Dear gyns, I'm here to share some despair.

If you've followed me for a while, you'll know that a few months ago, I've injured my neck, and had very limited movement from then on - I can't walk for longer than 15 minutes, I can't run, can't lift anything heavy, can't sit for a long time, I can't even sleep with a pillow, I have to lie down on a flat surface. I injured my neck by falling off a tree, and then carrying heavy loads of chestnuts, or at least that's where the pain began.

I've had a CT and it showed very minimal results, and I had to wait for 2 months to get seen by a specialist - and this exam was today. The woman asked me a lot of questions, some of them personal, about my family, employment, living situation - and checked if I could move my neck in all directions, which I could. It was continuous activity that would trigger my pain.

And then she decided that the pain was from psychological cause and told me to go a psychiatrist. I was stunned and barely managed to hold back tears.

She wrote her own opinion which included 'unmarried', like it was a symptom of psychological illness, and told me to ask psychiatric help. I rebelled and tried to explain, that I already do experience psychosomatic pain, but this is different, it's caused by movement, I can feel it while walking. Then she said she would, just in case, let me take a MRI, but she's confident it wouldn't show a thing, and then I should go and seek psychiatric help.

I'm now worried to death that the MRI would show nothing, and I would be left in this pain all to myself. I don't know what is wrong, I don't know why my neck hurts this bad, but it's a world away from other psychosomatic pain I experience (which is, pain in all my muscles and back, pain in my joints, and it goes away when my psychological state is good! On good days I can be fine! Neck pain does not correlate with my psychological state, but with movements, impact to my body. I am not fine on a good day.).

If I could get appropriate psychiatric help, I would, and if it would resolve the injury pain, I'd do it in a heartbeat, but there's nobody in this country who would diagnose me with ptsd or other disorders I have, they're not believed to be true disorders for women yet. I'm scared and don't know how to proceed. I'll get the MRI, but if it shows nothing, and my pain is still there, do I just live like this? Without being able to take a walk, or lift a bag of flour? Without running, or roaming the forests, without being able to carry water to the garden?

I am falling depressed, this is more than I can deal with.

got a perfect score on my animated short film!!!!!!!!!!! (unless my film teacher lied to me)

#talks #it was one of the only two animated films in the class & i think that left a good impression #i'm so hyped. the first score i got at uni and it's a perfect score. we are so back #well he didn't write it down or anything he just came up to me and told me that in person after the seminar but LES GOOO #especially after those two entrance exams that kind of ruined my confidence #i really hope i can post it on here because i worked on nothing else for an entire month!! but i'll have to wait until after the exhibition

ayo my birthday is coming up next month in a couple weeks NEXT WEEK 🎉 ✨ TODAY ✨ and I would like to handle some stuff I've been going without for a long time, and maybe also get a video game on top of that if possible.

priority list is:

new eye exam and glasses (current ones are damaged, hard to see with, and give me headaches)

renew license since that expires on my birthday

gender-related name change and birth certificate update (trying to hustle before florida makes that shit impossible)

wearable things and cushions to help with pain, mostly spine related

shoes that fit correctly and aren't winter boots

new game

it would be nice to have at least a couple of these acquired or at least started before my birthday, and since my little monthly gigs have ended and I still haven't been able to get another job, it's not the kind of thing I could do without help. so, if you feel so inclined:

Reader got Hurt Because of Farah

I think that, although Farah is a very reasonable person and always uses her head instead of her heart, you getting hurt would be one of the few times where she would act out of emotions rather than rational thought. She can’t usually afford such a thing, no matter how distressed she may be, so it basically never happens. But the person who hurt you will come to regret ever getting close to you. She won’t go after them guns blazing, no, she’s way too smart for that. But that person will be dealt with, either immediately or after a while. Farah doesn’t forget, her memory is far too good for that. If she can see your attackers face, good. That way she can either immediately go after them or track them down by memory alone. But if she can’t see it then she’ll spare no expense in finding out who it may have been. It might take a while, but she’ll get her revenge. In fact, you getting hurt would be another big reason for her to fight her war for peace, because in her ideal world, no one gets hurt. Not you, not her brothers or sisters. However, whoever hurt you won’t live to see such a utopia. Farah won’t torture them, but she’ll make quick work of whoever they may be so that they won’t hurt anyone else near and dear to her. But of course, all of this goes once she’s certain you’re alright. Farah will call the best medics she has to make sure you’ll make it, that you’ll end up in as little pain as possible during your recovery. She won’t particularly have the time to be by your side throughout it all, but she’ll come visit you whenever she can, maybe even bringing you a recovery gift or two in the process. Always has someone check up on you. Someone she trusts will come in every once in a while and ask you how you’re doing to give her a report on your status. Yes, she may be on the frontlines fighting a war, but she always needs to know how you’re doing or else she’ll get even more nervous than she should be.
