Ghoul School
Tumblr media
prompt: you, Lucky, Phoebe, Trevor, and Lars go to investigate a spirit infested school, but ends badly for you.
Ummm basically enemies to lovers?? idrk tbh LOL
warnings: idk scary stuff? cussing! sexual tension! um you smoke 1 cigarette and thats it. GORE!!!!!!!
a/n: I’ve been thinking of this since I saw the movie…
*THIS IS A SUPER LONG STORY!!!*
“A school? Are you serious, Lars?” You mutter, running a hand down your face and sighing.
“I wish. What’s your grudge against a school anyway?” Lars said, cocking an eyebrow at you as he turned to look at you.
“Well I don’t know, maybe it’s the fact that kids still go there. It makes me sick how they have to experience that while being in an environment where it’s supposed to be safe and welcoming.” You explain, tapping your fingers nervously on your desk. Behind you, Lars sighed,
“Well that’s why we’re going innit? So stop worrying about it so much.” You snapped your head when heard the door open. In trudged a slime covered Trevor, Lucky, and Phoebe.
“Lars, I need your help with something!” Lucky called. Lars stood and strode to her, his eyes lingered on you for a little longer than they should’ve. Trevor had a proton pack on his back, which was slightly smoking from the interior.
"Piece of shit only fizzed when we tried to turn it on, know a way to fix it?" Trevor asked, gazing up at Lars. Lars' face was stone cold, probably because he had to deal with the dumb shit Trevor stirred up.
"First off, it's not a piece of shit. Second off, did you even try to figure it out?" Lars scoffed, eyebrows drawn together in a scowl.
"Give it to me, I'll see what I can do." He sighed, obviously not wanting to deal with him anymore. Trevor basically shoved the proton pack into Lars’ arms, which didn't waiver when he received it. Hot. You thought. Lars trudged to his station and set the proton pack down. He removed the protective covering, and coughed when smoke blasted in his face. You snickered, which earned an unimpressed glare from him. Lucky appeared beside you, ready to talk about what else you've come up with her to test.
"What is it?" She asked, tinkering with the item on the desk.
"You know how there's buckshot for a shotgun? I've figured out how to compress protons into little pellets and create a buckshot-type stream." You explained, showing her how it would work on a sheet of paper. You heard Lars muttering about something, though you brushed it off. You handed Lucky a few pellets, which contained about 12 rounds of buckshot each. She eagerly shot off into the test room, excited to try it out. With nothing else to do, you shuffled behind Lars, peering over his shoulder to watch his hands work efficiently. Lars really didn't know you were there, truly he didn't. So when he turned around to go get something from his desk, he jumped back.
"Good Christ you scared the shit out of me!" Lars exclaimed, putting a hand on his chest and letting out a big sigh. He shoved his glasses back up his face and ran a hand through his hair.
"I'm sorry! I just wanted to watch you work..." You trailed off, staring at the ground in embarrassment.
"Well maybe next time maybe fucking keep to yourself." He snapped, brushing past you, his hand grazing yours. You just stood there, hands clenched and cheeks burning in embarrassment. Phoebe stood next to you, putting a hand on your arm and whispering,
"It's ok, really, he doesn't mean it."
You couldn't help the tear that slithered down your cheek. Blinking away the rest of the tears, you muttered an 'excuse me' and walked outside of the lab. Taking a left, you headed through the doors to the cool breeze outside. Stuffing your hand in you pocket, your hand found purchase on the cig case you had. Sliding one out of it and grabbing your lighter, you lit the cig up and shoved the lighter back into your left pocket. You sat against the wall and pulled your knees to your chest. Hearing the doors open, you see Trevor walk out. He spots you and slides down the wall, sitting next to you.
"It's not your fault. It really isn't." Trevor offered, watching you let out a sigh, smoke going with it. You laugh, dragging a hand down your face.
"Listen, don't ever fall in love, man. Shit sucks." You sighed, resting your head against the cool brick. Trevor started to say something but the rest of the three burst through the doors. Lars was wearing his red jacket, walking towards the car. Lucky was carrying yours in her arm, right on the heels of Lars. He spotted you and Trevor sitting down against the wall. Trevor hopped up, offering you a kind hand. You took it, cigarette still in hand.
"Put that shit out." Lars commanded, crossing his arms. You glared at him before taking a long drag and blowing the smoke out. You dropped the rest on the ground, twisting your foot against it which successfully put it out.
"Happy?" You huffed, throwing your arms out in surrender. He just stared at you before pushing past you to get to the car. 'Bitch' You mutter under your breath. God he’s insufferable. Following them, you hopped into the passage seat. Lucky handed you your red jacket, which you put on before you buckled up. You zipped it up all the way burying your face in the collar. Lars watched you from his peripheral, drumming his fingers on the wheel.
“Are gonna stare or drive the goddamn car?” You snapped, turning to gaze at him. His hand tightened on the wheel and started to drive.
To say that Lars was a good driver was a pretty big overstatement. You were even lucky you made it to the school alive, much less in once piece.
“You are never ever driving again, Lars.” You said, stumbling out of the car as a wave of nausea hits you.
“Stuff it.” He replied, pushing up his broken glasses. You turned your gaze to the school, which stood ominously in the distance. You shivered, which didn’t go unnoticed by Lars. He took a small step closer to you, his hand ghosting the small of your back. You jumped slightly at his feather touch, but relished it. Lars flicked on your switch, making your proton pack hum with the familiar ‘whirring’ sound. You walked to the front steps, pushing open the two massive double wooden doors. You were blasted by a cold air, which you stumbled back from.
“S-shit.” You muttered, hands shaking ever so slightly. You reached for your flashlight, but froze when you saw a shadow figure dart through the darkness.
“Lars.” You whispered, a lump forming in your throat. Lars was off busy helping the others get their packs on, which meant you were the only one at the front. You felt something tugging you forward. You stumbled back into the school following the tugging sensation to a room downstairs.
Lars looked up, about to ask you something, when he noticed you were gone.
“Where the bloody hell did Y/N go?” He asked, looking around. His question was answered when he heard your frantic screams coming from inside of the building. They all looked at each other, then bolted to the building.
The building was absolutely freezing. That you were certain of. The frigid temperature fucked a little with your head, at least that’s what you can conclude. You found that being able to see in the dark was not your forte, which caused you to fall down a flight of stairs.
“OH FUCKING SHIT—!” You screech, tumbling down the stairs. You landed with your head cracking against the cold floor. Groaning, you tried to lift your head, but you felt like you were spinning like a top. You eventually stood, swaying slightly after. You blinked a few times, holding your head in your hands. In the corner of your eye, you could see another shadow figure. It was tall, tall enough to reach the ceiling. It started to approach you, but you let out a scream, starting to run back up the stairs. You felt a push, then you tumbled back down the stairs, smashing your head into the pavement again. You landed on your knee, successfully snapping the bone in your shin. You let out another bloodcurdling scream, spitting out blood in the process.
You felt lightheaded as blood spilled from your shin and lips, dribbling down your chin and neck. You were in too much pain to cry as you crumpled to the floor again. You heard all three of them yelling your name, but you couldn’t yell back. Instead, you pulled yourself across the floor, leaving a long streak of blood as you went. With as much effort as you could muster, you pulled yourself to the steps. It took everything for you to scream,
“LARS!!!”
Footsteps could be heard, which sounded like heavy boots clomping towards you. You clawed at the steps, trying to grip anything that you could to pull yourself up. The blond man appeared in the doorway, shining a flashlight down the stairwell. Lars hair was tousled, eyes wide. You make out how he was panting, as well as a horrified look painted across his face.
“oh my god.” Was all he said. He rushed down the stairwell to get you. You couldn’t make out much of anything, you kept fading in and out of consciousness. His hands, his strong and elegant hands held your face as he tried to keep you awake. Your breaths became labored again as you felt extreme pain rippling through your limbs. You let out another scream, which was muffled by Lars chest as he picked you up and started to rush you outside. One of his hands found purchase in your hair, gently stroking it with his thumb as he ran to the car.
Lars felt like it took years to make it to the hospital. His red jacket was drenched in your blood, but he couldn’t care less about what he looked like as he rushed you into the ER. Immediately after, you were rushed into a room, where you would reside for God knows how long. Lars sat next to Lucky, his face grim. He didn’t care how long he had to wait to see you again, just as long as he could see you. Lars stayed there all night, into the morning to be able to see you. When they told him that he could see you, he ran to your room as fast as he could. There you laid, eyes closed, face peaceful. When you heard the footsteps, you opened your eyes and found the blond man standing in your doorway.
“Bloody hell, I thought I’d never see you again.” Lars breathed as he approached your right side. Your hand lay limp on the top of the bedsheet. He brought up a chair and sat, taking your hand and lacing his fingers with yours.
“I was so scared that you were going to die, I couldn’t bear to see it.” He further explained. You smiled weakly and croaked,
“Are you being nice right now? That’s so unlike you Lars.”
Before you said anything else, Lars pressed a kiss to your lips. It wasn’t your ideal first kiss with him, but you relished the feeling.
“I didn’t save you because I thought it was the good thing to do, I saved you because I love you.” Lars whispered, his nose brushing yours.
“God I love you too, Lars.” You whispered back.

do you have any tips for commissioning art of yourself/self-adjacent characters?
it's something i've wanted to do but i always get nervous, and i don't know whether to send a selfie or a picrew or a doodle of myself or what, and i've noticed that you seem to do it a lot so i figured you're probably pretty knowlegable on the subject.
first and most importantly: don't ever be embarrassed when commissioning something benign, because i can tell you with certainty that whatever artist you're going to contact has FOR SURE been contacted by someone way less self conscious than you with a way more embarrassing idea. depending on WHO you commission there's a non-zero chance they've drawn some wacko fetishes before. youve got nothing to fear.
now, in terms of actually putting it together: truth be told, it was easy for me to jumpstart the process because i worked with an artist to come up with a design in the first place, so by the time i started sending out commissions i already had a sona-fied version of myself to send.
that said, you can absolutely create a shitty ref in MS-Paint and, so long as it's clear what you were TRYING to draw, that will be enough. you don't have to draw each detail to perfection, you just need to get down the most IMPORTANT details. things like the shape of the hair and face, the width and height of the body, and then any accessories you want to add on to represent you.
another great tactic is to create a collage that represents how you want your commission to look! here's the most recent piece i commissioned vs the collage i included with my written description!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
in the collage you can include poses, environments, clothing, or even characters that have the same vibe that you're trying to go for!
hope this made sense, and best of luck 0:^]

Chapter 1: Only You in the Full Moon Night
Tumblr media
Fourteen months. That's how long we've been waiting. And in less than two minutes, Aof made it clear that our patience was absolutely going to be rewarded. The long take sequence that introduces us to the Moonlight Chicken Diner and the denizens thereof is probably one of the best openings I've seen in all of television. And as the episode went on, it became clearer and clearer that we are watching Aof evolve in real time. By the time you get to the closing shot of Jim and Wen framed in the doorway of the diner, under the 'moon' of that lantern, you've been on a journey and you're ready to go on another one. This episode is the most assured work we have ever seen from Aof. There was not a wasted moment, not an extraneous shot; every single frame of this episode was absolutely intentional. The characters are richly drawn and organically introduced, and every single actor is bringing their A-game, from stars to supporters to background.
Tumblr media
There are things I need to say about the sequence of Jim and Wen going from total strangers to hopping into bed together because my GOD. From the moment they locked eyes the energy was sizzling between them, and the conclusion was foregone: there was no way that night wasn't ending with those two in a sweaty tangle. And the way that was acted, with Jim becoming more playful and Wen becoming more seductive as the night went on; the way it was filmed, with the red and blue lighting and the handheld camera getting close up, putting the audience right into the moment; the sexual tension was palpable. By the time Wen bites Jim's ear, you almost want the release as much as they do. And I LOVE that they didn't kiss at all during their encounter, because that feels totally realistic. This isn't a love affair...yet.
Tumblr media
On the side of young love, Heart and Li Ming's first encounter is almost the opposite of Jim and Wen's, in that it's immediately antagonistic. As much as Jim and Wen almost instantly understand each other, Heart and Li Ming don't understand each other at all. And whereas Jim and Wen start close and get closer by episode's end, Heart and Li Ming start far apart and by the end of the episode they're even further apart. I was worried that with Fourth and Gemini's inexperience, their characters here would be too similar to their My School President characters, but I should have known to trust Aof when it comes to casting. Heart and Li Ming are NOT Tinn and Gun, and the work that Fourth and Gemini are putting in here so far is quite good, Fourth especially.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Setting the story against the backdrop of the pandemic-induced economic crisis grounds the narrative and the characters in a specificity that I have found to be a hallmark of the best stories. I've said this so much at this point, but I Told Sunset About You continues to impact the Thai media landscape, and especially the Thai queer media landscape in lots of positive ways, by encouraging more directors to bring the Thai sociopolitical environment and Thai cultural aesthetics into their work. Making Pattaya integral to the rhythms and aesthetics of this story in the same way that Phuket was integral to the rhythms and aesthetics of ITSAY is so key to making the show stand out.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Not having Alan appear in this episode at all, just having him represented by artefacts: the terse note, the phone charger, Gong relaying his 'unread' message, was incredibly effective. Alan and his relevance to Wen's life at this point is defined from the very first by his absence.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Saleng and Gaipa round out the cast of main characters we were introduced to in this episode, with only Praew (and Alan) left to appear onscreen. They don't get much this episode, but they make it count, with hints of the roles they'll play in the narrative peppered into their scenes. Saleng especially is an interesting one, as it seems like Jim acquired his employment along with the diner, which is an uncommon enough arrangement to be noteworthy. It also looks like everybody is aware of Gaipa's feelings for Jim, including Jim, which tells us a lot.
Tumblr media
All in all, this first episode gave us a lot, without feeling like a lot. It was so deftly done in the writing and direction, and so organic in the acting, that the overwhelming feeling is one of having spent an hour living a slice of real Pattaya life, not watching a fictional story. I'm so ready to spend 4 weeks living in this universe with these characters, and I'm already sad that I will have to leave them at the end.
Side Dishes
Mix Sahaphap is probably the sultriest actor in the GMMTV stable, and he's so perfect for this role because Wen is a walking, talking sex bomb and he knows it. The way he uses his eyes...lethal.
The actress playing Gaipa's mother, Narinthorn Na Bangchang, is playing such a perfect market vendor, it's reminding me of how similar we really are across the global south.
I can already feel Heart and Li Ming wrecking me and this only JUST started. Fourth and Gemini are really something special.
Mark Pakin is GMMTV's sixth man, he can come off the bench and play literally ANY kind of supporting character they need. That is MVP level shit.
This show looks SO GOOD, it sounds SO GOOD, production and direction teams put their foot in this one.
Watching Aof work handheld is a fucking DREAM. He's such a workmanlike director, he prefers to focus on pulling emotional truths out of his actors rather than high style photography. But his cast here being so good means he doesn't need to spend the majority of his directing energy on his actors, and he can experiment more with style. The opening sequence in the diner, and Jim and Wen's walk from the diner to the car, these are the kind of things he's never been able to focus on before, and now that he can it's SUCH a visual treat.

hi ^^ I was wondering if you have any resources or miscellaneous methods of communication? everything I've tried so far regarding internal communication has just drawn up a blank and my system only switches like once every 2 years in an completely unpredictable pattern so external communication is absolutely hopeless and I'm getting frustrated
Hmm, well, unfortunately, I don't know what methods you have or haven't tried, so please excuse if this isn't that helpful! I'm kind of taking shots in the dark, haha.
Anywho, here's a brief list of things we personally find helpful for switching:
Closing our eyes, deep breaths (preferably sitting or laying down while completely relaxed), and letting your mind wander/dissociate without pulling it in any specific direction. Usually we'll either switch or have someone pop in nearby.
Visualizing letting go of the front. For us, that's usually imagining you're in the driver's seat of a car and you're releasing your grip of the steering wheel.
Alright, this one might sound a bit weird, and it might not help anyone besides us. But regardless... if we know what the person who's trying to switch looks like, visualizing "becoming" them helps (growing hair, feeling phantom nonhuman body parts such as wings, etc.). Again, it's a bit odd, but maybe someone out there will make use of it.
Try doing something they like! We're a very music-based system, so a good half of us have songs as fronting triggers, though this works for just about anything.
If absolutely nothing else is working, mentally saying the name of your headmate over and over until they front does the trick in most cases. (Fair warning, this has a high chance of annoying them or worse, so please get their consent first if at all possible).
And here's a list for communication:
The aforementioned "laying down for a bit and doing nothing" method doubles as a way to listen closely to see if you notice anyone else's thoughts floating around.
Journaling. It could be your own personal journal, a collective journal, or a combination of both. Paper is obviously an option. However, your phone is probably more convenient. I highly recommend checking out writelighthouse.com, which is made for plurals.
Making sure you're allowing time and space for the rest of your collective to feel comfortable. Find time to unwind, read a book, set down electronics for an hour or two. Let them know this is a safe environment to show themselves.
Try "tuning in" to yourself more; do you feel any unfamiliar food cravings? An urge to watch a particular show? That might be a headmate's passive influence that you weren't previously aware of. (And, honestly, even if it isn't a headmate, it's probably ok to indulge yourself in random things you want from time to time.)
If you only have a way to talk to one headmate, sometimes they can act as a messenger to others in the system. This is especially useful in situations where you can't access certain areas of your innerworld, but someone else can.
Sorry this is so long! I hope any of it can be of aid in the future... you're absolutely free to contact us again for any reason! /gen

Here's a query for YOU: who do you think Lynette befriends first outside Guna and Mist in Kardia? And who does she befriend first of HER own volition?
I love this ask so much you don't even know.
Tumblr media
For some clarity; for most Rune Factory games, when it comes to their protagonists and the possible love interests, I usually headcanon their ages as older than the game(s) hint at them being. So keep that in mind, and maybe add between 5 to 8 to even 10 years to your headcanon age. [I won't name any numbers, and that'll just lock me into my own math.] But treat these folks as their prime adult selves after the events of the first game, not ""kids""~
Mist is obviously the "friend whether (you) like it or not." Raguna is roped in by that genuine, adorable charm and Lynette would fall for it, too. Look at her, a second person so ready to extend care and forgiveness... And Lynn will just have to accept it and begin to move on into her new life. It's the easier choice. Better than feeling so goddamn sorry for herself (or worse, as we saw the lengths Ethelbard was pushing her to). Even if it feels strange being in such a tight knit and supportive environment, and even if she'll look for cracks that prove it's all a lie.
After Mist, though, once she forces herself to try and live in a new place...
Lara and Tabatha and Jasper wind up becoming nice to talk to.
[ With a bonus of Sabrina and Godwin, with the questions of Newmann and Felicity. ]
Lara likely puts up a furious air at first, How many people could have been hurt, how many HAD as those stupid things were put around town... (Not to mention those RUMORS that spread about how Raguna lost his memory....) but quickly comes to realize that Lynette was involved, but not solely, entirely responsible. Not to mention she sees Lyn as someone who is... Tired. Dragging themselves through every day. Lara gives a deep sigh. So. She aids this new member of the town under the promise that Lynette helps others as she tries to help herself. While those medical visits become less and less, both women can't help but cross the street and seek one another out to talk. They may not have much in common when it comes to interests or tastes, but. It's nice. Sometimes you don't need all that. A connection can just be there.
Tabatha and Jasper feel like easy conversation. Both are used to more sharp natured persons, so they wouldn't be offended. And both don't put stock in local prejudices, political lines, and the nonsense of governing bodies (Jasper with his ties to the Sainte-Coquille business affairs, and Tabatha connected to that+comparing to her original home). I feel like both would be very quick to see past where Lynette is from, and her previous "occupation."
Jasper is such a kind and happy fellow. I could see him just wanting to know about what it was like as a person in Sechs Aristocracy, if it's similar to what he's heard from x, y, z.... Asking Lyn about her life, not job, probably helps break some ice. Maybe Lynette gets to gossip about petty, tiny things that she hadn't gotten to enjoy before. And how about that line of meats from those critters native to the heart of the empire...? Oh Jasper NEEDS some of those cuts- marinated in a very specific way, Lynette swears on her life (and it's just a joke this time).
And Tabatha? She's so calm. So soothing. She won't force Lyn to talk, but will listen when the other dares to break the silence. She seems to know how to enter a conversation and could find the perfect, small gift to make someone's day. I've drawn Lynette before in alternate clothing before so she's not in her military gear, and I stand firm that Tabatha made that set. They're good for the local weather, they're made of comfortable, fine material... and it's got to feel better not being in something that made Lynette stand out so much.
Bonus in Sabrina and Godwin, who are names that wouldn't leave me alone when thinking about this.
Godwinnn. He's skeptical and rightfully so, but as everything calms down, he has to take a chance. It's either hold that grudge and be retaliatory forever, which would strongly influence those looking at him for his decision, or choose to trust this person and get back to some semblance of older life. He prefers the peace of the latter, and is rewarded- especially when she does find her own pattern in the town. In fact, he's able to, well, "forget" about her, in a good way. She's a face he'll greet with an "Oh-! Didn't know you were coming, how are things?" since he doesn't hear much about her. But it's a positive feeling. A hearty greeting. Not just a nod and a walk past.
(She has to be brought up in tangent given our affinity for her, as well, but Felicity was watching that decision- and she's. It's not that she didn't support the decision, and she doesn't think it was the wrong choice... but Felicity's going to need to see some effort and proof. This is a risk. Like Lara, but a deeper rooted feeling. Stronger if she's paired with Raguna, as she'd hear those rumors, and be disgusted by them. But she could be won over, if more slowly, as her patient FP/LP mechanic implies.)
I feel like, for some reason, Newmann would keep some distance, questioning Godwin's decision, while Sabrina would be able to immediately see this new townsperson means no harm. Sabrina keeps an open seat at the bar and the restaurant and could act as a conversation or a buffer- detract attention from some of those who haven't yet become comfortable with their new neighbor. Sabrina doesn't care for bullshit, and she's got a good example to set for her son. I almost wish Lynette were a jump older still, as these two could've been a fun freaking dynamic!
Double bonus; Ivan hates the living daylights out of her and there is absolutely no recovery, due to my headcanon of him having witnessed Raguna's abduction before his memory loss. Lynette also knows who Ivan really is, she'd done her research. This is a pact to act civil among civil people. That's it.
I know I've joked about not absolutely adoring RF4's characters as much as most people, but one thing it did that I appreciate was those conversations you could trigger if multiple towns people are standing near one another in a scene/on a holiday/etc. It'd be fun to get others talking not to Raguna, but to each other, to hear what they'd think. Early game, invasion time, post game...
RF1s. Please. I'm begging you.

A03 Questions Tag Game
I got tagged by @coffincrows
I tag: @theroyalspiderart and well, anyone who wants to do this (my mind has drawn a blank)
1 – How many works do you have on AO3?
Okay, so, I actually have two ao3 accounts. One I don't use anymore and one I do currently. So I'm gonna count both of them
In total, it's at least 41. (14 on my current account, 24 on the old one, and there's 3 fics I've written that have since been orphaned that I remember having written)
2 – What's your total AO3 word count?
Roughly 150,549, but that's only from the unorphaned works, so it's gonna be a few thousand more, probably more like 152-155k
3 – What fandoms do you write for?
Currently just cotl, but I've written for a bunch of fandoms over the years, like mcyt, tgcf, mha, and a couple other fandoms, although those are the ones I've posted to ao3. Wattpad, where I started tho? Lot more lmao
4 – What are your top five fics by kudos?
I plead the fifth
5 – Do you respond to comments?
Yes!! I try to respond to every single comment I get, I appreciate and love my commenters so much <3
6 – What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I don't remember the name of it, but it was a fic from my old account. I typically don't do angsty endings, so it's rare for me to do
7 – What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Pretty much all of them aldhsha except a few with more ambiguous endings (sorry I'm being so vague)
8 – Do you get hate on fics?
Not that I've seen, no.
9 – Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I've written smut like. 4-5 times in my life (default poses in asexual), and only 2 of them are published to ao3. I have NO CLUE what "kind" of smut it is, but people on both works have described it as "tender" so ig that'll work
10 – Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
I do nawt like crossovers much, so I don't write them. Closest I do is aus based off or set in another media's universe, but there's no character meetups
11 – Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I hope not! I have no clue tho
12 – Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes! My biggest fic on my old account has been translated a least once or twice (with my permission)
13 – Have you ever co-written a fic?
Not on ao3, no, but I'd like to try it again one day
14 – What's your all-time favorite ship?
Hmmmmmmm. Idk actually, my favorites shift with time. Currently it's narilamb, but it was ineffable husbands a few months ago. We'll see how it changes again in the future
15 – What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Got a couple wips for good omens and mtp but idk if I'll ever finish them, they be sitting
16 – What are your writing strengths?
I've been told my characterizations have been a strong point while reading, but I wouldn't count that as a WRITING strength. I think, to me, my writing strength is setting up an environment
17 – What are your writing weaknesses?
Pacing and endings. I struggle with them every single time.
18 – Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I love it! I wish wish I knew more than English so I'd be comfy doing it myself (bc relying on online translators doesn't seem like a good idea slshs)
19 – First fandom you wrote for?
On ao3? I think mha?? Not sure I must have started posting ao3 fics over 5 years ago at this point (first fandom I wrote for period? Creepypasta fandom, on quotev.)
20 – Favorite fic you've written?
As of rn, maybe "of Harvest, of Celebration, and of Rest". I was so proud of it when I finished, and I love it :]

thank you for saying what you did on that last ask about the fandom babying lando. this is not meant disrespectfully and is not aimed at that anon, it's meant in a general sense, but i wish people would stop doing it & projecting the image of this insecure, helpless, needy young boy on him. even from the little we see of him on screen & social media and not personally knowing him at all, it's obvious he is not those things and that he has a core of steel in there - they all have, however nice they may be, or they wouldn't survive in f1. for instance from things daniel has said in recent interviews, one of the things that has done him over this year & put him out of the sport is the mental side of things for him just as much as his physical struggles with the mclaren car. some fans really underestimate just how mentally tough & self-sufficient these guys have to be to do what they do, even though they have support teams around them (like lando has john & mark b & his parents).
lando is not a child, he's a grown ass man who is succeeding & thriving at the top of one of the most ruthless sporting environments in existence. even when he was shy & anxious by his own admission when he first entered f1, he never came across as someone who NEEDED support from his teammates (doesn't mean he didn't appreciate support they gave but there's a difference). if anyone's support was NEEDED (I use needed loosely), and i'm only going here on things he himself has said on streams & in interviews, it was mclaren giving him a safe environment to grow & be himself and also to talk about & work on his mental health without fear of rejection or ridicule, which anyone who has mental health struggles knows is so important. like most people in the world, he probably does draw a lot from his friendships just like his friends probably draw a lot from him in return - look what max fewtrell has said on streams about how lando is his ride or die & how much lando supported & helped him when fewtrell was at his really low point in the last couple of years. carlos has hinted a few times both last year & this year that he & lando are each other's sounding board in f1 and from the very little we see of it, their friendship appears to be very much mutually supportive. and though we don't know if this is actually the case, for all we know daniel may well have drawn on their friendship/kinship/whatever when things were bad at mclaren for him this season, as most people tend to draw on those immediately around them when times are rough, even if it's just to have a laugh with someone and lighten the load for a little bit.
i find it weird that we have all watched lando quite clearly mature & branch out this year, throwing himself into & publicly sharing new hobbies without giving a shit whether people think he's good at it or not, visibly more confident & comfortable voicing what he wants to say in front of the camera even if he still ties himself in knots or gets himself in trouble at times (his speech about seb on sky after the abu dhabi finale was just wonderful & such a sign of how mature he's becoming) and him very much thriving in the proxy-team leader role at mclaren. and yet some people still view him as a needy insecure child. sorry for the rant, i've been wanting to say this stuff for ages as it's something that really bugs me.
There's not a lot I can add to this but
- Lando is a snippy, sarcastic, elbows out little gremlin now and I love that for him, the comments he's made to shitty interviewers, or said in response to certain comments from other drivers (looking at two in red recently ngl) show he's not there to take bullshit lying down and he's standing up for himself
- Lando speaking up about mental health the way he did, especially as a young male in a high performance sport, was amazing of him and I'm glad he's only been even more encouraged by his fellow drivers doing the same (the way he looked to Seb and Seb gave him that proud little nod as if to say 'we all know you've spoken out about it and that's great')
- His maturity when being asked about his long contract with McLaren, the conviction he has and the dedication to the team even when comments from interviewers have been doubtful - more of him sticking up for himself and his decisions
- His entire interview with Sky and George and Seb, and his little speech when asked about what Seb's done for him and the sport and young drivers - I was so so proud and emotional because he said about needing to find his voice and he is and he's done it on his own, not being babied to it, but he's grown as a person and done it himself
Don't be sorry, I've said I'm always open to lend ears to rants, but it's something I agree on. I may look at him and go "baby, baby boy, he's so cute" but there's the full acknowledgement that he's a grown man (pretty sure I've even spieled before about his evolution from 2019 Lando to now)

🎨 and/or 🎮 for all your ocs :D
🎨 Does your OC have any craft skill, as a hobby or profession? If so which?
🎮 If your OC lives or would live in the modern world, would they like video games? What would be their favorite game?
Chestnut - crafts: she draws, as part of her interest in insects! she starts out replicating what she sees, so that she can label them properly, and graduates onto creating her own fantasy insect species. she has assigned everyone in her family an insectsona as well, and drawn them as their sonas.
games: she'd like games with collection elements in them, like animal crossing or pokemon. i don't know that she'd really pay attention to plot too much, because she'd get so distracted just collecting things in the environment.
Buzzy - crafts: photography!! he reads about it and builds his own camera. he thinks of it more as a science than an art, as he's very interested in the technical aspect of it, but as he gets older he does start to appreciate the aesthetics a bit more.
games: he'd appreciate video games from a distance, but he'd be more adept at puzzle games than anything with action in it. he could probably manage breath of the wild, but he'd be in it for the shrines mainly.
Duunai - crafts: does gardening count as a craft? she follows in artemy's footsteps, and tries to fill in the blanks with isidor's recipes as well. but sometimes doing things with her hands is difficult, because her brain and her hands don't always work together. she'd probably benefit from learning something like knitting, where she has to slow down and be more patient.
games: oh she would love video games. she'd try her hand at all of them. i could see her being a big mortal kombat fan, and a fan of soulslike games. she loves a challenge! and the biggest challenge for her would be getting sucked into things and forgetting to sleep. her untreated adhd era.
Karol - crafts: i'm not sure that i've actually given him any hobbies yet. he's very focused on his work, and i think at first he's got some internalized shit to deal with because he doesn't want to be misgendered by being into anything deemed too "feminine". svetlana would drag him out to art museums and the like, trying to inspire him to get into something.
games: i think the only games he'd be into would be visual novels and text-based choose your own adventure games. he'd enjoy games made in twine, but overall he'd be more interested in studying the gamers than the games themselves.
Svetlana - crafts: she'd be big on arts & crafts because she has got to keep her hands busy! she doesn't even really care if she does them well, she just finds joy and fulfillment in doing them. she's a better musician than she is crafter, but she's made a couple decent scarves in her time. she's got candles in her flat that she's made from scratch and a couple really terrible bowls too.
games: she'd also be interested in studying gamers, but whereas karol would study gaming as a sociological phenomenon, svetlana would study what happens to brain chemistry when people play games. then she'd try a couple games herself and see what happens! she'd play based on recommendations from her friends, but the way she'd pick what order to play in would be based on soundtrack. and she'd probably really enjoy playing pathologic classic.
Frost - crafts: in his actual canon i don't know what he'd do, craft-wise. i don't know that there's anything that he's made with his own hands before. it would probably fix him to pick a craft up. i think when i play around with putting him in the present, though, i make him a tattoo artist with really macabre tastes.
games: he'd also enjoy games that present a challenge. he wouldn't mind tedium in games, as long as it feels like he's actually making progress. he'd also really like classic games and be a big of a snob about it, at least at first. it would take a lot of convincing to get him to play a modern big-budget game. it's not even like he can't afford it, he just would look at the price and think "oh there's no way in hell this game is actually worth it."

A few thoughts/updates on my new comic
-Most of Our Town is Missing is probably going to be the official title
-It's ultimately meant to be a huge exercise in world-building. Kind of a way to info dump while still being entertaining
-Right now I have zero doubts that this is a great idea for the kind of thing I want to do. I've had several other ideas for comics since MEP but they always got too complicated and fizzled out long before I started. The great part about this story is I can actually work those characters and their half-finshed stories into this one.
-It's way more environment driven than character driven like MEP was. There will be way less reoccurring characters, but potentially more characters overall and more varied locations.
-I promised myself the chapters won't be nearly as long. MEP's 20-ish tabloid size pages per chapter is entirely too much. I'm aiming for about 10-15 letter sized pages per chapter. I'm also going to use the quick and dirty art style of One Step Beyond because the line art is always the most time consuming part. It's not my favorite style, but it's way faster.
-Because of this, the whole thing will be much more rapid-fire and visually oriented. Less dialog overall (or more dialogue in each panel) with more emphasis on visuals. MEP was drawn much like a story board, but I'd prefer MOOTIM to look and feel more like a true comic book.
-I've worked out the major plot points of the first few chapters. Now I just have to fill in the gaps.
-There's a 99% chance nothing will be released this year. I like to have a bunch of pages ready to go long before I start posting, so there's still a lot of work to be done before I have anything to show for it.
-I reserved a Tumblr url, but I it will just be for the development blog. I've come to the conclusion Tumblr is an awful place to post comic pages regardless of format, so it will likely just be posted on Comicfury, DA and Neocities.
-Because this comic is meant to be so all-encompassing, it will likely be the last major web comic I ever do. I'm 34 years old and I only see my life getting busier from here, so I don't know if I'll ever have enough time to do this sort of thing again. Granted, this comic may go on for quite a while if I can streamline the process enough, so it could very well last just as long as MEP did (6 years), possibly longer?

1, 3, 12, 17, 18, 19?
1. What’s the fic you're most proud of?
This is a tricky question for me because the reality is that I'm proud of everything I write purely because it was written. If I had to pick, though, I would have to go with By Only a Flicker. It's my only Fullmetal Alchemist fic, but it was the first multichapter I finished.
3. what fic are you emotionally attached to?
Fragile Things, hands down. I put a lot of love into it to try and make it reflect what chronic illness is like.
12. What’s your perfect environment to create/write?
I'll be honest; I do most of my writing on my phone while curled up in bed. I like blankets a lot and arrange my pillows to support my arms. I use my laptop to edit and post, though.
17. What’s the best engagement/interaction/feedback you’ve received from someone who’s read your work?
I've been incredibly blessed with my readers. Seriously, I get really emotional thinking about it because you're all so lovely.
Fragile Things got a lot of really heartfelt responses, so for the answer, you're probably looking for, it would be one of those. I have one screenshotted on my phone from a chronically ill reader thanking me for writing it in a way that felt real to their experiences, so that one is definitely up there.
Honestly, though, I treasure the responses from the random people who read my very first (and frankly, terrible) fanfiction like a decade ago. They encouraged me to keep writing, and without that support, I probably wouldn't have continued.
18. Do you only write when you’re inspired, or do you try and sit down at specific times and write no matter what?
A bit of both! I try to write every day, no matter how much, but I don't force it if it just isn't coming. I have chronic fatigue, so sometimes I can't do much more than lay there and stare at a wall. That said, unless I'm too tired to write, I can usually find inspiration to work on something, even if it isn't what I want to. It's why I have a lot of wips started and abandoned. I throw my thoughts at a wall and see what sticks!
19. If you could write an ideal fic, what would it include?
So much hurt/comfort. I don't like the hurt drawn out too much, especially if it's really graphic torture and such, but I LIVE for the recovery. I mean, seriously, that's my favourite genre. I want people to support each other wholeheartedly, even when things are difficult.
Thank you so much for the ask!

Honestly I'd love to know more about your view on kinks and stuff.
Not in a pervert kind of way. I'm just curious
Hi again if this is the same person as last time!
I'm not quite sure what you mean by my "views on kinks". I'm gonna cover what I think you might have meant in this long post.
Prefacing this with saying that I haven't been lucky enough yet to get irl experience with kinks. There will probably be gaps in my opinions or stuff I flat out am not aware of.
About how I view kinks in general, I obviously don't agree with any of the "kink critical" stuff out there.
Yes, kinks are influenced by external factors, but so are most things you like in life. No, people enjoying their specific power dynamics isn't the evil propagating misogyny and the likes out there. All of those arguments make me think about the video game scare with murders being linked to people owning violent video games. People like thrill or fear or anger or anything you can think of in consensual controlled environments, and there isn't really anything wrong with that.
I really think that misogyny does impact kink communities, tho. I've seen a lot of cishet guys who only see dommes as kink dispensers or who pretend to be doms just to get away with wanting to control women.
BDSM porn is most of the time catastrophically boring, especially the cishet one. Unfortunately, I do think it impacts how some people and online communities exposed to it think of kinks. You see this a lot with women not being the focus of kinkplay when it comes to receiving pleasure and vulvas never being on the forefront in most nsfw material (at most you get some focus on penis in vagina penetration but never anything about the external part of the genitalia really). This is true even in femdom circles as well.
Those issues are quite deeply embedded into anything pornography related in the first place. The industry is terrible, but once again, I'm preaching to the choir here probably, but I'm not anti-porn and props to sex workers. I hope their job gets decriminalized.
Queer stuff is much more comprehensive of femininity. This is especially true with drawn art imo, all of the artists who represent bodies or kinks in an appealing way to me are queer and, most of the time, trans. It makes sense considering the history between the two groups and how being queer makes you think about your own sexuality in depth.
Additional thoughts on this is that I truly despise how kink is talked about in online and irl spaces. It's constantly treated as being a victim of your own self. You see this especially with cnc because a lot of people use it as a coping mechanism it's always a talking point in the "you have to be traumatized to be this way" talks in my experience.
You can only either be a freak of nature or a poor innocent victim to some people and it's frustrating to deal with. It's worse if you're a woman because people can't imagine women in dominant roles and only see them as victims of misogyny.
On a more personal level I really love kinks. I've always known what I was into and I think being more aware of the mental pleasure that comes with sex than your average Joe makes me cool.
I do struggle to get physically attracted to people in general, like I get horny for them and want to fuck them, but I can't find anyone physically attractive despite that, if that makes sense (this is also a reason why I labeled myself as aro btw, and also probably why I don't get crushes). I've enjoyed sexting more than irl sex because of the whole "mind sex" aspect of it that combos nicely with kinks.
I'm not going to share a list of what I'm into or anything, that's really for my partners to know. I know there are obviously fetishes outside of the BDSM spectrum thingy but I don't have anything relevant to say about that, except have fun!

GIVING UP: Hades
Tumblr media
I hate this game. I hate it so much. Bye. FOREVER!
But first, let's talk about the good things!
The art style is interesting and well done. The combination of "hand drawn" art 3D models is played off well. The music and sound design is interesting. The combat is fluid, and as frustrated as I was early on, I've gotten better...I think. I'm also playing on god mode, so I have high resistance to damage so maybe I still suck. The characters are pretty well designed and it's interesting learning about this game's version of well known Greek gods and heroes. And how they make repeat deaths a part of the story is really interesting.
But...FUCK THIS GAME. I hate it.
I knew when people first began celebrating it that it was something I probably wouldn't like. I knew within the first 5 minutes of combat I wasn't going to like it. And 20 hours and 30 deaths later, I STILL DON'T LIKE THIS GAME!
I hate hard games. I'm not against challenge. Challenge is there to make the adventure worth it. If a game were easy, then it would become boring. Ultimately, challenge gives a sense of success, a feeling of a job well done. But I don't want challenge for the sake of challenge. I want an adventure. The challenge should enhance the adventure. But I don't want the challenge to be the adventure. I don't want the point of an experience to be banging my head against the wall until the wall gives in or I die. And that's what Hades is to me.
I'm playing on god mode. I had hoped that meant I would be invincible. I just wanted the story. But you can't have the story without the deaths--then it's a dumb fucking story. (I'm kidding, I get it. I still don't like it.) Instead, god mode starts you off resistant to damage. I immediately got much further. It made me feel more hopeful of a light at the end of the tunnel. That reinvigorated me. Ok, I don't get to breeze through, but it'll take less time.
Two weeks later, I still haven't beaten this god-damned game! (See what I did there?) I've unlocked more lives, more resistance, more boosts--still I can't beat the game. All the while, my wife has been playing Dreamlight Valley. She's unlocked all the characters, leveled them up to max level, completed the main story, and is now decorating her house with wonderfully designed Disney pieces. While I'm over here playing the same god-damn enemies, same god-damn levels, same god-damn bosses, same god-damn everything!!! (I'm overplaying.)
The game is fun. I'll admit that. The controls are tight, the animations and effects are entertaining. When I'm being successful, I feel successful. But it's fucking groundhog's day, and not in a good way. I once imagined a groundhog's day game (and I believe there's some games that have done this as well, but I haven't played them). My idea was that each time you played you learned new information. You were free to explore an open environment and try different things. The idea was that you'd use your multiple lives to find the solution. But Hades is just replaying the exact same thing over and over. You get better at fighting and learn which boons you prefer, but you don't get to choose to do things differently. I can't decide to avoid a boss or negotiate instead of fighting them. There's no freedom. It's just kill and die, kill and die, kill and die.
And the story isn't good enough for me to keep doing that.
The issue with the story isn't the writing or characters (and I appreciate that the game provides new dialog options with each death), the issue is that the story is restricted to this small opening hub and I have to play 45 minutes of the same old bull shit before getting a story dump. But it's hard to receive the story dump cause I'm pissed off at dying again. I just don't care.
I know that there are people that like challenging rogue likes and that this kind of storytelling is perfect for those folks. Might be that this is the perfect example of good storytelling within a rogue-like, but for ME, I hate it. I hate every moment of it. I'm just mad. I want to beat the game. I want to see the story. I want to play this as intended. But as I watch my wife have fun playing her relaxing and rewarding game, I realize I'm wasting my life on this. There's so many great games out there I haven't played, and many I would like to play again.
What's aggravating is that spent money on this. It wasn't for me, but I bought it anyway. Now I've lost that many and I've lost these hours of my life. I'll never get any of it back.
I almost made it to the end. I reached Hades. I failed about four times. Then I beat him...so I thought. But his life gauge refilled and I had nothing left. I got him down to 45% before he killed me. I looked it up and to get the "complete" ending you have to beat Hades 10 times.
Fuck it...

(I did ask the Dressupgames Tumblr this a while back so if this ask/phrasing is familiar to anyone reading that might be why lol) I think it's likely a little older than the sites people tend to ask about, but I've been trying to remember the name of a website/group of characters on a website for YEARS that I'm sure I found originally through Dressupgames - do you (or anyone who may be seeing this) by any chance remember a game from a site that was about a bunch of monster-creatures (I think some of them had blue skin but not totally sure) who I think lived in a garden-like environment, and they loved to put on vaudeville shows? (That's the unique detail that makes it stick out to me, it was where I first heard the word vaudeville to my knowledge) It was so specific and I can see the characters in my head, but can't remember what they were called for the life of me!! This has been bugging me for years. The creatures looked almost hand-drawn, if that helps. And I'm sure that this was a site from either the late 90s or early-mid 00s. Probably a longshot, but thanks for taking the time to read this all the same.
Ah, I can't remember games that are like that, sorry :(! Do you remember if they were some sort of login-based game, or what the gameplay was like? That might help me figure out what category it's in and go down from there.
Also, you might want to ask the Flashpoint Discord - they have a dedicated channel for people asking about specific games. And if anyone here knows what it is, do let us know! :)

Final Project: Art Style
How I would describe the style I'm aiming for.
At first I misunderstood what it was I was trying to emulate. I was thinking of the style as what it technically is: low-poly,  flat texture, unlit, using vibrant, cartoonish colors, and potentially with touches of line-drawn elements.  Games I had in mind as references were somewhere in the range of Donut Country, Stikhold, Untitled Goose Game, Frog Detective, Wattam, Before Your Eyes and Virginia. Frog Detective is probably more squarely what I'm gunning for, with a simple, graphic style as it seems like it would be a little easier to accomplish.  What I didn't realize was that this style is what is considered cel shading. I thought cel-shading was specifically when you put cartoon stroke lines around all of the images. So, I wasted a little time trying to logic through how to accomplish cel-shading from scratch not realizing I could just follow a cel-shading tutorial (though there isn't really a lot of step-by-step instructions/tutorials out there for doing it).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Why I've chosen this style.
I enjoy games with a tonal imbalance, where the look and feel seems cheerful, but the subject matter is a little more serious. I'd love to try a PS1 style game with a dark and weird aesthetic but with themes and subject matter that ends up optimistic/cheerful, but for now with this game I think the more common cutesy but serious combo will serve my story best. A main theme of the story in my game is that a main character doesn't feel comfortable opening up to people, but discovers a llama in a petting zoo that she weirdly feels comfortable opening up to and, to her surprise, the llama can talk and happens to be a skilled psychologist who helps her process an event she is currently dealing with.
How to technically achieve this look.
Based on my initial understanding, there's two possible ways to go about this. Both methods are attempting to removing lighting and reflection and replace it with emission and color palette to create whatever sense of depth I need.
One method is to remove shadow, normals and textures from individual materials, add roughness, and substitute lighting effects with emissive colors; the other is to apply a shader in the post process volume (I don't really actually know what this one means but that's what It's doing) and playing around with emission values.
Tumblr media
The node map for constructing a post-production shader is a little complex so I haven't attempted to build one out yet. This is what it looks like from the tutorial.
I've gotten some of the basics applied for the other method, though still working on what a more complete aesthetic would look like. I started by eliminating casted shadows through world and object settings and by deleting primary sources of lighting, but I'm still trying to figure out how to substitute Unreal's default baseline environment (the sky) with the bare minimum lighting/materials to still make my environment visible.
Tumblr media
It took me awhile to figure out that the effect ends up being pretty straightforward to set up by simply funneling your material color into the Emissive Color parameter instead of the Base Color parameter in your nodes. You then simply attach Multiply/Param nodes to control the strength of the emission.
Tumblr media
This is how things start to look once you've remove shadows/lighting from the materials:
Tumblr media
I'm not yet sure how to make adjustments to the material instances. So my grass and tree and still the same color/emission, making them blend into each other. I want to change the tone of the green in the tree without creating an entirely new material.
Tumblr media
This shows how changing the Emission Color, though, ultimately removes the shadowing from the object.

Guessing NCT's rising signs: Huang Renjun as a Cancer rising
Welcome to my first post where I write all about why I think this idol is X rising sign! I don't know how many of these I'll do because it heavily depends on how confident I feel in my guess of their rising lol for Renjun's rising sign, it's something I've been sitting on for a loooong time just to see if anything else comes into my head. At the end of the day we really have no way to know for sure, even if the idols gives us their birth time it still has to be taken with a grain of salt! But it’s still fun theorize and to test your skills while learning at the same time. So for now I feel pretty confident sharing my thoughts on Renjun as a cancer rising.
Let’s ✨explore✨ why:
*:・゚✧*:・゚✧long post! *:・゚✧*:・゚✧
Tumblr media Tumblr media
✦ Before I even decided to look up his chart layout, there were 2 characteristics of Renjun that initially led me to think he’s a Cancer rising. His eyes and his physique. His eyes aren’t necessarily as big as idols we’ve seen with moon in 1st, but they’re still very notable features of his physical appearance that he’s very well known for. They’re bigger, soft and dreamy, and sometimes look like he quite literally holds stars in his eyes. The biggest physical feature though is his, well, petite frame. Next to his eyes, renjun is also really well know for his smaller build. It’s even a well known inside joke amongst NCT, they all him “big shoulders renjun” (lol) because “for a guy” his shoulders a on the smaller side. Both of these physical attributes can also be identifying characteristics of cancer risings.
✦ So, in general I think he is a Cancer rising. But if we want to be more specific; I do think he is a 3rd decan Cancer rising which is the Pisces/Neptune ruled decan. I initially chose this because his house and planet placements just make so much more sense to me when the rising is in the 3rd decan (I'll get into that below), but after reading about the 3rd decan I also think it fits his personality really well! With the Neptune and Pisces influence, he's more on the open side of Cancer rising but more notably, 3rd decans are a lot more inclined to art/creativity and sometimes, music specifically. These people also have a very dreamy attraction about them. He also has his Venus trine ASC which can further add to this kind of creative vibe he gives off, but is also drawn to! It emphasizes the importance of aesthetics, art and creativity in his life. If you've never been on Renjun stan twt then you might not know that a lot of his fans see him as this incredibly dreamy and ethereal boy (as they should) and I can see why!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
*:・゚✧house and planet placements *:・゚✧
Scorpio moon, Sagittarius Pluto in 5th:
✦ yea... just yes. Okay but actually, if you read my NCT Dream Hexaco x Birth Chart analyses, I talked a lot about his chart already because I really like it. As someone with a Scorpio moon, I can't help but be really interested in how his plays out. And I have to say, I am quite attached to this theory because I think his scorpio moon in 5th just. makes. sense. I'm not going to go much into the descriptions of the placements, I'm mostly going to stick to the house influence. We know that Scorpio moons have really intense emotions, they internalize everything and are just highly sensitive people to their environments. Renjun has been incredibly open about his mental and emotional struggles ever since being a kid. I've honestly never heard an idol talk about their struggle like he has. He even opened up recently about how a few years ago he had an art therapist that really helped him and lowkey changed his life. I feel like a lot of this can be reflected in his 5th house. The house of creativity, expression, creation. His 5th cusp is also in Scorpio. 5th house in water tend to be really drawn to arts and music. Having a Scorpio moon, a moon sign that can be quite guarded, in a fire house can also explain his readiness/openness to share his emotions and art. Also let's not forget his chart ruler is his Scorpio moon in 5th! What I've wrote above are big themes in his life, which we've seen.
✦ As for the Pluto in 5th. Because his 5th house is in Scorpio this would mean the 5th ruler is in 5th. I know it might not make sense at first because it's pluto and pluto is misunderstood. But it makes perfect sense to me. Pluto in 5th is a deeply passionate and creative placement. It bring so much energy to this house, and can even create a borderline obsession with themes of this house. With creating and expressing. But I could also see having this and his scorpio moon in this house bringing so much energy, it just kind of adds to the confusion and intensity of a scorpio moons emotions and processing abilities, like, emotionally overwhelming. Scorpio moons always need an outlet and they usually figure that out the hard way at some point in life. The outlet can vary based off the chart, his is without a doubt connected to his art; whatever that may be to him.

Aquarius Uranus in 8th:
✦ This part is brief because it's more of like, additional details to what's already in his chart. Something that is really well known about Renjun too is how much he is into space and aliens and stuff like that. He, once again, has been very open about it lol on variety shows I've seen him light up every time its briefly mentioned and he'll comment on how much he finds that stuff interesting. The 8th house is weird, it can manifest in a lot of different ways. The biggest point here for me is that the house is in Aquarius with Uranus here. I know someone with this placement too and, while they're open minded to astrology and tarot etc. it's a bit more focused on logic. I can't say for sure because I don't know him, but he kind of strikes me as the kind of person that would fight to death over aliens existing, but draws the line at astrology lol. I actually do think he would be open to astrology and tarot, but he'd need the right introduction to it. Anyways, yea this placement to me explains a lot of his interest in space and things we don't understand. He's expressed his curiosity in it. I think a lot of this is coming from his Scorpio moon and Pisces mercury/venus which is why I think it's just additional support.

Pisces Mercury/Venus in 9th:
✦ THIS HOUSE right here... so much to say. Firstly, Pisces in 9th is probably one of the main culprits for his creativity, deep thinking and curiosity in the world. And more importantly: his imagination. I've mentioned this a lot when I talk about renjun but, he's very well known for his creativity, but I want to make it clear that there is a distinction between creation and imagination. His imagination is truly... on another level. Well, planet actually since it's pisces! Again, amongst fans it's really well known his imagination is just so unqiue. This is less about the 9th house and more about the fact that he has 2 pisces placements but it still affects it lol. He's very open about his imagination and speaks about it so naturally. He shared his drawing of a bird, hybrid, thing? and how it's an animal that steals your dreams in your sleep. Anyways, Pisces in 9th aren't necessarily the travelers we'd see with an air or fire sign here, but they like to travel mentally. He's also talked about how he's just in general a very curious person and you can tell his thoughts probably travel far and wide in his down time.
✦ What's really interesting to me about this house is his mercury is here and Mercury in 9th is a very specific kind of placement. It almost always guarantees an interest and talent in learning languages. I don't know if languages are necessarily a passion for him but he definitely is interested and cares about learning language and other cultures. He also did pick up on Korean and English with ease. Which also reminds me that, he actually was exposed to Korean at a young age because I'm pretty sure he went to a bilingual school (chinese and korean). This is also a big deal to me because planets in 9th, especially sun/mercury often indicate very early exposure to languages or other cultures... so yea that checks out. This can also be proved by looking at his IC in Virgo, which puts the ruler in 9th. His mercury is also sextile Jupiter. I also wanna comment that he has his Mercury in the 5th degree, I'm not great at degree theory yet but that feels significant to me. Of course we cannot forget his absolutely angelic voice. Renjun is also very well known for his stunning vocals. Not only are Pisces placements musically inclined but Pisces mercury are known for their sweet voices.
✦ As for the venus is 9th, I feel like I have more to say on his venus being in Pisces because that's where so much of his artistic creativity and imagination come from. But venus here adds to a lot of what I've written above, adding to his curiosity of the world. What I find most interesting about venus in 9th though, is it brings another inclination to art! He might really like art from different places in the world, or just exploring all types of art being very open minded to its different forms etc. Venus here also brings ease to language learning, and these people will naturally have other cultures and people from them as a big part of their life. I feel like, in general it's not surprising at all to me that as a foreign member (being from China), that he would have 9th house influence! It can often manifest as like.., travel, other languages, cultures and parts of the world etc. are just very naturally a part of their life. Some people never really contemplate life overseas or in another country. But for 9th housers, it's never not been an option. His 9th house influence can also make him a great teacher, mentor and just overall supportive person. We've seen some of this in the content he's made with NCT. Like trying to teach his members chinese with Chenle, except he was taking it way more seriously lol but was so supportive. He's also tried to get Jeno and Jisung involved in his art making, but keeping the process very open and fun.

Aries sun, Taurus mars in 10th:
✦ This is the last part I'm going to cover because it is really just the icing on the cake to finish this up. The 10th house is considered pretty important when looking at celebrities/idols because it's very likely a lot of what we see from them is their 10th house influence. In the chart model I'm using for Renjun, it puts his MC in the very last degrees of Pisces, so there's a chance it's in Aries but either way with his sun and mars here they are still playing a big role. So for that reason, I'm opting for Pisces MC. I also think Pisces MC fits though because first it puts the ruler in his 7th house. Meaning he could really benefit and work well in something that involves a group! Because it's Pisces in Neptune, it also adds to his very ethereal vibe and how people just seem to love him wherever he goes. He's very magnetic and can come off as artistic and sensitive. He's known for being dreamy, unreal, artistic, sensitive.
✦ Again, we know he has an aries sun and taurus mars so I'm not going to explain them here, just how they affect the house, but having his these here makes so much sense to me too. Having planets in 10th also influences what kind of "vibe" people get from you, and what you're "known" for. Mars and Sun bring similar energy of being well known for for energy, drive, and even stage presence. Not being afraid to be on stage, being good with attention and spotlight. He's known for his kind of playful and childish behavior at times. He is charismatic, bold, brave, happy and upbeat. With the sun, he is again known for his creativity and creations and also self-expression.

Thank you to anyone who read all this. I don't really expect many people to because I'm mostly writing this for my own curiosity and to finally just put this theory out there! Anyways, stan Renjun best boy <33
Thoughts and feedback are always welcome <3
