. Which does he feel like? I’m always down for noodles so off to Willow Creek. Mostly Gunther was right next to a vampire couple arguing all the while. And other patrons being very scared for some reason or other.
Oh dear. Food is aboslutely horrid. Be grateful Gunther’s not at work chefs! But someone is going to have a very bad day. Primally Gunther. You can send insults to the chef and so I do so. Because he DEMANDS better.
And so we send Gunther home, with a bad meal in his stomach. And so we end this run of the Munch household. Where shall we go next? We’ll find out after…

So Ive played a good deal more since my last update (last night) I’d like to say It’s me getting the hang of playing a whole house of Sims, but as the game keeps going obviously the house gets smaller so that’s not it.
I was mid way through Day “7” eliminations (cutting from 6 to 5 contestants) last night- and now im leaving things off just as i enter Day 13 eliminations, about to cut from 4 to 3. Thats 6 days, plus an extra day for the Speed Dating portion, plus a day for how long eliminations take me, And then there was a day i “cancelled filming” because there was this huge thunderstorm outside and if my Sims couldn’t be outside i didnt trust the elimination process to go well (Jealousy is a nuisance when you’re purposefully leaving a possibility for it to happen by chance, but It’s annoying as hell when you’re trying to follow basic steps of the challenge and suddenly everyone’s Sad and rejecting all advances because they feel their Love Drifting 🙄) i got lucky that the house i chose had a little spot out back in the garden that looks entirely like It’s there for that kinda ceremony, so I just keep the bachelorette in the green, and get the rest of the house in alphabetical order, leaving the bottom 2 for last.
Here’s a recap of stuff that’s happened since Day 7-
Day 7- Bottom two were Harley (Acquaintance 🖤) and Pearl (Friend 💜) I couldn’t bring myself to eliminate Harley, so I vetoed and got rid of Pearl. This left 5 competitors
Day 8-Free Day at home- Harley decided to be angry and yell-y for a lot of her first real conversations with the bachelorette, so I was worried that wouldn’t go anywhere at all. Alex got super jealous of the Doctor, aggravating her and refusing most of the bachelorettes advances, throwing a drink in their face. She also continued to keep her bitter issues with Klaus, and insulted the Doctor. The Doctor noticed the bachelorette’s banter with Klaus getting a little flirty and got hit with her own jealousy, though I think that stood more to cut down her relationship points than cause any drama.
Day 9-“Speed Dating”- Harley had the date on Love Day, I believe it came out gold? Maybe silver. But anyway, it went well. I originally meant them to hang at a museum, but then they got hungry and needed to piss like immediately so, with the lounge right next door to the museum, I decided that as they actually started the date, they’d move to said lounge.
I believe this was also the first Day the bachelorette rolled a Want to ask the Doctor to be their girlfriend. Which puts her there with Klaus on “ones they knew they could really see themself committing to.” They went on to roll this want two other times in the coming days, so we’ll say that whatever they’re really feeling about the Doc, they definitely consider her long-term/wife material. (Yes I know the wants roll that for any relationship Friend or higher but at least while I don’t have them with someone I want to see it as favor. I feel like I’d use that as a tie-breaker if I had a normal sim who had pink bars with multiple girls but wanted to finally pick one to actually date. As far as the annoying rolls to break up in happy relationships- I was glad to see that validated, that other people think it comes out of nowhere, and decided I’ll treat it as an errant thought if there are no problems whatsoever, but if they had a recent fight or have no romantic sentiments or have other romantic prospects, i could use it as a means to pick a fight.
The second “Date” was with Alex- and it was basically a waste. I couldn’t get them the option to make it a real date really easily so I just didn’t. I just set them to talking- and in an embarrassing turn of events, the bachelorette kept trying to flirt with her, and she kept refusing. As if after seeing them flirt with the Doctor, she’s just done in this competition. She’s over it.
Day 10- Eliminations
Bottom 2- Alex (Acquaintances 🖤) and Klaus (Lovebirds 💚). Klaus hasn’t been doing badly, really. Just the other three were all lovebirds, I just kinda did my best.
Alex, clearly, was eliminated.
Day 11- Group date at local venue-
They all went to the park. I didn’t start a party, I just set them on autonomy for 6 game hours.
Day 12- only one 1-on-1 date this round. It went to María José. They had their first kiss. Honestly it shouldn’t be weird to me, but it seems like Majo is in the lead.
Day 13- eliminations
This is where I left off. Next will be some last-chance chats with whoever demands their attention first.

The Sims 4 last updates bugs I noticed
some of them are really silly and well know already
1. sometimes sims get stuck on objects/walls and walk like theyre on tip toe
2. if you are proposing to someone, a random sim can just ruin everything by inserting themself in the middle (honestly that happens in every romantic conversation youre having with your partner, they just love ruining the moment)
3. sims talk about pillow fights ALL THE TIME on the social bunny
4. again an issue with social bunny: random sims that are just acquaintances will hit on you out of nowhere AND you sim sometimes can react positively to the messages, and that will give them a relationship (romantic interest), even if they dont share the same sexuality interest
5. already mentioning the sexualities: sims simply dont care that you arent attracted to them, theyll keep hitting on you and you can even have a high romance bar with them (without kissing and woohooing of course, cause that at least they wont do)

7. i have no idea how or why that happened but some random sims just entered my house and asked to become bffs with my sim, and when i said no they were hurt. i just...... idk i just cant even explain how tf that happened
8. the fears..... the FUCKING fears... you just cant get rid of them omg
9. the fears again. while i did like the addition of them to give more realism to the gameplay i really disliked the fact that my sims were unhappy with their lifes all the time, like???? bro what am i doing wrong?? my sim has a fear of dead-end-job and fear of unfulfilled dream, these are SO EASY to have, and even if you try to cheer up before going to work, change careers, stop working, complete aspirations, do wins, your sim will still be fearful. WHY???
10. this one you can only notice if you have “controllable pets mod” or if you click tab (select the pet) > cheat sim info > remove moodlet. then youll notice that when a pet is around a werewolf sim theyll get uncomfortable, just like a normal sim would. idk if its proposital, but it kinda makes the gameplay harder for werewolf sims to get along with pets, since theyll get tense while near the sim (to solve this: tab > cheat sim info > add trait > scroll till you find the “werewolf ally” trait, its almost at the end)
11. sims will randomly be mean to each other, even if they have high friendship/romance or are good sims, and that sometimes happens while they are having a date and you planned everything to look romantic..... i hate it (that also goes to the social bunny, i almost forgot to mention - theyll just randomly send you a mean text)
