gnf cooking stream highlights
saw some people say they wouldn’t be able to watch george’s cooking stream because of school/work so i took note of some things that happened (with very rough timestamps. like really rough and it happened ~around~ that time) so they could relate to jokes/etc being made on the dashboard/timeline without having to watch the entire 4 hours of the stream immediately :) hope this is helpful in any way ? lol

before I forget, 4/29/21:

today is officially may 1st, but on 4/29/21 i had clinicals again. Last day of clinicals for fundamentals N301! almost wrapping up the 1st sem of nursing school here. 📚👩🏻💻🩺 it’s a weird feeling.
Anyway, I didn’t really have much sleep the night before clinicals, so I woke up super drowsy 😴 (as always). I left the apartment a little later than I usually do- hit both green and red lights this time, so I was thinking ‘ok, maybe today won’t be as great today. maybe it’ll be half and half.’
Arriving to the parking lot, I walked with shelly down to the facility. today was my med pass day! I was nervous, but I’m happy to say it was a good experience. I’m happy it were only Haley and I left to pass out meds - and we passed out a lot!
Sheila, our wonderful nurse, directed me to take vitals for 1B, and so I did. It’s been a long time since I’ve done vitals on a patient by myself, so I took a super long time getting respirations (ughhh). Afterwards, Kristan gave Haley and I our list of meds to look at. ‘Not too bad...’ I thought, but still nervous. I went first.
I’m so glad Haley was my partner, I wouldn’t have it any other way. She’s so great and smart and knowledgable but also realistic and just so real at the same time. She’s going to be a great future nurse. She helped me do my med check at the bedside while Kristan was passing me my meds 💊. I popped meds from a burst-pack for the first time lol and of course, I had to drop one on the floor. But it’s alright! Discarded that one 🚮. Meds were delivered ✅: right patient, right time, right med, right dose, right route, right documentation, and right reason.
After that, Haley got to pass meds to her patient. I watched her techniques on how she administered them to a drowsy and non-talkative patient (basically just talk at a good volume and guide them through it. offer lots of fluids. give them a choice still).
THEN.... I got to deliver meds into a G-tube patient for the first time (!!!). I was NOT expecting to do that lol. I got to see what it was like to apply a lidocaine patch, see her Fentanyl patch, see her G-tube location and if there’s any abnormalities; give her her nebulizer/breathing treatment.
(Note to self: before administering anything in the G-tube --
ALWAYS note input!
Add syringe 💉 FIRST to port BEFORE opening port. Port to tube feeding is OFF
Flush first (mL) -- w/ water, I guess 🚰
For the meds -- crush, mix with whatever medication (if possible), and dilute a little bit w/ water. Mix with syringe.
Add meds to med port.
Flush again with some more water, noting volume
Turn port OFF. Place back to feeding port?)
Man, I even gave her morphine. That’s some next level stuff for me for a first try lol. For the nebulizer, I got to piece it together and try to give it to her. Only thing to note for that is that it stays on for about 5-15 mins; 10 mins average.⏱
What else happened...
I asked Kristan a crap ton of questions, lol. She laughed at my small sticky note 📒with questions on it. My questions were in regards to the IM injection, ethics committee & who to consult, uhh… fall risk patients and padded floor mats (what counts as a fall?), care plan with health care team members only, union, NSO, and… I can’t remember 😫.
Other things I got to do that day were to change a wound dressing and to help irrigate it (notes: add chuck underneath and re-dress with gauze in an ‘X’ formation). Stage 4 is unknown… I think. That was cool. I also got to do a bladder scan on a patient and that was also cool (bladder scan for urine retention OR if they’re not producing enough urine; seeing how much is left over in the bladder post urination and if that is due to retention or not enough fluid output). Our patient for the bladder scan was Greek and she was sooooo funny. What a savage. You can tell she’s lived a good life and was very satisfied with her way of living.
Hm. I think after that we kind of had a post conference and then I asked more of my questions. We spilled all the tea ☕️ on Renea the devil 👺 and found out that Kristan is classmates with her. Learned from Kristan some life lessons about the healthcare system and nursing bullying. It’s gonna happen, but the best response is to do what you can do. Afterwards, I walked around with some of my group mates, and ultimately it just became Shelly & I trying to figure out what to do next. We went to find Sheila and asked her if we could watch her and she said yes! She asked us to set up another nebulizer and then she showed us a couple of things: wound approximation, insulin pen, med room, crash cart. She was very passionate about showing us these things. I’m glad we met her. There was also a patient who seemed kind of sad and lonesome.. I never got her name, but I wish I spent more time with her during our last day to give her some comfort and take away some of that loneliness. 😢
I think… after that, that was pretty much it? It was a very nice learning opportunity that day and stress free. I wish I could have learned more. Shelly and I said goodbye to the two patients we loved (Greek lady and lonely lady), and we finally found Sheila to say goodbye to. She teared up as we thanked her. “Goodluck to you guys. You’re going to do great.” 🤍
When Shelly and I left, I told her how I wanted to tell Derick “goodbye,” but I was not able to find him. So leaving the facility without saying bye to the friend I made felt really… mmm, idk the word? No closure? Incomplete maybe. “Eh it’s okay. He probably doesn’t care anyway LOL,” Shelly laughed. “That’s true,” I said back. And with that, we went to the parking lot.
Madison and Jazel waited for us while everyone else already left for home. It was probably around 13:50? I got a few missed calls from Frank, who texted me ‘Hi’. It’s been a long time since I’ve heard from that person. Anyway, Shelly suggested the idea of eating out for lunch since it was our last day of clinical and so we decided to carpool in my car and go somewhere nearby (we went to Cava). It was fun to get lunch with them. I just remember laughing a lot about stupid stuff from clinical and random stuff in general). We drove to and back listening to blank space and a thousand miles lol. I felt bad for playing the music too loud.
By the time 14:45 ish came, I drove them back to the clinical facility parking lot, where their cars were. As I was driving out, guess who I saw. It was Derick! He was on his way back to his car I guess, shift finished for the day. I drove up and rolled my window down with a thousand miles playing in the background.
“Thank you for all your help this semester. I really appreciated it. It was nice meeting you!”
“You’re welcome. Take care and good-luck.”
“You too!”

I drove home but with a headache singing out loud to music in the car and then admiring the skies again😭. Once I got home, I showered and took a nap. Around 19:30, Issac arrived and we watched the demon slayer movie again!

Alright so here’s the requested (and promised) sequel/continuation of A Flight to Remember. I know my ship list mentions that I wouldn’t do multi-part stuff (mostly bc idk how to link them haha) but I’ll put this under the AFTR tag too so it shouldn’t be hard to find. Didn’t mention this in the first part, but reader is probably 19 or 20, so not at the legal drinking age in America sorry. Also referenced but not mentioned in the original, but this is set in a timeline starting on a Wednesday and the dinner is Thursday (idk why it’s just what I went with)

You got home no more than ten minutes after leaving what you were now calling the “Holland Crew.” You were also already planning what you would wear and do tomorrow night for dinner.
The first person you called was your friend to let her know why the text you sent her from the airport was incomplete. You explained how you met the boys but chose to leave out the whole “going to dinner at your favorite casual restaurant tomorrow night with your all time celebrity crush” thing. You knew that if you told her, she would tell others who lived in your town who would probably show up at the restaurant just for a photo op, and you knew that would be a bad experience for everyone.
“Omg!! Y/n! Why didn’t you tell me sooner?”
“Seriously? I left the airport ten minutes ago! What more do you want?”
You also felt the need to call your parents about it, since they too were out of town, leaving you home alone until Sunday. It was only right that they knew you would be hanging with technical strangers, and that these “strangers” were incredibly famous.
Just as you expected, your mother worried about you going out with 3 young British men while your dad congratulated you for making a Hollywood hottie swoon over you.
Once finishing your conversations, you hopped into the shower to get the grimy feeling of traveling off your body and to wash the hair that you could feel getting more oily by the minute under your hat.
After your long, much needed, shower, you slowly dressed and decided to let your hair air dry. You figured that being home alone had its perks, and this was one of them. Air drying your hair was a daunting task that often took at least an hour, but you knew you wanted to straighten your hair again tomorrow and blow drying it would put your hair under too much stress.
The hour it took for your hair to dry consisted of dancing around your house excitedly once the fact that you had met, and were going to dinner with, Tom Holland and his little crew had set in. Towards the end of that hour, you saw a notification from an unknown number show up on your phone.
“Hey, y/n! It’s Harrison (aka Haz, for future reference) and I just wanted to discuss tomorrow night with you some more. Tom can’t stop talking about you ;) P.S. I got your number from his phone, so don’t be weirded out by this when you see it.”
You smiled to yourself as you added Haz to your contacts list. It wasn’t every day you got to say you had the phone numbers of two well-known actors, not that you’d be sharing them anytime soon, though. You sat down on the couch to reply to Harrison, detailing the next night’s events and asking Harrison for his opinion on how you should dress.
“Come on man! It’s not every day you get the cute boy’s wingman/bff on your side!! You know his type!”
“Y/n, if he truly likes someone, he has absolutely no care whether she’s in old sweats or a cocktail dress. Though he does like a little bit of leg…”
With that, you decided on the navy floral halter dress you had been saving to wear for a date. It wasn’t anything skimpy, only hitting just above the knees, but it was sleeveless and flowed out a little at the bottom, which complimented your body well. You hung the dress up and set below it a pair of flat, white sandals that paired well with the look. You weren’t one for heels, mostly because you enjoyed the freedom of movement without them, but also because there was many a time where you had humiliated yourself in them.
You turned in early that night, hoping that a full night’s rest would leave you glowing the next day.
You awoke at 8:34 a.m. on Thursday and rolled out of bed, heading straight for the bathroom as always. Once out, you checked your phone for new messages. There were at least 20, all from only 3 friends. You rolled your eyes and shook your head, your friend you had called yesterday had obviously let these 3 girls know, and they couldn’t believe what they had heard.
“OMG!! Y/N! WHY DIDNT YOU CALL ME??? I THOUGHT I WAS YOUR BFF?”
“GIRL. You met TOM HOLLAND?? AND DIDNT TELL ME?!?”
“Omg y/f/n just told me you met Tom Holland and I swear to God if she was lyin…”
You rolled your eyes and replied to each about how yesterday was tiring and all you wanted to do was come home and sleep. They definitely couldn’t know about tonight. One invited you to dinner tonight to tell them all about yesterday, so you covered, saying how your parents were gone and wanted you to clean up the house while you were home alone, and you would need to catch up on work stuff before Monday rolled around. You hated lying to your friends, even if some of what you said was true. (Your parents had been serious about cleaning up the house)
You checked the clock, which read 8:58.
T minus 10 hours until you saw the boys again, so obviously you needed to start getting ready.
You started by doing your hair, a task that also took quite a bit of time. You turned on the TV for background noise as you began straightening your hair in layers. At the half-way point, you took a break to toast yourself a bagel and grab a sparkling water for breakfast. Once finishing on your hair, you went to work cleaning up the living room for your parents. By the time you were done, it was almost 11:00. Only 8 hours left to prepare for the night.
You spent those 8 hours overthinking everything, from what you would say to how early you would show up to the restaurant to the underwear you were planning on wearing beneath your dress.
At 4:00, you touched up your hair and swiped on some mascara and a little bit of foundation. You were never one to wear makeup, and most of the time you opted to just not wear it. Even though the boys had seen you 100% makeup-less yesterday, it still felt nice to do yourself up just a little bit to raise your spirits.
You dressed yourself at 5:45, finally deciding on that one strapless bra and those black underwear for a confidence boost. You waited until 6:30 to strap on your sandals, seeing as you wouldn’t need to leave the house until 6:40 and you honestly preferred being barefoot above anything else.
You gave yourself another once-over in the mirror before checking your little cross-body purse to make sure you had your wallet, phone, keys, and anything else you might need for an emergency. After that, you were off to the restaurant, your mind buzzing and left foot tapping against the floorboard as you tried to keep your right root from flooring the pedal out of anxiousness.
You sat in your car and gave one last deep breath once you had pulled into the parking lot, heart racing faster than you could ever remember before. It wasn’t just the fact that you were meeting your celebrity crush and his equally amazing pals for dinner tonight that got you; it was the fact that you hadn’t been on a date in quite a while and you knew you were probably just a little rusty.
With that thought, you pushed open the door, and headed off towards the front of the building, ready to dive into what would hopefully be the best night of your life.
A/N: Haha wow am I the worst or what? I know this totally didn’t even feature Tom but don’t worry, the next part will. I decided to make this more than a two-shot like I had planned because I just had too many ideas to cram it into two parts. I hope to get the next (and maybe final??) part out within the coming week, but we shall see. Tbh I’ll probably end up doing what I did with this one and write the first 3 words tonight after I post and then not finish until 9 pm next Sunday wHOoPs.

- went for another blood test (second one)
- long shower
- started watching netflix’s show “explained” and leftover hoagie for lunch
- learned wii fit trainer for smash
- played smash online for... 4 hours
- packing for chicago/seattle
- dinner with the fam at e. buffet without sheena :’(
- fortnite with bryan/josh (attempted but servers down)
- smash doubles with sheena
today i:
- woke up at 7:45 ish when my dad woke me up. i had my alarm set for 8am
i quickly got out of bed, grabbed my blood test papers and then took the car to leave. i needed to go asap cause my mom needed the car to drive to work
- went to the lab and waited for about 10 minutes after checking in. then got called in by the same woman who took my blood last time. her assistant wasn’t there this time though. i asked her to do it on my right arm this time cause i think my left arm is still recovering. this time she didn’t have to wiggle it around, it was a quick in and out and done drawing blood within 30 seconds
- drove back home and got back around 9am. my mom took the car and drove out to work. then i chilled for a while, watching some youtube videos. daniela andrade made a new song!!

- took a long shower from 9:30-10:30am
- started my laundry so that i could pack it for later tonight
- i called BU to figure out my student account inquiry cause they were still charging me for an apartment plan even though i graduated. the person on the phone said the payment will be cleared by 5pm today so i was like oh okay cool
- went downstairs to eat lunch which was my leftover chicken salad hoagie and fries. and then i browsed netflix and found a show called “explained”, which was a collab with vox. i forgot i wanted to watch this from a while back. i watched the first episode on music, which was super cool to learn and watch. i love it it’s like vox videos but 5 times longer. they’re usually 4-5 minutes but each episode is 20 minutes
- around 1pm i decided to try to learn a new character so i just randomly picked... wii fit trainer. i watched tkbreezy’s video on it at 1.5x speed. it was 38 minutes long and i spent like 25 minutes watching it/practicing in training mode
then i played online and got wii fit trainer to elite smash. then i was like... hmm i guess i’ll try to get ike into elite smash. then that worked pretty quickly. i got lucky i think. cause i got matched up against relatively bad/okay ish players so even though i didn’t practice ike, i was doing okay. then i was like... i guess i’ll try dedede. then got him into elite smash. learning dedede was very weird. also got lucky cause i wasn’t playing that well honestly. but the other players weren’t too great either and i got through and won. he has such a weird style of gameplay. then got inkling into elite smash. that was not too bad cause i played him before on the alt acc to elite smash. also i played against this really good ness, it was super fun. we kept saying “well played.” “good fight!” and other friendly taunts. elite smash cutoff right now is like 3.5mil GSP and most of the characters i have started around 3.2mil GSP
- started packing around 5pm. it was snowing all afternoon so i was gonna go outside to shovel some snow (it was like an inch maybe?) but dad came home around 4:30pm and created some basic paths. so i was like oh okay i’ll just go pack then
packed up all my clothes, drone and camera stuff
- went upstairs and wasn’t sure what to do so i tried to play falco to get him to elite smash. falco is... so weird compared to smash 4. he’s completely changed and i kind of don’t really like it. his jump is so sensitive, i can’t short hop consistently. also his moves feel so different from smash 4 >:( i played from 6-7pm. around 6:50pm i got kind of sick of playing so much smash today and was gonna take a break and watch another episode of explained, but mom came home so we were like okay dinner time
- we were gonna go to a steakhouse near us for dinner. sheena stayed after school for rehearsal and went to eat dinner with her friends. when we got to the steakhouse, the wait was 45 minutes.. so we were like, i guess we could just go to e. buffet, so we went there instead :p i ate more fried foods this time cause i was feeling more americanized food. like chicken fingers, fries, etc. nice filling meal
- got back home, took a shower and cut my nails
- i hopped on discord to play fortnite with bryan and josh around 9:30pm. chris also joined too. but then we tried to start the game and they said the servers were down for emergency maintenance... rip. we tried to play survive.io but it was only 50v50 and no squads :o
i started typing up this blog post while chatting on discord. we were just trying to figure out what other games to play. sheena just came back around 10pm and we’re gonna play some smash doubles and then i’m gonna go to sleep
gotta wake up at 7am tomorrow morning!
it’s 10:36pm and sheena’s playing solos right now with zelda but i’m gonna join her in doubles
also health update: had bowel movement in the morning and one at night. both times small ish stools but at least no watery stuff. but when i wipe there’s some watery-ness to it :o idk what that means
okay the end. trip begins tomorrow!
