Good morning friends I have a Logistics Post to make

TLDR: I’m not outright leaving Tumblr, but I am also going to try and start using Cohost (as heart-of-the-void) - but, only once I have decided how I want to use that site and have also finished overhauling my carrds and Toyhouse. This will take a while.

I have actually had a Cohost page for.. about three months or so. It’s heart-of-the-void, because I was eager to get the username I’ve wanted here for ages and was successful there haha. However, I had yet to actually do anything with it until now, because a) not many others were also on the website and b) I don’t like how following tags and pages isn’t shared across the whole account, like it is here. However, I do think it would be somewhere I could also exist, especially if people do outright leave other sites, so.. I do intend to try and make more of a thing of having it.

What I’m thinking of doing is either:

Having one page for selfship stuff and one page for non-selfship stuff, following selfshippers on one and everyone else and non-selfship tags on the other (creating two very separate “dashboards”, essentially)

Having two pages as described above, but following everything through the non-selfship one, so I can just use the selfship one like a secondary blog (keeping one “dashboard”, as I have now, which may be easiest for me to use)

Having a page for every interest like I have now, following appropriate tags and blogs on each page (creating many disconnected “dashboards”, which would take longer to check, but potentially enables the following of lots more tags and blogs without being overwhelmed by them all at once?)

but I’m not sure yet.

Any actual active use of Cohost on my part, including interacting with other people, will probably not actually start until I have decided on which of the above approaches to use, but also won’t start until I’ve finished overhauling my carrds. I’d already edited my self-insert carrd to add some information on Fiori and fix a broken link, but after checking out a link at Hope’s very kind recommendation, I’ve decided that I want to keep my carrds as purely an admin info-type thing - so DNI criteria, tags used on my pages, etc. - the sorts of thing that someone who doesn’t already know me can read and decide whether they want to follow me without having to spend much time doing so.

To do this, I will be moving the current lists of F/Os and self-inserts (and maybe also OCs) to my Toyhouse; I can’t see myself creating a second account there, so it’ll go somewhere on my current one, astralplume. This will hopefully allow me to make my carrds more concise in themselves - and maybe even free up one to be used for something else, like my FFXIV verse - but also still allow me to have an informative archive of information about my F/Os and self-inserts, without making the carrds so long that it would take someone ages to read through them in their entirety.

I hope that all of this makes some semblance of sense! Please know that if you have any questions or want any sort of clarification for what I’ve said, you are more than encouraged to reach out.

Hello there! Please, call me Nimue. I’m 22 years old and German (English is my second anguage). I am on the aromantic spectrum. I am genderfluid and thus what I identify as will shift on a whim. Selfship Stuff

Overhaul? Yes. But I try to be a bit more careful with f/os nowadays so a lot are pending. I mainly focus on Ensemble Stars and Hypnosis Mic tho, so expect me to gush about them the most. I mostly post about Fling Posse at the moment. I love all of my f/os though!

"Shipped with s/i" means that I ship them with my s/i but I do not consider them f/os! I just enjoy the ship dynamics. Thus these ships are not personal to me by any means and I would not rank them as my partners due to a lack of feelings for them.

There are also a few f/os who are a bit complicated due to past circumstances (I rather not talk about it). Once I recovered and sorted my feelings I add them to the other rows especially Romani Archaman, I love him so much and want to decleare him my boyfriend again you have no idea... However long that will be. I love them though and plan to add and gush about them eventually once I moved on from the situation! I just don't know when that will be...

Iffy sharing Fling Posse (Ramuda, Gentaro, Dice), Henry (FE) and Blaze romantically (except with my friends). I will not block you but I might block your tag (if possible) or not follow back and/or interact with your posts (related to that f/o) if possible. Sorry in advance for the long ask; feel free to delete without even reading the whole thing, I just really need to voice this somewhere and if by chance you did want to reply I’d massively appreciate your perspective.

I just was wondering… do you have any advice for finally ditching the plausible deniability of being “neutral” or “just anti-harassment” while existing on the selfship side of tumblr?

When I first joined the community I had genuinely never heard of proship vs antiship before, so I took a year or so researching and deciding where I stand on the matter. After witnessing the insanity of antis in action over and over and finding a much more rational community on Aethy and elsewhere in proship spaces, I’ve found I definitely come down on the proship side of the line. In recent months especially, I’ve found myself blocking more and more of my former mutuals or people I used to follow because of their “proship DNI” banners or the way they talk about other people who aren’t up to their standards… the trouble is, I’m not finding anyone new to fill my dashboard from proselfship tumblr, either.

I’m down to a handful of selfship blogs followed, and feel like I can’t reblog almost anything selfship-related because everything is polarized and I’d either be reblogging stuff that’s yelling “proship DNI” at the bottom, or else painting a target on my back and the backs my mutuals and whoever I reblog from by reblogging from proship blogs to an audience that I feel certain still contains a lot of antis but can’t possibly weed out entirely.

I’m not sure what to do. I think I’d be very easily identifiable if I just made an entirely new blog and turned the old one into an archive, so it would only be delaying the issue to take that route. Just slapping “btw this blog is proship now” might cause asshole antis to decide to harass not only me but anyone I associate with. I’ve never felt quite so badly “stuck” as I do now in terms of social issues.

Any advice would be welcome, but if you don’t have any, then thank you for taking the time just to read this. I hope you have an awesome day, and remember that your f/os adore you. 💙

It's a very complicated situation, I'm really sorry nonny!

Well, I've been there before. My main blog grew way more than I wanted it to, getting to over 1.5K followers, so I also felt cornered and unable to reblog the things I liked or interact with the people I wanted to.

It may be scary but the best advice I have is to make an entirely new blog and take your time warming up to the new waters. If you're afraid that you'll be recognized on Tumblr, then the communities over on Mastodon might be a bit better for you to gain confidence! If you're an adult and comfortable with NSFW content, I strongly suggest Baraag.

If you prefer to keep your original blog, it's a bit more complicated if you have constant/active interactions with your anti mutuals, because the safest option would be to block them. If you do, change your settings so that only mutuals can message you and so you won't be able to receive asks with media or anon asks, so you can avoid harassment.

I suggest slowly distancing yourself from antis until you feel it's safe to block them, instead of doing it right away, because people may block-evade you to see what's been going on in your blog after a sudden block.

As for only finding a couple of people to follow, you don't have to worry about it! If you follow five people, they'll interact with other accounts that will eventually catch your eye and so on. That's how your community and online spaces grow!

So this one is actually really difficult to apply to a selfship bcs of the meaning behind the song. Basically it’s about loving someone, but the differing backgrounds of the two people (specifically that one is Asian and one is white) gets in the way of the relationship so that it can’t last. And part of the reason it can’t last is bcs the Asian woman is trying to erase that part of her to conform to the idea of what an American girl should be, with that not being sustainable bcs it’s erasing part of who you are. This is a messy explanation tho, so I’d recommend anyone who wants to know more check out the Genius page for this song to see some deeper analysis of it and quotes from Mitski on it

But with all of that, this one is hard for me bcs I’m Asian (Korean specifically), but I’m also mixed and was raised without a ton of connection to my culture bcs my grandmother never passed that down. So I feel kinda weird claiming this song as something for me, even if it’s a thing I can relate to on some levels, but with that erasure of identity to conform to white American standards having further down my family tree and making it so that as an adult I’m working on trying to connect with my culture more

Anyway, I know I technically have more of a claim so to speak to this song than the countless completely white people who use it for ship stuff. I’m just kinda over explaining bcs of how often this song being about that is forgotten/ignored, and I want the approach I’m taking to talking about it here to be clear. If I’m assigning this to a ship, I’d give it to Xenia and Alexander. Alexander’s white, and he spent his whole life in Russia, while Xenia’s an American immigrant who shares my background of being 1/4 Korean and 3/4 white. They have very different backgrounds bcs of those cultural difference, but a key difference from the song is that they’re able to make things work by acknowledging these differences and trying to understand each other’s view based on them. I also like to think that Alexander would be happy to help Xenia explore her identity and reclaim parts of it that she’s lost down her family tree

My fe8 s/i is admittedly not very developed BUT STILL

I’m a half-manakete that’s part of this mercenary group that takes odd jobs across the continent! During the war ingame they join Eirika’s (And her brothers it depends on which route you take but. We’re talking abt my girl!!) team really early on, so they get to be with her for the entire game!! She and my S/I are able to get really close because I assist with war tactics!

i think there’s a lot of unease at first purely due to the concept of you know. a war but in part that we were on the losing right side. i think even though it was directly said, my s/i had a lot of difficulty trusting this would turn out well. my s/i though is eventually moved just because instead of after ALL THAT HAD HAPPENED (being orphaned, losing kingdom, you know… the usual) eirika continued to fight the country that had been her ally and stayed kind despite it. That. that devolved into gushing but i think its pretty easy to guess that it goes romantic. Or. more staring at her like im about to faint until she gets the hint (she does!!!!! eventually. its very slow burn)

some other fun stuff:

- My S/I doesn’t actually have any dragon stone (the thing that lets manaketes shift) until he runs into the crew! its a bit of a struggle to learn but hey!!! dragon rights aquired

- speaking of, it isn’t actually known that my S/I’s half-manakete before this. So its a bit of an awkward conversation..

- the size of the dragon form can actually shift! theres a limit though— i cant really be smaller than pocket size and can’t be much bigger than say… a house?

- im taller here. because id rather die than be a big dragon and then turn back and be 5’0 (around 152 cm i believe?)

Silvertongue Echo: mostly just a lot of different meet-cutes! People write about us meeting when Toshi's in hero form because we never interacted as Echo and All Might in canon. So lots of AUs where we meet with him rescuing me.

Cat's Paw Echo: non-Quirk High School AUs get written a fair amount, also a lot of omegaverse :V

Silvertongue Echo: People really lean into my mental health in the fics and write a lot of hurt/comfort with me struggling with depression and things that come with that. And as I said, lots of meetcutes.

Cat's Paw Echo: lots of romantic blood drinking and trauma coping and sharing sad backstories

💘: Why would people love your ship? Why would people dislike your ship? How might it start debates? 🙈: Why would your ship be thought of as cute/fluffy? Why would your ship be considered problematic?

Hahahahaha oh THIS is a fun one: I have to answer them at the same time because they're similar answers!

Caregiver Echo: A classic story of love and redemption!!! Take care of that sad crusty boy! The masses love to see it! As I mentioned, we're ambiguously romantic in the canon content (some fans interpret it as platonic) so we are a VERY debated ship. There's an age gap and Shigaraki is clearly not familiar with interpersonal relationships so some people argue it would be creepy to ship it romantically, while others say it's encouraging the 'afab character saves dangerous man from his own emotions' story

Silvertongue Echo: I think people who dislike this ship just think it's boring and unnecessary to the plot? Adding romance is disrespectful to the point of the story, etc. But I'm sooo charming that most people like the ship anyways: we've got a sweet plot and we win most people over to our side! We don't get a lot of discourse: some people pick a fight with our age gap but it's not really noticeable from our designs so a lot of people forget about it tbh and also I'm a proper adult so who cares aside from the real sticklers

Cat's Paw Echo: Ohohoho big discourse on this one! My character is two years older than Toga which technically makes it an adult/minor relationship and that is Big Discourse, and then other League members are even older, so that's double discourse for the people who ship it as a poly thing. Evil gay people is also a point of discourse between me and Magne and Toga being all canon queer and basically no canon queer heroes. All of that said, people who see themselves in the outcast group and just want to run around like feral villains and get loved for being themselves without making themselves 'normal' go wild for the League and also for our ship!!!

Ahhh thank you, I’m currently drinking in the comfort of my own home so I get to crash right after ☺️ In the meantime gonna read some romance novels and maybe mess around with my tarot cards. I have *some* stuff planned this weekend at least, like hopefully taking pics with friends, but I’m just impatient this evening

Kaeya as Tengen is a fantastic choice, I can definitely see it ✨✨✨ Three cheers for tiddy window ✨✨✨ My costume this year is fairy stuff I’ve scavenged out of the nearest Halloween store, and its all blue which I normally don’t do these days, I’ve been a lot more of a red person in the past couple of years. Though now I’m thinkin about costumes for Childe n me and I think a pirate and a mermaid would be fun ☺️ I’m thinkin ocean theme because he’s my ocean boy ^_^

❤ author notes !! just college kids doing college kid stuff like mutual pining and kissing your best friend at a party. if you’ve seen my selfship post, then you’ll know that i hc ennoshita as studying abroad during college and getting himself an s/o in another country (mine, in the case of my selfship), so this is written with that in mind. i’m fairly certain it doesn’t need to be read that way, though!

chikara sits with his back to the door, dim fairy lights casting shadows down his back from where their warm glow meets the thursday evening shadows. music ebbs and flows around him with every opening and closing of the screen door from other party-goers grabbing a beer or whatever-else from the coolers across the backyard from where he sits, observing.

his beer, or what’s left of it, dangles between his fingers while his forearms rest on his knees and he leans his ear against the old tree where his and his roomates’ initials are carved. “ec” is written right next to yours, and he’d be lying if he said that wasn’t by design.

while he may not look like it, he loves his roomates’ parties, and not just for the free beer. the way he gets to watch people move around each other, how games and dancing erupt out of nowhere because everyone is so unbridled, unburdened, and unafraid of having fun in whatever way they choose – well, that’s fun for him. other people’s joy is his joy, and just getting to be here feels like it’s almost enough.

a weight settles into his back as arms loop around him before he can get too deep into his own thoughts. the drink that’s suddenly in his face nearly spills into his lap until he grabs the wrist that’s holding it. then comes the voice, a voice he hasn’t stopped thinking about since he was dumb enough to move into the same house as his crush, or dumb enough to fall in love with his best friend; pick your poison, really.

“hi, chikara,” you say, slipping clumsily down his spine to sit cross-legged at his side. he’s still holding your arm, and he tells himself it’s so you don't waste your drink; he’s just being nice; but, really, the way your skin feels in his palm makes his heart flutter no matter how sweaty from dancing you happen to be.

“i think you’re drunk,” he says, even though he’s not quite sober himself, because the higher lit in your voice and the giggle in your throat that can’t quite escape makes him feel especially aware of his surroundings.

“am not,” you argue, and he lets go of your wrist so you can take a sip of your drink when you pull away. your shoulder still bumps against his, and his arm tingles with the way that he wants to wrap it around you and nestle you against him. maybe he should follow your lead, he reasons, have another beer and see if that’s enough for him to calm the pounding in his chest.

“what number is that?” he presses with a half-joking tone, pointing to your cup.

you wrinkle your nose, and he blinks hard to focus on your eyes instead of how unfairly cute you look. “four.”

“you are absolutely drunk, you lightweight,” he laughs.

“well, how many have you had?” you retort. your voice is doing that thing again: rising up into your nose, speaking through pouted lips because he’s teasing you, and he loves when you do this because of him. the dangerous thought that he’s never seen you do that to anyone else looms in the back of his mind.

“four.”

“no way,” the way you gasp takes his breath away, which he hides behind a carefully raised eyebrow, “unless you’re sitting like this because four beers makes you a sad drunk, in which case, either have another beer or go to bed, chikara.”

he shakes his head as a smile crawls onto his lips, and he can’t bring himself to look at you because the sparkle in your eyes whenever you tease him might make him pass out. “i’m not the lightweight.”

your laugh fills and warms him up far better than beer ever could. suddenly, he’s laughing too, and the sensation just gets more intense: both of you, laughing in the slight space that separates your body from his as if he said the funniest thing in the world when, really, it was just a lame jab.

“you’re not that funny,” you say, still smiling, eyelashes wet because you tear up when you laugh too hard. you’ve been doing that around him a lot, lately, and he can’t decide if the realization is true or if he’s lying to himself in hope that you like him, too. “i think i’m a little drunk.”

“must be,” he murmurs as his eyes fall on the pink of your lips. the music feels louder and softer all at once, as if it’s faded so far away that all he can hear is the way his heartbeat naturally matches in response. the thrum fills his ears, and his mind races at full speed until he crashes into a wall and can’t think about anything else but you and him.

he thinks he’s a little drunk.

“are you going to remember any of this in the morning?” he asks, making it sound like he means the party when he’s really asking just in case he does the one thing he’s been thinking about for the last year.

when you lick your lips, he thinks about what it might feel like to kiss you. he’s played the scenario over and over again in his mind countless times, all of which he feels guilty about, but then you go and do something that feels like flirting and he feels caught in your orbit again.

“if i don’t, could you remind me over breakfast?”

he can’t help the breathless chuckle that leaves his lips because he doesn’t want to believe this is real. he hesitates to trust what his heart is telling him is happening, but if he doesn’t take a chance now, he’ll have to wait almost two months for another opportunity next semester. late november and the end of fall feel that way: final, like a last chance dangling in front of him if only he was brave enough to grab it. so, he starts to reach.

“i’ll buy you pancakes,” he agrees, fingers twitching as he considers touching you. he twists, turning toward you, reaching for one of your knees and letting his palm fall on your leg when you don’t move away. his fingers shake, his breath trembles, and his resolve bends as the late-fall air picks up around you both.

“blueberry’s my favorite,” you tease as heat rises to your face and your eyes flicker from his eyes, to his hand, to his lips, and back again.

“i know,” he says, quietly, because he does. your breakfast order at the little restaurant a short walk from the house you share is always blueberry pancakes and at least two cups of coffee, and then you usually pester him into stopping for bubble tea on the walk back, too. he always caves, if only for the chance to spend more time with you away from your four other roommates and the chaos they bring wherever they go.

he thinks about what it might feel like to hold your hand across the table at breakfast on a friday morning, when you’re both a little hungover and you’re dozing off in the restaurant booth even though you’re halfway through your second cup of coffee. ‘i’m just resting my eyes,’ you’d protest, ‘while i enjoy being here.’

what he’d give to have you enjoy him, he thinks, is endless.

almost everyone else is inside because it’s way too cold out at this point, even with the thick fleece of his club volleyball jacket over his shoulders. you must be freezing, and he thinks about going inside where talking would be warmer, but he hesitates because of your roommate’s choice in loud party music. he hears the faint hum of its beat from the living room that you two will probably get stuck cleaning tomorrow, like you always do, when you inevitably wake up hours before everyone else. alone, with you, with no one else around to embarrass himself in front of, he almost feels ready to take a chance.

but then, like in most things, you end up being braver than him.

when you kiss him, every shared memory with you flashes before chikara’s eyes. every time you dragged him to the grocery store because you hate going alone, all the trips to the mall after class, every class you signed both of you up for because “we both need to take it anyway”, every night he waits to walk you home, every time you bring him a second cup of coffee after his 8 AM class, all the hours you’ve studied together—

suddenly, his whole universe makes sense, and he decides that he never wants this to end. he melts into you and one of his hands grabs your drink to move it out of the way before he pulls you against him, both of you in the awkward place between sitting and kneeling in the cold grass. then, he finds the familiar curve of your waist, familiar from the times you asked him to be your date to your club’s formals instead of any of your other friends and then made him dance with you. when you shine brighter than anyone else in the room and prattle on about the correct temperature to eat steak, about all the accomplishments your club achieved throughout the year, about all the things in the world that makes him think you’re the most beautiful person to ever live.

he wanted to kiss you then, under the low light of a hotel ballroom, and he’s kissing you now, under the dollar-store lights that you rushed to help him hang up after your last class. he’s so caught up in the moment that he almost forgets to live through it, but your hands on his shoulders ground him and bring him back from outer space.

leaning back and pulling you with him, his head brushes against the tree, hair catching on the edge of your first initial, and he remembers the way you looked at him after he added his right next to yours with the pocket knife your roommate inexplicably carries. that smile – your smile – finds its way into his thoughts even when he doesn’t mean for it to happen, and he can name a dozen ways to make you happy without thinking about it. coffee, dinner, movies, walks on campus, all simple things that he’s happy to fill your life with as long as you’d like to stay in his.

with you crowded clumsily in his lap, he remembers how your thigh feels pressed against his when you watch movies together on his bed, not in it, because he would never. he knows your favorite genres, your favorite actors, even your favorite themes and tropes so he can surprise you with two solid hours of entertainment that match exactly how you’re feeling. you’ve got him metaphorically wrapped around you in the exact same way that you’re physically wrapped around him right now. only, this time, your thighs cage his in, and you’re almost wrapped around his hips, and the feeling of you so close to him makes him dizzy.

“i think i’m in love with you,” is whispered into the night air after one of you pulls away. two voices, all at once, lips moving against each other as you both say what you’ve been longing to vocalize at the same time. it feels so clear and serendipitous, so right and true, that he finally lets himself believe what his heart has been telling him all along.

emboldened, he reaches out to grab the feeling before the wind can blow it away. he grasps you by the back of the head with a quiet sort of direction that’s strong and sweet as he pulls you back to him. you let yourself fall against his chest, kissing him again with open mouths and alcohol on your breath. his fingers are cool on the back of your neck, sending a chill down your spine that compounds with the warmth and softness of his lips that feel like a dream come true.

when he feels how cold your skin is, when his fingers meet the goosebumps on your arms, he forces himself to pull away with a gentle nudge to your shoulder. and, while your chest rises and falls to try and reclaim the breaths he stole from you, he says, “don’t you want to go inside?”

“but you’re out here,” you complain, and both of you stare at each other before he sighs at you.

“sorry, are you flirting with me? if that’s your best, you suck at this,” he teases dryly, pausing only for half a second before he reaches to help you stand, positioning himself to shield you from the wind.

“i’d like to see you do better,” you huff. your hand reaches for his and you pull him with interlocked fingers toward the door before he stops abruptly ahead of it where the music meets the outdoor air and pulses around you.

“i will,” he says, suddenly more serious as he leans to kiss you again. you feel like he dreamed you would – no, you feel better than he dreamed, and he doesn’t know how he wound up at this moment, but he swears that he’ll make this one and every one that comes next worth it.

It’s annoying, discouraging, and also sorta stressful. From a personal experience, my f/o was so popular that I kept seeing stuff of her being shipped with X, Y, and Z even after I blocked the tags. So I guess what I wanna say to anon and anyone else who has a non popular f/o, is to embrace it! Embrace having a non popular f/o with a small amount of content. Maybe you could make your own stuff that could just be for you and your f/o! Another thing I wanna say, is that I’m not quite saying to give up on your f/o, but if you feel your f/o is overwhelmingly popular, there’s nothing wrong with taking a step back and finding a new f/o weather to replace the 1st f/o or to add one.

i agree, if it genuinely brings you stress having to constantly see canon/canon, other selfships, etc. then by all means distance yourself if you need to (tho that being said, quietly block anyone if needed. prioritise your comfort.) , of course dropping them feels like a last resort if it negatively affects your mental health , but taking a step back is sensible !

but also , as someone who struggles to let myself openly ship with characters i love just because they're popular both amongst selfshippers and in fandom (and x canon naturally) , i feel it's good to have support from friends !

remember to support your friends, and hey, if they aren't comfortable with canon/canon of their f/o then you could always support them by looking for fan content on their behalf! ^^

i think my main point here is, don't put an f/o on the back burner just because they're popular - remember to love who you love , just take steps needed to keep yourself comfy !! ♡

I’m the one who asked for Osamu for $12 and that was perfect! I’m usually all about messing with Atsumu but seeing Osamu becoming a very pretty mess is chef’s kiss! Kind of want to bully Osamu now…

It’s crazy how there was one weekend where I saw many writers I follow gosh over Sachiro and it’s only you and one other writer I follow that mention him now. But it’s okay! We gotta hype of underrated Haikyuu men. Wah! I meant to pick him but I hope someone else picked him. I’m such a sucker for brown haired guys (Says the girl who has a selfship with Atsumu) 😩

I'm glad you've enjoyed it! There's a few I feel I could have poured a little more into, or have done a better job articulating in thirsts. But as a whole this event has been very enjoyable even with the quantity it's brought in. I certainly have enough for a few weekends of writing so I'm thankful for that 😂

And I actually napped today! I don't think I've napped since my son was...maybe two months old? Too be fair Rae and I got real fucked up last night then proceeded to wake up at 6 am so a nap was in order 😂 I hope you've spent a weekend taking care of yourself as well hun!
