— people with moon aspecting mars can be incredibly impulsive when they feel hurt or triggered. yall need to be careful with doing things in the heat of the moment that you know you’ll regret later... but in the moment, you feel so hurt that it clouds your rational side. please be more self-aware about this because you may make decisions that will directly affect you for the worse in the future 

— people with leo mars ft. constantly asking you for pictures... about anything. they just wanna SEE LMFAO THEY DON’T CARE WHAT IT IS THEY’RE SEEING. you just got ready to go out? “send pics of your makeup and your full outfit”. you’re waiting in a long boring line to get the covid vaccine? “send pics of the line”. your mom baked cake? “send pics of the cake”. plus they send so many random pictures while texting, it’s their special love language

— having moon conjunct moon/venus in synastry feels insane. you tell them something you’ve been through, and they’re immediately like “that happened with me as well.” it doesn’t even have to be something grand, sometimes just very specific things you thought were particular about you. the amount of understanding that comes with this aspect in synastry can feel very new and intense especially if you’re used to seeing yourself as the “odd one out”, used to feeling isolated in your experiences 

— people with pluto in the 1st house often feel the need to erase “traces” of their existence, for example deleting messages that they sent people, deleting all of their social media posts. they can feel anxious and paranoid about other people having access to their past self, even if the past self in question is from, like. a week ago 

— people with chiron in the water houses (4th/8th/12th) might’ve suffered bullying to the point where they repress their memories. a lot of their memories of their school years may feel foggy if they were bullied in those years

— virgo placements feel sososo soothed by hearing their cats purr. thinking about how my virgo placement friends are always the ones who send me videos of them petting their cats... and then i get soothed by how soothed they feel. it’s a win win situation, if you have virgo placements it’s hereby your duty to send me a video of you petting your cat while they purr. right now. — people with gemini in the 3rd house might have shaky movements of the hands when other people look at them doing things. very specific i know but the third house rules hands and gemini is a sign that has somewhat of an anxious, twitchy quality to it. on the other hand, people with capricorn in the 3rd house (scorpio risings, using whole signs) have the steadiest hands i’ve ever seen lol their movements ooze confidence, these bitches know how to make you feel as thought they know exactly what they’re doing

— people with venus in the 1st house ft. altering their pics with photoshop and hating posting selfies without filters because they never feel like their appearance is good enough. stop it. you don’t need to always look your best and especially not if your ‘best’ isn’t even what you actually look like. also... don’t even think about making self-deprecative jokes about your appearance. next time i find one of yall saying “ahaha im not bad for a 5 without talent” i’m squishing your head between 2 pieces of toast and calling you an idiot sandwich. you’re BEAUTIFUL 

— having venus in the 3rd house in composite with someone? do you mean calling each other the absolute ugliest nicknames in the most endearing way? 

— leo deals with themes of the ego, and it seems that leo placements often struggle with attracting narcissistic people into their life... leo suns/mercuries can be raised by loud, overbearing, narcissistic parents who see their kid as an extension of themselves and who teach the kid to always be very supportive and caring towards them or else they’ll deny them of words of affirmation-- either by insulting them to shatter their self-esteem or simply never complimenting the kid back. leo moons/mars/venus tend to attract narcissistic partners who only care about serving their own emotional needs and ignore the ones of their partner, and who feed off of their supportive and giving nature. which is why leo placements really need to watch out for being gullible, naïve and dismissing the red flags because my god, you be falling for some shady people.

— aries placements, ESPECIALLY aries suns and moons, value generosity so much and they get so turned off by stingy ppl who don’t share with others, especially when others need it. like.. if you’re hanging out in a group with them and someone asks for a bite of your food because they have no money and you say no... espect them to never respect you. ever. 

— people with libra placements use soooo many adjectives to describe things. something can’t just be beautiful, it has to be DIVINE and CELESTIAL and INTOXICATING. they can be so expressive god it’s so fcking funny

— people with mars in a water sign can have this terrible habit of expecting other people to guess what they want. and then they get passive agressive when you don’t instinctively feel what it is they want... and when you ask them “do you want this?”, they go like “FINALLY. i thought you’d never get there”. stop it. i know that you want people to understand you in a way that transcends words, but you can’t expect people to read your mind and then get disappointed when they don’t, thinking “oh if they loved me that much then they would’ve known that i really want chipotle for dinner :(” GIRL WHAT. - impulse wakes up on a new server (the 3rdlife server) that he’s never seen before

- he recalls the meteor attack that wiped out hermitcraft and killed the 2/3 of the active hermits who weren’t able to escape in time

- after a roll call in chat, he sets off and eventually finds day one “team hermit”

chapter two

- grian accidentally kills scar

- scar wakes up on prospit after dying, flies back to the server, and freaks out everyone

- grian confesses to scar that he’s been sleeping on prospit his whole life and they form the desert duo alliance as grian’s apology

- skizzleman dies to an enderman and wakes up on derse, flying back to the server as well

chapter three

- bdubs gets knocked off his tower by a phantom, dies, and wakes up on prospit

- he sure does take his time exploring

- scar is cold.  that’s literally it

- grian is scared to wake up on prospit again and ends up not sleeping at all.  he’s being very unhealthy

chapter four

- joel is still grieving, so a series of events causes him not only to make a glitch that will drive the rest of the plot BUT ALSO trap himself in it.  you’ll hear from him later don’t worry he’ll be fineeeeee

im telling you he’s perfectly fine

- etho turns out to be a derspite and, guided by both skaia and the extremely trustworthy horrorterrors (the latter before the glitch made the thing he was told to do an EXTREMELY bad idea), takes tango down to a cave to kill him

- we don’t hear anything about those two for 2 full chapters because plot tension

chapter five

- it turns out that joel’s glitch turned the server into full traditional-ish sburb, with lands and consorts and imps.  land lore ensues

- the renchanting duo enjoys the spoils while the desert duo either starves or scams people for petty vanilla resources

- it turns out joel woke up on derse (!!) after glitching.  he’s assumed to not be dead and just in a glitchy coma on the server

- he’s unable to leave his tower and is incredibly bored

- castle gang is just chilling until an alarming message shows on communicators

- what does it say?  we don’t know!!!!!!

chapter six

- i troll the readers and show the desert duo instead of telling them what happened to tango and etho

- grian is enjoying a villain arc and convinces scar to come with him to god tier because of something he saw in skaia

- everyone (the readers) suddenly realizes that that’s probably what tango and etho are doing 

chapter seven

- it turned out to actually be what tango and etho were doing

- etho kills tango on his quest bed

- tango god tiers as a witch of time and immediately kills etho using super cool time powers

- luckily etho still has another dream self to spare so i can kill him again without even making my readers sad

- the castle gang takes refuge in the castle because they don’t want to get murdered

- then they let scott and jimmy in for literally no reason other than plot importance (which you’ll see later but don’t worry about that for now)

- meanwhile, scar and grian reach grians quest bed

- scar and grian have a moral debate after reading chat and grians villain arc intensifies

- scar commits arson.  super unpredictable stuff here

- grian fights his way through the fire and dies on his quest bed

- he god tiers as a prince of breath and suffocates scar for no reason

- unlike tango, he immediately feels guilty for what he’s done and puts scar on scars quest bed

I will take Any excuse to rec this fic, its the most fluffy pile of feels Good Lord. also the first fic I ever bound into a physical book. “Studying to become a hero requires knowing how to take care of yourself. To say that things had snowballed was an understatement. The long and short of it was, fuck Mineta.”

Comparing RWBY and YGO DM: The Handling and Evolution of Themes

Hey! Its been a hot minute since I last posted anything RWBY-related but Im laying in my bed right now and Im sick and bored so I guess we're doing this. Today I will do my best to analyze what I percieve to be the main themes and messages of both of these shows, or more specifically, how theyre handled narratively. Im mostly focusing on that part because, while these series do have similar themes and messaging, they are still a few things in which they are wildly different. And with that, lets start with this essay-post-thing!

1. Theres something we need to adress first

Okay so, before we can really talk about this, theres something I feel the need to clarify here: Neither of these stories was "planned from the beginning".

Now, I dont think a story being planned from the beginning or not nesscessarily makes the story any better or worse by default, however, it is still important to acknowledge because the way the story is planned is going to affect every facet of it. Things are not going to be foreshadowed properly, things are gonna be set up only for nothing to come of it, the story might drastically change directions, characters might act differently, etc, etc.

And, this is bit off-topic but, it's much better to just admit that the story was not planned than trying to pretend that it was. Like, there are a lot of reasons why I tend to be so forgiving towards YGO even though its not very good, but one of them is definitely the fact that, as far as Im aware atleast, the guy who wrote it isnt pretending to have had this big master plan all along and neither is the fandom. With RWBY on the other hand... yeaaaah, its kinda the opposite. From what Ive seen of RWBYs fandom, there seems to be this pretty popular narrative that everything was planned even though it clearly wasnt. Thats pretty bad and honestly lowers my opinion of the writers so much more than if they would just admit to not having a proper plan.

Like, I initially consumed YGO like this: Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters, Yu-Gi-Oh (aka Season 0), like, a quarter of the Yu-Gi-Oh manga (I still havent finished it)

In all three of these we have the character of Yami Yuugi, or just Yami. Broadly speaking, he is an ancient egyptian gamer spirit who lives in a magical puzzle that has not been solved for 3000 years until this highschooler named Yuugi Mutou comes along and solves it, thus setting him free and allowing him to possess Yuugi and have access to the vague magical powers of the puzzle.

In Duel Monsters he's perfectly fine most of time, morally speaking. There is an instance of him almost murdering a guy and its a bit unclear what exactly happens to those he mindcrushes but overall he's very much a pretty good guy. In Season 0 most of what he does is set up these games for bad people, where they will go insane no matter what they do. From how I understand this whole Shadow Game, Penalty Game stuff, if you lose a Shadow Game, you get violent and intense hallucinations and you will always cuz yknow, gamer spirit. But if you try to cheat, which most of the bad people do in this show, you get violent and intense hallucinations as a punishment.

Since the two anime are generally considered two different continuities, its perfectly fine that Yamis characterization is wildly different in both of them. But in the manga both of these characterizations appear, basically one after the other with no real arc or consequences, for that matter. Why is that? Simply put, someone thought it was a good idea to try to turn an episodic, very slice of life-y light-horror manga into a more traditional, more plot-driven battle shounen. From what Ive heard, it was apparently largely because of network interference or something, but the point is, it changed directions incredibly drastically with little planning and everyone knows this and I can understand that for the most part.

In RWBY we have the character of Blake Belladonna, who, in the first 3 volumes/seasons atleast, was this aloof, more toned down loner-type character with a pretty strong sense of justice. She's an in-universe marginilized racial minority and she clearly cares about racial injustice. The way its initially framed makes it seem like she had a very hard life and no stable support system, which is what eventually pushed her to join a Civil Rights group/Terrorist organization (good god, the Faunus subplot is so awful, I could write a whole essay about it but Im already de-railing rn so I'll just save that for later).

Then, in volumes 4-5 it turns out her father is actually like, the mayor or chief of this island-place called Menagerie and she grew up in this big mansion with multiple guards/servants. Oh and also, apparently "space is a commodity" on there, so theres that. She still retains large parts of her personality but she's kinda like, worse somehow I think. I cant really describe it in a meaningful way but I hope you get what Im saying anyway. Then in Volume 6 she confronted her emotional abuser Adam (sorry for not mentioning him sooner but yeah, he was like, her abusive boyfriend, which is something that a lot of people disagree with but I wont really say anything about it either way because I dont really feel any specific way) with her friend, Yang, and ended up killing him.

After all that, she pretty much lost the rest of her personality, as well as her arc about all the Faunus stuff. She just kinda became the meek, generically nice, recovering abuse victim. Why? Well, the actual reason is that they didnt plan out shit and are just kinda flying by the seat of their oversized clown-pants and if they and the fandom just admitted it, I would have less of an issue. I still wouldnt be as forgiving towards RWBY as I am towards YGO because the crux of the issue, for me, is just that I dont particulary like RWBY but also like. Do you really expect me to take MKEK seriously as writers after admitting to not have a timeline because iT wOuLd CaUsE pLoThOlEs?

However, since they want us to believe that everything was planned out from the beginning, the explaination would be.... Idk, they deliberately butchered one of their main characters?? Because.. they hate her?? Maybe????

So yeah, that was quite a detour however, I would like you to keep this mind going forward.

2. Themes of the Early Series'

First, what do mean by 'Early Series' for both of these shows respectively? Well, for YGO that would have to be Season 0 or if youre reading the manga, everything pre-Duelist Kingdom. Basically, the part of the series thats a episodic, very slice of life-y light-horror series.

For RWBY that would be the first three Volumes, also known as the Poser-Era. Back then it was just kinda an action series that took place at Anime Warrior Academy (also known as Beacon) with some pretty bare minimum worldbuilding, character-driven plots and developments but now its more of an epic high-fantasy story with more of an emphasis on plot as opposed to just action.

The themes and messages in Early YGO are kinda vague, very confusing to me and if you were to follow any of it literally that would be pretty bad. For now Im just gonna say the main themes are Friendship and Identity and mostly focus on the Identity aspect.

Now, it took me a little while to figure out RWBYs deal but I think the main themes for Volumes 1-3 are also Friendship and Heroism. Once again, I'll mostly focus on Heroism and touch on Friendship more briefly later.

I dont have much more to add to YGOs themes right now, so I'll briefly go over Heroism in RWBY.

In RWBYs setting there are these man-eating monsters called Grimm that have basically infected the planet. In order to deal with that, they have people called huntsmen and huntresses that kill them and protect people. Theyre trained at special academies like Beacon and go on missions there and stuff like that. Our four main characters, Ruby, Weiss, Blake and Yang, are training to become huntresses and one day they go on this mission to clean up a grimm infested city block with one of their teachers. Obviously, that takes a long time so they have to camp out in one of the empty houses. Weiss, Blake and Yang cant sleep because theyve been thinking about this question that their teacher asked them when they were fighting grimm: "Why do you want to become a huntress?"

They have a heart to heart and we find out about their motivations; Weiss wants to bring honour back to her family, Blake want to distance herself from the White Fang (that terrorist organization I mentioned earlier) and as an extension from Adam, Yang wants to have a life of adventure. They also talk about why Ruby wants to be a huntress and it turns out that she judt wants to help people. Unlike the others, she has no motivation besides that. We're meant to listen to that and look at her as a sort-of personification of Heroism: kind, but not naive, strong and most of all, selfless. The others on her team are not portayed as bad for not being like Ruby by any means but we are clearly meant to admire her the most out of all of them.

Okay, now comes the part Ive been looking forward to the most:

3. How did these themes evolve in the Modern Series'?

Alright, before we can really delve into the way they evolved in YGO I'll have to give you a brief summary of the character progression. At the start of DM, during the Duelist Kingdom arc, Yami Yuugi is just that; A darker Yuugi. Hes more confident, bolder, his voice is deeper, hes somehow taller, more ruthless, all that good stuff. Notably, he doesnt actually seem more skilled than Yuugi even at the start of this story, but he's still dependent on Yami. Yami on the other hand, has no identity of his own or even hints at one at this point. He's just The Other Yuugi.

Then during the Battle City arc, they find out that Yami was actually a pharao prior to being sealed in the puzzle, he just didnt know because of amnesia, I guess. So now they need to find out his real name and then send him to the afterlife because hes meant to be dead, but not before saving the world from being swallowed by darkness, which is also a thing they have to do now.

Then we finally get to the Memory World arc, where Yami, Yuugi and the rest of the gang astralproject to ancient egypt via puzzle magic. Yami is trying to figure out what the hell is going on and who all these familiar people are, while Yuugi & Co are trying their best to help him. Then some weird shit happens and it turns out that all of that is not just Yamis sealed away memories, but also a giant D&D Shadow Game that will destroy the world if Yami loses. So now theres Pharao!Yami who is still clueless on the metaphorical and literal playing field and Player!Yami, who is kinda controlling himself now? I guess?? Yamis opponent, The Spirit of The Ring, has something similar to that going on where hes both controlling and properly participating in the game. So Player!Yami is now fighting against Player!TSoTR, Pharao!Yami is now fighting against Thief King Bakura (who is like, the human, ancient egyptian version of the Ring Spirit) and Yuugi is now fighting against Yami Bakura (who is like, the human, modern japanese version of the Ring Spirit). Yuugi gets Yamis real name, he and the gang go over to Pharao!Yami and tell him his name, meanwhile Player!Yami is also somehow helping as well and they defeat the Ring Spirit, thus saving the world. Then they travel to modern Egypt, the Ceremonial Duel happens and Yuugi wins, sending Yami to the Afterlife where he can finally rest and that was the series!

I originally wanted to recount the stuff that was going on with the Ring Spirit and his host as well because they parallel eachother, but this summary is already far too long and I think youll get the point without me needing to explain any more.

My point here is, that the story went from being vaguely about Identity, maybe? to being very clearly about Self-Discovery and Learning to Be Independent. I think this is a very good way to evolve the messaging of your story. How does RWBY track on that?

Well, uh... its not great. I will acknowledge that they have tried to introduce new themes and ideas since, even though I wont really be talking about them in this post. But yeah, the whole Heroism thing really regressed.

Like, I didnt explicitly say it when I was explaining grimm earlier, but theyre not going away. The grimm have always been there and people who sign up to become huntsmen and huntresses are effectively signing up for a job that will never truly be done, no matter what they do. Characters like Ruby and even more minor ones like Phyrrah have shown us that that doesnt matter when youre a hero. No life isnt worth saving, no grimm isnt worth killing, no criminal isnt worth arresting. Then, in volume 6 they find out about Salem. Salem is the Big Bad of the show, shes immortal, controls the grimm and is supposed to be very powerful.

What do our heroes do? They give up. Sike! They were just mindcontrolled by monsters or some shit, of course they didnt give up their mission (which is to bring an Important Macguffin to a city called Atlas, sorry I didnt mention it)!

But then they arrive in Atlas (which is llike, a city thats floating over another city called Mantle) and yknow, they do some plot stuff thats not really important right now until the city gets invaded by Salem and this big grimm army she has.

What do our heroes do? Well, Ruby, Weiss, Blake and some side characters are chilling, drinking tea in a mansion and Yang and the B Team were actually trying to do something, but even those efforts seem incredibly minimal.

Oh wait, I also forgot to mention that Ironwood (a fairly minor, vaguely antagonistic character up until now) wanted to lift Atlas even higher to save Atleasian civilians from danger while leaving Mantle vulnerable to Salems invasion.

What would be the most heroic thing to do?

A) Let Ironwood lift Atlas, get as much support as they can down to Mantle and save as many Mantle civilians as they can from the invasion

B) Prevent Ironwood from lifting Atlas but then split up in order to protect both Atlas and Mantle civilians

C) Prevent Ironwood from lifting Atlas and then dont do anything else

Congrats! If you choose C, you think exactly like the writers!

And I just

This is so mindboggling to me, I feel like I shouldnt even have explain how this is bad. And like, it wouldve been so easy to actually make them seem herokc through their actions, to make it seem like they did try but no.

I have never seen a central theme be this botched, how in the world did they do that? Why did they think it was a good idea for Ruby "The Embodiment of Heroism" Rose to sit in a mansion doing nothing, no planning, no organizing just ..... God, how are they this bad? Like, this doesnt even have anything to do with it being planned in any way, this is just straight up incompetence

4. Very briefly touching on friendship

The friendship is awful and its not solely because they all have the same opinions. They barely interact with eachother outside their designated pairs which leads to it all feeling incredibly hollow. Theyre also practically indistingushable from one another now, which is a shame because it wasnt always like that. Like, I dont think the characters were that well-developed in earlier volumes but they were very well-characterized. But now we've gotten to a point where you can literally copy and paste one characters dialogue onto another and literally nothing changes, it really sucks.

5. Some closing words

Damn, this took way longer than I thought it would and now Im pretty exhausted. I have no idea how yall always write these but props to you! I feel like this ended up a bit rambly but overall, Im pretty proud.

okay so um, As Said Previously, we (myself and tomás @flippwizard) moved out of my parents house a short while ago into a (good) shoebox of a maisonette beneath a flat , this is all good thats fine its going well etc but the walls and ceilings arent ?? amazing for sound dampening lets just say and that means to the flat above as well ... we dont know that they know we can hear basically everything above indoor voices in their place either

also as a general thing we’ll say that we both have anxiety that gets pretty bad at times , and while we obvs dont have kids and dont have a huge amount of experience with younger children when we were old enough to like Get It , we do Know some shit about how parents behaviour affects children hm

weve never actually met our upstairs neighbours or even seen them tbh , especially since we work kind of weird hours , but id rather not at this point lol. all we know is theres at least 1 young kid and a woman who we think is the carer there. we THINK the kid is about 3 - 5, definitely not older than 5 unless he’s developmentally delayed in some way.

anyway, pretty much every day at least once, and often earlier in the morning or later at night - which is LATE for normal people bc tomás finished work at midnight - we hear said woman full volume shouting in a very aggressive and kind of erratic way at the child, often involving some stomping and clattering around. we’ll say up front we dont think theres any heavy physical abuse happening but i wouldn’t be surprised if there was a slap or two ...

like, to start with shouting at a kid and especially a young kid is NOT gonna be very helpful , and honestly it ALWAYS sounds like its over something incredibly pointless. really sounds like some classic ‘please get some anger management’ stuff ... todays example literally half an hour ago “go find your dummy! i told you go find it! youre not listening!” or something to that effect. im fairly sure ive heard “shut up” a fair few times as well. theres no or very little swearing, but at the same time i swear a lot but id never swear AT someone without a gooooood reason and especially not a child. also, the amount of times “Go away” gets yelled at this kid feels very concerning lol , like either a kid wants something or is bored (ie wanting entertainment) at that age, jus fuckin look after the kid or find someone else to do it if youre busy ...

and second off im getting a bit speculative here but it kind of worries me how much said kid DOESNT cry after being spoken to like that , like damn if it was me i would DIE , and when we actually have heard him actually cry anymore than kind of a screech it comes in a stompy gap that could POSSIBLY be slap-related. this is just a guess of course but that bit feels real weird ,, when he does cry - at least audibly - its only for a few seconds as well which also feels odd

so like .. Obviouslyyyy, we feel incredibly uncomfortable about this and it can get pretty upsetting ... aside from not very ?? idk socially considerate i guess ?? one of the reasons it sticks out so much is because it often happens when we’re still trying to sleep on account of working weird hours ..... so for the past month or so ive been wondering about it on and off probably a bit much because what do you even do , and we didnt want to be Those Interfering New Neighbours and if we actually said anything directly were not sure how petty they would be about it esp living in such close quarters BUT today was the last focking straw

starting from just past 9 on a friday and continuing for a good half an hour or so at least where we can hear it in both rooms of the ground floor (tomás has a hell cold so got up to lurk on the sofa while i was still trying to sleep), and said yelling and stomping was telling a child explicitly young enough to have a dummy/pacifier to go and find it and to go away with some added crying ?? nope

so uh .. what would you think was the best thing to do ???? we’d rather remain anonymous because of the above mentioned not wanting drama or pettiness but weve had enough of not knowing what to do about it because its really quite distressing :’/

ofc theres the nspcc but we’re not sure how much they can do with only the scant information we actually HAVE ....... another idea would be to ask the council about antisocial behaviours because like i said its really quite bothersome and the very loud stairs stomping / movement around the flat and the shitty bland rap music played loudly during the day isnt GREAT either (weve noticed this shit more right now because we’re both sick & at home) idk like ANY idea would be nice, we’d rather not have to put a letter through their door asking to please be careful since we’re both ill and work shitty hours but honestly ive been so close to just finding the broom and banging the ceiling for the past few days lol

TRACK 1: GOLDEN 🌞

I absolutely LOVE Golden. The intro is adorable, the whole song is just good vibes. The first time I listened too the song, I got girl in red vibes which LITERALLY made my heart drop. The “I know that you’re scared because I’m so open” kind of felt like a Larry lyric? I don’t want to assume but I’m such a Larry I can’t help myself.

TRACK 2: WATERMELON SUGAR 🍉

I have been listening to this damn song on repeat since he sang it for the first time on SNL. I don’t know why I love it so much, but it is just a BOP. My favourite part is DEFINITELY the end. All the trumpets come in, Harry is singing all the higher parts and it is just BEAUTIFUL. Watermelon Sugar is going to start another baby boom I swear to god.

TRACK 3: ADORE YOU 🐟

The first time I listened to this song, I had second thoughts. It wasn’t a BOP, but it wasn’t a skip either. I recently realized that I can sing this song without having to sing higher or lower at any time, and that’s what made me love the song more than when I first listened to it. The music video, omg... Someone get me tickets to Eroda rn. I was literally sobbing watching the music video (and I will admit, I sobbed watching the trailer too...). This song really came through.

TRACK 4: LIGHTS UP 💡

Ok. Lights Up. I listened to this song on repeat the first week it came out because I was so excited that Harry was coming back after literally barely seeing him since tour ended. However, the more times I listened to it I got bored with it and it became more of a skip. I think it really depends on what I’m feeling that day. Some days I’ll skip it, some days I won’t. This is another song that I can sing without having to go higher or lower which definitely changes the way I feel about it overall. The MUSIC VIDEO HAD ME DEAD BTW THAT IS ART. I also appreciated the song more once I realized what the song was about.

TRACK FIVE: CHERRY 🍒

Cherry. Where do I start. I was actually expecting a sort of Kiwi type song so I was completely blown away when I listened to it for the first time. I love this song so much. It makes me believe that Harry released this album when we all needed it. You can tell Harry was hurting while he was writing this, and it made me cry. A lot of people are hating on the voicemail at the end (I think they only hate on it because it’s Camille’s voice? But idk), but I actually really enjoy it. I don’t know why, but I never skipped that part of the song because I felt like the song NEEDED it.

TRACK SIX: FALLING 🌊

OOOOOHHHH MY GOOOOOD. WHEN I TELL YOU I SOBBED DURING THIS SONG, I SOBBED. The fact that this song took Harry 20 minutes to write, is just insane. You can tell he just poured out all his emotion into a 3 minute masterpiece. He’s literally saying that he is becoming someone he doesn’t want to be, and THAT hit hard. When he hits that note (ya know, that note) I cry EVERYTIME. AND I GET THE FEELING THAT YOU’LL NEVER NEED ME AGAAAAAAIIIIIINNNNNN. A+ song.

TRACK SEVEN: TO BE SO LONELY 😭

When I first listened to this song, I thought it was going to be my favourite. I was wrong was I listened to the album a second time, but I still really enjoy this song. The guitar in it is just AMAZING. For some reason when he says “don’t call me baby again” I literally DON’T know why but that gets me feeling SOME TYPE OF WAY. I was FREAKING OUT when he swore on the album, he is a new man. This song is just beautiful.

TRACK EIGHT: SHE 🌹

When I first listened to the song, I was not a fan of She. I didn’t like how long Mitch’s guitar solo was, so for the first week that the album was out, this song was the only skip on the album for me. However, I listened to the song again 2 days ago, I realized how much of a bop it is? Like I am EMBARRASSED for saying this was a skippable song, and I am EMBARRASSED for skipping Mitch’s guitar solo even though it is BEAUTIFUL and it is what he DESERVES. And I’m sorry, but the line “she sleeps in his bed, while he plays pretend, so pretend” gives me LARRY VIBES IM SORRY BUT IT DOES. When people started posting theories about what the song was about I was like OMG WAIT IT MAKES SENSE THAT THE SONG WOULD BE ABOUT HARRY FEMININE SIDE OMG and now the song just means so much.

TRACK NINE: SUNFLOWER VOL. 6 🌻

SUNFLOWER! MY EYES! WANT YOU MORE THAN A MELODY! This song SLAPS. It’s not my favourite, but it’s definitely up there. I love the “kiss in the kitchen” part in the song where his voice is all high and light. It’s just so soft 🥺. I knew this song would slap before it even came out because every song called Sunflower is a bop. Like Sunflower by Rex Orange County? A bop. Sunflower by Post Malone? A bop. And NOW, Sunflower by Harry Styles? Yes please!!!!! This song slaps and that’s on period.

TRACK TEN: CANYON MOON 🏔

SO I KEEP THINKING BACK TO, THE TIME UNDER THE CANYON MOOOooooOOON. This song is my FAVOURITE on the album. I used to not like it that much, but it ALSO (I’m sorry) gives me Larry vibes. There is not much to say other than that this is biggest BOP on the album. The guitar, the harmony, the whistling, this song is just so cute.

TRACK ELEVEN: TREAT PEOPLE WITH KINDNESS 🌸

This song gives me such elementary school choir vibes, but I love it. I love the chorus, and the message, and everything about it. This and Sunflower are both not my favourites, but high up. You can see the development in Harry as a person as the album continues, the line “feeling good in my skin, I just keep on dancing” just made me so happy because I was so satisfied with the feeling that Harry is finally HAPPY and CONFIDENT. When he kept saying “it’s ok”, no joke, I started SOBBING. OMG and at the end when he was just screaming??? Literally the best. This song is just incredible.

TRACK TWELVE: FINE LINE 🌈

This. Song. Makes. Me. Cry. EVERYTIME. The message is incredible, the instrumentals, the instruments used, his voice, the metaphors used, I just love everything about it. This song has no flaws. You can even hear his confidence and happiness grow as the song goes on. The song starts of quiet and soft, and it grows to full on trumpets, drums, echoes, high notes... the whole thing is just impeccable. He ended the album by saying “we’ll be alright” and I literally DON’T KNOW WHY but those 3 words made me start sobbing... again. There are like 10 seconds of just nothing at the end of the song, no singing, no instruments, nothing, but those 10 seconds add so much, and I never skip them even though I’m not listening to anything. Whenever I listen to this song I need those 10 seconds to just process how good this song is. Some may complain about this song being “too long”, but honestly I wish this song lasted forever.

What a night. You went out to that little Italian bar that you’ve been hanging out at with your mom and whoever else and you posted a story and I ssw what you were doing and who you are with. I didn’t text you that night but I had already text you 1 million times that afternoon and made an ass of myself so I didn’t text you after like 5pm. You called me at 2:18am. And you wanted to talk and I was sound asleep. So you called again three minutes later and I picked up because I heard it.. and you were talking to your roommate but I didn’t realize it was speaker phone.. so when you asked me about kissing I said I kissed you sober. Rommate heard what I said duh shit got weird for a second but you didn’t hang up on me.. surprise! Roomate “went to bed” at that point bc I’m sure he couldn’t didn’t want to hear anymore of our conversation. We continued. Why idk but you went pee with me on the phone a few times. Went into your room. And we had an INCREDIBLE but awkward conversation. You call me a bore and im having a hard time keeping myself together. You make me like nervous flustered where I say shit and do shit I normally wouldn’t. Last night got a little bit freaky. You want to be in control. And I see that. I felt that off the bat. You’re in charge. You can have ANYTHING you want. And apparently, it would be me if things were different with the homies... And we need more compatibility this is just a sexual attraction. You blocked me on Facebook. We got into it about the post I made- America is lucky black people don’t take revenge on America. Started with race and you went off.

You didn’t want to be wrong so you just kept going and going until you blocked me. It didn’t bother me first but I laughed. It really bothered me that you would do that once I realized why. You said I referred to America as (K k k)America and no I didn’t. And to the end of times I’ll always say I didn’t. Because I didn’t. But still you deleted me for it. So I text you and asked you “you really did delete me you did. You fucking blocked me”. I was so upset I actually cried but I went to Instagram and saw you didn’t delete me there. So I didn’t really panic. We were going to the boneyard that night. It was just supposed to be like the four of us. But it turned out to be a party like so many people so you didn’t show up until a little after 10. Of course I noticed but tried not to talk to you. I said hi and didn’t say much else the rest of the night. We definitely locked eyes at least three times but I’m always staring at you. You literally have this face that just makes me want to stare at you. Anytime I’m around you I constantly want your attention. I want you to talk to me. I want your intelligence. I don’t want you to think I’m stupid. Because I’m not. But you are probably right, I have been misinformed and haven’t made the conscious effort to make politics a part of my life. But that doesn’t mean that I can’t change direction and care about your passions. It’s funny that you think I could have nothing to do with it now because why? Because I don’t talk about politics all the time or no everything that you know? So strange. But Saturday you, your roommate and The Homie were hanging out at your house and The Homie passed out. So your roommate called me and told me to come over and “wake up The Homie” so I said no. Within five minutes he text me come over. I asked if you were joking. Took lyft. I came over late around 1:25 in the morning so it’s Sunday at this point and we hung out at the house until around 5:30 in the morning. After that we left and went to The Homies gmas house to continue. We left around 930/10 AM. But you and I weren’t tired. You literally had me passing that back to you all night and I couldn’t believe I was even doing it. As soon as I got home when The Homie drop me off I checked my phone and you had text me maybe I could sneak in. I was not down with that idea it was super sketchy definitely scary I said no like five times but it’s not like I wanted to say no! That’s why I came. I hate saying no to you. I don’t know what it is about you I really don’t. And I know that you probably just consider me someone you want to fuck but it’s hard to explain the way I don’t get it myself. So after about an hour of back-and-forth, I came over. I parked down the street near the elementary school like you told me to and walked down the block to see you standing outside waiting for me. There is nothing I wouldn’t do to try to be with you. I think you’re the most complex person I’ve ever met and you make me better just communicating with me. We were trying to hide it and obviously we got caught By roommates mom and we just went into your room laid down cuddled I fell asleep. You woke up and I woke up in an hour of sleep to put on my glasses look at your phone there wasn’t much else that happened.. your room small your bed small you have a lot of stuff. I was grateful to be in your space. That close to you. I couldn’t really go anywhere I finally woke up around like 530pm to pee and it was awful. I saw The Homie and roommate was there and that’s all bad. I put my stuff on to leave and you asked me not to leave you said “please don’t” so I laid back down with you until about 730/8 maybe even 830. My mom had been texting me to do something for her so I had to leave. We had woken up around like 4pm to the pit bikes and went right back to sleep. You had your back turned to me a lot and I took that hard. You used your weighted blanket and I used an entirely separate one. I was so sweaty, so uncomfortable in my skin, and my heart was facing a mile a minute so I was shaking. You always make fun of me for that. But you also make me nervous as fuck. So I couldnt calm down for hours. When I finally look at my phone my mom wasn’t the only one that text me. The Homie did too. And I fucking tripped. I didnt text back. ok first of all. so last night/this morning i had another date w joel so here is how it went

so i got to joels apartment around 6 or 7pm. this time he hugged and kissed me as soon as i got through the door so that was better. we talked and i watched him play overwatch while i rubbed his belly. then we went out for sushi and this is the part i was worried about bc it was our first time going out together

so...it went well! it was only my second time ever having sushi but it went well. i was nervous about eating in front of him at first but i got comfortable quickly. then he took me to his school and gave me a campus tour for like no reason. it was cute bc i liked walking around w him. but also i was kinda :/ bc his school is so pretty and he is so involved on campus meanwhile i literally do nothing on mine but go to class and gsa. it made me kinda wish i went to a bigger school but oh well 

then we went back home and i watched him play kh birth by sleep on his ps4 which was fun. then we watched this movie called gantz, it was weird as fuck but kinda nice i guess, he made me popcorn and he let me try this baguette that he made. i kissed him a lot like when he was playing and stuff i would kiss him on the cheek or on the forehead and he would make the cutest smile and omg it was too much

then we cuddled in bed and tried to go to sleep. it was kinda hot in his room (idk why he didnt turn his ac on) so we couldnt cuddle too much. we fell asleep at 2am and i woke up at like 7:48am. but joel slept until like noon AND THEN he was awake for a few min and then went back to sleep until i left at 2:30!!! i was sooooooooooo bored like i was just laying there going on my phone, staring at the ceiling, and trying to fall back asleep. it was so fucking boring BUT the part when he woke up made up for it bc he is SOOOOOOOOOOO cute when he first wakes up bc hes like quiet and v affectionate and his hair is all messy and i love it. when he was falling back asleep after waking up at noon he turned the ac on and wanted to cuddle so that was nice, i got to hold him put his hand in mine and all that stuff so that was enjoyable. but afterwards i got so bored i was sick of waiting for him to wake up so i woke him up myself to tell him that i had to go home (i didnt have to i just wanted to) so he got all affectionate again and i lied and said i had a v good time last night/ this morning (i enjoyed last night but this morning was boring af since he kept sleeping!!!) so then i left

this is not related to that other stuff but ive also noticed that ive become super like jealous and/or possessive when it comes to men :/ i wasnt like this when i was with caleb so i thinking its fair to assume that the way things ended w caleb made me like this. like when joel was showing me around his school he ran into his friend (who is at least moderately attractive, objectively speaking) so he said hi and i got like kinda angry?? i didnt show it OBV like i just kept smiling and being polite. and like idk if its jealousy or being possessive or both! like i cant help but compare myself to joel so when i see him having so many friends i get so jealous since i dont have that many! and its also possessive bc like i get paranoid, thinking like “what if joel thinks this guy is hotter than me and tries to get with him” like 1. i know i shouldnt compare myself to others when it comes to social things bc thats just setting myself up for failure and 2. joel should obv be allowed to have guy friends and it doesnt mean that he automatically wants to sleep with them. but like idk i keep telling myself these things but these thoughts wont leave me alone!! and its annoying bc i dont like being possessive or jealous. i havent talked to joel about these things and i dont intend to bc i dont see how that would solve anything but like these thoughts are really draining me emotionally and its making the experience of being w joel much less enjoyable. like even with fb when i see some guy comment on joels posts im like *angry cat emoji* and its like its just his friend why am i getting mad!! like yeah i wish i had as many friends as him but like its not his fault hes better at making friends than me. so yeah i wish i could just put a stop to this and relax and enjoy my time w him :/

[ MISCARRIAGE TW ] kyong daehyun was born in daegu, south korea on the 22nd of february 1997. they were sort of a miracle baby bc their mom went through two miscarriages before them ( she’s rh negative & the babies were rh positive n ,,, i wont explain the biology behind it, im sure yall know that ). they’re an only child. they’ve always wanted a sibling ( an older one ,,,, they always want the impossible things smfh ). so yeah, they were a bit lonely while growing up

they were a very weak child who’d fall ill quite often (their family used to call them aga/aggie/babybc of it … sorta stuck with them to this day ), so much that it affected their education. the poor bean skipped a lot of classes, so eventually their parents decided it was best for them to leave school. they were homeschooled !! altho they now have incredible work ethic bc of this, they didn’t have many friends while growing up :( they sorta didnt even get the chance to develop n test their social skills. they came in contact with their parents, nannies, parents’ business partners, etc … long story short, they were surrounded by adults. this made them VERY mature for their age, even back then.

the greatest discovery of their life was the internet. they had little interest in sports & going outside, so they’d spend their free time glued to the screen of their laptop, either watching movies, youtube videos & tv shows or getting to know strangers from across the world thanks to various websites & apps. they’d often stay up all night n ruin their sleep pattern in order to talk to their friends from other timezones. they made them so happy. so. happy.

their parents sort of made them pursuit a medical career, though, they literally have -10 interest in it. not 0. -10. they just want to make them proud, ok ?? especially since they’ve always been an incredible student n studying came easily to them. they were praised while growing up, so naturally they started thinking they were exceptional as well.

why are they obsessed with lollipops ? thanks to them they destroy their nails n cuticles LESS when bored, since their mouth is occupied. you can determine how life’s goin for daehyun just by looking at their hands. when everything’s good, their nails are painted ( the execution n design also say a lot about how much free time they have n how clear their head is ). when everything’s shit, they aren’t painted, they are bloody and sore, skin completely damaged, so much that it hurts to touch items with the very tips of their fingers. everything burns n they’re wincing 25/8.

they always have literally everything with them. you need a tissue, a comb, a hair brush, a band-aid, a hand sanitizer, a nail polish, some water, something sweet, a set of stem cells & a cure for every illness in the world ?they have it all. they’re always prepared for every situation. this is bc of their huge fear of facing a situation for the first time unprepared. also … you should never make them order food on their own or make a serious phone call or wtvr bc .. they can’t do that.

they’re fluent in english, but pls don’t throw big words at them :( they feel so embarrassed when they don’t know what something means. they go home & write the new word on one of their colourful cards, along with its translation to korean, a smol explanation & an example sentence n they have loads of those cards that they reread whenever they have time. when they learn a new word, they love showing off lmao dumbass

while they were back in korea n spending time on youtube, they used to watch a lot of kpop mvs + makeup tutorials n fell in love with makeup n wanted to look as beautiful as the people in those videos. they started stealin their mother’s makeup n used to be awful at paintin’ their face, but got better with time. they used to save money for eyeliners n primers n highlighters n all sort of shit n they’d hide all the products in their room n play with them whenever they were home alone. they know it’s their true passion& call, but they are so discouraged by the fact that they can’t even walk outside wearing makeup. they aint confident enough & still don’t think they can pull it off.

Episode #3: “This tribe can literally suck my left nut.” - Toby

Well after goofing my confessional days (sorry hosts who have to figure that one out.) I got an alliance chat together so that we can communicate without goofing up the challenge the only downside is that we haven't started yet due to nobody being on. (The sucky thing of people having different timezones.)

I'm hoping we can pull another win out of this challenge, I'm trying to just keep things casual overall, I can't exactly start making big moves or anything out of the gate. (Making this 4-man alliance is as big as it's gonna get for now.)

Just gotta stay low, do my part in challenges, and work social magic on people... ew did I really try to tell myself that I have social magic?

I feel like a loser. Even though I was saved. I can be stubborn sometimes and it makes me look bad. I hate that.

oh? you want to hear about my master strategy? the one where i vote for odd instead of logan? well, it's actually a really complicated plan that involves: 1. voting early because i was about to go into a really long class that i cant use my phone in 2. that's it.   this is only the FIRST step that leads to me skillfully placing myself in the FTC where i win by a vote of 8-0-0.

hi.......... so immunity challenge isn't going too well... half of our 24 hours is up and we're on 67. i mean that's mainly because no one was awake when i was so i really expect everyone to be popping off when im sleeping.... i don't want to go to tribal at all (even less than if it were to just be our tribe going to tribal, despite us having the numbers) because i can see this flipping on us somehow... or an idol being played or some shiz. hopefully,,,,,,,,, the other losing tribe if we go really aren't close and don't have our ~incredible~ group morale so the chance of an idol being played is minimised.... i can't really do anything rn except be optimistic and help with immunity but no one is on! ughhhhh if i dont get to play my legacy myself im gonna be s0000000 sad. i think if i go i'll give it to andrea bc i mean i knew louise beforehand but it isn't that fair to give it her because of pre-existing relationships... and andrea's a queen so.

Well we got into the challenge a little late unfortunately. I'm also worried I might be acting more... leaderly than I wanted to coming in, but hopefully I'm garnering more respect and appreciation rather than Oh, he's bossy, or Oh, he's good at this he's a threat, etc etc.

Ideally we wanna avoid that double tribal, but if we go then we'll just hopefully stay 6 strong, because I mean if we don't that means our tribe has a snake, which would suck.

I'm hoping to keep my, overall casually gameplay up, though my social game is lacking a bit, if I talk a bit more with people I think I'll be able to get people on board the Kori train.

We are currently at 420 as a score and I kinda hope it stays that way lawllll I doubt we are going to win but I honestly wouldn't mind some excitement as far as a tribal council will go. If we lose we will have 6 going against whatever other tribe we are againsts 5. So I wouldn't by any means say this is being thrown because we have all been trying however nobody has really been panicking today which is fun. I have really enjoyed talking with Big Z as we have been getting these numbers in together the last few hours, and am hoping if we swap together we will have a good connection going forward. I want to make everyone feel good and comfortable working with me

A combined tribal council... I really don't know how to feel. I'm already set for tribal council tonight, but I just want to know who will be attending alongside us. Like, its just something that is so defeatist and shit, but like if you fuck up on 203 out of all numbers and its just you and one other person... that's concerning.

Like that is my mood when I woke up. We lost at the number 203. Probably the other tribes are in the high 1000s and idk. I'm just begging for the worst at this point.

No idea what's gonna happen, and based on the vague implications, I think we might be seeing a swap of some kind perhaps of 2 tribes of 7 plus one person exiled.

ALTERNATIVELY It's a live challenge next... both have me mildly stressed but I'm ready to embrace either with open arms.

My patience grows thin with each passing hour that these Zosma's dont answer my one about this vote. At this point, Im gon a throw out a name to my Auva's and call it a day. But then again, Dylan and Odd are too awol to be trusted- thus aggravating me a little more. So if this is my final confessional of the season, better give me that OTTN5 edit.

Y e e t h a w 🤠 Toby flopped in the counting challenge that I was ready to go the distance for & I’m not exactly sitting pretty for this joint tribal. I have a feeling that I could be targeted by Auva just because from an outsider’s perspective, I’ve done well in the past few challenges. There’s a lot of speculation that we’re gonna swap after this round, so I want Auva to know that I personally want to work with them in the future. Then together we can lower Revati’s numbers since they’re a bit too stronk right now. Drew T. tells me that himself, Drew H. & Roxy have been more on the “livelier” side as opposed to Odd & Dylan, whom I presume are on the bottom. Apparently Odd argued with the hosts as he was in the middle of a timed challenge & has rubbed some people the wrong way. So...why don’t we just vote out Odd for that reason? All I need to do is convince one person from Auva to flip & we avoid going to rocks, but I’m not shying away from rocks either. Dani said she’d go to rocks if Louise or I were in jeopardy, Roxy doesn’t want to kill me, Drew H. wants to play this game with me, & Drew T. let me know I wasn’t receiving votes. Maybe it isn’t the end of the world?

Toby finally found out that the idol was hidden under 39 & someone had already found it. I decided to stick to my guns by not claiming I have it because that only gives people incentive to vote you out. I have been leading Zosma’s votes which isn’t the position I’d ideally like to be in, but no one else is stepping up to the plate. I make my Odd pitch & say that we should tell the rest of Auva that they should vote out someone disposable to them instead of going to rocks for that person. Zosma & Auva are stubbornly solidifying themselves against the other for this vote, but I believe I could get Drew T. to flip. If not then I guess I’ll be drawing for rocks. :o

I want to make a longer one when I get home but for now im ready to did to rocks and join my boy jack in the robbed premerge with 0 votes club YEEEEEEEEET

Joint tribal is interesting. I think it will just be a tie. We will see.
