ylfvaaa do you have any makeup and skincare recs 😭 im trying to get into skincare but i have no idea where to start, i see a lot of people hyping up korean skincare but idk what products live up to the hype. and i need new makeup badly but im scared of ordering a primer and then it sucks yknow. you seem really knowledgeable so if you can help me out it’d be much appreciated <3

hi anon. before i get into this i love you. i love when people ask me about this kinda stuff. makes me so happy. cosmetic chemistry autism.

ALSO to get your primer thing out of the way: i dont rlly use it but ive heard good things about the ELF one and my sister swears by the NYX one and her base is rlly good. so.

also i'd look on the following websites / stores:

sephora for western brands / mainstream kbeauty yesstyle for korean and japanese stuff chic decent or individual websites for chinese beauty (i usually get mine in person tho)

OK FIRST OF ALLL. starting w skincare.

i would break down your routine into three main parts: -cleansing -moisturizing / hydrating -SPF

if you wanna get fancy, you can do exfoliation between cleansing and hydrating. but you really dont have to do that if u dont want to

first: cleansing

if you wanna wear makeup you should have a good way to take it off. no. no put the makeup wipes down. they aren't efficient and u will go through SO many of them. and they're a pain and can irritate ur skin w all the wiping (trust me on this one LOL)

i would recommend using an oil based product for this!! melts ur makeup OFFFF like crazy + even if you don't use makeup it will leave ur skin super clean ^__^ ALSO you should apply this to DRY SKIN and wash it off with lukewarm water (the oil emulsifies w water and also very cold water can make it harder to remove)

if you want an oil-based makeup remover for quick removal w a cotton pad: clinique take the day off (47cad ) this one is expensive tbh and isn't as effective as the others BUT. it takes a lot less energy to use + can be done quickly. if you want a cleanser that will take off your makeup incredibly well while washing ur face: kose softymo speedy cleanser (18cad) this is my absolute FAV. i use it allll the time it works so so well and ive reccomended it to tons of ppl before and theyve all liked it. if you want a cleansing balm for heavier makeup: clean-it zero cleansing balm original (30cad) i haven't tried this one myself, but i've heard VERY good things about it.

next i would follow that up with a water based cleanser (so foaming or gel). this will help to wash away all the stuff that the oil cleanser has loosened up and will wash away leftover oil cleanser.

my FAVOURITE is the senka perfect whip cleanser (14.50cad) i adore this stuff!! ive heard some people find it very drying but i havent had that issue? idk i've also heard good things about this beauty of joseon green plum gel cleanser (14.70 cad) but i haven't used it myself. huge fan of BOJ tho!!

(this is the part where you would exfoliate if you wanted to. for a chemical exfoliant i use the giant bottle of clinique stuff my aunt got me but its not worth the price tbh. u could also try the beauty of joseon apricot peeling gel (14.70cad) IF your skin can handle it. its a physical exfoliant tho so be careful. i also enjoy the pixi glow tonic. u can get this at like shoppers or cvs or somethign idk)

second: hydrating and moisturizing

okay so. this is super important if you do a lot of makeup and thus have to wash it away thoroughly.

i start with a hydrating toner. this helps to add water to your skin and smooth it (adding water before moisturizer is a good idea bc the moisturizers will both add moisture and lock in hydration from any prev products)

i use the the I'm from rice toner (38 cad but on sale rn) which is my absolute absolute FAAAV toner. super hydrating super perfect and beautiful. stunning. (you've probably seen people talk about the cosrx snail mucin, and it is nice i will admit. but do NOT use it if you are allergic to shellfish or dust, apparently. also apply it right after your hydrating toner, it needs to be on wet skin)

then i go in with a moisturizer!! i like to use ones with niacinimide or other humectants.

my go-to is the innisfree jeuju cherry blossom dewey glow jelly (35cad) she's so important to meee <3 love her. all time fav. it is SCENTED tho, so if you don't like that, try: beauty of joseon red bean water gel (17.80cad) super lightweight and has no noticeable scent. ive heard very good things and my friend is trying it soon ^__^

finally: SPF

this is THE most important step. sunscreen. wear sunscreen.

apply your sunscreen under your makeup in the morning, and throughout the day. if you wanna reapply using a sun stick, that's great!!! but don't use a sun stick as your ONLY protection.

also i'd avoid pure mineral sunscreens unless you have a legit allergy to chemical ones. mineral sunscreens are not as good and a lot of the marketing is iffy. also they leave a white cast which is esp noticeable on darker skin. mineral + chemical ones are usually fine tho :-)

my fav sunscreen is the biore UV aqua rich watery gel / watery essence (26cad) legit the best feeling sunscreen i have EVER used. my friends who hate sunscreen like this one. there's also the beauty of joseon rice probiotic releif sun cream (24cad) which is very nice too!! not my fav but a lot of people swear by it for reapplying throughout the day, i would use the beauty of joseon matte sun stick (24cad). ive heard super good things but ihavent tried it cause im finishing my other sun stick rn lol

this is all fairly basic stuff since u said you were new to it, but i can also go thru some less necessary, more fancy products if you ever need.

as for makeup, my favourite brands are:

and i've heard really good things about / want to try:

I just saw jawan on netflix.

it was mid.

If you're opening your movie with a white saviour trope I just ain't gonna be with it. I know srk isn't white so that trope name doesn't apply but that trope DOES apply.

Oh, these mountainside village folk take care of this strange man who washed ashore? And we see in detail the homeopathic treatment he's getting from a literal staff bearing village elder to treat his wounds? And then we cut to 3 months later without any development or anything as to who these villagers are? and then suddenly there's a carnival of violence committed against these villagers (who btw look ethnically nothing like the prominent characters in the movie.)?

And then we see the village elder praying to his deity statue and we get the tried and tested Indian movie trope of 'Won't you send anyone, anyone to save us dear god' and it cuts to SRK's hands twitching. and then he stands high up on a rock and his silhouette looks like the deity the village elder was praying to. And then I literally skipped past 2 minutes of the action scene following this as he kills all the unnamed randos who were murdering these villagers.

Like... Hey. Movie. Is it ok if I call you movie? You set the tone, you set what your vibe is, you set everything up to be exactly what I do not gel with. But you're also a mass masala flick by Atlee. I understand that. That's your identity. So I have to, despite myself, turn part of my mind off and then watch as you play up your 'messages' to the audience.

But like I'm already rolling my eyes at your opening so I know for sure it'll take a lot for me to take you at anything other than face value. And like I get it. Maybe you don't want to be taken more than at face value. But I'm me. I'm a guy who wants to have a good time. And the only way I know how is to poke and prod beyond your surface to get into the sauce. And sadly you're no Heinz® 57 Sauces. You're barely 5.

anyway then I saw the reviews and discussions and learned that it's apparently leagues better than pathaan.

now I'm intrigued and want to see pathaan. but I know im gonna hate it.

anyway I really want to see vijay sethupathi not play a villain in big movies like these like I love his villain portrayals but man's like the best actor (big personal bias) in any joint he's in. give him something better to work with.

Omg kicks my feet. Hii hello. Umm what to talk about. I love oversharing so! Back when I first got on T, I let them take a blood sample. It wasn't needed but I was like "oh yea sure 8)!" bc it wasn't gonna cost me anything.

So, it gets done nice and quick, I get a little like gauze + tape badda bing badda boom. I went through my Whole Thing tm with insurance almost not covering my T Gel (would've literally exploded otherwise n cried).

I'm on call with my partner, to do my first dose. The T gel is drying on my arm, I'm shirtless, I get ANOTHER call. A like, restricted number/one that wasn't showing. Weird! So I tell him like, "hey I got another call?? Hold on???" I answer it, assuming it's going to be spam or a telemarketer.

Wrong!

A nurse from where I went to my appt. is calling. Uh oh!

"Is this so and so?"

"Umm yes!"

"Hello! I'm really sorry but your blood got left out too long in the locker and it froze. So it can't be used anymore. Can we reschedule you for an appointment?"

BLOOD FROZEN????? I proceed to tell her, yea of course I can reschedule. Althemeanwhile I'm in shock over "did they forget about my blood???? How does it get left out too long????? Hello?????"

I get the new appt. set up, get back on call with my partner and then retell the story.

Originally, I was gonna go back to this place in spring, 3ish months? But now I'm gonma be going back in March to get my blood taken again. Which like, I guess it'll be a way for 'em to see how T is doing atm. And then again at what would've been my truw 2nd appointment.

My dose now has been treating me good I think! But I def wouldn't want to stay at this dose foreverrrr you know? I think I'm getting changes at a nice rate, even if it feels a little slow. I'm gonna ask next time (probably at appt. 3) about switching to shots bc like Greedy Little Guy who wants T changes a little bit faster. I'm getting them!! But like, I want more you know? I'm sure too though a lot more changes have happened but bc I check in daily since I need to apply Tgel daily, I miss the littler things.

but that sounds like a whole weird ordeal omg! I get bloodwork to check my t levels maybe twice a year now but when i was first starting out it was every six weeks for the first year and i hated it soooo much.. bc ive had a lot of misc health issues i get bloodwork pretty regurally and each time i would hope that my mom would be the one taking me bc she would take me out to breakfast or dunkin after and that was the only good thing abt getting bloodwork.

weird story of my own thats kinda similar was that i have like. awful veins. like awful awful ones that they can never find and i end up getting poked a LOT when i get bloodwork. but this is worse when i have to get surgery and i have to get an iv and cant drink any water beforehand. So when i was gettin my horomone blocker implant out, i had to get an iv hooked up, which im fairly used to. but they tried for like. half an hour with every method and they could not locate a single vein and had poked me multiple times in both arms so they were eventually like. ok we’re gonna grab an ultrasound for this, its the last resort. and so they did, and my Anesthesiologist for some reason was there and helping, probably bc they were taking so long and they just wanted to get me into the OR. and so the ultrasound is like a big machine and nothing is working on it. like theyre trying over and over again. and then a nurse walks by and comes into the room and is like. hey. you have to plug it in.and that made me feel great about going into surgery lmao…

blood freezing is a new one tho, ive literally never heard of that! i know they sometimes keep it warm but ive never heard of it freezing before.. it was weird bc i actually was interviewed by a few students for an article in a yale journal about my experience transitioning as a child in my city, and it was so weird going over all this stuff that happened ages ago i didnt know where to start 0_o.. im glad t seems to be working out ok, but the first few months r always kinda rocky and weird tbh!! i dont have experience with gel but i know the changes sometimes come at a different pace than injections! i hope u get to increse ur dose soon!

Hi! Of course! I'm not a professional MUA, I only do makeup on myself, so I'm not the most experienced person, but I'll share what I know in case it's useful.

Sorry I took some time to answer your message, you got some very good questions and I thought about recording videos showing how to do some of the tips I’m talking about to then show you, but I ended up not finding time for that until now, so maybe in the future... But for now, I tried to cover everything in here, so I’m sorry for the gigantic answer. 😅

1. Shaky hands

Here are some things that I do that help me when making precise lines/shapes:

A) Support: I do my makeup on a table, not standing. And when I’m doing eyeliner, to help my hands shake less, I wether support my elbow on the table or I support the side of my hand, or my pinkie finger, on my cheeks.

B) Mirror: I use a table mirror because you don’t need to hold them, like hand mirrors, and you can easily move them, so I can place the mirror in whatever angle or distance I need. The mirror I use have a fix height tho, so to adjust its height I improvise by putting some boxes underneath. There are some more fancy mirrors that are a lot better, mirrors that move to any angle or height and ones that have light on them, but they are more expensive, so I stick with the most basic ones.

C) Visibility: I use a ring light in front of my table while doing my makeup, and the mirror I got is normal in one side and has a 2x zoom on the other side, I also got a smaller one that has a zoom of 5x. I don’t know the proper name of those kinds of mirrors, so I call them “zoom mirrors" and they are great to help you see what you’re doing more closely.

D) Breathing: I also hold my breath while drawing lines on my face and stop drawing everytime I need to breathe.

E) Product: the best types of products for eyeliner:

Powder/pressed eyeshadow: the easiest product for doing eyeliner, in my opinion, is eyeshadow because you can do looks like this one that don’t need to be super sharp and you can always use the tape technique to get the wing straight;

Gel eyeliner: most people say this is the easiest to apply, however some gel eyeliners don’t dry completely and can easily ruin your makeup, so you’ll need to research for a good one before buying;

Liquid eyeliner: it’s the hardest but the most waterproof and “transfer proof” (some gel eyeliners are also waterproof, though) because they dry faster. But the biggest secret lies on the brushes...

F) Brush: the easiest brushes to do eyeliner with are small angled ones or small flat ones, because they are easier to make straight lines with. They are great for doing eyeliner using eyeshadow or gel liner, but I never tried with liquid liner so I don’t know how well this would work to be able to inform you, sorry. 😬

G) Calm: precision requires calm and patience, so eyeliner is definitely not something you should do when you’re running late, specially if you don’t have a lot of practice yet. You have to be slow and careful until you get more confident with it, so take your time. And try not to get nervous afraid of making mistakes because you can always fix anything, just remove the part that’s messed up, reapply the foundation or concealer (if you’re using any) and try again.

H) Practice: and, of course, practice consistently. The more you try the easier it gets. I don’t have super firm hands, but I paint since I was a kid so I already know how to deal with the amount of “shakiness” of my hands (Idk if this word exists in english, but I hope it does 😅). But doing straight lines on a face is different than doing it on paper because papers are plane, faces aren’t. So the best way of learning makeup is by practicing and adapting to yourself, you need to experiment to find the products, brushes and techquines that work best for you. But yes, in this process we can spend a lot of money, so I’m gonna share a few things I do for saving money with makeup...

Things I do because I’m poor 😬: I bought myself a while ago an eyeshadow palette that has a decent variety of colors, and I use the shadows for my eyes, of course, but I also use a dark brown eyeshadow to fill my brows, a medium tone brown to contour my face, warmer browns as bronzer, pink eyeshadows as blush, and if that palette had a light shimmery shade I would use it as a highligher too. So with only one eyeshadow palette that contains some pinks and browns you can already do a lot. And I don’t use concealer, I only use an affordable medium coverage foundation that already covers my dark circles quite well (you could also do the opposite and use only concealer).

2. Brands:

I haven’t tried enough brands and also most of the brands I use are only available in my country, so if you don’t live in Brazil you probably won’t have easy access to them. But I don't think that brands actually matters, because the same brand can have both good and bad products… So I usually look for some reviews on Youtube before buying any product, specially expensive ones. But, for begginers, I think is more important to pay attention to the texture of the products: powder, creamy, liquid, gel… Powder products are usually the easiest to blend. So between creamy highlighter and powder highlighter or creamy contour and powder contour, I prefer the powder ones (like I said, I use my eyeshadows for almost everything 😅). Brushes are important too: brushes with soft hairs are good for blending and brushes with firm hairs are good for precise lines. Here is a guide from Pinterest on what each brush shape is good for.

3. Lipstick and Foundation shades:

This is a very hard one, you really have to swatch some shades to use them as reference. And you'll probably never find the perfect shade, only shades that are good enough… Kkk

A) Foundation: Some makeup stores offer swatches of the products for you to try on yourself before buying, and some brands sell swatches online (a mini version of their products), so you can buy a few to try on before buying the bigger size product. But when I'm indecided between two foundation shades, I prefer to get the lightest one because then I can apply countour or bronzer around my face to look less pale. With a darker foundation, you can apply a lighter loose powder on top to make it less dark, but I personally prefer the bronzer option.

B) Lipstick: for lipstick I would recommend you to start with browns, reds and warm pinks (preferably not so bright) because these are shades that usually look good on everyone. Here are some examples from Pinterest: Image 1, Image 2, Image 3.

4. Is foundation necessary?

Makeup is not math so there's no right or wrong (just don't wear things that give you allergy, of course 😅), you can do it however you prefer and nobody can tell you otherwise. It's your face, your style… And I've already seen a few girls on Instagram do stunning both basic and glam makeup looks with no foundation on. I personally like to wear heavy foundation bc I like my makeup to look less natural and more like a porcelain doll, but it's just my personal style preference. In my opinion, there are no rules in fashion and makeup, we make our own styles for ourselves.

6. Confidence to wear makeup

Now that's a question I can't help you a lot with bc I'm quite insecure with that too, kkk But I used to be more insecure, I couldn't even wear just a lipstick outside of my house and now I can wear basic makeup looks… but not creative ones. I wish I was brave enough to wear my most creative looks to go out, but I'm still not. 😅 I'm a very introverted person so I try not to call much attention bc if someone likes my makeup and comes talk to me about it I'll get extremelly nervous, so I like to be invisible, kkk. But what usually makes me feel more comfortable wearing makeup is to know that there are other people in the place where I am that are wearing makeup too. But specially going out with friends that are also wearing makeup. This way at least I don't feel alone, kkk. That’s how I do it.

But always remember that you're not harming anyone with your makeup, you're not commiting a crime and your personality is not defined by whatever stereotypes people have about people who wear makeup. So if somebody gets bothered with your makeup (unless you've litteraly written insults to other people on your face or something, kkk) they are overexaggerating, and this is their problem to fix, not yours. Other people don’t have to like your style, what matters is that you are feeling cool in what you’re wearing and nobody is being forced to look at you, so there’s nothing to feel bad about. And I know this is easier said than done, but let’s repeat it to ourselves until it we learn it. 😅

hello its time for curly hair care with me! (im only like, a week late. i think.)

i use the curly girl method where you dont use products with sulfates, silicones, or alcohols in them. sulfates are a harsh chemical used in most shampoos that makes them, well, a shampoo. silicones require the use of sulfates to clean out of your hair. and alcohols are drying to your hair.

if you look up "is it cg" there's a website where you input all the ingredients in a product and it'll tell you if it's ok to use for the cgm. a lot of articles on product recommendations tend to have more expensive, salon-style products listed, but there are lots of cheaper products that work too! i want to say there's a tesco shampoo that is good but i'm not in the uk so i'm not entirely sure.

my shower routine is small amount of shampoo, scrub well (for about a minute/as long as i can if i'm having ✨pain✨), apply *generous* amount of conditioner, let it sit while i clean my body, rinse most of it out, then squeeze my hair out and put in a curl cream. (gel is usually whats recommended with cgm but the cream works well for me). i plop my hair with an old t-shirt and leave it like that until it's damp instead of wet, then use my fingers to break up the "crunchy" bits. i also wash my hair like twice a week instead of every day/every other day like i used to.

i bleach my hair (would not recommend if you value your hair but funky colors go brr) so it's not perfect, but it's still better than it was!

(idk what you currently do with your hair or if this is possible for you to do but i hope this helps at all <3)

ok so i went to sleep early today. cuz yknow im tired n stuff. im trying to sleep. the heat doesnt let me. ok. i got like, one-two mosquito bites too. great. apply gel to it. go back to "sleep". lay there for who knows how long. get up. more mosquito bites. apply gel again. try to find the mosquito repellent. it's not found. go back to "sleep". lay there for a while. manage to light sleep 10 minutes with eyes closed. the mosquito bites get too painful and get up again. fuck

me, getting a text from my singing teacher informing me that she has a rehearsal at the opera today and there will be no lesson - 15 minutes before said lesson (aka my only appointment today) starts, right after I've put on some frankly astonishing make up, donned a great, carefully picked outfit and even washed my hair just for this occasion.

seraph, do you have any tips on installing a lace front?? ☹️ im still a beginner and i’ve been too scared to wear this wig out in public, but one day i did bc i had to take pictures and SO many people gave me weird looks and laughed at me. i didn’t even take pictures, i just went home and cried 😭

i bought a new that was $300 & the quality of the lace is so much better, but im still scared to go out in public with it on. i wanna send a picture but im too shy to come off anon 🥺

ok ok YES I DO! i do my hair myself but i’m also a beginner as well and there are a few videos that helped me out throughout the whole process so i’ll link them for you!

how to install a lacefront.

arnell actually had another video better explaining it but i think she deleted it :(

how to bleach knots.

there’s other steps in this video but i just watch it for the bleaching part.

also, i use 40 developer and clairol white bleach powder.

how to do the bald cap method.

i also recommend shaving your sideburns back a little so that everything lays flat. the problem i had with laying a wig down was that my sideburns were getting in the way and i’d get lifting on the sides.

how to pluck a lacefront.

plucking is crucial to making a wig look natural! it’s kinda a tedious task but once you get the hang of it, it starts to get easy.

how to dye wig jet black (optional).

now this step is completely optional, you don’t have to dye the wig black but i personally do because i don’t like dark brown hair on me.

and what i use to lay down my wigs are got2b glued (black tube) and the got2b freeze spray. i squeeze some gel out of the tube in a plastic cup or just onto the counter (i clean it up when i’m done) and then spray a little bit of the spray over it. i had a bad experience with lace glues so i avoid them and the got2b gives me a lace glue like hold anyway.

i apply about three thin layers (blow drying between each one) to the edge of my wig cap/hairline, then i dry down each layer with my blow dryer on cool and the lightest air setting. i put the wig on while the lace is still on and match the wig hairline to the glue (make sure nothing is too far down on your forehead cause that’s really unnatural) and from there i take my scarf and lay it down for about thirty minutes.

when i come back, i remove my scarf, use AN EYEBROW RAZOR to cut the lace and make sure you don’t cut too much but don’t cut too little. since the glue has the lace stuck just follow the areas that are not stuck.

also ALWAYS TRY ON YOUR WIG BEFORE YOU INSTALL! see how it fits on your head, if you wanna cut some of the sideburns off because it’s over your ear, or if it needs to be tightened in the back! i wish you nothing but great luck for this wig!!!´͈ ᵕ `͈ ♡°◌̊

J, T: Hahaha.

J: Well, say it now, haha.

K: No, well, Im always saying this, but the preparations to get this show started each time are so slow!

J, T: Hahaha.

K: I got here about 90mins ago!

J: Yeh, honestly for me, sorry about this, but I mistook the time and the day, I only noticed when I saw Tasai's LINE message.

T: I was thinking, 'this is not good'.

J: 'Joe san! We're all already here!' And I thought, 'Eh!?', and I rushed here in a panic. But they still weren't ready to start recording.

K: Seriously, they havn't ever got it all set up quickly and smoothly.

T: Thats right.

K: We're waiting for so long.

J: Yep, there's been a lot of waiting to get to this point. But we do have time to have a meeting about the theme.

K: Yeh, we do that. But why does it never work out properly? They only have to do the same thing every time. We're talking about this every third episode.

J: Yeh, and we record three at once, so its like every time, haha.

K: Hahaha

J: Yep, we start each recording session with this conversation every time. Its become famous already.

K: We are kinda grumbling a bit.

J: The viewers have no connection to this.

K: Well, anyway, for today...Joe san, could you please?

J: Yes, 1500 at a concert - risk assessment of event restarts in German experiment. With the reopening of music and sports events in mind, which have faced huge restrictions amidsts the spreading of Covid-19, German researchers conducted an experiment on the 22nd, analyzing the risk of infection at a real live concert. On this day, a team of researchers from Martin Luther University in Halle, Germany put on a concert by the singer Tim Bendzko in an indoor venue in Leipzig. 1500 people took part in the experiment. Masks and small size tracking devices were distributed to the audience, and their hands were applied with fluorescent gel before entering. This was to record areas of high contact within the venue, and identify where people are touching the most. Professor Gekle from the same university's medical department said, 'I want to be able to offer some means of making a reasonable decision as the whether or not events can be permitted. We need the means to predict how many people will be infected after events are reopened.' Three scenarios were tested: a pre-pandemic environment, a mid-pandemic/strengthened infection prevention environment, and a limited audience environment. The team will analyze the gathered data, and evaluate the success of the prevention methods using a mathematical model. They will announce their results within this year. Soo, this has finally gotten started.

J: Yes, in the end 1500 people took part in the experiment.

K: Didn't they say they wanted 4000 people?

J: Yeh, maybe they couldn't gather that many.

K: Yeh

J: Sounds like it.

T: I think so. It looks like the data is split into three parts. The first group is like at the start of the pandemic with everyone...

J: Everyone crammed in. Doing a live show in a packed space.

T: Yeh. The second group was testing the prevention measures, like using alcohol, with a certain amount of social distancing. And the third group was keeping a strict distance of 1.5 meters between each person, and making it perfectly spaced out. Then they could gather these three sets of data.

J: Yeh, I see. It looks like we could get some good guidelines out of this.

K: But if they say the results will be out within the year, thats still quite a way off, isnt' it?

J: Yeh, we may have to wait a bit, but as for big events in Japan, the government made an announcement on the 21st of this month (*Sep or Oct 2020*). They will continue with their 5000 upper limit of people allowed in indoor or outdoor facilities. As to why they will continue this, a govt. person had this to say in an article for Mainichi Shinbun. 'Experts are saying we have already passed the peak, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't extend the limit on spectator numbers. The rest of the world would never forgive us'. Germany is using this kind of scientific logic, but Japan is saying 'we won't change the 5000 people limit, because the world wouldn't forgive us'!

T: Yeh..

Kami: Can I say something? ..Um, I listened to the report, and I got distracted by the names of that singer and that professor, Tim Bendzko and Professor Gekle, so I didn't really listen to the rest.

T: Well, yeh, those names are pretty interesting to Japanese people.

Kami: So I wasn't listening much...but you said, 'The rest of the world wouldn't forgive us'..if they were to lift the limit on 5000 people?

J: Yes, yes. Not me, someone connected with the government said that.

Kami: Thats pretty amazing, isn't it? They won't lift the limit because the world would never forgive them?

J: Well, experts are saying we are past the peak, so..ordinarily, this would be a good time to lift the limit.

Kami: Even though experts say we are past the peak, the world would never forgive us, so we won't lift the limit...Japan is really keeping up with the trends, isn't it?

K: Its cute, right?

J: Yeah

J: Its like, we know the science, but we don't wanna get bullied!

J: Well, its a new discovery...

Kami: Yes, I started to really love Japan.

T: Its a politician's job to explain this type of thing properly tho.

J: But this really isn't any kind of scientific logic.

K: But the rest of the world aren't doing live shows as much as Japan is...they can't can they?

J: Ahhh....yeah.

J: Yeh

J: Yes, thousands of people attended. Events like that are happening in America. At the moment, there are no penalties for doing anything.

K: People are just not doing stuff by exercising self-restraint

J: Thats it.

K: So that means Japan hasn't even ???*3

K: No, well it depends how you say it! Didn't they have anything clearer to say?

J: It wasn't very scientific.

K: We've only spoken about Japan, but in Taiwan they are holding concerts with over 10, 000 people.

T: Thats amazing, isn't it?

K: Because they have a really low rate of infection right?

J: Yeah, they do.

T: This was on August 8th, right?

Kami: The world has forgiven them right?

J: Well, yeah.

T: Doesn't this photo have quite an impact?

K: Its great, isn't it? Its a packed live show.

J: It is. They are wearing masks, but there is no distance between them.

T: Its just like normal.

K: That means they've returned to daily life then? In Taiwan?

J: Well, I guess so.

K: I spoke about this before, but I wonder if they will do experiments on other areas of life, not just live shows. This German study is only looking at live shows, right? Other things...

T: For example, public transport?

K: Mmm

T: Public spaces, they could do the experiment with public transport and stuff.

Kami: If Japan conducted this kind of experiment, the world wouldn't forgive us, right?

J: Well, you might not even be able to gather participants.

K: Well, conversely it would be seen as raising the infection risk, if Japan did it.

i saw that you do your own pressons nails. how do you do them if you dont mine me asking? ive been thinking of starting myself

hello! ok, it's actually rly easy :) i use gel polish bc it will last longer + more durable, but its up to u what kind of polish u use. i also use a nail stand to paint them bc 1. im right-handed; 2. i dont want to put my hands under a uv lamp.

so rly all i do is select a design + select my nail tips (file down bc i use my hands and i cant use rly long nail extensions lol). base coat + cure, paint/decorate + cure, top coat + cure. i rly enjoy painting them, plus j watching a show while doing my nails!

for application, i use a nail brush to scrub my nail plates under warm soapy water (u can do this in the shower) bc it gently buffs them n it removes leftover glue. then, dry ur nails, apply glue to the nail, press on ur fake nail n ur good to go! get a good nail glue tho

Your alarm rang through the room for what seemed to be the fifth time this morning.It was now 6:30am and school began in two hours unlike the majority of students in kildare county you enjoyed school and, your (only) friend pope definitely made it worthwile.You both loved school,people like his friends jj and John b didn’t like school.

Why are you awake at 6:30 again?....right!

You look over to yourself in your mirror and glance at your schedule sticky taped to the corner;

Obeying the list, you hopped into the shower and got yourself prepared for the day, brushing your teeth washing your face and applying a light amount of makeup. A tinted moisturiser, clear mascara and brow gel, In attempt to tame your wild hair you collected into a cute messy ponytail, breaking three hair bands in the possess. Putting your glasses on you choose your outfit, due to the heat you opted for something casual, a blue denim skirt with a black crop top and a oversized blue flannel top covering just to the bottom of you skirt

You went downstairs and packed some fruit into your bag. Opting to take your breakfast as today's lunch, knowing Mrs. Heyward would invite you in for ‘leftovers’ from their breakfast. Shouting goodbye to your mum who was no doubt still in bed exhausted from her night shift.

Running out the door grabbing your phone, headphones and favourite book ‘to kill a mockingbird’. I plugged in my headphones playing my ‘reading playlist’ and read as i walked up to heywards,occasionally looking up so I don’t walk into any unwanted attention. The third time checking your surroundings you realise you made it to popes in record time, because his mom came out ushering you and him in in for ‘leftovers’ .Pope rolled his eyes sending you a silent apology. You didn’t mind though she was more a mother to you than your actual blood.

“Hey nerd "pope greeted you pushing your glasses up your nose

“Hey geek” you replied, slapping his hands away, he pulled you into a quick hug and followed h8im and his mum into the kitchen.

“Whatcha reading this time?”he asked making you laugh slightly “Harper lee my friend” you replied holding up your book as he rolled his eyes “why am I not surprised ,you know the book doesn't change right every time you read it "he asked playfully “I know pope, but it’s a classic and i don’t have enough to get a new book until my shift next week so I’m not complaining “you sassed

“Yeah you're know that I’ve said you can borrow my books anytime “he asked

“Yeah but you won’t let me write notes in the margins pope! "you explained “because what about MY notes “he exclaimed and you both erupted into laughter.God,you're such geeks you mentally sighed.Mrs.Heyward scolded at us both for arguing and gave us some pancakes and fruit.

Mr.Heward barged through the doors shouting about some ‘arrogant snotty kook man’ and turned around shily when he heard you and pope laughing. "daisy hey sweetheart you need me to save you or you alright?” he asked, referring to his wife’s overwhelming mothering. You shook your head quietly declining his offer, smiling you replied “no sir it's fine, "you laughed "Heyward you need any help with deliveries?” you asked hopeful as you needed to buy some things for school. Being a pogue you tended to have to fend yourself, plus it gave you something to do. “Sure do doll, tomorrow morning,7 sharp you’n’my boy can help out and pope make sure you ask that Maybank if he's helping out too, need to know who goes so y'all come back alive”he joked”thank you sir”you shouted as he was halfway out the door.Turning back round to pope “maybank?” you asked, raising your eyebrow hinting you had absolutely no idea who he was talking about,”my friend jj you know the blonde who gets into all the fights i told you about”he answered and you nodded,still searching for an answer ”he's coming tomorrow?” you quizzed “yeah probably,plus i think it's about time you met my friends they all think i made you up”he laughed”c'mon we've gotta eat then go”

As if on queue Mrs Heyward shouted at you from across the hall telling you to eat before it got cold.After scoffing your breakfast down,it was time to leave.After regular smothering from your second mother you left.

“Sorry about them”he mumbled

“It’s fine it’s nice having the whole parents as parents thing you know”you said .Pope knew about your mom not being around or well really a mom.He said you could come round whenever assuring his parents you were just friends,they loved you.

He nodded”you know your welcome whenever”he said and you nodded again

“Yeah but anyways how you feeling today about mrs.spiky hairs test smartass”you joked “we gon ace it y'all ready know her tests are easy”he dragged

“True I’ve got all a’s every time”you smirked

“Yeah same but to be fair even my friend John b could pass them and he didn't know that there were two different there’s until junior year so....”

Waiting for class to start,you set up outside your classroom and put your headphones back in continuing your book. The vibration of the bell and stampedes of teenagers scurry to their first lesson , you ended up waiting for pope who practically ran down the hall and laughed when your eyes met.

You went in taking your seats next to each other this happened up until break. then lunch you’d go to all your lessons together hang out at break,being antisocial in the library, but at lunch he’s always go off,with the pogues you assume,now knowing they go to your school.At lunch you go outside and walk to the bleachers and sit reading basking in the sun.

After your last lesson with pope you both headed home together dropping him off at heywards halfway.

“Mom I’m home”you shouted slamming the door dropping the keys on the sideboard .After no reply you expected her to be at work so you got started on your homework so you could”relax” on the weekend.

It was now 6:30,and pope texted you telling you the party started at seven and the offer was still up before you could reply,you heard your door slam shut and you ran downstairs hoping you could talk to your mum,and catch up.

You see her figure reach for a cupboard that hasn’t been opened in years left. this was bad.

“Hey mama how was work”you asked with a shaky breath

She glared swigging the bottle

“You know what sweetie “she spat “Mama don’t have to go to work an more you wanna know why because i got fired from work apparently they couldn’t handle me anymore,took to many people on,so sweetie work was fucking awful OK”she shouted

“Oh mum I'm sorry what are you going to do i mean i think the heyw--“

“Oh shut up you’re so pathetic you know,I mean you inside on a Friday night? should you be out like a normal teenager huh?god”she scoffed

“What mom I-“by now half the bottle was empath,being drank with such desperation

“I’ll get another job I’ve already got the heywards they can give me more time and an I-I’ll get a side job we’ll be fine w-we have dads money too”

“Sont talk about hijm!It’s your fault your father left you fucking incompetent piece of shit you make everyone want to leave,no wonder you have no friends. I mean look at you your pathetic you know these people in your books there not real DAISY god why can’t you just be normal you drove everyone away.this is your fault”

Tears were now threatening your eyes,but as you looked into the person infront of you,you didnt see sadness,you saw anger,you saw red.

So you called him running out of your house in todays clothes covered in blood like you’d been in a fucking horror movie

He cut you off “no shut up it’s fine where are you,are you hurt what happened?”

“Oh-oh my god there’s so many people here”you were sure you were having a panic attack by now,-you could barely breathe

“Wait daisy I-i see you I’m coming okay wait there”

“O-okay”

Hanging up the phone you were now just balling your eyes out in pain and hurt. You curled up into a ball only looking up when you could hear pope shouting in the distance.

“Shit daisy”he shouted

“I’m sorry I didn’t know where to go,my mum she she my arm I- I”

Pope wasn’t unfamiliar to your panic attacks,usually being the one to calm you from them,/

“Daisy breath okay”he stroked your hair making you look into his eyes

“What happened “he asked and you showed him your arm “shit daisy that’s close to a main artery your losing loads of blood C'mon let’s get you cleaned up back at the chateau “you just nodded following him his hand holding yours hiding you from the people as you walked past. Arriving at a group of people probably his friends,the pogues,. As your vision begins to go hazy you think that maybe your mum was right you are pathetic .He was out on a Friday night ,I looked like the whole damn school was here.he has his life maybe he didn’t want to be your friend maybe he didn’t want to just hurt you .realizing you were fading out he shook you “shit daisy no no no “he cursed“John b keys I need the keys”you heard him say and they were saying something about him getting some “dude shut up this is daisy she’s hurt “you heard him say and all of them looked at you,but you couldn’t bring your eyes too meet them.Soon enough pope was dragging you away and towards a shack,the chateau.

He dragged you inside and you were sitting on the Island In the kitchen/living room,this was a home.

“Your dad?”he answers for you

You nodded

“She said that it-it was my fault that he left and that she lost her job an”you gulped,recomposing yourself“How I push everyone away and that’s why I have no friends I mean let’s face it”laughiing a breathy laugh “she’s right”popes head snapped up “Daisy!you have me,D its okay I’m you best friend and you know she’s wrong okay now this is going to hurt”he assured you,before you could ask questions your arm burned up from the straight alcohol he’d put on your arm “FUCK POPE SHIT WARNING PLEASE FUCK”you shouted and he laughed,frowning when he came too “Sorry,shit this is bad daisy,like really bad,I dont know what to do,I can just wrap it up But ii think you should go to the hospital“he said and before you could fight,a deep voice filled the room.

“What the fuck is going on pope”curse from the back of the room.After observing the heaps of bloody tissues and your T-shirt laying next to you“What the fuck happened to her man,who is this?”he asked pope who looked up at you,asking the silent of’should i tell him’ you shook your head with pleading eyes

Pity took over popes vision as he answered JJ’s question“Jj this is daisy,daisy jj”he introduced you and you sighed,finally meeting the blue eyed boy with watery vision“hey,sorry we,urm, woke,you”you stuttered “oh i wasn’t sleeping princess”he winked causing you to furror your eyebrows at the boy you heard stories about ,following up to the elephant int he room.”what happened”he asked,re-observing your surroundings,eyes finally meeting your bloody arm “holy shit you gotta fucking c-cat or something”he demanded .Before you could awnser,a half naked girl stumbled out of his room,pouting

“oh you really weren’t joking when you said you weren’t asleep”you giggle then pope accidentally pressed to hard into your arm making you scream “fuck pope Jesus fucking shit”you cursed

“Fuck I’m sorry but its clean and the plasters won’t do much but I’ll wrap it up anyways i still think you might have to go to hospital”you shook your head “no no no no I can’t pope you know that”he sighed “look nerd you know where she cut look how close that is daisy okay” pointing to your bandaged arm jjs eyebrows furrowed in confusion

You tore away from his gaze to the the floors

“Hey jj,what's taking so long sweets”his guest said,in a thick country accent causing him too sigh turning around going back into his room.You don’t know what he said but five minuets later she was storming out the rusted doors,huffing and puffing, and left and he walked back to you two

“Sorry”you looked at him and his eyes softened.You were gorgeous and so innocent who would do this to you?.he asked himself”don’t be she was to Whiny anyways you saved me”you smiled ,slightly rolling your eyes at the player you'd been warned from.

“Daisy”pope snapped you back to reality “hospital?”

“Pope I can’t I-I’ll just go home and-“you babbled

”no no way you're not going back there daisy okay not if your moms like she is right now”he said under his breath in attempt to be secretive

“Your mom?”jj thought out loud and you just looked at him,mentally cursing yourself

Ignoring the blondes “you know i can’t do that pope”you mumbled looking down.

“Why”he snapped

“Because I live there pope”you paused,forgetting the blonde”you know and it’s not like this is new, you know it’ll blow over”you urged,trying to convince yourself

“And what if i doesn't daisy”he quizzed” what are you going to do then”he asked causing you to freeze and stand in silence.

You walked up and hugged him,stifling a sob.Skilfully dodging your arm,you let go of him and held his stare.

“Pope,your my best friend, okay?Well my only friend. You know that, but you gotta understand why I’ve gotta go home,Besides, she’s probably not even in,she left straight after, she’s probably out okay”you insisted”I’ve got that job with you and your dad tomorrow I’ll see you okay”you insisted

After some silence he looked at you,”I’ll drive you home okay and if she’s there your coming back to mine”he hissed”You can crash in the couch like you did last time okay “he urged”let me just go talk to jj okay”he said leaving you in the kitchen ,now only realizing the blonde had left the room.After overhearing some not-so hushed whispers,pope came out followed by a blonde who carried an angered but also slightly pained expression that left you wondering what pope said in there.Did he tell him about your mum?

After snatching the keys from the side,where you left them,he led you guys into the van.You and pope got into the back and he and just hugged you there it was nice he calms you and you calm him .“Hey pope”you break the silence“Yeah”he returned“Sorry”you apologised“Stop”he spat.

You looked up to him,eyebrows arching up in confusion“What?”you pleaded,provoking him to roll his eyes and your tendency to apologise after any slight inconvenience“Doing it”he grumbled“Doing what”you urged,oblivious to what was annoying him“You always apologise,after everything”he answered letting out a slightly breathy laugh“Sorry”you laugh realising you already subconsciously apologised.“See what I mean”he tutted“Right but thank you”you pushed“Always nerd”he promised“Geek”you sassed,falling into a comfortable silence,enjoying who you considered your family now

“Hey daisy” he broke the silence

“Hm”you humed

“Did you take them today”he asked,you sighed

“I thought I’d be okay pope,i was i promise”you pleaded

“Daisy”he sighed

“I hate them pope,they make me feel so deflated,they make me feel like a monster”you mumbled into his shoulder

“You have to take them daisy you know that”he scolded

“I’m know i Just”you paused

“I know”he cut in

“I don’t want to be a monster anymore pope”

“Your not a monster daisy,i promise,you're amazing bub”he praised

Finally pulling up to your house,met with a cleaver driveway you turned back to pope who was checking for the same thing you were “see”you deflated”i'll be fine see you in the morning,7 sharp kids” you teases in his dad's warning tone

“Daisy i still think you should come back to mine i don't think you’ll b--”

You pleaded his anxious babbling with a kiss on the cheek”see you in the morning”you demanded and he sighed

You popped your head through to the front

“Thank you for the ride jj sorry about interrupting your night” you apologised and he smiled at you”no worries princess,we oughta be seeing you in daylight too though”he asked “maybe blondie”you winked giving pope one last hug before you made your way through the door,treading carefully,just to be safe.

OK PROMPT TIME. High school AU same gang as before and a body has been discovered (maybe it's Halloween and it's like a school event)

It’s Halloween night. Jiang Cheng hates Halloween.

He’s hated it since he was a kid, when he woke up in the morning in a bathtub full of toy spiders, in a disastrous incident that Wei Wuxian proudly refers to as his most dedicated prank to this day. (He’d cried and screamed for his jiejie, and then when she’d tucked him back into bed, he had slipped under the blanket only to find that his spot had been taken up by wriggly toy snakes. How Wei Wuxian had managed to survive in the Jiang household after that day is anyone’s guess.)

But today, and don’t tell anyone this, he’s actually a little excited. Last night, Wen Chao had texted him.

10:39PM

“NOT my bf” sent:

i know ure dreading halloween tomorrow but

im planning something cool so

look forward to it XD

Jiang Cheng is nothing if not an indulgent boyfriend, so he does, as Wen Chao wished, “look forward to it XD”. Or at least, he’s been trying his best to! There are some obstacles:

1) Wei Wuxian. For some stupid reason that Jiang Cheng does not care to know about, Wei Wuxian is dressed as a sexy bunny. Which is to say, a black crop top that says “Carrot” in bright pink letters, black bunny ears, and really short shorts with a fluffy black tail glued onto it.

2) Lan Wangji. Is wearing matching bunny ears, yet bearing the same “I don’t care about worldly affairs” expression in the face of the above display. But the placement of his hands (on Wei Wuxian’s bare hips) gives away how he’s actually into it. And no one else is, least of all Jiang Cheng.

3) Nie Huaisang. Is dressed as an astronaut and his stupid clunky suit keeps banging into Jiang Cheng when they walk. And every time that happens, he pulls off his stupid glass head to apologise and ends up knocking either Wei Wuxian or Lan Wangji’s ears off.

FOURTHLY, and this is the worst part, his boyfriend is nowhere to be found.

“Where’s your boyfriend?” Nie Huaisang asks, tugging on Jiang Cheng’s arm. “I entered the Costume Contest and I need you all to vote for me but he’s not around!”

Wei Wuxian tears himself away from Lan Wangji for a moment to remark, “Probably freaked out because there wasn’t enough gel in his hair – he’ll be here after he empties out a hair gel factory.”

He doesn’t have time to laugh at his own stupid joke because Jiang Cheng is chasing after him, ready to pull his bunny ears off and smack him with it.

Jiang Cheng chases Wei Wuxian around the school campus, and Wei Wuxian runs for his life, screaming as he ran “LAN ZHAN! LAN ZHAN! SAVE MEEEEE!!!”, and that is when they discover the body. To speak in clearer detail, Wei Wuxian is the one to discover it, by tripping over it and landing flat on his face.

In any other circumstance, finding an unmoving body lying in a deserted part of the school, and on Halloween, no less, would be enough to get Jiang Cheng to call the cops, or grab Wei Wuxian and run for his life. But the body screams, “Fucking hell! Ouch, Wei Wuxian! That hurt!”, then swears again when Jiang Cheng points his phone torchlight into its eyes.

There he is.

Wen Chao is dressed like a corpse – some kind of makeup has been applied to his face to make him look pale as death, and there’s red paint smeared on his face to make it look like he’s been murdered. His hair isn’t even gelled today, and it looks so fluffy that Jiang Cheng wants to run his fingers through it. In his hands is a printed picture of Jiang Cheng, probably meant to look like he was the corpse’s last thought because of their inseparable romance or whatever. Overall, it would’ve been a pretty good display.

But Wen Chao is sitting up now, and grumbling to Wei Wuxian – “You were supposed to lead him here and let me surprise him, not run in here like a madman and fall on your face!” – and so the illusion is not really working out.

Jiang Cheng, sick of hearing a slutty bunny and a talking corpse bickering, reaches them in a few quick strides.

“Is this what you were planning?” He asks. Wen Chao nods.

“It didn’t work, I was going to surprise you,” he says, pouting.

Jiang Cheng shrugs. “Still a better Halloween surprise than the Spider Incident.”

He pulls Wen Chao to his feet, and close to him.

“You’re looking good, by the way.”

Wen Chao flushes red, visible even under the corpse makeup. “You too.”

“Can I go now?” Wei Wuxian asks. “I’ve got a bunny to hop back to.”
